An upscale restaurant hidden within a shopping center. Some of the items can be pricey at over $20. But most items fall under $15. The staff all have uniforms and acted cordial. They have both an outdoor and a semi-enclosed outdoor sitting area. There is also a bar. Will be tying this place again.
I know most of you have visited The Reel for some delicious seafood, but did you know they do Sunday brunch!!! Wow! $3 Mimosas, $4 bloody marys, and a really great menu. Our waiter Luke was awesome too! This place continues to amaze me. Excellent food, excellent service, and great atmosphere. We had the Creme Brûlée French Toast and The Reel Texan breakfast. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced. This place is a REEL true hidden gem on Sunday mornings. Brunch starts at 10am! You will not be disappointed!
Our first time here and absolutely love it! The food was delicious we had the stuffed flounder and the scallop, shrimp flounder. We had peach sangria and the texas tea drinks. Everything was excellent. Our server Madison was the sweetest and most charming server. We truly enjoyed our experience here and will definitely come back again!
My husband and I took my parents here on New Years to celebrate their (Dec 31st) 60th Anniversary. We were not sorry we did. We ordered the lunch specials which were $12.00 each and it came with iced tea. I ordered the grilled shrimp and grits. Yummy!!!! The grits were soft and tasty!!!! The grilled shrimp divine!!! The service was spectacular, the restrooms clean and the restaurant as a whole was clean. They are keeping all Covid standards as well!!! I recommend this establishment highly!! Went back 1-1-25. Amazing again! The Seafood is A+! We had the lunch specials. $13.00. A beverage was included. Great service and wonderfully clean. The atmosphere is very nice!! Thank you!!!
Pleasantly surprised by the portions and great flavors. Although possibly on the pricey side, the flavors and techniques were flawless. I had mahi mahi, which was excellent but the star of the dish was the etouffee. The roux had excellent depth and pushed the whole dish from so-so to something I will go back to try again. The bar served an excellent vodka dirty martini, which helped with the wait for our table.
The best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Quick service as well, went on my lunch break with a coworker and had plenty of time to eat and make it back to work. 5/21/23 Stopped by one of my favorite places to.dine in and was not disappointed. We even ordered the Creme Brule to go. After having more time we enjoyed our dessert in house. Luckily, we did because one creme Brule was over Brule-ed, in which our amazing server replaced and delivered it in its original dish. It was superb!
Great food and drinks! They had great sangrias, Hurricane tasted great but for the price didn’t have the normal kick a hurricane usually cokes with. The food was great, only downside my wife called out was the grits. They were very dry for grits and not runny at all. If your a big grits fan, might skip on the grits. The double bone pork chop was top notch and we intend to split that next time. Banana pudding was great as well! I’d likely also opt for dirty rice instead of au gratin potatoes that came with pork chops, too cheesy. Very good though all around and plan on repeat business!
Appearance- clean, friendly, cozy. Outside seating. Hostess- one friendly, helpful, professional... one, not so much. Chewing gum, (open mouth chewing smacking), shugging shoulders rolling eyes, not professional. Waitress- friendly, attentive, respectful. Ordered- house margarita, water, dozen oysters (only had the more expensive ones), citrus salmon worth house salad (in house homemade blue cheese dressing). Margarita was what was expected for a house drink during happy hour. Salad was good, blue cheese dressing was good. Oysters were good smaller than the "big" ones advertised in the menu, but the flavor made up for the size. Samon- cooked medium set on asparagus- great flavor! Even though the asparagus was large, it was grilled and tender. Portion was big enough to fill me up. Five states, even with the hostess smaking gum. (She was not my hostess or if have to go 4 starts) Food and experience was worth theprice, even with the more pricey menu.
The Reel Seafood & Grill was a pleasant experience. We sat on the patio. Our waiter was professional and competent, caring for several tables and neglecting none. I had the Redfish Jambalaya and my wife the Citrus Glazed Salmon, both were good choices. Plan on $30 entrees; a moderate price for a very good evening.
