Opinions de Vin Sur Vingt New York
The food is absolutely worth the price. Every dish was well-prepared, flavorful and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were generous and the quality exceeded expectations. A great value for a satisfying and enjoyable meal and good service.
Great drinks, great food! Great vibes! Plus, you can find a wide variety of wines and their amazing and delicious dessert. Very friendly.
Grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. Onion soup was ok, cheese shell was so hard that I could not pinch a hole. After this difficulty, soup underneath was great. Chocolate mousse was not too sweat, with enough flavors to make a great dessert. Overall, this place provides one of the best deals in NYC
Great date spot - food was really light and delicious. Service was friendly and fast. Really enjoyed the wine selection. Would go again.
Wonderful dining experience! The staff was so welcoming and kind. They were very accommodating to a gluten allergy. Good wine and excellent authentic French food. Will definitely be returning! Really enjoyed the roasted oysters and salmon tartare apps!
Chef David is a genius. The Brussels sprouts salad, believe it or not, is to die for. Everything on the menu is amazing. Beautiful atmosphere. You feel like you're in Paris

We dined here two nights in a row! That good! If you’re longing for a real French bistro experience with an amazing server (Celia), this is it! and great wine selection!
lovely meal with lovely staff! we ordered across the menu - red wine and white wine, duck confit salad, French onion soup, fondue, the salmon, steak frites, and crème brûlée and champagne to end! we didn’t realize there was a happy hour when we arrived, so we all enjoyed $10/glass wine to start. i personally did the prix fixe for $50 where i got an appetizer, entree, and dessert and they were all full size and fresh and delicious. the steak frites was a very generous serving and definitely enough for 2 people. the vibe was so warm and cozy and felt like we were in montmartre! will definitely be back!
I took a chance and popped in early without a booking. I’m so glad I did. The best escargot I can remember having & mussels that were outstanding. You can’t go wrong with a set menu. The music is so pleasing—not too loud. Highly recommend.
Great and cosy place ! Not too much seats , small bar. They only serve wine and they have a very nice selection . The food is so tasty, the beef bourguignon is amazing ! We will be back soon !
Fabulous spot for a date night, large group, or solo dinner. Had a fabulous meal with the most amazing waiter, Alexandre! Great wine selection, entrees, and desserts. 15/10 stars!
Great spot to share a bottle of GOOD wine - whether with dinner, or popping in for the affordable late happy hour deal. Made us happy to see European wine options!
Came here on a date. I've been to other Vin Sur Vingt locations before, but it was my first time at this Midtown East Bistro. The weather's been beautiful, so the atmosphere of course was great. The food was delicious. But truly the best part of my dining experience was Jimmy. He was so kind, attentive, caring and just an exemplary gentleman. Very knowledgeable about the food and extensive wine list. I've been living in NY for 7+ years, going out to dinner with friends is one of our top favorite activities, but Jimmy's service was certainly top 10 out of hundreds, maybe even thousands of dining experiences. VSV - y'all are lucky to have him! Jimmy - thank you for the fantastic evening!
An absolute gem in Midtown, this renowned French address on 51st Street feels like a true escape to Paris. From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming service makes you feel at home, setting the tone for a memorable experience. The cuisine is outstanding — every dish we tried was beautifully prepared, deeply flavorful, and rooted in authentic French tradition. You can truly taste the care and craftsmanship in each plate. The wine program deserves special recognition. The by-the-glass selection is exceptional, showcasing classic French regions with bottles that are clearly chosen with precision and a deep respect for quality. It’s rare to find such a thoughtfully curated selection available by the glass. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their hospitality, and a special mention to Célia, who is the true soul of the house and makes every guest feel special. I will absolutely be back.

Victor helped us select the perfect bottle for our meal- which was beyond delicious. Vibrant atmosphere, and amazing dessert!

one of the best french restaurant . They have a great choose of french wine . Some of them are amazing. service is very nice, live the waitress
Food was great and cozy on a rainy night. Our server Marianne was a delight! She had an ease about her and made our dining experience lovely.
AMAZING NIGHT ! Birthday night with my friends. We loved the wines, the food was traditional and on top of the French restaurant that I use to try before. And the waitress (Celia) was amazing, full of stories about Bordeaux and Bordeaux’s countryside. So I just want to say thank you. I really recommend Vin sur Vingt.

TLDR: Drinks were great, food not worth it. Price doesn't justify the food in my opinion. Went after work yesterday because I heard good things and honestly the wine was GOOD I got proper tipsy and the wine options were great. Plus I still made happy hour so the drinks were affordable. The food though... I got a charcuterie board and was just expecting more. I think they charged me $14 for a literal piece of cheese lmao and gave me a tea spoon of jelly and mustard and 3 little pieces of pickle? Felt embarrassing to call it a charcuterie board, I've had way better in the city for way less - like The Lauvaux, etc. Anyways I thought maybe it was a fluke and ordered the duck confitt to give it another chance and that also fell flat... at the end of the night I was left with a $80 bill and was still starving so had to buy a burger at a local spot. Would've been a bad review but THE STAFF were LOVELY <3 every person had a positive attitude and made a warm environment. Also the restaurant is super cozy (went to the one in Chelsea) My recommendation is to go with friends or a date to DRINK and catch up. Will try the West Village location to maybe give it another chance.
I had both positive and negative experience here. We came once during the week for drinks and didn't have a problem. Service was great, atmosphere was perfect. Had a wonderful time. Later, on a Saturday night, were were turned away from the establishment. Not because they didn't have availability, but because "we are not seating for drinks only tonight - food must be purchased". That left a bad taste in my mouth.

Our second visit to Vin Sur Vingt - and unfortunately has gone a bit downhill since our previous visit. Service was a bit slow - it felt like they should have had more servers. We were ready to get a nice bottle of red (a Bordeaux), but neither of the bottles we wanted were available - disappointing from a wine bar. Food was ok - not quite as outstanding as our first visit last year. Our steak was cooked to our request (medium), however the outside was charred (in a bad way- the burnt taste came through). The moules were very good. We wish service had been a bit more attentive (it also didn’t help that they sat us beside a group with an unruly toddler who ended up throwing her bottle at my wife and hitting her in the face - not the restaurants fault, but definitely put a damper on the experience).
The service and atmosphere were great. It was very cold in the restaurant- they were not using the hit, hoping that hit from the kitchen will be enough- it was NOT! Escargot were burned and looks like done at least in the morning, not now. Franch fries was not "franch " stile - potato was not peeled. Stake was good, although portion was so small - probably due to restaurant week special. Noce place, but not coming back - plenty of other/better options.
This is unreal, waiter smoking outside in front of the restaurant. I ordered a steak tartare, which I love to make, no taste no cornichon, so seasonings, what a shame. Price $36.00! And the chef is at the bar doing nothing, looking at me. This place is a joke, please avoid this touristic trap.
