Opinions de Locande Verde New York
Had a great experience here celebrating my anniversary with my partner. Was a wonderful special occasion spot, the service was great, the host and waiter were both very nice and helpful. The drinks were very good, I had a non-alcoholic cocktail (appreciate that they had options!). The milk ricotta, pumpkin ravioli, and tiramisu are AMAZING. My partner got the white veal bolognese and was a little disappointed with the lack of flavor but we will definitely be back in the future!!
Incredible food, friendly service and cocktails were amazing! On our honeymoon, we were really looking forward to this night as I had not been back in NYC since the Pandemic and this is my wife’s first time in the USA. Nona’s raviolis were amazing as always, Duck arrossato was incredible! Perfectly cooked, and beautifully paired with rhubarb! We had the Alpino ans Tazza cocktails, both delicious? Beautifully presented and could appreciate the different ingredients used! Finished off with the Milk Chocolate Almond Tart and the Italian Strawberry Polenta Cake with a glass of Prosecco each toasting to a successful and delicious night! We will be back!
We finally made our way to this essential rustic Italian restaurant in Tribeca. Housed inside the Robert Di Nero owned Greenwich Hotel. Although we waited 45 minutes for our table with a reservation, we still left very happy. The service was excellent, the decor was charming, and the food was incredible. We ordered the following: -SHEEP'S MILK RICOTTA -STEAK TARTARA PIEMONTESE: prime-aged wagyu beef, hazelnuts, black truffle. The truffle really came through and I loved it. Definitely an unique take on the classic tartare. -TONNARELLI CACIO E PEPE: may not be for people that are sensitive to salt. The pasta is simple but very tasty - reminded me of Italy. -MEZZE RIGATONI: lamb bolognese, sheep's milk ricotta, mint. The pasta was al dente and the sauce was mouthwatering. -DRY-AGED NY STRIP STEAK: served with polenta fritta & salsa verde. We were pretty full by the time steak was served but we still took a taste. The steak was cooked to perfection but needed to be paired with the polenta and salsa verde in the same bite to capture a burst of flavor. Oh, we also ordered cocktails just cannot recall the names right now. They were great though. We are really happy that we chose this restaurant for our celebratory dinner.
I was a little taken on the location and decor which usually leaves me to say too fancy for good food. I was wrong! Absolutely delicious. We had the sheep milk ricotta, lamb meatballs, lamb chops, and duck sausage orechetti! All was perfectly cooked. On top we don’t know Italian wines so the sommelier had to help us and he nailed it on the second try. He was real patient and took the time to listen to our horrible wine descriptions. All around perfect place to eat.
The ambiance is modern Italian darker but has the glass and the cozy lighting. The staff was very friendly. One of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had. One of the best wines that was recommended that I’ve ever had. Your paying a lot for the best service and top ingredients brought to you by a chef with passion for what they do. You taste it with every bite. I ordered my go to Italian dish the bolognese and it was perfect. The meat was so tender, the sauce was a perfect balance of flavors. The pasta was cooked perfectly, it was amazing. I love red wines, merlots that are slightly sweet. Our very knowledgeable, kind soft spoken waiter recommended the 2015 Ordardi Gaglioppo Tera Damia and my god it was just as he described. This was just an amazing experience, great place to celebrate and close to the piers of your looking for some fun after!
We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here! The service, ambiance, wine, and food were top notch. They seated us in front of the gorgeous fireplace and brought us celebratory champagne. They were kind enough to bring our recreated wedding cake with a lit candle out. Their wine sommelier was phenomenal and helped pick the best wine for our celebration! Waiter and management were exceptional. A night to remember! We will absolutely return soon. :)
Came here for brunch and had a great time. Inside is really nice and staff was friendly. I got the Uova Modenese and it was fantastic. The hash and eggs were quality and delicious, I would recommend asking they lightly toast the bread, as I had to get a new batch as mine was hard as a rock. The Cinnamon roll is a must get for the price, the cream is fresh, hot, and delicious and was an amazing sweet to have along side my meal. Service was quick, in and out in 30 min during. Overall a great time and a solid recommendation to anyone!
I'd give it 6 stars if I could, I am now obsessed with this place. The service was top tier and was unique in that it did not at ALL feel like I was being rushed out of there (like many other NYC restaurants). It was nice to just enjoy every detail. The tortellini was incredible obviously but the halibut was something so amazing that writing about it doesn't even do it justice - you just have to go try it. I'll go back here 1,000 more times.
The lunch menu doesn’t have a lot of selections, however, the food is really good, prepared perfectly, and with high quality ingredients. The lamb sliders are very tender, tasty, on soft brioche with tomato sauce, and pickles. The grilled salmon on lettuce with pine nuts is surprisingly so good. It looks very simple, but the dressing is light and tasty, salmon is tender, juicy, and perfectly paired with the salad. The ravioli is also good. If I’m not mistaken it’s pork ravioli. The moscato is delicious. It’s kind of like a sparkling wine. The dark chocolate cake is creamy, good quality chocolate, and it’s not very sweet. The portion of the food is perfect. I was full but not stuffed. I highly recommend this place! Located near the Hudson River, between Tribeca and Soho areas, nice neighborhood.