Another great place that goes under the radar. From the outside, it doesnt look like much but the cooks can throw down! I had the Red fish Jambalaya and it is on Point! Large portion of Fish, shrimp, crawfish,, roux and rice! It did not disappoint! My husband had the lunch portion Fish and shrimp Tacos. This dish comes with Two Tacos and they allowed with no additional fee to make one Shrimp and one Fish. We didn't upgrade to the $6 Mahi Mahi but will be giving that a try the next go. We did have to ask for bread and butter. It use to come while you waited but this time I noticed that the customers had to request it. The Sweet tea isn't too sweet, it's just right. It is quite pricey but I say it is worth it. The Redfish Jambalaya was big enough for two people to share. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. In this heat, we chose inside but I am sure it is a nice spot in the evening.
5 stars are not enough to describe the food at this scratch kitchen eatery. The fried shrimp was outstanding, but the stuffed flounder with lump crab stole the show. You would swear you were dining in the Big E. Service was extremely friendly and on the ball. An outstanding experience for a first visit and only 5 minutes from my home. I have found nirvana in New Braunfels. Give it a try. Update: 11/5/23. So breakfast brunch at Reels. Our previous "To Die For" omelet was the spinach and shrimp omelet at Magnolia Pancake House. Well, put that one on steroids, add crawfish, and more eggs. Then cut the hour and a half wait for a table to 5 minutes, and you have the Reel's Fondue Omelet. Outstanding taste and texture, then add great service, and you are set. You will not be disappointed.
Made reservations for seven, only waited ten minutes to be seated. Bryan was our server hands down best server we had here he was friendly outgoing, and very helpful with the menu. We started off with the seafood fondue it was so good! If you haven’t had it get it. For the entrées we had the shrimp brochette, almond crusted redfish, and the flounder pontchartrain. We left feeling very satisfied. We will be coming back.
Today we decided to come here for the first time on a date but also as a belated holiday meal. We had never been here before and didn't know what to expect. As other seafood lovers out there are quite aware, that seafood restaurants are very hit and miss. I was completely blown away by the flavors and quality of everything that we ordered. Our Server Cierra was beyond exceptional and very kind, as well as extremely attentive. She went above and beyond and We were very impressed with her service. The music was good and the restaurant was clean and quiet. Hands down a 10/10 experience. Hands down one of the best restaurants that I have been to and easily in the top 3 restaurants I've been to in the state of Texas. We can't wait to come back!!!
Absolutely fantastic! So glad to have a great seafood restaurant this close. The high marks on reviews are justified. I expect a great meal if I pay a high price. Too many mediocre eateries charge a high price. The Cajun cream sauce on my Flounder and Scallops was outstanding! I also recommend the Reel Hurricane. Staci was highly professional, very attentive, and super courteous! Definitely returning. *Note: We had a minor problem with one of the four dishes. The manager came by and resolved the small issue immediately. She was very friendly and accommodating.
Definitely great service and atmosphere but the food is exceptional. I have been here twice and it is above average seafood. The appetizers are incredible. The Fondue, crab cakes and seafood balls are a must. I had stuffed flounder and it was right on the money. Just a great overall experience.
Food was excellent. Service was great.
It was our first time here on a recommendation from a co-worker. When we walked in we were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. The restaurant is quaint, but beautifully decorated. They also have outdoor seating even though we sat inside. Our waitress, Jordan was awesome. She took time to go over the menu with us and make recommendations. The food was delicious! I had a lobster bisque which had large pieces of lobster in it. That's the first time I've experienced that. And the flavor was delicious. I had the stuffed flounder dish and again I was not disappointed. I felt like we were at some super expensive place. The food was that quality. And the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back and we would highly suggest you try this little hidden gem.
Food was delicious, the manager and server was amazing. The food was alittle too spicy for my fiance and they gave her steamed white rice to cut it with. It made all the difference. My food was a little greasy but it tasted so amazing. We brought the spiciness up and greasiness to our server and she asked the manager to come by and see how we are. He was very polite and respectful. Eat here for great food and great service.
Excellent experience. We were in the area and decided to try The Reel Seafood and Grill. The oysters were great, my shrimp etouffee was great, and my wife’s founder and shrimp were great! And our server was Justin, and he was great too! The first half of my life down on the coast was filled with great gulf seafood, so I know good seafood when I find it. And despite all the seafood places, finding a good one is not easy. We enjoyed our meal so much … and being that we are oyster lovers, and their oysters are incredible along with everything else, we’ll be back!
