I’ve been to Alfie’s for a variety of reasons and it’s always great. Staff is attentive, food is good and well priced. Can sit outside with my dog and can usually just walk in for a table with no wait. Great neighborhood spot
Amazing Service & Great Drinks from Tommy! I had the pleasure of being served by Tommy, and I can't recommend him enough! From the moment I sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about his craft. He made excellent recommendations, mixed up some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time, and kept the energy at the bar lively and welcoming. Whether you’re looking for a classic drink or something creative, Tommy knows his stuff. His professionalism and great attitude truly made the night enjoyable. Can’t wait to come back and have him behind the bar again! Thanks again boss 💪🏽💪🏽
Haven’t been to Alfie’s since before COVID and finally went back again. Came for a late night drink and snacks. It was still alive but chill at around mid night. The waiter was so friendly. I got a Manhattan, it tasted great and incredibly strong. My friend got a tuna tartare, it was sooo good, generous portion and well made. The price was also very reasonable. Everything was great and will definitely go back again, and again.
Visited on Christmas Day, friendly staff and service. Great food and drinks. Well recommended.
Small place, but the food was delicious. I had 3 egg omelet, with spinach and Colby cheese, home potatoes, and a bit of salad on the plate. Hubby had burger, and fries, and he said it was good. I noticed a n egg dish of another table and looked good as well. My omelet was cooked perfectly.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were visiting from Houston and decided to stop by Alfie’s — and we’re so glad we did! Everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere, the drinks, the food — all spot-on. But what really made the experience special was Stephanie. She was amazing — so warm, caring, and attentive. She made us feel right at home and truly went above and beyond. If you’re in New York, don’t miss this spot.
This place is the best and everyone in the neighborhood knows it. Food is incredible (it’s not bar food, it’s extremely high quality, ingredients, presentation and flavors.) Wednesday wine happy hour is a great time. Great variety of drinks. Dinner and drink menu changes by season and is always great. Stop by for a hot toddy or apple cider in the winter. We often bring a large group and they’re always welcoming and accommodating for that. Their heated outdoor spaces are cozy and we weren’t cold. Their staff is always the nicest too. Love Alfie’s.
We had truffle fries, Cesar salad, braised short ribs buns, grilled chicken ciabatta, croque madame and new york soppressata flatbread and everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. Service was very nice and the place looked clean and inviting. Low noise so it was nice to be able to talk while eating. I absolutely recommend this place. We showed up at 3pm on a Tuesday and wasn't busy
What I love most about Alfie’s is it is a very versatile bar, so it’s always top of my list regardless of my purpose for grabbing a drink. It’s probably the only bar in the area with decent outside space which catches the sun until late, so perfect for people watching and relaxing after work. Inside has a great bar to sit with friends, and the restaurant is perfect for family meals. The food is reasonably priced and of a very high standard, open from brunch through to very late (great for after the theatre). The drinks are good, beer always fresh (not a given in NYC) and they serve a good selection of non alcoholic drinks (I have taken business meetings here for coffee in the day when the vibe is quiet and calm). Best part of it though is the very excellent and consistent service. The whole team are super friendly, attentive and helpful. I notice the staff always look familiar, which I think reflects well on the place as it shows they like working there, something that always comes through with the service you receive. They are also family friendly so a reliable place to take kids for lunch (not sure if there is a time limit to this) so it’s a great pick when you have people visiting. Ticks all the boxes for me as a really great “bar and kitchen”. Would give six stars if I could.
