Opinions de Amore Pizza Cafe New York
The perfect quick slice. Not only is Amore’s Pizza reasonably priced for this side of Manhattan, it’s only steps away from the Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle. Great service and easy self seating. Skip the plain cheese and have the pasta slice or the buffalo chicken but beware, these flavors are for the bold. The cake is not to be forgotten!
My favorite pizza in the neighborhood! So tasty. They have great pastas too with generous portions. Usually do takeout but it's also a nice, lively place to sit down and enjoy a slice.
Get your pizza on right here! I had a Cesar slice, and it was exactly what it was. It's not overbearing and super tasty! They have plenty to choose from and other food to choose from as well...I'll definitely be back. They're super relaxed, and they cater to you! See you there!!!
Although I am not a fan of New York style pizza, this was really good. I dislike the super thin, but this was thicker and really good. Highly recommend you visit and have a slice. Very reasonably priced as well.
One night, last month, a bunch of my friends dressed up in strange regala came in hungry when the Flame Diner across the street was closed. We took over and ordered several different meals and took up all the seats. No matter how outlandishly fabulously gay we looked, we were served with smiles. The vodka pizza was outstanding! The gluten pizza was actually cut with a 7 slicer! On the way out, one person at our party forgot to pay by pure accident, and the guy said that was not paid for very nicely. He he did not yell you did not pay in an accusatory or embarrassingly manner he was low key and it was paid for.
The vodka sauce is great! I got it on the rainbow pizza. Next time I might get just vodka sauce pizza. But the calzones looked amazing, and huge.
Wide variety of pizza available, priced well, and tastes good! Overall, I was very happy with the pizza here. There was so much more variety than most of the other pizzerias that we saw in NYC and there was never a long wait for food. The only criticism I have is that the dining area isn't the cleanest or the biggest, but the food was great and that was enough for us to stop here more than once!
Great pizza, they variety of dishes, pizza, rolls, salads etc Price is decent
The guys here are always super nice and friendly, I always get their pastas and not only are they really good but the portions are also huge. Funnily enough I've never had their pizza, but the pies always look really good and this place has been my go-to for the last few years.
As an out-of-towner and pizza enthusiast I tried dozens of New York slices on my stint in town. There were many great offerings but Amore was hands down the best. Great selection, friendly, fast service, and they make a great pie! According to Google there are 1900 pizzerias in NYC. I obviously haven’t tried them all so I can’t definitively say that they’re the best but there sure as hell can’t be too many that are better! Great job Amore team, your pizza was one of the highlights of my stay in New York! Editing to add their prices are great too!
After a week in the Big Apple and eating multiple slices each day from uptown, downtown and over to Brooklyn. We stopped at Amore Pizza Cafe on night one and tried a slice of pepperoni and a garlic cheese slice both scoring high. We Snook back 30 mins before our airport transfer 02.01.25 and that confirmed in my opinion the best pizza South of 74th Street!
This is my go-to place. But the experience is what matters. Today they made a small and very understandable mistake on one of my orders, but it still affected the total flavor and everything, including things I can't eat in large quantities. They replaced my medium sized pie with a large. That is a beautiful. I've been around the area and this is the best Penne Ala Vodka slice.
Loads of variety beyond pizza but don’t come here if you aren’t going to have at least one slice! So many speciality pizzas that it’s difficult to choose which one you want. Pricing is reasonable for the size and quantity of toppings you get. Will definitely be coming back in the future!
The pizzas and salads are fresh and fully loaded with lots of chicken. A $10 salad was filling to last for 5 hours. There were perfectly cooked shitake mushrooms and alfredo sauce on one pizza, $4.5 per slice. There was plenty of Caesar salad dressing given, and it was not sweet, thankfully. There is plenty of outdoor seating, and the bathroom was clean.
