Opinions de Agave New York
We decided to come there for our last evening spent in NYC. Surprisingly, there was a live music concert which brightened our stay. Additionally, we came during the margarita happy hour time, so we got 2 instead of 1 in the same price. I have tried frozen margaritas for the first, moreover I had a chance to try more than one flavour - but strawberrry was my favourite one. To eat we took 2 different taco sets, nachos with guamacole and quesadilla, everything was perfectly seasoned. I am shocked that this place has lower than 4 stars because the cuisine, atmosphere and service didn’t consist something to complain about.
Beautiful spot with lovely outdoor seating and a bar. The decor is orange. Drinks are reasonably priced. I had the truffle mushroom quesadilla. It was yummy and filling. The staff is friendly and attentive. There was live music, and if you like mirror pics, the hallway to the restrooms is for you!
Visiting New York from Charlotte and goodness it’s a price difference. It’s been very hard to find a good affordable spot here in New York. This place has great prices and great quality food. 10/10 recommend. Also recommend to do their bottomless mimosas . I haven’t found a drink cheaper than $15 in New York, and here I drank my little life away for $30 . Great drinks , great quality food and our server Steph made us laugh and took awesome care of our indecisive and complicated 10+ person group! I will be coming back for sure in the future and bringing my friends and family.
Went here for my birthday brunch and had a great experience. Our server Steph was outstanding. She was on top of our large table and was very attentive. The manager Paulina was accommodating to our party size. This will definitely be a stable brunch spot in the future.
Stopped by yesterday and the food was amazing and our drinks came out perfect 👍. We had the pleasure of meeting the General manager Edgar and he gave us exceptional service. Would highly recommended!
Delicious Food and drinks.. and Great customer service 👍🏻 We'll be returning soon.

My twin brother and I recently celebrated a major birthday at AGAVE UWS. It was a terrific evening! The food was delicious and plentiful. Our 24 guests all expressed how much they enjoyed the night. Kudos to the chef and many thanks to the Frans, the manger, for all his help. Very happy with the entire staff especially our server, Elizabeth! She was amazing!
They have really improved! Food was excellent and the service was great! Our waiter was very attentive. Music is a bit loud but overall we had a great experience. Would go back! Very kid friendly which can be rough for other customers but great for parents. We didn't mind tho.
Really nice addition to the neighborhood. It was easy to find gluten free brunch options (usually only one or two on the menu and I have to settle). I came back a second time for just a drink and sat at the bar - TVs were a great subtle addition if you’re looking for a nice bar that still has sports when a game is on.

-Santa fe cesaer salad with shrimp - gauc appetizer Food was good. But they are still trying to figure out things , like I asked for no cheese in my salad but came with cheese. Good spacious place

Agave, located off of Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side, is a nice little Mexican food spot in the neighborhood. They have a lovely outdoor patio, which is honestly my favorite part of this place. The food is pretty good - it might not be the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it hits the spot. Definitely try the starter of guacamole, the veggie fajitas, and side of rice & beans. The margaritas are great, the frozen with strawberry is my favorite! I'm dropping my rating to 4-stars because the service can be a bit slow here. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue, or otherwise, but we've had a couple of incidents recently where we visited and we were hitting weird pockets of really delayed service (e.g. drinks sitting empty + food orders not being taken). This happened to the point where it caused us a little contemplation about just getting the check and heading elsewhere. However, overall, when things are being taken care of in a timely manner, this place is really nice!!
I went after work with my coworkers and drinks, and food was great. But... the waiter was not so great. Andrew kept coming by too much which made us feel uncomfortable. He brought the bill on the the table when we didn't even ask him for it. We felt very rushed which is not a good thing at all. Wish he was not like that. But overall everything was great so will go back. So i just hope for the bext time we can have a more relax vibe.
We arrived for our reservation of 12 and they accommodated us quickly. The table wasn't ready but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The staff was nice and our food and drinks arrived quickly. The food was good but the drinks were okay. We had pitchers of margaritas and mimosas but they had a ton of ice in them which watered down our drinks. Other than that we had a great time. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Two star dinner. Added an extra star since restaurant is new and presumably still figuring thing out. Based on the restaurant name, you would expect wonderful drinks. But, we found the drinks well below average. The classic margarita was the biggest disappointment. It was fully unpleasant to drink. The frozen margarita we called “okay”. The food was hit or miss. The nachos seem to have been made with some petroleum-based cheese-like substance that came in a bottle. To offset the cheese, the chef seems to have used about half a bottle of salt. Avoid the nachos. The chicken burrito needed some flavor. It was bland. The steak fajitas were pretty good. The servers were friendly but slow.

I have dined at this restaurant several times, trying to give this establishment a chance. I must say the staff (servers) are just wonderful (although sometimes slow) and the reason for the 3 stars. The Margaritas are lousy and are served in an inappropriate glass. The fish Tacos, sometimes more crust than fish the (2X) that we ordered them. The chicken wings, no taste, we ordered with BBQ Sauce on the side. Watch for receiving more flats parts than the drum part. If Agave do not upgrade their drinks, especially the Margaritas, and be mindful of the "taste" and presentation of their dishes, this restaurant will soon be closing too. I would love to continue to patronize this establishment, but, owners, partners, please listen to the real reviews and make changes where necessary. Thank you.
Went last Friday and was told they were out of guacamole and French fries. The steak that came with my $30 nachos was fatty and not great quality. Same for my wife’s tacos. We’ve eaten here many times over the past year or so. It’s been much better in the past. We walked by today, and the furniture was gone and they were closed up in the middle of the day. Looks like they went out of business.
Large restaurant with very few people inside. I have been for dinner, which was good, but my Dad got gazpacho that made his stomach upset. I have also tried to go for happy hour - but the selection is tiny, with very overpriced options. There are better places in the city for Mexican
NOTHING will top Gabriela's but its nice to have another Mexican restaurant it its place. My frozen blood orange marg was very good. Was underwhelmed by the guac and my steak quesadilla was very bland. There were more menu items I'd like to try though and our waiter was very nice. Definitely will check it out again.

I was very disappointed in the flavor and quality of the food especially for the price. My waiter was nice but we had to ask for utensils and waited for a while although not busy. I paid over a hundred dollars for a cheese quesadilla and a steak one with on marg. Which was mid. But the atmosphere and the musics was nice just not worth the price.

This place is awful! I ordered a chicken fajita for take out. After I ask it if comes with refried beans or black beans, she assures me it is black beans. Ok, go home and there are no beans. I call and she says, that is a side order if you want it. I said, no. I asked and you said it came with the fajita and I am home already. What fajita brings no beans? She had no customer skills but their food is just as bad as their service I came to find out. It was a BLAND rice and BLAND chicken with soft tortillas and onions and peppers. It was tasteless that I had to add hot sauce. I would not order from this place ever again. On top of it, they rip you off ! $30 for the worst fajita in the world.
