A woman working at Soren Christensen Gallery told us about TFK and recommended their Charred Cauliflower appetizer. Ok, she RAVED about it. It was only a five minute walk from the gallery, so once there we asked if we could wait for our bike riding friend at one of their outside tables. I ordered a non alcohol Sparkling Prickly Pear Tisane which was very refreshing. Sorry, I can't recall what my friend had to drink. Once our mutual friend arrived and secured her bike, we ordered the cauliflower appetizer, and spoke with the hostess who got us an indoor table fairly quickly. The cauliflower was very tasty, but I didn't find it rave worthy. Next time, I'd go with the Brussels sprouts. One of my friends ordered the butternut squash soup as her meal, the other had the Cauliflower Polenta Bowl, and I had the Ancient Grains Bowl. We were very impressed with the bowls and the soup. I normally avoid chain restaurants and I most likely wouldn't have tried TFK had a known it was a chain, but I didn't know that and I'm glad I didn't. It's a large open space with calming decor- plants , green and sustainable wood. Good service, too! This will be my go to for healthy delicious food in New Orleans alongside Carmo.

This vibrant eatery stands out with its colorful and nutritious menu, offering a wide array of whole foods that cater to various dietary preferences. From fresh salads brimming with organic produce to hearty grain bowls and inventive veggie-packed entrees, every dish is a celebration of wholesome ingredients. The spacious seating arrangement is a major plus, providing a comfortable and airy dining environment perfect for leisurely meals or catching up with friends. However, it's worth noting that the service can be a bit slow, especially during peak hours, which may require some patience. We were heading on foot to our apartment, are new comers to this town, and came across this restaurant. We were starving, so we went in to get some lunch. What a wonderful surprise. We ordered the charred cauliflower with Harissa and Tahini sauce, which was fantastic and delicious, followed by a fantastic tomatoes soup for our appetizers. Our main dish was a Poki bowel with wild caught Tuna and veggies, and the Ancient grain bowel with farro, quinoa and portabello mushrooms. The different textures and flavors were amazing. Our taste buds were delightfully surprised. We found the price fair. These dishes were a a well done creation of flavors, we will definitely go back. Service was perfect

Delicious healthy dishes where you can add on a good selection of meats. True food provides you with the option of really tasty dishes that are light and easy. The cocktail range is also great with some unique blends of Ingredients that you'll want to order over and over again. Super friendly and helpful staff. Expect to pay ~$40-$50/person.

The perfect dinner. Healthy food, bright and colorful restaurant, good service and very kind staff! The food was delicious as well! Alittle expensive for just myself but I would go back in a heartbeat!

So good! Flavorful, healthy, and yummy! I will return for more. My sister and I ordered delivery and it was right on time. If you love organic, clean ingredients then this is your place.

The pizza was fabulous, hands down. The steak tacos my hubs said were good but the sauce from the corn drowned the taco so it took away from the taco. The male hostess we had was fabulous! He gave our kiddos brand new toy cars. The beach party drink was quite refreshing. I'd definitely recommend it.

The food was amazing, and so was the service. I love the Environment its a wonderful vibe it's healthy. I don't get immediately full when I eat, which I love! the Mac n cheese is so good. me and my mother. Loved it

I'm petite but my inner greedy girl is huge! I enjoy this spot so much— great drinks w| great food to match. I first went here a few months back and have been hooked ever since!! Pictures attached are from my first time but still oh so good food. Today I tired the turkey burger w| kale + brussels sprouts and a side of butternut squash soup. OMGEE. The roasted Brussels sprouts are aaaaaamazing! I could eat those by themselves all day. My eight month old loves the soup. The turkey burger was one of the best I've ever tasted. I was so satisfied w| my meal. While there I asked the barmaid to make a Pomegranate martini (which isn't on the menu, but she hooked it up anyway!!) loved it!! Always a good place to stop by:)

This place was suggested by a coworker who's a little high maintenance, so I didn't know what to expect. I was impressed as soon as I walked in. The joint is stylish, with a wide open space and colorful decor. As I usually do with my first time trying a place, I get the burger. It was juicy and flavorful. The parmesan cheese was a good change of pace to American or cheddar. The umami potatoes were great too. A friend got the spicy curry bowl, with tofu, that she did not like. I tasted it and really enjoy the flavors. It needed a little salt, but I thought it was delicious. The sourdough flatbread was a little crunchier than I expected, but it had a good taste. Our server Elijah was attentive and professional. An all around great experience

After a few days of eating rather badly in New Orleans, this place offered us healthy choices that didn’t disappoint. Fresh chicken soups, tasty kale and ginger drinks, and poke bowls to die for. Friendly wait staff too!

S

They made the spinach mushroom pizza as a panini upon my request, and WOW that was delicious! A bit pricy for the amount of food you get, but so tasty. With their almond ricotta and caramelized onions. Great vegan lunch!

