Opinions de Connolly's New York
We came to Connolly's because it was right next door to our hotel, and I'm so glad we did! It is the epitome of an authentic Irish pub. The decor is warm and wood-paneled, and many of the servers even have Irish accents. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming as well! My husband got the American burger, and I got the fish & chips. The batter on the fish was perfectly crispy, yet the fish was tender and flakey. My husband ordered his burger rare, and it came out excellently rare (which is actually pretty unusual - he always orders rare and it's usually over cooked). Would definitely recommend Connolly's!
Food was awesome (I had bangers and mash followed by chocolate brownie) Both arrived amazingly quickly, however this did not deter from the quality. Superb service. Staff extremely friendly.
A really great place! My friends and I really enjoyed the service, and the food was incredibly delicious. Our waitress, Gina, was very pleasant and helped us with our choices. During our next visit to New York, we’ll definitely come here again!
Ate here several times during my extended blizzard stay bc it was next to my hotel and wow what a great little place. Service was stellar, every meal was scorching hot and fresh, and prices were reasonable.
Connolly's Irish Pub in NYC offers a comforting bowl of Traditional Irish Stew that's perfect for a hearty meal. The slow-cooked meat and vegetables are packed with flavour, and the creamy mashed potatoes add a rich, smooth element to the dish. It's the ideal choice for a filling and satisfying meal in a cosy pub setting.
Great reasonably priced food, and atmosphere, Very attentive staff right in the heart of Time square and if you get to meet Berni the owner as we did he's a thorough gentleman. Definitely worth a visit and we're looking forward to returning to Connolly's.
I’ve never been to Ireland, but these were literally the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Service was super fast and the Irish red ale was delicious too.
Best food and drinks around Times Square. And that's saying a lot! Especially the walnut crusted salmon! Typical Irish fare in a huge pub/restaurant with multiple floors. Personally love the afternoons when it's not too crowded. Worth the stop and the prices are reasonable for the area as well.
Highly recommend. Fantastic pub in the middle of the city. Good prices. Great food. Good service. Iconic among those that know what to look for as far as quality. Nothing fancy, but that’s not what you’re looking for if you find yourself here. GO HERE.
Connolly's is a welcoming bar with a staff that is cool with all the people. It's been established in the city for a long time and we've met a lot of regulars there - many of them whom are Irish. We almost ordered pretty much everything here on the menu. From their Chicken wings to their Pot Pie. We recommend the most is their Hip-Hop Cheeseburger Wrap. Having a Cheeseburger in a Wrap is different from how we usually eat cheeseburgers. This was the first place we ever had a Cheeseburger in a tortilla. Overall, a cheeseburger wrap gave a combination of savory, salty, and tangy flavors, as well as a mix of textures.
By pure luck, we walked into Connolly's and had one of our best meals ever. Many return visits later, service still impresses. With minor exceptions, the food was excellent. Get a few plates to share around the table. I endorsed this good spot to many.
This is a very friendly and welcoming Irish restaurant and bar. There's a happy and comfy vibe here. I really loved the Paulaner wheat beer; not too sweet and not too bitter. The food was exceptionally fast. They have a fairly simple menu. The food was fresh and to temp. The fish and chips were pleasant. The beef stew was delightful. Reasonable prices for NYC. There is plenty of bar space and an upper level also.
It’s a pub, so the drinks are good. It has a proper (nice) old school, traditional Irish Pub ambiance. The food were average. The Fish and Chips dish was decent, but the burger (pictured) was forgettable. I ordered medium rare and it came medium, understandably flavor was dropped by half. Service was fine and efficient. Prices were reasonable. This may not be the place you have to put on your bucket list, but if you happen to be in Times Square and want a place to hangout for food and drinks, this can be an option. ________________ ✅Weight loss specialist. 🔥Impressive Weight Loss. Loved this pub!! Went there twice during our 3 day trip to NY. The Chinese chicken salad was the best I've ever had. It was like Tandoori chicken. The next time I tried the raisin walnut salad, it was great too. The long island ice tea was great. My husband had their buffalo chicken wings, he loved it. Definitely recommend this place (especially for some flavorful salads)
Loved it. Great beer. Great food. Classic Irish Pub atmosphere…and the best part…the proprietor, Bill Sullivan!! Genuinely an interesting, fun people-person. Really enjoyed both his establishment and his personality!
