Food was excellent. We had the poutine, potato pancakes, cheese, onions, and some short ribs. The b and w salad was great, but the scallops with gnocchi was amazing. We needed a side of a bread to get every ounce of the sauce. Server was Emma, great job.
Food was OK. Me personally, I'm not a fan of sweet sauce on my meat. I tried the pork tenderloin my friend ordered and I think it would have been better if it wasn't sweet. Because of that I did not order the salmon or the pork, I saw they will be sweet and I knew I would have been disappointed. I had a burger instead. Showcase burger. My friend had the Hiker burger and the venison chili. He liked the chili a lot. Chips that came with the burgers were over salted to the point that my friend had to dip them in water to eat them. I didn't eat mine, I had ordered mash potatoes anyway, I thought I'm ordering it as a replacement, but they brought both the chips and the mash potatoes. The 2 vegans in our party were happy with their food. They liked some mushroom-based appetizers, bruschetti I think. And some salads and mushroom ravioli. There was quite a wait for the food to come out. Overall I think it was a bit expensive for what it was.
Went for dinner on Father’s Day, everything was great! There is a large menu and while we were all happy with what we ordered, we are excited to come back and try something new! Our server, Emma, was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
We stopped on a Friday night on our way north and we were so glad we did! I had the skirt steak with grilled broccolini and garlic parmesan fries. It was so perfectly prepared - I was kinda shocked. It was elevated to perfection. Seriously! My husband had the pork tenderloin and loved it too.
What a lovely Sunday night dinner! Food was tasty and thought out. Chef was walking around greeting guests and stopped by the table and asked us how we were enjoying our meal. Chicken wings were out of this world! Despite being full we did do dessert which was amazing as well. Can’t wait to stop by for ski season. (Cheers for serving my fave Prosecco, Lamberti :))
Basil and wicks for dinner with out of town family. Had a great meal - the chicken wings were awesome. Emma our server was top notch - she was attentive and made amazing dessert recommendations. We left stuffed and happy. Ask for Emma!
The new Basil and Wick's has quickly established itself as the place to eat in North Creek. Great new menu, consistently great food, family/kid friendly, and top notch staff. The chef stops by our table every time we dine there. And our waitress this last time, Emma, could not have been better!! We'll be eating at Basil and Wick's every time we're in North Creek!!
You must eat at Basil & Wick’s! Such friendly staff, awesome atmosphere and vibes, and of course delicious food. We ate here twice over the weekend and loved everything Basil & Wick’s has to offer. Lots of food options for everyone in your group; some dishes with added flare of unique ingredients. They have TV’s and live bands too for some added fun. Can’t wait to come back!
My husband and I and our two teenagers showed up at 7:00 on Sunday of President’s weekend without reservations. The owner said they were so booked that they stopped answering the phone at 4:00. However, she said she couldn’t turn anyone away so as long as we were patient she would find us a place. 1/2 hour later we were seated for the BEST meal we have had in a long time. The service was phenomenal as well- even though the dining room was packed. If you are in North Creek - don’t miss having a meal at this restaurant!!!
My wife, 11 y.o. daughter, and I had an incredible lunch at Basil & Wick's on Monday July 29, 2019. Rob from Revolution Rail recommended the place after our rail bike adventure and we could not have been more pleased. The hostess and server were professional and incredibly kind. The food was AWESOME. I had The Bacon Blue Burger and it was one of the BEST burgers I'd ever tasted. My wife had the Lettuce Wraps and our daughter had the kid's mac n' cheese, which they also really enjoyed. When we tried to pay, their credit card machine wouldn't process our payment so the hostess came over and informed us the lunch was on the house! We HIGHLY recommend Basil & Wicks both for their EXCELLENT food & service. We hope to return their someday again.
What a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere! We had the Mac & Cheese dinner special and Black Forest Chicken and both were excellent. Service was terrific and attentive. Well worth making this a regular stop - great mix of locals and visitors. Will definitely eat here again.
