No notes, one of the MOST delicious meal I've had in NYC yet + for two with appetizer, meal, and dessert less than $100. Definitely more Turkish leaning dishes but so delicious. Recommend the rice pudding dessert as well. Perfect for a date night or group dinner
Yummy with a capital Y. If I lived in NY this would be my go-to restaurant. We started out with the Mediterranean Tasting Plate which features a little bit of many things, hummus, lebneh, babaganoush, Turkish eggplant with tomatoes and sigara börek which is phyllo filled with cheese and dill. Each bite was better than the last. The blend of the ingredients were spectacular and scrumptious. The Yesil salad was delicious and the Adana kebab, manti (meat filled dumplings) and red lentil soup were equally good. I think my favorite was the eggplant appetizer, Imam Bayildi. Could have eaten another serving. Outstanding. The owner was at the restaurant and stopped by our table to say hello and it was obvious to me by our conversation that he is so passionate about the food that Bodrum serves. If you have been to Bodrum then you know how good the food is. If you haven't been yet, please add to your list of restaurants to visit. Whether an afternoon lunch, romantic dinner or family gathering, you will be sure to enjoy the food and ambience. Looking forward to going back.
I went here for a lunch with coworkers and it was absolutely delicious. The service was cordial, and attentive. I drink a lot of water and they noticed and filled me up twice, bless them. The atmosphere was casual but not too casual. Two of us were vegetarian and we managed to find good options on the menu easily. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but because of the cold weather we chose to sit indoors. The brick oven is phenomenal. Everything tasted amazing and was served in perfect proportions, perfectly seasoned, at the perfect temperature. I felt like the prices were reasonable. I would wholeheartedly recommend for a casual date night or a work lunch, or for a lunch with friends.
Had some great Mediterranean food after long time!! Their mezze platter is amazing and love the fresh warm bread that they give you out whenever you ask for it. Their Adana Kebabs are really delicious and their Lamb Tagine is to die for!! The meat was so juicy and tender that you prick it with fork and it instantly breaks into small pieces. I also liked their zucchini fritter type appetizer, don't remember the actual name of it but its easily visible on the menu. Our server was also nice and friendly and he made sure we had everything that we needed. He was a great young guy and always had a smile on his face everytime . Overall great place and I highly recommend checking it out!!!
The food is delicious, the service is very good, but the Albanian liver could be a hot starter, I really liked the desserts.
We were group of 4. Had amazing food. FISH TAGINE AND LAMB TAGINE WAS DELICIOUS 🤤. Appetizer was great as well. Branzino tastes goood. Of course rice pudding with ice cream for the dessert 🍨 second time didn’t get disappointed. Definitely will be back. Thank you 🙏
Came here for dinner last night on New Year’s Eve. Very cozy and intimate restaurant. Delicious pizza and salad
Very tasty food and unique. Every plate we got was delicious and we will definitely return.
Good food! Margarita pizza is very delicious! Eggplant is amazing! Definitely will come back next time. It could be great if the dish size can be larger. 3 people needs to order 4 dishes to get enough.
From the start to the end, everything was 10/10. Delicious food, amazing cocktails and good service. Will come here more often. I am Turkish and when I was eating the fresh warm bread I said I’m home…Keep up the good work guys, thank you.
Loved it. Sat outside and enjoyed the rain. The chicken shish kebab was killer. Puffed pastry was the best. Called and let the manager know, I was going to be 45 minutes late, and she was very accommodating. 👨🍳 💋 Instagram: @holycityhost
The food is absolutely amazing - you really can’t go wrong with any dish. The special highlights were the Merguez sausage pizza, the Chocolate pudding and the Turkish coffee. The service was also extremely kind and friendly. Bodrum is a place I’d come to again and again.
The margarita pizza is so fluffy and mouth watering, I highly recommend you give it a try! The service was good and very nice atmosphere inside - good interior design. Plus the humus abs eggplant appetizers were a great addition. A great spot to come if your in the area and the prices are reasonable.
Nicely decorated and spacious restaurant serving fresh and flavorful turkish dishes (and pizza). The lamb chops are juicy, tender and flavorful. The mango margarita is sinfully delicious. Service is good.
