Tanya is the best, this place has hands down the best breakfast ever my absolute favorite the customer service is number one the food is the best quality the atmosphere everything first class all the way highly recommended. UPDATE- 1.24 I was just there a few days ago and thought I would try something different so I got the banana pancakes and I knew they would be good but oh my God absolutely amazing like seriously amazing!!!
Wanted to get a nice brunch last weekend and decided to go to stacks. I got the pancakes and an omelette and it was delicious. The electric purple smoothie is also one of the best smoothies I have had. Definitely would recommend.
Nice location, fantastic food not just pancakes. I had crab eggs flourentine. My wife had oatmeal it came out like a gourmet meal, loaded with fruit. I higjly recommend will be back if I visit NewPort Beach again. Oh, easy parking too.
I remembered going to one of the locations and it was super busy. I just don't remember what i ordered. I didn't know there was another location literally one exit away and so I was happy that I had another one closer. This place was so good. I had the kalua pork eggs benedict, the Hawaiian Latte, and my friend got the waffle and chicken and something else I forgot. But we loved everything. It was so good and I definitely want to try more dishes like their pancakes. The other place had other items that had oxtail. I definitely wish this location had it. Very small restaurant for dining in and every table was taken.
Great waffles and crepe. Great spot and service. Love the outdoor seating. Took our water polo team there. The kids had fun.
We ate outdoors and you walk up and order so the rating on the atmosphere and Service is a little tricky. There are a lot of tables outdoors and the indoor eating is rather small. We ordered omelette and they looked rather strange. They appeared to be kind of Brown and overcooked but in fact they were moist and very good! My omelette had the Hawaiian pork. It seems like a crazy combination but the pork was really good . It came with potato chunks which I think we’re deep fried but they were very good! It was hard to resist eating them What’s stood out to me the most where the blueberry pancakes! I don’t eat pancakes often but if we can we will get one and Share. Often I don’t want the pancakes because of flavor of the pancakes the restaurants offer is not good. It has very much a package taste or ? Stacks pancakes were exceptional. The flavor was excellent, like a very tasty homemade pancake. They were light and fluffy and they offer real butter! I Early look forward to returning to this restaurant. Unfortunately it’s not near me so I’ll have to make a special trip.
I went here during Sunday brunch hour and was pleasantly surprised—it wasn’t super busy, and our food came out quickly. I chose this restaurant for the ube pancakes and the ube latte, and they did not disappoint. Both were beautifully made, flavorful, and so yummy. The staff was very friendly and patient, answering all of my questions with a smile. I came with my family, and there was truly something for everyone. They have a kids menu and gluten/dairy‑free pancakes made with water instead of milk. You order at the register and then grab a seat, and there are plenty of tables in the outdoor area if you prefer to eat outside. Overall, it was a stress‑free, delicious experience for the whole family. We’ll definitely be back!
This site provides a tranquil environment, complemented by a water fountain that enhances the scenery. The breakfast menu is rated 5 ✨️, featuring clean, delectable dishes with a diverse range of options to meet various dietary requirements.
We stopped here for breakfast during our trip. Fun and cozy spot! It's in an outdoor shopping area, and there is lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a very comfortable spot, with a beautiful shared patio. We shared heuvos rancheros (which we both loved a lot) and some berry waffles for dessert. Food came out quickly and was very filling. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Overall a great spot to stop for breakfast.
First time trying our Stacks pancake house. We weren't too hungry, so hubby and I decided to share a meat lovers omelette with spinach added and our side upgraded to Ube pancakes, which came with 2 pancakes. I also ordered a Hot Hawaiian Latte to try. Everything was delicious. We came about 8:00 am on a Saturday, and there were a good number of people already. A good amount of seating inside, but plenty of seating outside. You order at the counter, and then they bring your food out to you. Service was excellent, efficient, and food came out fairly quickly. My Hawaiian latte had to go back for a new one as my cup was filthy dirty! They were quick to replace it with a fresh one in a clean cup! I loved my Ube pancakes as it was just the right sweetness. The texture of the pancakes was similar to mochi pancakes so it made it even more yummy! You definitely want to try this place if you are in the area!
Great breakfast spot! Had an excellent breakfast here! The food was delicious, and the place has a beautiful and cozy atmosphere. A great choice for a relaxing morning meal. Highly recommend!
Fun breakfast place with great out door seating with heaters as well as some space inside to sit as well. We ordered the Bacon combo, Strawberry Belgium Waffle as well as French Toast. The strawberry waffle does not skimp on strawberries you will have enough for every bite. The eggs were cooked well and the French toast was crispy and lite. Would order all again.
We were looking for a brunch place and this checked all our boxes. We chose this place because it has general breakfast food as well as burgers and related items. Overall we had a great time and the food came out great. I highly recommend the burger and pancakes. We will definitely be back when in the area.
Authentic Hawaiian style breakfast foods. This is the second location, which has a lager outdoor seating are. Absolutely love this restaurant, and the friendly staff. Just like eating in Hawaii! Be sure to order the Lava pancakes: banana and macadamia nut sauce. Absolutely amazing taste! I also recommend their traditional Portuguese sausage, eggs and upgrade to fried rice!
Phenomenal food! Everything here was lovely, from the atmosphere, and to the food. My omelette and pancakes were incredible! The French toast was a little dry, but okay. Great hot chocolate, and great crepes as well!
Great spot for breakfast favorites from the Aloha state. Arrive early, there’s often a line and seating is first come first serve. Outdoor seating on the patio is great, and they will bring the food out to you. You don’t need to choose between sweet and savory. If you get an omelette you can get a small stack of pancakes as a side. Their boysenberry syrup is amazing. If you want just sweet the white lava pancakes are amazing. The macadamia sauce is to die for. Drinks tend to be a little sweet but if you like tropical fruit juice try the island iced tea.

