Opinions de Mariella Pizza New York
I wish I took a picture first before eating their margarita slices. Super delicious with the right amount of tomato sauce and cheese ratio. I always look forward to their food.
Bewt Pizza I had in New York, the Grandma's Pizza is one of the best I've had in my entire life, it's amazing. Can't wait to go back ❤️❤️❤️
I've been coming here for many years. Great neighborhood pizzeria restaurant.
Cute little pizzeria with wonderful pizza! The man who served us was incredibly kind! Definitely recommend!
They've been making pizza at the same spot for over forty years. Yeah, they're good.
Loved this pizza several years ago when I worked in the Time Warner building. I was very sad when they moved. I haven't been able to get to Mariella's during my most recent visits, but it's a pizza spot I still hold very dear to my heart. I hope to be back to enjoy a delicious slice!
I went here back in 2011 so may be diffrent now. I was on hoilday from England and tried pizza all over the city and this blew the others away. The staff was amazing the lady even took a pic of me and my brother taking a pizza out the other and offered to make us pizza to bring back on the plane. If it's the same staff and taste then it's a 5 star and more
YES! This pizza is ah-mazing and we are pizza snobs. Staff were on top of assisting us with things we were looking for. Before we stood up he was throwing toppings up on the counter for us to grab.
Sicilian pizza was amazing we ordered a whole pie and it was fresh and tasty
We are here from Florida for a girl’s weekend and one of us is riding a scooter that needs to be charged. We went into Mariellas, they were so kind and let us plug in for hours!!!! We did order some slices and they were awesome too! 5 stars all day 🍕🍕Thanks guys
I'm very picky when it comes to pizza. But Mariella has quality pizza. The cheese is not excessively oily. The sauce has a good flavor and there is a healthy ratio of cheese to sauce. And the crust is just right.
Really nice pizzeria. Clean and organized. Very friendly service and awesome pizza itself. I've rarely seen the perfect balance if crust cheese and sauce like this.
I've been going there for over 20 years now. The staff are always sweet and their food is great. Not cheap on toppings, good portions on salads and pasts and reasonable prices.
I love pizza, had it all over the world yes including Napals Italy where it originated. This by far is some of the best Pizza I've had! It was legendary... Can't wait to go back to New York for some delicious pie!
Got two grandma slices for around $8 cash. Pretty tasty and quick to be served. Plenty of seating
It's the only Pizza place in the area. Their regular pie isn't the greatest, but their Grandma, Sicilian and white slice are absolutely phenomenal. Bit pricey, but it's the upper east side, what can you expect. Be grateful that pizza even exists in that location.
Old school but it the only place where I can get a great chicken roll
A real neighborhood go-to place with the best pizza and the very best eggplant rigatoni made. I've been going there for years, have tried pizza all over the city, but still prefer it to any other pizza place in Manhattan
Pretty good slice, been here a few times. I think they even renovated in the last 10 years. I'm wondering if this place is related at all to the now-closed Mariella Pizza down in Gramercy , their pizza was probably one of the best that ever set foot in Manhattan but this one up on Lex is def mad good too.
Some classics are better than others. These guys have great slices. Subs and salad too, but the pizza is the main draw. Plenty of seating to enjoy. It's a pizza joint. Not fancy but definitely worth it.
Its the Best pizza I have ever had by far, fresh ingredients and outstanding service is what this restaurant is about all about. Flavors are authentic and delicious, if you visit Manhattan you got to stop by here and you will surely have the best pizza NY has to offer. Needless to say, the place looks very clean and neat. Will visit again
I had a veggie slice that was packed with spinach, mushrooms, green peppers onions and black olives. Loved it. It has been such a long time since I ate at Mariella's. The pizza/ pasta dishes are the best around that neighborhood. The first bite brought back warm memories. Reasonably priced too. The veggie slice eats like a meal and is one of the healthiest choices I made this week for lunch.
historic pizzeria run by an Italian family that combines tradition and folklore. During my American period I served myself several times, consuming the pizza 🍕 on the spot and also taking it home
One of the best pizza spots uptown hands down. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and it always tastes just as amazing as i remembered. Clean place with clean bathrooms. Very quick delivery 90% of the time. I work overseas now but every time I’m back in the city, this is what reminds me of home.
Very nice people and pizza is pretty good in terms of quality and size. The crust wasn't too bready nor too thin. A touch on the pricey side. They have a TV inside and ok seating for a quick bite to eat.
