Well! I had the best iced Green Tea... I think I have ever experienced!...maybe it was the extreme heat.. nope it was purely delicious!!!
Wonderful rose green tea served in a little pot. Plenty of space to sit and friendly employees.
Enjoyed the cold lychee tea and the espresso. Nice comfortable oasis amidst a busy China Town.
Cute cafe offering a variety of teas and boba teas. Had a great time - was a pleasant atmosphere and staff was very nice and helpful.
Loved the quaint tea shop in the heart of Chinatown. Tea selection was large, and service was quick and friendly.
Wonderful cafe. Great tea, great service, great prices.
Good place for tea, boba, coffee also friendly staff has good cafe vibes
You can’t beat the price of their ice coffee. I got a coffee with a shot of espresso for $4. It would be so much more expensive at any of the new wave coffee shops you find around the city.
Good tea cafe the owner and workers good individuals. It a quiet and peaceful location in the heart of China town little Italy.
Great job
Cozy, quiet cafe. Good place to get pastries and tea at a reasonable price. They also have cheesecake, and a cute sign outside in the front.
Great place for local and chill
The front end of the cafe has a nice, quiet vibe to it if you're trying to grab a cup of coffee, or enjoy some delicious bubble tea that they offer. There's also a section in the farther back of the cafe called Silk Road Gaming. It's a section dedicated to trading card games that they carry. There are regulars that come and play casually, and every so often there are small tournaments held (with the proper guidelines followed for indoor spaces).
Every time I come to Chinatown for dinner I stop by this lovely little tea shop for a pot or two of tea. Aside from how reasonably priced it is at only $6 a pot, they have some of the most delicious blends I've ever had. I'd particularly recommend their orange oolong, vanilla lemongrass, and date longan and wolfberry teas. Each sip is a delight. Great for a group or if you're just looking to get some work done over a pot of delicious tea.
Very good cozy cafe in Manhattan Chinatown. Cafe is not crowded and their price is not expensive. They have coffee, smoothie, milkshake, herbal teas, and snow flake shaved ice.
Wonderful little place off Mott st. Great place if you have tea and coffee drinkers in your party. Staff was friendly. Kumquat lemon tea was nice and refreshing. Great, quiet place to relax and read or work
A hidden gem amidst the bustle of Chinatown. Go for the red dates / longan / wolfberry, it's a gem that I personally haven't seen since Dungan restaurants in Kyrgyzstan.
lovely atmosphere and i always come here to grab passion fruit green bubble tea since they do great job making it. a really nice place to get work done after a long day ☺️
I’ve been coming here since before COVID. It’s convenient and perfect when meeting friends for a casual tea or drink. My go-to place for a long time.
Best drinks, well worth the money. I love the setting of this cafe. Just enough room for everybody to relax and enjoy a nice conversation along with coffee or ice cold tea
Splendid little tea house! Great tasting tea at a good price.
Great little Chinatown coffee shop, with a peaceful atmosphere, with some of the cheapest coffee I’ve gotten in the city! The barista was super sweet, and my coffee was excellent.
Great coffee and tea in a really cool location. Loved it. The house made green tea with jasmine flowers was fantastic!
Great tea
Nice workers! Good wifi and great place to study! As long as your a customer, they will provide their wifi so make sure you buy something first.
I love it! It’s nice & relaxing & it has good American/Chinese food & they play trading card games there like Vanguard,Buddy Fight & Magic just for fun. 😄
Amazing coffee and tea spot in the heart of Chinatown. Stunning tea and good coffees. Enjoy cheesecake from Eileen's in a casual setting.
In the heart of Chinatown. Amazing teas! We had the honey lemon tea and the peach tea. Really nice and highly recommended for a little stop ;)
My favorite cafe in the neighborhood. Very pleasant staff. Great vibes, making a very pleasant place to do work. All food items are very affordably priced. The music is also constantly changing, which I LOVE--always different genres, sometimes even silence which is nice too.
