This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I really like to go there for the almuerzo. Recommended.
Great service...great food..like mom used to make....... would recommend this place .....
Great food. It was very delicious.
The best churrasco all natural, delicious food i recommend that place.
Delicious food and beautiful bartenders, nice music also,I love it
Really good authentic flavor
Great secco de gallina. The meal takes me back to home :)
Really good food. Recommend skirt steak.
Great food, service needs to improve
The food of this place is so delicious; I ordered via TogoodTogo the other day. I really want to come back and try a nice meal.
Ecuatorania is the best restaurant in the Hamilton Heights area. Nowhere else comes even close. I eat here frequently (2-3x per week) and I am not even Latino. What you get here is excellent quality food cooked by people who know what they are doing and care. This is grandma style cuisine.
This is the best ecuadorian food you will find in all of NYC hands down. Go there daily for the lunch special 10$ will get you soup, salad, juice and entree. It changes daily. Friday is the best Corvina battered fish with albacore soup to die for. This cook has been at this location for over 10 years now. As for the lunch special and your good! Enjoy!
Place is very slow. No one in a hurry, so, sit tight while your food is being prepare. The fish soup (Sopa de Mariscos) - just excellent. This soup could excuse everything. Slow service, poor decoration, loud latino music. Also, must try home made hot sous. Note: Gratitudes not included in the bill. Weekend menu is bigger. Also expect live music performances at weekends.
First time ordering from this place and I really enjoyed the food. Very satisfied. The delivery was quick and the food was still warm 👍🏻
I went there to try the Encebollado bc they only have the soup Sat & Sun and i was surprised bc it was so delicious 100% like in Ecuador 😆 i really recommend this place the food is pretty tasty. Oh they don't take card only cash!
food was delicious and service is really great. Definitely coming back.
Excellent food, costumer services and really Good place.... Was my first time but definitely I comeback.
The best restaurant, I rather wait 30 minutes for my food because is being made fresh, service good ,sit down relax and enjoy your food why rush your stomach.
Wow this place is amazing food was so so good we got “Carne Asada” service is okay but well worth
I'm going back for dinner next week. I ordered skirt steak and was delicious but it took a while. thanks.
Very pleasant decor, good food, though I would have liked to see more vegetable options, portions are generous. They have Sat and Sun specials. We were there on Sunday for dinner. Besides us, all the other customers were, possibly, Ecuadorian. The juices are all freshly blended- very nice. We had pineapple and papaya juices. Street parking was ok, or the 8th Ave subway is convenient. Very near City College, in Hamilton heights.
We order from this place daily and it never disappoints. The food is authentic and the delivery is super fast. I had never really had Ecuadorian food before but it is now in my top 3. Highly recommend!
It seems to be both a restaurant and then a store at the other side. The chaulafan was excellent and they were very generous with the seafood on the paella dish. The only thing the menu said $28 or so and then the charge for it was $31. Not a huge difference but still. Also the mango and passionfruit drinks tasted amazing, very low sugar. The interior could use some redesigning and upgrades.
So good. We're 2nd generation Ecuadorian so dining here is like eating at the Tia with the best sazón. Sunday is their busiest but the service and food is delicious any day of the week as per my take out habit. I'm happy they are in the neighborhood and are a veritable community staple.
Food is good place is clean
Great place for some amazing equadorian food😁😊
Food was really good
Is ok
Good food
Good food Good portion Great price...u must visit
good service ..take new Bill's when paying they don not take old bills
Excellent chicken, rice, beans and seafood soup.
This is a family business with good Ecuadorian dishes...
Good portion for the price. Check how spicy the dish could be before ordering. Take outs available. Note - This is cash only place. Decent restroom.
Mixed salad is great, grilled beef & chicken-delicious. Ceviche is good too.
I recommend calling the order ahead if you're doing pickup otherwise you'll be waiting 20-30 minutes for your food.
Love this places. Food was great. Service was good. Over all I will go back. Also they have change their food flavors, are way better from what it was 1 year ago. If you looking to try Ecuadorian food for the first time, this is the places.