This place is awesome. From the food, to the service, everything was way above my expectations. I passed by this pass a couple weeks ago and just decided to make a stop in. There's outside seating, and on a cool summer day, it's heaven. You're in the center of the hustle and bustle of the city but it still feels intimate. We ordered a couple beers (turns out happy hour is until 8pm! Huge win) and the cheese dip with pretzel bites. Then we got a couple more beers and the roasted corn and crab dip. Y'all.... I can't rave on this good enough. I'm adding a pic to this review of the pretzels and cheese and all I can say is I crave it every single time I think about it. The pretzels were soft, beautifully baked, and just salty enough. The cheese was wonderful (who doesn't love cheese tho). The corn crab dip, wow. The pita bread chips that came with it, wow. They were HOT they were so fresh and they also had just enough salt that when paired with the creamy dip it was just the right addition needed. To top it off, one of the managers (possibly owner?) checked on us a couple times throughout the night and was super friendly. He talked to us about how hard it is to do marketing for a restaurant these days with so much competition, and that it's more about what foods people are feeling whenever they happen to pass by (that hit home, because that's exactly what we did). At the end of our chat he bought us shots (also found out this is definitely a whiskey bar), and he really just made our night even more memorable. I cannot wait to come back here!
Very legit friendly local bar with decent craft beer selection and good pub food. Irish transplant Rudy is the main bartender, super skilled, unbelievably friendly and knows all of his regulars' drinks before they even pull up a stool. I had mini pig in a blankets and a bulgogi cheese steak which was delicious.
I came here very late nigh almost closing time. Ryan the bartender on duty who was super knowledgeable about the tastes of ipa i mentioned recommended one i tried and loved. Ill b looking for that ipa now. It was delish. Lightly fruity and almost lightly creamy. I also tried the old fashion made with guiness syrup. Very interesting! Love old fashions. Only few years ago i had my first so im curious about the many ways they can be made. I didnt get to try the food because the kitchen was closed late night but i checked out hugo's post on google of these beautiful brunch images ill definatly going to come to brunch try it. Looks delish. Professional staff and cozy space. Ill be back. To think for years i passed by and never tried it?! 😇😄
Delicious brunch place with hearty, heavy, and scrumptious food. Their Bloody Marys are also quite tasty, but I found the Apple Cider Mimosa a little too sweet. The Croque Madame was absolutely delicious though, with a side salad and a smattering of fried cheese, it was very filling.
Great bar to go to for a drink, with a solid beer and whiskey selection. Also really good spot for brunch. Had the breakfast bowl today and it was quite delicious. Friendly staff and usually not too crowded - I really like the vibe here. I've been a few times now and will definitely come back.
I had the ($22) avocado toast for brunch, and it was excellent! There was something in the dish that made it a tiny bit sweet -- at first I had thought maybe it was the pomegranate, but after tasting the pomegranate on its own, I was fairly certain it was something else. Anyway, whatever it was, it was a surprising (to me at least 😄) nice touch to the avocado toast. The ($11) bottomless mimosa was alright (maybe a little expensive? But maybe it had to be because it was bottomless 😄), but the food was most important anyway. Atmosphere was good. This was around 11am, but it was not too crowded (maybe because it was 2 days before Christmas so many people have left town), so that was nice.
Very fun vibe, had a reservation at 9 n showed up a tad early, was told five minutes, they cleared a table n had us seated quickly. Attentive staff, I asked our server what she'd prefer out of two items I was between n she was honest, helpful, and easy going to talk with. Food came out quickly. By far, THE BEST spin dip I've ever had. William, who I'm not sure if he was Foh manager, supervisor, host or owner, was so nice, checked on us multiple times, and even brought us a round of tequila shots after we finished our food n had paid. There was even a Bernese mountain dog outside with his owner (we were at a window seat, n william took a second to go outside n say hi to the gentleman n pet his dog.) The bartender was attentive as well, just a very well, fun, easy going time!
Highlights: Sports bar, high end bar food, drinks, sports viewing, casual I come from time to time. Brunch, lunch, and dinner are all solid. A great place to watch sports or catch up with friends. All the food is very well done. The cauliflower is my favorite appetizer. The burger is generously portioned and completed the assignment. The spinach dip is served piping hot and is very fresh, with perfectly crispy chips. The staff here are all wonderful. A great business!!
