Really great first impression. It was in the middle of the week around 4/5 pm. Very empty but that didn’t distract from the food. Everything we ate here was super yummy. We got 3 apps and each had a few tacos. Im definitely coming back here soon.
Wild Taco, give me all the tacos, all the flavors, and every margarita on the menu. This place never disappoints. Each visit feels like a celebration, from the first bite to the last sip. The tacos are bold and full of personality, the kind that remind you how fun food can be when it is done right. The margaritas are fresh, bright, and dangerously easy to love. The vibe matches the food, lively without being overdone, casual but with just enough edge to make it feel special. Every time I am in town, Wild Taco is on the list, a place that guarantees great flavors, great energy, and a craving for the next visit before you even leave.
Really nice restaurant offering indoor/outdoor dining. We had a very enjoyable lunch. Staff was great and food was delicious 😋.
First time trying the cute little Mexican casual restaurant on balboa peninsula. Emma was our server and she was very helpful. She told us that this place is owned by Bear Flag that has a store next to it and is the location of the original bear flag. We ordered their nachos with carnitas, the red snapper skillet and their steak fajitas with a pint of cerveza. They were all amazing. Good size. I am a nachos affacinado and these nachos were awesome. Food 5, ambiance 5, service 5. Will visit again.
My friend Nick and I stopped there for a late lunch. We were greeted with a big smile from our waitress. We sat at a table inside and they have outside dining as well. We ordered chips, guacamole, and salsa to start. It was happy hour, so I had a watermelon margarita Nick had a hazy IPA. We then ordered street tacos. The Carnitas tacos were small, but they were very good. Street tacos are always small. Our waitress was friendly, very knowledgeable and also cute. I left a 20% tip because we had a great lunch and the waitress did a good job. When you get good food and fantastic service don’t forget to leave a good tip! I would highly recommend Wild Taco.
Awesome place. Good tacos, good margs, good service.
I loved and enjoyed this place very much. The vibe is alive, food is amazing and the staff is on top of their game and super friendly. The shrimp tacos I order it came with rice and beans. The tortilla is handmade and thin, Wich I loved! My husbands enchiladas were also amazing. Btw they play great music.
The Al pastor tacos were delicious! I wasn’t crazy about the ceviche, but my wife really liked it!
Three different photos, three different meals in a three day span. I’ve been coming here for the better part of 5 years. Literally my favorite taco joint in the country. The lobster and shrimp tacos are my favorites, their catch of the day is always really good too.
Got this delicious food by delivery. Wow! Very hearty and flavorful. The chicken tortilla soup is chunky, not too salty, and layered with perfect flavors. The shrimp and lobster tacos are devine (deceived? No, divine ✨️) and I ordered the lime cilantro rice on the side. Even the rice was very good! Tasted very fresh. My son's bean and cheese burrito with a small complimentary chips on the side was delicious and he loved it. Picky eater too, even about bean and cheese burritos. I highly recommend this food. I'm sure we will stop in at some point to check out more including margaritas 🍹 😉
This was our second visit to Wild Taco. The first time we loved it so much we brought our friends. The meats were well flavored and well cooked. we had the shrimp, fish of the day, and tri tip tacos...all were good. I wish I could have tried all the other flavors...next trip. We also got the nachos with carne asada, very good and very filling. We got the corn off the cob which came out really salty so it might be better to keep it on the cob. P.S. the fresh lemonade was perfect. We love this place.
Wild Taco is awesome! Staff are so nice and the food is great. My favorite is the Carne Asada Taco!
Been here for years but first time since they did the patio. I brought my pup to sit in that closed off patio. It was a warm patio which is nice. The food was good. I usually order prime rib dip but since it is taco Thursday so we had a bunch of Taco!!! They were good. Also order Mint Splitz cocktail, I didn’t taste the alcohol tho, just syrupy.
Great experience from start to finish! Gavin, the gentle giant in the parking lot was welcoming and immediately made me feel that my car was secure. Trustworthy! Ciera was great on her first day with inspiration from Chelsea. Jeffery got the game I wanted to see from a perfectly comfortable seat. I enjoyed the best Casidia in my life. The steak was juicy and full of flavor! The atmosphere is reminiscent of real Irish pubs on the Emerald Isle itself.