We were there during the busy lunch crowd on Sunday. Just arrived from Columbus and the Airbnb was not yet ready for us. So we gravitated towards True Food. Had to wait for about 20 minutes but the wait was worth it!! We had the Korean noodle bowl and the burger, recommended with cucumber salad. Both are tasty and satisfying. The chili in the Korean noodle is just right and tofu topping is great. The kale drinks are very refreshing. The flourless chocolate cake topped with ice cream, I think had roasted coffee bits, served with coconut caramel is excellent. I think the caramel was coconut caramel, not too sure but whatever it was, it was perfect. The staffs are friendly, informative and very helpful. Will definitely go back before we leave New Orleans. Hopefully they will open an outlet in Columbus soon!!

Had lunch here on a week day. We were able to sit outdoors in the amazing weather. Our server, Caitlin, was great. We had the butternut squash soup. It was OUTSTANDING. My hubs did the turkey burger with sweet potatoes and kale salad as sides. I had the butternut squash pizza. All was very fresh and delicious. If you are looking for some healthier fare in Nola or a vegan friendly restaurant, definitely give this a try.

Good food! The chocolate cake with ice cream was yummy. The all American burger was good too. The pizza was yummy too.

Very pretty place. Super clean! Amazing vegan choices. I will say that the food was very salty in general and both my friend and I's tongue was sore from how salty everything was... Never had that happen before. It's a bit pricey, but the cookie and ice cream was delicious! Everything else was sort of bland and too salty.

Really enjoyed are stop here, both the food and drinks were really good! The service was also nice and went quick. This is a bit more of a healthy food place but still had alot of different choices on the menu. Liked the set up, it is nice and open inside the place with plenty of seating. Wasn't to busy when we got their. It did start to pick up a bit but didn't slow up the service.

We had a great dining experience at this True Foods. After being in area for 4 days and eating local southern food, we were ready to go back to our Californian roots. When we saw our beloved True Foods within walking distance to our hotel, we had to go. When we arrived early in the evening, the place was pretty empty. We had our reservations expecting it to be as full as their California locations. We were seated to a booth and our waitress brought us water. The menu is well designed each item market as vegetarian, gluten free etc. We had appetizers, drinks and main dish. Everything was healthy, high quality and well done just the way True Foods always been.

Honestly, YUM! Wish this were a local spot near me because I would come back over and over. Fun colorful environment, and delicious food! I had the Turkey burger with a side of kale salad and the kale ginger tonic tea. Was with 2 other people who also loved their meal. Wish there were more restaurants like this that make “good for you” food that still tastes so yummy and leave you feeling full.

True Food Kitchen is a great restaurant for the more health-conscious diners, offering a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. A rare find in New Orleans, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was very tasty, though I wished the portions were a bit larger.

A wonderful accidental find in New Orleans. A downpour had me jump into the closest restaurant - True Food Kitchen. After a week of overindulging in traditional New Orleans fare, I felt like I had just had a food spa! Even though I ordered a burger, it was low fat, high quality ingredients, accompanied by grilled vegetables instead of the almost inescapable fries. It was delicious and so refreshing. The restaurant was spacious, very clean, modern and comfortable. A really great range of dishes including vegan, salads, multiple proteins and cakes. I very much recommend!

The food was bursting with flavor! You could definitely taste the ginger or hibiscus in the refreshers. The waitress told us they’ve that the manu was recently change . We had the hummus, guacamole, and salad - all absolutely delicious and healthy. I hope they keep expanding!

This Mother’s Day I visited the true food kitchen and it exhibits exactly what the name says TRUE food kitchen. The food is true to whatever it is. It’s nothing like your normal restaurant where food is overly seasoned & masked with marinades it’s fresh and healthy. I was impressed with the variety of meat options as most places don’t have bison or chicken sausage & it was no pork on the menu at all which doesn’t bother me since I don’t eat it but I loved the chicken sausage! The roasted cauliflower was absolutely amazing & my first time eating cauliflower& it was so phenomenal!!! My cousin had the bison breakfast pizza, it was cool but it didn’t have any pizza sauce so that was underwhelming for him. The edamame dumplings were flavorful and innovative. The avocado toast was great and flavorful but not too seasoned where u can taste the freshness of the avocado!! The 2 egg breakfast was good wish the eggs had a little seasoning & the toast was very very crunchy but overall the plate was good. The salad with tofu has a beautiful vinaigrette dressing it was light and flavorful. It was really nice. My cousin also said the bowl with the steak being the perfect addition. Would love to visit again. The dragon fruit lemonade was freaking incredible!!!! Absolutely nothing compared to Starbucks!!! The açaí smoothie was a little gritty but thick and enjoyable. The green tea was beautiful in presentation and very delectable

I haven't been here in a little minute, but I will be going more often since Macee is here! We sat at the bar with her and all of her recommendations were top notch. She knows what she's talking about! Very sweet inside and out, and my good day turned great after my visit. We got a matcha latte (I love the earthiness of theirs), "bright eyes" refresher and the OG to drink and then the watermelon seasonal salad to start! Then, a grass fed burger and turkey burger! I love how clean everything is. You can taste the difference! Thanks Macee!

