Opinions de Jungle Bird New York
Food was great, drinks were better, Gus the server was best. If he gives you a recommendation for your order, take it.
I came alone for a quick drink on the bar, the bartender was energized, attentive and professional. Great atmosphere and design. Would definitely come again.
Jungle Bird serves craft cocktails in a much more casual atmosphere than some is the city’s more cloistered speakeasies — and that’s a great thing. The cocktails on the menu may have curious and adventurous ingredients and guffaw-inducing names (“I’m Old Fashioned”, “Cigarettes and Sex”), but each one we tried was strikingly well-balanced and nicely presented. The food is Asian fusion, which would seem an odd fit and a turn-off — except that it was really good. The happy hour chicken and ginger pan-fried dumplings were exceptional, and the Thai-chili deep-fried chickpeas were addictive. Jingle Bird is a fantastic place to meet up after work in whatever you’re wearing. Just make a reservation and don’t plan to loiter. They firmly reminded us to leave once our two-hour reservation allotment ended. But that’s just the price for more democratic access to a truly well-executed bar.
I was recommended to reach out to Jungle Bird for a last minute company holiday party. We were so lucky to be able to grab one of their last available dates of the season. The Canopy Room for events is absolutely gorgeous! Such a warm and elegant space. We had very little time to plan and we were so grateful everything was really turn-key. Thank you to the events manager Marissa for helping us put this together and being so easy to work with. She was a real gem! Shout out the the awesome staff who took care of us that night (Roy, Patricia and Mario!). The drinks were top notch and so many people complimented on the food (we ordered Pork Bao Buns, Edamame and Chicken Dumplings, Jungle Fries, Chicken Satay and Veggie Spring Rolls). I hope to be able to host events here in the future and would highly recommend to others!
I went here around 5:30 on a Saturday. The bar had seats open. The cocktails were very delicious. We ordered fries and the shrimp skewers. Delicious. Great small bites. Got busy but never felt rushed. Great for a date night or just fun cocktails.
Amazing food and service!!! A favorite when we’re in the city!
We had our engagement party here at the Canopy Room. The service here is outstanding! Marissa their events director was super helpful, professional and such a pleasure to work with. Our guests truly had an amazing time and were raving about how great both the food and drinks were! Definitely will be coming back and highly recommend Jungle Bird for private parties.
Our company had our Holiday party here and it was great! Love the milk buns, jello shots were soo good! Wonderful vibes and fun and friendly service!
Stopped in to have a cocktail in the afternoon (and to avoid the cold) and this place was wonderful. Great bar and bartender. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We had been trying to go to another bar which had a private event and the doorman there told us to check out Jungle Bird and heck yeah that was the right move. There were a lot of people, but it also wasn't super packed. Just the right amount of crowd for a Wednesday night. Between our group we tried the Baby One More Time, the MMMBop the Devil I know, the Jungle Bird, the I Melt With You, and then probably more but I can't really remember. What I do remember is everything we drank was phenomenal. Inventive spins on things you've had, new things you hadn't even tried before. It was a great stop and a great addition to our evening!
Really nice, modern and up-scale feeling bar. You don’t want to come here and get a Bud Light...they have an awesome selection of local craft beers you’ll want to try instead. They also have a nice list of classic cocktails and very knowledgeable bartenders who can cater to whatever you like. You don’t see it at first glance but there’s an upstairs area called “the canopy room” which can be rented out for private events. It has another bar that’s a little quieter/more room if it’s crowded downstairs. Unfortunately I didn’t try the food but looked great as well!
We stopped in here during out honey moon in PR. The cocktails are soo fun and so tasty! A little sweet, but worth the experience. We had great service out on the patio. We did not eat but the menu and the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Thanks for having us!
Jungle bird has an amazing atmosphere with fabulous staff! Their drinks are so cool and photogenic, even their house drink comes out of a golden peacock! Rachel and Chris are the best bartenders come down and show them some love!! 10/10 would recommend!
