A small bar with a great selection of beers. There is a large rotating section of taps and bottles from all over, but an emphasis on Southern California and Tijuana. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. Outside food is allowed (and encouraged).

Definitely my go to nook for Indie Beer in National City. They have a plethora of real craft brews raging from an occasional lager to your favorite IPA's and some serious stouts, not to mention some of Mexico's best craft beers on tap!! A must go for a good swill and genuine vibes!

Machete Beer House is a SOCAL Staple. This Beer House makes you feel at home with no needed bells and whistles. This locally owned, woman owned, and Minority owned and curated beer house is exactly why we should continue to support our local small businesses. They feature local and Mexican Breweries and have an expansive list of bottled beer, seltzers, and other things for the non-beer drinker. Place is fun and casual with good music and a HUGE screen to watch games, whether its football, baseball, soccer, or olympics! There is always a good time to be had at Machete and if you need a bite you can head next door for that come back to where the ambience is truly unique!

This is definitely a must go to for all that love excellent craft beer. If you are in the National city area stop in. Eddie and the crew are the true professionals who always make you feel like your at a home away from home. It is a place for all you craft connoisseurs. So as the dos equis guy says i don't always drink dos equis stay thirsty my friends no more at Machete .

They have a bunch of different styles, and a selection of beers from breweries that I either haven't heard of or never tasted before. Love that. It gets boring seeing the same 3-4 breweries at every place that offers craft beer in SD. Vibe is super chill, casual and divey. Staff here is really nice. I didn't get his name, but he let me try a few different beers and gave great recommendations based on the styles I like. No food here, but the Papi’s Teppanyaki food truck is here from time to time. Check their IG for their schedule. Not sure if there are ever other options since I only recently found out about this place. Cheers! Edit: I came back a second time and the super cool bartender's name is Jett. If you come in on a day he's manning the bar, you're in great hands. :)

Small venue, simple with a variety of local brewed beers. Their hand written menus hard to read so I recommend downloading the menu. A few small tvs and a big projector screen.

Cool little place to grab a craft beer and and watch sports, or simply hang out collectively. Lacks any sort of parking. Was not entirely a fan of not allowing patrons not ordering drinks to sit inside. Variety of drinks were abundant.

Look I'm not saying this place is bad, but unclean tables and loud music isn't my vibe. For the younger crowd you should stop on by. They had some tacos outside that were pretty good and they're beer selection was awesome but the overcrowding and not being able to hear myself talk kinda ruined it.

Mermaid was chill had pool tables darts, live music every Saturday they had Live Reggae night. Machete only has old shitty black & white movies on a projector. Idk I've been here a few times because some friends wanted to go. & each time I never liked it, it just got me more angry every time I went. That fact, there were no pool tables anymore, especially Reggae Night.