An amazing experience! We were met by Diamond who greeted us at the host stand and kindly and graciously checked us in. My guests and I started at the bar while we waited for our table to be prepared. The bartender Kiran is everything you would want in a professional NYC bartender, he gave great recommendations on the cocktail menu, answered my guest's questions on unfamiliar ingredients, and was an overall genuine person who made our entire dining experience rememberable. Once we were sat our server, Paris, gave great food recommendations and made sure to take my dietary restrictions into account when offering suggestions. She was an overall delight. The dining room manager even went out of his way to stop by my table and introduce himself, it was a nice touch. The food was great, we had a mixture of apps and pastas including the pumpkin ravioli, Rigatoni with lamb, potatoes, and broccolini. The Locanda Verde Tiramisu was one of the best variations of that dish I have ever had, it is very light and creamy and is the perfect end to a meal. We even saw Kiran again who whipped us up a digestif cocktail that really helped with the digestion of the large meal. His specialty cocktail should be added to the menu. Overall Locanda Verde exceeded my already high expectations and I look forward to returning in the future.
we were able to enjoy our brunch here today, first of all a very elegant and relaxed ambience. The hihhlight are the toilets, the toilet paper is like butter unbelievable, everything is very clean you just have to mention that. the staff very cordial and committed. we had delicious food, we would love to come back.
TRIBECA ITALIAN STAPLE DELIVERS CONSISTENTLY - if you’re looking for a gorgeous aesthetic, superbly executed Italian food and attentive staff you can’t go wrong with this award winning location in the Greenwich Hotel, you never know, you might even see Robert DeNiro here given he’s an investor! AMBIENCE - We visited for a midweek lunch, there was def a ‘business vibe’ going on, but the decor is great, intimate in places, with a lively bar and great hand crafted cocktails. Place has been open for over 10 years, yet still feels fresh. FOOD - Chef Andrew Carmellini delivers an ‘urban style’ Italian menu here that is gorgeous. Breads are incredible, Burrata was so fresh and on point, ravioli perfect… you get the point right? Just great Italian food! DRINKS - silly point, but I love a restaurant that puts a beverage in my hand quickly, as well as water, so a big plus for me here! wine list is well thought out, and for those who check pricing (like me!!) it’s actually very reasonable with some excellent choices to be found on their curated list (another bonus point for me, I hate being given a telephone directory of a wine list!) SUMMARY - Locanda Verde has been around for a while and for good reason, would I recommend it to my best friend? 100% .. would I recommend it as a place for a date … 100%, is this the hippest place in New York? 100% NO!! But I quite like that honestly!
The attention to detail from the host to our main server was superb; our Cesar salad was crisp and right in flavors and portion appropiate for two ppl; I wasn’t expecting a big deal with the pasta and seafood but their Frutti di mari is phenomenal ; the lamb sliders were the pefect dish to fill the spot. I highly recommend you to try their signature Tiramisu dessert is something not to be ignored at all and because we like sweets the panacotta orange will send you home HAPPY !!! Thank you Evan and Heidi for making us feel so special tonight.
Always has amazing food and service. We usually don't order dessert, but this time we did. Absolutely the best tiramisu all of us have ever had. Love this restaurant.
This is a really nice and lively spot for elevated Italian in TriBeCa. Even though we were seated outside, the service was good and they delivered on some of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in recent months. All homemade and cooked perfectly, the flavors really came through in layers of depth and sophistication. We had the lamb ragu and duck sausage orecchiette and both were amazing. As others have pointed out, pasta dishes are on the expensive side - around the $30 price point - but I’d add they’re pretty substantial portions. Add in an appetizer - the beef tartare with truffles was also amazing - and you’ve got a really filling meal.
Great atmosphere for either a date night or a small gathering. Interior is nice but not stuffy with medium noise level. Mains looked so good that I forgot to stop and take pictures. Only critique is the desserts. Dark chocolate dessert was great, others were interesting but ultimately not tasty.
If you’re looking for a secret garden this is it! We were greeted by two lovely hosts that gave us the option of outdoor or garden seating & she instantly had me at Garden! I can not express enough how remarkable this gem is! From the feel good cozy, yet earthy tones of this restaurant/hotel, to the light & delectable meals, topped off with outstanding service. You can not go wrong! Seated in the garden this place is perfect for any occasion, whether with friends or family, this backyard space is children friendly and is absolutely my new favorite place!
Wow. This is some of the most unique pasta I’ve had. We got the lamb bolognese, the asparagus tagliatelle, and the beet pansotti. The tagliatelle was almost like a lighter carbonara because it comes with an egg yolk to mix into it and has pieces of asparagus that make it really refreshing. The beet pansotti has a creamy poppy seed sauce that compliments the flavor of the beets really well. We also got the steak tartare and the salmon crudo to start. The tartare was especially good with the truffle flavor and the crunchiness from the hazelnuts.
Food and service both top notch. The bread with ricotta was the best, reminded me of my Italian holiday. Had to stop myself from eating too much bread. Every dish that my table of 5 had during lunch was excellent - pasta, fish, chicken, beef tartare, sandwich. Great cocktails as well. The last time I was here was 5 years ago and their quality has not slipped.
