North Beach Fish Camp

We enjoy all the Fish Camps and recently came to the North Beach location. Service was fantastic and our server was on top of it, some of the best service we have had in the area. The food was delicious, my father in law enjoyed the shrimp and grits, he added bacon and sausage to it. I really like their whole fried fish, my wife liked her fish sandwich and my mother in law loved the pan seared cod. Definitely recommend stopping by and trying out some items. We will continue to return.

Erne and I love North Beach Fish Camp. We always sit at the bar for drinks and dinner. There are no better bartenders than Paul And Phil. They are so efficient, fast, fun loving, customer pleasers, only to mention a few of their attributes. This is our go to place. The food is delicious. Bread pudding is so yummy. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you all for a delightful experience. See you soon.

5 stars for entrees and service (and splitting checks for a big party). 3.5 stars for appetizers. We had a reservation for 7 pm for a party of 13 on Friday, 3/29/24. Free valet parking a short walk away. Our table was ready on time and we were seated right away! Great for big parties! The appetizers were pretty basic, but the entrees were great. Here’s what I had: - Smoked Fish Spread ($9): Tasted like the whitefish salad from Costco. - Spicy Pimento Cheese Spread ($8): Tasted like the pimento cheese from Costco. - Crispy Artichoke Hearts ($9): Good! - Grilled Salmon ($28): Delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly. The spinach and potatoes were good too! Highly recommend! For drinks, I got the Hot Mama ($11) and Cucumber Basil Gimlet ($12). Both were very good! So reasonably priced! Great service! Everyone enjoyed their entrees. We also got some very tasty dessert! The best part of all was that they were able to do individual checks. We asked beforehand and they were more than willing to accommodate us! I would definitely go back, especially with a big party.

Love that you walk right in to a window of fresh fish that they use in their fresh catch menu item. The drinks were all great and the appetizers were amazing. Get the gator tail and the scallops! Mains were all good from what I sampled of my group’s meals. I had the salt and pepper tuna and probably wouldn’t order it again. It’s exactly what it said on the menu, but I’d prefer to try something else next time. I usually don’t get desserts while dining out, but their bread pudding was heavenly! Definitely a great dinner spot with reasonable prices. Plus, you’re right by the beach— who doesn’t love that?

Our server was amazing. The food was on point. Everything was fresh and hot. I highly recommend the conch fritters. They were delicious. Also the wedge Bleu cheese salad was so good and huge. The fried green tomatoes with goat cheese melted in your mouth 🤤 the mango mojito was refreshing and the high tide drink was strong but so good.

Nice service from Olivia. Beach side restaurant. Good vibes. Conch fritters were delicious. The clam chowder was my favorite. Generous portions of the clam and very well seasoned. Comfort in a bowl.

The wait staff was knowledgeable and engaging. The swordfish was outstanding. Rock crab claws were in season also. Would recommend.

Being from Texas, we don’t get seafood often. We ended up going to North Beach Fish Camp, 2 nights in a row! We went because we had excellent service from Ashley, and the food was amazing! Looking forward to returning next summer! Everything we ordered had so much flavor! We had had the catch of the day, which was halibut(both nights, one night with rice and one night with potatoes), Spicy Shrimp Linguini, Broiled Scallops(had both nights) , low boil for two, salt & peppar seared tuna, and Ceviche Catch of the day. The bread pudding is also amazing!!

We love North Beach Fish Camp and have been coming ever since we moved here in 2018. The service is always amazing and the food is always consistent. We always take guests visiting from out of town. We haven’t been in a little while, but we ended up going for our anniversary last night. The manager (Rob) sat us, and we got to talking because we always see him as a customer at another restaurant we frequent and got to talking. As busy as they were he made us feel like we were the only patrons. He went above and beyond, just like the servers always do. We will definitely be adding this back into our frequent restaurant rotation. Thanks for the great service!!

