We ate at Prescott’s on 3/6/26- we had a great time and everything was phenomenal but had to leave a review specifically for our waitress (I apologize for forgetting her name)! She provided excellent service and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu beyond any expectation. Probably the best service we have ever had in WNY. We ordered everything off the small plate menu as a group of four and we were very happy with everything, specifically the lamb, beef tartar, tuna crudo, artichokes, beets and focaccia! The cheesecake was also a favorite in our group
5 stars because of the FOOD! WOW! Day after Valentine's Day. Didn't order alcohol and didn't want anything but water but was told they were "taking all orders at the same time today." I was starving and asked if I could put in food and was denied for that reason. We waited maybe 10/15 minutes before the waitress came around and took our food orders. The staff was dressed casually proving there's no fancy dress code. The quality of the food was so delicious and well plated I was surprised at how casual the atmosphere is. It's an anomaly. Based on the food alone this is one of the best dinners I've had around Buffalo. What would be interesting to me is if there was a sister restaurant created that held the same quality of food but had high level professional service as well. Wheat focaccia, waygu arancini, butternut squash bruschetta, filet entree, pork chop entree, and two desserts to go one was a chocolate peanut butter bomb and the other one is a pistachio cake. The pistachio cake is absolutely phenomenal and the waygu arancini was the best arancini I ever had in my life. I would return and I would reccomend this restaurant. $200 bill with no alcohol , 2 people. For that price point and the standard that they serve their food, I would be intrigued to see a different level of service.
The food is WORTH it! They are so creative and delicious. We've been twice now and both times equally impressed between food, atmosphere, and staff. I still can't stop thinking about their pork chop, and I think I'll always order the octopus small plate and artichoke small plate as an appetizer. Highly recommend for a nice night out.
FANTASTIC! I had oysters at a bunch of other places, including Remingtons and I never cared for them. The oysters at Prescott's made me FALL IN LOVE!! This is by far THE BEST RESTAURANT in the Tonawandas and one of my Top 5 favorites in Western New York. The chef here always has a unique spin on everything made, the menu changes often and it is thoughtfully created, everything I have ever had here ( over 30 times since opening)has been 5 stars!!! This place is food heaven!!!!
We stopped in on our way back to Rochester after visiting Niagara-on-the Lake, what an amazing meal, we had the Tuna Crudo, followed up with the Halibut and Gnioccichani, everything hit multiple levels of flavor! Dessert, Brown butter pistachio calke with carmel gelato… Unbelievable!! Sara’s smile s warm and welcoming and makes everything outstanding, thank you for everything!
Best to sit outside if the weather cooperates. The food is truly excellent. The smoked chicken was absolutely fabulous. The service was a little bit slow and inconsistent, but for the most part good.
Celebrated our anniversary! Lovely place, food is amazing and the waiter was extremely knowledgeable! We will definitely come back!
Finally had dinner here last night. I went with 3 of my girl friends and we had a great time! We had a table right by the open kitchen. It was fun to get a glimpse of the masters at work! We ordered a glass of wine from their very nice wine list and we were on our way. I would say the menu is the perfect size, just enough choice as to not make your discission too difficult. We did find that this menu requires more than one visit because there is more we would like to taste. 😋 I can't say enough about our experience! Right from the front of the house, to the back and then to the end of the meal, everything was great!! Bravo, Prescott's Provisions!! You really should give it a try, you won't be disappointed P.S. TY Rick!!
Wow... Best damn meal and service I have had in years. The server (John) was very attentive but yet not overly... Perfect balance of personable but yet professional. Absolutely every dish ... From starters, (Brussels sprouts & octopus) to the main meal (braised beef short rib & Delmonico ribeye) to the deserts were so good. I will highly recommend and will be back. Well done!
Prescott's Provisions never disappoints! The food is always incredibly fresh and full of flavor you can truly taste the quality in every dish. Whether you're stopping in for lunch or dinner, the menu is consistently thoughtful and delicious. Their drinks are also amazing well-crafted, balanced, and a perfect complement to the meal. From the service to the atmosphere, it’s always a great experience. Highly recommend!
Just had the best espresso martini from Courtney! Tried it with Rum and it was so delicious! Courtney and Mark were so attentive and really enjoyed dining at the bar!
Amazing food and excellent service! It's gourmet, and the staff are knowledgeable. It's also quite popular, and the ceiling is high, so we felt like we were shouting a little bit during the rush. We didn't mind b/c the smells coming from the kitchen were delectable, and the food was top notch. One more thing: 4 drinks, 3 apps, and 4 mains was about $325, so be prepared. 100% worth it though.
