Wonderful experience, liked 7 of the 9 tastings, dessert was an extravaganza. Not sure why two dishes were very salty, but overall, wonderful food.

My wife and I celebrated our 18th year wedding anniversary here and the place did not disappoint. The tasting menu was fantastic and the service was impeccable! We had the East Private Room all to ourselves and they treated us like royalty. The tasting menu changes regularly with a vegetarian tasting option—so be aware of that and plan accordingly. The wine options are exquisite with the ability to purchase by the glass or half bottles. In addition, they offer cocktails.

Planned a boys trip specifically to have dinner at Per SE. I was not prepared for the service nor the quality of food I was going to experience. Our server was great she was friendly and very knowledgeable with the plates. Each plate was just amazing as the next. You have an option vegetarian or meat menu. Also there is a dress code is no short sleeve shirts. You don't have to wear a jacket just as long as you have long sleeves. They do offer jackets for the men with short sleeves. Looking forward to my next visit.

An absolutely magical evening at Per Se, thanks to our incredible attendant Jamie! My friend and I had a truly exceptional dining experience at Per Se. The service was above and beyond; our main attendant, Jamie, was so charming and thoughtful throughout the entire evening. It felt like we had a personal tour guide through our meal, which made the experience even more special, especially for my friend who was visiting for the first time. We both have a lot of dietary restrictions, and dining out can often be a challenge. However, the chefs and staff at Per Se navigated all of our needs with such incredible ease and grace. It was so appreciated to feel completely cared for and to be able to enjoy every single course without a worry. The biggest surprise came at the end of the night when they presented my friend Shannon with an engraved bottle of champagne and chocolates for her 40th birthday. It was such a beautiful, unexpected, and generous gesture that made an already perfect evening truly unforgettable. Thank you again, Jamie and the entire team at Per Se, for a spectacular experience. We can't wait to come back!

Per Se’s three Michelin star standing is without a doubt justified by the exceptional quality of both its cuisine and service. The food overall was exceptional. Many of the signature dishes, such as the "Oyster & Pearl" and "The Egg," were masterful, as were the amuse bouche and other appetizers. The textures, the combination of flavors and how intense they were, everything at this point was impeccable. And of course the famous dessert spread was an amazing treat that deserves all its accolades. Many fine dining restaurants have stunning and wonderful desserts that end the night on a high note, but few deliver it in such excess that you can continue to enjoy it the next day. And the assortment of bon bons, I’m typically not the biggest fan but the ones here can only be described as the best dessert/sweets I had all year long and nothing will change my mind on that. It is with the dessert course that Per Se has become the most memorable dining experience I had in 2025. My only feedback concerns the main courses. Of these, the quail stood out the most as the most complete composition. While the venison, lobster, and halibut (presented in that descending order of preference) were of high quality, each lacked a degree of refinement, specifically in either texture or depth of flavor. I understand that Per Se has a reputation for being the pinnacle of classic fine dining (not to say these dishes weren’t delightful), but I have encountered more memorable or fully realized executions of these classic preparations at other establishments. They do not immediately stand out when reflecting on comparable dishes experienced this year. Unfortunately, the only dish I would think of first when asked about "Quail" is the one at Per Se. As for the service, it was a great night, though it felt slightly impersonal at times (not an issue, as I personally care more about the food). However, towards the end, many of the staff made me feel special and welcomed me with a beautiful little cake to celebrate my birthday, the invitation to visit the kitchen to see where the magic happens, and a signed menu of the dishes that night. There were many others celebrating a special event or milestone that night, but I still felt important and valued, which is greatly appreciated. In short, I will be doing everything I can to bring the ones I care about to Per Se so they can share the food and experience I had. But Per Se is not without its minor weaknesses. .

Dining at Per Se was an unmatchable experience—one of those nights that reminds you why great restaurants matter. My wife and I went for dinner and enjoyed two incredible bottles of wine, a Barolo and a St. Georges Nuits, both perfectly paired with the flow of the tasting menu. What really sets Per Se apart is how every single element on the plate has its own voice. Each bite delivers a completely unique taste identity—nothing blends into the background, nothing feels repeated. It’s precision, creativity, and balance at the highest level. Yes, it’s a splurge, but this was time and money exceptionally well spent. Between the service, the atmosphere, the wines, and those unforgettable flavors, Per Se delivers an evening you’ll carry with you for a long time.

