A Dining Gem with Stellar Service and an Unbeatable Happy Hour I live in the neighborhood, and this is my new go too place after work to chill. From the moment you walk in, this restaurant delivers an experience that's nothing short of exceptional. You're greeted warmly at the door by Nestor, the maître d' who sets the tone for the evening with his gracious smile and welcoming presence. It's rare to feel so instantly at home in a place that also feels so elegant. Chris the Manager will come over and check to see that everything is ok! Andres, my waiter and bartender for the evening, was a true standout. His knowledge of the menu, paired with his attentive yet relaxed service, made the night even more enjoyable. He introduced me to what's now my new obsession: the tuna tartare. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's next level--perfectly fresh, seasoned to perfection, and plated like a work of art. The happy hour menu is outstanding--seriously one of the best in town. The shrimp cocktail is plump, chilled just right, and served with a zesty cocktail sauce that wakes up your taste buds. The oysters are fresh, briny, and incredibly satisfying. But again, that tuna tartare deserves its own spotlight ( it's not on the happy hour but worth the price)--don't leave without trying it! You must try the Tribeca sour, delish! If you're looking for a spot that offers a sophisticated vibe, excellent food, and genuinely great service, this place checks every box. Trust me, you'll be in the best of hands. Ask for Andres at the bar!

My wife and I wanted somewhere special to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We are big fans of iron chef America, therefore American cut seemed like the perfect place. We walked in with high expectations, and wow! Our expectations were exceeded!!! Everything was perfect, everyone was so nice and attentive, even the young man on training worked really hard to make our experience special!!! Will definitely be back next time we are in New York!

Incedible food and superb attentive service by Jarrod. Recommendations he offered were spot on. Amazing meat and even the sides were delicious! Our group of 6 loved the Chili Lobster appetizer, try it!!

Amazing steak and the sides are incredible! Very heavy though, so make sure you are hungry when you come here. Very kind waiters and beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend it.

Came for the “New York Happy Meal” and stayed way longer than happy hour. It was packed on a weekday at 6:30 and we struggled to find a spot in the bar area to get the happy hour menu. The size of the happy meal (truffle fries, Caesar salad, and dirty martini) was bigger than expected! Great value

Superb meal with friends. The smoked old fashions were not just for show and tasted really good. Service was very good and helpful. The steak was cooked very well and all of the sides were delicious. Particularly recommend the Mac and carrots. The jalapeno mash was interesting and glad we tried it. Would highly recommend

I really, really enjoyed this place! The filet was so tender and flavorful, it was awesome. It did seem a bit small, but that could just be because I was hungry, and so eager to take another bite. I also tried a bite of the tuna which was also very good. My favorite part of the meal, though, was the twice baked potatoes. These were amazing, and I definitely recommend them to anyone who enjoys a good potato every now and then. The ambiance was great, the place was busy but somehow kept a somewhat private feel to it. The service was good, but could have been a touch quicker. Other than that, I definitely would recommend this place to anyone into steak or fish! I ended up going back to American Cut, this time with my family. It actually surpassed my previous experience! Our server, Dave, was excellent, and the food came out incrementally which was nice. For starters we had the Caesar salad, and I think it might have been the best one I’ve had in the city so far. I tried the bone-in strip steak, and I was thoroughly impressed. I had the twice baked potatoes, Chef Dan’s potatoes and the spinach. I would definitely recommend all of them to anyone as a side option. I tasted the chocolate cake, the sorbet and the doughnuts for dessert, and each was really good. All in all, it was a great meal, as well as a great experience.

I’ve visited American Cut twice before with friends, and had a great time. As I’m sure most people suggest – get the chili lobster. This time, I decided to check it out during New York City Restaurant Week. The discounted menu did not disappoint -- the filet mignon was cooked perfectly, the macaroni and cheese was excellent, and I couldn’t get enough of the kampachi tartare.

My first time coming here for my anniversary and the experience was well worth it. Overall ambiance 10/10. The drinks were amazing and the food was just impeccable from the appetizer to the entrées it just doesn’t get any better. Definitely somewhere to go for a date, or celebrate a birthday, and if you want to try something new. Me and my boyfriend was so impressed that I decided to write a review. You can’t find great steak house that got 10/10 for everything but this sure did it

Loved this place! Our waitress, don't remember her name, was absolutely fantastic and hilarious! Really great food, including the phenomenal everything biscuit they serve you at the beginning. Might be worth dining here if nothing more than the darn biscuits! I can recommend the filet and the sides, no issues whatsoever. Good wine selection as well and in my opinion a very good atmosphere and vibe inside the restaurant.

