Antica is a Financial District gem praised for its authentic Italian cuisine, excellent service, and cozy atmosphere. Many reviewers highlight the octopus appetizer and cannoli. Some found dishes too heavy on garlic, and takeout experiences were occasionally disappointing.

Toro Loco – A Classic Mexican Bar Experience in Lower Manhattan Located at 15 Stone St, New York, NY 10004, Toro Loco truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best spots for Mexican food in New York City. The atmosphere feels straight out of a movie—a classic bar setting with character, warmth, and personality. One of the highlights for me was its unbeatable location, right across from our hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton, making it a perfect and convenient choice after a long day exploring the city. The fact that Spanish is spoken adds an extra layer of comfort, creating a welcoming, almost family-like environment. The Mexican food is flavorful and satisfying—exactly what you need to warm your body and spirit during New York’s cold winter days. Whether you’re stopping by to share a meal with friends or family after visiting the Statue of Liberty, or simply looking to enjoy a lively evening in a classic bar atmosphere, Toro Loco delivers. Without a doubt, this is a place I would happily return to again.
It feels like old world Manhattan in this old Stone Street building. Fun and festive with delicious food and excellent service. I like the nachos, wings, birria tacos, and sangria. They have gluten free and vegan options indicated on the menu. Big portions and decent prices with outdoor seating in the back.
So glad we stumbled onto this great little Mexican restaurant in downtown NYC! We were walking from the ferry terminal to the Brooklyn Bridge and stopped in for a quick bite. Great atmosphere and everyone was very friendly. I ordered the chimichanga and it was very flavorful. Even the presentation was excellent! Give this place a try - no disappointments.
Stopped in for a quick bite after work and sat at the bar. I was greeted immediately by the bar tender and given water. He mentioned that it was happy hour and showed the specials. I ordered a red sangria that was fabulous and tacos and empanadas. The food came out fast and the sauces served were good and paired well. Nice place for solo dining or as a group. The lighting is very dim so it's a little hard to read the menu.
Food flavor can be improved also the timing considering we received entrees and main courses at the same time. Services was good, waiter was very nice and congrats with the deco, it's really nice!
Arrived with 2 other friends on a Friday 7:30PM. Was seated right away, without wait. They also allowed us to sit while we were still waiting for a friend. Since my friends and I were indecisive, we spent some time to think and we didn't feel rushed to order. The servers were really nice despite us taking our time to order and pick out our drinks. They didn't rush us to eat and leave either which I'm grateful for. How onto the food: We ordered 2 apps, 3 tacos, 3 drinks and review of each item is below. APPS • Chicken Empanadas - 8.8/10 - absolutely love this, would reorder again and again. Most of the empanadas I have had are dry but this isn't. The filling is juicy and the sauce adds a kick of spice which is nice. This was my #1 favorite in my entire order. • Quesadilla - 7/10 - we got the plain quesadilla without any filling and unfortunately, it just didn't hit as much as we wanted it to. I think I'd get it again with additional filling next time just for the chew and kick. TACOS • Al Pastor - 8.3/10 - I loved the pineapple, it added a little kick with sweet and spicy and I adore it. The downside is the limes that were provided with the tacos weren't exactly juicy and took some squeezing to get a couple droplets. This was my #2 for our tacos • Carnitas - 8/10 - This was good but it was just missing a little something even when I added the sauce. The pork was flavorful and the sauce added a good kick but it was just missing a little something (pineapple) that al pastor. This was my #3 choice. • Birria Tacos - 8.5/10 - My favorite out of the tacos we ordered. It was eaten warm so I'm not sure if that's why it might've been my favorite, the consumé broth was really warm and yummy - I would order again and again. DRINKS • White sangria - 8.6/10 - I adore sweet drinks and this was exactly it. It was sweet and refreshing and exactly what I needed to pair with the savory meal. • Passionfruit mojito - 9/10 - knocked my friend out (figuratively) she said it was really sweet and you can taste the alcohol. She would reorder • Mango mojito (mocktail) - 8/10 - pretty good, limey, can't really taste the mango DESSERTS: • churros - 8.5/10 - crunchy, sweet, came with two dipping sauces. A nice ending to the meal • creme brulee cheesecake - 8/10 - I expected it to have the hard creme brulee shell but it didn't I think it was the flavor of the cheesecake ?? It's not bad but my friend and I were full at this point haha. Overall, I would come back and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my other friends and relatives back. Service was really attentive and nice, the food was good and the atmosphere is light and lively. It wasn't too loud for a Friday which is nice especially since I can talk to my friends and hear them across the table. P.S their white napkins are ELITE. It feels like a 5 ★ hotel type napkin.