Phenomenal experience dining at Per Se. While it is a tasting menu, there were options to accommodate to our preferences and desires. My husband and I are not fans of tasting menus as a whole, but I have to stay every dish was out of this world. The highlight of our experience were the staff. While extremely professional and adhered to the highest quality of serving standards, they adapted to our style of conversation and pace of eating. They were engaging and made our night that much better!

What an incredible evening at Per Se. Last year my partner and I were celebrating our anniversary here and it was truly meaningful. Each dish was a masterpiece, the staff were exceptionally gracious, and the behind-the-scenes kitchen tour added an extra layer of wonder to the night. Absolute perfection. Thank you to everyone for making it so special — we can’t wait to visit again :)

This is my first time at Per Se so I don't have any prior experience to compare to. I was wavering a bit on whether to go or not based on some recent reviews, but decided to go and am very glad I did. Everything about the night was perfect. Service was truly impeccable from beginning to end. Food was excellent with a nice mix of flavors and portions were generous. Yes, it is expensive, but at the end of the night, I felt it was absolutely worth it.

We celebrated a birthday at Per Se two years ago and absolutely loved the experience. For some reason, I never wrote a review until now — but it truly deserves one. The techniques were impressive, and the ingredients were of the highest quality. The finale with the dessert table was unforgettable! That said, the restaurant itself could use a renovation — the carpets and overall décor feel a bit outdated and don’t quite match the level of a modern fine dining restaurant. Still, the food remains absolutely fantastic. Thank you to the team for such a memorable evening! Highly recommend.

Every dish was spot on. They are accurate and precise. The caviar echos with other ingredients in its dish, instead of a hard add-on that says “okay, now you have your caviar”. The dishes are very classy, and these dishes become common in other Michelin restaurants, but per se’s twists still stand out. The two meat dishes were simple but so delicious, for the first time after visiting tens of Michelins I feel the meat courses are not just positional but nicely executed and impressive. The grand finale of desserts is a bit too much. The interior of the restaurant could use some updates, as they have been Michelin three stars for decades. The new year ring was very much fun and nice. Memories were made.

I went alone for my birthday bc Im far from home and my flight was delayed so ai decided to visit this place and I really love it. They made me feel like I was with my family. Thanks you all the staff!!! Host, runners, backwaiters servers sommeliers and security staff. All were so nice. The food was superb too. I can’t decide which was more satisfying. I hope I can come back with my family.

I wanted to personally thank everyone at Per Se for our amazing experience last night celebrating our anniversary. The depth of knowledge of the sommelier and server to the attentiveness of all of the team, to the incredible food and truly customized wine pairings were extraordinary. Happy to have had that experience!

We have been to French Laundry and had an opportunity to go to the Per Se cafe and loved it. It was a smaller pre fix menu and to be honest it was the right amount. There some familiar items such as oysters and pearls and ending with amazing desserts. The service was excellent and whole experience was fantastic. Highly recommend

I feel truly honoured to have had the pleasure of dining at this fine establishment. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with hospitality and were sat immediately (no wait at the door). Every little detail of this place was special. The delicious food, the impeccable wine pairings and world-class service makes this place an absolute stand out. I have been fortunate enough to dine at many Michelin star restaurants all over the world, but this place will always have a special place in my heart. It truly does deserve its 3 Michelin star rating! We left happily full from our meal, and they even packaged our dessert course for us to enjoy later at home. Thank you so much for the incredible experience and for making myself and my guest feel so welcomed. 10/10 highly recommend.