The food is top quality at the NoLa restaurant. The staff was warm friendly and attentive. Priced are reasonable. Strongly recommended.

I am the first person to admit I don’t eat vegetables. I came to try a seasonal pizza I saw in the reviews but it was no longer available. I ended up ordering the ancient grain bowl + steak. Tbh I was thinking about what I would eat later bc I knew I wasn’t going to like my meal. To my surprise I loved it. All the ingredients brought their own layer of texture/ flavor to the dish and they all complimented each other so well! The sweet potatoes added a nice sweet flavor, the char grilled onions and peas added a nice crunchy texture to the dish. The pistachio pesto was semi acidic and packed with enough flavor to season the whole dish perfectly. I did add steak to my bowl (which was not needed) and it was over cooked and tough. Will definitely eat here again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at True Food Kitchen in New Orleans, following a fantastic experience at their Scottsdale location. Once again, True Food Kitchen exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely amazing, and I have to say, the service was almost as good as the food, thanks to the delightful Caitlin who tended to my table. She exuded that wonderful southern charm that adds an extra layer of enjoyment to a dining experience. When it came to drinks, I ordered an Old Fashioned, and they really know how to do it right here. The balance of alcohol was perfect, and the presentation added to the overall experience. For starters, I opted for the cauliflower dish, and it instantly became one of the best cauliflower dishes I've ever had. The double vegan cheeseburger was delicious, although a tad heavy on the sauce at this location. The patties were cooked to perfection, and I appreciated that they weren't the "beyond" or "impossible" patties, but the excess sauce made it a bit messy. However, it was still quite enjoyable. The Kale salad, served as a side, is a must-try. The dressing used worked wonders in balancing out the bitterness of kale, turning it into a dish I couldn't get enough of. And since their roasted potatoes are also fantastic, I couldn't resist ordering a side of them as well. True Food Kitchen in New Orleans lived up to the exceptional food experience I had in Scottsdale, and this time, the service took it to another level. It's a great spot for us vegans, especially when dining with friends who aren't plant-based. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting, and I hope you have the pleasure of meeting Caitlin during your visit.

Our waitress described this place as an oasis among the heavy dishes known in the majority of the area, and she was absolutely correct. We needed something light, healthy, fresh, and vegetarian friendly, and we were ALL blown away by the quality of food and flavor. I enjoyed a mocha and ordered a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl with chicken. The birthday girl shared her squash pie, and although it wasn't my favorite, several at the table loved it. Our server was TOP NOTCH. I can't even describe how wonderful she was. Attentive, knowledgeable, charismatic, and full of information about the restaurant, the menu, the city, and beyond. Truly a delight.

What a nice restaurant with a cool vibe atmosphere. We had dinner and started with the roasted Brussels sprouts that were delicious- I typically don’t care for Brussels but these were so tasty! We also had the buffalo chicken ranch salad and portobello mushroom vegan burger with kale salad. All really fresh and delicious. Peach mojito drink was yummy and my husband had the house old fashioned that he enjoyed also. Our server Jay was excellent!

It was our first time visiting New Orleans and we were looking for healthy options. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious dishes at True Food Kitchen that we ended up going twice in a couple of days. Annalisa offered great suggestions and service. We enjoyed salads, curry plate, charred cauliflower, dumplings, and the Ancient grains bowl. Also, highly recommend their non alcoholic cold beverages!

I was stuck staying at the Hilton Riverside for a conference and was DYING for healthy food. I found True Food Kitchen and it revived me. I got the ancient grains bowl with double avocado and added tofu -- it was exactly what I needed. My server (Demi, according to my check) was also an attentive delight. Thank you, True Food!

It was a nice day, of sales& networking. Never ventured out this way, but this place was suggested by the manager of the place I was showcasing in. I was asked, how I’d like my burger… that to me, makes a difference. My fries were air fried& the sauce on my charbroiled beef patty was tasty. The fries were seasoned, nicely. Will, return on the 25th with friends after my event.

This place is great, the staff is so thoughtful. Chloe sat me where I could watch the parade through the big windows while I had a quick dinner. The food was yummy, I had a couple of veggie starters as my meal. Meal the brussel sprouts were a little spicy the way I like it, and the cauliflower really hit the spot with the added texture of the pepitos. I'm really glad we decided to post up for the parade by this restaurant and I will definitely be back.