The food portions were large and service was great, they brought me all the condiments. I love eating out on the patio. Free water and to go boxes. Thanks, MM

Finally revisited after 2-3 years... Love this place! Everything was just as we remembered. The Captain Crunch Mac Nut French toast is divine! As is the banana Mac pancakes. We got savory dishes as well, the chorizo plate and the Spam and fried rice. They were excellent. The BEST part, aside from the food, is the heated patio. On the cool, foggy day we visited, it made sitting outside enjoyable.
Breakfast at Stacks was great - our party of six all liked it. We sat outdoors in the nice seating area. It has heaters, so we were comfortable even though it was cool out. I had the blueberry waffle - great! - along with bacon and eggs.

Planned an early morning breakfast with my bestie before Christmas here. It was a little hard to find, for some reason Google tried to send us to one in Irvine. Really small indoors but generous shared outdoor seating. The menu had all the good breakfast stuff. We chose oreo pancakes and eggs benedict to share along with two coffees. Coffee was refillable if you went back up to the counter. The best thing about the meal were those oreo pancakes! Light, fluffy, just sweet enough, with oreo through the pancake and topping. I could have eaten another order, they were lovely. The eggs benny was solid, good hollandaise sauce served with a side of potatoes. Overall, great spot.
Stacks was good but could have been better. I had seen videos of other locations that really had me sold. Everything we had was very average and plain. We easily could Have found it at our local pancake joint. Also they were late in getting me my iced coffee. It wasn’t brought out until near the end of the meal. It wasn’t a huge deal, but I would have thought a breakfast place would be more on top of getting coffee in people.
I do enjoy this place and do a ton of meetings here. Good food, great atmosphere and outdoor seating. Easy to find and no wait.
Nice place to eat with good food. It is a counter service, so they are all food runners and not waiters. I'm not a fan of this. I would be if it sped things up, but it doesn't. I had standard buttermilk pancakes and a side of spam. It was good but nothing stellar. Butter was in individual packets and cold. Food came out separate and not at the same time. I am going to go back to try one of their specialties and change the review if things are different.
Better location than the one in El Monte. Was in Orange County with my boyfriend for a staycation during Labor Day weekend and decided to give this location a try. It was definitely better. The kalbi was delicious, flavorful and tender. The eggs were cooked well, and runny. The loco moco was good. The beef patty itself was a bit overcooked and dry. Still had great flavor and egg was runny as well. Overall, great experience, lots of seating inside and outside. I do recommend sitting outside if you don't care about flys as inside was pretty warm.
Amazing place with cool sit out. I guess I had around 16 people whom I hanged out and had good food at this location. Customer service was cool. I had good smoothie and Hawain coffee - tasted great. Pancakes were awesome too. Good treat of brunch food.potatoes were just deep fried they had no flavors. They do not have hash browns. Potatoe tots are available as well.
Our first visit here and the name caught our attention to try it. After we ordered we were told was to go only. It wasn’t a problem as there was outdoor seating & was a nice day to be outside. We found a table & was dirty from someone previously & we cleaned ourselves. Later after we finished eating someone came & started cleaning tables. I had California Eggs Benedict with applewood bacon and Turkey & came with potatoes. My wife had regular stack buttermilk pancakes. I had coffee and my wife had fresh squeezed orange juice. The prices were reasonable and didn’t take long to prepare. There were a lot of employees working. We both enjoyed our food-was good, not spectacular.

