Opinions de Cafe Lyria New York
Stumbled in here on a Saturday morning to grab a quick coffee and found it so lively, but with a very quick moving line. Classic Lyria latte was absolutely excellent, as were their in house olive oil cookies!! We also had the cocoa with espresso added and thought it was incredible.
my favorite place ever✨ i’ve met amazing people here, who’s become my friends now🤍 i love everything about this place, people who create lyria, people who works here, coffee ☕️ mmmm🖤🖤🖤 this place for me sometimes just for me time, sometimes for work meetings, sometimes for hanging with friends… so just love being here
Best coffee in the city - so smooth. Will dream of their honey latte til I return. Don’t go anywhere EDIT - was back in the city this past weekend. Still the best coffee I’ve had. Atmosphere was great every morning me and my partner went. It’s clear the owner greets regulars, which is a great sign! Now, as soon as the LSC t shirts are stocked I’m straight back on a flight!
Café Lyria is definitely a place you want to linger after you get your tea, coffee or croissant. The coffee ☕️ is magnificent especially the Freddo. No really its the best ever! For winter they just added a vestibule which really keeps the warmth inside. Thank you to the owner for getting that in place as it has really made a difference. There are always great gatherings of people here to meet and have conversions with and then too if you just want to chill and search the internet or work. This is indeed a hot spot for the locals and more! It has a very rustic yet modern contemporary feel and you'd never know it's really a lobby to an apartment. It has a very neighborhood/local feel. Seating is always in demand but hang a round folks are always coming and going and you'll definitely get one. It's worth the wait. The bathroom too is always clean and accessible. There are plenty of games and books as well a the local papers to read incase your phone cuts out. Indeed this is a sweet spot in the city! I even did an illustration of their centerpiece which is always showcasing an array of foliage.
Went there with low expectations cause I am aware it’s difficult to find good freddo espresso in North America. However, these guys made one of the best freddo espressos I have ever had. I am definitely coming back when I am in town.
Jackie is truly an angel! It was my first time here, amazing coffee, amazing vibes, nice bathroom and wifi! Everything you could possibly want in a coffee shop. Give Jackie a raise! She made my experience exceptional.
This place represents perfectly the Greek vibe from Greece. Is a very well made aesthetically place, coffee is good and you can enjoy your coffee inside or outside (outdoors is beautiful as well). 100% worthy for 100% Greek standards. It’s a place for coffee and beverages (it seems like has fresh and good matcha as well).
I first visited this spot two years ago, and since then, I’ve tried to come by on weekends whenever I was in the mood, but it was always too crowded to get a seat. This time, I finally got a chance to visit on a weekday morning. Even then, most of the tables were full, but I didn’t have to wait. I used to order an iced americano, but this time I went for the matcha instead. The service was just as friendly as ever, and I was once again impressed by the vintage and unique decor. The matcha (made with water) had a strong flavor and was really satisfying.
Just WOW. I wasn't expecting such a spacious and nice environment from a tucked away cafe. The owners were extremely friendly. They did an amazing job for their decoration and used the space surprisingly well for fitting enough seating despite relatively small space (which somehow feels relatively large). Pastries were great (especially the owners' grandma's secret recipe cookie). The coffee was delicious. Definitely worth a visit (or two, or three) and one of the easiest 5 star reviews I've given. Entrance is a bit difficult to spot but if you look hard enough, you'll see it :) .
Heard so much about Café Lyria but was a bit let down. Perhaps I caught an off day but their iced oat milk latte left a really sour aftertaste. However, their service was five star — baristas even offered to remake (which was sadly equally sour) my drink! Very generous team attitude!
i had a cortado with almond milk, it was good but the coffee is on the acidic side, i kind of prefer a more balanced taste for espresso based drinks. the space is nicely decorated but not very welcoming, i wouldn’t want to stay inside.
small coffee shop folded into the lobby of a NoHo building on a quiet stretch of Crosby Street. if it wasn't for tables and seats often scattered in front of Cafe Lyria, you'd likely walk by this spot and not notice it. the coffee shop offers a variety of coffee & tea centric drinks as well as a small menu of items. the interior is a chill eclectic vibe made of a variety of seating options from a large couch, tables and chairs. the calming decor is a result of plants, warm subtle tones, and the space itself feeling cozy but not cramped. there's stacks of books and games placed throughout the coffee shop and a small tv playing a variety of anime. stopped by a few times and each time ordered an Americano coffee. the coffee was flavorful without being overly bitter and had that smooth hot caffeine kick that only good coffee delivers. never managed to take a seat at Cafe Lyria mostly because i had places to be. will say it is quite busy during the day as prime seats are mostly taken up by people who are laptop-ing and working (pretending to remote work!). the crowd, here, is a mix of students, remote workers, and mid social media scenesters. while not the greatest mix of NYers...the vibe remains chill. the ladies behind the counter are friendly and laidback and seem to enjoy the life of dealing caffeine to the chronically tired people slightly north of Houston Street. worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood, but not sure i would head here if it weren't convenient to things I need to get done in NoHo.
It may hard to find the spot but the moment you enter the place. You'd love it. Cute decoration and friendly barista. I like how they layout the space as if we were sitting in friend's apt or even our home. We ordered almond crisscross and chocolate croissant latte and mocha. The pastry are great!
Their signature beverage “Lyria”, tasted like straight milk. Also, what’s with the tiny cups? The music felt out of place for a cafe, and the whole place was clogged with people lingering after they’d finished, leaving nowhere to sit or move. Overall, it’s fine, but there is no real reason to buy into the hype. It’s NYC , you can find better.
Cute decor and nice vibes at @cafelyria . There are very few seats so we were pretty lucky to have found a cozy spot. I think the coffee itself was alright. The signature coffee is unique but I couldn’t taste much of the flavor and would probably rather have a normal cup of cappuccino. Another downside was that the trash can was hard to find, and people basically just left trash everywhere, which was kind of annoying.
Last 3 times, different days, different weeks, different hours, I tried to get a coffee and sit at this place left had to leave because it’s always packed. It’s sad cause they’ve already lost $15 worth of orders and prob won’t keep trying. Get a longer table, or more tables, or organize the space better. Or not. All in all they have good coffee here and baristas are nice.
Nice vibe, and that's it. Horrible coffee! I am not a coffee expert, but this is the worst coffee I’ve ever had in my life. The espresso was disgusting; I threw it away. Apart from the atmosphere of the place and the cashier, everything else is wrong here. While I was waiting for the coffee, one of the girls decided to mop the floor and nearly mopped my feet—without an "excuse me." On top of that, the guy who made the coffee looked so sad doing his job that it reflected in the disgusting coffee he prepared. (It was a Cappuccino Freddo, I did not drink the coffee, it was just the milk foam melted) Don’t be fooled by the photo that makes it look good!
