Opinions de Sempre Oggi New York
This restaurant is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Starting with the friendly front of the house to the beautiful space it is incredible and a fantastic experience. Jen P took care of our table and was both knowledgeable about the food and had a great personality. We loved our pasta dishes, ricotta appetizer and delicious chocolate dessert. This is now one of our favorite places on the upper west side.
Had been to Sempre Oggi with friends prior and enjoyed our experience, so our party of 12 chose for New Year's Eve- the place was festively decorated. All the communications leading up to the evening were timely and professional. Our group loved the evening- from the creative tasty dishes to the friendly very well trained staff. Loved the cocktails! We did a prix fixe menu due to the party size and the amount and variety of food was extensive and super tasty. Robert and Bryan were the best! Try it for yourself- you will not be disappointed.
10/10 experience here. Excited to have found the perfect neighborhood restaurant for any occasion. The food was absolutely outstanding. I will be thinking about the Fusilli for a while, it was SO good. Other highlights included the arancini and tiramisu. Ambiance was also so cool, and will be back to try out the bar area!
Service is friendly and accommodating. They even called us beforehand to check if we had any allergies or were celebrating a special occasion. Everything we ate was excellent, but the standouts were the braised duck pappardelle and the stracciatella. The cocktails were also a hit as was the wine! Would definitely come here again.
This was one of the best experiences I have had dining in the city! Hands down! The decor is gorgeous, the food was amazing, and the service was outstanding! Thaddeus took great care of me and my boyfriend for our anniversary! Love that the menu has changes everyday, but I sure hope they keep the halibut dish! At this point, I'm counting the days till I can visit again!
We dined here after a 5:00 PM show at the Beacon Theater — just a five-minute walk away. The room was large and full, yet somehow still pleasantly quiet, perhaps thanks to effective soundproofing. That alone was remarkable. We’ve eaten at many NYC restaurants where noise and amped-up music dominate, and those tend to be one-and-done for us. On to the food: we started with house-made focaccia and calamari. Four generous pieces of excellent focaccia, and calamari served with an interesting, very good take on tartar sauce — both top-shelf. For mains, the bucatini amatriciana featured a rich tomato sauce with plenty of crunchy bits of pancetta, while the grilled branzino was cooked perfectly and deboned before serving. Martinis were excellent (the bartender clearly knows what he’s doing), and the wine selection was strong. We didn’t have room for dessert — maybe next time. Service was friendly and efficient, with multiple bussers keeping water glasses filled and cutlery replaced as needed. A wonderful dinner and an easy addition to our short list of NYC favorites.
Very large restaurant with a really nice decor. Famous dishes are focaccia bread, the gem salad, pasta with amatriciana sauce, and tiramisu. I had all of them, and can say that the rumors are true. Focaccia is very soft, gem salad has the perfect cold and crispy texture, amatriciana tastes great, and tiramisu is memorable. We also had the duck leg parcelles. The tastes were good and well mixed. Also, they carry good wine that pairs well with food. I liked the cream of the tiramisu the most. Also, they make a good effort to make your special day memorable. Suggestion: they should add a sweet bite to the bag they give you when you are leaving the restaurant on your special they - some others restaurants do it so it makes this kind of expected.
Absolutely a must try. Food was delicious served at perfect temperature. Great atmosphere the Waitress was were extremely knowledgeable about the Menu. Tender chicken with a slight light skin that tasted like fried chicken. Salad were robust and flavors combined perfectly. Just go!! Well worth the money!!!
One my fave restaurants in NYC. Dining here is a true experience, traditional Italian dishes tuned up but with simple ingredients sourced fresh and done right. A staff that actually cares about youth dining happiness, seasonal Negronis, fresh bowls of pasta you wish would never end, vegetables as showcase pieces, not after thoughts and the biggest, softest most flavorful tiramisu you’ll ever have. Come hungry. Bring friends. Share everything.