I love Silk Road (I call it “Silky”) because it’s so calm. On the weekends, the place can be packed, but it’s so tranquil on weekdays. I always enjoy their pot of Rose Green tea or Passion Fruit. Their breakfast sandwiches are simple, but delicious. I enjoy their ham and egg as well as their sausage egg ones. I’ve been so frequent as a customer, I have their Chinese songs from the radio memorized lol.
While on jury duty at the nearby criminal courthouse, this was my favorite coffee spot to take a break for lunch. After trying dozens of nearby shops (I was on a case for many weeks) each day - this one had the best prices and friendliest service. Wifi was a nice touch as well as I could get some work done before returning to the courthouse. I highly recommend!
A cozy spot found in the craziness of Chinatown. Definitely caters to the younger generation living and coming into the area. It was a nice place to enjoy tea, study, and relax. Would recommend this place for meetups, dates, and a place to study. I haven’t tried the coffee, but the teas were top notch. Little pricey, but keep in mind that they’re sold as a pot. Remember, also that you can fill it up with hot water again to continue enjoying the tea. Just ask the owners.
Their kind people! I have been a customer for twenty years. The management does many good things for the community. I'm not Chinese Italian and I respect the community. Their tea is excellent and the service is good. Better than Flushing or Brooklyn. They are family friendly and treat their customers with respect. It a good venue.
the tea was very pleasant and nice seatings and hangout area. when I went, i saw the staff explaining chinese culture to a group of ppl. so i'm not sure if this place is usually quiet or always used for such events but either way I like it. prices of food were extremely fair and tasted great
A good spot to chill out or relaxing with coffee or tea in Chinatown.
Really good coffee (of the regular espresso/latte kind) and and a nice cozy interior with the sound of the Espresso machine and the tinkle of cups in the background and quick, good service. Refreshingly, there is none of the pretentiousness of people sitting around with laptops while you look for a table. Maybe because they have proper tables and chairs :-). Nice Chinatown surprise!!
Lovely selection of teas. Yes it’s ~$15, but you get a pot of tea with an enormous amount of leaves (like as much as I’d use to brew a kitchen sink worth of tea), so if you kept getting hot water refills, this yields quite a lot of tea!
Chill cafe with a nice selection of teas by the pot
Great atmosphere, friendly owner (looks family owned), fits into the historic atmosphere of chinatown. A very homely cafe with well priced and delicious drink. Be sure to visit for some good drink or take a rest stop while you're nearby. A good first visit. Ordered Green tea boba with milk. Out of all the boba shop tried in NYC, this is so far the best with distinct jasmine green tea base and elastic boba. Such good quality tea is hard to come by in town, let alone in a cafe where you can sit and relax. 10/10 and would definitely visit in the future. Lovely place.
Nice café. Warm welcome, nice refuge while looking atvths snow falling.
Great little cafe Nice spot to chill out. Very relaxing and lady lovely.
A low-key café in Chinatown. I grabbed an espresso macchiato for a quick caffeine boost, but the real standout was the tea selection. We shared a pot brewed with dates, longan, and goji berries - it was soothing, naturally sweet, and incredibly satisfying. The space is simple and spacious with plenty of tables and a bit of retro charm. A great place to work and unwind.
Cafe On popular Mott St. across a Catholic Church of Transfiguration in Chinatown of NYC. Serves gourmet coffee, waffles, smoothies & teas. Order, pay at counter, find a seat from an assortment of tables/chairs for 2,4 or 6, some bar stool height, food is perfectly warm, timely served to savour a unique Chinatown Experience. Ample servings of peanut butter waffle on porcelain-looking plate, disposable plastic fork and knife, Coffee in thermal paper cup, for decent price.Universal restroom, neat and well kept, reflective of decent patrons & respect for hygiene & property. values. Parking may be a challenge. Not suggested for toddlers or large wheelchair users, due to narrow door entrance.