We had a private party at American Cut in the Morrison Room on the lower level for 20 guests for my husbands 30th birthday. We were blown away by how accommodating and pleasant they were every step of the process. Booking the party with Tricia was easy and she was extremely responsive. Day of the event, everything went fantastic. Liz, Chris and the entire staff were OUTSTANDING. It was one of the best service experiences we have ever had. The food was incredible and served family style which was great for our group. Highly recommend American Cut Tribeca for a private party.

I love the drinks, service and amazing evening that was provided by the hosts, also bartender Jennifer & Yon were AMAZING. The hosts were super kind, accommodating and they really showed that they care about the experience. Also, the sliders were tasty and it makes me wonder how good the burger could be, so I'll need to order it when I come back. Last night the hosts + bar team gave me one of the best nights I've had in NY dining. Thank you again guys!! - Sedra

Where do I start? This cute, modern steakhouse had an ambiance that said that we were going to have a great night. Bread for the table was this absolutely flaky buttery everything biscuit with the most flavorful herbed butter that i have ever tasted. That first bite, let me know that food at the establishment was going to be amazing. My grilled bacon had the right amount of salty and the BBQ sauce that accompanied it was the right amount of sweet. My NY strip was tender and juicy and my friend's salmon was seared well and flavorful. The pureed potatoes looked like it was going to be gummy but I was wrong. It was soft and silky and was one of the best bites i enjoyed tonight. Dessert didnt disappoint, the mango jam on the cheesecake and the velvety popcorn icecream was the perfect end to this meal. This dining experience exceeded my expectations and this was due to the friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff. The hostess who greeted me was so gracious, the bartender who attended to my friend who waited at the bar for me who insisted i too had a drink even if it was just a glass of water, to Gio our waiter who along with his coworkers made the night run smoothly; checking in and following up to ensure our dinner was going well to the floor manager Emma who started us on our food journey when she delivered the biscuit to the table. As the night progressed the restaurant got busier and the service that we received never wavered. I had the opportunity to speak to manager (as he too was present and walking around) and was pleased to share the lovely experience I had at his establishment. I definitely would recommend dining at American Cut Tribeca. Quality is quality and this restaurant measured up.

Had an amazing dinner here over the weekend with some friends. This was my first time at American Cut and I must say, it has easily become one of my top restaurants for a night out. Though it is on the pricier side, I definitely believe the quality of the food makes it worth it. I highly recommend the jim brady oysters and the bacon….so delicious! The lamb and tomahawk for two was also amazing. For sides we ordered the lobster mac, jalapeno mash and the sunchoked spinach. The jalapeno mash was on the spicier end and this wasnt great but the lobster mac is definitely a must order. To end the night we ordered the cracker jack sundae and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Our reviews had over 36 million views last year. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really loved American Cut. We went pre-theater and it was fantastic she had the chicken and I had the bone in ribeye both were cooked to perfection the chicken was very moist and had a lovely brown sauce on it that was extremely good when I ordered my steak the server recommended that we get all five sauces which I did and all of them were delicious I highly recommend getting the entire flight of sauces it really changes the experience and makes it wonderful. We had the mushrooms which were great with fried onion rings on top and we had the Jalapeno mashed potatoes which we really liked. They were not very spicy but spicy enough to be fun. It was my birthday so we had the famous cracker jack Sunday which was very good and we were treated to a opera quality birthday singer see the video attached to this review she was excellent and really had no business working in a restaurant she should be on stage. The prices were right and the room was lovely they have a gigantic seating area upstairs plus a private seating area down in the basement they have another full bar and a gigantic slew of additional tables which they may use for private events or which they open up on weekends there’s also a very large bar upstairs you can eat and all the bars as well highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 36 million views so far this year and we thank you for that. We don't get paid, we just love to eat. Ok, this was definitely my husband's choice because of the steak!! I'm pescetarian. HOWEVER!! Liz, the waiter, was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I felt sorry for her bacause I was so tired from exploring the streets of NY that day, that my energy level was so low, but I loved that it didn't rub off of her! I mean, give the lady a rise! 💵 It it wasn't for her I wouldn't leave this comment. The atmosphere and her serving and energy levels - well, no one can match that! I love the way she approaches guests, her humor and how she's attentive all the time. It really made the whole dinner worth it ❤️ oh yeah, and I loved their chilli lobster! 🔥

I had an amazing time at American Cut! I came on a solo date for their NYC Happy Meal, and it did not disappoint! The highlight of my night was for sure the bartenders, Emilio and Andreas. They were so sweet and professional, and made sure I had an excellent night! Special shoutout to Carlos, Nestor, and Matthew for making me feel so welcome. 15/10 most definitely recommend!