We dined at Basil and Wick’s last night with a large table of 8. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. drinks came out timely as well as dinner. The Wings with BTrue sauce were great. We had a wide range of dinner items ordered and each smelled better the the next! The scallops and the Short Ribs, terrific! No complaints, only complements on our dining experience! The restaurant was full, I do recommend reservations on the weekends!
We’ve been coming to Basil and Wick’s for years, and this was the best meal we’ve had by far! The mushroom ravioli, salmon with potato pancakes, and chicken wrap sandwich with homemade potato chips were all incredibly delicious. Everything on the menu looked great. Hard to choose! Watermelon mojitos so yummy! For dessert we got raspberry swirl cheesecake and peanut butter pie which were also wonderful. Highly recommend and will be coming back again often.
It's been about 10 years since I ate at Basil and Wick's. In the past, it was ok, and I wasn't in a rush to go back. Tonight was different. The service was great and the food was excellent! I went with a party of 6 - we had drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Everything was SO good, the atmosphere was positive and energetic. And, again, the food was amazing. I'll definitely eat there again soon!
From the minute we walked up to the restaurant until we left, we were impressed. The food was outstanding, the service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Not often can you get a 5 star quality meal in a restaurant that allows a family with young children to feel welcomed, even extremely comfortable. We can't wait to visit again next time we are in town!
Amazing food. Great service and atmosphere
This was only the third time we have been back since Billy started cooking there. Again, the food was amazing. Husband had the Showcase burger which was cooked perfectly the way he likes it and he was very happy, and that bourbon glaze is awesome...but personally we think getting that glaze on the side, like an au jus, is the best way to have it. That way you are in control as to how much you want on your burger and the roll is not soaked. I tried the loaded chimichanga and they are not kidding. It was loaded with the best short ribs I have ever had! Everything about this was awesome and full of flavor! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought of putting watermelon into chive sour cream! And small chunks of watermelon in the salsa! It was amazing...and I am not a big watermelon fan to start with! But I loved it! Anything Billy wants to use his short ribs in, I will order it! They are simply to die for! Thank you again for an awesome meal! We are local and we will definitely be making more of an effort to go more often!
We frequently went to the original Basil and Wicks after skiing. It was a fun way to end the day. After 35 yrs we wanted to visit the new bar. We were not disappointed! Attractive, fun atmosphere. The food was great and the prices reasonable. Can’t wait to visit again. Jane, thanks again for keeping the name!
My daughter and I had a great dinner tonight. My daughter had the hanger steak and I had the Black Forest chicken. We also had the lava cake which had actual melty chocolate in it. Everything was delicious! Our server Emma was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back!
I hosted a private party and could not have been happier. The service and ambiance were fantastic and the food was even better. Chef Billy's dishes were delicious. I had many guests come up to me to compliment the place and the food. Highly recommend going there for dinner and drinks.
Basil and Wick’s is a fantastic place. My wife and I actually parked our camper there and stayed via Harvest Host. Dinner was phenomenal!! I got the Showcase Burger and she got the salmon. All I can say is that was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. Shout out to the head chef Billy for turning out some great food!
Visited Lake George and stayed in North Creek. Went to this wonderful restaurant and had a great experience. Specifically went so we were able to sit outside with our pups (plus for being dog friendly)! Our waitress was Emma who was very friendly and attentive. Chef Bill brought our food out and came back to check everything was as asked! Great place! 10/10 recommend.
Had dinner there twice in the last week and a half. Food was excellent. First time, entrees were a bit overcooked from what we requested, but was still moist and delicious. Second time was with eight adults and everyone loved the food, including appetizers and dessert. Our server both times was Emma, and she was friendly and professional, particularly in dealing with eight older adults.
Third time coming here and it's still as good as the rest. The food was delicious, and our server, Emma, was fantastic! Chef Billy Trudsoe is a very talented cook and he produced some fantastic dishes. I'm definitely going to visit here again, and I think whoever reads this should as well. 10/10!