Every time I visit NYC, this is always my go-to restaurant for some great food. The restaurant inside besides mariella offers a wide variety of items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all of them tasting absolutely great! The prices are exactly what they should be, and the food is worth the money. The pizza is of good quality, and there are different kinds for whatever you're feeling that day. Overall a wonderful place to sit in and enjoy NYC.
Quick delicious economical FAST! Everyone ate and was happy
Great grandma pie… best I’ve had. Thin crisp crust with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The chicken parmigiana hero was also very good ….tasty crunchy fresh bread and the chicken was tender and fresh. Excellent service.
Great pizza place, fresh ingredients! If you’re in the Central Park area by Bethesda Fountain, this is worth taking a 10-15 minute walk specially when you’re craving for an awesome NY-style pizza. This is not the usual pre-prepared-and-reheated-multiple-times type pizza. Will definitely be back when in the area again.
Best pizza in NYC!!! The service is quick and very friendly. There's a spacious back room where you could sit, eat your food and watch whatever game is on the flat screen TV, If there's a place to sit..
I've been there twice at my trips to NY and when I am next time in NY I will go there again. Got the recommendation 2018 from a guard at the top of the rock and I went for a grandma slice. Very delicious also the other things. We had also another pizza and a chicken inside a pizza (don't know how it's called). It's not the fanciest place but they serve good and affordable food highly recommend to go there!
Really good pizza! Quick service and plenty of seating. Great selection of pizzas and other food items to eat as well. No fountain drinks- bottled only. Would get a slice from here again! Great place to eat if you’re visiting and near Central Park & Ralph’s Coffee….its just a short walk away.
Just had 2 of their Grandmas slices, it was so delicious I wish I had a third slice. Really nice balance of crust sauce and cheese. I could tell their other pizzas were just as yummy. Will come back here again!
Fast and friendly service and the pizza was on point. I would eat hear again. Seating in the back was amply but the little Boba shop across the street had better atmosphere.
Marialla’s Pizza on Lexington Avenue between 70th and 71st has wonderful Italian heros, salads and phenominal Neapolitan and Sicilian Pizzas. Some of guys who work there have been employed since 1976 and if I’m correct, one of their newer bakers has been working at Mariella’s for 25 years! The restaurant has a large dining room and a very loyal clientele. It’s a very popular restaurant for families since children love their pizzas!
Your pizza is the best. I love it. It is so yummy and tasty Hana.
We were just about to leave Manhattan to go and catch our flight back to London, but we decided to stop here. My God, what a pizza guys! Wait, we are Italians and, I have to say, it's absolutely something we'll never forget. More importantly, the staff, and especially Vincenzo, went the extra mile to put the cherry on the cake and made us fall in love with Mariella Pizza! Grazie ancora di tutto Vincenzo! We'll be back! Per gli italiani: non esitate neanche un secondo! La pizza merita veramente tantissimo! Go for the "Siciliana" guys!
While exploring Central Park with my family and children, our stomachs began to rumble, prompting us to seek out a delightful eatery nearby. We stumbled upon this hidden gem and decided to give it a try. I ordered a Grandma square pizza and a large pie to enjoy there, and I have to say, the Grandma square was one of the best pizzas I’ve tasted in quite some time. Its rich, savory flavors and perfectly crispy crust made for an unforgettable dining experience amidst the vibrant park atmosphere.
WOAW ! What can I say else ? Amazing pizzas, didn’t knew were we would ate, and we found this pizzeria and WOAW again, amazing food, affordable and just one slice can get you full 😹 they’re truly generous but if you listen to your belly like us, be sure to unbuckle your pants and have nap time after 😹😹 thanks again to this wonderful men who made the best pizzas so far !
I rarely write positive reviews unless I am extremely impressed. This place earned a positive review from me!!! I Ordered an eggplant parm here after my eye exam appointment. My food was ready when I arrived and was still hot! I decided to eat in the back area which was cozy with more than enough seating. This pizzeria made one of the best eggplant parm I've ever had. I strongly recommend this pizzeria.
We were looking for a restaurant to eat quickly after our visit to the Central Park, and I said NY is well known because of its pizzas and we found this place. Amazing food! The pepperoni pizza was really good. The garlic with with mozzarella was a surprise it was huge :) The chicken salad with Italian dressing was absolutely refreshing and it tastes perfect for a hot day. The service was nice and fast.
Have only tried there Pizza. But it is decent. Crust not too thick nor too thin. Greasy but also I think that there seems to be more sauce than cheese. 1-10, I give it a 7.
Good Late Night Slices but not worth it sober. Very limited English staff which is fine but hard to order. I was up charged for not being a local. So overall good place to stumble to but not to seek it out.