Great Newport local spot with excellent food and drinks. Service is with a smile and I never miss this spot when I'm in town. They just completed a new addition/ enclosed patio for additional seating and TV'S. Looking forward to many good times on the patio.
Malarky’s is Newport Beach’s loud, lovable chaos, an Irish pub colliding with a dive bar and doubling as the ultimate beach-after-party spot. Strong drinks, greasy grub, and harbor views set the scene. Tony’s fast pours and sharper wit keep the place afloat, but it’s his easy charm and top-notch service that will make your night unforgettable. You’ll leave with a story, a regret, or both, but never bored. Stop by for a drink and savor the quintessential SoCal vibe at its finest.
Old Bar and Grill on the peninsula. Good food and drinks. Great location. Its also going thru couple different expansions. The facility is getting upgraded. Just more room for food and drink. Tacos on Thursday are excellent and priced to win. The owner of this place is a high level bar and resturaunt pro. He turns old landmarks into an even better old landmarks. He has a sharp eye for contractor selection and the details it takes to make a place better than it was. Come check it out open during construction. Good amount of parking as well. Kindly J Hille
The best prime rib sandwich you'll ever have. Outdoor seating in the parking lot. Taco Thursday is my new favorite lunch. Salsa bar . They have corned beef tacos. Yummy and delicious. Ok we're trying the Blu cheese burger. I'm back to the prime rib sandwich. Today I wanted the bacon cheeseburger with blue cheese dressing on the side$11.00 very delicious And the garden salad $5. W/ blue cheese dressing ( best blue cheese dressing in the world? And the bartenders are adorable!!! Friendly( no attitude) My new favorite beer Harland hazy I.P.A.
We saw the billboard advertising their Prime Rib Tuesday special so we popped in for dinner, excellent choice! The prime rib was delicious, cooked perfectly and a good portion size, (took home a third!). Baked potato was good, onion rings were thick and crunchy, the chili was excellent and nicely presented in cast iron. My father had the fish and chips and they were delicious and also a hearty portion size. Side salad w/ blue cheese dressing were good too. There is a full bar, great friendly fast service, did congress out of the kitchen HOT much like when dining in Ireland! The prices seem very reasonable, we'd definitely return! 💯 Social distancing, and Covid cleaning is up to snuff and this place seems populate with regulars and they've been here for decades. Nice outdoor seating available. Lots of televisions rubbed to sports. This is a step above most pubs in the states and on par with the best in Ireland! 🤩🍻Thank you to Baily for the friendly, fun high caliber service!! 🥰 Tip your servers generously if you can afford to, these really are tough times for the industry! 👍🍻☮️😷🥰🇺🇲
I had been to the location in Laguna Beach, and had loved it. So, came here this time to try it out again. Small spot with seats at the bar and few tables. The menu has different options but fairly easy to understand. I got the taco combo and tried the carne asada, tri tip and pollo asado. I made some modifications so some extra ingredients were removed but it’s okay. The burrito was apparently really good. All tacos were all good. I was confused by what was the big difference between tri tip and carne asada. The counter was a bit sticky. The service was great. Overall, it’s a great spot. The food is good for an okay price.
Love the vibe. The service can be a challenge when there is only 1 chef and 1 server for the weekday lunch shift. Patio tables and the seats full of sand and food crumbs. My fajita turned out to be a cancer risk lunch plate. It is pet friendly at the patio section which is nice as i am a local and eat out around Newport with my pup. Hope it gets better as my dog loves it here since he was young.
Something a little different for lunch while hanging out in Newport. The tacos were good. Even my taco loving but picky husband said they were good which is saying something. He had pulled pork. I got a mini salad with chicken which was good but not amazing. And it had a few random pieces of jalapeño which really got me since the rest wasnt spicy. We got chips guac and salsa as well. Good chips and guac was good. I thought the salsa was good except too spicy for me. But husband didnt like it much.
Tip top and ya need to Stop here! The tacos and nachos were amazing. Great flavors and lots of fun for the taste buds. Outdoor seating as well. Make sure of you are in the area to stop here!