First pizza slice in NYC. Fantastic. Just finished acting in a TV series and wanted some pizza before my trip all night back home. It was great to see the staff have fun with each other and their customers The atmosphere was great, SO many pizza slices to choose from. I have to try them all Will definitely be back on the next trip up there 🤝 Thanks guys!
I was in the area and wanted a slice of pizza because how do you go to New York and not; so I stopped in after reading other reviews. The restaurant is what you'd expect from a pizzeria and the atmosphere is average energy, nothing loud or quiet about it. The service was quick, just like NYC and the prices were on par with what you'd expect. I will admit that after I ate my slice, I did get another because damn it was good. When you've been to so many restaurants in New York, it's hard for a restaurant to stand out but pizza wise but Amore Pizza Cafe does. They're menu has a lot of items on it so you should take your time. However, I believe no matter what you get, it's going to be great. I would definitely recommend Amore Pizza Cafe for the food, the atmosphere and the reasonable priced food.
One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in Manhattan! A must when visiting New York!
So good! Stopped in here late night after the opera with a group once and we all got a bunch of different slices to share and every single one of them was just incredible. Highly recommend the eggplant, but you really can't go wrong, every offering was wonderful.
This spot has figured out what makes dining special. All staff members are naturally pleasant. Their meals are substantial and incredibly tasty. The praise for this place is warranted. I'll be back at this place in no time!
My 12yo said it was the best pizza he has ever had!! There was a lot of variety, we had a pesto slice, a buffalo chicken, and a classic margarita. All were yummy. The slices were sizable. The man seemed a bit impatient that my kido was undecided at first, but otherwise that was the only real draw back. We would definitely go back.
The pizza was very good. There are about 20 choices of different pizzas, they are not labeled, and difficult to figure out some of them, however the staff was more than willing to help explain what they were.
Absolutely delicious! I didn't believe the hype that NY Pizza was any different but damn I stand corrected. We hit up about a half-dozen pizza restaurants in the city on our trip and Amoré was the best of them all. Each pizza had a slight touch of uniqueness that went further than just toppings. For example, the spinach pizza definitely had hits of butter that just melted within each bite. Topping proportions were perfect and portions, huge. My kids loved it as well, and pushed limits of their appetites that they did not know they had before. Staff was friendly and fast. Five stars, this place is a must-try! Location near Central Park makes it great to grab a box and find a place to sit in the park to enjoy.
One of my favorite pizza places in NYC! It's very close to my college campus, and the different pizzas to choose from are amazing! They also have pasta, appetizers, and much more! The food comes out very fast as well.
Went there last night and they were nice enough to reopen the kitchen and make me a pasta dish. It was well packed and the attention to detail on the butter packets and also packing extra cheese in a little baggie. It was perfect. Pasta was delicious also. Highly recommended. I will also return to try their pizzas. They all looked so good.
The Amore Pizza Café in New York was a fantastic find and I’d happily go back. We originally picked four slices, but the employee at the counter suggested we try one more slice with a chipotle-style topping, and we’re glad we listened – all five slices were absolutely awesome. The crust, sauce, and toppings were all full of flavor and really well balanced. The employees were all top notch – friendly, helpful, and clearly proud of their food. Their recommendation made our visit even better, and the service felt warm and genuine. I really recommend this place to anyone looking for great pizza in New York. Tasty slices, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere – definitely worth a visit!
A block away from Columbus Circle... ample seating inside...variety of pizza choices.... The crust is old school like from the 1980s.... thin and soft crust...n the pizza itself tastes delicious....very expensive though..... but i will definitely visit again when I'm in the area. :)
I discovered this pizzeria after picking up here on a delivery. I dropped it off to a local doorman and he shared a slice of his ham pizza. It was delicious and I have been hooked since. In the shop they have a variety of pizza options but never ham only. I really wish they would serve that too. However Amore is the best.