This place is incredible. Great experience from the time I walked in. The owner was there to great us as we came in and our table was ready when we arrived. The hostess and our server were super friendly and helpful. Not your average menu. So many different choices from other restaurants. I had the scallops and they were perfect. My daughter had the pizza and loved it and she's hard to please. Had a great chat with the owner after dinner and he even showed us pictures of the place during the renovation. Super nice and I can't wait for them to open for lunch later this month. There will also be a bakery and a coffee shop. Gateway is just as nice as canalside in Buffalo. 👍👍
I recently visited this establishment and enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu, and it was the tastiest I’ve ever had! The lemon sauce with peas was perfectly balanced — flavorful without being overwhelming. My cousin had the steak, and she said it melted in her mouth — it was absolutely delicious. All eight of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and everyone agreed it was a fantastic dining experience. The waitress was exceptional; she was patient and friendly, making sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of, especially since we are a bit hard of hearing. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyment. As retirees on a fixed income, we found the prices to be a little on the higher side, which was a bit disappointing. However, considering the high quality of the food and service, it was still a worthwhile visit. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking for great food and a warm, welcoming environment. We’ll definitely be returning!
My boyfriend took me here yesterday for our anniversary and this place is truly an amazing experience. Everything is great, not one single hiccup. I used to work as a server and I can tell you it is hard to give that level of service and I’m not sure if it’s hectic as hell back there, but you would never know. The drinks were great, our waters were always filled, new silverware, incredible ambiance, amazing food beyond compare. I wish I could remember our servers name but he was a taller gentleman with some facial hair and he had a ton of pens- very prepared, very professional. He was outstanding as well, the entire staff was. Even the busser was great. I highly recommend this place 100/10. If I could give u a michelin star I would
Very competent staff all around. Our server Sarah had good energy. Water was always topped off. I don’t wax poetic about food. The tuna appetizer, linguine and gnochecetti entree was great. Homemade desserts were delicious. If you like a comfortable seat, get a booth with padded seats. The metal chairs put my bum to sleep after an hour and a half of sitting. And when the place is full, it’s loud. Nothing worth worrying about though.
We had an amazing time. We chose Prescott's to celebrate my sister's birthday. Our server treated us with kindness and was very respectful. He was knowledgeable about all of the offerings on the menu. There were so many tantalizing choices. It was difficult to decide so we ordered one large plate and eight small plates. We then ended such a wonderful experience with not one but two desserts. Everything that we ordered was delicious and the presentation was exceptional. Our eyes and our taste buds were never happier.
Went out to Prescott’s for dinner to celebrate valentines the day before by the way I’m very on point with food as I am a chef in the business for many years so kind of picky anyways had the 18 oz Ribeye special, Bigoli, Dauphine, focaccia bread and the Beet salad everything.. was done with the best ingredients, care and love fantastic job including the drinks! Our waitress was amazing can’t remember her name sry. Excellent job to the staff front and back of house keep up the fantastic job! This is now our favorite place to get the best food around.
So I've been reluctant to go here because people told me it was overpriced and small portions, this place is a adrenaline rush for your tatse buds, and absolute culinary experience. The food was absolutely incredible. If you eat Chili's and Olive Garden you won't understand. I could taste the quality in everything, and after eating a decent amount I didn't feel full. That's a good thing because you know the ingredients were high quality. Was it both pricey and smaller portions, yes, but was it worth it, hell yes. We got two specials, wagyu steak and the tuna appetizer, both amazing. The squid was awesome with complimentary sauces to enhance the flavor. Also tbe halibut was the best fish I've ever had, just because the way they cooked it.
Wow, wow, wow. Can't say enough good things about this gem in North Tonawanda. Everything we tried there was spectacular. The sauce that came with the arancini and artichokes was a little bit of creamy, garlicky heaven. The gnocchi was rich and delicious and the mushroom pizza was wood fired to perfection. Highly recommend!
Not sure why we waited so long to come here! Everything was awesome! Sat at the bar and Lisa took great care of us, from drinks to some great recommendations on what to eat. We started with the Brussel sprouts which were some of the best we ever had! My wife ordered the sea scallops and I had the grilled branzino ( a European bass). The scallops were cooked perfectly and my fish was the best fish dish I have ever had! Finished with the warm pistachio "cake" (it was more like a loaf) with salted caramel and caramel Gelato. Can't wait to go back to try some of (ok maybe all of) the other dishes!
One of the best surprises we came across. We are even planning another trip up here just to come back and eat again! The octopus was out of this world!! And the pork belly appetizer melted in your mouth! I had to take pictures and share because it was worth every penny and more! We didn’t order any heavy dishes since we were biking another 20 miles but next time we will indulge further!
