Bar 'Cino - Newport

Delicious food, excellent service, lovely environment, in a smaller setting restaurant in downtown Newport. Great view of the kitchen so you can see your food being prepared. Great bar, cocktail & wine selection. Had the Sangiovese Rose, bruschetta prosciutto fig goat cheese, grilled broccolini with basil pesto, and the roasted heirloom carrots with orange scented ricotta, Calabrian chile and crushed pistachio. Warm atmosphere, great waitresses staff, definitely recommend the food.

I started my meal with the prosciutto fig bruschetta, which was absolutely sensational – the combination of sweet figs and salty prosciutto was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pizza I ordered was a prosciutto fig pizza with a super thin, grilled crust that was cut with scissors, giving it a unique texture and a delightful crunch. The flavors of the pizza surprised me with how well they blended, each bite better than the last. I then moved on to a spaghetti carbonara that was truly outstanding – creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of peppery bite to bring it all together. It was one of the best versions of carbonara I’ve had in a while. For dessert, I had an affogato that was good but not particularly memorable, and a lemon tart that, while okay, didn’t quite match the exceptional level of everything else we’d had up to that point. All in all, I was genuinely surprised by the overall quality of the food at Barcino – I didn’t expect such a high standard in this spot. From the impressive bruschetta to the excellent pizza and pasta, this meal was a wonderful discovery.

I can see why everyone recommends this place! Super friendly service and the grilled pizza is amazing!! We are from NYC so thin crust pizza is our jam. Loved the sabe on the mushroom pizza. Crispy and so flavorful but not too heavy! We are going again tomorrow before we leave because it’s so good! Loved the pasta choices as well. EDIT We came back another day and ordered the margarita, it was clean and fresh, loved the cheesy crust and the crisp!! The tagliatelle pasta was pesto galore, so happy.

The most delicious food I’ve had in a very long time. I can’t remember the last time I had a meal where I couldn’t stop thinking about it. We came for lunch on new years eve and had the antipasto, cacio e pepe, capanelli, and finished with the pistachio cake and the lemon cake. Everything was a 10/10. Super fresh and light. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Owner/manager came to check on our table twice and refilled out drinks. Highly recommend!!

risotto was great. wife’s wrap was good too. i put in an order to the manager for a refill and it wasnt even that long before he brought it to me but he apologized for the wait and said it was on the house. this is the type of service that sets restaurants apart. also my wife’s coke was flat and they replaced it no charge. the atmosphere is a vibe too. food was fresh and tasty.

I’m so glad I tried Bar ‘Cino in Newport! I actually went two nights in a row — Monday (11/10/25) and Tuesday (11/11/25) — with no expectations, just wanting to try their rigatoni bolognese. Wow… probably one of the best I’ve ever had! It was so good, I had to come back the very next day. The staff there are amazing. From the moment we walked in, the host made sure everything was perfect, even seating us a little earlier than our reservation — such a thoughtful touch. Our servers were fantastic. On Monday, Michaela was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and gave excellent wine recommendations. On Tuesday, Julia was just as incredible — sweet, personable, and made our dinner feel extra special. I can’t wait to go back — not just to say hi to Michaela and Julia, but also for that unforgettable rigatoni bolognese and their heavenly tiramisu. Huge thanks to the whole team for creating such a warm, welcoming atmosphere — it really makes the experience feel special. 🤍

We did the Cliff Walk, trudged through the crowds at The Breakers and Marble House, and were hangry. bar ‘Cino had immediate warm vibes upon entry, even at an early 5:30p holiday Friday time, so much so that we thought we wouldn’t get a table since we had no reservation. But we did get a table, and food, drinks, and service were all terrific. The cocktail menu had unique options and while I never nailed it to find a favorite - after two attempts - my s.o. loved the Holy Smokes cocktail, twice. After warm bread was brought to the table, paired with olive oil already there, we started with the prosciutto bruschetta, which was yummy and very prosciutto forward. We then progressed to hearty entrees to fill us up after walking those thousands of steps through Gilded Age Newport’s remnants. The rigatoni bolognese across the table got good reviews and a cleaned plate and I loved my roasted chicken campanelle. It was light but packed a punch with perfectly cooked pasta, shredded chicken mixed throughout, a nice red sauce, and chile flakes thrown in to give it a kick. A very nicely balanced dish. We left happy and would definitely return to bar ‘Cino (but maybe not the mansions).

Tried the grilled pizza at Bar 'Cino for thr first time. Went with the sausage pizza. Thought it was pretty good. Definitely a unique style of pizza. Had a good crunch and good overall taste. Washed it down with a draft beer. They have a really nice bar set-up. Good service. Nice atmosphere.

My partner and I had dinner here on a busy weekend night around 9pm and service was a little slow but our server was clearly hustling. We weren't super impressed with the volume of gluten free options but we were able to safely eat with celiacs. We had gf pasta, a salad and a braised leek dish (without breadcrumbs) and thought it was pretty good. I also had the "Cleared for Takeoff" cocktail which was yummy.

Food was 4 stars. Service was not friendly and very slow. The pizza was good, really liked the sauce. Past with shrimp was pretty good.