I've given five stars before, but this time I'd like to give more. The food is outstanding. The wait staff is excellent. I think our waiter's name was Adrian and he was there whenever we needed anything. Food didn't take very long. Everything was just great. If I had to give any criticism, it would be that they don't have a dessert that's made of chocolate. Lol
The Rainbow Trout was VERY good!!! Oysters were excellent as well!! We’ll definitely be coming back!! My compliments to the chef!! 👌
We have driven by The Reel many times coming and going from events in the area. We finally stopped in for a to-go order. Better than average fried shrimp and fish but generous portions. However, the citrus glazed salmon was amazing: cooked perfectly and so well seasoned. The asparagus accompaniment was sublime. Pretty pricy food, but well worth it.
The service and the food was great. We've been a few times during lunch, and every time I try a new dish and have not been disappointed. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean, and the wait has been minimal. There's an outdoor patio for diners to enjoy when the weather is nice. It's definitely a spot we'll frequent.
Had a really great meal and the service was fantastic. My only complaint was that our meal literally came out within 2 minutes of them bringing out our salad and appetizer (ding a star for that). Highly recommend the seafood fondue.
Food quality is always good no matter what time of day you go. It is our go to place to eat. Everything from seafood to steak there is something for everyone. You can't go wrong.
The food and drinks were so good! Oysters are a must at this restaurant! Our server Bryan was PHENOMENAL!! We couldn’t be happier with his service. We will definitely be back. Ask for Bryan!
Good was great, old fashioned were generous, and service was exceptional. We will definitely be back! We had the stuffed flounder and pecan crushed redfish.
Brian was our server. Our meals took a little longer and he apologized several times. We completely understand and were very impressed with his concerns. We were just happy to have a good meal out. Meals were excellent. Very reasonable prices.
We ate here a while ago and honestly weren't impressed. We were in the area a few weeks ago and I was craving salmon. So we stopped in for lunch. We noticed the oyster special on Tuesdays and had to try it. This is now our go to place! Very accommodating for my dairy allergy. The oysters are huge and the house margaritas are amazing!
Brandon, my waiter, was top notch. Polite, charming, knowledgeable, funny. An amazing asset to this restaurant. The food is good. But I was very impressed with him.
Our experience today was amazing. From The Host seating is promptly and allowing us to pick where we would like to sit..to our server Bryan being super attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I mean he offered everything from examples of appetizers to cocktails to recommendations on main courses even dessert asking if we needed to go boxes and asking if we want to drinks to go I mean this guy was just amazing. The food was hot fresh and delicious. My boyfriend and I came here on one of our first dates when we first started dating and now almost 5 years later we're back and the food is just as good and The vibes are just as great as the first time we came making us feel so welcomed and alive. Thanks for always giving a great experience.
By far this place has the best seafood ever. Being from the West Coast and near the ocean i had my doubts. Once we were seated, our waiter Bryan (Beyond Anazing) took us on a journey through their menu. He offered suggestions and answered questions. Management if you are reading this, dont lose Bryan, his personality and knowledge of the menu was awesome. Give that man a raise. Back to the food, I ordered the flounder stuffed with crab meat. The flavor was perfect. I could go on and on sharing about this amazing restaurant, what ill leave you with is this, if you are in the area, do yourself a favor and visit.
Today we took my elderly Aunt out to eat here. It was fabulous. The food was good ...but our server, Bryan, was over the top. He made our visit so much more than we expected. His personality, smile, upbeat attitude and overall timeliness enhanced our experience. My husband and I have dined at this establishment many times since we moved here from Houston....but today's visit TOPPED the charts. Thank you Bryan for your stellar service. Jackie and Trevor
Nice place. Very extensive menu. Lot's of different seafood options as well as great choices for all you land lovers. Service was very good. Portions were very good, I felt they were on par with prices. Salad comes with dinners, that's a plus. We'll be back.
The Reel is hands down my favorite restaurant in New Braunfels! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—whether I’m craving seafood, steak, or one of their daily specials, it never disappoints. The atmosphere is relaxed but polished, and the service is always warm and welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. It’s my go-to spot for date nights, dinners with friends, or even just a solo treat-yourself evening. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!
