Bar 54 is hands down the best rooftop I’ve ever been to in Manhattan! In just one week I went twice – once with friends visiting from the Bahamas and Poland, and another time for a date night with my husband. The views are absolutely breathtaking and something you won’t forget. For sure the best view for the NYE ball drop The drinks are amazing – I had a Pornstar Martini that was honestly the best I’ve ever tried. Incredible atmosphere, great service, and unforgettable experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The views from Bar 54 at the Hyatt Centric Times Square are just breathtaking. As one of the highest hotel rooftop bars in the city, its reputation is well-deserved. We loved sipping on our cocktails high above the city. The prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the drinks and the stunning setting make it absolutely worth it.

The city views were absolutely stunning, and Times Square sparkled below. Service was excellent, with attentive staff always ready to assist. The food was on par for a place of this stature and well presented The overall atmosphere was elegant, but also modern and cool. It was a perfect setting for a special occasion or a night out. I'm definitely going back for more.

You're not going here to eat but the light menu is enough to keep you going till your next stop. You really are going here for the views while having a cocktail before or after your night out. We were staying at the Hyatt and visited the Bar frequently enjoying the views at different times. A must stop!

Elevated ambiance inside and quite limited but cool views outside facing south west with a dozen of tables. The cocktails are good and priced on par with the NYC rooftops. If you don't mind Times Square - it is a perfect rooftop in the area. Great visibility of dropping New Years ball.

Known as the highest outdoor rooftop bar in NYC, Bar 54 lives up to the hype. The view is stunning from all angles of the bar as you see many famous parts of the NYC skyline, Central Park, and Times Square. The ambiance is upscale with music at a low volume, restaurant seating, and an elegant atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. We chose to sit at the bar and the bartender was good with maintaining a conversation and having a light-hearted mood. Seating is limited so I would suggest getting there early or coming on a weeknight. They are also very strict with the age policy and will not allow anyone under the age of 21 to enter. Prices are more on the expensive side, but they seem worth it, especially for the view and quality of service. I did not get to try the food but would come back to enjoy a dinner and some drinks with family or friends. 5/5 stars!

Rooftop bars are one of my favorite activities in a new city. I looked for one within walking distance of our hotel near Times Square, that took reservations, and had good reviews for the views. Reservations were easy, and while the glass barrier means you can’t look straight down, the vibe is still worth it as a rooftop bar. A glass of champagne and a cocktail set us back approximately $67, including gratuity. There is supposedly a time limit to the table reservation, but we were not hurried at all by the waitstaff. It was a very relaxed time, and it was gorgeous outside in early October.

Gebo's Garage

Try to get a reservation for the balcony seating area before you arrive. This will change your entire experience. Otherwise, you're having cocktails inside, and although nice, its better to be out where you can see. Its a small, cozy atmosphere. The staff is accommodating when we arrived without reservation and we appreciate that.

We went there for the first time and had a bottle of champagne. I didn’t find the view as being the best as announced. It’s overcrowded with the surroundings. There are definitely better rooftops’ views in New York. The service was great though.

Food and drinks were pricy, but that's to be expected for the novelty. The food we tried was all excellent though!!! Truly great food and dessert. The drinks weren't bad. The view up there was really nice. They have glass walls though, to prevent idiots from idioting, and it kind of obstructs the view and makes it difficult to get pictures. There are small gaps where you can try to snag pics. Could see the tower lights from the 9/11 memorial area pretty well. Was a good experience.

It is a very nice bar with a good view, shame the balcony does not go the whole way round. Drinks are very expensive however.

My wife and I are used to dining at really nice restaurants. We usually make an effort to fit in one fine dining experience on every trip we take. I know that Bar54 is far from fine dining but certain things are expected when you are shelling out 25 dollars for a cocktail and customer service should be one of them. Our waitress seemed annoyed and bothered serving us, maybe because it was at the tail end of her shift or maybe because it was close to closing time, but nevertheless, you are expected to treat the customer with some level of respect and courtesy. Not only was her energy extremely negative. She forgot my drink and never came around to fill our waters. She rushed to remove our plates and was quick to automatically add 18% gratuity for herself. I don’t know if this is the restaurants policy, but I’ve never been to a restaurant where they automatically add this to a party of 2. Maybe it’s a New York thing, (as we’re from California). The food however was really really good and we were seated promptly by the host. Also staying at the hotel for 5 days. Maybe the waitress Cristina with no H really hates her job or was really tired. Regardless didn’t expect that lack of professionalism that me and my wife are used to. Would have given 5 stars if not for the service or lack there of.

The view here is absolutely beautiful. It’s very classy and elegant. However I had a small issue with one of the servers. Very small but noteworthy. I asked if they have ice water with lemon and I was looked at weirdly? I like having water with my cocktails. Then she immediately said “you need to have a drink if you’re out here to sit here” there are better ways in telling me that. It just came off with slight attitude. She did improve but never apologized in the end and it just left a bad taste.

The person serving was rude and pressured us to order right away, got the bill along with the order even though we asked before sitting. I guess they just wanted to make some extra bucks before closing by rushing us into finishing up. The view is beautiful but they should not let people sit if they’re closing much before the mentioned closing time on week days. On top he added a 16% gratuity on a party of 2 while we barely spent 20 mins trying to rush through the order and the 1 drink we had. Very Disappointing Experience We arrived at Bar 54 around 11:00 PM tonight for a drink. According to Google, the bar closes at 12:00 AM. We were allowed to enter and go up to the rooftop. However, once we arrived upstairs, a hostess informed us that we could no longer order anything, but that we were welcome to look around. About five minutes later, a man approached us and told us we were not allowed to take photos and that we needed to leave. It was only 11:30 PM. When I politely asked if he was the manager or owner, he stated that he was “one of the highest owners” and insisted that we had to consume something to stay. The issue is — we absolutely intended to order drinks. We arrived specifically for that. However, we were told multiple times that they were no longer serving anything. The entire interaction felt dismissive and prejudiced, as if we were being judged under the assumption that we did not intend to spend money. We were a group of women of different ages and styles, and the treatment felt unnecessarily hostile and discriminatory. Regardless of how busy a venue may be, customer service should remain respectful and professional — especially when guests arrive within business hours. Unfortunately, this experience was quite unpleasant and left a very negative impression.