An unforgettable dining experience at Per Se, and one that truly lives up to every one of its three Michelin stars. From the moment you step into the main dining room, you’re immersed in elegance, a beautiful, serene setting overlooking the park, elevated further by the warm glow of the fireplace that creates an inviting and refined ambiance. The tasting menu offered both vegetarian and meat/fish options. I chose the vegetarian menu, and it was hands down the most delicious tasting menu I’ve had in a long time. Every dish was thoughtful, balanced, and impeccably executed. The mushroom pie was absolutely out of this world- a luxurious blend of exotic mushrooms, seared to perfection, rich yet incredibly refined. The Doppio Agnolotti with butternut squash emulsion and chestnut confit was a standout as well, a flawless combination of sweetness, depth, and texture. The meat menu was equally impressive. The perfectly seared Mediterranean Lubina and the delicately cooked farmed venison showcased remarkable technique and flavor, leaving nothing to be desired. Service elevated the experience even further. Samantha, our server, was exceptional- warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about every dish, making the meal feel both personal and seamless. Per Se is truly worthy of each and every star. A flawless culinary journey from start to finish, and an experience I will remember for a long time to come.

Background Per Se is synonymous with a rigorously precise, French inspired tasting menu experience. Even its shorter menus are designed to reflect the full philosophy of the kitchen rather than serve as a compromise. Ambience The dining room is dimly lit and serene. While we were not seated in the main dining hall, our table faced the New York skyline, which added a cinematic calm to the evening. The space felt formal yet not stiff, elegant without intimidation. Service Service was impeccable and precise. Staff were attentive without hovering and thoughtful without excess. The presence of a vegetarian menu executed with equal seriousness deserves special praise. Food and drink The four course menu was skilfully crafted and coherent from start to finish. Each plate showed restraint and clarity. The true revelation was the dessert course. It was a masterpiece of balance and whimsy, arguably the most compelling and memorable sequence of the meal. It is one of the best if not the best dessert. Kudos Overall Per Se proves that greatness is not dependent on length or spectacle. Even a shorter menu delivers depth, confidence and emotional payoff.

Per Se impressed me, I ordered the Evolution Menu which came with 19 courses. I found the range of tastes, flavoures throughout the dining experience to be considerate, with culinary ideas on the bolder side. The service was exceptional also, and the location if you can get a window seat overlooking Colombus Circle is very enjoyable also.

As a flagship 3-star establishment, Per Se sets the global industry standard for culinary and service excellence. I brought my family here for a special occasion, and it was a flawless experience. Absolutely worth the price for a life event. The Expert Perspective: My mother was a restaurateur in China, and even as a non-expert in French cuisine, she was shocked by the service execution. She noted that the team’s proactive attention to detail and synchronization are incredibly difficult to train—it is near flawless and justifies the prestige. The Food: While the standard tasting menu is excellent, the culinary technicality is world-class. The flavors and presentation perfectly reflect the level of precision expected of Chef Keller. I’ve met people at luxury hotels worldwide who still talk about their proposals or milestone meals here; it’s a place for core memories. I hope to return in the near future for the "Retrospective" menu, which features the all-star signature dishes that defined the restaurant over the last 20 years.

Per Se? Directly in from of Central Park? A horse ride after dinner? We love Per Se ! ! Delicious, classy, elegant & romance by the fireplace. Excellent food. Excellent service. Beautiful ambiance & location. We had the tasters menu & what a delight it was! Per Se is well deserving of its 3 star Michelin rating! Could Per Se be a candidate or reason a new 4 Star system is created?Orrrr, was that the reason for Michelin removing 1 star from Per Se's neighbor? Masa... Hmmmmm. We shall find out! We highly recommend Per Se!

I can't imagine a much more opulent and elegant way to welcome the New Year. It is said, that you should welcome the new year in the way you would like your Year to be. Cheers to being off to a magnificent start! We also decided to do the recommended wine pairing which was a fantastic choice! Each dish was artfully created. Admittedly, one of my favorite aspects was the very thoughtfully curated gift bag we were sent home with. What a treat to enjoy on New Year's Day! The gift that keeps giving!

It was a wonderful meal! Service was amazing and friendly, the food was so good. They've still got some Per Se classics and honestly, they don't feel aged at all. The staff are all ready to talk, but also know when to walk away. The bourbon milk punch was so good, as well! This place is generally out of my budget, but if I were to dine for a special occasion again, I would definitely come back. I took the worst photos in the world, unfortunately.