Best steak I’ve had in my entire life, and I have traveled and eaten all over the world! We split a wedge salad to start. For our entree, we ordered the porterhouse with a la crate sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Service was impeccable! Many thanks to our server Russel and his support staff. Wines and cocktails were reasonably priced. Definitely worth the price. I actually spent less than we anticipated. This is a great place for date night. Decor, ambience and crowd were exactly as anticipated. We will definitely return.

Every time I dine at American Cut it is wonderful and tonight was no exception. I went with a friend for restaurant week… The waiter was knowledgeable and always there if we needed anything. The food was brought out perfectly- we didn’t feel like we were waiting or being rushed. I already made a reservation to return next week with my husband.

Fancy & cozy steakhouse! The staff is really attentive. We had our old fashioned made table side with cherry wood. And the best part not pictured are the "everything biscuits" as a starter! The steaks are ah-mazing! One of the best I've had in the city!!

Hosted a birthday dinner for a buddy of mine last night here , they were AMAZING AND VERY ACCOMMODATING. I was in the talks with them a week prior , I set this table up for 25 ppl. They were very professional with the response and the quickness of it. Deposit was paid and everything was set. Last night we all had an amazing time , our waitress LIZ was amazing and cheers to her for dealing with 25 drunk men. Steaks were on point !! Everyone’s order came correct and on time. This is a very corporate restaurant. The ambience is dim & Grimm but fits the clientele that dine there. We ordered Mac & Cheese, Medium temp Filet-E-Mignon topped off with bone marrow, & a Tomahawk steak. Everything was cooked to order and we were satisfied. The waiters paid good attention not just to us, but to others as well. I'm happy we went there.

This is the 1st time we came back after pandemic. and we are pleasantly surprised. Hosts were nice. services were good and several staff stopped by and checked on us. that’s especially nice. The cold seafood tower was fabulously presented (they put different types of seafood in different bowels, not just directly on top of ice - a nice touch). the biscuits were warm and nice (i don’t like the seasoned butter, but my gourmet son thought it was great). my son enjoyed his 20 oz ribeyes, lobster mac and cheese, and fries. i had a cesar salad- too much cheese, but fresh. my son loved their cracker jack sundae too. We enjoyed the entire experience a lot! it’s worth every penny. one thing i really disliked is that the servers kept bumping into my chair when they walked pass by. it got really annoying. they should train their servers not to bump into chairs that guests sit on or space the place out so servers have plenty of space to walk by

Love this place. This is the 2nd time I've been here and it's at the top of my list for steakhouses in NYC. The staff have always been pleasant, friendly, and attentive and -- most importantly -- the food has been phenomenal. On this occasion, my girl and I shared two appetizers (Tuna Tar Tot and the Seabass Ceviche) and both were amazing. The Tar Tot is so good as a sort of layer cake of flavors and textures -- tuna and a wasabi based cream/sauce sit on top of a perfectly fried hash brown patty. The ceviche was sooo fresh and love that it's served with a plantain for dipping/scooping/mopping (I recommend the scooping option). For dinner I had the Pastrami Rib Eye (which was a step down from the 40oz Tomahawk I shared with a friend on my first visit; it was unsalted and a bit burnt on the edges) but after using the accompanied mustard I liked it very much. My girl had the filet which was perfectly cooked and exactly what you'd expect from a world class steak house. We got the Mac and cheese du jour (and on this day, it was a three cheese blend) which was some of the best Mac and cheese I've had at a steak house. Loved that the pasta was al dente' -- that put it over the top for me. Will definitely return hungry!

Next time I'll bring friends so we can taste more items. The employees handle tasks quickly and respectfully. You can tell their commitment from meal taste and customer treatment. The cuisine works well, but the atmosphere is outstanding. Keep this restaurant among those who understand.

From the moment we entered on a blisteringly cold evening last night to the moment we left , it was a warm, engaging, and professional experience from the greeters, bartenders, waitstaff, and all! The drinks at the bar were delicious and the food was outstanding. Stephon was our waiter, and he was a top notch. I will recommend others go here and I am amazed that I haven't been in sooner.

Best kept secret in Tribeca! Lots to love about the American Cut. My favorite 2 words "Short & Ribs" I've not had better in NY.. it is drop the mic good as is the Lobster soup... and I dont normally eat Lobster. Finally, if your gluten free... the bread will not disappoint! Bravo American Cut, everytime im in NY this is a must stop.