Amore Pizza Cafe offers a delicious variety of pizzas, sure to impress even the pickiest eaters. There are so many delicious options it's hard to pick just one. In our quest to try lots of New York pizza during our trip, this one ranked up at the top. There are a few tables available for dining in. Highly recommend this cafe.
Amore Pizza Cafe serves some of the most delicious pizza slices I’ve had in NYC — truly among the best! The flavors and quality were outstanding, making it a must-visit for any pizza lover. Beyond the amazing food, the staff went above and beyond with their kindness. I accidentally left some important documents at the store and rushed back after half an hour, only to find that the staff had kept them safe for me. Their attentiveness and integrity made my experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the exceptional service!
We were visiting New York the day before a New England/Canada 7 day cruise. There were people eating pizza at the hotel when we checked in. We asked them if there was a place close by to eat. They told us about Amore, 2 blocks from the hotel. They said you have to try the Chicken Caesar Salad pizza. We ordered a small pizza, and I can't stop talking about this pizza. I was apprehensive considering that it's a pizza and it will be baked. The pizza was amazing and one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. I describe it as a salad on top of thin garlic bread. The Caesar dressing was phenomenal and perfection for the pizza. We decided to take a piece of Raspberry Cheesecake back to our hotel for a snack later. Their selection of cheesecakes make you drool over the display case. The cheesecake was definitely New York style and so delicious. I would visit NY City just to be able to have that pizza and any slice of cheesecake. The inside was small, lacking much seating, but the food made up for the atmosphere shortcomings.
I just had the most amazing pizza at Amore Pizza Cafe! There are no long lines and plenty of seating. The vibe is fast-casual and the staff is incredibly friendly. I can't get over how delicious the pizza is and it’s not over priced. I’ve gotten several different slices from here before and my favorite is the white cheese by far (it’s loaded with a ton of cheese). If you're a pizza lover like me, you've got to check this place out for a classic New York slice. Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!
The pizza here is actually delicious! Thin crust with a delicious sauce. You definitely get a delicious slice here. The menu is actually quite extensive but everyone in here just orders pizza. Lots of windows and a crowded sitting area. The 🍅 slice tasted so fresh. I loved it. I wish they had fountain coke though. I hate bottled soda.
Plenty of nice unique options (20+), such as the Phillycheese steak pizza and lasagna, good taste and nice texture. Prices are decent at about 4.75 for a specialty slice and 3-4 for most others. The crust was crunchy with a decent chew. They have ample indoor seating. We got the Phillycheese steak, lasagna, pepperoni and pepperoni. All of them were pretty good and enjoyable.
While I think the specialty pizza is excellent, they just raised prices for it by 40%! From 5.40 to 7.50. This is beyond an outrageous price increase. If they did a $1, I'd respect it. But $2? Fuhgeddaboudit! I hope the owner sees this post and walks back the price increase
I was going to get pizza but first I had to go to restroom. I asked for restroom code and the register guy said you gotta get something to use it which was okay. I said to him I will order after I come out but he was mean about it and insisted on ordering first to give me the restroom code. That was not good.
I had high hopes based on the ratings, but unfortunately the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. We ordered the Margherita and the Pepperoni .. the Pepperoni looked like it had been sitting out for hours, and both pizzas had a very doughy, floppy ‘crust’. A bit of a letdown overall. That said, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated!
Okay pizza place. The pizza in itself was nice, pretty cheesy. It was $5, which I feel is pretty expensive compared to other places around the city. Service was fine, I think there was a misunderstanding between employees and they did not take care of our order for a while but that’s okay we sorted it out, though they weren’t very friendly. The atmosphere is okay!
A slice is way overpriced. I got a single slice of just pepperoni, paid cash and it was $6... Insane! Slice was reheated and very greasy. Better options are abundant. A very disappointing experience.
Food quality seems to be good but prepared to take out a mortgage if u eat here Alot you'll spend an easy 15 dollars on two slices of pizza
Though the pizza is decent, the price is not right. You can go to any other pizza place nearby and get the same quality at a better price. The rate at which their prices have risen is inconceivable and is not sustainable if they want to maintain customer loyalty when pizza parlors are a dime a dozen in this town.