Great food and a fun experience but our server forgot a lot of our preferences and it felt old school and stuffy. The servers stumbled over their words a lot when describing the dishes which seemed a bit amateur. I much prefer more approachable and playful fine dining, but it was fine!

Overall, the savory food here isn't on the level of other places in the same tier. Going through the courses one by one: Amuse bouche: Decent. Cesar had a very similar cigarette-like thing with pureed smoked salmon (iirc) that tasted even better though. 2. Oysters and pearls: Delicious. Glad I got the chance to try this out. 3.
Beet salad, cornbread and butter: Honestly the salad itself was like rabbit food; very little of it and it was bland. I’ve had better salads at family restaurants. The bread and butter was delicious but I would have really liked it if they kept it coming throughout the meal like at Le Bernardin! 4. Scallop sashimi with sweet corn sauce: The corn sauce didn’t really go well with the scallop and it was way too sweet. Not a good flavor match. 5. Mashed potatoes, halibut and mushrooms: This was delicious. Only complaint was that they didn’t give us enough! 6. Corn pasta: Maybe the best pasta dish I’ve eaten period. Really blew my mind and made me glad we’re pescatarian since they switched out whatever other dish they had. 7. Lobster with rice: The lobster was surprisingly tough; it could have been cooked a little less, or at a slightly lower temperature. The rice itself was kind of bland. I get they were going for a red pepper taste but it was mild and didn’t really match the lobster at all. Weird dish. Not a good way to end the salty dishes. 8. Palate cleanser: I liked the cheese a lot but the raw celery with a few things on top of it was super weird. Again made me feel like I was eating rabbit food. 9. Dessert: They really pamper you with dessert here. Nothing alone is on the level of a proper rich dessert course (like the chocolate tart at Le Bernardin or the ice cream dishes they give you at Atomix) but all together it goes pretty well. The ice cream was decent, though honestly I could make something better at home. Apple crumble cake was a little dry but it goes well if you eat it with the ice cream. Chocolate tart was delicious. The chocolate pudding that looked like cappuccino goes really well with the donuts, which are perfectly cooked. The little chocolate bites they offer you is probably the best bite of chocolate I’ve ever had period (I got calamansi which blew me away). 10 Treats: They give you a whole chocolate bar for your birthday and the bar itself is maybe the best bar of chocolate I’ve ever tasted and I’ve gotten bars from places like Switzerland. The cookies in the tins were delicious too but it doesn’t seem like you can buy them anywhere unfortunately.

Some amazing dishes and some very average. Service was very friendly but some of the breaks between dishes were certainly too long. I feel that after Alinea, Per Se can be next losing a star. Very good but not great experience.