We came in with a party of 11, and the service was great! Our server was patient, knowledgeable about the menu, and prompt with refills and pre-bussing our table. The family seemed to love their seafood entrees, and the couple cocktails they ordered. The Redfish Ponchartrain and the Parmesan Crusted Salmon were the stars of the dinner! I am looking forward to coming again for some Fresh, Lunch Oysters!
This was our first time coming here and we were NOT disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was great! I wish I could remember our servers name, he was fairly new but did a great job! Did I mentioned the banana pudding was on point and probably one of the best I’ve had?!?
Absolutely phenomenal experience! My son and I stopped into The Reel on a whim, having never heard of the place before — and wow, were we blown away. The food was expertly cooked, with sauces that were clearly made from scratch and full of flavor. The fish was exceptional — we both devoured every bite on our plates. I tried both the large Margarita and the Prickly Pear cocktail (highly recommend the latter!), and both came out beautifully presented. My son mentioned his sweet tea wasn’t quite sweet enough — though to be fair, I make ours so sweet it’s practically crunchy at home 😂 — but a few sugar packets fixed that easily. To top it all off, the crème brûlée was absolutely incredible — probably the best I’ve ever had. Our waiter, Cory, was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. All in all, The Reel far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys perfectly prepared seafood and great service. We’ll definitely be back!
First time here, this place blew my mind!!! Our server was a great kid, knew his dishes, and was VERY attentive. The food was OMG so good. flounder with scallops 9.6! Wow The other people in our party were happy and their food was on point! Oh, yeah… and those crab cakes!!!! 😘 Thank you The Reel for making our evening a really good one!
The seafood is cooked perfectly here! We love Lorina, our server! Even better, it's in my hood & don't have to fight downtown NB traffic.
Bien
Quaint seafood restaurant. Nice and quiet during lunch with a decent lunch menu. The menu is varied, so there is more than just seafood on the menu. Salmon salad was good with the addition of fruit and sweet pecans. Recently had the chicken pasta and won't bother with that again, I will stick with the seafood items in the future Will definitely be back.
The food and service here are excellent! I've been twice for brunch and once for dinner. The fried catfish is the best I've had in town. Better than the place supposedly known for catfish. The only reason to knock them a star is ketchup. Ben E. Keith ketchup? Come-on. Even Wendy's serves Heinz! It's criminal to have such good food and serve distributor grade generic ketchup. I'll be back but I'll bring my own ketchup.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with this place but that's the issue, nothing stands out. It's decent food and kinda expensive for what you get. The one thing that drove me nuts is I ordered a beer and the pour was ridiculous. Take a look at the photo. Like, where's the rest of it...?
Loved this place!!!! It was me and a friends first time and from beginning to end was fantastic. I believe we had Tana as our waitress? Super friendly, gave a great recommendation to start with the fondue….was more than happy to get a dog bowl for our friend Monty who joined us. The oysters were BOMB, just overall we had a great time there. Especially on a beautiful day like today but she was very attentive and lovely. I wrote on her receipt I hope she has a great rest of the week because showing your appreciation can go a long way for somebody in their line of work. We will def be coming back to try their grilled chicken pasta and other happy hour drinks :) Thank you so much again!
To start with, ask for Andre. He's friendly, informed, helpful, and he's engage without be intrusive. Have a go at the Gulf Coast oysters. Sweet, minimal brine, and basically amazing. The parmesan encrusted salmon is flavorful, and the creamy avocado topping adds additional levels of flavor. Highly recommend... cheers!
I am not a seafood enjoyer, though the rest of my family is. They loved the food here hands down one of the best seafood restaurants around. The staff are quick to answer any questions, and are helpful. I order one of the non-seafood dishes, Steak with garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked correctly, however it did have a slightly fishy taste. They do make sure to cook them separately, for allergen purposes. My family loved, loved the fried shrimp and the seafood platter. They will definitely be going back. Price wise, it is a little bit more on the high end however you truly do get what you pay for food is fresh and delicious.
Grabbed dinner Saturday night with my wife at The Reel Seafood and Grill. I was impressed with the excellent service and food. I ordered the lobster bisque and mozzarella bites to start, and both were tasty. I got the halibut and shrimp. It was cooked perfectly, was juicy, and flavorful. My wife got the sirloin steak and added shrimp (off menu) to it. She enjoyed hers but would have liked more steak enhancements on the menu, especially a surf and turf option. The red potatoes au gratin that came with the dish seemed to be very minimal of diced potatoes covered in cheese.