M
Maryum Mitchell

Absolutely LOVED everything about this restaurant! The first thing you notice is the open and earthy atmosphere. Then the friendly staff and peaceful vibes. Then the amazing food and drinks that are so great for your soul. It’s a teensy bit pricey but 100% worth it! We took a Lyft because parking didn’t seem feasible, so just a note there.

True Food Kitchen is one of my favorite places in Houston, so when I found it in NOLA I knew it would be a safe bet. Super gluten-free and dairy-free friendly — and delicious! To my surprise, they even had local New Orleans dishes adapted to their style, which I thought was brilliant. We stopped by in the afternoon, so we shared a gluten-free, dairy-free pizza which, despite my dad’s skeptical look, turned out to be so good he couldn’t stop eating it 🤣. We also enjoyed their classic GF/DF cookies and the pumpkin pie. It was a bit cold inside the dining room, and our server was handling all the tables alone, yet she still managed to give us great service, and they even adjusted the temperature. Always recommended!

Aviance was amazing. She waited on a table of 17 and was very organized despite the short notice. She made sure everyone felt confident in their order due to it being their first time here. When we comeback, we will definately ask for her services again. Thanks so much Aviance

We enjoyed some wonderful, veggie-centric offerings, beautifully cooked, before a parade. A little relief from the more carnivorous offerings we'd been enjoying around town.

Aviance was the sweetest! The food here is scrumptious and healthy! Everyone was really nice, the place was CLEAN, you didn’t have to scream over music and again, the food was delicious! When I make my way back to NOLA, this place will def be on the list of places to eat!

Hello. My name is Derrick and I went to True Food Kitchen today was amazing! My burger not well done like I asked, and it was no big, but my sister told the server and next thing I know the manager came out and literally took it off the bill. He told me he believes in making sure his customers are highly satisfied. I couldn’t believe it!! Everyone was so kind and they aimed to please. If I lived in New Orleans, I would be a consistent lifetime customer! It’s also very beautiful and really clean there. They get five stars all across the board for me!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is THE spot if you're vegetarian, vegan, or just looking to be healthy (they serve sustainably sourced proteins of ALL sorts). The grain bowl and french fries were underwhelming but the Tuna Poke bowl and Guacamole were excellent, and overall just grateful for all of the options to have fresh crunchy healthy options of all kinds here! Definitely worth a visit!

I thought my chicken was a bit tough on the chicken parmesan. The flavor was there, just not the tenderness. Wine was excellent, and my wife lived her drink with crushed rose petals. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

J

The food here is excellent. For me it was the best place I could find in New Orleans with healthy choices. My only complaint and why it lost 1 star is the portions are small for the price. Other than that it was such a nice place to dine during the day or the evening. I mainly ate the bowls and always added protein which made it pricey but yum. I had desserts which I don’t normally do. The cheese cake was really bad - not real cheese cake just a sloppy mess. The chocolate cake was yum!

K

Loved the food here and friendly service. The ambience is really good and the place has an open feel. Wish there was a better view from the large windows! They had only limited vegetarian options, but tasted great!

5/9/22: Stumbled upon this place after our first choice was full. Really great fresh menu. Service is friendly, a bit slow. Food was very satisfying. Cocktails were delicious and refreshing.

I had a chance to go to True Food Kitchen. I got the Pesto Pasta, Sweet Potato Mash, Matcha Horchata, and Pink Lemonade. The pesto pasta was delicious 😋. The flavor of the pasta was perfect. The sweet potato was ok. I was not too fond of the matcha horchata, so I got the pink lemonade instead. The pink lemonade was good. The atmosphere was beautiful. The staff was friendly.

F

Great place for a chill and delicious brunch, while still being somewhat healthy. All the ingredients were very fresh. I tried the horchata matcha and it was surprisingly delicious, fully recommend it. The huevos rancheros were very tasty but have a lot of spices so if you don’t Ike that I’d recommend another option. Salmon and avocado toast were amazing!

Really solid food and lots of healthy yet tasty options! Came here for lunch with a friend and we had a great time. I had the green chile burger but with the grass-fed beef instead of the turkey patty. It was amazing! Very juicy and flavorful. The kale salad that it came with was kind of plain. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the kale salad and the prices. I felt it was a little pricey for lunch and I didn’t even order one of the more expensive options. I really liked it though and I’m fine to pay a little more for quality ingredients from time to time! I also split the Olipop Root Beer float with a friend which was also solid but again you’re paying for a healthier/cleaner option than a traditional root beer float… the ice cream in it was delicious though.