Located on Greenwich street downtown New York City, Locanda Verde offers an unforgettable dining experience that combines impeccable service with a vibrant atmosphere. The service at Locanda Verde is unparalleled, with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to ensure that every aspect of your dining experience exceeds expectations. Whether you're seeking recommendations or simply need another glass of wine, the staff is always on hand to make sure your needs are met with a smile. As for the food, the appetizers set the stage for an extraordinary meal, with standout dishes like the beef tartare, eggplant, and crab crostini stealing the show. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and expertly executed. But the true star of the dining experience at Locanda Verde is the entrees. The Chittara Frutti di Mare is a masterpiece, with tender pasta perfectly complemented by a rich seafood sauce that transports you straight to the Italian coast. And the scallops are cooked to perfection, with a delicate texture and flavor that delights the palate.Overall, Locanda Verde is a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in NYC. With its inviting atmosphere, impeccable service, and standout dishes like the beef tartare and Chittara Frutti di Mare, it's a place you'll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended.
We showed up as a table for four on a Thursday night with no reservation. There was a 2 hour wait but we asked to be in the waitlist if someone didn’t show up for their reservation. We grabbed a drink at the bar and were sat within 30 minutes. The food was pronominal. Get the artichokes and the fettuccini !!
Me and my boyfriend had an anniversary dinner here. It is nice when host welcome you with mentioning it, saying congratulations. We ordered burrata, lamb meatball, pasta(tonnarelli cacio e pepe) and scallops; food was amazing and service was on point. I liked when tables are full and servers get busier, managers were checking on tables and make sure everything was being taking care of. We both had a fantastic time here, want to go back already!
Everything about Locanda Verde makes it one of my favorite places to dine in Manhattan. The food is incredible, no matter what you choose on the menu. The service is always outstanding. Inside of the restaurant is a super cozy vibe, while the outdoor seating provides ample space for those who prefer to dine Al fresco. This is a great place to go for date night or any special occasion.
Atmosphere is rustic and exceptionally well lit creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere. Food is non negotiably full of flavor and well portioned. Service was helpful and no pretentious. Make this a couples night so you can order lots of dishes. Will return with friends from California 🤗
My first time at Locanda was truly one to be remembered! I loved the decor and atmosphere, such perfect lighting and music. The food was absolutely amazing, as were the cocktails and the service even more so. Harold at the bar was such a sweet and attentive host. We will definitely be returning soon!
We really enjoyed our meal here and the service was 10/10 from the moment we were greeted. The food was good and flavorful, and while it’s not the best meal I’ve ever had in NYC, it certainly ranks in my top 5 currently. The desserts were definitely a highlight (we got the tiramisu and lemon tart), and I highly recommend the whipped ricotta. I believe the menu changes seasonally with a few staples, but if you get the chance to try the tortellini verde, you definitely should - you can taste the smokiness without it being overpowering, and it’s a unique flavor. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and food sets this place apart and we’ll be back.
Came here for dinner with friends. My friends are regulars and love Locanda Verde. They’re foodies like me, so I was excited to try this restaurant…Well, now I know why they love it so much. This place nails Italian food; every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection. My favorite was the rigatoni. Additionally, they have an impressive list of wines. Furthermore, the staff are stellar. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely attentive. I can’t wait to come back and try more things on the menu. Keep up the excellence Locanda Verde!!!
Very tasty meal. The ricotta toast was the star of the show by far, incredibly good. It’s salty, creamy and doused in high quality olive oil served with crispy sourdough bread. Another favorite was the grandmas ravioli, super fresh and simple. The vibe of the restaurant was great, really dark and moody. Great meal overall.
A great dining experience from the moment we walked in! We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table and when we sat down our waiter was helpful with the menu and wine list. The food was very good - some highlights were the sheep's milk ricotta, pappardelle, and garlic chicken (note, the order for 1 was more than enough for the both of us in my opinion). We also had the lamb meatballs and grandmother's ravioli which were both tasty, but not must-haves if you ask me. The chocolate torta we had for dessert was amazing! One of the better chocolate cakes I've ever had - definitely worth saving some room at the end of the meal. The vibe and atmosphere was pretty hip and happening for a Monday night, but not uptight in anyway. Definitely would like to come back to explore more of the menu.
We’ve been here before for brunch and liked it. I actually preferred it for dinner. The dining room has a great atmosphere and the service is awesome. I have to say the food was particularly good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and tasted spectacular. Deserts were also good. We didn’t try the wine list but the margaritas were great. Book in advance as it’s popular. It’s certainly not the cheapest place but well worth it.
The food was amazing. The crostini, lamb sliders and fluke crudo was delightful appetizers. The squid ink pasta & duck entrees was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Our server, Cornelia was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave such great suggestions. She was always smiling and a pleasure to have as a server tonight. 10 stars service and food!