Amazing variety of options under one roof. They were able to accommodate our large party with short notice. Service was very friendly and very fast. Will definitely visit again next time I'm staying in the area
We went at prime dinner time on a Saturday night. The place was packed. We had a reservation, so we did get seated right away. The service was a little delayed because of the amount of people there, but it wasn't bad. The food was excellent, the waitress was super nice. I had black forest chicken and risotto, delicious! It was very loud, it is a big open space.
Everything was absolutely incredible! The food, service, and atmosphere were amazing, I highly recommend!! My family and I have eaten here many times and can’t stop going back, our server Emma was so sweet and helpful! The chef Billy Trudsoe is so talented and all of the food was perfection! We can’t wait to go back!
Stellar food and.amazing atmosphere!!! We went on a random hunt for a new restaurant to try and we stopped here. The staff was amazing and the food was outstanding. We didn't know that Billy from Season 21 of Hells Kitchen was the chef when we stopped. He was so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back to try more of his amazing food!!!
We spent the weekend in Indian Lake for our annual girls get together, and were looking for a new dining experience in the area. We all enjoyed the upbeat vibe, and I had the Black Forest Chicken entrée (as seen on Hell’s Kitchen), and others in the group had the Showcase Burger and Pork Tenderloin. Excellent food and service from chef Billy Trudsoe and Emma K. Awesome from start to finish.
We had a party of ten for an impromptu bday dinner. They were able to accommodate our reservation on short notice and the food and service was stellar. We visit the area every August. This is always one of our stops. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner from the “3 Course Thursday” menu. Both my husband and I had the pork tenderloin with potato pancakes and baby spinach. The entire meal was wonderful. Generous portions, pork was perfectly cooked - tender and flavorful, service was friendly and professional. Will definitely return to try some of the other offerings.
Great food and service! They also allowed dogs on the patio which was very nice. A lot of reviews complained about 2 separate checks for the bar and food but that is because they seem to have different restaurants rent out their kitchen, wasn’t a big deal at all! Toby and Rocky loved Basil and Wicks!
WOW. We were fortunate enough to be staying in North Creek, but if you are in the Lake George / Bolton Landing / Warrensburg area, DRIVE TO THIS PLACE TO EAT. The food was amazing and the prices are reasonable. The executive chef was on a season of Hell's Kitchen, and the food really is THAT GOOD. The service was "fine" (local high school kids were the waiters, so not seasoned servers; we never got water. The Host was excellent, though) but who cares...the food was delicious. My husband had the Black Forest Chicken (featured on Hell's Kitchen) and I had the True Aussie Salad with protein and they both were delicious; we cleaned our plates. Cocktails were well made, too. The restaurant is clean, modern, and spacious as well. It's worth the drive if you are not in North Creek, NY!
Hello! I was so blown away by how awesome this restaurant was! I had the pastrami sandwich with a side of fries last night. It was cooked perfectly! Our waiter was wonderful, I forgot his name, but please, give him a bonus because he gave us amazing service! For all the future visitors, please don’t skip the desserts! They are just as good!
We went last night for Dinner with a friend. The French Onion soup was wonderful the best I have tasted even better than mine. For our main course we ordered the walnut encrusted salmon with a bourbon glaze (Dijon Salmon). It was absolutely delicious. I order Salmon at restaurants when ever it is on the menu and chef Billy did an awesome job with this. There was a live band playing but was not too loud that. You could still carry on a conversation. The waitress was very polite and accommodating. It was a pleasure. Definitely a great place to go. We will be back our next trip to North Creek.
We went in for dinner last night and wow .. what an amazing experience. The atmosphere was good, the food was super tasty and the service was amazing. Then of course the dessert menu somehow made it to our table. We ordered the Blueberry White Chocolate Cheesecake. Wow .. what an an amazing flavor that was !! I jokingly suggested that we should order a few more plates of Cheesecake. Of course our server (Samantha F), was more than willing to comply. I would highly recommend a visit to the Basil & Wicks's for an amazing experience. I cant wait to go again !!
We loved this restaurant in the past but it hit hard times during covid for a few years. I'm happy to say it's back. They have a new chef and menu and the food was excellent. There was a live band and a crowd outside and we were concerned about a long wait but we were seated right away inside. The food was fast and the young man who served us , who they said was in training, did a very nice job. We will definitely be back.
