Opinions de The DL New York
My visit to The DL, specifically their rooftop lounge, was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed. Arriving a bit later in the evening, I found the line manageable, and the ambiance on the rooftop was immediately appealing. It started off with a relaxed vibe, but by 1 AM, the place was buzzing with energy. I particularly appreciated the mixed crowd; while there were plenty of people in their 20s, I met many in their 30s and older, which made for a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere. The DJ kept the energy high, playing a fantastic mix of old club classics and new hits, along with top 40s, R&B, popular hip hop, and LatinX. While I sometimes wished songs would play a bit longer, the overall selection was great for dancing. The staff were polite and attentive throughout the night, ensuring drinks were served efficiently. There's also a convenient balcony area for those who smoke. While the main dining area and bar seemed to offer a full experience, I noted that food on the rooftop lounge appeared to be tied to bottle service, and the kitchen might close earlier for general orders, which is something to keep in mind. Despite this, the drinks were well-made, and the overall presentation upon entering the rooftop was impressive. I had a genuinely good time and would love to return, perhaps for a daytime brunch or an after-work party, to experience a different side of this vibrant NYC spot.
So this was my second time pulling up to Kompa Tuesdays, and it honestly gets better every time. The vibe was unmatched—smooth Kompa music all night, good energy, and people actually came to dance and enjoy themselves. It felt like a little escape from the usual NYC scene. The crowd was mature, stylish, and full of good vibes. Drinks were strong, the DJ didn’t miss once, and I left with my legs sore from dancing (again 😅). This is officially a weekly tradition for me now. If you haven’t been, you’re seriously missing out.
A good place to spend an evening in! We really loved the staff, i swear they made our night 10x better. Especially grateful to a bartender Denise and Juliet from security! for taking care of us also dj was playing good songs
It was a great night with my wife and friends. Great music, vibes. Shout out to the bartenders that did a great job
If you are over 40 and/or Gen X who likes to go dancing sometimes this is a fun place to do it. Going before 11 pm was key because we were able to get a lounge seat next to the dance floor. I don’t know about the drink service for certain but I’m guessing its good because every time one of the men went to get drinks they came back pretty quick, probably because they recognized them and returned frequently enough. I felt this was the perfect set up because when the dance floor got more crowded we were able to dance beside the sitting area. We probably stayed until about 1:30 and had so much fun dancing. The music was a mix with top 40s, R&B, popular hip hop and LatinX, down through early 2000s. We did not feel weird at all while most there were ages 20s to 30s, with a few older here and there. Highly recommend.
My favorite club in the Lower East Side, maybe all of NYC!! This place is SOOO gorgeous, especially the rooftop. Great view of the city too. Beautiful people, great cocktails, awesome music! I will be back very soon!
Such a vibe! The DJ was on point, food was great, drinks flowing. $65 for a brunch. Open bar for 2 hours. Felt like Sunday Rooftop before Covid 19. They have the necessary Covid precautions while you enjoy your time around people. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Will revisit throughout the summer months.
This wonderful establishment that has 3 floors of energizing music for everyone to do their typical 2 steps or act like that cool person who you would find on SoulTrain or purchase one of DL drinks and smooth talk that special person. Whatever you desire, you will have fun at this rooftop place. The place has a tropical look, so I am guessing it suppose to represent that summertime feel; it worked because I didn't realize it was drizzling outside. I know this place must be a wonderful place to visit during summer 2014, so I know I will be back soon. Today was a day for unexpected rain, but it is okay because Yelper knows how to party and represent a company the right way. Let dig deeper and explore this spot out. The staff is fantastic and makes awesome drinks that hard to refuse to get one more. What did they put in the drink? Man, I just don't know. If you are a smoker and you want to hang outside to smoke a Newport, I strongly recommend you to visit the 3rd floor where to enjoy the life of the party. IF you need that smoke break, there is a section for smokers too. The food tastes great and that I will not big up everywhere because no one can beat my mother's cooking. I took a bite into the mini cheeseburger, and boom, two hands already want to grab more. The spring rolls are wonderful too that I needed to know if I am in a Thai restaurant and not at a party. Checking, checking... Nope, it is the DL spot! One more drink please, I love this place. The staff are quite helpful and look to answer any questions you may have. So do not get shy now, because if you are, go grab another drink and come back once you see rainbow-colored flowers. We trying to get twisted, sing Bob Marley songs, and yelp! How would I rate this place: I would rate this place 10/10 base on today's event. They don't have a cover charge, which can be better than that! We are jamming!