S
Saffron Hartley

Good food with a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. It’s a bit upscale — the pizza was $17 and the bowl with tofu was $19.50. The pizza toppings were great, especially the almond ricotta. I didn’t like the pizza crust, it was too thin and cracker-like for me. The bowl was great, though the tofu was a little more “blackened” than I would have preferred. But the grains were great and the sweet potato was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is really nice, great lighting, not too loud but still lively

K

True Good - Definitely Recommended. Now thats a place were food is an experience of flavor, service and crafting. From the taste of their serving dishes one can say they obtained their ingredients fresh and carefully cooked to retain the flavors and nutrients. Simple elegant interior, comfortable seating, and welcoming service together makes your visit worth of an experience.

R

Rarely say this about a place, but our waitress was our favourite part of this restaurant. She was a real gem, and gave great suggestions for what to order. If the service was faster and they didn’t run out of the food we wanted every time, I’d give this a higher rating. If you have no evening plans, and you like eating healthy food, this place is for you.

L
Lauren (Rose)

Great restaurant choice for ppl with restrictive diets and/or health conscious! So many choices and lots of vegan options. Wide open atmosphere with lots of natural lighting, decorated very nicely with greenery and floral accents. Service wasn’t the best, but I think our waitress was overwhelmed, seemed like she had a lot of tables. Lots of seating available and can accommodate large groups. The ancient grain bowl was a definite hit, would definitely recommend that. The edamame dumplings were okay. Glad to have restaurants like this in the city.

The True Food Kitchen in New Orleans is very similar to the one in Dallas but the service and Food quality was not good at all. Both excellent choices, but something was off when I ordered takeout here. It was supposed to be ready at 6pm, but when I arrived they were running behind and I needed to wait. I had to wait 30 minutes, so at 6:30 it was finally ready. The salmon I ordered was overcooked and hard enough to pick up to eat. We were disappointed this time and hope it was a one off and not an every day example of the one in New Orleans.

D

It was pleasant. Butternut Sage soup was awesome. A little noisy from the kitchen. The only issue was inside temperature and condensation tripping on table otherwise a win!

(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) 2/28/26 edit to add: I really appreciated the follow-up from the GM! We spoke and he resolved the issue by talking to staff earlier in the week and assured me that future orders won't have the same issue. (⭐️) 2/22/26: True Food Kitchen has been a staple in our household for awhile. Their food is delicious! I use their pistachio pesto to help meal prep for a very busy work week. However, after the way both my fiancé and I were treated both on the phone and in person by staff when placing a to-go order today was unacceptable and will prevent us from returning. First, the person who helped me on the phone told me "I'm about to crush your dreams but we don't sell that" when I wanted to place an order for a few sides of pistachio pesto, which was not true since I have ordered this several times without an issue. My fiancé called shortly after and we were able to place the order with no issue. However, when he got there, the employees "negotiated" how many sides of pistachio pesto he was allowed to get, telling him he was "pushing it", and then proceeded to tell him "Your fiancé didn't like the answer we gave her so she sent you" in a rude tone. We are very understanding people and if y'all didn't prep enough of the pesto or there was another reason as to why we couldn't purchase it today an honest response about the limited quantity we could purchase for today would have gone a long way instead of giving us a hard time about a small order. I do not recommend this location because of their customer service.

Awesome food quality, good selection, casual but comfy setting. Possibly the only resto in town that serves grassfed beef dishes. Take out area wasnt too self explanatory for me, i thought diners could sit there but they cant... Some subtle service glitches (lack of attentiveness and i was addressed once as "sir" by bartender w mild covert aggression under politeness when i came in wearing a hoodie). feels understaffed every time i go here. They dont let you sit at a table even if there are empty spots and they force you to sit at the bar even if its a bit crowded if you are by yourself. If you want a table, have someone else w you. Expect longish wait times for food and mildly inattentive service (i have always had to try to get their attention for anything, the staff is busy doing their thing or getting orders together and no one is dedicated to attending to diners who might need something (or maybe i am the only customer w more than the usual requests)1. The bartender apologized to a couple of ppl at the bar for the delay w food service and checks in to see how ppl at the bar are doing. they are accommodating w requests, although when i asked for a well done steak one lunch time, it wasnt quite well done and i had to have them cook it a bit more. Noise levels are comfortable, not too loud and ppl dont need to shout to be heard. I love that there are plants inside. Sticky floor near the cash register; they cant bring a card machine to the tables. Doors are v heavy. Otherwise a great place for meals, i always go here when i visit.

Great atmosphere and setting. Service was great. Only issue, my food was SUPER salty. I could feel the salt grains. This has happened in a NJ location.

The pizza was so dry, I didn’t like everything what we ordered. I appreciated the the concept of having everything vegetarian.

