I recommend. Took the family for late Saturday brunch. Needs at least a small Kids menu or a couple of Kids items. Atmosphere was very comfortable French Bistro feel with just the right energy. Server was fantastic and a great help with explanations. The food exceeded expectations. The kitchen staff was open and friendly...see pic of one of the chefs. We will return!

It happened that I was in HARLEM that evening ....meet with a friend. And decided to take me for drinks .....well as the night progress we both got hungry . Decided on a Turkey burger and fries !!!! Of which was tasty ...the upstairs was a different scene ( it was live Jazz ) and very good !!!! The bathrooms were lovely and took u back to the 1920's nicely decorated !!!! Over all my first time Good experience !!! And will do it again for more food & drinks !!!!

We discovered "Chez Lucienne" by luck after visiting Harlem. This is by far the best restaurant we've been to during our trip to New York. Mariame was particularly helpful and we had the best service and food. I would definitely recommend Chez Lucienne!

Talented chef who respects French tradition while bringing his fresh touch to it. Chez Lucienne is an authentic and modest gastro-pub I recommend to all — French people included. PS: Fantastic servers.

Amazing brunch options! The mimosas keep going so drink up! And happy hour Friday nights from 8pm-12am?! Can't beat it!

Nice and cozy place with genuine feeling. Good and reasonably priced food. The service was great and our waitress was so kind and helpful.

The waitstaff was amazing! Went there for an annual book club Christmas dinner. The food was awesome and so were the drinks! Will most definitely return

It was my first time going to New York and I never really knew what I was looking for (like food wise) but when I stepped into the restaurant it was the best and they we're playing Michael Jackson too! Man I loved it .

Dined here for the fourth of fifth time last night and as usually the service was bested only by the food. I had LAPIN A LA MOUTARDE (rabbit stew in a Dijon mustard sauce, carrots pealed onions, mushrooms and served with pasta) my friend had TRUITE ARC EN CIEL (fresh trout with lemon sauce and served with sautéed kale) both were fabulous. Normally I have no room for dessert, but we split a CHEESE CAKE (Traditional New York cheese Cake) and all I can say is cheesecake factory look out! Rich creamy and not too sweet. Will definitely be back (again and again). Red Rooster gets the fan fair, but for my money Chez Lucienne is the place to be. I should also mention a very nice wine selection and full bar.

Great, quaint restaurant with great food a lovely Parisienne essence not forced. Excellent cocktails, wine & music & staff. As an added extra there is a Jazz Club upstsirs.

My mother, brother and I went to Harlem yesterday to see my sister's new place,we ate at Chez Lucienne for brunch. We had a wonderful time. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was Maya, who was absolutely charming and very attentive. We got our drink orders in good time. We ordered fried calamari it was excellent. My brother had the escargo (snails). He loved them. Our main courses were hot and delicious. I had the Ceasar salad with grilled chicken it was perfect, my brother had the coq au vin he loved it, Mom had the crepe with salmon and spinach and sister had crepe with cheese and mushrooms, they all loved their dishes with sauces. We will eat here again when we take another trip in to the city. Mom and brother live on Long Island and I live in Queens.

This French restaurant in Harlem has recently been remodeled. It's more of scene now, and the cocktails are great. The good news is that the food is still good solid French with a few dishes with an African influence.

My daughter had the muscles provencal and said she'd give it a million stars. Friendly, warm staff were attentive, food came in good time and was piping hot. Great music - loud enough to create ambiance and not too loud that we couldn't talk. The food was delicious. I had the salmon on champaosaice, the fish was perfect but the rice was nothing to write home about. If you're in Harlem it's worth popping by.

I feel this place is under rated... Which is a good thing for whoever knows it!! I always found a table, and the food is incredible. Great service and great food. For brunch, I think they have the best eggs Benedict I ever had.

