We ordered the fish and chips, French onion soup and onion rings. All dishes were lovely. Wait staff were pleasant and helpful. Couldn’t fault anything.
In 10 min. I got burger very tasty sautee spinach Salad quickly before going to theater. Thank Goodness for New York service
Derrick has always been there when i go to O’Briens for drinks! He is very interactive with the crowd! It’s my go-to spot for a drink after a show at Radio City. I’ve always had a good time — dancing or meeting people for interesting conversations!
Popped in for a quick refreshment break and to rest our feet, left 3 hours later having eaten and drank far too many beers
Pint of Guinness, good beef stew, FA Cup semifinals on the telly, what could be better?
Great drinks, fast service, delicious food, awesome bartenders.
One of our first stops whenever in NYC. It's nice when the bartender has not seen you in 6 months an recognizes you as soon as he walks up to you an remembers you. We always meet the nicest people an have some of the greatest conversations at the bar. Go in sit down have rhe best poured fat tire on rhe planet an strike up a conversation with the person beside you!
A nice little pub. It goes pretty far back and there is an upstairs area with a bar as well that can be rented out for events. The atmosphere was good and the drinks were well made. I had a good time.
We stopped in for a few cocktails, the bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable. We had fried pickles and calamari served at bar. We enjoyed our experience.
This is our favorite place to eat on our yearly NYC trip. They always have a seat for you, no matter how busy it seems. The wait staff are fast and friendly. The mixed drinks are delicious and very affordable for the area. The food is just the right size and reminds me of my trip long ago to Ireland.
My girlfriend and I stumbled in here at like 12 am and got a beer plus a shepherds pie. And wow was it delicious, the best shepherds pie we ever had. The people were very nice and friendly too. Really liked the vibe of this place
I go to this bar if my shift runs too long to get a train home or if I'm having after work drinks with my team. Excellent food, brilliant service from the bartender Justin. They've had a live Irish singer every night I've been there, excellent atmosphere
Really friendly bar staff can't remember her name but the lady from Cavan runs a good bar. Food was decent pub grub tasty and enjoyable and went well with the pints. Customers and staff all having a laugh and a chat it was really enjoyable. Easy to forget you are sitting in a bar just off Broadway in New York.
We come to NYC once a year during the holidays and this is by far our favorite Irish pub. We typically get there before the crowd so there's usually no wait. Their drinks are well made and the food is always delish. I highly recommend the shepherds pie or the fish and chips. Both are great.
The food was good, they checked our temperature before letting us in,which is a plus plus , the drinks were Great not water down. Over all, for my first time at a Irish Pub in NEW YORK IT WAS GREAT.
My favorite bar in NYC. They have the best bartender Justin who mans this massive bar solo and you never feel like you have to get his attention to get a drink. Top it off with live music. If you are lucky, you will catch Derek or Alan playing there. Attracts people from all over the world. You meet interesting people from all over.
Wonderful food, honestly though... the best drinks around the block. Definitely come here if u want a good drink. Reasonable prices too. Thanks Peter and Justin for being attentive and informative bar tenders.
Had a blast here after the St. Patrick's Day Parade. The prices were fair for the city, and the wings and onion rings were both very good. Definitely would stop by again next time I'm in the area
Dope staff, excellent service and choice of drinks to choose from with a nice mix of a diverse and friendly crowd. I stopped here while waiting on a friend who was running late, and before you knew it I didn't even have time to get mad at my friend as everyone was nice here. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and recommend this spot.
Great place to eat in NYC, good prices and good service, the BEST French Onion soup I've ever had and the Corn Beef and Cabbage was Fantastic also. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the city.
Best chicken wings of my life. I don’t know what it was… I don’t want to know what it was haha I want those wings to live rent free in my brain forever.
Nice Irish Pub. Good food. Try chicken pot pie, French onion soup and traditional corned beef and cabbage or corned beef sandwich. My only concern is their chicken wings. They are small and don't really have much taste to them. Other than that nice place to hang out with friends. There is a second floor if you need more room.
Great food. We shared the corned beef and cabbage. Wait staff not as attentive as we are used to. Had to get her attention to get drink refills. Walking distance to Times Square.
We really liked the food and ambiance there! Nice. Live group, food and beer is great!
Liked the ambience and food. Although the food (ordered a shepherd's pie) was not something to go for, the burgers that my friends ordered seemed pretty good as they liked it. Do yourself a favor and order from the selection of burgers. If you're coming here from other parts of the States then you may find the service a little rude but I find it like this everywhere in NYC especially during weekdays when restaurants try to cut corners by having only one or two waiters/waitresses and all the burden of the work gets onto their sholders.
The food was good, a bit salty IMO but the staff was nice. We wanted to sit outside upstairs but it was 95 degrees so we opted to stay in the air conditioning.
Having the Drew Barrymore Rose at O’Brien’s (because growing up I was told I look like her and we’re the same age) and it’s decent. Nice spot...cozy and friendly.
Great spot, with great food and cigar smoker friendly..
It was very good, they make the best spicy margaritas that I ever had. Next time we go we will try the food.
Great atmosphere. Good food and a good place for a Guinness.