The Irish Pub atmosphere really worked for me. I am a pot pie lover, and Connolly's knows how to make a pot pie! The crust was light and flaky, the sauce was creamy, and the chicken was tender. I tasted my kid's fries and burger and had almost wished I ordered that. The loaded nachos were large enough for two and an absolute delight! Our waiter was a gem! The host was very welcoming aswell. Convient 3-4 minute walk from Time Square main strip. Next time I'm in New York, I'll definitely visit again!
This restaurant was a fortunate discovery! Connolly's provided a noteworthy visit. You'll get your money's worth with these serving sizes. The workers provide exceptional assistance and genuine appreciation for their offerings. This place merits a visit.
Great Irish pub in the Times Square area. Staff is wonderful, fish and chips and burgers are always delicious! Service is great! Great draft beer menu!
Love this bar near times square and the theaters. Had the fish and chips which were crispy, fluffy with a tasty bear batter. The shepherd's pie was very flavorful with lots of meatsnd gravy. Excellent meal before seeing a show.
Great pub. We were not able to get reservations, so showed up and they made a place for us in the bar. We had the portobello faccacia and the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious. The atmosphere is just what you'd expect from an Irish pub in New York City. Football, somewhat loud... but not too much by any stretch, good food, good suds and great people.
It's the place to go when visiting New york, 121 West 45th Street right beside Times Square. Premises are clean and tidy, food is wonderful and staff are great and if you are lucky enough to run into Bernie (the host with the most) he will regale you with stories from past, present and even future and not a crystal ball in sight, He is kind with his time and generous to a fault, The world needs more Bernie's . An amazing experience. 5 stars all around See you all soon ....
Great Irish pub for the season of St.Patrick. location is great, a block from time square. The potatoes leak soup was amazing as was the Shepards pie. The service was great too, very quick and attentive without being overbearing in any way. Give traditional Irish pub vibes and great selection of beer and whiskey Hoghly recommend!
Stopped in on a Saturday night after a comedy show and sat at the bar upstairs. First time here and it was pretty busy. I just wanted to get a quick bite to eat before I headed back to Jersey and I’m glad I stopped at Connolly’s. I was craving chicken wings so I ordered the mild buffalo wings and an Angry Orchard. The wings were so damn good!! The service was great as well and the Irish accent of my bartender was the icing on the cake! Can’t wait to go back!
A great place to book your live show. John, the sound professional, is terrific to work with and knows his business. Decent back line, the audience was very happy with the mix, and we as the presenters had a terrific time. Thank you everyone on staff for making our showcase wonderful.
This place is wonderful! We arrived with a party of 14 for lunch. We had no reservations as we had just arrived from Iowa and were walking around Times Square. The hostess didn’t even blink. She opened up the upstairs dining room, got us seated, and found a waitress who was equally amazing! The food was simply delicious. We ordered the calamari and several other appetizers and each was very good. The service was above and beyond. The chicken pot pie was a huge hit, as well as the fish and chips, and salmon with a walnut crust. The portions are very generous. There was not one dish served to us that wasn’t at least five stars. If we lived here I would frequent this gem all the time!
My wife and I were recently in New York from Scotland and Connolly's was my favourite place for a beer! They have so many beers on tap, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and chilled. The patrons were also more knowledgeable about football (soccer) than they were in some other establishments that I watched the Euros in!
An incredible irish bar with the most amusing and loving staff. Showing you an amazing time and serve you, the best drinks that money can buy. If you can't make it to dublin, you have to make it here. No joke A must see!!!!
This was our second time at Connolly’s and it was just as good as the first. Our niece met us here, and she arrived first. Got a comfortable booth with excellent wait staff! Food was good and plentiful. Niece and Husband had the Irish stew, and I had the Chicken Cheese Quesadilla. We left food behind because we were full & had no safe way to bring leftovers to our hotels for tomorrow’s snack. The place is beautiful, warm & comfortable. We didn’t feel rushed at all. We’ll definitely be back!
After almost 10 years, it was great to get to experience this fine establishment with my family and I'm so glad we did. The service here is brilliant with its friendly staff and flowing coffee. Bernie made a fuss over my niece each time we came in and gave her some Connollys merch, he ever got her to be posted on their Instagram page. The breakfast was a hit every time. I highly recommend the French toast. It comes with fresh fruit and a bowl of maple syrup and it tastes so good. The best French toast I've ever had.