The DL Lounge is definitely a beautiful place to enjoy KOMPA music and some Haitian food. KOMPA TUESDAYS is legitimate. A fashion runway for the ladies, and a shoe game battle for gentlemen - dress sharp.
Great location. Ambiance is amazing and very spacious for any occasion.
This is such a beautiful nightout spot! It doesnt seen much from outside but the 2nd and 3rd floor is all party. 2nd floor requires special access but the 3rd floor is an indoor roof top with all glass and glass high ceilings. The whole entire place has live plants hanging with trees and vines. It feels like I walked into a magical indoor garden. The DJ was amazing and the music was so good. Drinks are standard NY price. A great night out spot. Everything is so beautiful!
Roxy was amazing, she made our anniversary more special. Normally I would be skeptical to come here for such an occasion but my partner wanted something different. I love the beets salad and the halibut was delish. Thank you Roxy you re the actual icing on the cake for this experience
This place is a wonderful rooftop lounge! 🥂 The DL has a great ambience 🎶 and is beautifully decorated! 🛋️ This spot is perfect for a party 🎉, corporate event 💼, or meetup! 🤝 I wish I came here more often!
Great bar, good entertainment, 3 floors, drinks, and fashion shows every month. Diverse crowd, friendly.
So my party of 13 and I had dinner here for my besties brida shower. The food was amazing, the service was really great and Thom was super responsive to all my emails and prep in the days leading up to our soirée. After dinner we made our way to the 2nd floor and rooftop. Such fun. The DJ’s on each floor played al the best music. Highly recommended
Tonight was the @QuietEvents 🎧 party on the 2nd floor. It was packed at around midnight. Open Rooftop with AC!!! Awesome spot to dance, chill or have a drink. The rooftop doesn't event feel like one as they have access blowing on you making any night perfect!
Great ambiance and spot overall! I understand there's different events taking place here, I primarily go for Kompa Tuesday which pays homage to my Haitian heritage. It's always a vibe between the environment music and people. Highly recommend The DL to anyone looking to have a good time 👍
Legit spot. DJd the Red Room and generally has a jumpin and vibrant environment. I would check it out! But only if you are ready to dance.
Me and my wife definitely enjoyed the vibes and the music here! After a long time we actually had fun dancing and just relaxing. We went for a sundowner, so it was more chill also.
Kompa Tuesdays is a stress reliever. Good music, good vibes, good food. Ambiance is 💯
I came here as part of an online group meetup. I got there a little late but the host was still able to get me in. I came around 11 and there was hardly a line. I went to the rooftop party and it was great. It was almost empty when I arrived and by 1 is was packed. The ambiance was nice. The crowd was mixed. Mostly 20's but I met many people 30's + . Which was nice since I didn't want to be the only one in that age groups. There is an a balcony area for smoking. I don't smoke but I guess it's convenient for those who do. Staff was polite and attentive. DJ was good. Played a mix the old club classics and new hits. Just wish he would've felt the crowd more and let's some songs play longer. Overall good time. I'd love to come back with friends, preferably in the daytime if they do brunch or after-work party.
Really cute inside. DJ changed the vibe to quickly but was playing bangers so it was decent. First time there so I’ll probably go back with a new DJ.
The decoration of this rooftop bar and restaurant is wonderful and amazing. Look classy from the first floor with tons of chandelier and as you go up until the rooftop is more casual but also very nice. I don't really pay much attention to food and service because I focus on party and entertainment. I don't have any problems about the service yet so this review just on my experience at this place.
It’s a pretty good event space, I came here for an event so I can’t speak to the club but it was really spacious and pretty. The staff was really nice as well and had good drinks
Honestly this would have been a 10 if there were 2 things "COFFEE!!" Coffee for the love of Pete and tables! We were eating breakfast on a coffee table and it was rough after a night of partying 😎. The food was a 10! It was just missing COFFEE!!!! If you don't need coffee or tea and just drink alcohol this is the place for you ☺️. We didn't actually drink we had their orange juice and it was definitely a 10!
I came here for my friends bday party. The entrance was not difficult and they also provide coat checks. The dance floor is nice and also fun music. The drinks is also very tasty and order a lot. We also reserve a table and the guards are pretty strict not letting other people enter which is nice. The bathroom is terrible but overall a nice place for fun
I attend a special event for Gay Pride, The Bliss party. Everything about the day/evening was spectacular. The staff was amazing. The event organizers were great and security was awesome. Each person I had contact with, that was involved with putting this on, was so great. Shout out to, Irene. The space was nicely done, especially the rooftop area. The food was amazing. I recommend this place for events, or just a great dinner. I recommend the Pork chop, NY Strip, and Trout. Dinner on Ludlow is spectacular.