Went to Jungle Bird to celebrate my birthday. Could not have picked a better spot! The vibe and decor are great. The service was very attentive - once you finishing up your drink, there was already someone asking if you wanted another one. Our waitress was super nice - was taking photos of us and offered to cut the cake :) We had the two high-top tables and it was perfect to mingle. Drinks are delish and great location if you want to continue your night at one of the nearby clubs.
I just celebrated my 40th birthday at Jungle Bird and couldn't recommend this place more. The service was exceptional -- responsive, helpful, fun, thoughtful and kind employees. Shout out to Sophie and Marissa who were incredibly helpful. The food and drinks are amazing. I'm obsessed with the vegetable spring rolls and edamame dumplings. The Canopy Room doesn't need any extra decor for a party - it's perfect as is, especially with the disco ball. Perfect amount of seating -- never felt empty or crowded. I couldn't recommend Jungle Bird more. It was absolutely perfect for my party.
Super chill spot. The food was amazing and I discovered my new favorite cocktail. The food was on a different level. The staff was on point and the atmosphere was relaxed. Hard to find places like this in NYC. You won’t regret stopping by for a few drinks and good food.
I’ve been to Jungle Bird a few times. This year, I hosted a private event there, and it surpassed all my expectations. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Organizing the event was a breeze, and as always, the food was delicious and the drinks exceptional! I highly recommend this place for dates, corporate events, or celebrations with friends!
Everyone here is so warm and friendly. Atmosphere is 10/10 and the drinks are 🔥.
My friends and I headed there after work on Friday evening. We had made a reservation in advance, so securing a table wasn't a problem. By 6 PM, the place was fairly crowded, though there were still a few open spots at the bar. They also offer outdoor seating. We ordered cocktails, Jell-O shots, and a few appetizers. Our waiter was fantastic—attentive without being intrusive. The cocktails were tasty, the French fries were excellent, but the shots were the real highlight. Prices are a bit on the higher side, with cocktails costing around $20 and appetizers ranging from $20 to $25.
Inventive cocktails, surprisingly well executed food for a more bar centric spot, and fun tropical decor. Certainly not quiet, but despite often being crowded, table service has always been excellent and efficient. Extra kudos to the nice bathrooms.
Owner was amazing & so was the staff. Cheers from NJ 🥂
Last night me and a group of 8 people came in. Honestly one of my favorite experiences in MNYC for cocktails and snacks. Randi was so profesional and kind. And make sure Gus is your service because he took very good care of us. Can't wait to come back!
I can not say enough about this fun place. Our experience and the food were fantastic.
Stumbled here after our first option had an 1.5 hour wait time, but were surprised to have a 10minute wait time for a table of 5 at 9:30 :) Quickly fell in love with the ambiance of Jungle Bird, and had no idea there was a lounge area (will definitely return to try). From the outside reminded me of a Miami vibe, and even more so with their tropical and jazzy decor. The drinks were amazing, I tried an espresso martini and it did not disappoint, and Like a Prayer was tasty. Service was prompt, and attentive. Will definitely return :) (No rating on the food as I didn't try any of their food options)
This bar is amazing - great cocktails, great service, AND I left my golf clubs there after hitting chelsea piers and they were super helpful and prompt in getting them back to me. Highly recommend.
Super chill staff with great service and cocktails.
The vibes are amazing, a great place to go dancing and grab a drink. The bartenders are super friendly as well.
Our host/waiter was wonderful and the drinks were incredibly delicious and well balanced. Clean and cute and not pretentious at all! The espresso martini I had was by far one of the best I have drank! Thank you for hosting us and making us feel so special and welcomed.
It was a nice night, Lucas was in charge of making the best cocktails of the moment and attended us all night without stopping. in Chelsea there are few places like this and if you want to have fun here is the place..!