Is increasingly becoming our go to slice in the area. Little Vincent's is good as well but I think Mariella's may have beat them out. The crust, sauce, and toppings are all quality.
Cheap NY pizza but it is one of the only fast place to eat near the Met. Definitely recommend it for a quick bite if in the area.
It’s a good pizza place that’s closest to Central Park from the 72nd street entrance. I ordered the pizza on my way from the park with the kids and it was ready for us when we arrived- which made it easier with little ones.
The pizza is great, the staff is friendly. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that an attendant is needed to clean dining area. You can't rely on your customers to clean up behind themselves because THEY DON'T.
Our waitress--Paige--bordered on rude. No personality. Not very attentive. Made us feel uncomfortable. Would I go back? Maybe. Although we loved the food, the atmosphere and price really ruined for us
Great tasting slices but the atmosphere felt a little chaotic when the staff were picking out customers to help; there was not a clear line. I am looking forward to trying it again another time to see how the experience improves.
I was visiting NYC from California and waow I wasn't expecting anything out of this world but the cheese slice I had was delicious. I dont know what it was but I tasted a difference in the cheese compared to what I've had anywhere else in the country. Maybe it was because I was really hungry but I'll definitely be coming back. Only thing I suggest is keeping the place cleaner.
Love the service and especially the vibe of the place, really cute dining area in the back. Pizza was solid, but nothing special.
Good pizza but not all of the workers are nice to everyone, but what can you expect from the UES
Pizza taste good. Nice and crunchy crust. Good sauce and cheese. Great value, same price for a slice as in Queens, $2.25 a slice. Good place to hang out after class if your a student. Place is probably not authentic Italian but the food taste good.
I got hungry in Central Park and quickly consulted Google maps for a location and found this. My girlfriendb and I both enjoyed our pizza with the prices not being unfair for city prices. The slices are very good and has a pizza joint atmosphere that you could want. Id recommend this place for a quick bite for lunch or if you need a snack.
This place was my first experience of true legitimate New York style pizza. I'm not going to lie, I was a little surprised the process of how you go about getting a slice of New York style pizza. The pieces already made and has been cooked a little and is sitting out, it just needs to be selected by you, and then thrown in the oven for a little bit to be warm back up. All in all, I'm not going to lie, the pizza was good has hack! Definitely different from Chicago style, but every bit just is enjoyable. As a side note, the only thing I can suggest is for cousin Vinny to purchase and utilize a belt, and to get in touch with one of the local waxing joints, and get that whole mess taken care of.....
The family and I stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. Owner and staff very nice, a large pep pizza was served in less than 10 minutes, 4 sodas, 2 beers for $35. Pizza tasted great with an excellent crust. Would definitely go back and recommend. .
A satisfying pizza experience! Mariella Pizza delivers a fresh, quick, and filling pizza by the slice or by the pie. The have a wide variety. The supreme and Hawaiian were right on point. The staff is also pretty friendly. Would visit them again To try their other toppings
Good lunch spot. They have 2 big screen TVs. But it's always showing soccer!. There are other sports but it looks like the TVs are for the workers. A little baseball or ESPN wouldn't hurt.
This is a nice little clean pizzeria in the upper east side. I like coming here when I feel nostalgic as I used to eat at Mariellas when they were across the street from Bloomingdales years ago. I wouldn't give the pizza a 10 out of 10 but it's an excellent and tasty slice. I also enjoy their house salad with chicken. A bit pricey but tasty. Service is fast and friendly.
The restaurant was clean and orderly and looked nice. Employees addressed me quickly and politely and I got my food quickly. I order 2 Sicilian slices and they were very good. The crust was crispy and crunchy, but not hard. It was light and chewy. The sauce was favorable and didn't make the slices soggy at all. The cheese, though, didn't melt quite too well during the reheating, so that was just a tad bit troublesome. Regardless I enjoyed the food and would definently come back!
PRETTY GOOD….PIZZA 😋 For those familiar with my work, it’s common knowledge that I like stuffing my face with pizza. I mean who doesn’t but I REALLY enjoy a mouthful of Za. That’s what led me to Mariella Pizza. Certainly not the best pizza on Earth (that’s for italy) but certainly nothing to complain about. I like it. I ordered 2 slices and sat next to some NYPD Police Officers. There were plenty of open seats but I wanted to be safe 👮♂️ THANK YOU PIZZA MAN 👨
$4 is high for this one. This is basically a slice of grilled cheese. And burned on the bottom to boot. Medium thin, chewy crust, with a crispy, airy edge and good flavor. Kind of dry though. You need something to drink with this. Can't tell you what kind of seasoning is in the sauce, because I can't find any. In fact, can't taste any sauce whatsoever. This slice is... Okay. Give it a rating of 83.