Went here for an R&B day party. It was O.K. Really nothing to write home about. The bar was beautiful and you didn’t have to wait for your drinks for too long. The staff were friendly and the host was warm and inviting. One patron was falling down drunk however security rushed over to help him up & ushered him to safety. They didn’t make a whole “scene” about it. There were not a lot of places to take scenic photos so you had to get creative and find your own hidden gems with enough lighting. The Dj’s were good enough however Im learning that these “young” Dj’s really don’t know how to mix/blend songs. The Dj’s literally play a song & cut it off bluntly without setting up the next song to blend seamlessly into their next selection. They also didn’t have a great grasp of what R&B is lol. They played EVERYTHING from Reggae, Afrobeat, Rap and BET CLASSICS LOL (Bands). All in all it was a good time, very moderately crowded with enough room to not feel smothered when you danced. Also note the restrooms are UNISEX w/a bathroom attendant.
I really liked this place it was full of plants. They have enough seating indoor and outdoor. Good music and great drinks. Would definitely recommend on a weekend.
Was here for a friends birthday in a private section with bottle service. It was really hot in there but the rooftop was open and it was a hot night. Vibe seemed pretty cool in there but we really only stuck to our private section. Music was pretty good. I'd come back!
I really enjoyed the rooftop lounge at The DL. Beautiful views of Manhattan 🌆 Great mix of people — not just 20s, but 40s+ too, which made it feel inclusive. The DJ kept the energy high with a solid mix of old club classics, R&B, hip hop, LatinX, and top 40s. Drinks were pricey 🫰🏻 but excellent 🍹 Overall, a vibrant NYC spot I’d happily return to.
We did NYE 2025 here. Dude fest. Stairs up and down to get to bathroom. Nice outdoor patio. Main dance floor is not that big. The bar takes up most of the top floor. Bartenders were great.
I attended a private event and while the hosts of the event made sure the atmosphere was great, the service was subpar. The bartenders tried their best to keep up, however, the drinks were not full. It’s not about the price as you expect to pay a decent price for a drink ($21 w/mandatory gratuity included) but the glass was not full. Another caveat, it was very muggy after a rain. There needs to be more air conditioning along with fans. Coupled with a full house, everyone was HOT. I was told that it was not sealed; when it rained, it rained outside. Also, is there wheelchair accessibility? There are a lot of stairs and no elevator access.
Nice spot! I love the decor, the food and the fantastic konpa music. The saxophone guy makes the vibe even better! I'd give a 1 star for the bar tho because one of the yt guys charged me $11 for a $6 Shirley temple drink twice; That's no coincidence: He must do that often. Plus when I told him what he knew he did, he apologized but didn't give no refund and was trying to avoid the situation going to the opposite side of the bar and answering with some type of pressure.
We first started our night in the main dining area/ bar! It is definitely 5 stars! Great drinks music atmosphere…but we had then went to the lounge up in the rooftop..ladies it’s a long walk up and down so becareful if wearing heels …great presentation when entering …now the things turned for the worse ….when lounge opens food is only available with bottle service …but they Said the kitchen is closed …we did order drinks and the bartenders are horrible . The music went from too low too too loud …the people attending literally was wearing clothing like they just woke up ..hoodies and sweats .. not a great atmosphere…
We bought tickets which included the check in on the website. When we came there, they charged us $10 per item which was so weird. First they state that the check in for clothes is included in the ticket and then they charge for it on spot. The party was supposed to be til 6 am and they kicked everyone out at 4am. The drinks and decorations were nice.
Hi- if your name is Morgan and are the hostess- who relieved themselves in your Cheerios? We asked you what 5 times about details on when SkyLea would start? First it was they told us the wrong start time. Then it was your manager said they weren’t starting to ‘even set up til 6.’ Then it was no one was allowed up time 7. All the eye rolls, annoyance, passive aggression later and we are able to go up- just to find out we are at the wrong place. Imagine. A tourist two blocks away. A once in a lifetime experience lost to see their family from MI perform in NYC when you are from PA bc someone with an ego complex could pause to LISTEN to you and HOSTESS. Well, anyhoodle- snickerdoodle, hope when you are in need and don’t even know it someone does their job. One love ❤️ ✌️ Ps- food = excellent. Bartender =excellent. Clean, tasteful, bathrooms awkward.