This is a really cool spot. It is aesthetically pleasing and exciting to see. They have draft handles as faucets in bathroom and kegs as a sink - that IS really cool and creative. The staff was welcoming and everyone went above and beyond. The serve was kind, professional, efficient and he and the rest of the servers and bussers continually checked on us and other tables. They work as a team. The ambiance is lovely. They okay music but we went during a championship game so game was playing which was the reason for us going in the first place. TVs everywhere. The prices are reasonable. There is a great selection of menu items and plenty of Irish dishes. We ordered the spicy wings, pot pie and fries. The fries are amazing! Nice and airy and crispy and cooked to perfection. The pot pie was good but I personally like a more chicken knorr or poultry seasoning flavoring which I felt lacked. Overall just okay for my liking. The fried were good. Fresh and piping hot. Great place just off time square (one block) wit a great vibe. We settled on their roof top bar that’s closed off with AC but there’s an outdoor are for smokers. I highly recommend this place.
Stopped into Connolly’s Irish Pub & Grill our first night in NYC just for a drink, and the vibes were amazing. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and they mentioned they open daily at 7 a.m. for breakfast. We came back the next morning and had the traditional Irish breakfast, and it did not disappoint at all. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. We’ll definitely be back again before we leave town! 🍀
Great pub, super friendly staff, great beer and whiskey selection, what else could you ask for? Came in on a Friday late afternoon and the upstairs bar was nice and quiet. Had great conversation and ended up staying for a couple more beers than we intended because we were relaxed and enjoying the atmosphere.
Really good Sheppard's pie! Eddie the bartender was super nice downstairs and the hostess was sweet as well. She pointed us in the direction of the rooftop bar and we didn't expect it to be so cool. I recommend taking the elevator up, as the stairs are pretty daunting after walking the city streets all morning. The rooftop bar is all enclosed in the off-season. There's even a balcony smoke section! Pat is the bartender up there, sweet Irish guy. Accent and all. :) Will be back!
Quick trip to the city, stopped in for lunch before the train ride home. Service was great, food was good, the atmosphere was very pleasant. Perfect spot to kill some time around Grand Central. Shane had everything running smooth at the bar and was a pleasant conversation. Definitely will return.
Food in here was amazing, the staff were brilliant. Celebrated my sons 21st birthday and they couldn't have made us more welcome. We went back a 2nd time, different staff and we chose different dishes but again all fantastic. I would definitely return and recommend it.
Recently traveled over from Co . Mayo to Celebrate my Daughters 21st Birthday ,I was Looking for a Spot for Dinner for around 15 people , Connolly’s was ideal, Great food and Service, Prices are very good for the middle of Manhattan. Staff are Lovely. We had a Super night, And a big thank you to Connolly’s Manger Orla who great, Nothing was any trouble. See you guys on our next visit. Kind Regards Sean
Our favourite bar during our entire stay. We visited every day after our first visit was so great, and it became our local! The food was delicious and the service impeccable. Special shout out to Darren the legend. He made us feel so welcome every visit, especially with how busy this bar is and he remembered us and our drinks order and even the football team my parter supported so the bar felt very homely. Would 10/10 recommend. Get yourselves to Connolly’s guys. Will be back next year
This was an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The booth seating was awesome. A nice and quiet atmosphere. This is the best Fish & Chips I’ve had in NYC. I’ve tried several places but Connolly’s got it right. I did make a reservation but it’s not needed. I recommend Connolly’s highly and cannot wait to return.
Exceeded my expectations. 👏👏👏 This s a gem. The beers on tap are stellar. The beer lines are calibrated and cleaned and ON POINT. I ordered the Bangers and Mash with a side of curry fries. Everyone, this is Legit* (see attached photos). Also, this pub and its staff prides themselves on being the very best. Indeed. As an expert on service of excellents, this ...this will meet your expectations and beyond. Kudos Connolly, you would be proud 👏
If you’re looking for a true taste of Ireland in the heart of NYC, Connolly’s Pub is it. We stopped in for a traditional Irish breakfast and left feeling like we had just visited friends in Dublin. The breakfast was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked eggs, hearty sausages, crispy bacon, tomatoes, and beans, all washed down with a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. What really made the experience unforgettable was Barry, the owner. He welcomed us like old friends, shared stories, and even gave us a little tour of his beautiful hotel next door. The tartan seat covers, Irish décor, and cozy atmosphere brought me right back to my honeymoon in Ireland — a place that still feels like home to me. I even fell in love with the coffee mugs… and brought a couple home! ☕ If you want warm hospitality, delicious food, and a genuine Irish experience without leaving New York, Connolly’s Pub is a must.