Ordered from here three times in the past two weeks. I keep going back for their ribs and paella. Everything is so well seasoned. Fast delivery. Big portions too.
Really tasty food. The food deserves a 6-star rating. I am giving this place 4-star only because the food takes a bit long to serve. For people who plan to have a 2-hour meal, this place is the number 1 spot in Harlem.
Food is good portion, flavorful, authentic Ecuadorian food..BUT Poor customer service at take out counter Lady asked me what I wanted before even handing me a menu 🤔 then turned up the music and wouldnt lower it while I yelled my order to her. Finally just said I couldnt hear anything Ordered delivery many times before, first time I came in person Come for the food, do not expect much in the way of customer service
Good food...the only problem they don't accept credit card..
The only plate I have tasted is carne asada which is good. But the service is weird. When I was waiting for my food they said "give it to that mujer (woman)". And some things are pricey. But I hope next time aside from the treatment I can try something else as good as the only dish I have.
The food there is good and it's a clean place. The people there are nice
This location is a one-stop shop for your native Ecuadorian goods and eats. I stopped in to support the local business and grab a quick bite. Service took a bit longer than I expected. The kitchen and menu seem to cater to the longer/ 'sit down and show love' kind of meals. So if you are looking to expand your pallet and be exposed to delicious Ecuadorian food. Here's your spot!
I haven't seen an Ecuadorian restaurant in such a long time so I was very excited to try this place out. Fritada and Mote was perfect. Ceviche was ok. It was my first time and I must admit the food wasn't bad but I have had better. I will give it another try. I saw some other delicious plates I would like to taste. Overall 6/10
Food was delicious, just didn't like the service. Waitress was not engaging nor trying to attend the customer. Not even bother to ask if we want it a refill on our drinks. She was more focused on watching the novela than her job.
Food was decent tasting but cold. Came into the restaurant and wasn't greeted by anyone. First time it was busy, second time it wasn't. Prices are crazy.
Food was very good, however the waitress automatically charged my card for her tip (25% on pre tax amount) without any of my input or consent.
I just had their octopus ceviche it was okay and they do not give you a free order of chips or tostadas like most Mexican restaurants I know it is not a Mexican restaurant I just didn’t expect their cheviche to be so different.
Disappointed. The food was ok. The service was incomplete, but may have been because the server seemed to be alone. The restaurant was not full. The entrance is uncomfortable. You have to walk in through the kitchen in the middle of their hustle and bustle. The music was too loud and too fast for lunchtime. I was also expecting to hear music tipical of Ecuador, but they played music from another country. I will not go back. There is a better place up in the Heights.
I have to give this restaurant 2 stars only because the food is really amazing, but the service and all the employees expect the cooks, are complete idiots, they have no customer service skill at all! And they always mess up the orders they are an absolute mess! And they don’t take credit cards either.
the food is pretty good for the most part, and the service is nice, but on my last visit, was charged $20 but on the menu it clearly said $16 for the carne with rice and beans. a 4 dollar increase without stating so on the menu? doubt i will be going back anytime soon...
I used to love this place...they cook bad now.
The food is not that good, they don't accept credit cards only cash, and they take the tip without asking you. And worst of all is that they take too long.
I ordered a ceviche curtido de pescado , horrible it smelled like rotten fish and it taste so bad.
churrasco was not churrasco and was very chewy ...the pargo fish was a Gold fish very small. definitely not a 5 star restaurant.
Expensive and the food is not good, all a disappointment. They also include taxes and tips and only accept cash.
They take the tip with out asking no way thanks for letting everybody know I won't bather going there. Go to Queens there are better restaurants there is the best
This restaurant and manager in duty 12/12/2020 @7.50pm does not follow health and allergies instructions of NYS please be aware and carefully.
I do not recommend that restaurant, the service is lousy, they have to be polite with customers 😡😡😡
This place is not good! I didn't like at all. Very disappointed. Can I give 0 star?