Caprice is one of the most professional Matrides' and Sommier's that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Not only did Caprice make us feel at home, outside of our Primos and Secondi's she would have us sample other foods and wines. I have been going here for over 8 years & for the first time, It was a special evening due to her Hospitality. She made us both feel special. I am coming back for more date & friendly nights here for certain. Thanks again Caprice, Sonny Le Facce
Awesome place for a night out on the town or for a private event. The restaurant is very spacious and offers great Italian fare. Service was impeccable, especially the bartender Shua. He was the bartender assigned to our party and not only did he come up with the coolest evening cocktail with St. Germain, he served over 50+ guests and even hand delivered some of the drinks to our table. He was friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic and I loved the communal style dining. You could scoop what you wanted and get extra servings too. All in all, a fantastic event space and a kicking Saturday night scene.
I had the best time at Locanda Verde in Tribeca—this spot feels like a little Italian escape tucked into the city. It’s warm, lively, and has that effortlessly cool downtown energy that makes you want to stay for hours. The vibe is rustic yet elevated, and the food? So good I was already planning my next visit halfway through dinner. We ordered a mix of dishes to share, and everything was delicious—from the fresh pasta to the burrata to the olive oil cake for dessert (don’t skip it!). The service was warm and casual but super professional at the same time, which just added to the whole experience. Perfect for a date night, girls’ dinner, or anytime you want to feel cozy but classy. Honestly, this place gets it right on every level. ⸻ 📍 Locanda Verde Info 📍 377 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10013 🕒 Open daily: Mon–Thu: 7 AM – 11 PM Fri: 7 AM – 12 AM Sat: 8 AM – 12 AM Sun: 8 AM – 11 PM 📲 Reservations highly recommended (especially for dinner) ⸻ 💸 Price Range 🍝 Pastas: $24–$36 🥗 Starters: $16–$25 🍰 Desserts: ~$15 🍷 Extensive wine list + cocktails available 💳 Mid-to-upscale pricing for NYC, but 100% worth it for the atmosphere and quality @raquelgerlani
My wife and I had dinner yesterday to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. We are so happy we picked Locanda Verde. The food and ambiance were great. And the service was even better. Everything was just perfect. We took a bottle of wine from the year we got married and they did such a fine job. The Somm was very helpful and informative. Everyone made us feel so welcome and special. Thank you and we will be back!
Had received multiple recommendations for this place. Visited with a friend on a Friday night. We ordered a caesar salad, ravioli, pappardelle, and tiramisu. My personal favorite was the ravioli; the homemade tomato sauce with the lamb&pork filling was so on point. My friend liked the pappardelle with lamb ragu more though. Tiramisu was unique, with crumbled coffee beans, but I didn't like that it's served in a wide plate with the edges having only mascarpone cream (personally like having all flavors in one spoonful). I also liked that they had non-alcoholic cocktails; tried 2 of them and they were both really good. As to vibes, it gets really loud and the tables are very close to another. I personally wouldn't choose this for a quiet romantic date spot; more of dinner with friends before going out spot. I would love to go back and try more dishes!
Awesome experience here with a group of 40. Great food and such a cooperative staff. Excellent waiters, especially Evan, and Cornelia, and their boss Enrique. So very helpful and professional in every way. I just wish the event coordinator would have been more helpful and communicative. Hard to get ahold of and very little communication. This leads to unnecessary stress for all. This was a frustrating part of the journey!
This place was delicious. The service was really great as well. The manager was super kind and accommodating to us as well. The host and server as well. They also filled our waters faster than anywhere I’ve ever been. Very impressed considering they were under renovation and had seemingly few staff as well for a busy place on Friday night. Would definitely go back we ordered burrata which was delicious. All three of us enjoyed it. I ate Spaghetti alla nerano as my entree and enjoyed it. The zucchini was very filling too. I enjoyed the locanda tazza as well and the paper plane both very tasty as well. My mom had the Black Tagliatelle calamari alla puttanesca & breadcrumbs and said it was good lots of seafood!
What an amazing evening! I’ve had the pleasure of dining at this old New York gem a couple of times over the last few months, and Caiden at the bar has made it an extraordinary experience, even feel at home. I first came to Laconda with my family in 2012 for a birthday and had an amazing dinner. Now over 10 years later they still have some of the best Italian food, service, and drinks in the city. Caiden got me up to speed on the menu changes, and helped make this celebration unforgettable. Starting off with the champagne coutier and sheep’s milk ricotta— this combo will leave you dreaming about it for weeks to come. Other apps worth recommending are the exquisite (melt in your mouth) wagyu steak tartare and the perfectly balanced insalata Andrea. All of the mains are great, but Locanda prepares pasta like it’s Italy. Grandmas ravioli are delightful, although I wish it came with more sauce, and the lamb ragu papardelle is my favorite. Rich, delightful, creamy, I thought I was already full but devoured the whole plate. The prime NY Strip steak is fine but I’d recommend apps and pastas route to get the most out of the experience. I also must commend Caiden the bartender, we had the best espresso martinis of our lives with their home style creamy tiramisu for dessert. Thank you Locanda for holding what feels like golden age New York, with delicious food, amazing drinks, and undeniable service. Be back soon!