This is an amazing steakhouse! It’s a beautiful space, the bar is hip, the food is excellent and the service is wonderful. We held a work event here and had a terrific time. The steaks and seafood were phenomenal, with every bite being better than the last. The pork belly and seafood platter with shrimp and oysters were a meal in themselves! and the octopus was divine. The mashed potato, creamed spinach and Brussels sprouts with bacon sides were amazing too. And don’t even get me started on the everything biscuits! The desserts were the perfect size after such an extravagant meal. Downstairs they have a private room and bar that is perfect for groups of 25 or so. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Beautiful, classy, delicious steakhouse on Greenwich St. The perfect ambiance for date night or even night out with the girls. Service is impeccable. We had the porterhouse steak - so much that we had to take some home. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were had a lot of kick and we loved it. Mushrooms also delicious. Ended with a yummy Cracker Jack sundae. It’s pricey so you can always try to go during restaurant week if you want to try it out!

I very much enjoyed my night here. The porter house Chefs Cut was cooked to perfection and the little show they put was wonderful for my out of town guest. Honestly after going to many fine steak house I’m definitely adding this one to the rotation. The homemade chocolate chip cookies with sea salt were so delish even though we could barely think about dessert after our fabulous dinner.

I’ve been going to American Cut for a while now and while the food is amazing, the level of service is what puts this restaurant above the rest. During my latest visit, which was planned last minute, my friends and I just hung out at the bar area which is always a fun scene in itself. We were warmly greeted by Chris (the GM) and Lilly (the Hostess) when we arrived. Everything from the Shrimp Cocktail, Happy Hour Sliders, Truffle Fires, Tuna Tartot (yes, tuna tartar over a tater tot), Pastrami Ribeye and Dry Aged Potatoes were amazing. And ofcourse let’s not forget the cocktails which were made to perfection by Andres and Andrew. What made it more special were the unexpected cracker jack sundaes and piece of cake for my birthday. A very special thank you to Andres for looking after of us. American Cut is lucky to have him. Can’t wait to go back!

Our server was the absolute best. Amazing food. It was my birthday and they made me feel so special even though the restaurant was fully packed. This is my new go to spot for steak. Not only that, the appetizers were amazing. We tried the ceviche and it did not disappoint. The wedge salad was great, though if you don’t like cheese, I’d suggest getting another salad, the cheese is heavy on this salad. I loved it. The ribeye was cooled just right. I recommend the butter side sauce. We also tried their cocktails and the whiskey sour was very good. I was not sure if their cocktails would be great since everyone else was having wine but as a cocktail person, it was absolutely amazing and done right. Compliments to the chef and the mixologist, and special thanks to our waiter. They made sure our night was special.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wonderful Experience at American Cut We had an incredible dinner at American Cut. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the seating was so comfortable that it made the whole evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. They also went out of their way to make James feel special for his birthday — surprising him with a caramel‑ornament flavored birthday ice cream that was honestly amazing. It was such a thoughtful touch and really made the night memorable. A perfect spot for a celebration. We’ll definitely be back.

This is our second time dining here. We had such a great meal and experience last time that we had to come back, and tonight did not disappoint. My husband was looking forward to the lamb chops since we made our reservation. The food and our server Radish, were excellent! Looking forward to our nex5 visit,!

Hands down one of the most delicious steak houses in NY. We had an office holiday party here and the service was spot on. Liz was our server. She was very attentive to what the full party needed, made sure allergies were taken care of, and never let our glasses run low. The tuna tartare was phenomenal. The steak was cooked to perfection. Some of our favorite sides were the bacon, the cauliflower, and the cream spinach. Highly recommend trying this place.

The server Adrian was amazing. He was attentive and catered to our needs. Dining experience rated 10 out of 10. Favorite dish of the night had to be the desert apple sliced crusted pie with ice cream and caramel drizzle on top. (A different male server noted this dessert is the only day that serves on Thanksgiving). Recipe is difficult to make. I would come back again and recommend anyone visit the American cut. It's an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience.

American Cut Steakhouse is easily one of my favorite spots in the city. Our waiter John was incredible; genuinely one of the best servers I’ve had anywhere. He made the whole experience feel warm and inviting, and you can tell he really cares about making sure everything is perfect. I’ve been here multiple times and always get the filet mignon. It’s unbelievably consistent every time, cooked perfectly to temp and packed with flavor. The maître d’ butter is unreal. I also had a Moscow Mule that was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything about this place hits, the food, the drinks, and the service. Ask for John if you can. He really makes the night.

American Cut delivers a bold, modern take on the classic steakhouse. The steaks are top-notch—perfectly charred on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with flavor. The signature chili lobster and Caesar salad prepared tableside add a fun, personal touch. Sides like the corn soufflé and crispy potatoes are rich and satisfying. The space feels sleek and vibrant, with great energy and a polished but comfortable vibe. Service is attentive and smooth, matching the quality of the food. A great choice for anyone who loves a lively atmosphere and perfectly cooked steak.