We recently discovered this gem, our friends rave about it, we are now huge fans & wish we discovered it sooner! Perfect cocktails. Reasonable prices, esp given the superb quality of the food. Lovely ambiance. Yes, it is worth it even if you are coming from downtown 😀

Nice looking place, didn't have a chance to try the food, drinks were pretty good. The chicken wings looked delicious, Chrissy and Jim Jones were there celebrating her birthday.

Tereek my server was amazing all the stars are for him. The service Tereek gave was what made the experience worth my while. Thank you Tereek! The escargot i ordered was good but very small portioned, Would've given 5 stars if it weren't for the lack of the mussels I wanted and snails i ordered.

Delicious lamb saugages, the menu needs more descriptions of the dishs you're ordering, my couscous, and Mediterranean salad wasn't mentioned and I wasn't sure if I want to buy just lamb saugages.

Cozy but lively, bright, casual atmosphere... classic, authentic bistro.fare;consistently tasty, predictable menu, with the usual suspects, ...nice brunch, friendly service. All-around pleasant bistro exp.

We order delivery form Chez Lucienne sometimes. Food is very flavorful in the old kind of way, every time I eat there I feel like this is something that a (really talented) grandma would serve me! Fish special on Thursday is an amazing value at $12.95. Eating in- the cozy French bistro atmosphere is great for when you want comfort mixed with some scene and generally francophile vibe.Service is good, not excellent. Music on the patio can get strangely louder than inside.

Food is all great and the prices are moderate...it's usually a little less crowded/quiet which is nice. Not to be too picky, but I think it's frustrating that the olives in the salads contain pits - otherwise a great spot to catch a bite and have a conversation. Full drink/bar menu, decent tap selection. Burgers, salads, mussels and more for lunch.

This restaurant has a intimate and cozy feeling when you go inside. Perfect for a date or quiet dinner with a few friends. Its cool that the waiters have a french accent (I'm assuming they speak french too). The food is also great. I had the rabbit with mustard cream sauce and it was made well.

Great French restaurant in Harlem that is making a name for itself, but sometimes (and unfairly) overshadowed by the Red Rooster next door. This is a wonderful place to take a date. It is a nice atmosphere, not too noisy and a very attentive staff. The food is pretty good. The chicken, which I had, was tender, though a bit salty. The restaurant isn't too large and it has nice outdoor seating. This is definitely a nice restaurant to have a low-key relaxing meal.

Went on a Thursday. Seated right away. There was a slight discrepancy with a special they offer on eventbrite for $5 drinks and beer all night but once our server talked to the manager it worked out fine. Food came out fairly quickly, the garlic fries were good. The Lobster ravioli was very tasty but was missing texture, everything was mushy but the sauce was excellent. The mashed potatoes were not good. Lacking butter, seasoning and was not warm enough. Other than that everything was enjoyable. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely come back

First time having dinner with my bestfriend and I'm satisfied with my experience. The host was also our waiter and he was very attentive and if we didn't understand what was on the menu he either demonstrated or explained it very well. I would definitely recommend this place, and I'm a selective person so that counts for something haha. The only con was the appetizer we chose, the couscous wasn't that great with the sausage lamb, it wasn't flavorful.

the dinner service is head and shoulders above the lunch service but the food ans atmosphere were topnotch both last night and today. and actually I have to hand it to the lunch guy who was working alone and making a real effort to make everyone feel catered to. escargot was delicious and the skirt steak was so flavorful.

This is a dependable & reasonably priced place. Good not great food. Good happy hour for beer - avoid house wines. Great beer & burger special.

M
Matthew Schaner

They were out of almost every beer on the menu, except for two per her precariously on top of the doorway into the kitchen. Wine options were limited, and they are out of several menu options. Food was ok, but other places in the area are better for the same price.

Mixed feelings:) first visit was amazing, which made me write great review on Yelp. Second visit was total opposite, with terrible service and 15 minutes waiting for a water after being seated before even we got our menus. Third visit will probably help me to make my mind.