This restaurant has a great vibe and an open kitchen which creates a really cool vibe. We started with the Steak Tartare and the Insalata D’Andrea, and they were both perfect. The steak tartare was truly amazing. I loved the egg on it. However, I feel like bacon is not necessary. For the main courses, we had the Scallops and the Duck Arrosto. The scallops were unbeatably good. They match perfectly with the lentils. It is such a good dish and definitely our favorite; the duck was good, but I think the meat could have been more tender. I also tried the Cappelletti Fizz cocktail, and it was really well-balanced. I really liked it, and I also tried the Vesper In Coat Tails. It was amazing but very strong. My partner loved it! Finally, for dessert, we ordered the Lemon Panna Cotta and it was very tasty. The service was very good, the staff were always very attentive 🙏🏻 It’s a great place with really nice food. I wouldn’t use it for a first date tho, because I feel like it can be very loud, so it’s hard to talk.
Had a delicious meal at Locanda Verde - highly recommend the pappardelle as well as the dressed radicchio. Dessert was fabulous as well. Very accommodating for large parties!
This place is a gem, a true delight for any day, whether it’s sunny, rainy, or anything in between. I love the warm atmosphere and the charm of the restaurant. The service is quick, and the food is consistently delicious. I highly recommend everything on the menu: pasta, fish, steak, and all the starters are our favourites. Especially the beef tartare is absolutely outstanding!
It was a divine brunch in every way ! The service was exceptional and attentive. The Caesar salad was delicious and unlike any I have had before. The Pappardelle was a culinary masterpiece, truly and the tiramisu was beautifully designed. It was pure ambrosia, except for the whole coffee beans embedded inside. I could have done without those. Thank you for making my Sunday an unforgettable one. It goes without saying, that inside and out, Locanda Verde is an extraordinary restaurant !
Amazing service the Maitre d’ Caprice is a gem! She got me & my friend seated right away in the back dining room. They lit the fireplace which I loved. If you’re looking for a laid back upscale spot this is the place to go. Judith was my waitress she was extremely helpful. Also- please don’t get rid of the Paloma with the cinnamon rim until summers over! It was so good!

Great food. I had the Bolognese. Excellent. Fantastic service and a great setting inside. Best martinis!
Ate their last week. Elevated setting in Hudson Yards. Beautiful decor and great buzz. We ate lamb pappardelle, garlic chicken and salad. Good was fabulous. Service excellent. Great experience
Been here quite a few times, the atmosphere, artwork, food, service is so perfect! Food is 10/10 !
Swanky interior, outstanding service and delicious food. We were in Tribeca and decided to go last minute without a reservation and sat at the bar. 10/10. Highly recommend.
Food was absolutely amazing, still dreaming about the veal and pasta we had \nDrinks were great and service impecable.
Absolutely delish! Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was wonderful! Enjoyed our meal immensely!
Francisco was great and the Sommelier Gunner is my hero. By far the BEST restaurant in NYC bar none. Can't wait to return. BTW, the ribeye was AMAZING

Situated in Hudson Yards, Locanda Verde Tribeca is an exceptional Italian restaurant. Upon entering, one is captivated by the intimate details and ambiance of the interior. The food is truly delightful; I particularly enjoyed the Eggplant Lasagna and the Sausage with Ear Pasta. Following dinner, take pleasure in a lovely evening stroll around Hudson Yards.
Good place for brunch and friends gathering. Two of us ordered Frittata Caprese, Strawberry Bomboloni, and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes to share. Particularly, we liked freshly made strawberry bomboloni - it was warm and filled with rich strawberry cream. Also, the lemon ricotta pancakes were good. Not overly sweetened and there were even blueberries added in the pancakes - fruity and pairing well with the syrup
The service was very good the appetizers were very good the tartare and the buratta are good and get them for sure . The Focaccia Della Casa You could pass on. It was nice a fluffy but reminded me of one of those personal pizzas you get at target . The pasta was also good nothing that blew me away tho but very good all in all. The black tagliatelle was good but also was doing too much. Same with the lobster the 80 lobster was probably the biggest regret of the night. Over stuffed didn’t really let the taste of the lobster shine. Really oily just too much
One of my favorite restaurants. Wonderful vibe, nice stylish people, good music and very attentive service. The food deserve its own sentence so I’m just gonna go now. WOWWW unusual dishes executed so thoroughly. Every single details from flavors to decoration and plating has been well though of. Sunday burn I is the place to be
You can never go wrong with Locanda Verde! Amazing food, great vibe, outstanding service! Revisited 9/25...Had brunch at Locanda Verde for the first time and WOW. The eggs benedict were out of this world – I’ve never tasted anything like it, the sauce was unreal. The egg and sausage sandwich was incredible too, it looked like a three-story sandwich and tasted amazing. The lemon ricotta pancakes were soft, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The staff here is so friendly and attentive. This place is always consistent. I usually come for dinner, but brunch blew me away! Plus, I love the cozy yet stylish vibe of the restaurant. Definitely one of the best brunches I’ve had in NYC!
At first I thought with the name it would be Spanish, but turns out it's an Italian spot in Greenwich. The appetizers were solid - the toasted bread with what looked like eggplant or wild mushroom (I'll ask the guy who ordered) was fantastic, tasty and a good treat. The lamb meatball sliders were top heavy and ok. Regular sliders probably would've been the way to go. Steak tartare was good. Gabagool and grana was capicola and and a hard cheese which was ok, but not easy to eat - heavy/oily. The pappardelle with lamb bolognese was ok, overly salty - ended up eating most of the pasta (some of the sheets stuck together, though, so that wasn't edible), and leaving much of the lamb bolognese (greasy, but better than the meatball sliders). Good thing - service was quick and efficient and knowing the business nearby (Citi) they asked us how fast we needed to be out - and they kept us mostly on-time, nicely enough. Decor inside was dark woods and bottles all over of liquor and wine. Bathrooms downstairs. They have some private dining spaces and they were packed at lunchtime on a Wednesday.
