At Tap a Keg, we're all about embracing that laid-back vibe. Our happy hour lasts for 7 hours, because why not? We've got a pool table and dart board to keep you entertained while you enjoy our craft beers and tasty pub fare. Our regulars rave about our juicy burgers and crispy wings, which are always cooked to perfection. But it's not just the food – it's the atmosphere that keeps them coming back. With dim lighting and comfy seating, our cozy spot on Broadway is the perfect spot to gather with friends or meet new ones over a cold one (or two, or three...).

Opinions de Tap a Keg New York
I have lived a couple of blocks away from Cafe Du Soleil for about four years, but just tried it out for the first time a few weeks ago. Wow! This is my new favorite brunch spot, hands down. My girlfriend and I have tried the hash brown combo, a couple of the benedictes, and the croque soleil. All were incredibly tasty, and the dishes have been consistent every time we've returned. I also really appreciate the quick, and friendly service, even when it's during peak hours. Dan, Alec, and Kelly have been especially great! Highly recommended!
Cafe du Soleil is situated beside the river Stour in Canterbury occupying a former 18th century wool store. The restaurant is accessed by its own bridge over the river. The building was restored with a grant from English Heritage and it now showcases the extensive use of reclaimed building material from the 14C city wall. Cafe’s cuisine draws influences from Provence in southern France, from Italy and from the Pacific rim, to create a modern cuisine with a Mediterranean heart. The menu changes with the seasons, and much of our food is cooked in our wood burning oven, fed with locally sourced wood from managed forest.
Went there for Mother’s Day brunch with our little one in a stroller. We had a reservation and did not have to wait. They were very accommodating; they went above and beyond to find us a table that would allow us to sit next to our baby in the stroller. The food and service were great. I had the croque madame and my spouse had the classique Benedict. We also split a creme brulee. We also had a few cocktails and they were all great. The prices were also very reasonable! Would definitely recommend
Great place and great ambience. The food is simply delicious. The service is prompt and corteous. They have some great collection of wines and cocktails as well. They have a lot of seafood which is out of this world. They have outside and inside seating. Overall a great place and would highly recommend to all.
Cafe du Soleil has become our go-to happy hour spot. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively and the service is always excellent. Get there around 4:30-5 and sit around the bar, The wine, pâté, burger and fries, soup…etc., are all delicious, and the prices are unbeatable. It’s the perfect place to unwind and share good conversation over great food.-
The dishes we had were cooked perfectly, not too salty, with a flavor profile and combination more refined than most good French restaurants at this price point. Staff was excellent: friendly and attentive, and my wife and I would love to go back.
This french restaurant was a quick stop before going to central park. Food was really good and the prices were alright. It's a great place to sit on a sunny day!
This place showed professionalism at every turn. I've tried different menu items and found adequate quality. I thought the staff's performance was excellent. The interior design stands out immediately. You'll find satisfaction in your choice!
Cafe du Soleil has a wonderful atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Try the Boef Bourguignon! Creme Brûlée is also excellent. Their Prix fixe offers good value.
This establishment—specifically the happy hour—is the beating heart of the neighborhood. Fantastic classic cocktails and moules frites, and the lamb merguez sausages with fries is to die for.
Cute, quaint spot. The customer service was great. What we initially came in to try wasn’t available but I was not disappointed with my visit. The food was absolutely delicious. My sister who dislikes ham thoroughly enjoyed her quiche Lorraine. I enjoyed the croque madame. I do wish the side salads had dressing. The caramel macchiatos were some of the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. The crepe was perfect balance of tart and sweet.
I was looking for a quiet place to have a nice glass of wine and a bite to eat. After a beautiful concert at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. After trying a few different places that were way too loud, I found Cafe du Soleil. The host tonight was Miguel. He was so gracious and welcoming. Even though I just wanted a little something, he showed me to a beautiful little table outside that is inside a plastic bubble! Very cozy and private. It was the perfect quiet experience to have a glass of wine and some delicious escargot on Broadway in New York City! I will be back, for sure. Very grateful to Miguel for the welcome.
What an amazing discovery. Great atmosphere, wide menu selection, welcoming and professional service. Every dish we tried left us curving to return for more. My personal surprise was a blood sausage. I tried plenty of them cooked Slavic style, but one we had in Cafe du Soleil - best of the best!!!
Absolutely wonderful!!! Tried snails for the first time and I have to be honest I was skeptical..but they were absolutely delicious!! Especially when paired up with the delicious bread they give you! Had steak and eggs with fries, omg!! The best steak and eggs I’ve ever had in my life! The bartenders were amazing and very communicative and comforting. Definitely coming here again!! 10/5!!! Sorry I didn’t take pictures of the steak and eggs, I very much inhaled that food lol oh and the fries were spectacular too! Perfect amount of crunchy, crispy and flavorful!
We had the best time here! Everything was so tasty and well-prepared. We started with peach bourbon and raspberry ginger cocktails—both super fresh, flavorful, and a great size. For food, we had the French onion soup, butternut squash soup, Hachis Parmentier Au Four (a French take on shepherd’s pie), and a croque madame. Every dish was perfectly seasoned—not too salty or sweet, just really good, comforting food. For dessert, we split an apple tart, and it was the perfect way to end the meal—flaky, warm, and so delicious. The staff was really friendly, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. We’ll definitely be back!
Great outdoor seating area, great staff, and amazing food. First time trying escargot and I was really impressed. I wanted to drink the broth that the mussells came in. Delicious meal. 10/10 would recommend. The manager was even nice enough to buy us a second round of drinks!
Another beautiful afternoon at Cafe du soleil. The chèvre arugula salad with a glass of Bordeaux is incredible. Cafe du Soleil is a treasure in the upper west side
Had a fabulous brunch here last weekend with a friend, love this place, the decor, the food, the light it’s just a solid spot! Staff is super helpful and sweet. Food is top, I had the French burger and it was spectacular, I plan on becoming a regular here! Bravo!
I am a longstanding fan of Cafe du Soleil. They have an extensive menu, and the food is good and well priced for the quality. No one should expect Michelin-star gastronomy, this is solid bistro cuisine, and they do that well. The happy hour is an exceptional value, and I don't know how they make money, but having to be at the (tight) bar does a pretty good job of rationing service, so either come early or be willing to stand. I particularly relish the fact that the staff here are willing to tolerate my terrible French. This is a place I bring my friends and family, and look forward to doing so for a long time to come!