Love Jungle bird! It’s a great spot for happy hour, a night cap, or even a bite to eat because the food is awesome. I love their jungle fries and the crunch chickpeas. The Bahn mi sandwich is a must try if you’re a fan of these sandwiches. The cocktails are delicious too. One of my favorites is the Like a Prayer made with Espero Blanco Tequila, Cappelletti Apertivo, Giffard Passionfruit, Montenegro Amaro, Lime on the rocks. It’s a perfect place to host events as well as they have a private room upstairs.
Stopped in Jungle Bird after meandering about in Chelsea. What a delight!! The food is SO fresh and delicious. I love when you’re able to taste each ingredient. Sublime. The cocktails are perfect. The atmosphere is spot on.The bathrooms are immaculate. The people are friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait to return!
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE Bird! They've got Jack and James. They got Mezcal, Lime 'n Mint- honey, they know your names. They are the people that can mix- whatever you may need. If you want something money, honey they got what you need. JUNGLE, welcome to the JUNGLE Bird. And try the Crunchy Chick P-p-p-p-p-p-p-Peas, PEAS! Down in the Jungle Bird, welcome to the Jungle Bird. It's gonna bring you to new. It's gonna bring you ROUND, huh!
Great spot for drinks and small bites. The staff here was incredibly friendly and very attentive! There is a great selection of craft beers and nicely made cocktails. I didn’t get a chance to eat, but I heard great things about the food that my friends tried. One of the bartenders even brought us a round of complimentary drinks. It was a treat. I highly recommend Jungle Bird to anyone who looking for a good, lively, time!
I recently had the pleasure of hosting my wedding after party at Jungle Bird that exceeded all expectations! First and foremost, the space itself was absolutely stunning. From the moment we entered, we were captivated by the bar's elegant and stylish decor. But what truly made this venue stand out was the incredible staff. From the moment we made the initial inquiry to the final moments of our event, the team demonstrated utmost professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care. They went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our party was flawlessly executed. Overall, I cannot recommend Jungle Bird enough whether it's for hosting a private event or just stopping by for a cocktail. A HUGE shoutout to Marissa Cheshier for being our amazing point person throughout the whole process --- you're the best!
Jungle Bird is a Chelsea go-to for a fun night out! The vibe is always lively, with amazing music that sets the tone as soon as you walk in. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. Whether you’re celebrating something or just in the mood to party on a random weekday, this place delivers every time. Great cocktails, energetic crowd, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night. Highly recommend!
We celebrated my husband‘s 32nd birthday here and it was super fun! The music switched from being loud back to less loud, allowing for moments to groove more to the music and then again back to more conversation. The staff was very attentive, and the drinks & food delish! Perfect place to set the vibe for going out after😊
Good vibes here with plenty of disco music and excellent wine. There was good variety in the food. The staff were friendly and competent. My only complaint is that someone changed the disco music at ~9pm, to some sort of mish-mash Billboard 100 from the last 20 years. Disco is great, don't mess with a winning formula.
Absolutely loved jungle bird! Great drinks! Recommend the velvet rope, really unique drink with great balance in flavor. Not too sweet but sweet enough on the palate. For something slightly sweeter, go for the kiss from the rose, very refreshing roseand lemon. Excellent. Also loved the habenero one with grapefruit but I forget the name. Slightly spicy. Bar itself had some nice music and gorgeous looks.
One of my most favorite hangout spots. Top notch drinks menu. Great food paired along with the drinks. Fries and dumplings are my go to. I like that their menu is seasonal and keeps changing so there is always something new to look forward to.
My fiancé and I have been here several times, often bringing friends and family, and will continue to come back. We love that their cocktail menu changes seasonally but keeps the fan favorites. The drinks and small bites are always fantastic, and the service has always been great as well. We always go early so can’t speak to the late-night hours, but this is our go-to after work cocktail bar.
Wonderful drinks. Good selection of customized cocktails. The drinks were made to perfection, good balance of mixtures and just the right amount of alcohol. The service is also exceptional, the staff is very friendly even with the busy environment. The atmosphere is pretty lively here, music not too loud so you can definitely have a decent conversation. The cocktail prices are standard, $16-18 range. Definitely be back for that angry bird.