the NY version of Cheers, where they all know who I am and what my drink of choice is. I try to stop in at least once a week if I can. \nSuch a great atmosphere and the staff are all amazing!
We went to the rooftop. Fun. Great music that could have used more volume. The service was good. The prices were okay. The fish and chips was good. I would return.
Great shepherds pie and chicken pot pie. Drinks are reasonable and they have happy hour.

A big thank you to Orla, Ruth and Ian. Visited with my autistic son. Incredible people, great food, lovely atmosphere. Will go there anytime I have to go to NYC.
Lots of TVs to watch sports, great chicken pot pie and hamburgers—delicious desserts. Very convenient to Broadway and friendly service -our waiter was Irish!!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, on a Friday night. I ordered the Beef stew and it was far from ordinary. The gravy was an onion gravy full of flavors. The serving is hearty and I did not finish my meal. My daughter ordered the Shrimp and Crab pasta (gluten-free and pictured below.) she also lives her dish and could not finish the meal. Service was wonderful and the prices are competitive.
Quite impressive place!!! Four floors of dining experience blocks away from Times Square. The first floor appears to be what you think of when you think Irish Pub...host had Irish accent lol, good bar atmosphere. Third floor had 3 bands playing from 8pm to midnight with a $15 cover. The music was not my style but you cannot beat that price for live music in the city. The wings were amazing and the vibe was fun. Fourth floor was by far the best. There was a great sports feel to the floor with soccer on many large tvs and larger family oriented parties dining. There is an outside deck you can walk out on that gives a great view of Times Square and the cool neon light! I found all the people working here to be friendly and helpful. I would imagine it's a blast in mid March!!!
Had to have a Guinness in New York so popped into Connollys . decided to eat, do ordered Shepherds pie and Irish stew. Both meals arrived, hot but not piping hot. Tasted good which compensated slightly. 2 beers + 2 main meals + tax + 20% gratuity ( which I felt was excessive and shouldn't automatically be applied to the bill). Overall, it was ok, nothing special. Would I visit again? No
Food and drinks were good. Lost a star for being seated by entryway (constant traffic and cold). Didn’t want to complain during a busy dinner hour with no reservation. Servers were attentive. Huntsman sandwich and salmon entrée were both worth having again. The local brews were pretty good too. The tiramisu was average.
Great place to have drinks and supper before going to the theater. They were easily able to accommodate our group of 7, although we did make a reservation a few days in advance. Noisy, busy atmosphere, just what you would expect in the big apple.
Actually was impressed with this place so close to Times Square. Prices were as expected. I had the Greek salad with shrimp. Little too much dressing in my opinion but otherwise very fresh and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. I had some margaritas which were a little heavy on lime juice. Should have requested a double! There’s multiple floors and lots of seats so we don’t have to wait to be seated for a large party of 8. Quick service too which is nice.
After finding a pizza place that we wanted to go to closed we decided to check out Connolly's. Upon entering we were told to go upstairs for quicker service, so we did and we're immediately seated. A server grabbed us waters and I eventually ordered a downeast cider from MA. The cider was super refreshing and had hints of sweetness without being too overpowering. With my stomach not being too happy I ordered a baked potato and my mom the fish and chips substituting the fries for onion rings. Well the onion rings, to put it as nice as possible, had seen better days. They were way over cooked and hard as bricks--we did not need to even bite into one to notice this! Thankfully the server understood and swapped out the rings for another piece of fish. And speaking of the fish it was amazing! Lightly fried and a little crispy around the edges it made every bite so good--no tartar sauce needed! Also, the meal came with coleslaw, which was nice surprise. It was cool and creamy and delicious as well. One of the servers recommended that next time we should get vinegar with the fish as it makes it even better. Great service and good food.
Make sure you have a reservation! We did and were able to get seated faster ... but 30 minutes later than the reservation time. It was a Saturday night in early December and therefore busy. The crowds from Rockefeller Center Spilled Out for blocks in all directions. So getting to the restaurant was a challenge. The food was just okay. It came out very fast, the staff was very attentive and friendly. They're all doing the best they can. A very busy restaurant this Saturday night. They have to say it again, make sure you have a reservation! Pictures is Lance stew and fish and chips. Also other entrees are bangers and mash, potato leek soup, and then pump food.