The attention was Not very good the encebollado wasn’t that bad tho
Worst 85$ spent on food no taste and poor quality
blatant robbery On several occasions the same action is repeated, the bill increases she claimed that Friday has a different price for the same meal i've purchased before ,and then she told me that after 6pm it was more expensive. It is time to report to the authorities ,and stop this blatant abuse, when you pay with a card it also increases the price.. blatant robbery On several occasions.. the same thing is repeated. I Will report to the department of consumer affairs as well
Too slow, too hot in there, bad mean customers service, too pricey and they charge you for the sauce can you believe that 25 cents for the hot sauce SMH this people is so miserable for money.
This place charges too much in “service charge” and also makes the food bad, bad customer service and they are non-hygienic. Very bad
This food is trash!!! One night My family went to eat, they ate chicken soup. But the soup is so watery, we had to order something different, PLUS somebody's else soup had the same problem. So don't come here, also they don't pay attention to what you order. Lastly, the bathroom had like 10 mosquitos, I had to cut my bathroom need. And the price list charges your service every time I go. So don't come if you're far, don't waste your time.
Unfriendly staff!!!!!! This was very disappointing experience for me. I didn’t know this place is cash only and I had my credit card only with me that day. I handed my card to the waitress but the waitress looked at me like I was a sort of freak or something. She told me cash only. I asked them if they accept Apple Pay but they don’t. So anyway I have to call someone to bring me cash. In Oder words, The personal were extremely rude they made me very feel bad, no good experience. While I was waiting for the money to come. I could see the customer service they have is terrible, awful!!. It was a lady waiting to be help 30 minutes I saw her trying to make an order and the person in charge of the phone and orders didn’t pay attention until I mentioned it to him. This place is not friendly at all. The food was not that great and over priced too. My first and last time ever in that place!! 😤😤😤😤
bad experience on 7/26/21......(2 other friends and I, join me for lunch) bathroom door facing the dinning room patrons walk through the kitchen to get to the other dinning area....staff said this is done because the other door is closed. food is mediocre at best was not serve water, all places do as you sit to your table staff never ask how the food was Seco de Pollo (stew chicken), was dry, how you manage to make it dry? did you boil the kitchen in water and then place it on the stew sauce? I have made seco de pollo at home, and its amazing compare to the restaurant version. Guatita (stew beef tripe), tasted water down, and the tripe was overcook. The bill included a tip include(15%).... I told the waitress that the tip is based on the service provided by the staff. Waitress responded that "they" (manager, individual who charges, individual writes up the bill), place a 15 % tip on the bill Beware ..... As a result from having lunch from here, one of my friends had stomach pain, and was going to the bathroom non stop. Never coming back
I just made an order and it came everything was fine until I was eating my food and found a piece of the fuzzy side of a sponge in my bean sauce. Never again in my life would I order from here. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because I had read negative reviews but clearly I thought wrong. Do yourself the favor and save your money.
I used to love ordering from here. The food isn’t the same and my order was messed up. When calling the restaurant regarding my missed order they expected me to wait until the next time I ordered for them without even apologizing. This is very friustrating, unacceptable and unprofessional!!!! Not happy with your service!!!!
I ordered takeout. The staff told me that could only order off of the menu on the board. The board advertised that the food was $16. I ordered a soup and when they prepare it I’m surprised to find that it is a small soup with nothing else. It was supposed to be the “lunch special”. And I get charged $10. The staff didn’t explain the board nor anything. The soup was super bland. Literally no flavor.
Really bad. The side salad that goes over thethe mote had no flavor, lemon probably bottled. The potatoes patty had no taste. They lack seasoning. The pork was ok. The Quaker was no way near the Ecuadorean recipe. Paid alot for a disappointing meal.Place not well lit at checkout. The kitchen had no good lighting.
They offer leftover food via Too Good to Go app. For $6, you’re supposed to get $18 worth of food. I got soup, a LOT of rice, a drizzle of beans and a tiny cut of grilled chicken. Look at the pictures- do they look $18 to you?? What a joke. These people are stingy, and will cheap out on you. AVOID!