Solid taco joint. I want to give it more than four stars, but it's not quite a five. Not yet. It's 4.4 right now, but I'm totally going to go back, and I'm sure they will continue to deliver the goods, getting the place to a 4.6/4.7 and warranting a revised rating, rounded to a five. Menu contains more than tacos. On the taco front, there's a good variety, and they sport a fresh catch fish special. Some relatively unique tacos too, like the Potato & Black Bean. Sizes are adequate and meet expectation with the price. You have the option of ala carte or as a platter with rice and beans/salad. Selection of beers is good, and there are non-alcoholic choices as well. Outdoor seating, at the bar, or tables inside - you've got options. Parking nearby, especially if you're willing to walk a block or two. Visit. I think you'll like it.
The catch of the day taco was great! Attentive and courteous waitress. Great price and portion sizes. Atmosphere is okay. No one was attending the booth to seat people however, someone had to be flagged down.
#WildTaco, what a great place to grab delicious, fresh Mexican food. Great ambiance, friendly staff, awesome food and good beer. We had lobster tacos and shrimp fajitas, very well prepared and very delicious. Looking forward to eat here again. #letsguide
Have been coming here for years and have always had a consistent experience. Food and service is good as usual. If you have never had breakfast here, then you need to try. This is a good day spot for drinks as they have an outside patio you can sit at. At night in the weekends I would recommend relocating as it is usually a young crowd that comes in after 9pm and it’s always wall to wall packed with a line that ends down the street. A spot that I grew up going to that is near and dear to my heart. I hope you have the same amazing experiences as I have had.
The day of my visit was St. Patty's day and the place was packed solid. The Guinness was flowing and cold. We had several shots of fireball. The service was running at full speed but was available for everyone there. I didn't have any food so I don't have any comments. I will try some food on my next visit
Grabbed dinner here recently and was surprisingly impressed! I ordered their black and blue burger with steamed veggies and it was delicious. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and burger moist and very flavorful --not quite what I was expecting. The pub itself felt a bit grimy, though what good Irish put isn't? The staff was extremely polite, friendly, and extremely efficient. The prices were very reasonable, in fact, I'd say cheap especially for the area. It's easy to spot from the surrounding streets, and just a quick walk down to the beach. There was limited parking to the side. Overall a great experience and would certainly go back!
Wild Taco in Balboa used to be our favorite, but recent menu changes have been disappointing. The fajitas, once the best in town, now feature shriveled dark meat instead of the fresh white chicken breast we loved. The flavor has diminished significantly, leaving us underwhelmed. We hope they can return to their original quality, but for now, we’re on the lookout for a new go-to spot.
First Visit to this Pub and it was slow at 3:30pm Monday. Ciara was a wonderful server—warm, friendly, and helpful! Vibe is def bar/pub. Got the popcorn chicken (wish I had gotten the pic-I got sidetracked discussing the appearance with the manager, who was very gracious and offered to exchange it). Tiny, tiny pieces, not what I expected, but I didn’t want to waste it…so I kept it and made due. I might try it again and get something else. Good Happy Hour options and Daily Specials. See the menu pictures I posted. There’s a decent amount of parking spots in the side lot marked for this place.
Average breakfast food. The eggs Benedict was nothing special. The hashbrowns are better than the breakfast potatoes. The Chilaquiles were ok. They blend the scrambled eggs into the Chilaquiles. The breakfast sandwich was ok. The chicken fried steak was also just ok, definitely not homemade. The biscuits and gravy are kind of tough. Nothing was bad, but nothing was amazing either.
Probably not a shocker. Stopped here to meet with coworkers prior to dinner at another location. Everyone got their drinks and orders. I just got in and needed some water prior to ordering anything. Asked the first waitress twice and she forgot. She did bring everyone else their drinks. 2nd waitress same thing forgot but brought everyone else their drinks. When I called it out in a firm tone, there was no apology or anything, just “I’ll bring you a water”. Coincidence that I am literally the only minority in the group? Honestly not surprised. If your skin color is anything but white, don’t bother coming here but I know pretty much all of OC knows this. We all decided to get up and leave earlier than expected…. This was during the week at 2-3 pm where it was literally dead, maybe 5 customers total in the location.
First of all they over served a woman to the point she couldn't talk. She waited for a "cousin" who was over eager to addressing her(not her cousin). Which I told the bartender, his reply was "my name is Joe" which wasn't his name obviously. And he picked up a glass bottle to strike me with but I managed to take a photo.