Overall, solid experience but nothing to call home for. Standard pub with the conventional selections, exactly what you’d expect. Went on a Saturday after 5pm and was seated promptly for four people. Most of the tables were packed by that point so we lucked out. Food: Not a huge menu but they have what you’d expect: fish and chips, sheppard’s pie, chicken pot pie, burgers, corn beef, etc. We got nachos to start, and mains: the Reuben sandwich, fish and chips, and turkey burger. All were fine- not the best and not the worst. Prices were a bit high for the quality, but you’d expect as much in Times Square area. Drinks: The noticeable difference is that they have over 40 beers on tap. We got the Connolly’s Red Ales and they were pretty good. Service: Pretty good for a packed house. Prompt to sit, drinks came within reasonable time, food came fairly short after too. Atmosphere: Exactly what you’d expect for an Irish pub. They have funky door handles so that was an interesting difference.

We were in New York as a cold snap was starting. The Irish stew and a Guinness was just the recipe for a good meal. It's fairly loud and crowded even on a weeknight. I would recommend reservations.
We were after an eggs and bacon type breakfast, and we found this little gem. We were welcomed straight of the bat! Enjoyed the eggs Benny and the tea and coffee!

Came in for a bite to eat at a spot open late enough on a Sunday night. I ordered the French onion soup and the shepherds pie. The French onion soup was super cheesy in a good way, but it was hard to bite without eating so much of it in one bite. The broth and onions though were not cooked and simmered all the way through, so I’ve had better. The shepherds pie was solid though I felt like the entire dish could have used more salt to bring out the flavors of the meat and the potatoes. Pretty good value though!
The service was impeccable. The coziness of the restaurant was great. When walking in, it was hard to find where to sit. Each floor told us to go to another floor which was frustrating. Our waiter ended up being great. The food was mediocre. The chicken pot pie was okay. The cesear salad was alright. The spinach dip was not good at all unfortunately.
Sasha and Ronan really made our evening a spectacular one. The service was great, the ambiance was casual and homey. The dim lighting maybe hiding a lot more than it seems, as the whole place needs a bit of a cleaning, and there was a funky smell as you sat at the bar. The food was not bad, I enjoyed the Shepherd's Pie the best. The Bangers were over cooked, fried to an almost burnt and dried out texture, and the mashed potatoes served with it, were under seasoned, however, I enjoyed the sauce & onions. The Fish & Chips were not the best I've had, the batter itself was heavy, and it was a bit burnt as well. I figure the kitchen was trying to close, and they wanted to kick the orders out quickly, thus some of our dishes were burnt. Drinks were good here!
On our recent visit to New York we found an Irish bar in which to watch the Eng v Irl six nations match. Our first visit was faultless. Sat at the top bar, plenty of screens, atmosphere was incredible the food is top notch. The gentleman behind the bar was friendly, chatting away and we generally had such a lovely time that we decided to go back once more before we were to head home. Unfortunately we were wholly disappointed in our second visit. The lady who served us Eireann was sullen, rude and generally made the experience very unpleasant and uncomfortable. She was more interested in standing by the kitchen chatting away to her friend / colleague than actually ensuring we were okay as customers. Given US wait staff rely so heavily on tips, it would be safe to assume the bare minimum of welcome we receive be pleasant. Gratuity was auto included in the bill so maybe the assumption of a tip meant we didn’t warrant civility or politeness. Left with an undoubtedly unpleasant taste in our mouths, and we won’t be returning to Connolly’s when we come back to New York next.
Very good service. Place has a lotta miles on it (e.g. the floor desperately needs to be refinished). My Reuben was supposed to be open face as per the menu and was not. The corned beef was tough. Not enough dressing, either.
I ate here with my wife and few nights ago. Ths food was pretty good and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, but the staff wasn't very friendly. Our server disappeared after we placed our order and we never saw him again. We had to ask someone else to refill drinks and get us checked out, and they were very weird about it.
Went two nights since the place was next to our hotel and there was a snow storm. I enjoyed the burger more than the Shepherd's pie. The Nachos were very good. I was not crazy about the mozzarella sticks. By far the least friendly service we had on our trip to New York. Maybe it was just our waiter, we had the same guy both nights. The place looks like a great Irish Pub, but it just didn't feel like one. I was hoping something like The Field in Ft. Lauderdale but I was disappointed. Maybe if they had Irish music. Maybe they do, on another floor or another night.

