Opinions de Granzin Bar-B-Q New Braunfels
The Granzin Taco (carne guisada, potato, and cheese) and Brisket Longhorn Taco (brisket, lettuce, avocado, and cheese) are my favorites! Their sweet tea is just the right amount of sweet.
I'm from San Antonio. Happened to be in New Braunfels. I looked up food nearby. Granzin popped up. It looked delicious and boy was it amazing. It was lunch time and we were in a rush so we ordered online. The food was ready for pick up in 10 minutes. The brisket was great. Turkey was great. Mac and cheese was great. Green beans were great. The BBQ sauce was Great. I kind of want the recipe for the BBQ sauce. Good job guys and gals. Y'all are killing it.
I've been going to Granzins for over 30 years. It's a local mainstay. Recently I've noticed consistancy lacks some. If I grab a sliced beef sandwich at lunch it's typically moist but occasionally the meat is a bit dried out for dinner. Just offering constructive feedback. Granzin's is my go to for some of the best BBQ and has the best sweet tea (and potato salad) in town!
All about tacos and sandwiches. People inside and drive thru line was long.
This was my first time coming here and I already know that I found my new barbecue spot. Everyone was very kind and hospitable, the dining area and restrooms are very clean and most of all the food was delicious. The prices, portions and flavor were all top notch. I ordered the turkey breast sandwich, pork belly tacos, rice and I cannot stop bragging about how delicious it was. The turkey wasn't dry and the bun was to die for. This place is great for all ages. Bring the whole family. Heck! Have a party, There's lots of seating. Good job guys and thank you for sharing your love and passion for good bbq with us.
1st time here. Wasn't busy at all, had the special. Staff was friendly, and the order came out quick. The food was great, too. Will return with the platoon.
Favorite morning taco stop! They have the best tacos! They are large and delicious. They have tons of variety on their menu and I've never been dissatisfied with my order. They get busy but don't let the long line in the drive through detour you as they move it along very quickly. If your looking for great breakfast tacos or a good BBQ lunch, definitely stop in at Granzins!
Awesome spot! Love the BBQ and Meat Market. Businesses like this make New Braunfels great.
I had the brisket, egg, and cheese breakfast tacos. The flavor was out of this world. The green salsa was amazing! The only issue was that there was just too much fat left on the brisket slices. I wound up having to take it apart to pull out the fat. Still can't wait to try the other options based on the flavor of that taco!
I live in San Antonio and I make the drive up to have some great BBQ all the time! Definitely worth it for the price!
Excellent food nice portion (splitable )Tea was great not your usual weak tea 😋 And not overpriced
All their food is delicious, baked potatoes are big and you can add meat, longhorn fajita tacos are super filling and delicious just add some red salsa to it. And the fries don’t need anything else.
Such a great menu with Texas favorites. Breakfast tacos all day and BBQ brisket or pork for lunch and dinner!
Food was phenomenal! My kiddos loved the tacos and pulled pork sammich and we loved the 1 & 2 meat plates. Banana pudding was an extra special treat at the end.
Don’t skip the Tuesday Special-Turkey & Dressing! It’s the absolute best thing! If I’m not getting that my go to is the Chopped Beef Sandwich!
Had some badness in New Braunfels today and asked about a recommendation for drive-thru and local owned. "Granzin Bar-B-Q" was top of the list. "They are part of the Naeglin's Bakery Family", they said. Well take a look at this menu. See the Pit Boss Favorite? This is what Bill Miller's Po'Boy wishes it was, The Brisket and that fresh poppyseed bun are oooooo good (pic included) and the drive thru was quick. When the weather cools off git-u-some and take it to Landa park to enjoy with Granzin's sweet tea. Vaya con Dios Amigos!
I tried the Brisket at several BBQ places in the San Antonio area. This one was my favorite. Also happened to be the cheapest, so go figure. Had a perfect little smile ring, and just fell apart. The only thing I didn't like was the sauce. Luckily it did not need any to be delicious.
Their breakfast tacos are the best! Great portion size and they are always hot!
Great BBQ! Best sides any where, tacos are awesome and the fried catfish is the best.