Walked in on a Saturday evening (on the earlier side), and we were able to get seated at the “chef’s counter.” We started off with drinks at the bar ($10 cocktails from 4-6 PM!), which had a nice vibe, before moving to the chef’s counter right in front of the kitchen. It was nice to be able to see the hustle and bustle of the kitchen and take in the aroma of the various dishes being prepared. We started with whipped ricotta and fig bruschetta; the balance of savory and sweet made for a nice bite, but some parts of the bread were grilled a bit too long and were burnt. For mains, we had fettuccine with white bolognese and fusilli with basil pesto and spicy sausage. Both pastas were very good. The white bolognese had hints of liver to add to the layers and richness of the flavor. The fusilli had a brighter flavor, with a nice dash of heat from the sausage. Dessert was torta di formaggio, which ended up being a chocolate cheesecake. The upper shell was hard, which added to great textural contrast. The orange cream also balanced out the decadence of the chocolate. Service was friendly and informative. The vibe was a bit more fancy than your average neighborhood spot, but not so fancy to be stuffy.
Of my favorite restaurants, I live in Harlem, and I find myself here often as a regular. The bar is incredible. The service is out of this world, and I love how the menu changes frequently, where you have to return weekly. One of my favorite things to order from the bartender Marvin is an extra dirty martini.
I come here almost every week now and honestly this is the best Italian restaurant I ever been to!! Everyone is very friendly and I have tried Almost everything on the menu by now and can’t say one bad thing about it!! Even brunch is so good!!!! Just love coming here every single time and don’t hesitate coming here at all!!! 10/10!!!
From the minute we stepped in, we were made to feel so welcome! The team did a wonderful job of creating a warm atmosphere through their friendliness. On top of that, the space itself was uniquely cozy yet sophisticated, and the noise levels were ideal to converse without feeling a need to shout. For dinner I ordered the sweet corn cappelletti, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The corn filling was summery and fresh, and the sungold tomato sauce was the perfect burst of flavor to complement it. The pasta served as a delicate wrapper for the corn filling, which was fun to eat and allowed the corn to shine. I look forward to coming back and trying other seasonal delights. All in all I was quite impressed with Sempre Oggi and I'm excited to have them in the neighborhood.
New favorite spot in the Upper Westside. From the service to the ambiance to the amazing food, Sempre Oggi did not disappoint. Our server Yussef offered the NY Restaurant week menu but we ended up ordering from the traditional menu to have more options. Started with an espresso martini, the prosciutto, a perfectly dressed little gem caesar salad and just-right crispy calamari. Then had the well seasoned branzino with artichoke and tagliatelle with rabbit. Cleaned our plates and got out in great time for a show around the corner at the Beacon. Thanks team for the lovely meal. Will definitely be back!
We are so happy to have found this neighborhood new fave. Food was very fresh and prepared with seasonal ingredients. Our waitress, iris was super friendly and attentive. Four of us all loved our food. The only thing that is a little off is the bar area which is where our table was located smelled like cigarette.
Came to Sempre Oggi for a drink at the bar prior to going for a show at Beacon Theatre.. although the restaurant was quite full we were able to get seats at the bar rather quickly. Very friendly service and our mixologist. Kevin gave us a tasting of their house special martini and I wound up getting two more.. great service.. really pretty restaurant.. very clean bathrooms. We didn’t get a chance to eat, but we’ll definitely be back to try. The food smelled and looked delicious.
Atmosphere is utterly stunning, and the food was alright. The counter seating with the open view really tells how well the cleanliness of the kitchen is, but not really kid friendly due to smoke. Really busy dinner rush when I got in so service was a tad slow. The food was good but a bit too sour for my palate.
Excellent food, but really disappointed by the service. The ambience is pleasant, but the tables are packed together, so there is no privacy. They knew I had to leave for a show because they called me and asked again when I arrived, which is nice. However, despite their assurance that I would have plenty of time, they brought the last dish after the time I was supposed to leave. I had to eat in a rush and couldn't enjoy my food. Once they knew they were late, instead of communicating openly the waiters hid away.
