Opinions de Aria West Village New York
We had such an amazing experience at White Horse Tavern. Even our picky daughters (when they want to be) had a great time. We took them out of school for an adventurous city day and we were looking for a kid friendly place to eat in the area. This was it. Do they have a children’s menu? No but they have what kids on a picky day would like, starchy foods like a pretzel and chips with guac. We did think they had Mac and cheese but we were told that was only on the dinner menu. Whatever, we made it work. Kids got to eat and us parents were able to eat and have a drink. Hands down the best dirty martini I ever had. They knew EXACTLY how to work with Bombay Saphire… not many places do. My husband had the burger with blue cheese and he states it was the best burger he had in the city in a very long time. I had the Clam Chowder pot pie. It was excellent. The broth could have been thicker but I wasn’t mad about it. At some point the chef came out to introduce himself and ask how our food was. The girls gave their thumbs up and we were so happy to praise him on his skills. We all left with our bellies full. To the hostesses that greeted our girls on 10/28, you guys were AMAZING. They were so happy you guys played along with them and they felt super welcomed at a new (to them) establishment that they visited. Our waitress rocked and made sure we got what we needed, especially extra chips for their guac. Definitely visit this place, have a drink, eat their food, and enjoy the atmosphere.
Great food and atmosphere, hasn't lost its touch as a nyc classic
One of the most iconic burgers in all of New York City! This place has been doing it right for a few centuries now! All of the drinks are fantastic, you cannot go wrong with any of them. And get all the apps the Caesar salad, the nachos the calamari we devoured it all! Came for this burger and stayed for the vibes
The Best every time I go great hospitality, killer food, and always a good time
I honestly do not know how long White Horse Tavern has been in existence, but my friend and I discovered it on Sunday, January 30, 2022. She and I went to celebrate our respective Birthdays. It was our first time, but not our last. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the decor was lovely. Although reservations are recommended, it is not a requirement, but both my friend and I were most thankful we had the option of one of two tables. There is a dining limit, and one must wear face coverings when neither eating nor drinking. Also, one must be fully vaccinated for covid19, and present proof of vaccination status. I definitely look forward to returning to this wonderful restaurant, as soon as I can.
You feel the energy of the room when you walk in. History here. The drinks were outstanding, service was stellar and the Gouda beer cheese was amazing with the soft Pretzels. Will be back!
Stopped in to have a few beers and cocktails and ended up staying for hours. We ended up getting some fries, sweet potato fries and a New York cheesecake. Tom took great care of us the entire time.
i loved the feel of this old tavern. I didn't get to spend a lot of time there since I was on my way to the airport. Nice little place to absorb the local history. Food is decent as it is a tavern.
Lovely pub and welcoming staff. We loved coming here while in NYC and they have happy hour too! We would like to try the food next time we visit as it looked delicious!!
Spent NYE here and had the best time! It’s so well organized between the open bar, table options, and food offerings. Jordan was our server and really made the experience! He was so kind and helpful and made our night so memorable. Highly recommend this place for events!
My life long friend from camp, Megaera, has an apartment around the corner from the White Horse Tavern. I live in Chicago, and she had never been here, when I looked up and saw the sign and said “THAT’S where we are going for lunch!” We met Geoffrey the host who gave us several options for tables, and we picked the third room where we met Miriam, who is lovely—ironically, she grew up near where Megaera and I met! Then we met Ryan, the GM who grew up not far from where I grew up. Lovely, happy, charming, the food was great the service was fabulous, the ambience cozy, comfortable, charming, and we can’t wait to come back again.
One of the best watering holes in NYC! Visted for the first time over the holidays and can’t believe I’ve never been. we got the burgers which were solid, drinks and service were tops! Avery and the manager killed it for us. Will have to come back more in the New Year!
Jordan was such an amazing waitor!!! He was so attentive to what we needed and willing to make any changes that we requested. Whoever is manager needs to give this man a raise fr!!!! We had such a big group and he gave us all everything we wanted and more!!! Such a charamatic and funny guy that really cared about how we were doing
Here’s a polished review you can post: Aria West Village Had a wonderful experience at Aria West Village. Angel was an exceptional bartender—warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, which immediately set the tone for the night. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. A perfect spot for great service, great drinks, and a fantastic overall dining experience. Highly recommend.
