Love this place & spotted an Otter 10 feet from me! Feels like a cool spot you'd find on vacation and tell all your friends about . Good food, some wine and beer. Soda fountain. Dramatic waterfront location. Where you can pull up in your boat, jetski, drive or bike to. Next to Gratwick Park. Without a doubt 1 of the best views of sunsets on the river. Closed during fall & winter unfortunately. Short flight of stairs for those who need to know.
We love this place. The beer is inexpensive for a pitcher and the view is just amazing. Every summer my husband and I spend hours here. The live band on weekend in huge bonus. Being in city outskirts it's never too crowded. We have tried their hot dogs which are good too.
Cozy patio restaurant with yummy food! Great riverside view and delicious ice cream! So glad we found this place as we didn't stay long in town
LumberJack's was a great place for a sizable family gathering! The staff were more than accommodating in helping me make a large reservation, and they did great work to get things in order for us. Sandy and Bridget went above and beyond to help us. We would gladly have more such gatherings there.
Cute. Right on the river . Great sunsets on a very big deck. Live music. Beer and wine. We were there on the 4th of July. Saw at least 6 different sets of fire works. Best were the Niawanda ones. Up close and personal. Has boat docks so a great feature. Not a lot of boat float up dinning.
Absolutely a wonderful place to have lunch/dinner. Food was delicious, service fast, servers friendly. Definitely going back! Oh, get the fish fry, I couldn't finish it, had to take home.
Love this place. Nothing like having a great meal, or a cold beer on their huge patio with a perfect view of the Niagara River. Staff is always friendy and welcoming.
After driving to several waterfront dining locations, discouraged was the mood setting in. We stopped at a few to find they had a band, which meant many people, no chance to hear our own conversation, and waiting longer for a meal. Onward we went. After the last location, which again was crowded with live music we happened upon this place. Alas, a quiet place to talk, be on the waterfront, and enjoy some food! The prices were quite affordable, service was quick, the environment was pleasant, and the food was good too! I had their fish fry(which they serve everyday) and for the low price, under $13, I was full. In closing, we finally succumbed to "pier" pressure to dine on the waterfront.
Today was the first time eating here. The curly fries were great! Just make sure to check your teeth before leaving for black pepper in them lol. Chili dog was good and a friend said the same about her chicken sandwich. Great patio and was able to ask for an umbrella for shade. They have a limited number of umbrellas though, so u may be SOL if you ask during a busy time of day. Great views. Was a hot day and being on the water made it comfortable for dining outside. I'll be returning.
Great patio on the Niagara River! Outdoor music some nights, hit or miss...Nice place to unwind. Bring the kids! Ice cream! Indoors available. Counter service. Beautiful sunsets most nights. Sandwiches like hot dogs, burgers ,chicken, and Fish fry. Popcorn sometimes. Boat docks available on the upper Niagara River for a nice meal stop. Good dogs welcome. Plenty of free parking. Beer and wine if you wish.
Wonderful place, a diamond in the ruff! The patio is spacious with an awesome view of the sunset over the water. Srgt Sandy and her staff were more than welcoming and accommodating to both us humans and our dogs who were welcomed outdoor on the patio. We were awed by the service alone, then the food came out... Oh my! The best fish fry in the Tonawandas and plenty for the very reasonable pricing. Highly recommend! Don't forget to buy the t-shirt, not only great quality but it pays for itself over and over again with A FREE icecream each and every time you come in with it! A must visit, you want to come back every day!
Atmosphere and views are great! The veggie burger was delicious. It took a while for the food to be prepared and served, but the manager Michelle came several times to check on us and was very apologetic for the wait. Thank you Michelle! We will definitely return. Betty and Jim
Reasonable pricing for great grilled food. Amazing view of the river and sunset. You may even see a mink or two running around the rocks near the water.
We stopped by on our way back from niagara falls (was in geneva on the lake ohio for an event and decided to venture out) we visited you end of july and we are from Arizona. Amazing staff so nice! Husband said the fish was the best he's had. Loved the scenery and relaxing atmosphere. Thanks so much for making our little adventure great!
Great little restaurant right on the water. Not from New York but we were visiting family and had a large party of 13. Sandra the manager was exceptional and very friendly. The food was very good. Would definitely make this a regular spot if we lived here.