7/24/21. On the way to Central Park, I delighted myself and friends to the meatball parmigiana!! THE BEST!! 3 hrs later it was still warm, to sink your teeth through the toasted crusted bread is the purpose of teeth!! The cheese makes my taste buds sing!! Always a delight!! 12/1/20, THE BEST meatball parmigiana sandwich Ever !! the bread is toasty, the cheese melts around into the marinara sauce that's surrounds the juicy MEATBALLS, How DELICIOUS!!
Pretty bad for a $3.25 slice. The taste isn't there and pretty oily. Everything is taxed even if u pay cash. All in all it just has the "restaurant in Manhattan tax"
A few days ago when my stomach started growling for a pizza,I found it at mariella pizza a staple pizza joint serving pizzas since the 60's.I picked the margherita while it's thin crusted, naples style it was tasty but not as the old days,I found it's tomato sauce a bit way too sugary abit stingy on the cheese.
There pizza is good. It bit on pricey side for me. I only go here if I'm in a rush because it close to my job. My coworkers love going to this place for everything.
First timer for a cheese slice. Always check how they do a plain cheese slice because if they mess that up just keep walking. The slice I had literally came out of the oven as I walked in. Tasty, solid three star Manhattan pizza. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it. Lots of room in the back to sit down. Pretty clean place.
Stopped at this place on a whim. It was just ok. It certainly wasn't the worst pizza ever but also was no where near the best. The crust was a little dry. Not a ton of cheese either. But sauce was tasty enough. The staff were helpful, friendly, and attentive. There was plenty of room to sit and eat, with a room in the back as well. Very close to Metro Station too.
Good pizza at a reasonable price, service was very bad. Should at least have a smile and treat customers as they are important people. The guy just talked to me with an angry face, and I was asking him, he went on and talked to another guy, ignoring me
This has some of the best New York style pizza on the upper east side. They have reasonable pies and they sell slices. Updated 2025. The prices have risen, pizzas shrunk and the pizza have changed (the crust is more bread like than pizza crust)…. Change is bad in this case.
Sure the pizza is decent here, one of the better grandma slices out in NYC but...watch out for the inconsistent pricing. I was quoted at $21+ for six slices of the grandma, the guy behind the counter tries to sell me a whole pie and quotes me $23+ for the pie. In what world does this math equate? I implore anyone who visits this establishment to watch the prices carefully.
On Friday, July 11th, I visited this establishment and purchased three slices of pizza — it was the only thing I ate that day. Shortly afterward, I began experiencing severe symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and an upset stomach. These symptoms have persisted, and it’s clear to me that the food I consumed was not safe. Given this experience, I will not be returning. I urge the business to review its food handling and safety procedures, as no customer should have to go through this.
Six guys standing around watching a soccer game and couldn’t be bothered to get me a soda. Acted so stupid saying what? What? Then they do not take a credit card for a soda. Plenty of other places do. Get with the program and the 21st Centurt. The pizza is just ok. Crust bland. Have had much better in town. Also not that clean inside. Won’t be back to this dump.
I stopped in here today and got two cheese slices brought them home and they are so salty and disgusting and their slices are way overpriced. I will never go there again.
Overpriced taste like cardboard. I was so excited to finally get some pizza in my lunch break after a long day on campus and I was so disappointed. The pizza was basically cardboard with a small amount of sauce and cheese. Somehow Hunter Cafeteria has better Pizza!!!!
Expensive place and mediocre pizza taste. There are lots of pizzerias at a fifth of the price and of the same quality. The attitude of the employees is disrespectful and unsatisfactory! Where there are no prices listed on the wall and the employee at the counter refers to the manager, it seems he can throw in a price per person. I did not like it at all, $ 5 for one slice. Excessive! In general, the place is not worth the high price!
Overcharged me - $4 for a regular slice. When the price on their wall menu and paper menu, is completely different. A guy walked in right after me, had the same order, I watched him a cheaper price.
Charged me $4 for chicken on a slice. This is a scam to be frank, I have no issues with them but it is ridiculous to charge me 9 DOLLARS for a singular slice. Not cool.
The food is absolutely disgusting. The pizza is sitting out all day exposed to elements. It's always tasteless and makes you feel horrible after you eat it probably from the flies sitting on it. The atmosphere is busy during the day, but that's just the setup of the business. It's made so you take your food and leave. The service is alright I guess...
Nothing special. $5 for a slice of cheese . Cracker like crust with a sweet tomato base and cheese. Don’t waste your time and money