Top notch brisket tacos. Perfect breakfast. Great meeting with the local amateur radio operators.
Went in for Ash Wednesday lunch and the place was packed and for a good reason. The line moved quickly and the service was great. I had the fish lunch plate with green beans and potato salad, fish was hot and very tasty and the green beans and potato salad were perfect. I always get the green beans and potato salad and have never been disappointed. There were 4 of us and all agreed that it was a good lunch
Outstanding food, mellow atmosphere, polite people behind the counter, and not bad prices at all for a BBQ spot. They get your order together pretty quick even when it's busy. There is a reason they've been around so long!
Granzin’s BBQ is a Multi-Generational Masterpiece!!! If you are looking for a taste of true local tradition, look no further than Granzin’s BBQ. This isn’t just a restaurant; for many of us, it’s a cornerstone of our childhood and a flavor that defines "home." From Sunrise to Sunset the food is Excellent!! They serve the best breakfast tacos in town. Whether you’re fueling up for work or a slow weekend, their morning offerings are legendary. As the day turns to lunch and dinner, the classics never miss. There is a beautiful symmetry in watching the next generation fall in love with the same flavors we did. The chopped beef sandwich remains a heavyweight champion for our family. It was my childhood staple 25 years ago, and it’s just as perfect today—so much so that it’s now the go-to order for my kids. Yes, the food is world-class, but the service and atmosphere are what make you feel like family. The staff treats you with genuine hospitality, and the environment strikes that perfect balance of being laid-back yet impeccably run. Granzin’s manages to do the impossible by staying consistent for decades while still feeling fresh. The food is even better than the excellent service, which is saying a lot. Support local and grab a tray—you won’t regret it!
Their BBQ is simply AMAZING! I stop every time I come to New Braunfels. Makes my mouth water just writing this. The chopped beef is my personal favorite. Their spicy BBQ sauce is to die for. I can't say enough good things. Just go!
The breakfast tacos are the bomb!! Packed full of all of it and delicious! The Granzin is my family’s fav….I think that’s the reason it’s at the top of the taco menu. The BBQ is also consistently delicious as well. The parking however, is a little tight for big trucks. The drive through is fast and friendly too. This family has been doing BBQ for a long time and originally from New Braunfels. Keep up the great work gang!
Excellent Texas Barbecue! More choices than your standard BBQ joint (TexMex twist). Brisket, sausage and chopped sandwich (huge) were delicious. Get the green beans as a side; they are so good. Slaw and fries were so good. Nothing was frozen or prepackaged as you will find with chain stores. We will definitely be back to Granzin rather than a chain. Staff are kind and friendly, sauces are perfect. I would give it six stars overall.
Always good restaurant to visit when I am in New Braunfels. Employees are friendly and clean restaurant. Lots of food to choose from on the menu. I get the Combo Sandwich which has Sliced Beef, Ham, and Sausage on a toasted poppy seed bun served with original Bbq sauce, pickles and onions. Really great sandwich with a Ice cold Tea. If not try the Longhorn Fajita Taco with Your choice of sliced brisket, chicken breast or turkey breast on a homemade flour tortilla with guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Another favorite of mine. Enjoy!
Got the chicken on salad bed. Was great. Good tasting chickens, and fresh greens. Had some fries, and they were spot on!

Food was good. Need more variety of fountain drinks. Service was fast. Cashier was nice but seemed tired.

Good food, employees have a great attitude, atmosphere should be updated. Seating is very outdated and should be reimagined into a more family friendly setting. I think it would increase their sales putting more people inside their little restaurant. But as for the food, it was really good!
I enjoyed the food First time here n the cashier after telling her it was our first time had the customer service of a rock When I asked her abt the sides she just pointed to the whole menu above her Not helpful at all it was almost like you’re bothering her!!!! So don’t expect great customer service ZERO personality but passing her the food was great!!!!
Nice staff, place was clean food was served quickly. My daughter had the breakfast tacos & I had the pancake breakfast. Tacos were a good size and flavorful. My pancake breakfast was filling pancakes were cooked perfectly, the eggs were a little bland and I wish they'd offered jam for the toast. Also it would've been better if they had served the pancakes on an actual plate instead of styrofoam. However not enough to keep me away, I will definitely go back and try something else.