My family came here to celebrate birthdays and we were not disappointed at all. The food was delicious and came out in no time flat. All of the staff was friendly and very helpful. We had two young babies with us, and staff made sure we had extra space and chairs to set car-seats. The atmosphere was very comfortable both inside and outside. The menu is the perfect size - there was something for everyone in our party, but it was small enough that we didn't feel like we were reading a novel. My husband and I will definitely be coming back again!
My bestie and I came up to Gore for a day of skiing; man, are we tired! We wanted a local spot with some good grub to fill our bellies, and rest our bones. Enter, Basil & Wick’s. We sat at the bar, and Ryan was our server. She is lovely with a great sense of humor. All of the staff were super friendly and accommodating. My friend ordered a house salad and mushroom ravioli. I ordered a North End Salad (maybe?) and the wings. Both of our meals were super tasty, generously portioned, and made with fresh ingredients. Price point is good and the food quality made it worthwhile. What we didn’t anticipate was the 4-member one-man-band who serenaded our ears with music and eyes with hula hooping visuals. We left fulfilled - dinner and a show! What more could ya want??
We had a wonderful time at Basil and Wicks. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Our server Emma was excellent; checked on us frequently to make sure there’s nothing else that we needed and provided excellent service. The food was absolutely wonderful especially enjoyed the mushroom risotto and the tenderloin. Desserts were a huge hit as well. Will be going back frequently. PS - I do miss a booths that used to be in the dining room.
Our family of 2 adults and 3 kids stopped for dinner. The menu was great-plenty of choices but not overwhelming. The kids’ food was the same quality as the adult food-not boxed or store bought like many restaurants do for kids. The food came out really quickly. Our server Emma was excellent! Chef Billy stopped by our table and chatted with the kids making them feel pretty important. Would definitely go again.
When we heard about the new chef, Billy Trudsoe, we were intrigued to check out this long-time establishment near North Creek, NY. We weren't disappointed. Food was very good. Hearty and casual fare, and the preparation was excellent, on par with higher-end dining. The chef's signature black forest chicken was expertly prepared. Chicken was crispy on the outside, very moist and flavorful on the inside with a very nice mushroom risotto. We shared a baked brie to start which was excellent (and I'm not a brie fan). Pulled pork was outstanding and the onion rings were superb -- clearly handmade. They were busy for a Sunday night, but our waitress, Samantha, kept us updated on the status of all the dishes. Other waitstaff stopped by to check-in, and we think Billy, himself, made a drive-by to see if we were happy. Looking forward to trying out other items on the menu.
We found this delightful spot after a long drive. The food was excellent, the service superb and the staff was super friendly. EMMA K was our efficient and polite server (she alone gets 5 stars). We had venison chili (my husband reports amazing), filet sliders- tender and tasty, and a delicious showcase burger. We were full, but did get dessert to go- peach and butternut squash bread pudding. As Emma promised, a combination of good in all the right ways. Highly recommend!
We came for the Adirondack food and wine fest had the pleasure of watching Chef Billy win the Culinary competition. We were intrigued by the food and decided to go to Basil &. Wicks for dinner. We were not disappointed everything was excellent from the butternut squash soup to the pork medallions that my husband ordered and my salmon was delicious. The hospitality shown by the staff was amazing. We were greeted warmly by Jane and Chef Billy whom we met at the Culinary competition. Our server Corrine was also very warm and friendly. Definitely worth the trip from Lake George.
We had a great experience at Basil and Wicks! Although we sat inside for our meal, the outdoor space was very appealing with a fire going and a cute set up to maybe have a drink. We were greeted warmly and promptly. We waited maybe 10 minutes on a busy Monday night and sat on the deck enjoying the evening while we waited. Our server Emma was attentive, friendly and fun. We had the Black Forest chicken dish and shrimp chipotle which we enjoyed and even had some leftovers. We did find room for the peanut butter pie which was—out of this world. If we return to this area, we would make sure to eat here again and suggest others put it on their list!