American Cut Steakhouse in Tribeca was an outstanding experience! The ambiance is fantastic — elegant yet comfortable, perfect for a night out. The steak was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We started with the lobster appetizer, which was unforgettable, and the potato side was equally incredible. A special shoutout to our server, John, who was attentive, friendly, and made the evening even better. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a top-notch steakhouse experience!

We ordered the skirt steak that was cooked to perfection. Jalapeno mashed potatoes look weird, but I assure you that they are good! The cauliflower and asparagus did not disappoint. Edgar, one of the waiters, was very pleasant and happy. This is our second time at American Cut and it didn't disappoint. The fresh, hot biscuits that they serve pair really well with the silky, smooth butter. Super delicious!

If you're looking for a viral dining experience, don’t miss the Adult Happy Meal; a perfectly curated combo of a Caesar salad, fries, and a martini. But be sure to arrive between opening and 7 PM to snag that deal! Beyond the buzz, what stood out most was the service. There was a small hiccup, but it was resolved swiftly and professionally. The atmosphere inside is warm, lively, and incredibly cozy, making it the perfect spot for a night out. Now, let’s talk food. The star of the show: The NY Strip Steak; absolutely phenomenal. On the flip side, the Speyside Affair wasn’t my favorite. But if you’re looking for a reason to drop in, let it be the Cracker Jack Sundae, a sweet and nostalgic treat that’s worth the trip on its own. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food, a welcoming staff, and an ambiance that makes you want to stay awhile (as i did). I highly recommend!

I enjoyed dining here so much! My wife and I visited three years ago for my birthday and we wanted to come back so bad. I booked Valentine’s Day dinner and it didn’t disappoint. I’m amazed by the chili lobster and it tasted so yummy and flavorful. The sauce was well done with a hint of spice (Thai spice I guess?) and the cream mixed with the lobster. Another favorite is the dry aged potato. It’s so good! Porterhouse tasted great too and I appreciate the fire show. It smelled really nice. I look forward to coming back again.

Such a fabulous dinner. My mom and daughter and I were visiting NYC and truly enjoyed our dinner on Thursday. The food was outstanding. The service was top notch. The ambiance was warm and cozy. I wished I would have tried one of the seafood entrees. I am certain everything on your menu is delicious and prepared perfectly. What a treat it was coming to your restaurant for dinner. We all loved it. My next trip to the city I will def make a reservation. And anyone I know heading to the city I will highly recommend.

I went here for restaurant week and while I thought the food was pretty good, I am not sure it would be worth going for the more expensive full menu. I got the filet mignon for my main entree and while it was good, I wouldn't say it was far above other (less prestigious) steakhouses I've been to. The stuff that came with the steak was actually more impressive. Their homemade "hashbrown" was actually phenomenal. It might be silly to say but I almost enjoyed it more than the steak. Likewise their cracker jack sundae was really good. In terms of decor, it's pretty dimly lit. Comfortable, but don't expect to be able to see the faces of whoever you are with. It's has definitely more of a dress-up, intimate vibe. Whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you and what kind of experience you're looking for. For me, I don't really mind but it was also a little too dark.

They have a variety of appetizer menu other than steak which is nice. It’d be ideal for a group so you can share and enjoy different things. Great service, great location.

"Where the pretty people eat meat"... This was a quote by a coworker who came here and highly recommended the pastrami ribeye. Wednesday Night, guy outing, no reso..walk-in @ 8:30 asked hostess if table for 6 was available. Luckily yes with a 10 min wait @ bar. Bar seating area had lots of lovely ladies, assumed it was ladies night. No Beer served only cocktail and wine. Seated, asked server if we could do the burger in the dining room as 2 guys were bloated from happy hour earlier. They were able to accommodate our request. There was a $16 piece of bacon on the menu that sounded very interesting but no one wanted to give it a go. I ordered the Pastrami Ribeye and it did not disappoint. Very tasty, very unique and flavorful. Porterhouse for 2 was prepared table side and the comments were very good but they were expecting amazing. The Bone-in Rib Eye was devoured in 10 bites or 4 mins so I assumed it was pretty good as well. The service was very good and attentive and the space was lively. There were a lot of pretty people eating meat so the quote fits.

Wonderful dinner experience set in a lively ambience -- even on a weeknight. Beautiful modern yet stylized decor with bar and lounge at the front, and separate dining spaces adjacent. Impeccable service and dishes are perfectly prepared. One small criticism is the worn out (leather) furniture and water leakage in the restrooms.