I went to Chez Lucienne for brunch on New Years Eve. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The menu was small so I ordered the Seafood Linguini and my friend ordered the Turkey Burger. Both meals were average in taste. The Seafood pasta was good but for the price I expected much better. The music and ambiance was nice but I would have liked a taster food experience.

I enjoyed my meal! Steak (medium) with a green salad . The service seemed to be selective to "the regulars" waited for awhile for steak sauce, because "he "wasn't my server. Smh.. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Nothing like a good steak to your liking 😉

I really like this place, the food is good. But the wait staff needs training. I've seen some nice changes over the years in the layout and decor. But the revolving staff is unprofessional. Most of the time they are nice, they just don't know how to wait tables very well. Example: There's only three tables with people, I see our food get put up in the window, hear the bell ring but I have to get the waitresses attention to let her know our food is ready. Maybe she was doing something more important, but it looked like it she was just not aware. Other things too, but that area of Harlem is changing fast. I would like to see Chez Lucienne get the attendance it's food deserves. Hope they get better.

I tried the duck which was served almost raw. Had to send back to the kitchen. My 2 friends both had the skirt steak and were very pleased. I was very disappointed in my dish and told them so....but they made no gesture to appease me. Very noisy bar crowd as well. Friendly people but is that enough to make me come back? Probably not. Their idea of good service is pouring the wine for you...which is very annoying. Does not merit the price.

This place didn't impress me at all. Very expensive and misleading the way they charge the tip.

This use to be a great restaurant but has since changed hands. Unfortunately the service and the food is awful. My last visit to restaurant this was 2days ago, I left the restaurant before even sitting down. There was an employee talking so loud about how the food there wasn’t good and talking about her tips just a hot mess. To bad this use to be a great French restaurant in Harlem...........RIP the original Chez lucienne

L
Laurel S.

The food was ok, new owner. They added a 20 dollar tip on a 75 dollar check, which I have never experienced before. I have eaten here many times before and never had them automatically add a tip. For that alone I would not eat here again.

Another One Bites The Dust. This establishment was once owned by the same as Cafe Du Soliel on Broadway. How things have changed: The inconsistencies of service is astounding. The happy hour wine is appalling. The lack of preparation for customers after they order became a topic of conversation. When service and quality are compromised, the bill and the 20% tip don't change. Game over.

E
Edgar Legaspi Valencia

Really like the staff, but the cocktails were terrible, cheese plate disappointing, and mussels seemingly cooked by someone who does not know what they’re doing. To the owners of Lucienne, you have a wonderful opportunity to do something good, please find a chef that knows what he’s doing.

M

Good vibe good music good bar, terrible food unless you want a burger. The Kale salad is cloyingly sweet ($14) and the French onion soup must have been microwaved. No flavor and cold in one part of the bowl and super hot in another.

t
timothy rodgers

The French onion soup was simmered to long and has a burnt flavor in the broth the bread needs to be a harder type, the one they used just fell apart and was not pleasant to eat. The Bloody Mary it nice however I would recommend additional garnishments. Next was an omelet and just how it looked was scary. Looked like a pile of scrambled eggs with some stuff tossed on it. Home fries were cold and salad had little to no dressing on it. Ambiance is pleasant and calm would bring friends here for brunch if food was better. I think there attraction is the endless mamosas or sangria for $25 but that to me doesn’t make up for the poor quality in the food. The price would be fair if the food was even 15% better then it is now. Few simple changes could really make a huge change!! And then the bill 54 for one person and 63 after tip. I won’t be back.