Only okay. My shepard's pie was mostly rather bland mashed potatoes. My friend had beef stew which she said was okay. We asked for rolls or bread and were offered crackers?
Our server was great, funny, attentive but not annoying. Burger wasn’t cooked right (MW not MR), so wasn’t juicy and a bit dry. chicken pot pie was good though. Creamy flavorful. Food served quickly.

I was so excited bc the steak dinner looked amazing , I ordered my steak medium it came over done like leather … chicken tenders over cooked don’t bother and green beans were undercooked …my husband had a wrap he said no cucumbers .. it came with cucumbers had to wait 30 minutes before someone came and checked on us so I can tell them about the steak , the cook was very nice he apologized , but our waiter disappeared was hard to find …the guy behind the bar was nice until i went to leave and he yelled to us in front of everyone there that he wanted more money … we paid our bill we tipped him even after waiting an hour on another meal cause they messed up but it wasn’t good enough for him he wanted money he said for all the staff .. I find that super rude especially after our order being wrong and gross . The potatoes had no salt or flavor … 4$ per can of soda …. Stay humble we didn’t buy drinks at the bar we had no reason to tip the bartenders too and that pissed him off sad bc I’m Irish and we are not brought up that way ..
We spent a lot of time here last year. Food and drinks were always good and so was the service. So on our trip this year, we wanted to spend our money here. We had a few drinks at the bar on Thursday when we arrived. Had some great chat with the bar man and decided that’s where we would eat on Friday. Anyway after that, we won’t go again. We went in at around 4.15pn it was quiet and we ordered starters and mains. Whilst eating our starters, a guy brought our mains taking our starters “you finished with these yeah” was what he said. We sort of felt awkward so said yes. While eating our mains we were asked if we wanted dessert!? I dunno love can I eat my salad first! Then asked if we wanted another drink. At the time we didn’t, but we were. Then boom bill appeared. All this in 40 minutes. Very rushed, very pushed out. Servers were going on about the Canadians coming and that was their priority. Very sad and disappointing service. We were spend our money elsewhere for the duration of our stay and tip the servers who actually deserve it
We had dinner at Connolly’s near Times Square today as a family of five. I had reserved a table in advance, though the restaurant was only moderately busy when we arrived. We ordered Fish & Chips, three Gaelic Burgers, and a chicken dish for our youngest. The food was okay — I’d rate it as average at best. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The staff was inattentive and borderline unfriendly. We had to ask multiple times for drinks we had already ordered. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill, making it impossible to reflect the poor service with the tip. We’ve been traveling in the U.S. for 12 days now, and this was by far the weakest service experience we’ve had. If you’re looking for better options near Times Square, I highly recommend Brooklyn Diner or Friedman’s — both miles ahead in terms of quality and hospitality.
I've had a terrific time here at St. Patrick's Day, but not good on a recent trip where the place was practically empty. If I didn't know to ask for upstairs seating, I would have been relegated to the dark downstairs. Thankfully, someone overheard and interceded because the front of house folks were not communicating well. I initially had a wonderful server upstairs, but a big party was coming in so I was moved and forgotten. I had to track someone down to remind them I had asked for water on this blazing hot day. I appreciated that they found a spot for me near a TV as requested. The Margarita flatbread had some sauce on it, absolutely no crushed tomatoes as described, and just little bits of shredded basil. No one ever came back to check and I finally found another server so I could pay and get out of there. I had asked the server if something had gone wrong between moving my heat and also commented that the food was not as described and was just told she was sorry for my experience. Never again.

unfriendly staff, service is ok, food decent but the atmosphere and the vibe is just not good. I feel like this is a 50 plus place for people. Wouldn't go back.

Was a pleasant experience until came to paying the bill where the waitress had already added a tip to the bill herself. When I asked about it she said it's fine and shoved to card reader in my face making me pay without questioning. Was a nasty tactic that made me feel I'd been mugged as I left.