We had wings, wraps, entrees, drinks, etc. and everything was delicious. Even better, Emma was a fantastic server and was extremely helpful and personable. Chef Billy also went out of his way to make sure everything was okay. Great food, atmosphere, and people; we’ll definitely been back!
We met friends there and it was delicious and quick. I highly recommend the crab dip. Yummy! The cauliflower and bacon soup was absolutely delicious. A cup isn't enough.....you'll want to order the bowl.
A very nice place with delicious food. The atmosphere here is truly wonderful. The staff are very polite and welcoming. I would like to thank you for the great time we spent here.
Every winter my boyfriend and I take a trip to Stony Creek and we always visit Basil and Wicks. The chef is excellent. This time I had the pastrami sandwich…omg…so good. We’ve also had the filet which was excellent and the burger also a hit. Everything is delicious and the bartender knows how to make drinks!
Fantastic experience! We drove 45 minutes from our vacation stay just to try this place out. I ordered the salmon which was cooked to perfection. My wife got the pastrami sandwich. We also tried their corn gnocchi soup, bruschetta, and both house made desserts. All were absolutely delicious!
After a long damp hike in the area, I stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. Inside there was a fire going, and I had a superb dish of pork tenderloin with spinach and potatoes; it was a more generous helping than the photo shows. A hot cup of tea perked me up, and then I finished with a delightful bread pudding dessert with a wondrous array of little sweet, salty and other toppings and two sauces drizzled on…truly to die for. The bartender and the host were welcoming, fun, and attentive; it had a very nice homey and local vibe. I left satisfied and happy, a good ending note to a very good weeklong trip!
After a long day of white water rafting ( HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEAVER BROOK OUTFITTERS) , we wanted to have drinks and hearty delicious food… what a fantastic place for just that!! Our sever Dagan ( I’m sure that I just butchered his name.. sorry for that ) was AWESOME!! He was attentive, “Johnny on the spot” with keeping up with our drinks, he had a great personality and he had great recommendations. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the double stack jack.. I’ve never finished a burger out.. I housed this one! It was perfectly cooked and had the best homemade chips to side it with some pretty delicious pickles too! My daughter had the beef and Brie…holy moly, that was also delicious! My bf had the double barrel… I didn’t taste it, but he LOVED it! My daughter also had the blueberry white chocolate cheesecake.. YUMMO!!!! My mom had the wings with their house hot sauce, also a winner!! Peanut butter pie and the espresso martini were enjoyed for dessert… all EXCEPTIONAL!! The band came in and rocked the place Finger diddlers ( I think) GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY OUR 7ppl party!
Right off the bat I’m giving a 5 Star review instead of giving a lower rating. When there is an issue I want to address it without being some kind of pretentious food critic. I went to this location on April 8th which was the day of the solar eclipse. It was a mad house and any person would understand the service wasn’t going to be the greatest because of how busy the restaurant was. My issue is how they handle a problem. We ordered our meals and a French onion soup to start out with, which we got relatively fast. Not receiving our meals for a long time after, which because of how busy it was wasn’t this issue. 2 tables that came in after us, received their main courses. When the waitress came over to our table she seemed alittle stunned. Which I believe when she put in the order for the soup, she forgot to go back and place our meals in. After she left we received our order about 5-10 minutes after that. The meals itself was pretty good. As you can see from the pictures they were tasty. My wife only ate about 3/4th of her burger. so we took the rest of hers, my daughters French fries, and 2 chicken wings that were left onto one plate. We asked for them to wrap it up by another woman who wasn’t our waitress. The waitress came back with the bill and we payed for it. I asked for our left overs and she said they threw them out. Waiting for so long we just wanted to go, but she insisted that the burger would be very quick to make a new one. So after waiting we got it back but it was only the burger. No fries or chicken wings. My issue all together is “hopefully” the manager knew we had several complaints and didn’t come out or offer anything for the inconvenience. Not that I’m expecting something for free, but to acknowledge the problem would of been enough. I always go to gore mountain for skiing and always eat at the restaurant in the lodge after a long day. I would like to come here instead because of the atmosphere. I just hope next time it’s a little better.