Went there last night for drinks with friends and had such a great time! The star of the night was the Frozen Watermelon cocktail🍉 soooo good, super refreshing and perfectly balanced for summer. We sat outside which made the vibe even better. I also tried the affogato, and it was a nice little sweet treat to end the night. Will definitely go back!
Decided to take my boyfriend here for a birthday brunch and it was fantastic! We sat at the bar because all of the tables were booked (I recommend making a reservation because it fills up fast!) and both ordered the bottomless boozy brunch drinks for $25 and some food. He ordered the Alfies steak and eggs and I ordered the short rib hash. Both were soooo DELICIOUS. I loved the vibe of the bar and the staff were incredibly friendly and quick to serve. We had a great time and can't wait to come back!
Alfies was so good I went back twice. I was visiting the city and was on the hunt for Sat. Happy hour that wouldn't break the bank. Enter Alfies! Great little location, attentive and reasonable service and a lovely Manager! 👏🏽 I had, what I can only describe, as a goblet of gin and tonic for $10! It was citrus. It was smooth. It was BIG and it was worth every penny. My friend got the margarita. Delicious all around. Did I say, $10?? Handcut fries and Soppressata Flatbread rounded our Sat. Late lunch and it was awesome! Sunday afternoon brunch was no slouch either. Delicious pancakes, solid eggs, bacon. The yogurt bowl had good fruit and and granola. Cappuccino to top off!! Go to Alfies! You will not regret it!
I came here for a quick lunch with no expectations and I was pretty happy with the overall experience. The burger was much better than I was hoping for; it was much better than a burger you typically get a bar, and the service was fantastic. My only nit pick: I wish they had more lunch menu options outside of burgers
Ohmygeez a diamond I found on my NYC trip. Alfie's is a must for brunch. The food and drinks are amazing but service is the best we’ve had in all of NYC! We even made new friends with locals. Love love love
If you’re looking for the best-poured Guinness this side of the Atlantic, look no further than Tommy behind the bar. This man isn’t just a bartender—he’s a Guinness artist. Every pint he pulls is textbook perfection: the perfect cascade, the signature creamy head, and that smooth, velvety taste that only comes from someone who truly respects the craft. Tommy doesn’t just serve drinks; he delivers an experience. Whether you’re a Guinness connoisseur or a first-timer, he makes sure every pour is up to the highest standards—no rushed jobs, no shortcuts, just pure liquid gold. And if you’re lucky, he might even share a story or two while you enjoy the best pint in town. If Guinness had a hall of fame for bartenders, Tommy would be front and center. Cheers to the man who makes every pint a masterpiece!
Alfies is one of those rare spots in New York that just feels like home. Wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food (shoutout to the new chef and the lovely staff especially Al). Would recommend to visitors and locals alike.
I was at Alfie’s the other day and my server Allie was amazing. She knew the menu very well and was very attentive checking in with my table. Amazing and hopefully get to see her soon and go back. Food and drinks were great
Went here on Thanksgiving for brunch. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. We had the America breakfast which everything tasted really good. I had the chicken sandwich which was delicious and some sweat potato fries but the show stopper was the treat leches pancakes which was the perfect sweetness and it was big. We also had some delicious apple cider mimosas
This is a delicious menu with the BEST service and a great atmosphere!!! A terrific local find!!! My highest recommendation. We split a wonderful breakfast platter - eggs, French toast, fruit, bananas, bacon, sausage - fresh and very tasty…not just breakfast thrown on a plate! Talked with friendly locals. The host sang to us as we entered - it is a friendly place with excellent food!
We went to Alfie’s for their bottomless brunch ($28 per person with purchase of an entrée) and it was a good deal. We got the Croffle sandwich and burger, which were both delicious, and everyone else’s food was good too. They offer mimosas in different flavors, plus Bloody Marys and beers for variety. Definitely a fun, easygoing spot for weekend brunch. Our server (Lucy) was awesome.