Better Food Better Mood

It’s a solid steakhouse with a nice atmosphere. I treated my dearest friend here and had a nice dinner. Although everything was good, it was a bit well… salty for our tastebuds. Kind of felt bad when we couldn’t finish our plates, it was more like we had 80% leftover… which we had to take-out. Taste is fine! But yeah too salty and greasy to eat in one sitting😅The price is reasonable. It’s better than Wolfgang for sure. I’m not sure the taste is on par with Peter Luger or Ruth Chris though 🤔 To each their own I guess. Also I was already informed of this beforehand so just letting others know that their Medium = Medium Well. So either order the level one up or one below to get your steak perfectly cooked to your own liking.

Food is spectacular (in every sense), decor is very nice reminding the 20/30s - I was expecting a more friendly service, looked like the old school steakhouse, nothing bad but very straightforward. In my opinion this restaurant is a little overpriced but is having his hype moment so people is massively having food there (the restaurant was fully packed when I visited)

I really don’t like writing this and have to give a fair review here. Everything was terrific, but my steak. The ribeye was just eh and it should have been the star. Let me explain…. Smoked old fashion smelled and tasted great, bread reminded me of biscuits and was so good along with the butter it came with. French fries had the perfect amount of crisp, salt, truffle and overall flavor; Brussels sprouts with the bits of bacon and mini pearl onions were fantastic. The S&W bacon… still dreaming about it. Shrimps in the shrimp cocktail were enormous and refreshing. I just don’t know what happened to the steak, it really lacked flavor and was a bit overcooked. If you are in the area, consider this steakhouse (hopefully everyone else’s steak will be better). The staff were really good and the restaurant is definitely classy.

The service was amazing and quick, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, the drinks were good as well. I got the beef braised short ribs which was okay, I feel like it lacked A LOT salt. My husband got steak which was very good along with crème brûlée. The dining area was unbearably cold, I probably won’t be back but it was decent experience.

It just doesn’t serve steak—it orchestrates an indulgent, high-rolling allure with all the swagger of a classic American steakhouse. Dark wood, low lighting, and plush seating. Service was crisp, polished, and anticipatory, embodying the elegance expected of a top-tier steakhouse. The meal kicked off with an everything-flavored biscuit and vegetable butter—warm, flaky, and borderline addictive. A quiet flex from the kitchen. The tuna tar tot arrived looking like a layered art piece—delicate tuna stacked over a crisp tater tot, brightened with soy citrus and avocado. Next came the grilled bacon—a thick, smoky slab of salty indulgence, kissed by the grill and bathed in steak sauce. It was larger than expected, forcing a moment of self-restraint. Then, the steaks. The new york strip played it straight—quality beef cooked right, no frills, no distractions. Meanwhile, the braised beef short rib was fork-tender, luxuriously rich, swimming in a deep cabernet reduction that coated each bite. The underdog of the night with its fall-apart tenderness. For sides, the organic carrots were fresh and fragrant, and the french fries were golden and addictively seasoned. Dessert arrived in style. The flourless chocolate cake was everything a chocolate cake should be—dense, fudgy, unapologetically rich. The strawberry cheesecake was silky and tangy, playing the perfect counterpoint. Both were a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. American Cut doesn’t reinvent the steakhouse—it refines it, amplifies it, and executes it with precision. From the kitchen to the floor, it’s a well-oiled machine of hospitality and craftsmanship.

Really interesting/modern take on a traditional steakhouse experience. Great dishes and really nice service. Only minor complaints: some dishes (ex - hen of the woods mushroom) are cooked with way too much better or oil, the fire burst effect when your steak arrives is fun but it makes the restaurant hot and your clothes smell, the sides should be bigger given the price tag. The steak is superbly prepared, a true standout. Also really, really loved the “bagel seasoning” table bread.

I really liked the ambiance, and the staff were kind and attentive. The food was good (went for restaurant week). Don’t think it was great. The complimentary biscuit and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are a really nice touch. Loved the biscuit, haven’t had the cookie yet. Caesar salad was delicious. The filet mignon was a tiny bit salty and didn’t have a ton of flavor. It wasn’t quite as tender as I like but still good, took home leftovers. The asparagus and spinach were fine but also not a ton of flavor. My friend got the burger and a couple of the potato sides and seemed to enjoy all of her food. Neither of us tried the cocktails. The cheesecake was yummy and my friend liked the Cracker Jack ice cream dessert. Overall, a cute, comfortable place and the food hit the spot!

The steak (American wagyu) was fine—but for $110, it should have been good. The server kept trying to upsell on everything which wasn’t the most hospitable experience.