Went here for brunch on a Sunday and enjoyed the outdoor seating. I had the stuffed flounder which was delicious! Initially I thought it was kind of small, but it was decently stuffed and so was I after eating it. My husband and youngest kid had gumbo which they enjoyed. My mom had blackened catfish which she too enjoyed. The rice looked bland and the beans were slightly overcooked in my opinion. My daughter had french toast which looked and tasted delicious per her report. My son’s burger was a little thin, and he didn’t eat it all as he normally would. Overall we enjoyed the restaurant and the service was very good. The prices were reasonable. Feeding 4 adults, a teen, and 1 kid ran us $160. Will definitely return when in the area.
Good service. Wait wasn't that bad. Food was good. Drinks are good. I drank margaritas. The server was really nice. And came to ask often if we needed anything. Desserts are good. We ordered cheesecakes. 2. 1 praline and 1 bluberry. I definitely be back here. The only thing is that they were out if garlic bread for the fondue. So we got regular bread. They even have an activity for kids to play with while waiting for food.
It was surprising how good this place was. My hubby wanted grilled fish for lunch (you know - to be “healthier”) and they delivered! The Almost Crusted Redfish was beyond delicious and neither one of us are huge fish eaters! The texture and flavor were amazing. The buerre blanc sauce made the entire dish. The fried shrimp where also tasty - lightly breaded, split and crunchy. The only downside is we went on a Sunday and the lunch menu was only available during the weekdays. The prices were a tad steep for us so we will just need to plan to go on the weekdays in the future.
Overall we had a great experience. I had requested a table that would not be in a high traffic area. We were seated at a great corner table behind the main dining area. It had a view of the patio. It was very quiet and our server was top notch. The wine list was good. We ordered a bottle of French Rose’ we had not had before. It was perfect and paired great with the seafood. My guy had a half dozen Blue Point Oysters to start and I had a cup of the Seafood Gumbo. Both were delicious. I could make a meal with the bowl of gumbo. Their roux was excellent and everything melded together perfectly. And the spice: Perfect heat. The Wedge Salad was really good and the blue cheese was smooth. If you love a wedge salad get it. We decided to share an entree and the kitchen was kind enough to split everything for us! The presentation was very nice. We ordered the Flounder and Scallops and the whole dish was decadent down to the dirty rice. Yum. Yum. We will be back!
6/2025 update: Delicious dinner with shrimp enchiladas and seafood salad. Lobster bisque. Large portions . The shrimp enchiladas was very flavorful and good. It is spicy. The seafood salad was loaded with seafood and deliciously enjoyed. Prices are high. Service was great and friendly. We had catfish and shrimp which were delicious. We sat outside and was really nice and comfortable. My only disappointment was we ordered calamari, which at $17, it had only 4 small rings of calamari and rest was breaded cauliflower, zucchini and pickles. I really love calamari and was expecting just calamari. All the food was presented beautifully and was all delicious. Service was great. Catfish was tender and not greasy. Shrimp were moist and great too. Cocktails were perfect. Salads were plentifully and delicious. Food was plentiful. I recommend.
Sunday lunch. Chicken and Waffle had moist chicken with a light crispy exterior over a waffle that was soft with great flavor. If you are not a powder sugar fan, remember to order without. The breakfast platter was good although the potatoes were not crispy and had very little flavor this visit. The fried oyster appetizer had light crispy breading and was enjoyed. The grits were not a favorite of this Louisiana girl or her Ohio husband. They were very different in flavor than traditional southern cheese grits. Cute decor and we were able to hold a conversation.
Depending on what you order this place is anywhere from a 7/10 to 10/10 Calamari- 10/10 the breading was crispy and the calamari was not chewy Lobster bisque- 10/10 Cesar salad- 7/10 Stuffed flounder- 7/10 we were not impressed with the stuffing Flounder and scallops- 10/10 Bread pudding- 7/10 they put chocolate syrup on it and it made it way to rich. I have never ate bread pudding with chocolate syrup on it. Creme brulee- 10/10 We plan to come back, but there are just a couple of things we won't order next time.