Bodrum is a place that I’d come back to for extremely perfect Turkish food. The restaurant owner is so kind and all the staff are lovely too. The menu has a large selection of traditional Turkish cuisines along with pizza options from the brick oven. Overall would highly recommend every item on the menu. Can’t wait to go back!
we were in the zone for pizza though preferred to stay close to home as the weather forecast was not too good..gale like winds and very wet weather. Bodrum was nearby and it was definitely a plus. We have actually only dined here once when a friend was visiting. We tried initially to go to another restaurant but as we didn't make a reservation, just couldn't get a table. We walked around the block and discovered Bodrum. Food, as we remember, was good then. Bodrum is a Mediterranean restaurant that also serves wood fired pizzas. Ordered 3 pizzas to go from their menu. Was a bit difficult to choose as ever selection described was mouth watering. Ordered the Margherita ( with tomato sauce, mozzarella, for di latte and basil), the Mediterranean (with tomato sauce, roasted red peppers, feta, red onions and arugula..aptly named as a tribute to the restaurant) and the Pear and Walnut ( bosc pear, caramelized walnuts, mozzarella for di latte, gorgonzola cheese with fresh arugula and aged balsamic) So, how were the pizzas? Amazing! My wife especially liked the Pear and Walnut. As for me, the Mediterranean was my choice though all of them were just as good. Pizzas were perfect for a Saturday afternoon lunch at home. Highly recommend Bodrum if your journey takes you to the Upper West Side. Outdoor seating is available as well as indoor and food will definitely exceed your expectations.
My girlfriend and I celebrate holiday dinner here and truly it was such a nice vibe, the service was incredible, as well as food. I definitely would come back! The margarita was delicious and strong ☺️
Delicious! From the breads, the brick oven pizza, to the salmon! My favorite was the red lentil soup! Amazing! Cozy inside too. Definitely coming back! Ericka waited on us and was great! Thank you!
My personal favourite NYC restaurant. I’ve been eating in and ordering from here for over a decade. After a trip to Turkey I decided to try out this local place and the dishes fast won my heart and belly over! The hummus is addictive, manti is amazing and the only problem I have with Bodrum is narrowing down my choices so as not to leave feeling ridiculously full... Try a brick oven pizza, the salads and the lamb shank with delicious couscous! Pictured are Moussaka and a Spinach Pizza.
Fantastic food and service. The mezze dishes were excellent and both the roast chicken and lamb tagine were outstanding.
Great Mediterranean food. Warm brick oven breads, delicious pizza. Excellent spot for Brunch
No doubt one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in New York. We ate outdoors; the table's and area beautifully appointed, wait service though busy, we were given a table right away and brought chilled glasses of water. Our wait people were attentive and made doubly sure, asking twice if what we ordered was what we wanted. The food was well prepared and delicious. The wine list was adequate and we were even given a taste before deciding. The fact that it was able to remain viable during and after the Pandemic lock down speaks volumes about the quality of the cuisine.
A neighborhood favorite that is our go-to for llighter fare, Mediterranean place. Nice house made pizzas, good dips and fresh pita, Very good grilled fish, lamb shish kebabs, and yoghurt zucchini patties Comfortable, heated sidewalk tables and nice shed for warmer weather.
This is a place that treats you like family. The food is out of this world (my favorite is the spicy meatball pizza on a whole wheat crust). We’ve been over ten times and will not stop going back. Excellent happy hour too!
What an amazing neighborhood gem! This is one of the best restaurants in New York with the most wonderful staff! Erica and Jamie are wonderful and extremely accommodating to any dietary requests. The staff is also phenomenal with our children. We love Bodrum and recommend it to all our friends looking for a wonderful New York experience!
This place deserved multiple chances before I formed my final thoughts. Didn't think I'd find this gem here. The employees showed real warmth. All food items were sensory pleasures. I'm sure to return to this place.
SO GOOD! Pizza was Yummy! Chicken was amazing! The French fries were GREAT! Definitely coming back!
Amazing food. I highly recommend the pizza. The service was average, nothing incredibly special, but nothing bad either. The atmosphere was amazing. NO TV's, so perfect for a family dinner. There is lots of seating, but the tables are not to close together.
Everything, including the drinks, was delicious! I had the lamb stuffed cabbage which was well seasoned and satisfying. The cinnamon old fashioned was perfectly balanced! They had paper heart decorations on the ceiling for Valentine's day which was very cute.