Alfies is our Hells Kitchen home away from home. We have been coming here for years and the excellent service and consistently delicious food and drinks keep us coming back. We love the late night happy hours and that the kitchen stays open late so we can get dinner after a show. The servers are always very attentive about food allergies and dietary restrictions. The entire team is warm, kind, and welcoming and we love to bring our family and friends here for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks. It’s our go-to recommendation in the neighborhood so we thought we should share here.
I was drawn in during my lunch break, by the welcoming bar. Bartender was very friendly and attentive, a sports channel was playing and the ambiance was definitely nice, would bring my family/ friends to a place like this. I got the kale salad, and I have to say this was best kale salad I’ve had all summer on NYC. Really good kale base enhanced with a vibrant and refreshing dressing. Loved the hard boiled eggs, pickled onion, hearts of palm, grilled sweet potatoes, toasted pepitas, and goat cheese. So good, I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more food on their menu! Thanks!
The BEST service and food ever!! Al was my server and he was excellent - super quick and attentive, had us laughing all meal long!! Highly recommend!! I had the croffle sandwich and it was DELICIOUSSS 10 out of 10. The atmosphere from the second you walk in the door is so welcoming and fun, I’ll definitely be back :)
Great vibes and comfy atmosphere. My friend and I sat at the bar and the sweet lady whipping up our drinks made some excellent margaritas. We ordered fries too which were really good, nice and crispy and good amount of it too. Def coming back for the drinks, maybe for brunch as well 🤤
Alfie's Kitchen and Craft Beer Bar is a brunch place located in Hell's Kitchen, with a nice atmosphere and wide range of bar seating. We came in a little before noon, but the place was still decently packed, and began filling up as time went on. The staff were very friendly, checking in on our water, allowing us to move seats if the temperature in the place was uncomfortable (since it was a cold day and they had the heaters on), as well as bringing the food out in a reasonable time. We got the American Breakfast, Alfie's Brunch Burger, and the Hazelnut Nutella Pancakes. The Brunch Burger was juicy and tasted great, the fries were a bit too salty for our liking but the ketchup helped neutralize it. The Hazelnut Nutella pancakes were a highlight, it came with multiple different toppings like hazelnut, banana, blueberries, & more. The pancake was a decent size for the price, and was light and fluffy, going well with said toppings. Overall, a great experience for a casual brunch.
It was the avocado toast and craft beer options that drew me in, away from the plan I had. And I'm so glad! Everything was so delicious! Staff was super nice. Highly recommend. My only criticism is ... why do the bathrooms need a gender assignment when they are one-person rooms? Come on y'all, it's 2024 yo!
The fries are out of this world! With that said, I will say that we came here on a Tuesday night to enjoy some drinks and food and we’re completely overjoyed. The drinks are incredibly reasonable and I received the old-fashioned as well as the Jenn cocktail that were nine dollars apiece. Totally reasonable and absolutely delicious seats 10 or 14 tables, but there were a ton of families in large groups inside it was loud and lovely. Food was delivered very quickly and we loved everything. The only small critique would be that my wife did not enjoy the sweet flavor (jam?) added to the grilled cheese, but again, the fries made up for it. Love this place! Would definitely come back highly highly recommended! Everyone on the staff was just wonderful
Excellent place for happy hour drinks and food! Fun vibe in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen. Despite the fact that Our server had just started that day, she provided us excellent service and a great time! (Can’t remember her name but just moved from Chattanooga to the city! ) loved my turkey burger and the salad looked amazing.
Great local place for food and drinks. We come here almost every week for a laid back meal. The drinks are solid. I rotate better the burger, fried chicken sandwich, and Buffalo chicken salad depending on my mood. Someone at your table should order the fries because they are tasty. The service is hit or miss. As long as you know this, you are headed for a relaxing meal.