My favorite matcha ordered to date. Coming from your neighborhood matcha fiend, this matcha was incomparable to any matcha I’ve ever made or bought anywhere. I got it lightly sweetened with honey (which I don’t normally do) and it was just such a perfect matcha. Very reasonable prices for a coffee/ tea shop of this caliber and experience. Side note: matcha is not on their menu, you have to ask!
This is a very interesting cafe, that has a general seating area next to the coffee bar and gaming towards the back of the building. A pleasant selection of specialty teas and coffees and side dishes. Their coffee with foam milk and a sugar substitute — out-of-this-world! Located on the ever popular Mott Street venue, it’s a great spot for Asian students to come to, to get their homework assignments done. Definitely recommended.
Ordered a lemon tea iced, and went in expecting a black tea with lemon and got this drink, which I surprisingly ended up enjoying a lot! Kinda tasted more like lemonade than tea but still very refreshing on this hot day. Also, excellent prices for Manhattan. We got this and an iced coffee for less than $10. Enjoyed the choice of a colored straw!:)
In the mood for a pleasant and restful coffee break while shopping and sightseeing in NYC’s Chinatown? Then the Silk Road Café is the perfect place to relax while observing the busy hustle and bustle outside on Mott Street. The interior is a lovely, open space with large tables with modern and asian decor. Western style coffee is served, as well as a full range of teas, pastries and bagels. Truly a genuine New York gem.
It was great bubble tea! I ordered peach bubble tea and nice.Bubbles are very fresh, it has nice food texrure. This is cosy place for take a rest in China town.
Nice and quiet café with refreshing drinks and a restroom. Lots of seating and a good place to relax if you need a break from walking
i'd say this place taste better than it looks. they make the most tasty coffee and traditional Chinese tea in this area. it is easy to miss it but they have surprisingly good desserts. a great grab-n-go spot.
Not super friendly customer service but the atmosphere and tea make up for it. I love the dried passion fruit tea and really enjoy drinking it in the small teacups they serve it with. Also they've got little cheesecakes from Eileen's Special Cheesecake.
Super cute cafe/tea house with plenty of seating, free wifi and bathroom usage. Great place to get work done. The options are plentiful and decently priced, the boba isn’t the best (I’m not a fan of the tapioca) but it’s not bad.
Cozy and not too busy. There are plenty of tables and chairs. Has wifi and bathroom. There is no time limit on how long you can stay depending on how much you purchase. Overall, they have good selection of caffeinated drinks and some pastries. I stayed about 3 to 4 hours and got a lot of work finished.
This cafe is quite interesting. It offers plenty of seating space, making it an ideal spot to sit down and study. The availability of a bathroom, outlets, and WiFi adds to its appeal. The environment is not too loud, allowing for comfortable concentration. The menu is extensive, featuring items beyond a typical cafe, including boba and a variety of sweets. Although the classic waffle I ordered was disappointing and not worth the price, my companions enjoyed some of the boba options. However, the cafe is located in an area surrounded by other boba shops, which adds to the competition. Note that there is a minimum purchase of $5 to use a credit card. The service was kind, fast, and helpful, assisting me in deciding what to order. However, the bathroom lacked paper towels, so keep that in mind. One unique aspect of the cafe is the game room at the back, which felt out of place for a cafe setting. It features niche card decks for purchase, tables, boxes of board games, and various supplies catering to a specific audience. This unexpected addition was a cool surprise. I'm looking forward to visiting again to explore more of the offerings.
Cute cafe that is a nice spot to sit after a lot of walking in the summer heat. We used to come here when we lived in NYC, before there were so many boba shops and cafes everywhere. Now, there are too many options, but we had good memories here.
Nice environment in the midst of bustling Chinatown. However staff didn't allow my friend who joined me to use the bath room when I had already purchased a coffee there. Mixed reviews.