After a miscommunication with an order Sergeant Sandy gave us a batch on the house. The food was fantastic and the service was stellar as always would eat here again and for the rest of my life if possible.
Enjoy spectacular sunsets over the Niagara River on their huge waterfront deck! Freshly cooked food/snacks, ice cream, and cold beer! Staff is very efficient and friendly. Definitely worth sceduling a visit!
Food was good, decent selection, friendly service. Seemed a little on the pricey side for a "hot dog & hamburger joint" but what isn't pricey these days. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back.
Highly recommend the hamburgers and chef salad. Delicious!
Excellent food. Superb customer service. Very friendly staff. Enchanting view. Food was delicious and catered to adults and children. We loved sitting in the deck. We went for the last day open for the season and it was a treat. We are really looking forward to opening this summer. Great Sunday afternoon.
Wonderful food, courteous staff, and an amazing view. A very nice place for a quick bite to eat and the breeze outside is refreshing. One of the staff members is an Army veteran, and in my opinion, any place that hires vets prioritizes quality and service.
One of our absolute favorite spots to grab a bite! It’s super convenient since it’s close to home, and the service is fantastic with delicious food. Plus, how cool is this? If you buy one of their T-shirts when you visit, you get two free scoops of ice cream every time! The kids absolutely love it! 😋 It’s also a perfect place to chill with friends over dinner and drinks.
Love this very nice place. The food is so good and the servers and service are great. The deck facing the Niagara River is an added plus. So relaxing to eat you food looking at the water. If you don't give it a try, you are missing a very enjoyable time
After hearing great things about Lumber Jack's, we thought we would give it a try. It was great! The service was superb. The food was fantastic. The prices are very reasonable. The ambiance & river view is amazing. Lastly, the beer is ice cold & good selection, all served with a smile and some laughs, Thanks SGT. Sandie.
After spending a day at Niagara Falls, we were looking for a place to eat. Decided to drop by and give this place a try. From live music on Wednesdays and Sundays to some delicious food. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If I were a local I would frequent this place often. 10 out 10.
Great place to enjoy a nice meal and view the river! Really laid back atmosphere allows dogs on patio. They brought a water bowl out for our dog. Great service food was good well worth the stop on a busy day.
Food was simple and great! Didn't take long either. Live music was pleasant. View of the water was beautiful. All in all a great vibe. We will for sure go again if we're in the area.
Excellent spot for a bite to eat and a drink on the river. Great patio view of Niagara Falls off in the distance. Friendly staff.
We went to a concert at Gratwick Park so we stopped at LumberJacks for a drink. Beatiful spot on the River with a nice patio and lots of seating. It’s casual and everyone working was so friendly!!! We had a bucket of beer and enjoyed the view!! Menu looks great and so did the food passing by. I want to go back for a fish fry next!!! Stop in for sure!!!
Had an amazing experience here. The fish dinner is a must have. Everyone is super friendly and employees are wonderful. A beautiful spot right on the water with a nice breeze on a sunny day. The bartender Sandra has an amazing personality and was super helpful and friendly. Everyone and everything is great. A must stop when in the area.
This place is amazing. Drove up with the boat, easy to dock and the food was great. New favorite spot!
Beautiful waterside eatery. Good food at reasonable prices. We arrived later in the evening and they were completely out of fish. Burger was good- but the cheese curds were outstanding! Huge quantity and delicious!!!
Really nice spot for lunch on the east branch of the Niagara river. Nice selection of burgers, dogs, etc. Prices were higher but reasonable and the view I’d say, was fantastic! Servers and counter help were nice and the food came out quickly. Overall a nice place and I like being able to keep my money in North Tonawanda. Try it out if you’re in the area. The have periodic live music and from what I’ve seen, dinner can be busy.
WOW, what a great place. We enjoyed our meal out on the patio, right next to the water. We had one lady that had trouble walking. The server noticed and came over to our table and took our order. Food was delicious. My family realized that there was a bike path nearby. They plan to return soon.
This is a great location with an amazing view of the river. The food is excellent and the service perfect. Michelle accommodated our large group with reservations. She ensured everything was setup and ready. The kitchen was able to feed the entire group with anyone waiting too long. They have ice cold beer and wine. Nice outdoor and indoor seating areas. Highly recommend this one!
We had a great meal here. Simple food done really well using nice and fresh ingredients. The view is awesome, and there's plenty of room available on the patio and outside. Met the owners and they're excellent people; very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit here if you get a chance!