While walking around on our weekend trip to New York, we stumbled upon this spot. We sat outside and opted for the bottomless brunch. We ordered the beach bomb omelette which was fluffy, light and packed with sautéed veggies. It came with a side of home fries which were little different than the regular ones but in a good way. We also ended up ordering an elevated egg Sammy. Nice creamy fluffy egg. The black garlic aoli added tones of flavor. The bun was fresh and soft. And what's a burger without fries. We ordered a side or the sweet potato fries and munched on them through the brunch. The portions were perfect and would fill you up for the rest of the afternoon. Now the only downside to the brunch would be the 90 min timeline for bottomless, because the servers take a good 10-15 min to refill your glass. So it questions the entire purpose. Our glass was randomly taken away by another server aswell, for which they were sorry. But I guess they were just having a busy weekend. Overall, a good place for a date or a weekend outing with friends.
Alfie’s is in a great location near a lot of the theaters, but doesn’t have a mobbed environment feeling. There is a large beer selection on tap. We enjoyed the Brooklyn Bel Air Sour and Cigar City Brewing beer. The kale and beet salad used fresh quality ingredients. Our waitress, Ellie, was patient, thorough, and provided great suggestions.
Came here on a weekend with a friend for brunch. Ordered the steak & eggs along with mimosas. For 2 people, it came out to be almost $100 (including tax and tips). Food review: the hanger steak wasn't the best cut I've had. I asked for medium rare and received it overly well-done. I bumped up the rating to 4 stars because the waitress was nice and replaced my entire plate. Was a bit of a wait, but the steak came out exactly as I wanted the second time. The potato hash should be crispier; it tasted more like baked potatoes. Portion size was perfect. We came during the FIFA World Cup so it was crowded, busy, and loud.
Hey ya'll coming to ya with a gem here. This was a random find for us. We had been walking around NYC and wanted a spot to sit for a spell and rejuvenate. Also since we had all spilt it was a good meeting spot. Once we got there and looked at the menu we decided this is where we would eat. The ambiance was very chic. The floral touches combined with the old wood gave it a bit of a rustic feel. Being completely honest the outside chairs were not very comfortable and started hurting after a while. That being said that was the ONLY thing I didn't like about this place. We had a wonderful server Ashley. She even gave us some places we should visit while on our trip, I enjoyed meeting her. The food was really good. Actually kinda surprised me a bit. I was expecting typical bar food. Seasoned and cooked very well, that food was some of the best we had while in NY. While I was there I had a purple drink (Purple Rain) Yes, I wanted it cause it was purple. lol. It actually tasted SOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!!! The herbs they use here, not just in their food but in their drinks as well is magically paired. Hats off! I am trying to figure out how to make it at home. I almost got it =). We didn't go inside except to use the bathroom. It was very nice inside. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Everyone was cheerful and greeted us with a smile!! I LOVED this place so much. If lived there this would be my regular spot. When you find yourself in NYC you have to check this place out! It is definitely on my list of places to return to in the city!!
The place had a fun vibe, something to grab a bite or just have a few drinks. The menu wasn’t huge, but had a good mix of different dishes. I had the house-burger. The meat was excellent and the caramelized onions gave it a special kick, but I could have done without the mushrooms. Staff was also very friendly. I definitely recommend this place.
Came for brunch with friends without a reservation and was able to snag a seat at the bar. Lovely atmosphere, our bartender/waitress was very friendly. Drinks were delicious, and the food was praised amongst us. I got a classic steak and eggs breakfast and the steak was cooked perfectly. Would have gotten the french toast but sadly, they were out. Would come back!
I managed to snag some MJ the Musical tickets and Alfie’s was the stop before show time. We literally just stumbled in as we were walking towards the theatre. I scanned the menu quickly and noticed they had happy hour and a turkey burger and that worked perfectly for me. We entered and were seated right away. The place was actually quite bustling for a cold NYC Wednesday night in January. With the place full it can feel tight getting through and not very comfortable while seated. Nonetheless service was attentive, when possible. I ordered an Old Fashioned and that Turkey Burger that caught my eye accompanied by sweet potato fries. My drink was ok but my food was delish and perfectly hit the spot. Just A Note: If looking for a fairly quick bite to eat before a show, Alfie’s might be worth checking
My work colleagues reserved the front area for a work happy hour. The service was nice and came back now and then to take orders individually and did a great job remembering who ordered what. The cocktails were quite good! The Foggy Dublin Morning was really good (earl grey tea cocktail). I recommend for a good experience for a small group, probably 15 people max, for the front area standing space. They don't force a minimum spend; it was based on the # of drinks ordered by the group. We ordered some finger food to share; the food was fine (flatbreads, fries, and sliders). The highlight are the drinks here.