We recently ordered takeout from True Food Kitchen, and while the food itself was fairly good, the experience left us frustrated. The estimated pickup time was listed as 10 minutes, but we ended up waiting closer to 50 minutes for our meal. If I had known it would take that long, I would have ordered much earlier. The lack of communication about the delay was really disappointing. As for the food, we all liked our meals overall, but one thing that stood out (in a bad way) was that they folded my pizza. Not sure if that’s a standard practice, but it was weird and kind of messed with the presentation. Good food, but the pickup process and handling of the order need improvement. Would hesitate to order takeout here again unless these issues are addressed.

We were walking down the street at like 8.40pm and walk past that restaurant, so we decided to go in for dinner but no one told us they’re closing at 9pm so we sat at our table and they were stressing us to order and acting little annoyed. After a few minutes the waiter finally said that they’re closing in a few minutes so we would have to order now. Which is totally understandable of course but they could have just told us earlier or in a nicer way. Then they didn’t had the things we wanted to order and when we ordered something else they told us if we can have it a little different so it’s faster to prepare. We said of course and after a few minutes we got a really small portion, that was a bummer since we were starving. It’s kinda expensive for that small portion which you get, taste was good though. While eating we noticed two little mice running around on the floor which was a shock for us…

My wife and I are both trying to eat more healthy. That's why we chose this restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was VERY bad! We waited approximately 20 minutes for a table. After being seated we waited another 10 or 15 minutes for a waitress to even bring us water and in order to get our drinks refilled we had to flag people down because no one was coming to our table to check on us. They were out of the first appetizer that we chose so we ordered a different appetizer but it was served with all of the rest of the food. None of the food was served hot! The quality of the food was good we enjoyed the flavors of everything we ate. I will say the meatloaf is a must try. We may go back at some point to give them another try and hopefully things will be much better. But this was not a good experience. Especially in a town that is known for its food.

Server was super accommodating when the dish I tried was overly salty and not pleasing at all, which was the Korean noodle dish. Switched out for the salmon market salad very $$. Overall, chic and mediocre food. Fruit files swarming me

Sorry to add to the chorus of moderately negative reviews, especially at this time that I know NOLA restaurants are struggling. But it was such a contrast to the amazing experience we had at lunch today in the Garden District, I know it should not be this way. So I am actually being generous here. We sat at the bar because we were told they were pretty booked up with reservations. Seemed that booths remained empty behind us, but fair enough. I ordered the Panang curry bowl with blackened shrimp added. My wife ordered the Korean noodle bowl (uninspiring) with salmon. My bowl, looking like hers, came without the shrimp. They fixed that, and it was only later that I realized I did not at all have Panang curry but the Korean noodle bowl. How do you mess that up, in two ways? To their credit, they removed the charge, just not the utter disappointment of our expectations for a good meal delivered properly. Can’t recommend.

Food is ok. I visited this chain in other cities and not upto the expectations I had from past experience. Service is not great. First they didnt guve us appetizer olates and waiter doesn't even look at us. We called another waiter after waiting for 3-4mins. Then, they charged us twice for same drink, then the waiter realized that I was looking at bill and said dont worry about it, got another copy with correct count of drinks. This time, they added an $1.25 extra than menu price for a drink and manager came to say that the price went up (really ! For just 1 drink on card? Not believable but we didnt argue much). Also we asked to replace one of the side from salad to fries and they charged us as an extra side.

We really wanted to like this place. The restaurant itself looks fantastic, clearly a lot of time and money went into creating a cool, modern vibe. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the atmosphere. The food was just okay and definitely overpriced for what you get. Two turkey burgers and two non-alcoholic drinks came out to over $60 before tip. The burgers could’ve used some seasoning; nothing stood out flavor-wise. Service was mediocre at best. Our server was consistently slow to come back, whether it was taking our drink order, our food order, correcting the wrong food, or even bringing the check and a box. Each step took 10–20 minutes before we saw them again, which added up to a frustrating experience. Would we come back? Probably not.

Almost threw up my burger was so undercooked (ordered medium) fries were cold and weirdly textured. Cheese on burger was unmelted shredded cheese. Multiple wrong orders delivered to table. Waitress was inattentive. Espresso was burnt. Nice atmosphere, very artsy, so many plants that it smells like dirt inside.

Look, I’m trying to be better about what o eat, so I came here to I could track my nutrition more easily than at other restaurants when I was too busy to cook dinner. Friends, this was the worst burger I ever had in my life. Flavorless, mushy bun, sad arugula. It’s okay to toast and char stuff to get more flavor on the food—it won’t add calories, promise. Also, this food is expensive! I don’t plan on ever coming back. Serves me right to be lazy enough to not cook for myself. I view this is as lesson to meal plan better in future. This terrible burger was all my fault! 😂 Never coming back. Surly staff, and the interior makes it feel like you could be anywhere.

The food was good, but the service wasn’t up to the mark. We ordered drinks along with our food, but the drinks were never served (though we also weren’t charged). There was a large group of 10+ people, and the staff seemed focused on serving them. While the staff was polite, we felt we didn’t receive enough attention. Better service coordination would really improve the experience.