Excellent Turkish food. Been there a couple of times and had good food every time. Moussaka was less traditionally presented but very tasty. Stuffed cabbage had a nice twist in flavor with a slight hint of preserved lemon. Fish tagine was delicious and the sauce worth asking for a spoon to finish. The bread is excellent.
Bodrum in 2026 is still love at first sight! Snow-white houses with blue shutters and an abundance of flowers create the feeling that you are on a Greek island, but with Turkish hospitality. Strolls along the marina among luxury yachts and dinners in the old town are something special. I highly recommend visiting St. Peter's Castle: the views of the bay from there are simply incredible. Real aesthetics in every corner!
Bodrum is one of our favorite place for take out and dine in. The service is great, food always tastes good, and great atmosphere. They are very kid friendly which makes it also very appealing for us. Hands down, it is one of the best in the neighborhood.
I thought the food was good. The crispy calamari and labne starters were both delicious and generously portioned. My Moroccan fish tagine main course was also delicious, including the Turkish rice that accompanied it. Service overall was great (5 ⭐️). Overall a 4 ⭐️ seems most appropriate.
Sunday lunch walk-in and we were seated right away. Place wasn't busy at 1 pm and plenty of tables were open. We got a perfect outdoor seat and placed our order for some delicious salads. They had a brunch menu and the regular menu, which is where we ordered from. Order included Meddo Salad ($13.75), Yesil Salad ($13.75) with Salmon ($10), and Shepherd Salad ($14.75) - which was absolutely delicious. Food took a while to arrive - over 25 mins, but the outdoor seating a nice breeze going on! Service can be a little quicker, but food was fantastic. Will visit again!
I had Turkish sis kebob and the lamb dumplings. I really liked the dumplings. It was refreshing and tasty. Turkish sis kebob was lamb and it was pretty good but maybe slightly over cooked. The servers and host were really friendly and nice and the atmosphere was comfortable and nice as well. I would come back to try the lamb chop.
Hummus was delicious, but menu overall lacked vegetarian main courses. I got the zucchini fritter app and it lacked flavor. Partner loved the chicken kebab, would recommend this place if you eat meat!
For delicious Mediterranean Pizza and Zucchini Cutlets. Outdoor sitting is excellent especially in the evenings with wine and other specialities to enjoy.
Rose - Not to sweet. Crust on pizza is exactly what I’m looking for. The calamari was good, but I want more than just the rings. Had outside seating and good service. Want to come back and check out more of the menu
We were there for late lunch. Sat outside. The service was good, the food presentation was good. Manti and the Soup tasted stale. The Salad and zucchini pancakes were good.
Cozy little spot to sit down and have lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is good and reasonably priced. I had the lamb wrap with fries for lunch. In general the food was good but I think a little too much tzaziki made the rest of the wrap cold for some reason. Otherwise no complaints and I'd eat here again!
Had a perfectly pleasant evening the other night, just a few little details that nagged at my mind after we left: service was quick and attentive at first, but as the evening went on (and there place got busier and eventually full) it got harder to get the servers attention. Perhaps staffing was short that night, or perhaps the place wasn't in a hurry to turn over the table. Not sure.... I was there with three others, and they all seemed to enjoy their food (one of the pizzas, a chicken Kebab, and a Mediterranean salad with salmon. I, however, will never order the Lamb Tagine again. Lamb was fatty (and there were barely 6 pieces in total), far too much liquid/ juice, and the veggies were all extremely soft (I prefer veggies in nearly any kind of dish to retain some degree of "crunch"/ al dente because when then get cooked to a mush/ extreme softness they lose their flavor. And at that point, why out them in the dish at all? Bodrum is a really nice place and my other visits was better. I will just ask more questions next time about my choices for food.
The decor is Turkish and is pleasing, see my photo taken on a pleasant evening when most people were dining outside. I started off with a pleasing (thick homemade) red lentil soup ($8.50), thickened by a little butter. The lamb tagine ($26.50), gluten free, had a flavorful juice/sauce, but the lamb had lost its flavor in the cooking process, it came with rice. All the food was served at the table hot due to an efficient restaurant runner bringing the food over seemingly right after the chef had put them up for pickup by the restaurant runner.