Couldn’t write this quick enough. Nina and team, thank you so, so, so much. A birthday to remember. The hospitality that was delivered from beginning to end was incredible. A long time cornerstone for the Chelsea community, thank you so much for hosting our group today
Absolutely delicious appetizers and large plates! I had the “I wanna be adored” drink and while the rose water gave it a delicate finish - the gin provided a dramatic tangy flavor that made it enjoyable. The bartender also had plenty of flair and seemed to love what he was doing! Our waitress was super nice and answered all our questions. She also passed on our compliments to the chef!! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and would definitely come back. The bathrooms were spotless and decor was very sleek yet inviting. Amazing team at this spot. Thank you for providing such a warm, memorable experience!
Great cocktail bar and great vibe! Cocktails and food were both top notch. Food was perfectly prepared. This is one of the great cocktail bars in NYC.
My husband and I stopped in here for a few rounds and some dumplings. The dumplings were so good, crispy and fresh. It’s January and the tropical cocktails made us feel like we were on a sunny vacation. The waiter was very attentive and gifted us each a free shot. Apparently there’s a party room upstairs that has a disco ball and dancing at night. The only downside was that the bill for 4 cocktails and one order of dumplings was over $100 but…. Hey…. It’s Manhattan
Always great food. Very cool pan-asian menu that doesn't disappoint. Red cabbage rolls are bae. Always cool vibe and a cute date spot. I love this place.
Jungle Bird is a spectacular dimly-lit bar in Chelsea. Me and my friends enjoy coming here. They have a wonderful happy hour and in the summer they have outdoor seating which is great. Yesterday I had the delicious mezcal spicy margarita on the happy hour menu and it came out great. I also want to highlight the La Bailadora which is fruity and delicious. The food menu is not as expansive or daring. The staff are amazing - shoutout to Angie, he’s great!
Loved the overall vibe🤍 super chill with gorgeous decor, and the outdoor seating is perfect for warm nights. My favorite cocktail was the lychee one (forgot the name), but it was so fresh and well-balanced. The food was just okay, but the drinks and atmosphere totally make up for it. Definitely coming back!
My husband and I had a great time at Jungle Bird. It's located up a flight of stairs and has a fun, vacation-bungalow vibe. We went on a Saturday evening and loved the atmosphere—lively without being overly packed. We sat at the bar, enjoyed a few snacks and rum cocktails—everything was great! The entire staff was friendly, and the bartender was attentive and fun to chat with. We visit NYC often and will definitely be back but if you're a local, check this place out!
Went there with my friends after work on Friday night. We did make a reservation ahead so had no issues to get a table there. It was relatively busy around 6PM but there were available spots at the bar. They also have some outdoor dining We ordered cocktails, Jell-O shots and some appetizers. Our waiter was amazing, he did not bother us every minute yet was attentive when we called him. Cocktails were good, French fries very good but best were shots. Prices are a little on the higher end, around $20 for cocktails and $20-25 appetizers.
Nice staff and good tapas-style food. Our bartender was super nice and helpful with the recommendations. Try their crunchy chickpeas!!! I could eat a whole bowl of these. We tried the Glory Box and I Wanna Be Adore cocktails, incredible gin cocktails (if you like sweet gin cocktails go for the second one).
Jungle bird is a whole VIBE! I need their playlist immediately! The mock tails were tasty, but don’t order the pink— taste like the syrup you leave maraschino cherries in. However, our server Anji was a treat! Attentive, friendly, and accommodating! We ordered some tapas: edamame dumplings, French fries, shishito peppers, and hummus with market veggies. Let’s not forget to mention the star of the show, the butternut squash dumplings (pan seared). Chefs kiss! Highly pleased with the vegan friendly options and the ability to maintain an elevated, but high energy atmosphere!
I loved this place. It doesn't have tons of seating but it's comfortable. They have great cocktails. I had the Shrimp Skewers. The Shrimp was cooked to perfection. My friend ordered some dumplings which were very tasty. The decor is nice. The atmosphere is chill. The service is quick. It's not cheap to eat and drink here but it's not too expensive for the neighborhood of Chelsea. I would come back.