Such an amazing restaurant. Friendly staff and outstanding food. I cant recommend the french burger enough- so delicious!
Many have raved about this restaurant before me, and they were right. You'll appreciate the portion size, price point, and food quality here. Excellent meals offered at unexpectedly fair rates. All personnel show remarkable ability. Generally speaking, employees were solid and I plan to visit again.
The French Onion soup was out of this world! I hear the broth is made in-house (like most of the menu items!) with roasted beef bones. The herbs gave it a very complex flavor. I had been thinking about it prior to the meal and it was better than what I had imagined. The endive salad was perfectly dressed and with extremely fresh endive. It annoys me when an endive salad has “filler” greens and I was extremely satisfied that it was only endive and lots of it. I’m writing this review while awaiting the merguez, which I’ve had before and am hoping only exceeds the successes of these prior courses. Wait staff was ample and attentive and we sat next to a family with a small child, and they seems very happy and comfortable here. A good place for all.
This is my go to spot when n the city_love the French comfort food! Last visit had escargot lots of garlic and herbs and sizzling hot! Just that worth the trip. Dessert was crème brûlée with crackly top done right. Cozy and warm inside too.
- ambience is great - comfortable seating and comfortable noise level and temperature - great service - the fries are great - the snails are good - well seasoned and buttery and the free bread is tasty, good quality - coq au vin meat is far too tough, but chiken is good quality. Braising liquid wasn’t very complex kinda tasted like warming spices. - beef bourguiginon has great flavor but the meat is also tougher than it should be - wine with prix fix menu is Côtes du Rhône white or red by Les dauphin (it was good) - the crème brûlée is GREAT, the mousse is more like chocolate pudding and the whipped cream on it *tastes* like redi whip