At first I wasn't in love with this place, because at the end of the day it's just overpriced pancakes, bad crepes, etc, but after a few times I found one specific order that I enjoyed (Oreo pancakes with white lava sauce and macadamia nuts) that was great. It only cost $18 though... You used to be able to ask for the white lava sauce on the side and get it for free, but now they just give a tiny portion. I would give
Overall, it was okay. Maybe I got a bad menu item (spicy chicken + bacon waffle) but it was meh to me. There was way too much cheese, and I felt like the flavors didn't mesh well. The chicken katsu and waffle were good on their own, and their syrup is good too. The service was okay too, not really welcoming/kind but not too rude either. (It was 40 minutes til closing tho). If I do come back, I'd likely just get the waffles and that's it.
Pancakes are good - hints the name Stacks, but mexican food lacks in flavor. Which is understandable considering the Newport clientele. We'll definitely be back when in the area for the pancakes.
Good food but big brand fail in that your name is about pancakes and to not offer real maple syrup is a huge miss. Even as an upsell, which by the way, people will pay for, will improve your customer experience AND increase revenue. And I would say to put ‘syrup’ on the table that is HFCS, it should be labeled as such.
Most of the food is ok- but in a very honest opinion, the hype and prices are too high for the end product. We ordered a bit of everything to sample and the waffles and pancakes were not, the French toast was ok and the Hawaiian bread was a nice sweet addition, and the eggs were oily but ok. Portions were generous but price for the taste and quality was a bit unbalanced.
Tbh the food was a little plain and tasted a little bland even with their green salsa poured over it. Even the green salsa is so mild and bland. But there are healthy options on the menu. Service was good. Food came out quickly and hot.

There is plenty of seating outside and it super cozy and clean. This shopping center is very aupdated and well settled up with cozy sofas for your convenience. Hate to leave this review but their Uber pancakes weren't what I expected. The une cream they give you for the pancakes is just made of pure color paint, I didn't tried much of the menu after disliking their food.

Wouldn’t recommend. The pancakes are ok, but you can get better at other restaurants. We ordered a teriyaki bowl, a strawberry pancake and mac nut banana pancakes. The Teriyaki bowl was terrible. The chicken was dry but at the same time completely drenched in teriyaki sauce. The Teriyaki sauce was extremely sweet. The pancakes were nothing special. The strawberry pancakes were just regular pancakes with diced strawberries and whipped cream on top. Nothing else, nothing special. The Mac Nut Banana pancakes were not bad. They had a coconut sauce on the side and I did like that. The good thing about this restaurant was that they served our food quickly and the servers were nice. The outdoor sitting is very enjoyable too. However, I won’t be going back. The food was not really worth the price.
Avoid this Bison location and go to the Irvine restaurant. The Captain Mac nut French toast was excellent (but it came out 10 mins after the rest of our order). Everything else was mid at best. The Katsu was scorched so badly the chicken inside was shriveled up, and when I took it back and asked i this is how they always cook it I was told it was made fresh for my order. The atmosphere inside is fine if you find a seat. The outside seating is always overcrowded with entitled teenagers.
Food is not good for the last few times I ate there. Avocados definitely are old, tortillas are not fresh, some were molded, and I am not sure if they use fresh eggs and beans. Taste of food is no longer good as I had experience in the last year. Managers, please improve your food quality!