Got there at 4:30 and there and there were already a fee people there. The happy hour menu is nice but we decided to just stick to the regular menu, the fries were nice with lemon, parmesan, red peppers and a spicy aioli, the “I wanna be adored” had a wonderful rose flavor, the old fashioned was great and the black velvet was great. The fried chicken was great.
Such a fun place with zero proof drinks and gluten free food options!! This place checked off ALL the boxes and was exactly what we were looking for!! Super fun vibe with beautiful plants, decor, candles, and a great place to catch up with friends! All the staff was extremely friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about the menu. I went with 1 other person and we tried their zero proof cocktails. Two of the three were wonderful. One was a little lack luster (said there was elderflower but we didn’t taste it and it felt like a fancy lemonade). The menu was clearly marked with GF for all the gluten free options! We got the fries even through they weren’t marked GF. They use a shared fryer, so decide for yourself. All in all, such a wonderful experience and I’ll be recommending to everyone!!
Cannot say enough great things about Jungle Bird! We went earlier in the night on NYE and sat at the bar for some cocktails and snacks - our drinks were outstanding and the food was good too. The fried garlic on top of the fries stole the show for me, ha! The service was attentive but not overbearing. Perfect night all around. I can't wait to come back!
Food/Drink 8/10 We walked in and there was space, but this was also back in 2021. I just realized I had this review in my drafts but never posted it. I remember we ordered some Asian inspired snacks along with our drinks, such as the Taiwanese chicken poppers and shrimp skewers, and those were great. The drinks menu was also very tasty. Atmosphere 9/10 Vibey and energetic, a cool atmosphere. Service 7/10 There’s not much service to remember, since it’s a bar and I think everything came quite quickly as we sat near a bar area.
This is a super cute spot to grab some drinks on a night out with friends or a date. I haven’t eaten here, so my review is strictly based on the bar, not the food/dining experience. The vibe and ambiance is super chill. You’ll be transported to the tropics as soon as you walk in. The bartenders were really nice and attentive, as was the guy who greeted us at the door. I had the smoky eyes drink and the baby one more time, both were great (be warned, smoky eyes is not for the faint of heart if you can’t handle spice). I would definitely come back here again if I’m ever in Chelsea.
Cute little spot with delicious cocktails. I especially enjoyed the one that is served with pink peppercorns. The food portions are pretty small - I loved the shrimp skewers but think they were a little overpriced. Also, if you order a draft beer, it will be served in a very small chalice so it’s not much. I would definitely come back - the quality is good, just expect to pay a bit more for less.
Trendy Cocktail bar with a solid combination of good music and well-prepared cocktails that make for a safe meet-up spot. $20 a drink. 4/5 stars as a day bar.
Overall, it's been a while since I've been to some place new. This was a friend's go to place and she wanted me to check out this place with her. Love the decor and music! Bartenders were great! My only complaint and why it's 4 stars, they wouldn't let us sit at a table when the place was half empty. They said every table was reserved which may have been true but half the tables stayed empty our entire time there. Had we had more space to sit comfortably, we may have stayed longer and had an actual dinner meal there instead of just bar snacks.
The artwork and ambiance is to die for with its mixture of tasteful art and nostalgic tracks (speaking as a 30 year old Millennial). It's very spacious inside, but gets crowded at night. My group said the food was excellent although I didn't order any.
Pretty busy place during after work hours and a great vibe to hang out with a few friends. Definitely stop by if you’re looking for a drink or two. The music is a bit loud for having a conversation with your friends and the bartending staff was a bit understaffed. I’d probably stop by again during a less busy time.
We didn’t eat but made it a cocktail stop before dinner. Both drinks, the jungle bird and a banana cocktail I had were on point. Atmosphere was very lively and fun on a Saturday night. Good spot to get a table with friends.
Attended a private event upstairs and the space was so cute!!! The food was delicious and bartenders and waiters were so nice.