Amazing deals and quality on all of the sandwiches, the chicken salad being one of my favorites. The brisket leaves much to be desired but it's priced accordingly.
The outside is nice. It gives that country bbq feel. Once inside we all got Bill Miller bbq vibes. Staff was not thrilled about taking my order. Desert was not ready at 11: so i couldn’t order. I ordered one of every side and the brisket. Craft mac n cheese is way better than their mac. Cole slaw was good, i ate it all. Macaroni salad was good to me but not to the rest of the group. Potato salad was not good to me. I ordered the Mexican rice to try but I’ll never understand why that is an option at a bbq place, just doesn’t fit in my opinion. Which brings me to the beans, any bbq place that uses pinto beans for baked beans gets a nope from me. Their beans are in no way fitting for a bbq place. The brisket was dry, i assume it was lean which can sometimes be on the dryer side but i would never get it again. Overall the price matched the quality, so i didn’t feel i over paid. I would call this the Taco Bell of bbq. Food and service is like a chain food service.
4 adults should never be seated by families with very small children. Waiter was excellent. Took so long to get the blackened catfish sandwich. My family was through with their lunch by the time mine arrived.
I've had a variety of different meals there, but my all time favorite is the loaded spud. Their tacos and Sandwiches are delicious and definitely worth a try! However when compared to loaded spud in my opinion, the spud dominated. Filled to the brim with whatever meat they offer (I like mine to be brisket filled), sour cream, and cheese. Prices are cheap and affordable, especially if your in large groups. The work place is sanitary and well cleaned, workers are nice and helpful, and bathrooms to me are pretty clean. So my experience with Grazin was definitely a good one. Definitely worth a try if your in the Texas area. 4/5
I had a pleasure to try Granzin Bar-B-Q at a party in New Braunfels last month. We catered in. The employees helped us to serve at the party. I am so grateful for the service. I am not a serious meat eater but I love vegetables. The sauce was definitely unique. The meat seemed smoked well and flavorful. Overall, I had a good experience.
The bbq turkey was excellent but the brisket was just average and I only say that because it was cut paper thin and was dry. The coleslaw and beans were terrific. If we do go back I'll get the turkey again and try the sausage.
It’s not the best nor is it the worst. For the price though it’s a good deal in a landscape where it can be tough to find a good spot for less than $15 and getting real beef. Solid 4 out of 5. I enjoy eating here (most important and keep coming back) and having a saddle for the littles makes it much easier to keep them occupied than regular high chairs. We enjoy sitting in the back room where it’s quieter and you can enjoy smelling the bbq/smoke in the back. (Not for everyone)
Play golf in New Braunfels this morning. Decided to stop here for a good barbecue sandwich. Hadn't eaten here in a couple of years. This is definitely the place to go in town for barbecue. The place is packed, the drive-thru is crowded, but it's definitely worth the wait. Even though it was crowded by food was delivered fairly quickly and it all tasted good. Today a sausage sandwich mac and cheese and a tea. Everything tasted great. Highly recommend this for barbecue when you're in town or even if you live in the surrounding area and make the trip over. Well worth it
The food is absolutely delicious. The service is not warm and friendly. It's nice that they have a drive-thru and a walk-up window. They can serve a lot of people at one time. If I was rating just the food I would be willing to give it 5 stars. You do get the vibe that the cashier is like: what do you want, here you go, next in line. That's sad. We sat outside, I really enjoyed that. I love the decorations. I was told that it's the same family as the old Bakery down the road. They sell some of the items from the bakery. The apple pie was absolutely delicious. The peach cobbler was really good. We will definitely go back. I hope the customer service gets better!
Lady at the register seemed bothered by us even being there and ordering - not even a welcome or hello. The bbq sauce did not taste good at all. Brisket was tender but dry, as were the pork ribs. T…
We came to New Braunfels from Austin for a track meet at the high school. We heard this was a great place to get some good barbque and were really excited to try it. Several of my family went to eat there on Saturday after the meet. The cashier was the worst! Horrible attitude not very welcoming and very rude! The food was ok but not great. All the food seemed cold from the brisket to the bake potatoes. The restaurant it self (atmosphere) was nice and clean. There are many options to choose from in Austin for barbque so we definitely will not try this place again and will not recommend it. From reading other reviews seems like the cashier is rude most of the time and nothing has changed so obviously the management does not care.