I brought my sister here when she came visiting from out of state. I'd never been here before and was always curious to try it because I love Irish pubs and this one looked especially festive and well-appointed from the outside. It was indeed lively and warm inside. We decided to sit at the upstairs bar because downstairs was pretty crowded. For some reason, one of the upstairs bartenders seemed to take an immediate disliking to us the second we sat down at the bar. He kept glowering at us for the whole visit. Sis ordered a Bud Light for her second drink from one of the much warmer & friendlier bartenders, as our angry friend had stepped away, and was served it in a proper pint glass. She ordered the same again from Angry Man who served it in a much smaller Bud Light glass which looked enough like a can that she asked Angry Man for what she'd had before. Barely able to contain his fury at us, the Angry Man demonstrated that it was, in fact, a glass. Sis let it go, but I was shocked at his hostility and embarrassed that I'd brought an out-of-towner to be abused by this guy. We were nicely dressed and weren't wearing anything offensive or political so I have no idea why he hated us so much. The drinks were fine. The fries were good. The mozz sticks were a little congealed, but if we'd been served the whole time by that other nice friendly guy, I'm betting we would've come away with much warmer memories.
The bartender was discriminating against me. I asked for a drink at 3:00 am and it wasn’t even for me, I was ordering it for another customer out of the kindness of my heart. He didn’t serve the patron, but turned around and served another customer right in front of all of us 3:40 AM. How disgusting on his part to do this!
Overall experience is one star after how the check was split with half cash and half on my bank card. Our waitress on 1/3 (Nicole) initially pocketed the cash for payment and proceeded to charge my card in full. I caught that instantly on the receipt and explained that I initially planned on doing 50/50 as payment. She then gave back my cash ($35) and I requested a re-do for the check; only to find her claiming that only $25 was given to her and charged my card the remaining balance of the check. In hindsight, she self-pocketed $10 as a tip and tried to claim innocence. Be aware when split paying folks.
Atmosphere seemed fun. Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy any of it. The hotess was so rude. She wanted to place us on a table right by the door where it was cold and people kept walking in and out. It would have been freezing. We understood they were busy and asked if we could wait for another table. She gave us the rudest look ever and said they were too busy for requests. Ridiculous. You do not treat customers that way. There are plenty of other places to eat here. I can forgive a lot of things in a restaurant, but rudeness is completely unnecessary.
We went here for our first meal after landing in NYC for the first time of our lives. We were staying just next door at the Hotel St. James. While perusing the menu, we asked our server about whether celery was present in the food. I'm allergic to celery. It causes hives and those hives can become painful. She said, "I can go ask." She came back and let us know the chicken pot pie had celery. So, I chose something else and asked if it had celery. She said, "I can go ask." She comes back and points to the menu and says, "All of that has celery." I said, "Oh, I am allergic, so I guess I'll just take the onion soup." A while later, I walk to the restroom and hear her and another server and what I guess was the kitchen staff using baby voices to declare, "Does it have celery!? Is there celery in it? I'm allllergic." In a southern accent. I'm from Atlanta and definitely southern. It was a horrible feeling, so we paid and left with most of the food uneaten. We went back to the hotel, and I started to have hives around my mouth. So, celery was present in the soup she said didn't have any celery, too. I had to use my Epi-Pen and then spent way too much of my three days in NYC looking for a place to get it refilled. Word of advice, we had planned on leaving a tip of $500.00 to celebrate our first meal in NYC and to hopefully make a random server's day. That didn't happen. And that's on you.
I have always visited this restaurant with my friends and had never experienced anything like this before. Today it was only the two of us we decided to sit in the covered terrace, and we were seated next to the bar, under the television. were deeply disappointed by the service. The server, an apparently American young man, had a rude attitude from the very beginning. Despite the fact that we addressed him in a polite and friendly manner, he responded aggressively when asking about our drinks and, in a very inappropriate gesture, abruptly took the menu out of our hands, leaving us genuinely surprised. When he brought the drinks, he nearly slammed them onto the table, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. The only positive aspect of the visit was the food: we ordered two Gaelic burgers, which were very good and arrived quickly. However, while we were eating calmly and considering that the restaurant was nearly empty the server repeatedly pressured us to pay. He left the check on the table and kept passing by, hitting the table with his hand in a way that felt intimidating and completely unnecessary. Due to this poor service, we clearly wrote a $5.00 tip on the receipt. To our surprise, when reviewing my debit card statement, I noticed that a 20% gratuity was charged without authorization. Charging a 20% tip without consent is not acceptable in any restaurant. I expect this transaction to be corrected accordingly and hope the restaurant will seriously review the conduct of its staff, as this type of behavior severely affects the customer experience.
I came in with my daughter's and friends. I ordered the Reuben. They meat was sooo dry and it barely had any sauerkraut or thousand islsb dressing on it. My daughter's friend got a burger medium and it came bleeding. The French onion soup was ok . Wasn't a fan of the bread inside. Def would not eat here again.