Horrible experience. The pizza was ok but what stuck us was how horrible the customer service was. The cashier doesn’t listen and the guy who gave us the pizza had a horrible attitude problem. Our first time getting pizza I went to the cashier first, paid then went to get the pizza which was not the right sequence. I realized and apologized as I wasn’t aware. The guy who was giving me the pizza kept nagging about the order and I apologized 3 times sincerely all the time saying I didn’t know. This was not a very nice way of keeping customers. I get that he might be overworked and underpaid but honestly just mentioning once was enough. The constant nagging was bothersome and unprofessional. I was very courteous and apologetic. Just a small note to do better for your customers who were unaware.
For a slice, NP. I mean how bad can you mess up pizza? But today, first time ordering a sandwich and it was completely off! Ordered a Cuban and got a grilled chicken sandwich with cuban fixings!!? I mean, a cuban sandwich is universally known NOT to have chicken. If you don’t have roasted pork then say so and don’t substitute chicken. I guess they think people are just stupid and won’t notice?! Plus lettuce and tomatoes? Guys, do your research before adding anything to your menu! Not going back as there are ssoooo many pizza joints in the area.
The pizza was soft, not very crisp or able to be held without folding it. I only ordered 1 slice of a pepperoni pizza and was charged $6. ?? Expensive
This facility was not the worst, but also not the best. I did not like the quality of the pizza, and if you are a person of color, they might be very discriminatory towards you. I paid for two slices one for myself, another for my significant other. The cheese slices itself, were very soggy and burnt at the bottom which made it challenging to enjoy. I give the quality of the food a 4/10 it could’ve been better for the price that I paid. As my partner and I were attempting to enjoy our meal, a worker (unsure of his name), had came off to be extremely unpleasant and began harassing my partner to pay for our food even though I had already done so when I placed the order. When I requested for my receipt after we finished our dinner, it nearly felt like the cashier was acting rudely, which offended me after evaluating the situation. After having my first experience at this establishment, I can state with confidence that I will not be returning.
For years, this used to be my go-to slice place that I would get pizza from once a week. It was great pizza at a good price. However, that is sadly no longer the case. Over the last few months, although inflation has cooled, Amore has significantly increased their prices. I used to get 3 special slices to go for $16-19, depending on whether I tipped or not. Today, 3 special slices with tip was $27 - more than a sit down meal at a nice pizza restaurant. Just within the last month alone, they have raised their prices upwards of 30-50% per slice. Specialty slices are now $6.99 apiece, before taxes and the credit card surcharge. I can go down the street a couple of blocks and get an equally good slice of pizza for half the price (or less). Additionally, quality has taken a bit of a downturn. Often times, I can no longer find slices of classics: meat lovers, supreme, pepperoni, cheese, etc. I really hope leadership takes a look at these reviews speaking to how prices have increased significantly, with quality decreasing, and take action. I simply cannot continue
Service was terrific, but the 14 inch cheese pizza was not good for a NY pizza… for the following reasons and I was expecting a much better product than I received 1. The pizza was not topped properly. It failed because it did not have enough sauce and was very dry. 2. The topping was “center loaded” and left too much dry area from the crust edge to approx 1.5- 2.0 inches inward all around. Too much area was “dough only” and was extra dry and tasteless. 3. Service was good and time promised was accurate.