Here’s a polished, ready-to-post review you can use: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Aria West Village Aria West Village continues to be one of my favorite neighborhood spots. The pasta is consistently delicious—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Every dish we ordered was comforting yet elevated, the kind of food you crave long after you leave. What truly made the experience stand out was our waiter, Alex. He was attentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable without ever being intrusive. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made the entire evening feel relaxed and seamless. Between the outstanding service, cozy atmosphere, and exceptional pasta, Aria never disappoints. Highly recommend—and if you’re lucky enough to have Alex taking care of you, you’re in great hands.
A really good - very reasonably priced - Italian restaurant in West Village - all the food was super tasty and service sizes were generous - including the steaks. Very nice atmosphere - but it is very loud. The service was very good as well. If you need an Italian restaurant in the Village - Aria is a great choice. (We went again recently - and again everything was great. It was much less busy and super pleasant.)
We stumbled upon Aria’s Wine Bar while exploring the area and looking for a place to eat without a reservation. To our luck, they were able to seat us outside right away. It didn’t seem like there was any issue getting outdoor seating—perhaps because it was late October and a bit chilly—but we didn’t mind at all. The staff were incredibly accommodating and attentive to every table. Our waiter (I wish I could remember his name!) was especially wonderful. He was friendly, helpful, and full of great recommendations. We told him we wanted to enjoy some drinks and small plates, and he guided us perfectly. We ended up ordering all of his suggestions, and every dish was fantastic. The fried calamari was crisp, perfectly seasoned, and had great texture. The prosciutto with burrata drizzled in truffle oil was rich and flavorful. And to finish, the tiramisu was heavenly—soft, creamy, and exactly what I was hoping for. For drinks, my wife enjoyed a glass of wine, and I had a refreshing mojito—both were excellent complements to our meal. Overall, we had such a lovely experience and can’t wait to return to try the main dishes next time. Thank you, Aria’s Wine Bar, for a delicious and memorable evening!
Aria Wine Bar is one of our all-time favorite spots in NYC — we’ve been loyal customers for over 12 years and it never disappoints! The food is always delicious, truly like being back in Italy 🇮🇹 The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, and the service is consistently amazing — friendly, fast, and full of charm. The only (tiny!) downside this time: no mayonnaise for the calamari fritti. I’m not a fan of dipping them in warm tomato sauce. But honestly, everything else was perfect as always. Aria remains a must-visit in the West Village. Thank you for all these wonderful memories over the years! 🥂🍝💛
Searched RESY for a tapas restaurant and was plenary surprised when an Italian restaurant showed up. We did not have reservations and went at 5 on a Friday. We were seated with no issue, at this point it was basically empty. Within half an hour there wasn’t a seat in the place. We had the grilled octopus salad as well as the goat cheese and mango salad to start. Both were outstanding. For main courses we had the lobster risotto and the lamb shank. The lobster was cut into pieces like little prizes throughout the risotto. The bone on lamb shank over risotto was so tender it fell off the bone. We will absolutely be back, we loved this meal!
This place is amazing, it's a cozy area and has a wonderful staff. They treated us so well and made our day more special. The food was delicious, and also the drinks! My favorite food was the warm chocolate cake. Definitely a nice place to hang out with friends or have a first date.
This place was fantastic! The service was exceptional and they walked us through the menu, the specials in detail, didn’t rush us to order and let us take our time. The burrata, Caesar salad, pesto pasta, mushroom truffle pasta were heavenly . Also wnjoyed the Chianti they had to offer, prices were also amazing, about &60 a person for a table of 4 - including tax tip 3 drinks a person , an appetizer per couple and 4 entrees…HUGE! Thank you!
Absolutely love this place. If you can’t find a table, try their sister restaurant around the corner. Such a cozy vibe instead with great specials. We started off with the goat cheese and tomato sauce and the meatballs. Both were killer and I’d order them again. For starters, we had the risotto of the day which was mushroom and Parmesan risotto, and the penne pasta. Overall fantastic meal with quick service.
We stopped here for lunch. I ordered one of the specials, the grilled octopus salad. The octopus had been sliced into bite sized pieces and arranged in a beautiful presentation over a bed of salad made with celery, thin sliced potatoes, tomatoes and more. The octopus was tender and cooked perfectly. My partner ordered lobster ravioli with vodka sauce. They kept the sauce simple so that the tortelloni could speak for themselves. Great restaurant for any occasion. Had been to the 51st St. location before for dinner over Italian tapas and had a great experience too. But the West Village location provides the same excellence in the food and service with the magic of being in the West Village. Brunch was great, with a good mix of white omelette, gnocchi, tuna tartare, and refreshing spritzer based on Campari and Proseco. We got there around 1 pm for brunch, witbout reservation, and did not wait at all. Were able to accommodate a stroller and enjoy a great service until we felt satisfied. Fresh in-house - made bread is delicious too. At the 51st street we did have to make reservation and felt much more crowded. Will be coming back multiple times!