We had an amazing experience at North Beach Fish Camp! The atmosphere and vibes are great. Our server Kallen was the best and the food and drinks were delicious! The manager kept checking on us, and their customer service was amazing when 1 of our meals took a little longer than the others. We'll definitely go back when we're in the area!

I never cared for grits but THESE grits are the best I ever had! Always love the fresh catch of the day or Mahi Mahi, Grouper, etc. Love the daily specials - never disappoints! Also, for an appetizer I think the fried green tomatoes were the bet I’ve ever had! We bring family and visitors here often.

Chris as a server was amazing. He led me to the locally caught grilled filefish. The best fish I’ve ever had. Hush puppies were also probably the best I’ve had along with the vegetables (I believe it was zucchini and squash with onions and mushrooms) along with red potatoes. Seriously, one of the best plates in my life.

Our dinner was delicious. We made reservations and were seated immediately. Our server was personable and attentive. There was a little wait between appetizers and entrees but because we were not starving anymore, not a big deal. The only slight miss was the shrimp in the pasta dish being overcooked but the scallops were perfect. We took dessert to go. That was all packaged nicely, including some ice cream. Very reasonably priced, in my opinion.

Oh, so good. Whenever we are near the ocean, we HAVE to get seafood. My brother in law found this place, and we all agreed we would come back next time we visit them. The drinks were strong and tasty. The alligator and calamari are to die for. The fish tacos, delicious. The pasta is also delicious. My husband and I shared the 3 types of seafood plates; we chose mahi mahi, crab, and scallops, absolutely amazing. Everything IS fried (everything we all ordered, fried). I usually don't order mahi mahi or scallops fried, I didn't pay attention to the text of the menu, but lord, I am hooked. I could eat everything we ordered forever. Oh, and the french fries are giant potatoe wedges, which were also amazing. We also tried the desert martini, it was blueberry, we recommend that as well. If you have an infant, they will put the stroller behind the bar for you as well while seated at the table. The atmosphere and service was perfection.

My wife and I really enjoyed our lunch. My Bloody Mary was delicious. We enjoyed steamed oysters for an appetizer that were cooked perfectly. She had the salmon BLT and I had the fried shrimp and oyster basket. Cammy was our server and she was awesome. Loved it! Parking is tough in the area so be mindful if trying to make a reservation time.

A personal favorite. I love all the dishes I’ve tried. The seafood is fresh and the service is great even when they’re very busy. Outdoor, main dining and upstairs seating is available so even without reservations the wait is usually manageable . Parking can be hard to find during peak hours but there’s Valet which the restaurant validates.

Great vibes. Nice for children. Amazing service from the legend Eric. Great food the chef and cooks know what they are doing with all fresh ingredients. A must go on Jacksonville Beach!

Surprisingly there is a large menu to choose from, we came in for lunch. Osters and crab legs were fresh, recommend the seafood platter. Service was great. Place stays busy.

We were seated near the entrance and there was a lot of movement by our table. Other than that… the food and drinks were great, the waitress was very nice and suggested some specials. Close to the beach and the other local restaurants/bars. Didn’t see any gift shops nearby. A great place to grab a bite after the beach tho.

I don’t even like seafood and this is an AMAZING restaurant. Our waiting experience / with the hostess was a little odd but the restaurant went from somewhat busy when we had first walked in to swamped In that 30 minute plus wait so that could have been apart of what was going on. We thoroughly enjoyed our server Ben. He was swamped and did not rush at all. He was so thorough, he is amazing at his job and a was a joy to have. He truly elevated the experience. The food was a 10/10 as well. We ordered gator bites, pan fried chicken with veggies and parsley potatoes, a fish sandwich which came with coleslaw and fries and a few drinks. Best server experience I have ever had and there was nothing that we ordered that wasn’t amazing. Amazing cooks !! Also love that it’s family owned.