Locanda at Hudson Yards is a hidden gem with a truly beautiful setting. The staff are exceptionally professional and warm, making the experience feel both welcoming and refined. The food is delicious, but what truly stands out is the ambiance—the interior design is romantic, intimate, and timeless, creating the perfect backdrop for a special evening. Every detail, from the classic decor to the thoughtfully crafted cocktails, makes this place unforgettable. A must-visit for anyone seeking a charming and elevated dining experience.

We had a delicious brunch. Pastries were fluffy and just lightly sweet. Bacon is extra thick but crispy. The Eggs Purgatory were amazingly flavorful. We’ll eat here again.
A meal of two halves. Half was extremely positive (ravioli and starter were fantastic) but then two over seasoned (and over-priced) mains and some very sloppy customer service (inc head waiter of section) eroded the experience. The tiny wine portions didn’t help at $20 plus a go! We were expecting a lot and really wanted to enjoy it as first time visitors but were left unimpressed. Such a shame as this came at the end of a 10 night stay in NYC where every other restaurant we ate at had delivered. There are better options at this price point.
Went here after work for a late lunch or maybe early dinner. Ordered the Sardinian Sheep's Milk Ricotta, Farmer Lee's Arugula and Lamb Meatball Sliders for appetizer. For entree I ordered My Grandmother's Ravioli. Lovely restaurant and the service was very good just a bit expensive. Out of everything ordered I have to say the sliders and the ricotta appetizer were my favorite. The ravioli was ok but could have used a bit more sauce. I likely will not go back to the restaurant but it was a nice place. I would recommend eating here at least once.
Good service from the waiter, good pasta, but too expensive for what it is. Wine, burrata were ok, the salad too much acid, brocoli not good at all, dessert chocolate too much sugar we didn't taste the chocolate. Maybe next time it will be better but please review your price because there are better restaurant with better price. I don't recommend this restaurant if the quality of certain plates and price didn't change.
Not a crowded area so, enjoyed my time at this place. The food was a mix, as some of our pastries were too sweet..so sweet that we could not eat them all. Meanwhile the pancakes were delish, except one of them had a bit of a chicken taste leftover. Guess the pancakes were cooked right next to the chicken?!?!?! I am a veggie person so, imagine my shock when I tasted the chicken flavor. Aside from that, this place was nice.
Red shrimp was tasteless, although the beans were good. Pasta dishes were too salty and very skimpy on the meat (see photos) Service was uncoordinated and bizarre (waiter didn’t understand meaning of al dente?), our pasta dishes took way too long to come out and the manager not introducing himself tells us they are coming out soon but it’s another 10 minutes? Still, wonderful atmosphere, and we will be back.
Walking into Locanda Verde in 2025 feels a bit like attending a high school reunion for the Cool Kids of 2009. The volume is still turned up to eleven, the room is still packed with the sort of energetic, golden-hued crowd that suggests something important is happening, and the ghost of Robert De Niro’s patronage still hovers in the rafters like a guardian angel of reservations. But if the ambiance is still partying like it’s the Obama administration, the food seems to be suffering from a bit of a hangover. We arrived ready to worship at the altar of Chef Andrew Carmellini’s urban Italian temple. And to be fair, the Sheep’s Milk Ricotta remains the restaurant’s security blanket. Served with that burnt orange toast, it is creamy, fluffy, and reliable—a reminder of why this place became a landmark to begin with. The Lamb Meatball Sliders also did their job: bite-sized punches of flavor that pair perfectly with a loud conversation and a glass of Nebbiolo. However, once we moved past the "greatest hits" appetizers, the cracks in the veneer began to show. The Lamb Chops Scottadito were the culinary equivalent of a shrug. For a dish whose name translates to "burned fingers" (implying they are so delicious you can't wait to grab them), these were safely fork-and-knife territory. They arrived looking uninspired, accompanied by a small, lonely triangle of what the menu calls "chickpea panelle" but what the palate registers as "sad, dry polenta." It felt like a dish going through the motions. Similarly, the Black Shells Frutti di Mare—squid ink pasta that should smell like the ocean in the best way—missed the mark. You want "briny and bright"; we got "tired and murky." When seafood doesn't feel 100% fresh in a place charging Tribeca rents, the illusion of luxury dissolves pretty quickly. We rounded things out with the Fire-Roasted Garlic Chicken and the Gnocchi, both of which were… fine. And that’s the problem. In a city where Italian dining is a blood sport, "fine" is the first step toward irrelevance. The Verdict: Locanda Verde has undeniably lost some of its luster. It is currently a restaurant coasting on its location and its legacy. If you want to feel the pulse of the city, drink good wine, and shout over the din in a beautiful room, it’s still a contender. But if you’re looking for a meal that haunts your dreams? You might be a decade too late.
