One of the most beautiful restaurants in nyc. And great food to match. A wonderful burger and great chicken pot pie. This place is a New York treasure and you should not miss a chance to dine here. The back room with a fireplace is especially charming and cozy in Winter.

This place simply has the most beautiful atmosphere/ food you could imagine for a New York small restaurant brunch! Everything was wonderful despite the rule of no pictures and watching you eat if you do take a picture but everything else was wonderful!!!

It's absolutely incredible. I had dinner with my eldest child while they were visiting from out of town. It is what might be considered a little pricy for many, but definitely worth it even if only for a special occasion.

The food, atmosphere and service were all impeccable. We started with a turmeric tea and the muffin and scone basket. We split the kale salad and it was perfect. My entree was the Berkshire pork croissant. The aioli on the croissant had a nice dose of truffle and the accompanying chips were crispy and the perfect thickness. My girlfriend had the omelette and it was also quite good. 6 out of five stars

The place is really cozy and in a nice neighborhood. We got a place in the terrace which is lovely and it is quite warm despite the cold weather. The service is really good, they were fast to serve our dishes and refilling our water. The wine list has variety, the food is yummy, the menu has different dishes like chicken, fish, meat, pasta and pot pie, besides that they have some special options for the day. We really enjoyed our evening at this place and it is our second time there. It is definitely worth considering.

Our food was excellent. We had the iceberg wedge salad, crab cakes, truffle mac & cheese, and the filet mignon. Cocktails were well-made. The service is friendly, yet a little forgetful, and we had several people serving us. The one big issue we had, besides the very dense seating layout, and the bar being able to only seat maybe 6 people, was the noise level in the restaurant. We could non understand each other across our small table. Of course that also has to do with being in our 50s, but some simple sound attenuation measures in the ceiling and walls would do this space a big favor. Noise in restaurants is a positive feedback loop; people tend to talk louder when the place is loud by design, and others then need to talk even louder to understand, and after a while everybody is screaming.

Made a reservation here for a Saturday evening dinner (resy opens 2 weeks in advanced), for my partners birthday. I did note this in my booking but it was not acknowledged by staff at all. The dining room has a great, old feel to it, however tables are very close together. We were lucky to dine at 6pm, before the room was full. We had the trout salad as appetiser which was better than expected and easy to share between two. For our mains, we had the chicken pot pie (very hearty) and roast chicken. Both were cooked perfectly. For the price, I would only recommend for special occasions.

the food this time wasn’t amazing. the prime rib was super raw even though we asked for medium rare and the other food all wasn’t incredible. enjoyed the truffle mac and the onion rings.

My family of three had dinner here last night. We were very happy with our food and we tried a lot. Dining room has a nice feel. Service was incredible! James was our waiter and I think we’d all agree we’d go back just to have him again. You know when a waiter or waitress just makes the whole experience so nice you almost could care less about the food? This was our experience with James. We will definitely dine here again.

Food gets five stars. Drinks look amazing but have zero taste. I was very disappointed with the Paloma and ended up just ordering a shot of tequila to add to it.

I like the banana desert. The summer truffle does not have much taste. I love the beet salad. Apple crumble desert is unacceptable: not fresh and tasteless. Garden smells very pleasant. I enjoy dining in the garden. Service does not feel quite attentive and warm

Celebrities may dine here and it may be on an abundance of NY must eat lists but if you are into food and know good restaurants then don’t bother. Sadly this was the most disappointing meal I’ve ever had in NYC. The pasta was below average and lacked creativity and flavour. The steak was small and under seasoned, the pot pie was dry and sloppy. The highlights were small but the vibe inside is high. A beautiful building that has been well maintained. The completely biscuits were very tasty as was the wedge salad (but light on blue cheese and dressing). The dirty martini’s on the other hand were amazing. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Also our waiter was perfect. Genuine and smiling with great chat. All in all. Go for a drink and a snack during the day maybe. Don’t expect a memorable meal in terms of food more a fun vibe.

The Waverly Inn is one of our favorite haunts. Tonight will change that. We sat in the main room, which was packed, and the noise level was intense. Drinks were good, but the wedge salad was immense, good, and too big. The steak tartare was almost inedible Not good by any standards. Truffle fries were the exception, and they were delicious. Service was OK, but not exceptional. High prices are not what one should pay for this dinner in a crowded and loud room.

We turned up for a reservation at 5pm, party of 3. For some reason they decided to sit us at the very back of the restaurant in the cold greenhouse area even though the restaurant was completely empty. There was a wedding party sat near our area 20 mins later so for the entirety of our meal we had to be silent out of respect for the wedding speeches happening. No one else was around us?? If they just sat us in the empty main indoor area this wouldn’t haven’t been such a ridiculous experience. We ordered some fries and left because we felt so awkward, restaurant only had a couple of tables filled as we left so have no idea why we were shoved in the back 😂. Also when we got there I asked the bartender ‘hi there just a quick question do you do xyz cocktail?’ He replied ‘hi yeah I’m fine thanks how are you?’ As if the question I asked was rude. It wasnt, I was enquiring and hadn’t ordered yet. Made us all feel weird. I should have read the reviews beforehand but absolutely not worth the price tag, what a strange 45 min and a waste of money. Go to the pizza place next door.