Dani was amazing, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious, flavorful, and the drinks impeccable. Definitely recommend for happy hour or just a great dinner. ❤️
Super cool atmosphere. Great guacamole. The Carne Asada tacos were very very tasty. My favorite part was the house draft lager I had two because it was so good!! Would definitely recommend this place.!!!
Fresh and delicious food. The three of us were interested in trying a few dishes, so we ordered the beef and the chicken empanadas, the beef and the chicken tacos, and the Nachos Toro Loco to share. Everything was delicious. Only improvement would be the lighting as it was a bit dark for us being older adults, so our eyesight aren't as sharp as youngsters. I really enjoyed the chicken tacos and chicken empanada, plus the nachos which had generous toppings. Another of us enjoyed the soft beef tacos and our son's favourite was the nachos. We all loved the coriander dips and mango dips that came with the empanadas.
Excellent drinks and bottomless brunch! Jessica was amazing. So attentive and helpful 🤍 definitely recommend for a fun stop with great music!
Planned a surprise brunch for my best friend, happy I chose this spot! Good food, good mimosas and great service. Dj was also great — the music was our favorite part!
TorolocoNYC is amazing! I had such a great experience here. The food was fresh and flavorful, the drinks were on point, and the vibe was perfect for a night out. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. The atmosphere is lively without feeling overwhelming, and the décor adds to the whole experience. If you’re looking for great food, great energy, and great service, TorolocoNYC is definitely the place. Highly recommend!
Went after a well needed travel day, had the Alambres and it was amazing , it was so delicious and flavorful, also ordered the corn which comes off or on the cob. I was a fan that there was an option for that. Definitely would return , the outside view definitely does not do the sizing inside justice .
Absolutely amazing! The cheese jalapeños fries were a stand out. Good flavourful food. I loved the atmosphere- the deco was on point. This is how Mexican food is meant to be cooked! There’s one thing I’m sure about now and it’s that I’m “Loco” for more.
Arsenio and Ryan were impeccable! I came with my wife after a long day of work, tired and frustrated. All of that went away when the frozen margarita and swirl were brought to the table. Very well taken care of and as for the nachos, TO DIE FOR!!
The churros were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Bring your friends and have fun!
We tried the coco loco cocktail and it was super interesting and delicious and creamy. It had coconut flakes which was interesting and helped the flavor. Really large ice cube though that takes away from the amount of cocktail, but still decent for price.
This is maybe one of the best mexican places that I’ve tried. The food was so flavorful. The waiters were polite and responsive. The environment was fun but a bit dark. The lighting could be better. I had the nachos toro loco and Birria Torta. It was amazing. The nachos was full of toppings and very tasty. I snapped a photo after I ate everything so I’m attaching an empty plate :))
From the outside - restaurant seems small and common. But when I got inside - totally different vibe. Music was great, service was excellent and the food was impressive. Will return and bring others. Had the guacamole - nice! Street Mexican corn - favorite and the steak tacos...wish they were more then 3 but healthy serving and veery good.
We came here for dinner and the food, drinks music and service were great! The vibe was great and the prices, especially for the area for how good everything was ...chefs kiss. Highly recommend the cheese crust steak tacos! We also had the spicy guac...which was definitely spicy! 🔥 and we also ordered the chimichangas which was yummy 😋 Will definitely come back and would recommend to anyone. You wont be disappointed.
I enjoyed a delightful late supper here, and the experience could not have been better. The team were exceptionally welcoming and attentive; one truly senses the care and thought they put into every detail. The cuisine was superb, and the atmosphere calm and relaxing. I would highly recommend this establishment for a romantic evening. Particular thanks to Dennis for his outstanding hospitality and professionalism. I shall certainly be returning.
We had an amazing Christmas Eve dinner here and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Even on such a special night, the team was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, you can truly feel how much care they put into everything they do. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The grilled octopus was absolutely wonderful, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The ravioli was exceptional as well, rich and delicious. The salmon was also perfectly seasoned and cooked, very flavorful, and served with a delicious mashed potato that paired beautifully with the dish. The desserts were amazing, the perfect ending to the meal. But the highlight for me was the burrata. I truly love burrata and have had many, many versions over the years… and this was, without a doubt, the best burrata I have ever had in my life, by far. Thank you for such a memorable experience on such a special evening. We will definitely be coming back.
This is a true GEM of a restaurant in lower Manhattan. Everything was top tier for a business lunch; excellent service, amazing food, classic yet nuanced. It was so good, I am planning to return on Christmas Eve for my family’s traditional dinner.