I'VE BEEN GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT/"SPORTS BAR" SINCE ITS INCARNATION. THERE HAS BEEN SOME NOTICEABLE CHANGES POST RENOVATION AND NEW MANAGER/OWNERS. THE MENU HAS BEEN UPDATED BUT SINCE I PREFER "GOURMET VEGETARIAN" IFOUND ONLY TWO FOOD ITEMS ON THE MENU THAT I ENTHUSIASTICALLY ENJOYED. THE RENOVATION OFTHE BAR SEATING AREA(circular design)IS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE OF THE PHYSICAL CHANGES. THE MIXED DRINKS WERE PREPARED EXCELLENTLY BUT OVER A PERIOD OF A FEW YEARS THEY HAVE BECOME NOTICEABLY MORE EXPENSIVE. EDDIE G. HARLEM//U.S.A

They sat us under a projector screen and refused to turn it; off calling the place a sports bar. Then they gave my wife a watered down drink when she ordered a vodka straight! We left after the appetizer course and went to another restaurant. Steer clear!!!

IF YOU HAVE ADA REQUIREMENTS DO NOT EAT HERE! This was my favorite restaurant in the area until they refused service to my 11 year old wheelchair bond brother even after making a reservation a month in advance requesting wheelchair access to the table. This request was noted in my reservation for a party of 15 celebrating Mother’s Day and my graduation but the poorly trained staff was not able to accommodate my brother. This is a violation of ADA policy and I highly recommend that staff at this location receive proper training! An official report has been sent to ADA by myself and other guests that were in attendance. My party and I ended up leaving due to this negligence. A day that was supposed to be joyous was soiled by poor management which resulted in my father having to take my wheelchair bond brother and our younger siblings back to NJ. My friends, family, and colleagues will never eat at this establishment again.

Very hangry about this place. I order first course and main course, everything come in the same time! Order glass of Provence rosé, they poor me a very bad sweet rosé! Ask for wifi they didnt care! Team was totally insufficient tonight! Put the clean glass rack on the top of the trash... For a French brasserie the wine list is not poor but very poor, only 3 wine to 12 where French !!! Last point this place is very very noisy, you can almost not hear the music ! First time in my lige that I write a comment but sorry I have to do it!

The food has no flavor and came out cold. The service is slow. The crepes are thick “American” pancakes, not thin the way crepes should be. Its overpriced.

L
Lauren Harper

One meal in our party came out cold and we sent the dish back. The meal came back in a much smaller portion and then the servers avoided us for most of the evening. One server argued with us about taking the meal off the bill because two bits had been taken. Another table next to us also complained to the server about receiving cold food. The service here has changed significantly.

M
Monica Carty

I visited the establishment on MLK day with my friends who live in the. Eighborgood. We ordered salads, one with shrimp, two with chicken. We waited an hour for the salads, and they had to be taken because a mistake was made. SERVICE is very slow! Salad wasn’t worth what I paid for it! Very disappointed. My friends who ate here before they closed loved it, but wasn’t happy today!

Celebrating my sisters birthday at this restaurant was the worse idea. We were seated at 8:30 and didn't get our food till 10:30. I'm sure it was the first time the waiter had this job. Not knowledge of the manu. Food was no where near edible. Out of the 8 of us, none of us enjoyed the meal. I'm sorry, but this is not a place I would come back to.

B
Brooke Flores

I don't necessarily have an issue with server, other than the fact that he was just inefficient. But I do have an issue with the owners and management. My boyfriend and I have been here twice and both times, we have received terrible service because there isn't anyone around to give it! The first time, we had a 3 hour longggg dinner on a standard, no-rush Tuesday evening. The second time, our last, we ordered a coffee and the server disappeared to accommodate people around the room and not coming back to check on us once. When we tried to order food, he stopped us at the appetizer and ran to greet people walking in then never came back. We waited to order our food for 45 minutes and by that point, saw that it was just not worth it because even our French Onion Soup hadn't come out yet. The server looked defeated when my boyfriend had to literally follow him around the restaurant to get the check, because I think he was kind of avoiding us given we looked very confused and upset. Management has to figure out their server schedule and train them to be a little bit more efficient when dealing with many tables at once.
