Opinions de Honeybrains New York
Very healthy and delicious tasting lunch. Nice vibe inside to eat in with large windows to watch the street. Wasn't feeling sweetgreen today so this was a solid alternative with a nicer atmosphere.
I love honeybrains in general because the food is so healthy and good, but the one in Lafayette I specially love. I always go on Tuesdays night after my yoga class, I know Paola is going to be there and she treats me amazing. Is such a good place to have a healthy, homey, reasonable priced dinner and coffee. Ask for Paola she makes the best coffee ever
I got the Hawaiian bowl with Atlantic salmon and it was just what I wanted! Quick & pleasant service with fresh ingredients :) also laid back atmosphere! Perfect post work out spot!
Such a vibey spot. Great food, even better drinks! The staff are all very knowledgeable about my many allergies and helped me picked the perfect items! 10/10 would recommend and I would definitely come back.
Stepping into Honeybrains feels like entering a sunlit garden of flavour—every dish is an invitation to savour healthful, artfully composed ingredients. Their salads, in particular, are nothing short of poetic: The Farm salad is a kaleidoscope of textures and tastes: nutty tri‑color quinoa, tender za’atar‑spiced chickpeas, creamy avocado, crisp fennel, cucumber, sweet peppers and mixed greens, studded with pickled radish, grapes, toasted almonds and raisins. It’s a masterclass in balance—earthy, bright, crunchy and juicy all at once—and entirely vegan and gluten‑free
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! My wife and I had lunch here, each ordering a bowl, and both were absolutely delicious. I really appreciate the variety of healthy options they offer. In the end, we also decided to get some drinks, and my matcha tea (powdered) was fantastic!
Super cute cafe with inventive yet, comforting drinks. The staff was very kind, patient with my questions, and thorough in their responses. I ordered the nut & honey latte and it was delicious; perfectly sweetened, not overpowering. The spot is cozy, clean, and the noise level is modest. Good ambient music but not too distracting if you’re looking to do some work. Strongly recommend!
I thought nothing would ever contend for a place in my heart like the Sweetgreen harvest bowl. People had said before that Honeybrains was a Sweetgreen competitor, and I balked at the notion that anything would even come close. It wasn't until a girl that was exactly my type said she preferred it to Sweetgreen where I decided to give it a real chance. Women truly do run the world. I broke down and tried a chicken + rice bowl subbing Kale for Spinach and Chickpeas for sweet potatoes, obviously. It was fantastic but I still preferred Sweetgreen, or so I thought until yesterday. 5pm on a beautiful Monday I found myself sandwiched between Lafayette and Bowery on Great Jones St, which is quite literally equidistant from Sweetgreen and Honeybrains. 2 people in my internal dialogue started running rampant: "Well Sweetgreen is a bit more of a salad so I think I'm" -- "Yeah but Honeybrains has way more protein and we just had a great workou" -- "True but the sweetgreen dressing is bette" -- "I mean I feel you but those sweet potatoes at honeybrains are objectively fresher and" -- "I'll give you that but we get that piece of bread at Sweetgreen..." This went on for a few minutes with me taking a few steps towards Sweetgreen, then pivoting back towards Honeybrains. I really had to say okay I'm insane I'm just going to go to Honeybrains because I've been to Sweetgreen more. But yeah, keep an eye on this absolute dogfight for the superior healthy fast-casual meal.
First time today! Saw all the variety of honey inside and from outside the bright happy yellow interiors, this was perfect spot on a rainy grey Friday afternoon. Got myself a comforting London Fog and 3 small bottles of immune shot and felt equipped to embrace the remainder of the gloomy day and winter season. Great space to catch up on work or wind down with a friend and the staff were very helpful.
Enjoyed this little place for a quick bite for breakfast. I ordered the Avocado Crunch toast with an egg and thought it was perfect. The staff helped answer my questions. I liked the complimentary lemon infused water pitcher that was available. The overall space was clean. No complaints!