Our waitress, Lisa, was wonderful. She gave menu recommendations and places to visit while in Jacksonville. Their chowder is one of the best I’ve tasted - even including those up in Boston. The shrimp were large, tender and well seasoned. The scallops melted in your mouth. Ask for Lisa when you get a table.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We came here on Sunday and had a fantastic experience. Our server, Kallen, greeted us right away and really knew the menu. His recommendations were spot on. We tried the whole fried red snapper and the blackened mahi sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious! Great service, amazing food, and a place we will definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend! 😄

We come everytime we have family in town. There are ALWAYS tables available for big groups. It never fails! We usually make a reservation the same day. Drinks and food is always on point. The hush puppies are seriously addictive. Also the complimentary valet parking is a plus! Pull up and no need to worry. The vibe is always right, loud and lively. We fit right in lol .

We had a great seafood lunch today. Wonderful service and atmosphere. Alex really went out of his way to help us when we left our credit card!

3rd time we have eaten here, twice with others. Each time everyone was very happy, the food was delicious and service very good. Fish tacos, blackened fish, both kinds of crab cakes, fries fish basket, burger, soup all very good. Recommend!

We had an amazing food and overall experience at North Beach Fish Camp! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious — the clam strips were perfectly crispy, the seafood chowder was rich and flavorful, the boil for two was generous and packed with fresh seafood, and the fresh flounder Greek salad was light, fresh, and perfectly prepared. On top of the incredible food, Tom was an amazing server — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. You can really tell this place cares about quality and hospitality. Fantastic food, great vibes, and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back! 🐟🦞✨

I don’t usually write reviews after just one great experience. But after my second visit to North Beach Fish Camp, I had to. The first time I had their food was during my job’s summit banquet, and I was thoroughly impressed. It was banquet service and somehow still top tier. So I knew I had to come back for a full sit down dinner with a friend. I am so glad I did. From the moment we sat down, the service was incredible. Our server, whose name I hate that I can’t remember, was warm, inviting, and genuinely kind. She made us feel welcome, not rushed, and completely taken care of all night. Management even stopped by multiple times to check on us, which says a lot about how they run that place. Now let’s talk about the food. We started with the crab soup and fried blue crab claws. Simply amazing. The crab soup was thick, warm, and FULL of crab meat. Not one of those soups where you go hunting for a shred of seafood. Every spoonful was rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The fried blue crab claws were battered just enough, crispy without overpowering the meat, and served with a Cajun remoulade that was honestly next level. Ten out of ten. For dinner, I ordered the choose three with fried fish, shrimp, and clams. Every bite was fresh, golden, and cooked just right. But what really stole the show were the sides. I chose lima beans and greens. Let me ask this respectfully… whose grandma is in that kitchen? Because those sides tasted like Thanksgiving at home. The lima beans were seasoned perfectly, tender but not mushy. The greens were rich, savory, a touch of sweetness like I like them, and simply comforting. I would not have added or taken away a single thing from either one. Hats off to the chef. My friend ordered the lionfish with steak fries and grits. First of all, they gave him two whole lionfish. We have wanted to try lionfish for a while, and it did not disappoint. Flaky, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. And I am not even a grits person, but I tried some of his and was genuinely impressed. Creamy and well seasoned. His steak fries had to be Yukon gold potatoes because they were tender and buttery inside with the perfect crisp on the outside. Everything was absolutely delicious. AND we didn't break the bank. For everything we mentioned we spent $88, plus a decent tip 😘 Between the incredible food, the attentive service, and the way they made us feel cared for from start to finish, North Beach Fish Camp has officially earned a repeat customer. I will absolutely be back next weekend.

First time here, very impressed. I had the seafood platter and was amazed. I also had their signature Buffalo Trace old fashion, made perfect. Folks near me were also raving about their food. The location is nice, service is excellent.

We had a great visit to North Beach fish camp! Our server Kami was a superstar. We both had the seafood soup and shared the low boil for two. It was amazing and so much food! But we still managed to eat the bread pudding for dessert. What an indulgence. We ordered more soup, fish spread and gator to take back with us to our hotel for another great meal. We won't need to eat for a week.

