Amazing Middle Eastern food. Everything on the menu is excellent. A feast of flavors. Attentive staff and great service overall. Good portions and prices. Nice dining space in the back but it’s not really an outdoors space as advertised when trying to reserve a table.
Very affordable relative to other fondue places in NYC with a greater selection of options.
Food absolutely delicious! Healthy and super tasty. Variety of spreads, some recipes I been brought home. Also I like that you can add to your salad any protein - meat, fish, octopus. So I had I believe the best octopus option in the city - salad with grilled octopus, extremely tasty and satisfying. Cozy atmosphere for family dinner, friendly service Highly recommended, better to do reservations
We ordered a large tray of dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) for a party and they were absolutely delicious. The restaurant was a pleasure to deal with. We'll definitely keep them in mind in the future.
Loved the borek. The atmosphere was really classic and homey and the bartender B was so attentive and friendly. She made everyone at the bar feel so comfortable. I had a winter in Manhattan and it was the perfect winter drink. Highly recommend. Want to come back to get the old fashioned cold brew when I need to stay up later.
This place was a great find! Tapas and meze plates could be ordered with 4 or 6 dips, and are great to share with the table. We got the four dip - and the beet skordalia stood out. I got the two skewers plate, (which can be mixed & matched) with lamb and chicken. Lamb was delicious! Chicken was good. It’s a cozy little place with great vibes!
Post-theatre dinner at Kashkaval Gardens, a true hidden gem in Hell’s Kitchen. They have a wonderful Mediterranean menu (+ happy hour from 3-6). We feasted on an assortment of kabobs and squash caponata. Make sure you have a reservation! It was empty when we arrived, but by the time we left, there wasn’t an empty table in the entire restaurant. A shout out to David, THE most entertaining bartender in NYC!
I hosted a party in the semi private back room, which is so lovely, like a private garden. Jeremy was so wonderful and never missed a detail. Every one of my guests commented on how fabulous the food was. Tons of tapas, salmon wrapped in leaves and spectacular desserts. This place is a real gem!
Two work colleagues and I had a fantastic dinner at Kashkaval. We were seated quickly at the bar on a busy night. The service was terrific and our meals were great! Our office is right around the corner and we'll be back the next time we're in town. Thank you!
So good!!!! Some of the absolute best food in NYC. I used to live nearby so I would go here a lot and since I moved to the east side I'm not in the area as much anymore and I miss it! I was hosting a new years day get together at my apt and decided to cater the day with this incredible food and it was AMAZING! Everyone loved the food and Jeremy the mgr made the ordering and delivery so seamless and easy! I definitely recommend this restaurant, and make sure you try the dips and the fondue! SO GOOD
A true gem of Hell’s Kitchen! We loved the quiet, casual, warm vibe and the ability to have a good conversation. My two kids loved the cheese fondue, and butternut squash spread and perfect pita. Every recommendation for food was delicious. Really you need to come here. And thanks Dave for the superb hospitality and memorable service and experience.
This tiny little HK gem is great for a date night. We had a lovely time. The food was seasoned very intentionally, and tasted amazing. The service was sweet, charming and quirky. And the ambience provided a quaint rustic European vibe, which let you feel fully immersed. Definitely make a reservation, because the seating is limited. Check out the Prix-Fixe for 2!!
Had a large 12 person birthday dinner here and no complaints. Food was amazing, loved the fondue and that the restaurant was able to serve fondue to such a large group. The vibes were so cute, someone said they felt it wasn’t in New York City! Reminded me of the fondue restaurants in the Swiss alps. The waiter was so kind and bubbly, and was very nice to add candles and cut and serve the birthday cake.
Since I discovered this gem in 2012, Kashkaval Garden has been one of my favorite restaurants in the city. For more than a decade, I've brought friends and family here, and it has never disappointed the many different palates and expectations. The food is delicious and fresh, the service excellent, the atmosphere warm and cozy, and the prices have remained affordable. Last night I had dinner here before seeing a show on Broadway; it was only a 15min walk to our theater. My friend and I enjoyed the perfectly proportioned pre fixe menu for two.
We visited Kashkaval Garden two weeks in a row, and both times were absolutely amazing. Last week, we enjoyed a delicious truffle cheese fondue paired with a Lambrusco, and our server truly made the evening complete. This week, we were back in New York and couldn’t resist returning to this restaurant. We ended up spending four hours at the table, enjoying cheese boards, pitas, everything was perfect. I was even surprised with a prosecco for my birthday, which made the night extra special. Another top evening, with a special thanks to Hayden. Can’t wait to come back soon!
Such a lovely experience having dinner here. The back room was so cozy but overall the entire place is very nice and cozy. Food was delicious and the mocktails were tasty. They also have a prixe fix that looked great but didn’t have the stomach space for it. Service was awesome and everyone working there is extremely nice and on top of it. We will definitely be coming back!
We happened upon this little gem our last visit to NYC. Very cool atmosphere with an open air front. We were able to get seats at the bar as all the tables were full. It was happy hour and we started with the Four Mezze platter. We chose: babaganoush, Tzaziki, hummus and Turkish Bean Salad which came with 4 warm pitas. This turned out to be our meal as we were pleasantly full and indulged in the chocolate torte for dessert. We would love to go back next time we visit NYC.
Kashkaval Garden is a gem that transports you straight to a warm, comforting kitchen filled with the flavors of home. The food here reminds me of my grandma’s cooking—simple yet deeply flavorful, crafted with love and care. Their dishes like the savory roasted eggplant, stuffed peppers, and hearty lamb kebabs took me back to Bulgaria, evoking memories of family meals and traditional recipes passed down through generations. The kashkaval cheese, perfectly melted into dishes, was a nostalgic highlight. Each bite carried the essence of Bulgarian flavors, making me long for the cozy kitchen where my grandma used to cook. The ambiance, intimate and welcoming, complemented the experience perfectly, making Kashkaval Garden a heartwarming reminder of home.
We had a truly amazing experience here last night from every single bite of food we ate to cocktails and wine (yes, we indulged). Service was spectacular and we had the best seat in the house. We may go back again tonight! Do not miss the grape leaf wrapped salmon. Trust me! Cheese fondue was superb w veggies/fruit. Lamb kabob delicious w the yogurt sauce. Even the sides were extraordinary. Everything was spectacular.