We have been enjoying meals at the Reel for over a year, and consider it one of the best seafood restaurants in New Braunfels. We have sampled every dish on the menu and have yet to find one we dislike. However, we have noticed a trend in recent months: the fish is frequently overcooked, though still tasty. Additionally, the oyster shuckers seem to be leaving behind excessive broken shell fragments and a significant amount of oyster meat within the shells.
I had the Reel salad, the shrimp was perfectly seasoned and blackened. My friend had the fried catfish and grits. Our waitress was nice enough, she was tending bar as well, so getting her attention for service was challenging.
Had lunch here with coworkers and the food was amazing! Felt like the waiter kept disappearing on us and my district manager had to try to find them so we could order dessert to-go and head out.
After a few visits this last one really disappointed us. We went on Saturday before Mother’s Day to avoid a rush and enjoy our time together. We really like their patio area and we waited to be sat out there. Our main issue was our server who was a little rough around the edges. On a few occasions she gave us short, snappy answers and when we had questions she made us feel like we were wasting her time or she had better things to do. Looking around, poor body language. When we ordered we had one of the plates changed from the crawfish platter to shrimp étouffée and the waitress said “no problem”. When the meal arrived we felt like she was just throwing the plates down at us. She had a lack of courtesy and customer service skills. Once our food arrived the seafood fondue was great as well as the stuffed flounder. One plate was blackened mahi-mahi and the rice was exchanged for vegetable medley and the vegetables seemed like they were not fresh, maybe frozen and the portion of vegetables was small. The mahi-mahi was dry and we needed butter to help palate the fish. The crawfish platter was not changed to the shrimp étouffée. The waitress said she misunderstood and thought we wanted the crawfish exchanged for shrimp but it couldn’t be done -in which we should have been told rather than brought something we didn’t want. In either scenario that entree was not correct and in the end she gave us 25% off of that plate. Over all we left really disappointed and dissatisfied with the experience here for such a high bill.
The service and atmosphere was great. The place is a small and quaint place. My family ordered the shrimp and grits, stuffed fish, salmon, and tilapia.
Nice place inside was roome. Wait staff was nice. The food was pricey. Never had a 25.00 salad. Or a 17.00 shrimp c. The gumbo was so spicy with pepper 🌶 could not eat it. Won't be back.
Tonight was our first time at The Reel. I ordered the stuffed flounder with creamed spinach. The creamed spinach had no flavor at all. The flounder and stuffing had a layer of what tasted like chili powder and that's about the only flavor I could get out of it. The cook of the fish was well done but so bland. It had 2 tiny slivers of avocado. I was really excited because it looked great but was completely disappointed and only ate about half because I was hungry. My son said his burger was ok. My husband's steak was tough and cooked med instead of med rare. The potatoes had an overpowering bacon flavor (didn't know that was possible! ) My husband does not eat salad so the server said he could exchange a side instead, he chose asparagus. A good serving size of asparagus was brought but it tasted like burnt ash. Shocking because it looked good but had a horrible burnt char taste that I couldn't get past. I ate half of 2 pieces just to see if the first one was bad but it was the entire side. I was surprised when the bill arrived and I had been charged an additional $7 for the side of asparagus that was literally inedible. I got a Togo box and loaded it all in (server looked shocked that I mixed it all) I brought it home and fed it to my pig. Over $80 spent on dinner (not including tip) and we all left with no desire to return. Positive was the inside was nice, server was prompt and my toddler liked his corndog.
The service was good. Server was very nice and prompt with taking our order and keeping our drinks filled. Not very many people there so it was kinda quiet. They have booth seating as well as tables. I ordered the shrimp etouffee without rice and a side of creamed spinach. My husband had the redfish Ponchatrain. (That's how they spell it) My shrimp etouffee was ok. The shrimp was peeled and deveined and was good but was just ok. The spinach itself was ok, but the cream "sauce" was as if they just added 1/2 a tablespoon of bland milk but had a yellowish color but there was no butter flavor. Heck, butter would have tasted better. I had the lunch portion. The redfish looked good but was just ok, kinda tough. The sauce on the redfish was not good at all. The sauce tasted like flavorless gravy and had a grayish brown color. The consistency and taste was off. It was horrible. I'm sorry to say that but I've never tasted a sauce so bad for a dish like this. It's like the chef that day forgot to season the sauces. I really don't think their pricing justifies their food.
