So much bad pizza in NYC these days it's refreshing to have a good slice. I got the GMA and upsidedown absolutely fire.
Quaint little Pizza place off of West End Ave. I have tried almost every slice there and they are all good. I would highly recommend it if you are in the area
Love this place! Friendly staff, warm environment in a great area—and the pizza is delicious. The square pepperoni is where it’s at.
Stopped by randomly for some slices and finally got out of there after the 3rd course plus one of the best ice pops I’ve ever had!!! The service was definitely the highlight for my daughter she is convinced that the pizzaman is now her best friend!!! We will definitely be back…
Love the massive windows, lots of sun in the late afternoonj. Pizza is great. Easy and quick service. Favs: buffalo slice, margherita slice, mushroom slice, bbq wings, Kalewa salad, and chicken roll.
The pepperoni spicy honey pizza is amazing! Sweet and spicy that’s what I like! The place itself is very clean and nicely done. They also have deserts if you have room after their delicious pizza! It’s next to the little park area so you can sit outside at the table and enjoy a beautiful day and stay inside during the winter time as it has plenty of space inside. Great service too!
Just great slices - the “John Snow” is now my favorite along with the classic plain cheese - thin and just about right crispiness - place is very well taken care and always clean - a great option for an upscale neighborhood - the mushroom with truffle oil is also pretty good - pepperoni too and I guess all others we have tried so far were good - great service and that has been improving - not the rude type of service we get in nyc at most pizza places - what else do you need? Also tried a few of their plates as they have some other dishes, but honestly always go for the pizza- once tried the chicken wings, which were good but would suggest they make with smaller pieces...
Finally open! The pizza is great here. The crust is just the right crispiness. I love the taste of the pizza and the variety. We met the owners and staff; very friendly and attentive. The space is large for the area with plenty of tables. Room enough for families. The prices are fair, and specially for NYC. Definitely give it a shot. I have added pictures of the menu. It’s a small family owned business, so help support. One note though - small pizza is not worth the price. It’s smaller than two slices that you could buy for less.
Kind of skimpy for $3.80. Undersized, if you're hungry before you get it you'll be hungry after also. Short on cheese. Sauce has good flavor,. Thin, somewhat gummy crust with a crispy edge. An okay slice, but not something I would go out of my way for. Giving it an 82.
Stopped here to get a slice of pepperoni pizza while riding my bike on the west side trail. Small inside with 1 big community table going the length of the pizza. Along the windows was a counter with high chairs. Pizza was good, also sell Brooklyn draft & bottle beers. Young guy who takes your order seemed like he was mad & didn’t want to be there, not very friendly. Would stop there again if in the area.
I sent my adult son to pick up dinner for his grandma, the service was horrible! They made him wait 20 minutes for a slice of pizza and chicken parmigiana sandwich. Whenever my son asked what was taking so long the workers would give him an annoyed look as if he was bothering them for even asking about his food. Finally when his food was ready none of the workers even apologized or explained why it took so long. Unfortunately, I would never recommend this place to anyone! I live in the neighborhood and would much rather go somewhere else where I will get better treatment.
Nice location that should have potential - but falls flat off a cliff. The pizza we had tasted like someone subbed salt for yeast in their dough - it was like drinking from the ocean. The wait was also very poorly communicated, and dragged on and on with constant excuses - instead of giving us realistic expectations while we waited with our baby and dog.
This was a neighborhood favorite when we moved into the area 3 years ago. Always great pizza and service, and great energy inside. Since then we’ve branched out to a few other local gems. About a year ago we ordered again, and it just fell flat. Dry, hard crust. Lacking flavor. It was giving bad grocery-store-frozen energy (between us questioning if we’d ordered gluten free by mistake… which to be fair to gluten free, would have probably had this pizza beat). We chalked it up to an off night or change in management. Unfortunately we just ordered again tonight…. Exact same order, same issue. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on at Pepperino, but someone should check in. In a city like New York - for this cuisine in particular - I’m shocked this being tolerated by the droves of families flocking there each evening and weekend. The location must make it. As for the pizza, we’ll be walking the hill for better from now on. Just sad it’s come to this.
Ordered a cheese pie. But I was waiting for 40 minutes and I asked why it’s been taking so long. They said there was a health inspection. I’m not sure why they didn’t warn me beforehand and mention that it will take a while for my order to be complete. They ended up giving me a pre-ordered pizza and not a fresh one because I didn’t want to wait another 10-20 minutes since I had kids waiting.
I would love to continue ordering from here but I m not sure why I'm getting a Sicilian slice when I'm ordering a grandma slice. Why is your crust so thick and big? It used to be so good :( so disappointed edit: thank you for your response george, i love your pizza and its quality but i ordered this online and was not able to request a modification. this is also the second time this has happened to me, i thought it was a fluke the first time but this second time was so frustrating.