Really only has coffee and tea but If you want somewhere to meet someone or bring your laptop and get some work done this place does the job. The coffee is a little pricey. $4 for a regular nothing special deli style drip coffee but I guess you are paying for the ambience:)
I had a silkachino, which was exact what I was looking for, during my stay in America! Plus it was a very quiet place in Chinatown, it was a little escape from the rush in New York 😊
Slow wifi, no AC, this is not a place where you can sit to do work if that is what you are looking for. Latte's are regular priced, so not like the no-frills experience is very no-frills priced.
Coffee is pretty terrible (although cheap), service is nice and is cosy inside. Pastries are nothing special. Teas might be much better, we should have tried that instead.
drinks just ok, owner/staff are really aggro and rude about how much you purchase, how long you sit, bathroom use, etc. they literally will yell at you in front of the whole cafe. also, the tea, coffee, and vibes are just nothing special anyways
I've been here a few times, but on this last visit when I ordered a HK milk tea, they gave me regular light milk tea. When I asked them about it they acted like I didn't understand what it was and tried to explain that what they served me was normal... But I frequently order the same drink from other local places, and I used to live in HK! Maybe their herbal teas are worth it, but this totally tasted like Lipton tea bags and milk. If the owner sees this message I suggest you try HK milk tea from Yin Ji Chang Fen around the corner to see what you should actually be aiming for. I wish there was somewhere decent to go sit down and hang out that wasn't alcohol, but I guess I'll have to keep searching.
Zero class and zero manners. Today on Tuesday at 1:30pm. I visited the place hoping to connect for an hour. Upon entrance there was a line to order so I figured I would use the restroom first. The person on duty yelled across the room to demand I place an order first at which time I said I would be good for it. He threw a fit and demanded I order first or else. He embarrassed me, himself, and his establishment Let this 1-star rating be a learning lesson for the owners of this place.
I bought a pastry and sat down, then went up to ask for a glass of tap water. The same server kindly started to fill a cup for me, but then the manager stopped her and told me that they sell bottled water, and do not provide tap water. Very rude, to a paying customer! Not coming back.
I bought tea and sat down. Soon afterwards I kept being hounded by the owners for not buying enough. I was asked to buy another drink if I wanted to stay since it was busy. I could understand if I had been here for an hour, but I had only sat down for 10 minutes.
If you are a tourist and want to rest and get a drink in Chinatown, don’t come here. They require every customer to buy something. I came to the cafe with my friend. I got a drink, but my friend didn’t. The owner/older lady came over and said my friend also needs to get something to drink; otherwise, we need to leave. I told her I got a drink already, but she insisted that my friend needed to purchase too. The lady then accused my friend of trying to make money on the premises. She is a graduate student conducting research with my daughter. My friend ended up buying a drink, but this episode and the lady’s poor attitude left a sour taste in my mouth and ruined an otherwise good day. There are lots of great cafes and bakeries in Chinatown with great food and drinks.
The staff are nice and the music stays at a respectable volume, but they allow these awful Chinatown tours to stop there throughout the day, everyday. The white tour guides are extremely loud with saccharine voices and know little that Wikipedia can’t tell you in a few minutes, like what a chashu bun is. I don’t get why none of the guides are Chinese American, but am not surprised. The young girl with dyed hair and tats is particularly bad and seems to hate her clients and can barely hide it from her face. The last straw was when she told me my table was reserved and that I had to move, which definitely wasn’t true. I had been going long enough to know. I took that as a sign to give up on the place.
After purchasing a Taro Slush and sitting down to drink it and eat some dumplings purchased nearby, I was asked to leave because of the dumplings smell (I’ve never noticed a strong smell). There are so many places that have no issue with outside items (I am at one now composing this review) that I don’t need to spend my money at places like this.
Overpriced bad quality tea made of syrup, The owner is rude and that was definitely my last time I’ll visit there.