We found this little gem after fishing on Gratwick Riverside Park. You order at front, and they deliver to your table. They had ice cold Stella beer on tap. Great patio overlooking the mighty Niagara River and the marina. Friendly staff perfect place to go for a quick bite to eat before or after boating/fishing.
We had a 70th birthday party for about 30 people on a Saturday here. I can't say enough about how friendly and supportive the staff is. From ensuring that we were well taken care of, the quick service and cleanup, we had an amazing time. The staff from the owner Carol, the manager Sandra, the cook Nick (who makes the best fish-fry in WNY) and the counter/waitstaff Aud, Molly, Brenna and Alaina, we really appreciated how awesome they were. The food was prepared and prepped perfectly, with every dish being a delight. With a wide variety of dishes on the menu, everyone was able to find something they liked. I heartily recommend them for a casual meal to a family get-together. With a view to die for and awesome food, you'll enjoy making this your next visit. We plan to be back for more!
Had the fish fry dinner today and it was huge. Plenty of fries and onion rings. A little pricy at $18.95 but the fish was cooked just right as were the sides. The only room for improvement was the tartar sauce. It was Kraft tubs and soupy. Other than that, I enjoyed the meal and the nap when I got home.
This place was exactly as advertised and then some. It's a small menu, but everything we had was done well. Fish sandwich was perfectly fried. Fried pickles were awesome and the cheese curds were good too.
This was our first time here and I had their fish fry and my wife had one of their burgers. We both enjoyed the food tremendously. The cook’s name is Nicholas and we want to give him the recognition that he deserves. If you have never been to Lumberjacks, do yourself a favor and stop and see them. Music on Wednesday and Sundays with a beautiful view of the River! We’ll be back!!!
It's on the Upper Niagara River boasting a beautiful view. We had a beer and were looking at the menu for something to eat when we witnessed a boat accident. We paid and left without eating because it was strange. We will definitely try the food on another afternoon. The service is wonderful 👍
A waterfront restaurant offering a cozy deck with partial shade, right on the edge of the Niagara River; and an indoor dining area with windows open to the river view. As mentioned by another, there is no AC so dress accordingly; but there is a nice breeze. It is a patio grill so this isn't the place for a gourmet meal. Now, if your looking for a good grilled burger and fried sides, this is the place. We enjoyed a Cheeseburger Combo (with curly fries or sweet potato fries) and a Hot Dog Combo (same). After ordering, you are given an order number stand to place on the table of your choice, and food is brought to you when it is done. Except, drinks. That you fill yourself. The food wait was about 10 minutes. The burger was good and tasty, the fries were similar to shoestring curlys and they were good. The waitress kept checking on us, just the right amount. She brought us paper towels on a stand and a fresh bottle of ketchup. Sitting on the deck was beautiful, tables and chairs clean, deck clean. We enjoyed the views of the river as we dined. The bathrooms are clean, nice soap and sink, and a high velocity hand dryer. If you prefer towel drying, grab a couple paper towels from the table stand before you go in. Wheelchair accessible. A great place for a casual date, family, kids . . very enjoyable.
Great location with a fantastic view! We came to watch the sunset over ice cream, but we ended up watching a nearby great blue heron. They have casual food, hamburgers and hot dogs, ice cream, and much more. A bar area, and an indoor area. But the best thing about this place is the patio on the river!
One of the few place in the US where I definitely want to go back. The atmoshpere of the place, the quality of the food, the perfectly situated restaurant is just mesmerizing. The prices are not the lowest, but very reasonable, especially if we consider that the place itself is pretty close to the Niagar Falls. The service was relatively quick, and all 7 of us received their dish at the very same time, which is pretty good. Therefore I do recommend this place. #TeamHungary🇭🇺
We live in the area and frequent here; you can't beat the view of the river from their indoor or outdoor space and if you want to eat waterside you can. Pull up in your car, boat, or walk in off the biking / walking trail. The food is standard "hot dog stand" meets small kitchen- you can get extras like shaved steak sandwich, crunch rolls, fish fry, fried pickles, etc but also the standard staples. As previously mentioned, majority of the food is grilled or fried so be prepared to select from those two categories. A really nice touch over most places with these menus is the wine / beer / canned malt beverages- you can't beat a hot dog or burger on the water with a cold drink. The food is very reasonably priced, the drinks are just slightly more than your neighborhood bar but less than a full fledged restaurant would be on the water.