Came here on our trip to Gore for dinner on NYE! Gordon Ramsey would be proud of executive chef Billy Trudsoe who was on season 21 of Hells Kitchen! Everything was delicious and the staff was super attentive. Highly recommend the scallop appetizer & the Thai chili wings. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly.
Casual dressed customers can enjoy fine dining among the north creek rolling mountains. We sat during an early evening dining period (around 5pm on a sunday) where the music was softly playing in the background but the warm laughter of the patrons and staff invited conversations and a good time. There's no gimmick, just good food to speak for itself. For apps: The special clam stew which was lighter than expected but warmed our belly's for the entree. I shared the bowl with one other person. Entree: (the boyfriend but he let me try) the featured black forest chicken. The crusted chicken didn't feel heavily fried or thickly breaded. It paired nicely with the mushroom risotto which was firm and perfectly cooked. I don't care much for overly soft or sticky risotto. This could have easily been a heavy dish but it was rather delightful instead. I had the diver scallops which were... OMG! I let out a happy dance upon first mouth full. The scallops were light and buttery. Perfectly pan seared, your fork will do the job with no need of a knife, as it should be. I've been dying for scallops and most miss the mark (not horrible, but not what I needed) but this finally cured my craving! I'm a sucker for gnocchi so this dish is a no brainer for me and I would recommend it time and time again. Staff: Everyone was friendly. Samantha was our server and answered any questions we had. Their friendliness was genuine and service was quick. Even Chef Billy himself came to check in on us which never happens in most places. We didn't sit outside, or by the pub, but those options were there if that's what you wanted. They offered drinks but we didn't have any during this visit. Dessert was also offered and it looked amazing, I just wish I had the room in my belly. I don't normally eat dessert so I didn't save room but I surely was tempted. I'm not even a winter/cold weather person and already considered to come back during that time literally inspired by this dining experience, and the people we met in town. To sum it all up: Real genuine place, real genuine people, real genuine food. I highly recommend!
Under new ownership since we were last here, Chef Billy has really made this place phenomenal. The service was super fast, the food came out steaming and delicious, and Chef Billy came out to personally check how we were doing and asked us about our visit to the area. The appetizer (poutine) and entree (hangar steak) were excellent, but really, the dessert was one of the best things I've eaten. The s'mores lava cake is indescribable. Make the stop on your way through, and save room for dessert.
A wonderful dining experience tonight! The service was timely, the staff was great. The meal... Trying to find words for the flavor explosion. We had the pork tenderloin and the topridge ahi. Subtle, perfectly paired, delicious and unique enhancements to perfectly cooked featured main dishes!! I would absolutely recommend stopping in at this gem of a restaurant in North Creek!
I would have said that I loved it, as the food was good and the setting was very nice. However, the Saturday night we had dinner there, only 1 of the 2 people who prepare the Entrees was available. There were fewer menu items to be had. I am a Vegetarian and there was only 1 Vegetarian option. A table of 14 was ordering before us and there was a possibility that the Veg option might be sold out. We didn't want to order drinks unless we knew we were staying... Luckily, there was 1 piece of Veggie Lasagna left! And that was at 6:15.
Very friendly service and enjoyable place. About $45 per head with service. Some of us had alcohol and some did not and some of us had appetizers and some did not so the price quoted above is a good average. If you are in the hearing aid age of life you will find the place too noisy with too much reflection. On the other hand if you're young and making soft moon eyes at your date and don't have much to say and don't care whether you hear what your date says then this is the place. The brie appetizer is to die for.
We had a fantastic dinner tonight at Basil and Wick's. Our server Emma was fantastic! Very enthusiastic and helpful with dinner, drink and dessert recommendations. My burger was more rare than medium rare, but that's better than overcooked. The naked brie was out of this world and so was the Huckleberry mule.