Weird experience tonight and it pains me to write this. I’m a huge fan of Locanda Verde, especially the Tribeca location. Made a reservation for my wife’s birthday about two weeks in advance and clearly listed it was my wife’s birthday. They were about 15 mins late seating, not a big deal at all, we had a drink at the bar. But then they proceeded to lead us into the back room with absolutely no music, no vibe and no energy. Major mood killer! Totally different experience than main room. I felt like Sloth being chained in the dungeon. The food was excellent. We ordered the Cesar salad to start (10 out of 10) and then the lamb meatball sliders (also 10 out of 10) and steak tartar (8.5 out of 10.) Next course was the ravioli. It was excellent but not hot (not cold either but it def was sitting for a while before they brought out to us overall 8.5 out of 10.) We split the half garlic chicken as our main (9 out of 10) and crispy potato’s (5 out of 10) they were inedible, way too salty. We complained and they sent us new ones albeit it took 15 mins to bring out. We also ordered Brussel sprouts (11 out of 10) they are to die for. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu (10 out of 10) and they brought out a candle for my wife’s birthday. Service was excellent no complaints there. Solid water game although they didn’t really come over and ask us about reordering cocktails so we only had two drinks the whole night but overall, I have to say it was a real miss with putting us in the back room. Really killed the vibe for us.
Had a pretty bland dinner here. Came here right when they opened Saturday with reservations and sat us probably in the worst seat by the entrance and it wasnt even full basically empty. Food was just okay. Steak tar tar was probably the best dish of the night but they put an odd fried quail egg on top instead of egg yolk and a super thin slice of bacon is basically unneeded. Pasta was very underwhelming and lamb chops were good. They dont even have complementary bread? Cocktails are decent tho, but dinner was mediocre
The venue is gorgeous with dark wood paneling throughout and floor to ceiling windows which gives it a rustic yet modern ambience. Service was good and professional but not too detail oriented nor anticipatory. My group and I initially sat inside but it was the table closest to the kitchen opening so we decided to move to the patio to have a quieter table and better setting. Unfortunately, the rustic Italian dishes seemed quite good in written form but in real time taste was not really great nor special. The Roasted chicken reminded me of a vamped up version of Costco chicken. Which to say the least is tasty but not worth this price tag. Cavatelli was cooked Al Dente but the sauce Was just okay and lacked substance. My friend had been 2 years ago and this venue was always a gem. Perhaps we just had an off night. Overall, mediocre and not worth this price.
Gonna be honest like wasn't anything crazy or worth wild coming back for. I really enjoyed the Cesar salad the most. The service was top notch but I've had better Italian.

Our reservation was made for inside. Our table was not ready, after 25 minutes and our table was still not ready therefore we opted to start dinner outside with the understanding they would move in…
Will Not Repeat The first couple of visits were excellent, however they've fallen off quite a bit since then. With our previous visit we got the Tripe which was not cleaned properly and carried a pungent smell. Our concerns were not really addressed and they feigned an apology and said they'd remove it from the check. This visit was mediocre as well, All of the pastas came out cold and when asked to heat it a bit, one of the dishes with a butter based sauce, came back burnt and hot Af. The crab pasta had a few bites that had a bit of an ammonia smell.
I went to Locanda for lunch with a friend and we were expecting a bit more. The service was nice and place also was nice but the food was very disappointing. The antipasti was good but the pasta itself wasn’t a big deal. The price was okay. Would not go back
We’ve eaten at Locanda Verde several times before and have always been fond of the place, so it’s a real shame to say our recent visit was so disappointing. We booked a late lunch at 2:30pm, not realising that the restaurant closes at 3pm. It’s frustrating that they accept bookings that late when the team is clearly preparing to shut down for the afternoon. The atmosphere was flat, and from the moment we sat down, everything felt rushed. Despite asking for a break between starters and mains, our mains arrived before our bottle of wine, and the entire meal was over within an hour. While the starters were very nice, the mains — the porchetta sandwich and the chicken — were both dry and underwhelming. Overall, the food and experience just didn’t live up to what Locanda Verde used to be. If you’re after a great New York lunch or dinner at any time of day, head to Via Carota or Gramercy Tavern instead — you’ll spend less, eat better, and enjoy genuinely warm service. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to Locanda Verde.
Outstanding restaurant, normally. However went for Thanksgiving prefixe. 2 of us had the prefixe plus a $200 bottle of wine and a few drinks. Bill was ~$800 but the food was mediocre to unsatisfactory. Turkey and stuffing were completely dry, sprouts and potatoes were OK, apps and dessert were fine. Despite very specific discussion on wine, it was basically the opposite of what we requested. The service and atmosphere however were world class. Caveat emptor.