We have been regulars for years now. A great place to grab dinner on our commute home. Lately the service has been poor. Last night was the worst. Ordered half a chicken, got hone and only had a thigh and wing! Called the restaurant and was told I needed to bring it back. I love 20 minutes away and was starving!!! I was told they could not give a credit or refund unless I bought the chicken back! Boo. Bad customer service.
Not great. Lacking toppings and the sausage was barely warm. The best part was the bread. Everything else was, at best, mediocre. The line wasn't long but the wait was. Especially with the results being what they were. The order taker and number caller were great and trying their best. I think the kitchen needs an overhaul Mr and Mrs Owners. Very much underwhelming y'all. A great presentation of Texas BBQ as things go. The food killed the deal. I tossed the second half of my sausage sandwich away. Less the poppy seed bread. I ate that up. And no y'all, I'm not fishing for your sharpening business. Just an honest review
“Count your tacos”. This review rating is based on the food and service this weekend. We have been coming here for breakfast and lunch for years. The food has always been good to us. We use the drive-thru many times for our breakfast order. I normally check our order, at any drive-thru place, to make sure I get what I paid for, I didn’t this time. When we got home we called and informed them our order was short. We were informed we were wrong, the order was correct. The person said they filled the order and she always checks to make sure they are correct. Well the receipt and the order did not match but good memory with all the cars behind us. So next time I will check our order before leaving the window so don’t honk if you’re behind me or ask to speak to a manager who, I hope, would say “Sorry about that”. The food keeps bringing us back and I’m sure it will in the future.
Second time I've tried this place and it just isn't for me. The Carne Guisada was ok but I didn't care for the overly thick Tortilla. I totally did not like the Wurst taco. Sausage had a sour aftertaste. They have 2 types of Salsa, neither was hot. The pickled jalapeños had more of a kick. They are always busy. Which should say a lot of people like them and the tacos are huge. Just not the flavors I prefer.
The food is great! That’s why my family and I keep returning. But I just had a really rude experience in the drive-thru. I had no idea they were closing early (at 5pm) today. I went through the drive-thru, I only wanted to purchase a sweet tea (it’s also really good!), it was 5 o’clock on the dot. The girl on the intercom was pretty assertive- “sorry we’re closed now”. I apologize and said I wasn’t aware that they were closing early, but if there’s any tea, I would happily purchase a large. She said “no, we are closed”… but this time it was more aggressive and felt really rude. I apologized again, and drove away. Now, we will still return to eat here. It’s really delicious. But I just think that politeness can go a long way. No big deal that I couldn’t purchase a sweet tea, but it cost zero dollars to be kind.
I decided to try Granzin because they say they are the oldest BBQ place in New Braunfels. The food was okay for a neighborhood BBQ joint. It wasn't super busy and we came in after 2 pm. The baked potatoes were huge, the brisket was good. I think their main draw seems to be tacos, which I didn't try but they had a lot of different tacos on the menu. The problem is New Braunfels has so many great BBQ places to try it has a lot of competition.
My wife and I came here a few months ago and everything was great . The atmosphere and the food were really good. We drove an hour to bring our son, who happened to be home for Christmas break, so he could also taste some great food. Needless to say it started with my pulled pork sandwich which was very salty. I didn't want to take it back but my son took it for me and was replaced with a brisket sandwich which was ok . Nothing to brag about. My poor son had a pulled pork plate and couldn't even eat it because it was also salty and stated the Mac n cheese didn't even taste like Mac n cheese ,he said the only good thing on his plate were the green beans. My wife had ordered a peach cobbler which she had to go back to go get because they forgot to give it to us on our tray. When she got back to the table and opened the peach cobbler it looked like it had been sat out for a few days ,dry and not edible. Our first experience was 10 and today our son said this was a 2 rating from 1-10 . Very disappointed our 2nd experience was not the same as the 1st time. Sometimes we need to continue taking pride in what we put out. Also the floors were mopped with a greasy mop going by the soda station into the bathroom. It was unsafe to walk, so you had to walk with caution. Will we ever come back, probably not.