Food and service was wonderful. Our party of 6 ordered 5 different mixed drinks and none of them tasted like they had any alcohol at all in them... Mixers only... We were all super disappointed and switched to beer and wine since those couldn't be altered. Highly recommend for a great meal, however would also highly recommend sticking to wine and beer as 5 out of 5 adults agreed that no alcohol was in our mixed drinks.
Festive atmosphere—decorated for Christmas. Friendly waiter, yummy food. We tried their “pulled pork cigars,” which were delicious and just presented in a cool way and duck wings (just to try them, and they were great too). French onion soup was killer. I’d for 100% sure go again😊 Do get a reservation, as it’s busy!
Wait Staff was excellent. Food service was reasonably fast. I had the braised short rib on sourdough and it was very tasty. It was reasonably priced at 18$. The place was timber frame was very clean and had a nice open atmosphere. The hostess was the only down side. She made a stink about not having a reservation but the tables were about 50% seated. She then paraded us around the restaurant and seated us at the kitchen door. When we left the tables were about 25% seated.
I had a large dinner party here, the food and drinks were great but service was slow at times. There was a bit of a wait at times for drinks and such but otherwise a great experience. Nice ambiance and decoration throughout. Would definitely recommend.
We cut it a bit short for dinner and also needed a place that has vegan options, since due to my health issues, I had to start eating with no animal protein nor dairy. My wife called this place and they were very accommodating, they recommended we place an order over the phone so that when we come in after kitchen closes, we will be able to still get our meal. We called our dishes in and once we got there, a few minutes later our meal arrived. The staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere is like a huge log cabin, which gives you that country feel. We liked it. The only thing it is a little pricy, but then we realized that they have top notch famous chef, so I guess you pay for experience and presentation, taste of the food. The food was good. My family got pasta with salmon and some got the same with chicken. I got risotto and I wish I knew how small the portion is, so I would have gotten two of those, but the taste was amazing. I wasn't full from the dish, but I wasn't hungry either, so overall it was a very nice experience. They also had life music and played a lot of 70s and even 60s rock legends covers. Great music, very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. A good place to spend some time in the evening.
We stopped in for dinner, and I’m happy we did! It was one of the only spots open in the area on a Monday night. 4 of us sat on the restaurant side and got food and drinks. Everything was great! We left happy & full. Unfortunately, my chicken & risotto was bland, but the cook on it was perfect. Nick’s a great manager! He sat us, checked in with us, and was helpful. Our server Emma was very welcoming and nice. Service was excellent! The hanging decor was cool & I loved the wood.
Service was excellent. Menu was diverse given the offerings in the area but have to say food was a bit of a disappointment given the reputation and price. Burger was way oversauced and kimchi flatbread was off. Beef and Brie was also bland. Stick to basics here.
We stopped in for dinner and we were told it would be a 45 minute wait but it was only 20 minutes which was great! The food was good and the servers seem a bit green. We did have a drink spilled as well as food (by the server) and I was surprised that they didn’t seem too phased or offer to comp anything. I actually offered to clean off the table and they said we should just move to another one. It is more of a bar vibe and the light above our table was flickering for our meal. With some small aesthetic updates (fixing lights) and additional training to staff, this place could be really great!
Mediocre food at a high price. Grilled chicken salad. Loin of pork pieces. Both dry and chewy. Fillet sliders appetizer excellent, but $$$. I suggest that they are trying to be something more than they can accomplish. Friendly wait staff. Although the menu stated 18% gratuity for large parties over 6 people, the two of us were charged that rate. I appreciated the wait staff and added $20 to the already 18% gratuity charged us. I can't say I recommend this restaurant, but if you choose your order carefully you may have a better experience than we did. I want to support local businesses in that area where we have been visiting for over 50 years.
Steak was a bad cut. Burger well over done
The menu brags of their chef being on Hell's Kitchen but neglects to mention that he placed 14th out of 16. The food was bland and served on prison trays. The service lost all interest in us when we didn't order alcohol. The atmosphere was cavernous and cold. Soooo cold!!! In short...just stay home and have leftovers.