The rumors are true: best HH in the neighborhood. It’s not even debatable. The food is solid. Items that are on replay: sardines, any of the muscles, the burger, calamari… there’s more, but the martinis have my memory pause. Adult beverages are solid, especially the martinis @ HH. It’s the truth, baby Ruth. Desserts are mid. Eat another appetizer, instead. Life is too short for mid food and your stomach is too small, choose wisely.
Nice atmosphere with French background music that is pleasant to hear. For Sunday's brunch, they had on the menu hash browns that were tasty - I recommend them. Both the impossible burger and the french fries were just okay. But the chocolate mousse is special - I loved its taste and freshness. I was impressed by the server's knowledge of the menu, which helped in avoiding the fettuccini, because it contained chicken stock. However, I was a bit disappointed that he didn't fill up my sparkling water nor did he ask if I was enjoying my meal. I don't think I'll come back unless there are no other options.
UPDATE: I decided to give this restaurant another chance since I was shopping in the area and I am glad I did. The food was fresh and relatively flavorful. The mashed potatoes reminded me of my late mom's cooking. They were exquisite with the right amount of milk, cheese and seasoning. My grilled salmon was unfortunately quite bland and could have used some seasoning. Service was excellent. REVIEW FROM 1 YEAR AGO (1 star rating): I ordered the hachis parmentier and the Bourgogne snails from seamless and the food I received was unnaceptable. The snails did not taste fresh, the meat in the hachis parmentier was dry and there was very little to no mash potatoes on top. Do you serve leftovers to customers who order online!? I am extremely disappointed at Café du Soleil. REVIEW FROM 4 YEARS AGO (4 stars rating): Brunch was tasty. Café du soleil serves authentic French dishes using very fresh ingredients. The coq au vin was flavorful and the savory crêpe as well. The Bellini was good; I just wish they had an unlimited drinks option.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was also very attentive, with reasonable prices. However, we had 4 different steaks and unfortunately while they were all cooked perfectly the actual quality of the meat was quite low and none of us enjoyed it. This could have been a one time thing however I have to mention it. That being said our appetizers were delicious.
Saturday brunch walk-in with the place filled to 40% capacity. Very chill vibes and French/Paris eatery setup with nice bright interiors. I wish their draught selection was wider, but the Kronenbourg pint they had on tap was chilled and went down pretty easy! For food, we got linguine with butter for out little butter cakes, Moroccan Sandwich ($19) with Spicy Lamb Sausage. The French Baguette was pretty hard to eat but the sausage was good. The winner of the table though was an excellent Vegetarian Avocado Toast ($19). The Yellow and Red Cherry tomatoes and onions just elevated the taste to the next level for me! Service was slightly slow in terms of our drinks. Food however arrived within 20 mins of ordering. I can see Cafe Du Soleil become our regular brunch spot, especially whenever I am craving their amazing Avocado Toast!
I like the atmosphere at this French bistro and the food is surprisingly good. Note there is a French attitude towards service here even though we're on the UWS. They don't respond well to any modifications or special requests - forget about any issues you have with your order. If you stick to French classics and don't ask for anything special you should be good 👌 and it's an enjoyable meal.

Very pleasant experience at Cafe du Soleil. We were there for mussels night and it was great. First, the host: our reservation was for 7:30 but by mistake we got there at 7:00 and he did not flinch. The place was almost full but he seated us right away. Next was the waiter: charming man from Spain who was extremely accommodating when we told him we were going to have just drinks while waiting for our friend at 7:30. In other restaurants they would have given you attitude for holding the table. Mussels we great (several choices, I chose saffron, a friend chose lemon). The way by the glass (included I the prix fixe) was fair, not great. But we also ordered a bottle and it was fine. Desserts were delicious and abundant portions. All in all, a very good experience