It’s pretty much average, from the food to the service. The prices are what you would expect and the food was good, but not great. I had a chopped beef baked potato and it was a solid average. It was good enough I would go back if I was with someone who wanted to go, but I don’t think I would pick it as a place to stop myself. With the prices being charged for BBQ these days you want more than just average. Maybe it was a bit of an off day or maybe it’s just an average restaurant. It is definitely better than any Bill Miller.
I got their chopped beef sandwich. Did not like it. Walk-up counter service or drive-thru. Very bare bones kind of place. More for quick lunch crowd.
We stopped at this restaurant on our way back home. We read good reviews about it. The restaurant has local a very appropriate rustic look Texan style decor. We were entertained by the many details that the design of the dining room because it gives you the atmosphere of a Texan place. In reference to the food, my personal experience, left me a not so great conclusion. I order a pulled pork sandwich that was on a bun that I requested toasted, and it wasn’t. The pulled pork meat itself was kind of , not cold, but not hot enough to to be enjoyed. . I had to ask them to reheat heat it somehow so that I could enjoy my sandwich. My husband order the baby back ribs. Not Surprisingly, the ribs were also cold. I recommend that they re-evaluate the recipe also since it was extremely salty, and the pulled pork had already a flavor in it and similar to barbecue. Unfortunately, we were not pleased with our dinner experience here. However, I encourage you to give you a try and probably Have a different perspective in your visit.
It is not a fancy Bar BQ place and the food is not the very best. It does provide some vegetables and things that are not available everywhere. The ambiance is not great but ok for what it is. The …

Rudest drive thru employee. Lady with short hair and glasses. As we paid my husband asked a question and she slammed the window on him, when she came back with drinks he teies to explain how rude it was but was interupted by her snapping saying"well im taking others order what do you want"?.... We said nothing now and left with our order wrong.. yall used to be so awesome what happen?!
Wow! I'm very disappointed. The brisket was very tough and dry. The ribs were chewy and hard to get off the bone. The turkey was good but cut extraordinarily thin. The sides were adequate, but nothing to really remember. The layout is dysfunctional and needs a serious rethink. There are so many choices for great BBQ in the area, I don't think I'll give this one a second try as I normally would. The owner needs to visit some competitors in the area and benchmark against them.
Their tagline says ‘it’s in the sauce and the wood’ … I got the Bbq loaded bake potatoe and asked before I ordered it if the potatoes are cooked soft. They said yes. I got it and it looked great, however, the potatoes weren’t cooked soft. It was done but it was a hard done. The meat (brisket) didn’t have much taste to it. It was a little better after I added some salt but still not great. The sauce was kinda plain too. (They did have some spicy sauce which I didn’t try). Overall, loving a good Bbq baked potatoe, this isn’t a place I’ll come back to. Luckily I’m in town on business so this review, although honest and not the best, it shouldn’t hurt them.
Tried a variety of meats and sides for dinner. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The brisket was grey, dry, and very tough. The ribs had almost no meat on them. Mac and cheese was runny almost like macaroni salad. The green beans were tolerable as well as the sausage, but still lacking in comparison to other BBQ restaurants in the area. We were not a fan of the BBQ sauces either, they tasted strongly of ketchup.
After my dad’s funeral service 40 + family members booked the private room in the back. Not very private as a family of 10 was in there. Also, they have the worst brisket it was very tough and tasteless so was the Mac & cheese, a lot of disappointed hungry mourners. The staff is working hard in the back but no personality or any hints of polite social skills in the front, barely acknowledged anyone. The sprite had some dark liquid coming out of it. I do not recommend this place for BBQ it is not worth the prices they charge.