Let me start out by saying I do not write a ton of reviews but if my honest opinion and experience can help the next person that’s why I’m leaving the review. This restaurant was chosen over the good reviews and experiences other people said they had and I didn’t feel like that was how our night went. We came here for Valentine’s Day dinner and it was not the best from the start. We were sat and I could tell immediately either our server was brand new or did not want to serve us. We said we didn’t want drinks. Just water. And proceeded to sell us a bottle of still water that we did not want. When I ordered a soda (coke) it came in no more than a 6 oz glass for $6 a pop. I ordered the salad (one size option) was very unimpressed. It was good but nothing better than a normal restaurant salad. They do not let food sit on your table and took it as soon as they saw me put down my fork and I still had 2/3 of the bowl left. My wife ordered chicken for dinner and it was good, again nothing special. I ordered the filet and honestly have cooked better steak myself. For $60+ I expect to be able to cut my steak with a butter knife and it was not a good cut at all. Nothing special about it. I’ve just had way better steaks and food for far less money. And much better services at other businesses. All in all. It’s decent at best. I wish we would have gone somewhere else but from what we read it looked and sounded promising. We have Both gotten sick to our stomach since we ate there and do not normally have any issues with food at all.

The restaurant has nice decor, but one doesn’t go to a restaurant for just decor. The food was not that great and definitely was not worth the price. The dishes didn’t feel balanced. The skirt steak lacked pronounced flavor and the temperatures were not correct. Please don’t get caught up in being trendy. Stick to the basics of steak with intentional enhancements. It feels as though the steaks lacked the basics. The macaroni was very good! Also the restaurant was really warm. I’ve never had that experience before at a restaurant. I would recommend other steak restaurants around the city.

This is a well regarded steak restaurant. The dry aged bone in steak and NY strip are very good. There are also a comprehensive list of wine. Slightly disappointed that we had to wait for more than 45 mins to be seated at the table, considering that we already made an advanced booking

Great looking restaurant and friendly staff. Our server was nice but seemed a bit dull. He was just going about doing his job. The tableside presentation on the tomahawk is nice but the cut of meat we had was overly fatty. We trimmed about a third of fat. The 10oz filet was good and so were the apps and side. Our evening would have been amazing if we had the server at the adjacent table."

Did not meet expectations for an expansive steak house. The service was outstanding, the ambiance was great, but food could be better. We all ordered steak and short ribs, short ribs were great . I ordered new york strip medium and it came well done, they had to change it. While I was looking at our party eating, was waiting for my stake and drooling. When stake came didn't like the taste and it was very salty. Others in our party wasn't pleased with their stake either. It was nothing special and worth 80 $. We also ordered bacon for appetizer ,the bacon was super salty with lots of sauce that we didn't like. Unfortunately we wouldn't come back for dinner and wouldn't recommend it to others. There lots of other great steak houses in the city!

My most recent visit was so disappointing. I had made a 7pm reservation as an early Valentine’s Day dinner with my boyfriend. We got there around 6:50pm and didn’t get seated until another hour later at 7:45pm. We were told they were “running behind” so we just stood and waited until we finally got a table. I ordered the pastrami ribeye, which I had ordered many times before, but it was 50% inedible. I’m aware that it’s a ribeye, and expected marbling, but it was about 40% pure fat (which was inedible) along one side of the bone, and then on another parts it was tough sinew/muscle, which I could not cut through. Altogether, I was able to eat about 25% of my steak. We appreciated that they offered free dessert for us for having us wait, but my experience was just so underwhelming and I felt so dissatisfied. I was excited to bring my partner, who had never been there before, but I’m afraid that this is the last time as the food is just not held to as high standards as it used to be. Additionally, the fact that we had to wait almost a whole HOUR for a scheduled reservation is just wild to me.

I chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, expecting a special experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. Our reservation was set for 7 PM, and we arrived on time. While waiting near the bar area, we noticed two other parties who arrived after us being seated before us. One couple was also standing near the bar, and another walked in just a few minutes later—both were seated while we continued to wait. This made us feel overlooked, and only after I questioned the host were we finally told we’d be seated next. For appetizers, we ordered the Bone Marrow Escargot, which was disappointing. I expected a rich, flavorful dish, but the escargot was overcooked, with some pieces even burnt. We also ordered the bacon, expecting thick, high-quality cuts, but instead, we received thin slices with what seemed like BBQ sauce—not at all what we had in mind. Another frustrating moment happened when I was still finishing my appetizer. I had just taken a bite of bacon when a staff member came to clear our plates. He was so insistent on taking my plate that I had to quickly eat the last piece just so he could bring out new plates for our steak. This made us feel rushed, as if they were eager to turn the table rather than let us enjoy our meal at a comfortable pace. For our main course, we had the porterhouse. It was good but not particularly memorable—certainly not enough to redeem the overall experience. From the moment we arrived to the service throughout the meal, the experience was disappointing. I had hoped for a special and enjoyable evening, but instead, we left feeling underwhelmed. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for a celebratory occasion, especially given the lackluster service and food quality.