For a three star michelin restaurant I was overall satisfied but not completely blown away. This was our first restaurant of this caliber so expectations were high. The servers brought different energy to the table, where the main server brought mixed energy through his conversation. The service was clearly scripted and followed to a T. At times it felt like an orchestra and it was awesome to see plates being placed just so. I appreciated that the menu clearly stated that the tip was included in the service so I felt no need to tip extra. The amuse-bouche was confusing. The first one I tried was the salmon cone which they are known for and it was SPECTACULAR. The second one I tried was the korean sweet potato and that felt so out of place being that this is a french restaurant. The third was the oddest, it reminded me of a hotdog but congealed and there was a bit of gristle that I found which was not pleasant. Dare I say spam like. Being that this was not on the menu I am not certain I can really judge them off of this. I opted for the upcharge for the appetizer and I thought it was just ok. It was an everything bagel which I thought was subtle and the cone amuse was much better. The lobster was amazing I never had lobster cooked that way and to that temperature, truly a masterpiece. The bread was pumpernickel which some may find not pleasant but I really appreciated the work that went into making the dough because it was checkered. The butter tasted just fine, I really enjoy french butter so I was left wanting something more from the animal farm butter. The beef short rib was to die for, I would gladly come back for this. The crispy edges, the tender middle, the FLAVOR. Spectacular. The hassleback potato was really flavorful and tender. There was a liver component on top and it really tied the whole dish together. The desserts were just ok. I have had to die for sticky toffee pudding and what was given was just not it. It was however beautifully presented. The gingerbread ice cream was delightful. I love ginger and I loved this. The zebra cake had fresh mint and didn't taste that good. Now, they came around and gave extra dessert which I found delightful. We were given these amazing donuts that I thought tasted like funnel cake and I LOVE funnel cake, this faux cappucino that was ice cream, the creme brulee macron topping was great but the flavor was just plain tasting. Then they brought us MORE dessert, we were given each bon bon which we found the best flavors were PB&J, Passion Fruit and Walnut. As we left we were given a copy of the menu which was cute and we were given these sandwich cookies that had this delicious shortbread with amazing chocolate ganache between them. I had high expectations for 3 stars and Per Se met most of them. We dined in the Salon Lounge and paid $150 deposit for our reservation. Understanding that this was a limited menu, we would love to experience the main dining room's menu, however, I really enjoyed the Salon Lounge atmosphere, decor, and furniture. I only peeked in the main dining hall so perhaps it is even better. We are excited to try Thomas Keller's restaurant in Yountville, The French Laundry with even higher expectations.

Per Se is an all around experience. We celebrated our engagement here and it was truly an unforgettable all around evening. Per Se has been a bucket list item for me for over a decade. The experience did not disappoint - the food, I will say, not every dish was amazing. It is my first 3 star experience so I don’t have a good comparison, but at the price point I expect EVERY dish to blow me away. They also had the largest wine list I have ever seen, they give you a whole iPad to look through! The meal started off so strong with the classic oysters and pearls dish. Seriously this set the bar so high and left me feeling like I will never be the same after this meal lol. It’s been several months since we dined here and looking through my photos, the rest was fairly forgettable. I will note that every dish is truly a work of art, and some were prepped in a way that you couldn’t even imagine food being prepped that way. But again, nothing blew us away in terms of taste. The main meat dishes were nothing special. The dessert was plentiful and very “classic”. Nothing out of the box or super imaginative. We were actually so full by dessert we had a few of them boxed for us to take home. The service is top tier. The staff really made us feel special and everyone was congratulating us on our engagement and it felt truly genuine. The interior and overall vibe feel classic. I read a review it feels dated but it feels so classic NY to me. Overall, it was a special night and a bucket list item crossed off the list. Unforgettable experience for sure but our expectations were set so high that not every dish hit the mark. Thank you to the team at Per Se for a memorable evening!

A memorable meal with family before Christmas. We celebrated my mom's 70th birthday while dining as well. This was our second visit to Per Se and it was consistent with my first visit. While I wasn't blown away this time, the dishes were executed with high degree of skill and technique. This visit just felt average in terms of the menu making an impression. For the price tag I feel like there needs to be a bigger wow factor. The service is impeccable though! I would definitely recommend dining here for a splurge and a special treat.

We celebrated a birthday with a party of eight in the private dining room, and frankly, the experience was underwhelming and a significant decline from my last visit a few years ago. I am genuinely baffled that the restaurant maintains its three Michelin stars. This might be my least favorite 3 stars in the city. Service: The service was extremely slow at the outset. It took an unacceptable amount of time to get our initial drink order in. We eventually had to flag down a staff member to let our server know we were ready to order because no one checked on us for a long time. Furthermore, there were multiple instances where water was splashed during refills and plates were cleared with a jarring amount of noise. It felt unacceptable for a restaurant at this caliber. The private dining room also doesn’t have a tablecloth set up. I can’t believe how they’re okay with that?? Food: The food quality was just "meh" with noticeable issues in seasoning—dishes were either too salty or unbalanced. For the $425 menu price, the choice was limited, and there was a heavy emphasis on expensive, uninspired upgrades. It felt like a conscious effort to nickel-and-dime the customer. There was no single dish memorable enough to warrant a return visit. Overall, the quality has sadly slid, and this was not the three-star experience we expected.