Service is abysmal! There’s no point placing phone order - when you arrive, you’ll have to reorder or wait an egregious amount of time as the order didn’t process until your arrival 🙃Additionally, staff will shoo poc away in preference for white customers …. even though I had already placed an order for pickup. Worse it’s ready to be picked up, but didn’t address me nor share that it was ready until I asked for an update on my order. Steer clear if you’re a person of color trying to have a humane eating experience
My bf and I both got the worst food poisoning here! The whole trip we needed up spending in the hotel bathroom instead of exploring NYC! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! The food was mid and definitely not worth it. As you can see from the photos of the restaurant the pizza is just sitting under a warming light. We thought this was OK since we have been to many pizza places that do the same thing. They reheated the pizza for us before they handed it to us and I’m not sure what happened but my boyfriend got a different type of pizza slice than I did and we both ended up with horrible food poisoning, avoid this place at all costs. There are 1 million other pizza joints that probably taste way better and are way safer than this place. A photo attached is the nasty slices that made me sick.
$7 for a slice of pizza. You’ve got to be kidding me.
I have been going this store since 5 to 6 year before food was good, guys are good but now these days since 7-8 months their workers are behaving badly, the guy who is working in kitchen he always burn the chicken and he never cooked my order properly. Every time I ordered same food but he is repeatedly burning, not cooking properly, messing and when I tell him to correct about that item he is arguing all the time and today he is bringing my food not even cooking properly and it was very cold 🥶 how can I eat cold food? When I request him to make heat 2,3 workers arguing about they can’t make special order how this only 1 items going to be special I am not even eating different different item I am always eating same item but that kitchen guy made my food very badly. This is disrespectful and disgusting I used to go there every single time and I already send there so many friend and families. I always recommend them about Amore Pizza but today I am regretting about all these things 😤 hopefully I am gonna get response from that place owner 🙏 this is my beginning of review.
The quality of pizza is ok but recently the prices were jacked up tremendously e.g. a slice that cost $4.25 just 6 months ago is now being charged at $7.45 (Yes, that's the price for one slice!). Now that's a RIPOFF so I won't be going there anymore. Note to owner: Please don't bother to apologize, just reduce the prices!
I wouldn't go here. Emoyees lie about the price. I asked what the margarehita slice was and he said $5:50 but when I look at the menu its $3.99. Lots of good pizza places around this area that won't lie to u on prize. I would AVOID eating here
I just got a slice almost 8 dollars, but I wanted one of the slices that was I the fresh pie instead they pulled one from somewhere else and said it was from the pie not missing any slices.
Worst pizza I’ve ever tasted it’s too greasy and oily I would not recommend it to anyone and the staff is not friendly at all.
I recently stop on Amore Pizza Cafe, and had a very disappointing experience with the staff. On one particular night at 3 AM, I repeatedly asked for the key to the bathroom, but the staff refused to provide it. Even he was using it in front of me. This lack of professionalism and basic courtesy is unacceptable, especially during such late hours when customer should feel comfortable and accommodated. The staff's unhelpful attitude made the situation even worse. I would not recommend based on this experience, as the level of service was far below expectations.
Got this today before heading to class at John Jay, what a slap in the face. The gentleman at the cashier seems to be the manager & is always on the phone and extremely rude. Last week I ordered a sausage/ pepperoni & they gave me a pepperoni. I literally had to argue with the chef that that’s not what I order. Now today, I placed the same order & got this slap in the face. I even recall them trying to find the sausage/ pepperoni and they reassured me that they have it ready.
Six dollars for one slice of mediocre pepperoni pizza… That’s crazy. This will be the last time I ever go there. I used to come here but if it was outstanding pizza, I might consider six dollars but it’s not even very good. Stay far away from this price gouging scam . If their rent is so much that is six dollars a slice move to a different location. Ridiculous and disappointing.
Was visiting NYC with family and stopped by to pickup up some pizza for the night. Typical takeout joint with some tables for a quick bite. They have many options of XL slices of NY pizza with different toppings. The waiters were quite rude when I asked to explain the toppings of some of the pizzas on display. I can understand if they can't speak English but they could slightly They just didn't want to explain and were rude on top of that. The prices were outrageous $9 for a pepperoni slice. The pizza was OK, nothing to write home about. Wouldn't visit this place again.