Came in from Chicago to go to a Yankee game the next day. Found this place walking from hotel. Serve was very pleasant. Food was even better. Glad we found this place. Love the atmosphere.
One of the many friendly Irish pubs around Times Square. Friendly staff and Average pub food. Generally safe. You can get a Wiff of weed sometimes as more and more people consume weed in North America. Not my personal favourite smell. Touristy YES Big Time! Also stick to the 14 to 16 oz pint beers ... check for prices for shots and other drinks before you shoot yourself when you get the bill lol Welcome to USA.
We ordered the beef biscuit sandwich and the O’Brien burger. Both were really good and the burger was cooked to specification (medium). This was a fun little place to relax with dinner and a few beers after a long day of sightseeing. The server was friendly, but had to wave her down to get drinks, the check, etc. The food was served quickly.
Review from someone who does not drink. Was at an open bar private party. The service is exceptional, and hearing from my friends the drinks are very strong. If I had to host a drinky party, I would probably do this place again. I didn't see the bill but heard it was pretty well priced.
Service was great, food was a little bland BUT the french fries were the best I've ever had. The perfect crunch, taste, salt, and heat. Seriously if the fries are always that good they should make that their front and center special every day.
A darling bartendress, decent bar food, and a well-rounded draft list made an afternoon of waiting bearable. A very friendly regular made room for us at the bar, or we'd have been split up. I'd give the place 3 stars because it's fine, but it gets 4 stars for the customers.
Great, friendly service. Can get a bit slow when crowded, but understandable. Food was good. Note: the "flatbread" is not flatbread. It's more like deep dish pizza. Onion soup superb. Derrek Dempsey was singing and playing guitar...rocked the house! Great musical artist!
Stopped in for lunch. Had clam chowder and fish and chips. Chowder was outstanding! F&C was pretty good too and a generous portion. Great service. I'd definitely go back.
Good atmosphere, service is great. Shepherds pie is not good at all.
For busy spot, not that bad. Little short on ice though
I went here for the first time with my boss to celebrate his birthday. We decided to get a couple of beers and were upset that they did not have beer from either the Bronx or Brooklyn Brewery but we decided to get some Blue Moons instead. We had wings and sliders which were moderate and the bartender did a good job but forgot our order a couple of times. Overall, I like the location being that it is near Times Square and that they have a couple of big screens TVs to catch the games and good music. If your nearby if wouldn't hurt to pay them visit. Cheers!
This is an Irish pub right off Broadway, close to many theatres. Honestly, it is an average pub of this kind in midtown. Do not expect anything extraordinary, it is just a standard eatery and a watering hole. Various beers are on tap and pub-like food in their menu. Staff is attentive and friendly.
This is a nice bar. They have a wide range of beers. They didn't have one of my favorite beers which is Yuengling but theres a couple others that I have never tried that were good. They also have a kitchen with Irish favorite and other traditional bar foods. The atmosphere is good, not loud and not a roudy croud. This place a no loose situation. If you've been walking times square and would like break and a good cold freshing beer along with a meal This is a good place to go.
My husband had the burger and fries. The fries were hard and the burger was overcooked and tasteless. I had the shepherds pie and the house brewed ale - the shepherds pie was dry and lukewarm, the beer was odd tasting with an unpleasant aftertaste - I ended up with food poisoning... this was the only meal I had all day so the jury is out in O'Briens for me... might have just been a one off but definitely a poopy experience all in all.
They sat us at a table very fast but the wait staff was not very friendly and the food was not great. My friend had to send her food back because it was too salty. The building is very hard to navigate since it is very narrow. It was neat to see the two bars in the building though.
Stopped in here to grab some lunch and I won't be stopping in again. The tiny room they packed us into was claustrophobia inducing and far too toasty. The iced tea some of us got tasted very strange. It wasn't flavored, but it tasted super off. The fish and chips were decent at least. A little greasy and the breading was a bit thick, but it was edible.
I stopped with 2 friends for irish coffee and cheese cake at 3 p.m. We passed 2 empty tables, no line at the door. Ordered 3 irish coffees and 3 cheese cake. We were asked to leave. They couldn't tie up a table for dessert. Keep in mind no line at door and empty tables. We won't be back. Ps we ate there the night before. Good food. Terrible service. The noise is incredible.
Worst service and the manager in the Daytime Dez has 0 customer service skills. He is very rude and even called me names. He should not be managing a bar in Manhattan the way he treats patrons. Don't waste your time here please go to one of the bars next door you will have a way better experience !
Top of the morning governors. This place is blimey, I tell ya. And this ain't no leprechaun trying to fool ya for a pot of gold. Oh no. Let's just say the happy hour prices were advertised outside and the waitress told us that it wasn't happening. Which was exactly contrary to what other wait staff said. Bloody hell. Then she was rude, about...well...everything. Bad attitude, bad service, and she could barely get the order right. I wouldn't be advising this place, but on the other hand the fries were pretty tasty. Probably seasoned with salty tears of former customers.
Walked in from the pouring rain to be met by a disinterested waitress who told us we couldn't sit at one of the (VERY) empty tables, and there was no space at the bar. Literally told us to go elsewhere and at that point more than happy to. Go to one of the other friendlier bars. Don't waste your time here.