We wandered in without expectations. We got the avocado toast (added an 8min egg), a bottle of some rosemary carrot juice, and cauliflower steak. It was a clean environment. The salad was pre-made and the staff heated the cauliflower. Some of the salads were mislabeled in the refrigerator. Both meals were very tasty with a nice combination of flavors. The coffee, which we did not try looked good as well. They forgot our receipt and salad dressing. The bathroom was clean.
I agree with the most recent post, I came here simply to say how addicted I was to this clean menu, and my girl PAOLA. She is the best people on the tea, shes shown me love, encouraged me to try new things just wonderful all around. I loved my "Sushi Bowl" or my Bowl with beans and corn (cant remember the name) . However, the new menu I'll probably never try and it came so left field it almost feels disrespectful to a loyalist :/
My friend raves about this place so I decided to visit. The fast casual is very spacious, bright and has ample seating. It had two places for ordering and picking up orders. I ordered my food a head but I still had to wait a few minutes to get my order. The staff was very friendly and sweet. This one customer was dominated the space without allowing other people to get their order. The server saw me waiting and smiled and said I hope I have a great day. I ordered the chicken and rice. It had good amount of protein and rice but, I thought it had a bit too much spinach. The honey pesto was interesting and I wish I had thought to ask for two sauces because it was tasty. The bowl was big enough for two small meals. I wouldn't recommend saving for later as it didn't re-heat very well. I think it is a good option for people who are looking for a healthy lunch.
I really don't understand the 5-star reviews for this place, especially since this is in Manhattan. Maybe the reviewers haven't experienced NYC properly or are new transplants. This is by far one of the most disappointing places I've been to in this city. The one redeeming quality and the reason I gave two stars is that the drink we ordered was good, so maybe if you only stop by for drinks you'll be alright. But I came here for food. It's a really nice space and looks pretty, but the food looks like something you'd get at a cheap cafeteria or worse - and it's not cheap. I spent $16 on a bowl that, even by Manhattan price standards, should have been no more than $8. There is no effort or thought put into presentation or execution. Nothing we ordered looked appetizing. My friend's order was literally forgotten and she had to remind them (to essentially just fry two eggs). The chicken was overcooked to dryness. The utensils come wrapped in a napkin that is fastened with a full sticker - when you unwrap it, the sticker rips the napkin apart. I don't know how no one caught this obvious logistical blunder. They also have this white sauce that smells uncannily like Elmer's glue. I'm honestly shocked at how this place is still operating and at the positive feedback they get on Google. I think conceptually they have a good idea, and they can easily do so much better with a little thought and effort. I'm literally nobody and I know I could have executed this better.
Got this tonight hoping for a fresh meal but it was far from it. The chicken looked inedible, the vegetables and fruit on the salad were mushy. Didn’t even feel safe to eat it, honestly. I ended up throwing it away after one taste. It feels like this salad had been sitting around for days. And the worst part is, it was $20. Will never go back.
I’ve never posted a negative review before, but this needs to be said. They got rid of their entire food menu and replaced it with a much worse food menu with no warning. I used to love the Hawaiian bowl- I even recommended it to many people and would go out of my way to get this for lunch. It was fresh, creative, and healthy. Yum. There is nothing similar to that anymore. The new option that I tried (a “blackened” salmon on “signature” bread) was actually just not blacked salmon on dry, thin bread with fake grill marks. No thank you. I hope that they will return their menu as it was, but for now, I will not be getting my lunch here anymore.
The customer service at the entrance was really disappointing. The three girls working there looked like they had no desire to be there at all… no smile, no warm welcome, nothing. Their attitude gave off such a negative vibe that it completely set the tone for the visit. The food itself was just okay, nothing special. But this rating is specifically because of the poor customer service. Management should definitely address this because it makes a huge difference in the overall experience.
Raw chicken in my sunrise salad from Honeybrains in Noho I called to let them know, and expressed my concern that others may have also received raw chicken. I was disappointed that they did not seem concerned and said they received the chicken precooked from a different location. that does not reassure me, if you serve the food- you should be checking it before you give it to the customer, regardless of who cooked it! Previously was my favorite salad in NYC :( now I don’t trust it.