Came in Sunday after church for the first time, table wasn't clean from syrup. Had to wash my sticky hands from the table and one sink was broken and there was no paper towels for your wet hands. Where is the quality control? How did the employees dry their hands. Not a good first impression.
It was not busy, yet it took over an hour to get our food after ordering. The food was immediately sent back. I didn't make any special requests or modifications, but my dish was made with different ingredients than what was stated on the menu. When I finally received the shrimp and sausage pasta that i ordered, it was overcooked and mushy. It tasted like, and had the texture of being microwaved. It was inedible and after being in this restaurant for over 2 hours, I left hungry.
Went here for a birthday dinner and was not impressed. I found 3 small circular pieces of CARDBOARD in my meal. They were out of all their steak options. The calamari was mainly fried onions and a little bit of squid. My husband and I spent $200 on what I felt like was low quality food- compared to Dallas or Costal dining. Would not ever go back and do not recommend.
Went for a weekday dinner. Issues: 1. Ordered Chips and queso. Ridiculous amount of salt on chips. Told server and requested chips with no salt. Received new chips about 5-10 mins later. 2. Ordered a miller lite. Got a bud light 3. Ordered fried catfish. The fried batter was just falling off the fish every time you went for a bite. Fries over salted. 4. GF received an entree that wasn’t on the menu. Not sure how that even happens lol she said it was still good and ate it anyways. Server was very nice.
Food and cocktails were both less than fair. A sweet cocktail was salty. The salad was not as described and not as ordered. The oysters were good. The main course was lovely in appearance but flavor was bland and dry. The manager and wait staff stood near by chatting as we tried to get assistance. I have enjoyed my previous experiences, but will not return. The bathroom faucet was missing a hand, I was unable to get a towel to dry my hands and no soap was available. The whole experience was like a comedy of errors that was never ending.
Not great. Waited for about 5 minutes for a bar seat. Not terrible. However, when I was seated, the prior guest's trash hadn't been cleaned out. Okay. Rough start. The menu I was given was dirty, and when my shirt elbow ended up in a grease smudge that hadn't been wiped up from that same last guest, I'd had enough; I excused myself and left. I know the economy's in rough shape, and we're all short-staffed, but this was beyond what I could handle. Honestly, a pretty disappointing ten minutes. No clue about the food. I didn't get that far.
This is what $35 Atlantic halibut & shrimp gets you. The Salmon we ordered was even better than this. The shrimp was undercooked on the inside and the “lump crab in a cup” was disgusting. Waste of $35, I could get this on the gulf twice the size and 10 times better quality. Very disappointed.
We arrived around 4:30 on Sunday afternoon and the restaurant wasn't busy at all and our waiter let us know our food would probably come out right away. After coming to our table twice to let us know the chicken tenders for our two kids were the hold up but should be out in a few minutes. Then another worker came to our table as well to notify about the delay. He didn't let us know if he was a manager or just another employee. After waiting over 30 minutes we finly received our food. The food was just average nothing spectacular. The one star is for the slow service. A table of six arrived the same time as our table of four and were just about done when our food finally arrived. Another group near us that ordered when we were notified of the delay the third time received their food around the time as us. So I'm not sure if the delay was not having adequate cooking staff or our waiter didn't put our order in right away. We definitely won't be giving this restaurant another shot since better options are available in the area. Just wanted to inform others of our experience.
We read the great reviews so we wanted to try them for the first time. Beautiful restaurant when we walked inside. We noted that they had a lot of empty table for 7 pm on a Saturday but got a drink and waited for a table outside. We waited at the bar for 20 mins to be seated (bar tender was fantastic and very nice). Once seated outside the hostess said a waiter would be with us. We waited for 20 more minutes at our table and received zero service. There were 2 separate waiters outside and neither said anything to us. We then decided we would leave since we weren't receiving any service. On our way out we asked for a manager to inform him we had waited 40 minutes and not had our order taken and he didn't seem to care. He apologized but made no effort to keep us in the restaurant or make anything of our experience better. We are extremely easy to please and super disappointed that we couldn't get any service for anniversary dinner.