I got the aguita de melon, which was melon w mezcal w a tajin rim. Fire. ambiance was cute, perfect for a friend meet up as they have large round table seating. Music is really loud though, so keep that in mind. Fire aux though. Also they close food really early. I think we got there at 10:30 and kitchen was closed, which valid but would have been cute to have a bite or two.
After seeing a show at Joyce we decided for a recap here. Lovely ambience but i don’t waste time with places that make me feel different we actually just paid without drinking our cocktail, the energy with the host doesn’t sit well with me. But the space is as beautiful and New York has too many places for me to waste my energy on one
Came here for drinks on a Wednesday night with some old coworkers. The downstairs was packed so we went upstairs and luckily got seats at a table along the windows. The vibe and decor is the best part. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the two sparkling wines they had by the glass. The rose sparkling (3B) is not that good.
I wanted to like this place so bad because I think the concept is incredible.. but the execution fell way short. I tried 4 of the drinks and 3/4 weren't blended well, with one flavor overpowering the other ingredients. I got the pork dumplings, curry hummus, papaya salad, and rice bites. The pork dumplings were the best food, but they were average and kind of greasy. Papaya salad had way too much ginger and pineapple. The hummus was good but average, which made it over priced. I didn't like the rice bites bc of personal taste preference. Overall I was disappointed and don't recommend if you're looking for a well done food/cocktail experience. If you're looking for a fun drunk night out with a group of friends, then this place is .. still just okay! Kind of on the pricey side, but fully functioning bar. Great atmosphere, the space and accents were gorgeous.
Never again because of of the abrupt ending to an otherwise lovely evening. Our server was fantastic. The drinks were great, I didn’t try the food. However, with no warning, the check was dropped and we were told a reservation arrived and we needed to leave. 2 of the 3 of us had full drinks. We paid so we could bounce as soon as we were done. Someone else came over and told us about the reservation. We said politely we were wrapping up. 2 minutes later ANOTHER person came to tell us a reservation was there. It was 6:29. This all happened in less than 10 minutes. When the 3rd person left they sent a manager/ bouncer. Unreal. I’ve lived or worked in the city for 25 years- and owned a bar. People can wait five minutes for a table. If they gave us a 10 or 15 minute heads up - or better yet told us when we sat down there was a 6:30 reservation - it would have been perfectly fine, but the way they handled this was trash. Never again. Get over yourselves, you’re not that great.
Food was great . Horrible service When I arrived at the restaurant, the hostess told us we had the table until 10 pm. However, she came to us at 9:15 pm and said we had to leave by 9:30 pm, and that my friends' lateness as the reason for not extending the reservation. But we didn’t ask to extend the reservation; we simply wanted to keep the original time, which was 10 pm. We understand that mistakes happen and would have left early anyway if asked nicely, but she said to us, "The first half an hour your friends were late, the empty table, means that we were losing money for the first half an hour." (We actually ordered food for 5 people + drinks, not just 1 or 2 drinks.) Regardless of how much we ordered, that’s never the way to treat a customer. I liked Jungle Bird a lot, and I would have recommended it to more friends and come more often in the future if the hostess had not given me a horrible attitude. Despite that, the bar was nice, the food was great, and the waiter serving our table was friendly. If it weren’t for her attitude, I would have given full stars.
Three of us came in for dinner at 6:15 and at 7:20 we were warned by our waiter that we had only 20 minutes left at our table despite there being 5 other open tables at the restaurant. While the hostess was lovely and the atmosphere was nice, the waitstaff was rude and inattentive....we ordered "starters" and we never approached for a second drink or a meal order...the only other interaction was our warning that time was almost up.
This place is amazing! They have a good food, music and atmosphere, but the waitress who serves the tables is terrible… every time that I asked her for something she rolled her eyes back. I won't be back because of her, I don't recommend this place! The service is terrible!!!! I was enjoying a birthday party in that time, and it could be much better so far!!! I am really disappointed.