Good place for a special dinner out. Definitely use the complimentary valet parking. Shrimp and grits were rich and flavorful but not heavy. Gumbo was very good and a nice way to enjoy the Mayport shrimp. Bread pudding for dessert was the right decision—so delicious. Every table was filled and it was challenging to converse, plus it is very obvious they are walking around clocking your table to turn it over.

Highly recommend! Top-notch in every way! Welcoming, attentive and caring staff. Ashley & Kate are amazing! Great drink selection. Food is stellar! Our 1st visit was perfect. We were extremely impressed with every food item we had. Definitely a place to return to. Highly recommended to us by locals. Go!!!

What a gem! We were welcomed and seated lickety split. Our server, Ashley, was timely and attentive (even noticing my drink needed refreshing before I asked)! The food was delicious! I ordered the halibut special; it was an imaginative dish with creamed sweet potatoes, green beans, bacon, and halibut. The flavors were complementary - and I don't even care for sweet potatoes (I think I do now). Thank you for a delightful dinner!

Visiting Jacksonville and came in for an early dinner. Place was busy but not packed. Seated immediately and server was very helpful and quick. Recommend you check out the menu ahead of time. I am down to try new things, and enjoyed the soup special. Loved the salmon but would have substituted the sides.

Arrived to our hotel within walking distance to several restaurants..this one caught our attention with the menu..we had the best dinner ..fresh fish and oysters...great drinks. The best part was Joy our server!! She was so fun amd kind. Made great recommendations. I asked for a cosmo, not to sweet, she made sure it was perfect. My husband wanted oysters for dessert and she made sure he got them even though they were close to closing. We did come back the next night since we had such a great experience .Joys section was full..we didn't get the same service or kindness..my steak was not cooked when I asked for med well, (yes i am that person) it was very red. I should have stuck the fish!! The server hardly came by amd seemed distracted, but it was busy. So I would return but only to sit where we can have Joy!!

The oysters were very fresh and hit the spot. As for the boil, the crab really did it for me. Paired with butter, it really can't get better than this. I was not a big fan of the shrimp and clams in the boil, but everything else was quite good. I think what made this experience especially enjoyable was Eric our server. He knew literally everything on the menu and was very nice. Definitely recommend this spot!

Bustling on a Saturday night! But we were seated almost immediately and had great service throughout. We shared the special - deep fried flounder with shoestring fries - followed by a delicious slice of key lime pie!

Overall, an enjoyable meal. Pros: decent food. Cons: appetizer was $16 for 4 tiny bay scallops, we thought they were bigger scallops and wish it would’ve specified, they were tasty but wouldn’t order again. Our main entree was yum, he got the flounder special and I got the linguine. Bread pudding is usually great here. This one was supposedly sweet potato pecan. You would never know sweet potato was there, pecans were very burnt which kind of tainted it all unfortunately, but the last time I was here the bread pudding was so so good. Service was okay, nothing spectacular, kind of bland. It was really loud inside. Will try another place for our next night out. :)

We sat outside and the weather was fabulous in March. The server was attentive and friendly. The pimento cheese appetizer was okay, but not something I would order again. The seafood was fresh and seasoned well for all 3 main entrees. There was disappointment due to the broiled shrimp being overcooked. My plate of food was not delivered with the others, so maybe the kitchen accidentally overcooked them while rushing my plate. Not sure.

The food is great, service is great, been dining here for years and never had a bad meal. A new completely unskilled yet meddlesome micromanager by the name of Kate Masters has joined the team recently and I have no choice but to speak out. As a patron I watch her harass the servers and create a toxic work environment the entire restaurant can feel. She’s not a good fit for the team and I highly suggest upper management reconsider her employment at North Beach before more loyal customers like me move elsewhere.