Absolutely awful service at this restaurant, My girlfriend handpicked this restaurant for its good reputation and highly praised food for her birthday dinner and so we got a reservation. After sitting at the bar waiting for our table to be ready we were sat down and our waiter introduced himself, we mentioned we were here for a birthday dinner, he then rudely responded "I know, I saw it in your reservation notes" with a disrespectful tone. We then ordered the grandmothers ravioli and pappardelle lamb pasta. The waiter spoke about how the grandmothers ravioli had a red sauce and the pumpkin ravioli and how it was 'much better this time of year', I couldn't hear him due to the loud atmosphere of the restaurant so I responded to him by saying it was fine. Our food came out within 10 minutes and we were given the pappardelle lamb pasta and the pumpkin ravioli. Disregarding that I had not received what I had ordered and the waiter basically ordered it for me, I decided to take his recommendation and at least try the pumpkin ravioli. I immediately regretted not contesting the waiters decision, It was disgusting, my girlfriend also tryed the dish and had the same feelings about its flavor and texture. Overall the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and bar with the bartender being very funny, and to be fair my girlfriend loved her dish and still had a great birthday dinner. If it was not my girlfriends birthday dinner my experience would have been totally ruined.
The pastas and raviolis are so average, I’ve made better food at home. Pasta was very thick, not aldente, just simply mixed with pesto or melted cheese. Peanuts in steak tartare are not needed, just not a good flavor combination. The best thing hung was ricotta cheese. We waited for food so long.. not coming back.
It took a while for anyone to acknowledge me while I was waiting at the host stand. Eventually I was taken to my table, but the service never really improved. Our waitress was just okay, she didn't check on us often, and it was frequently unclear who our actual server was, as three different people took parts of our order throughout the evening. A gentleman in a suit, who l assume was a manager, brought our drinks to the table and was very polite and funny. I honestly wish he had been our server. The food was mediocre, with nothing that really stood out. After seeing and reading all the hype surrounding this place, the experience was extremely disappointing. Overall, the service, food, and ambiance all fell short, and the experience felt dry and forced
Wow - We’ve lived in NYC for six years and this is probably the worst experience ever. Had a reservation for 8:15, but there was no table. An hour later, after multiple checks at the desk, still no…
I have to change my mind , after giving this place 5 starts a year ago . we had a reservation and we had to wait at the bar for 20 minutes, the server never ask us for any allergies, I had to tell him that I don’t eat pork as a preference and I don’t eat shellfish as an allergy. His response was “OK”, then steak tartare came and it was a small piece of bacon on top of the food . And of course because the bacon already touched the food I was not able to eat it. The server never came to check on us for the appetizers and the main course . It was just like are you ready to order guys ? And see you whenever you want the check. The main course took a long time to come to the table.
My husband and I stayed at the Greenwich Hotel last year over my birthday and New Years. The hotel was great but we still joke about how horrible Locanda Verde was. Our hotel stay included breakfast and it was truly so bad...easily my worst restaurant experience in NYC by far. We assumed the first time was a fluke so tried it a second time and it was just as bad as the first. Note that they also knew it was my birthday and still gave horrendous service. Service was basically non-existent and the food was below average. I really have no idea how they are rated over 1 star. Greenwich Hotel and De Niro should put a better restaurant in it's place.
I have been here in the past and have enjoyed the food and the service . I was here today for brunch with 2 other adults . Our server was in a bad mood and rushed us. We ordered 2 orders of eggs Benedict, one order of French toast and another order of waffles. We all ordered alcoholic drinks as well. ALL of the food was cold , every single entree. The server said she couldn’t warm food and walked away. I was treating the others for a birthday brunch and was both embarrassed and thoroughly disappointed. Portions were small as well. Not the restaurant I remember. My bill was over $200 , unacceptable at any price.
We were really excited to have Valentine’s dinner here, however we were very disappointed with the service. At the start of our meal, we clearly told our server that my boyfriend has a nut allergy and ordered the Caesar salad as part of our meal. Unfortunately, they incorrectly brought out another salad, that looked similar but was covered in nuts. The manager did apologize, which we appreciated, but there wasn’t any effort to take the dish off the bill or make the situation right. Given how serious food allergies are, it was pretty concerning. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this experience was really disappointing overall, and sadly we won’t be returning.
I have been a loyal patron of Locanda Verde for years, but my experience on March 7, 2026, was an absolute masterclass in how to ruin a guest’s evening. We were a party of four, hosting friends from out of town for a 6:00 PM reservation. We were mid-bottle of a $192 Barbaresco when the hospitality completely vanished. At 7:51 PM—less than two hours into our meal—the check was dropped at Table 204 without us asking for it. The "highlight" of the night? An Asian gentleman with glasses approached us and suggested we move to the hotel lobby with our drinks so they could flip the table. When we didn't immediately move, the staff literally started making circles around our table, hovering and staring to make us feel as uncomfortable as possible so that we would leave. Our server, LeeShay M, and the floor management made us feel like we were overstaying our welcome at a high-end establishment. It felt like a cheap diner rather than a Greenwich Street staple. As someone who frequently dines at Café Carmellini, I know the high standards this group is capable of. However, under Service Manager Victoria Stokes, the atmosphere has shifted from hospitality to a "bum's rush" to get people off their chairs. The food is still great, but the management's attitude is a dealbreaker. I won’t be back with guests anytime soon.
The hostess, food runners, and a lovely waiter named Godfrey was amazing...BUT the waiter assigned to our table didn't inform us that the kitchen closed at 3 so we felt very rushed and the drinks that were recommended [after asking for sweet flavor profiles] were bitter and sour. I doubt I'd ever return. Not how I'd hope to spend my actual birthday.
