Been coming here for years. ordered the combination plate with catfish of course, everything was delicious. Highly recommend this place if you like seafood. The rustic decor is absolutely awesome part of the reason to come here. The wait staff kept the drinks full throughout the meal which is a big Plus in this day and age.
Went for my Godson's birthday dinner and left happy! The fried pickles, onion rings, and catfish were solid. No regrets.

I took my college son and we met up with family at Clear Springs Restaurant. I never heard of it before. It is east of I35 and New Braunfels. The restaurant looks like rustic inside and out with lots of fun decor to look at. It is wide open inside with several rooms to eat in. The parking was mostly full be we got good spots. The servers were fantastic - friendly, patient and attentive. She made good recommendations. The four of us shared fried pickles and the SMALL onion ring. That was plenty of appetizer. They were both delicious and cooked perfectly. We at all of them. I had the three shrimp meal - fried, grilled and something else. They were cooked great. The fries are how I like them - just above shoe string and no coating. The iced tea tasted fresh with a bold flavor. Another person had the fried shrimp and a side of catfish - all good. The college son had a shrimp poboy. He ate it up. Grandma had a child's hamburger that she enjoyed. Each meal came with more than enough french fries as two people can share the side. So think about substituting. I had coleslaw too with wasn't sweet or tangy, just right. The others shared a peach pie/cobler and ice cream. It was emptied quickly. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the time together and the food. If you like fried food - it is cooked well. There are many other items on the menu. We would go back again. Nice place.
We had the onion rings. Incredible. Also my wife had the blackened mahi mahi special and it was incredible. I had the small catfish dinner and it fed me well! We had the peach cobbler and banana pudding for dessert. Fantastic. This place was worth the drive from San Antonio!!

Catfish and shrimp were amazing!!! The atmosphere was VERY rustic. Plastic main course plates and Styrofoam appetizer plates. If you are down for just some awesome food...this is the place. It gets VERY busy and during peak hrs, the wait can be long. Recommend going early. Appetizer came extremely fast and the main course was immediately followed. Highly recommend!
Man this place has grown so much over the years. But the food quality still taste as good. Love the Texas size onion rings must try when you visit. The chicken fried steak is so good and if you love fish you should give it a try.
First time to visit this establishment. It has an nice rustic vibe as it is decorated in various antique items hanging from everywhere. The food was fresh, hot and served promptly. The sides that came with the meal, beans and coleslaw, I would have liked a bit bigger portions because they were delicious. My standard is never let my beverage glass stay empty and our waitstaff, she was on top of this! The Fried Fish, Shrimp, Fries and Hush Puppies were crispy through and through. We live in Castroville, about an hour away but we will easily make another visit soon.
I highly recommend this establishment for fried catfish. As regular patrons, we consistently experience exceptional service and cuisine. The perfectly prepared dishes and welcoming atmosphere make dining here a true pleasure. Our preferred choices are undoubtedly the onion rings and expertly crafted sweet tea. Despite our numerous visits over the years, the quality of the food remains consistently outstanding. The rustic decor adds a delightful touch to our dining experience.
First time eating here... Clear Springs Restaurant is the backyard barbecue and fish fry everyone needs in their family places to chow. Their eclectic decor and delicious menu is a break from the mundane. Their Jalapeño Crawfish Chowder was a delight.
This place always reminds you of the good things we've had in the past with all the memorabilia and a comfortable atmosphere, the food is just the icing on the cake, great place, highly recommended! The servings, by far are going to fill you up.
Even though the food took a long time to come out, it was a great experience. The food was DELICIOUS and the restaurant is very neat. I enjoyed reading the properties history and looking at all the trinkets and decorations on the walls. I ordered the grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes, and corn. Soooooo good. They even had a GF menu which makes deciding what to eat easy! The only thing, I told the waitress I was GF and somehow hush puppies made it on my plate. I gave them to my husband and scraped that part of my plate to remove any crumbs. However, I'd still recommend this restaurant
Not sure how I've missed this place in the past, but daymn good food, astonishing service, and rustic antique home style style atmosphere is absolutely amazing. Now, if we could get them to fix that catfish neon sign...because I almost missed it while driving by. This is the place to go, with a rich history and an 'at home' feel, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to everyone. The food is to die for!!!

Every city needs a Clear Springs. Clear Springs is located just outside of New Braunfels. It is a very large restaurant, but gets very busy. You have to start with the onion rings, but the fried pickles and fried cheese are also both really good. We really like their sweet tea. The menu is highly seafood focused, but they also have good chicken tenders and country fried steak or chicken. They also have grilled steaks and pork chops. My go to is the firecracker salmon, just the perfect level of sweet and smoky with a little spice. Don't forget the banana pudding for dessert.
This little gem of a restaurant is a nostalgic time capsule full of southern hospitality and compassion. They were generous and patient with our party who reserved the back room. Nevaeh was serving my half of the party and she was stellar! The occasion for our reservation was a bit different as we were celebrating the life of a loved one lost. Tough crowd to serve I'm certain, but none the less the attention to detail by our 2 waitresses and the timing of their deliveries were deliberate and compassionate. Hats off to them for doing such an amazing job! 👏🏻I will always appreciate how well you took care of us on such an occasion.
This is a neat little place. It's in a old barn and is full of antiques. It kind of open seating so the noise was moderate but it was also early so I could see where it could get load. I order the little buddy, and the fish was good and fresh and the shrimp was so good I wanted to eat the tails. Service was exceptional, spot on and the food was out in less than 5 minutes.
Ultimate historic barn with wooden trusses and vintage decisions throughout. Country fried at its finest. First venue I've come across with the cucumber margarita. Perfect place of you want to get out of the small town. Key lime pie was legit. Get the small portion of onion rings, the large will feed a group of 12 lol!

It was our first time here. This is my honest review of just what I ordered. The chicken fried chicken was above average. The sides were good (green beans & pinto beans), but they were very small servings, a bit disappointing. I tried the banana pudding, which was terrible. The onion rings were very good. Our waitress was great, I didn't get her name, but she is a pastry chef she said. Overall, good food & atmosphere, but the servings are too small.
