Opinions de Talia's Steakhouse New York
The food was really good, a bit pricey but it’s Glatt kosher so it’s expected. The wait staff was attentive and kind and there was live music which just made the entire experience even better. My husband and I had a great date night!
Last-minute early New Year's Eve dinner. Staff was great. Food was amazing. Israeli wine was superb. Live music in the house; we felt like we were being serenaded all evening long and had a wonderful time. We'll be back!!!
I had one of the best customer service experiences at Talia's. I ordered a Thanksgiving meal for the office I work at, and not only was the service exceptional, but the food was honestly one of the best kosher Thanksgiving meals we’ve ever had. I’ve never felt so genuinely taken care of when ordering — every interaction with the team was warm, helpful, and attentive. Our whole staff was raving about how delicious everything was. I only wish I had taken photos because it was that good! We’ll definitely be ordering again for our next office event.
We stumbled by this restaurant and ordered a meal the stuff was very friendly and helped us with the order , the food was fresh + delicious and it felt like home just away from home !!
We stumble into this restaurant and we decided to try it. Service was professional and the server was polite and knowledgeable. We tried the mixed grill for 2 - it was amazing. Cooked to perfection. The prices are reasonable. We definitely will go back and highly recommend to my friends.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Fantastic Experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuine. The staff made us feel welcome without being overbearing — a perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and clearly made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. You can taste the care and attention in every bite. Whether you’re here for a casual lunch or a special dinner, this place delivers. Highly recommend to anyone who values great food and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Went with family to eat shawarma, it was fresh and full of flavor. The meat was juicy, the pita was soft . Great service too—friendly and fast. Highly recommend!
Comfortably served our party of 8 for dinner celebrating a graduation ceremony and birthday. Friendly service went above and beyond to make the evening special! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great - low, warm lighting and cute table lamps. Would definitely recommend!
We were a group of five and all of us had a great dinning experience. I had the branzino which was fresh and cooked to perfection. My friends had lamb shank, prime ribs and chicken Marsala. Everyone enjoyed his main dish. Our server was friendly and polite. The ambiance is cozy with a candle and fresh rose on each table. Do no missed the fantastic, parve chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream. We will be back!
Amazing food. Each plate was like ART both for the visual and for the palate. The atmosphere was authenticly New York with a touch of home crossed with the feel of the classic Casablanca movie. Romantic, nostalgic, a classic to be experinced by those who appreciate quality and good company.
My friend and I went to Talia’s for the kosher Haitian popup back in July. My friend keeps kosher but was also vegan, so we were looking for things to order that we would both want. We ended up with the classic stew, I got the meat version and she got the vegan. I tried hers and it tasted EXACTLY the same. You’d think that means they did such an excellent job replicating the meat flavors, but to us it felt more like the meat was an afterthought in the stew. They say they bring in chefs from these cultural backgrounds (Haitian chef was Haitian, their Indian popups have been Indian chefs) but to me it felt like they must’ve told her the audience can’t handle the full flavor of her food 🫣 I felt bad, as I’m sure she’s a great chef, but the food we tried didn’t have any strong flavors, and certainly none that stood out as unique to us. Our expectations were sky high as we both travel a lot and I eat dairy out, so we weren’t sure what we were expecting… I just think we were hoping for more brightness and shock value than this. In NYC, you can try an authentic dish on almost every street corner from a part of the globe you may have never heard of, but it’s the best thing you’ve ever had. Here, the food was fine and unassuming, but did not blow us away with any incredible flavors. I want to keep coming back to popups but please allow the chefs full creative control of their meals! We like Talia’s and I do not want this fi be seen as a negative review, but I would love for them to prove to us that their popups can be truly authentic. :) (This same friend stopped being vegan and went to the Indian popup more recently and reported a similar experience).
I've been to Talia's a few times. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We ordered from the daily specials were amazed by the platters. The BBQ short ribs was a huge plate of tender and delicious meat. We couldn't even touch the mashed potatoes that came with it. We also ordered roast lamb and pasta with a mushroom sauce that was again all meat with a little pasta. We left stuffed and happy.
I was expecting a little higher end atmosphere. The place looks like a bar from the wild west. After several attempts at asking to turn up the heat we ate most of the meal wearing our winter jackets. The entree, salmon was prepared fine but nothing special. I don't think I would ever go back.
What is this place, honestly? Because it seems like a front for sketchy business masquerading as a „restaurant”. In fact I’m 99% sure that’s what it is. Went in to order dessert to go. Was stared down by a Rabbi looking gentleman, as if I’d waltzed in unclothed (this is obviously not the restaurant’s fault but didn’t help the experience). The „baklava” is unfortunately pretty terrible. Also technically not a real baklava. For the price, it’s pretty ridiculous. Again, staff and especially the guy ringing me up was very kind. But I’ll definitely never set foot in this place again.
So I went here with my sister last night for dinner. I live in Brooklyn, and I despise the city, but i had amazing company so I went. I always wanted to try Talia's so I had high hopes. I found parking across the street and we walked in. There were 3 other tables woth people but not a waiter to be seen. We spent maybe 3 or 4 awkward minutes standing there. Then someone came and gave us a table. The table rocked back and forth so we moved. Then we got the menu and some water. We ordered the sampler. The knish was literally raw on the inside, the chicken was bland, the kibbeh was ok, the falafel was ok, but the cigars were AMAZING. I asked the waiter if they make it in house he said no. They get it from BROOKLYN. My sister asked for ketchup, ugh, it Never came. I went to the kitchen and asked the chef who was the only one there, and he gave it to me. I got the prime rib, my sister got the cauliflower steak. What the heck is a cauliflower steak?? Anyway she said it was good. I don't see how one can mess up a slice of cauliflower. My prime rib came out on a sizzling plate. It was ok. Nothing special, nothing to justify 80 dollars. I got spinach with it, I wish they had Mrs dash so I could put some flavor in it. Anyway while it was nice to see my sister and hang out, I was disappointed with our food experience. Btw I realized at the end where all the waiters went. Turns out there is a shawarma place next door that the waiters in talias work. They were very busy, made me jealous that I didn't go there.
I really wish I could love this place. And I want to support kosher restaurants. But Talia's is just lacking the attention to detail that is necessary for a great dining experience. There were just two, overworked waiters. We always had to flag them down. Brisket is supposed to be soft and tender -- we had to send ours back because it was hard and tough. We ordered a steak instead but both appeared on the bill. We should not have to worry about checking things like that. We had a large party and several appetizers and side dishes never appeared. We had to flag the waiters down for them too. Even getting our water filled was a chore. Wires were hanging out all over in the corner, it did not look nice. At the end the waiter handed me my credit card back. I asked for the receipt and he said there is no paper receipt but announced to the table how much the total charge was. Not cool. Maybe I could overlook one of these things, but put together it made it not feel like a special dinner out for the hundreds of dollars we spent. Next time my wife and I are making plans to go out we'll go someplace else.
This restaurant is awash with cockroaches on the walls, and they were even walking across our table. We made the owner aware of the problem and he was pretty much making light of it and amused by it. All he offered was excuses…how do you get an ‘A’ rating from the city with disgusting critters crawling all around your patron’s head and food? We were so nauseated, we couldn’t even finish our meal. Unfortunately, they made us pay in advance so there was no recourse. I am a senior citizen and can say this is just about the most unpleasant dining experience I have ever had, and I have eaten out A LOT!! In addition, we had to ask for things ie lemon and silverware multiple times. Quite shabby service for a $150 pre-fixe meal. After reporting them to the Board of Health, we were informed that this was FAR from the first complaint about them. If there were negative stars, I would rate this dirty place accordingly