L
Lee Rodriguez

Had a very disappointing experience, went for happy hour to celebrate a new job. I sat at the bar and ordered the happy hour special. The bartender, a Spanish man, long hair and a bad attitude. First he slammed the menus on the bar when he gave it to us. Second: he gave everyone ice in their water but us, third he never checked on us unless we had asked for help. He didn’t realize I knew spanish but he complained to the server about the lack of ice and had an attitude with us the entire time. Overall killed the mood for the entire time we were there. Felt like we were treated “lesser” than due to the happy hour special. Also, the bathrooms are full of mold, and in this occasion the stall in the men’s room was out of order, without another alternative. Overall a horrible experience at such a “posh” place. Steer clear, there’s too much competition in this city to deal with mediocrity.

L
Louise Imbesi

Great setting, service and beautiful place but the one thing they didn’t do right was the steak!! Ordered the pastrami ribeye which was recommended by our waiter. It was more fat than meat and quite small considering we were told it was 20 oz. Will never go back here. If you are a steak house and your steak is terrible, how do you survive? Not even eating my leftovers I’m so disgusted!!

Bathrooms are awful … dirty, cheap soap… not welcoming at all I just don’t want to imagine what’s happening in the kitchen 😳 Staff are awesome but food is just okay - I only liked jalapeño mashed potatoes and potatoes skin. It’s not good place to get your steaks 🥩 I’m not sure why it’s so popular but wouldn’t go ever again Strawberry cheesecake was good too Bread and butter was good too

1/30/2024 6:30pm party of 4. Arguably one of the worst dining experience I've had in years. I don't frequent this restaurant but have been here a few times in the past and it's sad to say that it come down to this. This place is definitely missing some of the most basic fundamental hospitality. I usually have high tolerance when it comes to dining out because human being do make mistakes but what I despise is a server(B.V) with an attitude. It felt like he was doing us a favor for being our server. The front house staffs should definitely be better trained. Always ask before removing plates from the table, it happened twice that they took the plates away while one of us is still working on it. When it comes to foods both our steaks were overcooked, mac & cheese was hard and dry, burger was under seasoned but the succulent lobster toast, wine by the glass choices and cocktails were highlights of the night. Shortly after our first round of drinks there was a very professional gentleman name Armand presumably one of the managers stop by to greet us but for the next two hour there was not a single staff come by our table to check on us. Everyone basically just drop the foods and leave and we literally have to flag them down for everything else and it wasn’t even a busy night. If you're charging your guests a premium price then you better give them a premium service, simple as that. On the reservation I stated explicitly that I'll pay for the tab and also kindly reminded the hostess upon arrival but the server just drop the check casually on the table at the end of the meal. Clearly lack of communication! For the other two either manager or sommelier, keep your phone in your pocket! It's very unprofessional to check it in the middle of the dining room repeatedly! Totally a front house management failure from the top and an absolutely regrettable dining experience!

Usually don’t write reviews but this was an upsetting meal. Several pieces of the porterhouse were just inedible… not the expectation for a $180 cut. If you are looking for great steak, would go elsewhere or at the very least, definitely don’t get the porterhouse. Service at the table was fine, no one manned the coat check so had to go to bar to ask someone for help. Atmosphere is fine. Expected more

Y
Yan Gindin

Me and my mate ordered blue cheese martini and BOTH got sick with some food poisoning, stomach cramp, diarrhea, the works. Steaks were generous but too fatty, the sauce was too rich and everything was very expensive, $500 for two people!!!. I do no recommend this place.

We had a very poor experience at American Cut! The service was horrendous. To start, when we arrived and were seated, no one came to our table to give us menus or water or even introduce themselves for at last 20 minutes. Subsequently, no one checked on our table at all throughout the entire meal. We would have liked to order another drink (for example) but we were ignored. We witnessed every table surrounding us have a totally different experience as they were well- tended to. Now in terms of food- We ordered the 40 oz Porterhouse and it was inedible — fatty and you couldn’t even cut through it or chew it. Horrible! And the Valentine’s Day special chocolate mousse was gross! We sent it back and ordered the flourless chocolate cake instead, which we liked. But then the bill comes and we were charged for both desserts. We have dined at numerous steakhouses before, and have never experienced service and quality as poor as this. Very disappointed!