Great, casual, beach food on a beautiful deck overlooking the Niagara River. Order food, drink, and ice cream at counter then they bring it out to your table. Can walk around green space and marina next door. Prices are a little high for the area but you're next to the water so I'm not complaining. The grilled chicken sandwich and Italian sausage were both very good but the curly fries are to die for! Get them, you won't be sorry. Get enough for the table because you won't want to share.
Great location. Casual and kid friendly menu options. Nice back patio to eat outdoors and inside seating. Clean. Bar with bet selections and wine. Great Dockside access for boats. Perfect place to catch a sunset over the Niagara River!
Nice hang out, friendly people, great service, awesome view on the Niagara River. Food hit the spot and is considered good bar food. The wings are boneless. Loved the scenic terrace and the live music. Great guy. Entertaining and fun.
Staff was extremely friendly for such a busy holiday, I don't think they were prepared for such a rush. We waited and hour and a half for our food but kept entertained by a live band. We will definitely be back again
Great place with a great view for lunch. Price was on the high side.
Lovely little hotdog & burger place with an outdoor riverside patio or indoor dining. Casual, order at the counter & then they bring the food to you. Staff was friendly & the place was nice. Great view! Decent prices. Would return for sure.
Old man river in north tonawanda. I bit pricey but honestly love the esthetic of having north tonawanda pride everywhere.
Good experience... food ✓, atmosphere✓,quite pricey ☹️ . All the BEES on the deck come free of charge.
Looking for somewhere to have a drink we stumbled across this on Google Explore. It was a fab way to spend an hour or so, looking out over the river and listening to the live band. Lovely pint of IPA too. We didn’t eat but the food looked good. We did have some of the free popcorn though!
Stopped here on 4th of July for dinner. So enjoyable. Band played great music, the menu is good summer patio fare, they also have a small bar and the view is great. Had a delicious grilled chicken salad. The young kitchen staff of servers and cooks are great; attentive and efficient. Hats off to Nicholas, especially!
If seeking a classic americana meal with a watery view, this is the place. Order at the counter and take a seat. Grab a free bag of freshly popped popcorn and a beer while you wait. It is a beautiful view, the food is mediocre. The fish fry is as big as your head but rather lackluster in taste as was the French fries. My boyfriend did say the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. The three stars are mainly for the meal.
There were 3 adults and 1 child with our group. It was nice to sit by the water, but you have to go in and order your food and drinks and they bring it out to you. I thought this was a little different. The food was ok. We had a fish sandwich, BLT, cheese burger, fried pickles, and a Buffalo crunch roll, and banana pepper crunch roll. I want impressed with either or the crunch rolls or the fried pickles, but everything else was good.
You're not really here for the food, but more so the outdoor table by the lake where you can sit for a while with good friends and a pitcher of beer and laugh the night away. We waited about an hr+ for food but that's maybe more expected during COVID19, or maybe just a Friday night.. This was a first time visit. We stayed late late til 930 and had a great time, servers doing the best they could, and really not too bad service. Walk-up ordering was actually ok. Not well lit at night; parking is pretty limited. Otherwise a good time.
Nice view of the river when the weather is nice. Not so good if you're stuck inside. Brother James was great for their vast play list, if a little loud. Walk up ordering with table service, no frills. Can only speak to the grilled sausage with onions and peppers which was tasty. Saw a few fish fries coming out that looked great.
UPDATE: June 2024 - Super salty and almost inedible curly fries, my wife's burger was just about raw inside. They redid her burger but we're pretty sure they just threw it back on the grill, cooked the hell out of it and threw another piece of cheese on it. We're thinking that it's the new crew and a training issue as we've always had good food there. We'll give them another chance in a few weeks.
The view is spectacular, right on the water in a nice quiet marina. Beer is cold and buffalo brews too. Food is well served service pack, great fresh cut fries, smash burgers, typical diner grill. They must only have one person in the kitchen because it takes a while to get food so don't be in a hurry, they're moving as fast as they can.
Large crowd on Sunday due to a band playing there. The band was very good. Music was a little loud for me but it's always too loud for me, I'm old what can I say. The food waits were a little crazy. Looking to almost an hour to get any kind of food other than a bag of chips. The beer was cold. Everything is served in plastic glasses because you're out on the water. The views are fantastic.