Premium prices for mid at best food and service. We are locals and decided to try this place as we were craving something healthy. First of all, they were out of several things, including the vegan burger patty which is why we decided to try it, and we're not informed they were out until after we ordered it and received our appetizer. The cauliflower appetizer we got was quite good, but the rest of the food was bland, underseasoned and the proteins were poorly cooked. Service wise it was even worse. At the end of the meal I wasnt even sure who I was supposed to be tipping because the initial waitress disappeared after drinks and never came back. I had to flag someone down after sitting with a drink for twenty minutes for a straw. It was 4pm so the restaurant was NOT busy. Finally, there are live plants in a long planter in the restaurant which meant we were inundated with flying gnats for the entirety of our meal. We will not be returning, there are far better options for vegan and vegetarian food in this city, especially at that price point. After a modest tip it was still over $130 for two adults and two children with no alcohol drinks.

Ordered my to go salad at 1:30pm and was still waiting for it after 2:20pm. There were no courtesy offers or any explanation for the wait. Why did a salad take an hour to prepare? The employees didn’t even apologize for the wait. The salad was great but the service is horrible.

C

Very rude staff who takes ages to seat you (the place was rather empty when we went), take your order and serve the food, especially as a foreigner (Americans who came after us were seated and served immediately). The food was ok but I was given a latte as a capuccino, complained about it but they simply do not care about their customers.

I’m so tired of restaurants giving terrible quality Togo food. I placed an order tonight for 2 burgers; one vegan and the other was the American burger w/o cheese. My food was cold and looked disgusting. I opened the burger to see that cheese was placed on the burger but scraped off. And it was cold! I did not get 3rd party delivery. I called and they were pleasant on the phone and apologized, and offered to give an adjustment bc of their mess up. Instead of them refunding me for the meal (Burger and lettuce (listed as a small “salad”) (~$20)) or even just the burger portion; the adjustment was for $9 and some change stating I wasn’t satisfied w/ the burger. Of course I’m not, I COULD NOT EAT IT!!! I was able to scrape some of the cheese that was still on there off with my finger. So disgusting and disappointing!

Ordered a vegan butternut squash pizza and it arrived undercooked. It also clearly had real cheese rather than the advertised lemon almond ricotta. When I asked the server, she stated she had already asked the chef about this and he melted the almond ricotta. If you’re vegan, you know you can’t melt almond ricotta to the point of looking and tasting like regular cheese. It was also missing the raisins as stated in the menu. Have had this menu item so many times at other TFK locations and this was definitely not vegan, and not done right. Service was incredibly slow and it seemed the server was just not interested in actually helping. We sat without drinks for 20mins and another 15 to get our order.

9.6.25 came here for the first (and last time) The food was very, very Salty which made it unenjoyable and INEDIBLE. We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer. My bf had the turkey burger, and I had the air fried chicken sandwich. The air fried chicken was breaded...and salty. 😔😭 All of these items were just too salty to handle. The building is beautiful and clean, but that's about the only thing that I can rave about. They do offer unique drinks. Skip this place unless you really love salt and sub-par expensive food.

Pick up order- The side Chicken was good. My kid had that. Picture shows 2 cookies & got one at a high price- misleading. Tasted good though. It is costly. We wanted something lite & healthy. The shrimp was NASTY. Couldn’t even get it down. Another misleading picture. NOT fresh look NOTHING like side menu pic. My daughter ran in we had an hr. drive home, was working in area. The outside looked so cute was a disappointment!! It was dark assumed was fresh & tasty like menu pic. Took a bite. It was rubber texture & not cleaned with poop shoot. I’m from S.FL & I know shrimp from there & here!! Tasted terrible, had to spit it out and keep driving no time to go back. Also prices of juice are crazy. Robbery didn’t get a drink. Trying eat healthy on go & see this spot, thought we found a new spot. Spit one out. My kid shared her chicken saved to show. Worst esp being a single mom where the let down also waste $

Heartbroken ! True Food Kitchen is one of our favorite restaurant ! We used to look forward of dining in to this place every time we are in downtown New Orleans area . But not anymore, our recent visit was not very pleasant that I regretted of walking few miles to get to this place after such a bad experience. We came around 5pm, were seated right away . There’s only 2 tables that are occupied , the restaurant is not busy at all. We waited for 1 hour to get our food . Nobody check on us to assure that our food are still coming , my children keep asking when the food is coming, I jokingly told my husband that I’m about to walk away and eat somewhere else , didn’t get any refills not till after our food came . We asked for medium cooked burgers and came to us well done . The fries are cold and tasted like cardboard. For the price of the food we expect better. We’re so disappointed. They didn’t even offer if we want any ketchup or any condiments . Our waitress barely check on us . My husband was still very nice that he left a decent tip regardless of the service as he worked as a waiter on his younger days . We’re not coming back I hate to see that a used to be a nice restaurant going bad like this one .