Was less than impressed with the menu choices. The prices seemed high for the portions of food you got. The two separate bills for food and drink was off putting. We were offered drinks once than ignored after. The service was slow. Some of our food was clearly forgotten when it was brought out to us. We had go wait for them to be remade. The place was extremely quiet. A few folks out front, and no one inside initially. However, the other table that was seated after us seemed as they were treated like royalty vs us. Multiple people serving drinks, and food orders taken right away. Food was not bad, just not enough for what you paid for. Pretty sure we will not return based off this experience.
Super slow service on the food. Friendly staff. Locals conversation didn't like the tourists. It's no wonder that all the business is staying on the mountain.
Maybe it was a bad night or maybe the new team needs to work out the kinks, but it was just a bad experience. There was a wait so we ordered apps and drinks at the bar. The wings were soggy, but well flavored. The fries were great. The specialty cocktails were just okay. Once we got to the table our waitress greeted us quickly and took our order right away. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. The tortellini chipotle pesto was bad, way too salty. My medium burger was well done and cold. The cheddar wasn’t melted, but the chips were great. The grilled chicken sandwich was great! The duck was just okay. Our server never asked us how our food was. And we spent $260 for five meals. 4 were bad. Wouldn’t go again.
As soon as we entered the establishment the hostess was extremely rude. She claimed that there were no tables left (fully booked) when you can literally see at least 10+ tables behind her. We said that we would just eat quickly and get up since we were all hungry but she still said no. This is the SECOND time that this has happened to us and it is extremely irritating.
We decided to go here for dinner while on vacation because we thought it looked like a neat place with good food. Once we got there we were advised that their dinner menu changes each day of the week. Thursdays are burger night. They don’t own a deep fryer so French fries are not an option. They had 1 appetizer on the menu, 4 burger options and 2 salad choices. We didn’t have a problem with this until we realized that the salad options which were priced at an entree price came out looking like a side salad. A person in our party does not like burgers so chose the salad for dinner. It came out as the saddest salad ever. Some spinach, 3 carrot peels and 3 slices of tomato: No option to add chicken or shrimp or anything to give it more protein. The burgers were okay but the service was not. There were only 2 other tables seated and it took 15 minutes for our 2 waters and Diet Pepsi to come out to us. We saw the waitresses texting and rolling their eyes when we asked questions about the menu. I would not recommend this place. We went to Becks tavern down the road the following night and the food was 10 times better and we were actually treated like guests.
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES Family of 4 waited 45min for table, which isn’t bad on ski Saturday. Drinks were good and we had the most amazing waitress. However the chef decided he could not serve my son with a tree nut allergy. No offered suggestions refused two things we ordered then asked if they could just do plain pasta and even that was a no! He had the audacity to tell our waitress he could have lettuce. The waitress was extremely embarrassed she had to relay this message and was very apologetic and kind. Obviously we had to cancel our meal as I’m not going to eat when my son can’t. Waitress discussed with a manager and they did comp our drinks. Waitress was excellent and left her a nice tip even though we never ate. Unacceptable to be a restraint and not have some allergy friendly options.
This restaurant was highly recommended by John at the ski barn (awesome person, awesome place!). We were pleasantly surprised by the menu, just expecting bar food, but saw a full menu with many enticing options. Ordered the crab cake (smothered in sauce but tasty), seafood stuffed portobello, and scallops Rockefeller. Portobello dish was palatable, mainly due to the lemon, garlic, and butter flavors. The oysters Rockefeller was presented as a mushroom, spinach, balsamic honey slop over rice. After two bites (one for each of us) we flagged out waiter, and sent it back. Amy, the manager, never approached our table after sending back the meal. Instead she continues to sit at the bar, with other members of staff, and charge us 90% of the meal. When I asked for the meal back to take home, since I was paying for it, I was told it was no longer available. Clayton our server was sweet and accommodating, we tipped him well over 20%. If you visit this establishment stick to the bar food. I was raised that if its on the menu a restaurant should stand by their recipes, but I guess a restaurant advertising that they're For Sale should've been a huge indicator to have extremely low expectations. You've been warned.