This place is pretty but there aren’t any views.. it doesn’t have a rooftop… and the whole place reeks of bad breath and BO! Went on a Saturday night and it was full of kids in their early 20’s who have no common sense and stop at the top of the staircase to yell with their friends while there’s a huge line of people waiting to get up. (Lots of this) and the dj sucked. Went for house music but he was playing top 40, which appealed to the crowd. The DL needs to crack a window.. it smelled so bad and is for a young dumb crowd.. I had to leave but the doorman was super nice.
Horrible experience at this location. Security guards were extremely rude, aggressive and condescending. Unfortunately after further observation we realized that their behavior towards us seemed to be racially motivated. As a person of color, one might infer that this establishment caters to a certain demographic and group of people. Would not recommend this location to anybody!
I came here with my friends, and one of them had booked a reservation for her group, which was declined upon our arrival. We were then told to rely on rooftop availability, even though the rooftop is not affiliated with the hotel. This was extremely unprofessional and irresponsible, as a business should not accept reservations only to decline them later.
The atmosphere is really nice. The music was jumping. The only reason why I gave a bad review is because they made us wait outside for 45 minutes for no reason on Juvet.! When I got inside, after not watching anybody leave, there was more than enough room for the amount of people that was waiting on the line with me. I hate when the clubs make you wait to hype up the party scene even more, especially when the place is already hyped up on its own because it was a nice crowd. In my opinion, if a club has you waiting on a long line after 1 AM, you should not be popping bottles, You might as well buy your drinks and wait to pop bottles afterwards. The drinks were around $18 and was not strong. The rooftop literally is two flights up these long stairs with No elevator & only one way in and out the Building
Hate this place, staff was extremely pretentious. Never again. Security made me feel super uncomfortable absolutely horrible establishment.
Tried to go here for a night out, ID scanned in front of my face, I’m over 21 btw then got denied because they said I looked too young and because I was short. I guess you guys hate pretty people could tell by the crowd you were letting in.
Waited over an hour for wings during a Super Bowl event. Staff were dismissive about the whole thing and we didn’t even receive an apology. Certainly not ideal ☹️
They are horrible they are genuinely awful with people who are trying to have a good time! Would not recommend to anyone! Would recommend another spot!!
Came here for Benito bowl only to be reminded why club culture is dying. The tickets dirt cheap Alr no issues, coat check was 7$ not exactly jazzed about that but okay. Now for the drinks and bathroom. Why am I tipping a MAN, in the restroom to hand me a damn towel and a piece of candy. Then the drinks I didn’t get one but my friend did and she got 90% vodka and 10% Juice which sounds great for alcoholics but not for regular drinkers. Oh did I mention it was 18$ and it was in a plastic cup and small. It legit looked like the cookout cups you get at bbqs just a little smaller. Now for food there’s none. Don’t expect it and come full. For sections, I was unaware of sections as a result there was a horrible lack of seating felt really bad for anyone on the older side who prolly wanted to sit and watch the game. And finally for the atmosphere the music was entirely too loud they played loud music purposely through the first little half of the game and it was impossible to hear anything and then they randomly cut in the audio for the game time???? Do better dj. Regardless come to this club at your discretion but be aware of what’s to come.
I went to the DL twice and both times the music and atmosphere were great but the customer service was honestly really horrible! The menu pricing said one price and when I got the bill everything was increased. When questioned the waitress went to inquire with the manager and never returned. When I finally got a hold of her, she stated that she just works there and couldn’t help. From there I just received poor service with negative attitudes from staff, both times with increased price issues.
This place has potential but the crowd is abyssmal, the service was atrocious. Waited over an hour for food and the staff was super rude. Dismissive and uneducated about food allergies . When you pay for an event and for a service you expect to be treated with respect. They had to close the kitchen because they couldn’t handle the crowds and were giving the wrong food to people . I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
They say they have reggaeton Fridays at 10pm, we got there and wouldn’t play reggaeton and then got told that the party was at the first floor at 12pm (on the ticket it said on the third floor at 10pm) and then at 12 it was just dead so we had to leave and we wasted the whole night. Also they put pictures of the third floor like the party is going to be there and then it’s not even there.
My three cousins and I had dinner at the downstairs restaurant in DL Lounge and had an amazing time—bartender Lisa was friendly, attentive, and truly made our night enjoyable. Unfortunately, things went downhill once we went upstairs. When we asked bartender Brian for three tequila shots, he chilled one shot, then served us diluted tequila while charging us for all three. When we questioned him, he brushed it off saying he was “just trying to make it chilled.” We felt robbed, disrespected, and completely disappointed. We will not be coming back here again.