Fantastic menu, with a lovely range of European and Middle Eastern dishes. Loves the fondue particularly. Good wine list and fantastic service.

Samuel was our waiter. He is excellent and entertaining. I had the Fondue and the Autumn Harvest Salad. Fondue was very good but the salad was amazing. I larger variety of meats to go with vegetables and fruit would be amazing. This is a place I recommend checking out. Prices are reasonable.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was decent. The tapas sampler platter was okay, but I would probably opt for something else next time. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, but I was a bit disappointed that we couldn't get a window seat even though the restaurant was close to closing and not very busy. I understand the need to accommodate potential rush after we sat down, but as a former server myself, I would have tried to make the customer happy if possible. Despite this small hiccup, I still had a great experience and would consider returning in the future to try out some other menu items.

We asked our waiter to help us choose the tapas for our sample plate, and he did a wonderful job. We also enjoyed the peppadews (starter) and the grilled octopus (skewer).

⭐ 1/5 — Disappointing Experience Overall Unfortunately, my visit to Kashkaval Garden was quite underwhelming. From the moment we arrived, the host didn’t seem welcoming, which set the tone for the evening. The Fondue for One ($24) was disappointing — it came with just some bread pieces and a small pot of cheese (maybe 4 oz at best). Definitely not filling or worth the price. The Mezze Platter could have been nice since the dips were flavorful, but the pita was dry and not warmed, which made the whole dish fall flat. The biggest letdown was the Lamb Kebab — fatty, overcooked, and so dry it was barely edible. With so many dining options in the neighborhood, this experience was a complete miss. Suggestions for improvement: • A warmer, more welcoming host would make a big difference. • Serve the pita warm and soft to complement the dips. • Rework the kebab recipe — better quality meat and proper cooking would go a long way. • Rethink the “Fondue for One” — it leaves guests hungry; maybe offer sides or larger portions. Overall, a thumbs down from me. I truly hope they make some changes, because the concept has potential, but the execution fell short.