I visited this place for the first time, and it was an overall good experience for us. Just I want to recommend them to add Turkish platters in their main course because the single serving isn’t enough for family we have to order everything separately and even they don’t have enough room on table to eat we ordered 4 courses and billed around $128. And waiters are in the end greedy for the tips they will ask you questions if you even forgot to add any tip in the bill. That was bit irritating in the end.
Food here isn’t above and beyond but isn’t bad for the price. We had a few plates for sharing including the sampler, I mostly liked their labne + cheese filled filo dough along with their fresh baked bread, the issue was that they did not bring enough for the table. Also had the eggplant baylidi which was flavorful. Their kofte wrap had no flavor what so ever it does not even taste like kofte. The fries taste like fast food restaurant fries, and the ketchup that came with the fries had way too much sugar in it. Lentil soup was decent.
January 2023. We came as a group of 2 on a Sunday at 2pm. Despite there being quite a few empty tables inside, we were turned away from indoor dining because the only empty tables were 4-seaters. Apparently they don't sit groups of 2 at 4 person tables despite it being an off-peak time. Be warned. Anyways, we sat outside which was somewhat heated. The food was great - delicious and flavorful. Our server *must* have forgotten about us, because we didn't get bread until we were practically finished with our entrees. We were contemplating getting a dessert but it took forever for our plates to be cleared and for our server to come with the bill, that we cancelled the dessert idea. We were the only table outside, so I could see how it would be easy to forget about us. Overall- great food but mediocre service/hospitality experience
This is a cozy restaurant on the upper west side. The decor inside is lovely. We ordered hummus, adana kebab, and chicken sis kebab. My friend really enjoyed her chicken sis kebab! The bread they serve is so warm and delicious!
The food here was ok, I was a bit underwhelmed with the dishes I got. The lamb tangine was ok, but was not that filling and the dumplings in our appetizer were a lot smaller than they traditionally are.
This place was decent, however it did serve the best hummus and truffle pizza we’ve had. The hummus was perfectly made with the best consistency. We ordered the lamb shank, however it didn’t have as much meat as compared to other restaurants. Good flavor but didn’t like the style of rice served with it.
If you’re looking for authentic Turkish food, this definitely isn’t the place (and I say that as a Turk). Every dish we ordered came in small portions and tasted nothing like the real thing. The Beyti kebab we ordered was just six pieces of lamb wrapped in what felt like raw dough, it was terrible. The waiter also seemed annoyed the entire time which made the experience uncomfortable. They didn’t even serve ayran which is a traditional Turkish drink. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
Just got back from dinner with my friends. At first, it seemed like an okay place - we sat outside in the patio. It became very apparent, however, that we were not welcome at this restaurant. For starters, our waiter took our order, and then proceeded to ghost our table for the next 35 minutes. I noted that there were two other tables who sat near us 10 minutes after we had arrived be served and repeatedly checked up on. Those tables in question also had bread, plates and olive oil brought, whereas we were brought only bread with no oil or plates. After 35 minutes, our appetizer (Manti) arrived. The portions were ridiculous for the price, but that wasn't my biggest gripe about this restaurant. After a full HOUR of waiting, we had to ask a different waiter (because ours avoided our table like the plague) to check on our entrees, and of course within a minute they brought them out. First off, the food was terrible. The Beyti Kebab was supposed to be lamb meat wrapped in lavash bread, but it could be best described as lamb meat shoved into copious amounts of uncooked bread dough. It was chewy, texture-less and outright disgusting. Second, our waiter was still nowhere to be found; he never checked to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything else. Even a worker who is presumably the manager made eye contact with us, but never said a word. He just avoided our table. It was only at the point when we finished our meal and a busboy took our plates away that this manager comes over to ask if we wanted dessert --- again, he never asked how the food was. We declined and asked for the check. Our waiter silently comes over, takes the card and pays and leaves. He doesn't ask us if we liked the food, he doesn't wish us a good evening --- pure silence. I can forgive the mediocre food and their ridiculous prices, but I can't forgive disgustingly rude service. I want to make it explicitly clear that we are aware that waiters work hard and things can get hectic when busy, but to us it was obvious that he avoided our table not because he was busy (because why else would you approach the tables near us multiple times, asking them how their food is, but avoid ours?) but because he clearly did not want us to eat at this establishment. Avoid this place.