I stayed at the Doubletree next door for a work trip and Antica was right downstairs. I hadn't eaten and was famished. I walked in and was sat down immediately. I can't remember the servers name, but I recall asking where he's from and he said Croatia. He was very hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the pasta of the day "a ravioli dish" and it was the best I'd ever had. I went back the next day and had the lobster bisque soup and a cannoli. That complimentary lemoncello shot took me out 😆 Ill definitely be back! It wasn't too busy during lunch, but was packed when I walked by during dinner, so I'd recommended a reservation after 5pm.
As always, Antica was a very enjoyable experience! The food was excellent, and service was top-notch. In addition, it was very easy to carry on a conversation, as we were given plenty of time to finish our meal and speak. I recommend Antica highly!
We had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Antica! The octopus appetizer is stunning and I can't stop thinking about the cannoli we had for dessert.
Finding Antica without prior knowledge made the experience feel special. Their food stands above competitors. Their customer service was exceptional. The spotless interior and trendy design were much better than expected. I'm already missing their food.
I had a wonderful dining experience at Antica! The steak with creamy peppercorn sauce was cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The roasted potatoes and sautéed mushrooms were excellent sides, and the Caesar salad was fresh and well-balanced with generous shavings of cheese. The service was outstanding—especially the fun touch of freshly ground pepper from an impressively large pepper mill, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Great food, great atmosphere, and attentive staff. Highly recommended!
If I could give 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat. The kindest wait staff, incredible food, and elevated yet comfortable atmosphere. Great for a date night, has a large back room for business dinners, and easy walking access. Definitely a great stop to escape the huddle of the city for a relaxed evening!
The Ravioli were nice and also the mushroom risotto Everything else quite terrible. Disproportionately abundance of garlic everywhere, condiments and dishes in quantity that is not conceiveable. The veal was barely edible I understand this is Italian-American and not Italian but definitely not my taste. I am giving 5 stars to the service though because they are fast and super kind
Located on Stone St. near Broad St. in the Financial District, lower Manhattan adjacent to the Doubletree hotel. We went here for my birthday dinner (no reservations required). It was convenient as its entrance was within our hotel so we had to try it. The restaurant is small but has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a wine bar. I had their 'Fettuccine alla Sorrentino' and my husband had their 'Carbonara'. For dessert, we had a 'Sorbet' and 'Cannoli'. Food tasted fresh and was really good. However, I felt all was a bit overpriced for what it was. We had wine and were asked if we wanted 'still' or 'sparkling' water, so we opted for 'still'. To my surprise, they added a $9 cost to my bill for the water (that I didn't ask for). I had never been charged for water no matter how boujee the restaurant is. Another thing I did not like was the forced, automatic 20% tip on our bill for a party of 2, especially because I don't know how to feel about the service. It felt a bit awkward with the man who served us. Had no personality and seemed offended with our menu questions, as if we're supposed to know. Overall, we did enjoy the food but will not return during our stay based on this experience.
While I understand that takeout may not be as visually appealing as dining in, my recent experience with room service from Antica, where I was staying in the hotel above, was disappointing. It took over an hour for my fettuccine Alfredo to be delivered, and when it arrived, I was taken aback by its quality. The dish was excessively greasy and had an off-putting aftertaste, making it unenjoyable. Unfortunately, for $26, I expected much better. Overall, I felt let down and regretful about my choice.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. We were so excited to spend New Year’s Eve at this restaurant — our first time in NYC — and it ended up being the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Our reservation was at 9:00 pm. We were seated at 9:02 pm, and two members of our party arrived about 15 minutes later due to an emergency. No one offered us a wine list, so we had to ask for one. After it was brought to the table, no one returned for at least 10 minutes to take our order. A tall gentleman with gray hair eventually came over, not in a friendly way, only to point out that the kitchen would close at 10:00 pm and to ask about the rest of our group. We explained they were on their way, but the tone felt unwelcoming and rushed. My mother asked if someone who spoke Spanish could help, and he repeatedly insisted on continuing in English instead of trying to accommodate her. At that point, we decided to leave — and because it was almost 10:00 pm on New Year’s Eve, we couldn’t find another place for dinner. We ended up eating tacos near our hotel, where we received far better hospitality than at this supposedly “high-end” restaurant. Overall, we left disappointed and disrespected. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially for a special occasion.
left my jacket at this restaurant on August 24, 2025. When I called, the staff told me they would keep it safe until I could pick it up. I even explained that I don’t live in this city and would need my friend to collect it later — they said that was fine. But when I went back today, they told me the jacket had been destroyed or thrown away. This is extremely ridiculous and very disappointing, especially after I was clearly assured over the phone that it would be kept for me. Terrible way to treat customers. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