Crazy wait time for a burger, hotdog and fries. To top it off when we got our food my burger was barely warm, the fries were cold and must of been re dipped (old fries that were cold that were put back down to fry) I say this as they were soaked in grease. I'd suggest another waterfront place before coming here.
We took 4 friends by boat from Safe Harbor to Lumber Jack's through the whirlpools under the Peace bridge for ice cream. I paid $3.51 for the ice cream cone on the left and so did our friend for the one on the right. Wait, what? Two different employees scooped each cone. When I asked the girl that waited on me, she said that was the way she scoops ice cream. I know it's only ice cream but... disappointed
So besides 2-12oz cans of beer costing $15(!), my girlfriend ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered a fish fry, BOTH had absolutely no flavor. Like ABSOLUTE zero flavor, it was the strangest thing. 2 years ago, I loved this place, that when I was there last. The menu is very basic for being on the water. Hotdogs, burgers, with the most exotic thing being the super bland fish fry. I honestly don't get it. How can food taste like absolutely nothing?? The french fries were seasoned, but even the coleslaw I got with a fish fry had no taste
Niagara Falls NY—saw this place along the river and thought let’s stop. Service is MINIMAL. They were out of several soft drink options, I ordered a strawberry malt but never got it (examined the bill at least she didn’t charge me for it either). Grabbed a foot long chili dog, it wasn’t a foot long, was not good (left yuck taste in my mouth), the fries were ok though. This place is in a great location next to the river a short distance upstream from the falls, however the food and service are a huge let down. We were among the youngest there. The clearly seniors seemed ok with the place. I’m certain the area has better options, of the four of us in our group we all left disappointed.
Place was filthy. Drink machine was disgusting, and everything In it tasted severely watered down and nothing like it should have. Staff is not that friendly. Might be a good view of the water but you can get that elsewhere for a better experience.
Food took awhile to come out (hour plus) on a semi busy Thursday lunch hour. Nice view of river. Cold Italian sausage also dry. cheese for French fries cold
First Visitor Here - I live within 5 miles of this restaurant, my mother and I wanted to try something new and I had an hour lunch so we headed over. We placed our order and sat down to admire the view and wait for our food. An hour and 20 minutes later I got up to get a refund and our food finally showed up, only for the grilled chicken on my salad to be burnt around the edges and dry as a bone. So not only was I late getting back to work, I had to find something else to eat because my salad was inedible. I'm hoping it was situational and something went wrong at this location but we won't be returning to find out if they got their stuff together after today. The view is nice...
Cheese burger done beyond edible onion rings the taste of dirt. Had to wait a full hour for this crap! Do not eat here!!!!!!!
We waited for 1.5hr for our food to arrive. Totally not worth it. If your customers have to wait that long, you have to let them know in advance. Again, the whole experience, considering the atmosphere and the live music is not worth the waiting.
First impressions weren't good. Beautiful views of the Niagara river, spacious patio, food not so good and overpriced IMO. $30 for a burger, two orders of fries and two 16 oz. soft drinks. The burger was underwhelming and small, both orders of fries (shoestring and sweet potato) tasted as if they were cooked in week old oil. I don't mind paying for a good meal, this one wasn't good. Won't be going back.
Way overpriced. Took close to 30 minutes and only came out with burgers. Waited another 30 minutes for fries. Nobody mentioned where condiments and napkins are located. The view is nice but not worth that price for 1/4 pound burgers
Tried to go in September, the website said it was open, but when we arrived it was all closed up. The chairs were on the tables inside, and a sign on the door said closed for the season. Google still shows it as being open. Really need to update their info so more people aren't confused.
My friend and I Ordered fish sandwich it was $12.69 for the smallest piece of fish I’ve ever seen. When brought to the cooks attention and the managers attention… they said that’s the way it is. It’s curled up. I also ordered one that was probably 2-3 times bigger. I asked them to fix the situation and the cook said they are out of fish. What BS. I’m not done!!!!
It was a great view and a great deck but the prices for the portions of food here are EXORBITANT. This small half-filled paper dish of curly Q fries was $7.45 and the milkshake the same price. Five cans of Miller Light for $25. Now I would expect to pay extra for a great view in any restaurant but really? It’s not a restaurant or a grill. It’s a glorified hamburger stand with a liquor license. But, it does have a great view.