The atmosphere and food were great. The manager was exceptional and very accommodating. The waitress needs to improve. She didn’t check on us for refills or how was the food. The manager and the bus boy/man deserved a good tip as they were friendly and attentive. I would go back and hope that she is trained and hope she becomes successful.
We were looking for a place to stop to eat something light and stopped here. Quite a good and rich brunch served in a nice restaurant with indoor/outdoor tables. Big sizes, more than enough for a lunch, too. My yogurt with granola, fruit and honey was very good, and the eggs that my sister had were tasty, too. Service is quick.
The space is a good size and they have some outdoor seating. It's nicely decorated. We had the Shrimp Basket and Truffle Fries they were both good. They have a good happy hour. The prices on the food are reasonable. The prices on Cocktails and some spirits are good. It's a laid back atmosphere with a good playlist. Btw, Stephanie, the bartender was very helpful and patient
Ordered burger and fries with cider beer outside. The cider was excellent recommendation. Burger medium rare and it came out between medium to well done. Very dry and no pink. Almost inedible. Hard pass and didn’t finish it. The fries were a little soggy and undercooked. Opposite of reviews here which was surprising. Ate it cause, ya know, fries. Couple next to me got up to order drink then get up again to get check. There was no how is it going check-in or questions around food uneaten. For $42+ /pp is disappointing.
Good place for brunch. Classic american bar. Not so expensive for hell's kitchen area and the food is good. I had a terrific blody Mary (see pic attached...it was spicing and awesome good!). Portions are not so big and the plates are filled with a lot of salad. They have a good selection of beers and you can watch sport if you like it.
Their house beer is good, full bodied pilsner was great. Had the spinach and artichoke dip and it was about as bland as plain noodles, pretty disappointing for $17 - much better options for food in the area. Server never asked how it was and there was not enough salt and pepper on the table to save that dish. Chips were also really greasy.
Found a piece of plastic on the schnitzel. Big apologies etc…but then they offered a cheesecake (I would have offered the schnitzel). Very disappointing the fact that I had to pay $10 more because I paid with credit card, never saw that before. Overall nice place but poor service (both waiter and manager). Ah 20% gratuity already included in the check, without even asking an opinion
Nice waitress and cool outdoor sitting but the food is bland and tasteless. They don’t believe in seasoning or using salt. Places like this are abound in nyc where they hire unskilled cooks to cut costs.
I would not recommend this place. Laura our waitress was unfriendly, did not offer assistance with anything and had an attitude. She gave my daughter hot coca in a paper cup. Food is incredibly overpriced. ONE PIECE OF FRENCH TOAST WAS $18 WITH NO SIDES. IT WAS MUSHY AND TOO SWEET. a different server was also aggressive and hostile. Won't be back.
Not impressed. This place is only average for beer, and everything else falls flat. The food and cocktails are seriously lacking—well below standard. Compounding the issue, it's also a bit pricier than the average spot in this area. The biggest problem was the service. Having to hunt down the waiter after waiting 20 minutes on several occasions made the experience frustrating.
Must have been a bad night for the bartender. Wrong drink order, didn’t know how to dress a shot, and generally a “don’t bother me” demeanor. Not sure what happened.
Terrible guy wearing glasses in the front, incredibly rude and disrespectful about how little we tipped, even though it was a 20 percent tip. I’ve never had the experience of being shamed for tipping too little. Very shameful and would never come back here