Our waiter wasn’t friendly or attentive to us. The eggs and meat weren’t cooked which resulted in one friends to vomit right on the table. Another waiter was really friendly and continue serve us to make our meal at least pleasant from a service perspective. I would say skip, this is subpar food.
Drinks were pretty good and a fantastic happy hour deal. French onion soup was so great. But beware the “Burrata et avocado salad” for it is literally just 3 slices of avocado, 3 slivers of tomato, and 3 individual roasted garlic cloves. Not what we were expecting for something called a salad. An important heads up if you’re planing to go for happy hour: you can *only* sit in this one designated roped-off section with wobbly high top table and stools, directly underneath a large TV, right beside the front entrance. Even if you order a main dish from the main menu instead of the Happy Hour menu, even if the rest of the normal table are empty, they will not let you sit outside that section.
I really wanted to give this restaurant a higher rating. 3 is being completely fair. We came with family over the holiday and dined in an outdoor heated bubble. We like those :) The service was friendly, appetisers and cocktails were also lovely. We had the mussels, fries, French onion soup and the frisée avocado salad. The problem with was everything else ordered was just so-so or inedible. The biggest issue for me was my Boeuf Bourguignon. I was excited to have this but the beef was very tough! I actually sent it back expecting the chef to at least pick out some tender pieces. It was still tough. I just did not eat it. Also, the Le Cassoulet Toulousain was basically just a big dish of white beans with a few pieces of meat. You really must love baked white beans to enjoy this dish. The lamb leg however was Okei and the asparagus risotto was a true French risotto (meaning it has a little crunch to it) I do not personally mind that, however worth mentioning in case some people do not. Again, appetisers and drinks were a big hit with myself and family! Would go just for that :)
The drinks were great and the server was nice and attentive! However some of the food was a bit disappointing. The mushroom soup wasn't creamy enough. The crab cake burger was cold and instead of crab cake it was just crab meat mixed with some sauce. Also, the garlic fries had very little garlic powder spread on the top only....i expected the garlic to be spread out evenly.
Our experience was not what I hoped it would be. I was looking forward to dining here. We had to wait over an hour for our food, although we ordered right away, and there were only 4 other couples in the restaurant at the time. There were lots of empty seats. Perhaps the waitress forgot to place our order. She didn't acknowledge that she did either until I asked her about it after watching other people who were seated after us getting their meals. I enjoyed my meal although it arrived very late. My husband didn't enjoy his at all. Lastly, the place could use a good cleaning. The bathrooms were atrocious, and the walls, floors, and decor had grime and grease on them. The entire place needs to be hosed down...Powerwashed and wiped down. My husband and I made the best of it and will try them again someday.
Food was mediocre. raw veggies in cooked meal, not seasoned properly, store bought white sandwich bread. Expected more for the prices. Paid 70$ for two meals and one drink
We enjoyed sitting here for brunch, the atmosphere and the service were great although the food was just OK.

Awful cocktails - how is it possible to mess up a martini so badly that it gets sent back, and is replaced by one just as bad, that tasted like the gin was diluted? The restaurant is extremely noisy and while the endive salad was good, both entrees (lamb shank and boeuf bourguignon) were mediocre and definitely not worth the effort it took to get to the UWS. The service, however, was excellent and our very hardworking waiter remained cheerful and helpful throughout our complaints. No return visit, I am afraid.

Made a reservation on Resy for 9:45pm. Got a call 6 hours before the reservation saying they close the kitchen at 9:45pm sharp…. Don’t post reservations you can’t honor, it’s extremely inconsiderate of your customers. Now I need to find another place at the last minute. Just be aware if you book this place, don’t count of them to be reliable. You may get a call the day of telling you they won’t honor your reservation.
I was really disappointed with my experience. The food was below average bland, poorly prepared, and not worth the price. It felt rushed and lacked quality. The service was even more frustrating. Staff seemed uninterested, inattentive, and not welcoming. We had to wait longer than expected, and no one checked in to see if everything was okay.
Ordered on uber eats October 4 around 4 in the afternoon. Missing a drink, fries were old and cold, bottom of bag fell out as soon as l lifted it from the counter. Burger bacon was raw. No toppings as described (Lettuce tomato pickles etc). Mousse was warm. Onion Soup was tasteless.

If ignorance were a service style, this place would have perfected it. The host and waitstaff managed to be consistently rude, unhelpful, and dismissive, with that very modern “we don’t care and you’re annoying for asking” attitude. Not blunt or charming, just entitled and lazy. The environment didn’t help. The restaurant felt grimy, rodent infested, and poorly kept, which made the staff’s attitude even harder to tolerate. When you combine questionable cleanliness with zero customer care, it really makes you wonder how this place is still operating. For somewhere that depends on paying customers, you’d think basic politeness wouldn’t be such a stretch. Apparently it is. Plenty of better, cleaner, friendlier options nearby. I’d recommend choosing literally any of them. Nice of the establishment to respond. Try to take accountability please. I saw a rat in the ladies’ room, which is beyond unacceptable for a place serving food. Customers deserve basic cleanliness and safety.