As a local who cannot eat in most restaurants in New Orleans (gluten + meat free) — it breaks my heart to have such terrible service that I have to reconsider ever coming back. My friend has experienced cold food on a number of occasions – which is a separate issue and constant disappointment , but on this night my half of my food came out (a salad) and it took 50 minutes to get the primary reason I suggested we eat there — salmon. The manager came and offered an empty apology suggesting that a large order for a basketball team that came in well after our order, was a priority, despite their late arrival and ordering well after our table. When they went to leave the chef was begging them for a good review — disregarding the regulars for one off guests. It was incredibly upsetting, mismanaged and disappointing. I think it actually just comes down to treating people well vs trying to use people you deem more valuable to get what you want. Imagine this — treat everyone well AND serve hot food and people might spread the news about this otherwise great option in New Orleans. You have the rare opportunity here to cater to a demographic that has SO FEW other options. And you fumble it with basic human decency. Thank God we have a few gems like Lamara and Sneaky Pickle/ Bar Brine that can both meet the needs of people who need different options and prioritize treating all people equally.

I give credit where credit is due. Food was good. Atmosphere was decent. First time I came here, got seated, waited 30 mins to get served, never gotten served, took a to go order and water almost 40 mins to get 2 burgers.

I really wanted to like this place, but the service was abysmal. We waited 15 minutes to be greeted by a host. Half the restaurant was empty. After being greeted, our server, who was very kind, took our orders right away. We waited over an hour for three kid’s cheese pizzas. When they arrived I was told they were out of my bowl and my husband’s burger was almost ready. I ordered a burger replacement and we waited another 30 minutes for our meals. They never came. We notified our waitress that we would like our check and never got it. So we went to the front to pay for our pizzas and left. I think the crazy thing is the staff didn’t seem to care. They gladly took the money and didn’t even apologize for the 2 hour service with no food and not a single drink refill. I can’t decide if the slice of cheese pizza that I snagged off my kids tray was good or if I was just so hungry that I didn’t care. Eat here if you have no where to be ever.

Just attempted to eat the most disgusting and flavorless turkey burger I’ve ever had in my life. A Costco quality patty that had o flavor and had the consistency of rubber, a cold bun, way too much of whatever slippery sloppy dressing and instead of avacado? A smear of guacamole…..not the same thing. One bite and I threw it in the trash.

Service is absolutely terrible. Took 10 min to get a table in a completely empty location! Took an additional 10 min for a server to come to our table. When there were literally 4 other tables in the entire restaurant. Versus a restaurant 2 min away had a 50 min wait. The appetizer came 20 min after ordering. And after we asked a server to check on our food. Guac and pita. Which could easily have been served faster. They were out of the Louisiana specials! No jambalaya pasta and red beans and rice! And their usually delicious edamame dumplings were out not there. Not sure what they were serving or why they were even open. Their food is good, so no disappointment there. But the service is deplorable.

We were a larger group with a reservation but still ended up waiting over an hour for our food. About 25 minutes before it arrived, we were told it would be ready “in a few minutes,” which wasn’t true. And when dishes finally started coming out, they were staggered. The last person got their meal well after others had finished. By that point, we were ravenous. Several dishes (French fries, pizza) were served cold, and the food overall was just okay. Meanwhile, we watched other tables who arrived well after us get served first. Staff blamed the delay on a football game, but the restaurant wasn’t busy, and the explanation didn’t add up. They did give us a generous discount, which we appreciated. Still, hot food and reasonable timing are basic expectations, especially if you’re accepting reservations for large parties. Wouldn’t return, and definitely wouldn’t recommend it for group dining.

Gaspar Diaz

The food was pretty good. If I’m going to be honest, too pricy for the quality of food. There are definitely better spots to eat at. The biggest issue for me, however, was the gender-neutral bathroom setup. Men and women share the same bathroom space and wash their hands right next to each other. It was very uncomfortable to know that a woman could be using a stall while a man is using the stall right next to her. This setup personally made the experience unpleasant and is something future customers should be aware of.

What a bummer! Walking around NOLA looking for a good place to dine, and we stumbled across this place. Looked good, but the looks were deceiving. Took forever to get our drinks, a simple black tea and dragonfruit lemonade. Sat for 15 minutes waiting. Finally brought our drinks, and we ordered an appetizer with our meal. She brought the guacamole out maybe three minutes before our main dish. Our main dish was beyond underwhelming. The cheesy mash potatoes were greasy and cool. The fries were cold, the chicken tenders lacked taste and were cool to the touch. The server looked uninterested. We had been traveling all day, and would have left if not us starving. Will never go back to this place again., especially for the price.