We thought it strange the parking lot seemed rather empty. When we entered, we found a cozy family atmosphere and a friendly enough staff. There were only a couple of customers at 7 pm. On a Friday. The Service was quick. We had not been to Texas in a decade and were excited to introduce our teen to brisket. The tea was stale, almost rancid. The soda fountain was flat. The brisket was not flavorful, but passable. My daughter’s sandwich was not how she ordered it and cold. Fries were cold. This was nowhere near the quality we remembered from other restaurants years ago. I do not recommend. If a parking lot and dining area is near empty at 7pm on a Friday, there’s a reason.
I'm honestly not sure how they have 4.3 stars aside from a nice atmosphere and good service. The food is the worst BBQ I have ever had and would much rather go to Rudy's BBQ aka "The Worst BBQ" in Texas. Definitely will not be back. I got the daily special sausage plate with potato salad and green beans. The sausage tasted store bought, like the HEB sausage I have at home. The potato salad was great and the best thing we had at our table. The green beans were also solid. My wife had the chopped beef sandwich. Just call it a bad manwich and a day. It was bland and mushy. Our son had a rib plate with Mac and cheese. The ribs were bland and dry, no seasoning at all. Overall, good service but the food is just down right terrible.
Terrible Brisket. It was room temperature and the fat was hard/crunchy. There was more gristle than edible meat. Should not have been served. The carne grusada taco was good though and the only reason this has two stars.
I was really excited to try this place, but it wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. The service was okay. Definitely wasn’t friendly, they didn’t even look like they wanted to be here. I ordered a two meat plate with brisket and sausage, my sides were Mac and cheese and potato salad. My husband ordered the brisket sandwich with fries. ALL the food was cold. I took it back to the kitchen and i assumed they just put it in the microwave. Because by the time i got back to my seat, it was already almost cold again. And the Mac and cheese was still cold. My husbands food came back a little bit warmer, and they completely reused his food with the old BBQ sauce that he had put on it. The Mac and cheese was very watery I couldn’t even taste the cheese. Brisket and sausage was okay, I think the potato salad and fries were the best. The restaurant was somewhat cleaned but it was very stocked, which was nice. Probably wouldn’t come again, sadly

We were there for dinner. The food was not fresh. When I asked for fresh fries because they were cold, they literally kept the old cold fries in the bottom and put fresh ones on the top. The m…
I ate here while visiting from Denver Colorado, I was not at all impressed. The brisket was so tough that you could've pounded concrete. I'll pass the next time I'm in New Braunfels.
I was really craving brisket and decided to give this place a try. Big mistake. I ordered a Brisket sandwich and a Brisket taco. The Brisket was gross. It was thin sliced like roast beef. The only reason anyone in their right mind would thin slice Brisket is to cover up how tough and dry it is. And it did not taste fresh and smoky like it should. It was definitely several days old and reheated. Also, BBQ SAUCE DOES NOT GO IN A TACO. Plain, Guacamole or Pico would be a better choice. Even bean and cheese but NOT bbq sauce.
I come here all the time because their food is good Especially their tacos! But my BIGGEST pet peeve is any taco I order with cheese, I never see any cheese in my tacos My daughter ask for bean and cheese and she ends up crying because it’s literally just beans! Paying 30$ for 5 breakfast tacos you would think there would be everything you asked for!
Food is fantastic. But, before going to pick up for our staff lunch I looked online for pricing. By the pound, brisket was $6.00 and turkey was $6.00. When I went to pick up. Price was by the pound, brisket $23.95 and turkey $19.95. 2 hours later We finished staff lunch and now most meat prices have been removed.
Food was good but when I asked questions about the food and condiments the front desk girl got upset with me. She did not answer any of my questions and when I was trying to figure out where everything was, she showed me away with her hand. I came with family for an afternoon adventure and lunch, since we are from another state. This ruined my mood , therefore my experience as well. Would not recommend a place that doesn't appreciate their customers!!!!