This experience was very cute! The tavern has the dark ambient lighting i love so much, and they really gave us a choice of where we wanted to sit which was really nice. The food was good, the spinach and artichoke dip came out cold, but we didn't complain about it, it was still pretty good. I didn't expect the bill to be as high as it was, but the drink I had was so good, i had to order a few of those. It was some sort of grapefruit drink I can't remember the name of.
I had a surprisingly nice meal at The White Horse Tavern. The Wellfleet Oysters were a bit on the small side, but were fresh and delicious. The lobster roll did not disappoint, and the fried pickles were a treat. Service was attentive and professional. Best was the great setting in the old tavern.
Nice spot with street dining, you can admire all the people passing by. The smashed burger was amazing, really juicy and with lots of flavor from the pickles and onions, the fries were really good also. The crispy calamari was also really really good, the crust was crispy and the calamari really tender. Good selection of German draft beers. The service wasn’t that good, there was only one server for all the outside tables.
I didn’t have food, only happy hour which was limited but my glass of wi e was nicely chilled. The place is gorgeous though. Anddddd they have a celebrity as the host which was simple I was so excited to meet
Food was good. The beet salad is a must have. I enjoyed the blue cheese burger but my husband not so much. Hence the 4 star for food. The calamari is ok but served with a tomato sauce, which wasn't great. Certainly have had much better calamari. Service was friendly and the vibe of the bar is great. Feels like it's been there a long time. Would recommend for a quick bite if you're in the area.
i got the french onion soup. $24 and pretty small, actually all portion sizes were small. even the diet coke. my friend also got the french onion soup, but as marked on the menu, she was able to make it gluten free friendly. this was initially exciting, as the menu has lots of gluten free friendly options! but the dish was made gluten free by just removing the croutons. we were expecting some sort of substitution, or at least a price difference if an element is being removed. but no worries, seems like restaurant business. the atmosphere was incredible!!!! dark at first, but they gave us real candles. rare to these days. i felt as though i were in a jazz club after hours, and in the best way possible. i agree with other reviewers that the drink prices are steep, but maybe that’s just new york city. i’m glad we ate there!
We stopped by Aria in the West Village on a whim to ask if they had any availability for 6 PM—and the manager was incredibly kind and welcoming. He told us to come back at 6, and when we arrived right on time, he personally sat us in a cozy corner spot. Such a warm start! Service was definitely a highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive, and really on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. They checked in at the right moments and made the experience feel relaxed and easy. As for the food, it was good—nothing overly spectacular, but still enjoyable. The ambiance and service definitely carried the experience. Aria is a charming neighborhood spot tucked along Bedford, perfect for casual drinks, small bites, and soaking in that West Village vibe. A nice place to stop by if you’re in the area and want something simple with great service and a welcoming atmosphere.
I love this little Italian gem. The food is great; I would always recommend their daily specials (see pics(i got the black truffle gnocchi, and my friend got their pasta vongole in rosso*chef kiss*)). The wine is at a decent price w/ great everyday selections. There was a small incident during this particular visit, but I won't blow up their spot due to it was out of their control. However, it would've been nice for the waiter to show more empathy than just say "ohhh" (comp wine, discount on bills, even apologizing to us would've been nice). Again, I understand the issue (I still won't say) was out of your control, but if you're in customer service, then be more hospitable. I frequent here and never really had an issue, so I will go back still (for now). However, I won't be so nice about it if I encounter any negative experience.
Great pasta spot, but very crowded and the servers are definitely overworked and hence a bit rude. The actual food is delicious, we had the eggplant, the crab cakes, the mushroom fettuccine and the shrimp rigatoni - the portions are generous and the flavor is on point. I wish it was a bit less loud and crowded! But would highly recommend for the food.
I booked the outdoor seating in Dec and can’t say it was the best choice. Went thinking there’d be Christmas decor but none. We were sat at the very point of the servers’ entrance so they had to frequently squeeze past our table (it’s a narrow space) & that was rather uncomfortable. There was also no music outside. On the other hand, the indoor space looked very cosy and fun albeit crowded. Food was alright, had some pretzel bites, steak and a sandwich. Some parts of the steak was medium-medium well instead of medium rare. Cocktails were nice and strong. Good service. Totalled to $126 for 2.