For a 2 meat plate of chopped beef and brisket slice i got 4 thin slices of brisket sent husband to counter to see what was the mix up she flat out lied to my husband and said the chop beef is the sam as the brisket slices when asked how it was a 2 meat plate with 4 slices of brisket she bring out a small cup of old chop beef (actual chopped beef) chessy mac was watery. The lady who took the order had a attitude that we even said something about the meals my husband was the same way ill add pics when I arrive home was so disappointed I just packed the food up. Im headed home writing this review ps a 40 min drive was not with it
Out of baked potatoes. The sliced beef sandwich was filled with fatty, flavorless beef. The worst BBQ I have had in New Braunfels. Sooooo overrated. Dry Mac n cheese
I ordered the 2 egg special with sausage and potatoes, Well the eggs were served cold . Than the nice cashier said they are working on another batch of eggs , so she asked what I wanted in place of the eggs, I said a brisket taco. She come back with warmed eggs, well even those tasted like crap! The refried beans were good and well I can make better fries potatoes! My husband said the brisket wasn't all that! Bad day !
What in the world? Finally decided to try this place after seeing it for 20 years. I should have kept on driving by it. It was like the Twilight Zone inside. I wasn’t even sure if they were open on a Monday at 5 PM. Not one single customer inside, they’re all in the drive thru? Also, some wonderful gentleman that either works there or does business there(?) was so nice to beeline on the sidewalk and cut in front of me and my daughter as we walked in the door, only so that the staff could make us wait and then move around him? Unreal. Customer is not first here. If this is an employee, even worse. I almost left before I walked in! Extremely rude. I should have walked. We ordered a whole chicken and they weren’t even sure if they had chicken. They had to check twice before ringing me up. That made me nervous. Our food was extremely salty and greasy and pretty much gross. They also asked me if I wanted bread, pickles onions and sauce. Like I want a whole chicken just plain??? Overall I am unimpressed heavily. In fact, I’d say I’m disappointed in Granzins. They have a great meat market but this restaurant is questionable. Also the parking lot is a maze that proves difficult to enter and exit. I would not return and I would not recommend this place to family or friends.
The signs out front are very misleading. Who voted and made yall the #1 BBQ spot around? Not very personable at all.... Felt very rushed to order. Got a mix of pretty much everything. Everything was dry and THIN?!? Everything...Why do yall slice every bit of your meat sandwich paper thin??? Potato salad is the best thing there. Sorry for being so brutally honest, I simply feel the #1 signs and the hype are very misleading.
I drove an hour to try this place recommended by a friend. I order one pulled pork sandwich . I was asked “ pickles or onions”? I say no pickles please. What I open up and start eating down the road was a pulled pork sandwich with no onions full of pickles . No pickles is even written on the receipt!
After 5 yrs of not coming now I know why 1 food cold 2 my brisket was floating in coleslaw juice The service is not good 3 parking is hell Bottle sodas over priced And 4 after you get your plate with bread that is on top of the coleslaw wet ask for 2 more slices 25 cents more after they did that No Thanks need to reinvent BBQ cuz it's no good
Orders 1 sand which and 1 taco . Drove 20 minutes home and back to resteraunt. Called in advance to talk with Daniel the manager and he was surprisingly rude with how he handled the situation . Seemed to not care at all . Born and raised in new braunfels and actually worked there when I was younger. I guess people dont care about customer service these days .
I was so disappointed!! For TX that was the worst Bbq I have had. The Mexican bowl was beans and fatty meat from the butt. And nothing had any flavor. Bill millers was about the same as this. I really wanted to like them but totally missed the mark.
As in this place is known for great barbecue idk what happened to my plate today the brisket was cut razor thin and had no flavor quite possibly the worst brisket I've ever had however the ribs were decent. Bad batch of brisket or something cause I am shocked at how bad this brisket was. Definitely the worst brisket I've ever eaten
So the pork ribs were cold and tough as hell. The flavor was ok. The brisket was cold dried out and that's because I asked for marble. The potato salad was below average and the Mac and cheese was average.
Super disappointed after seeing all the great reviews. I got the 2 meat plate with brisket, sausage, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. Also ordered a sweet tea. The Tea wasn't very sweet and was half way to sour.... The plate wasn't much better. Brisket was unseasonably dry. And sliced as thin as lunch meat. I've never had brisket sliced that thin in all my life. The sausage was ok, nothing to rave about. That mac and cheese was very milky. No cheese. The potato salad on the other hand was bangin!! I'd stop by just for the potato salad but other than that, I have no idea why people go on and on about this place. However, they're still better than Bill Millers.