Everything about this place was amazing! We celebrated a 40th birthday and it was perfect! Only downside is the parking is not ideal. We had to park pretty far away, and on a snowy January evening, it was a long cold walk.
Overall, food and drinks were excellent! Service was beyond that! We had Rick as our server and he was knowledgeable of every dish and drink....tool the time to suggest popular items and was very attentive. The pork rib chop was out of the world!! If you're looking for a great atmosphere and food, I highly recommend.
We have been wanting to come here and our anniversary was the perfect opportunity. All I can say is, Wow! The atmosphere, menu, drinks, and service were all amazing. We started with the cheddar popovers. They were hot, crisp and perfect. The accent of cheddar was perfect with the crème fraiche butter. I’ve never met a popover that I didn’t like! Next up was possibly one of the best dishes I’ve had in a very long time. Pressed watermelon, prosciutto, arugula, almonds and feta with a touch of chili oil. The melon was extra sweet from the compression process and it played perfectly with the saltiness of the prosciutto and feta. The chili oil was subtle and not too hot but added a different and surprising element to this updated classic dish. The sweet corn aranchini were also very good. The pistachio was a nice update in the pesto and the accompaniments made this a lovely summer dish. It was pretty hard to stand out after the previous dish. The flavor of the octopus was good and it was interesting to try it with the romesco sauce and chick peas. I thought the texture was slightly chewy and it threw me off a little bit. Overall though good flavors. Next we had the grilled branzino. The fish was delicious and perfectly cooked. The eggplant was different and the salsa verde went perfectly with the dish. And for dessert we had the brown butter cake. It was rich and not too sweet. We had a great time! We can’t wait to come back.
Top notch Food and service. I had the salmon and my wife had a delicious steak special. Appetizer was great, server was funny, and dessert was amazing as well. Has a view of their canal too. 5/5 would come back
The Gnocchetti with boar ragu was a good dish main dish. And the beef tartare appetizer was solid. The mustard seed was very prevalent. Almost didn’t order the focaccia but glad I did because it was perfect. And the butter that comes with it surprisingly had some good flavor/spicing to it. Probably my favorite part of the meal
My wife and I recently dined at Prescott's Provisions for our wedding anniversary, and we truly enjoyed our experience. The ambiance along the river was remarkable, and the staff was accommodating and genuine, but not overwhelming. We enjoyed the "House-made Bread" (which was not on the menu by itself, but we were not hungry enough for a full charcuterie board, so requested it on its own) as an appetizer. It was grilled and lightly topped with salt, which brought out some deep and rustic flavors. We then split the "Baby Beets" vegetable course. The presentation was outstanding and the taste was out of this world. I'm not a beet fanatic, but the goat cheese, pistachio and puffed quinoa combo would bring me back. Finally, we split the "Sea Scallops" and "Neapolitan Salami" wood-fired pizza. The scallops were, quite possibly, the best I've ever had—especially when paired with the risotto and charred corn they came with. The highlight of the pizza was the house-made mozzarella. All-in, our bill was around $87, which included a beer, a pop and tip. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an elevated experience along the water, and I can't wait to see what comes next from the kitchen.
My wife and I went for our anniversary meal. I Made a reservation thinking this is a new hot spot and I most likely wouldn’t get in if I just try to walk in. We were sat at a 2 top on the wall with a nice view of the canal from the side window and the open garage doors. We were greeted quickly by our server who continued to be prompt throughout our visit - getting our drinks, orders and continuous amounts of food. We ordered the Octopus, which was light but tasty at the same time. Next we had the baby romaine salad and deep fried cauliflower. The baby Romain is topped with pickled eggs and onions which I was excited about. The pickling did not over take the rest of the dish but complimented the blue cheese and fresh tomatoes on the side. The deep fried cauliflower is very tasty, no greasy at all and nice and crisp. For our main courses my wife ordered the ricotta gnocchi with a porched egg. She was nervous about the egg, but we each had a bite prior to breaking the egg, and though it was good once the egg was cracked you understand why. It brought a rich flavor an already delightful dish. I went with the best meat on the planet, “Duck” which was cooked to perfection. The skin was perfectly seared/carmlized and the meat was cooked to a perfect Medium Rare. The display intertwined the palet making my tastebuds dance the night away. We finished off the evening with a chocolate mousse dessert. It was absolutely delicious, not heavy and only 8 dollars which was large enough for two to share. I highly recommend this spot over and over to the individual who wants to explore culinary excellence that they will not get in most establishments in the area.
As the owner of AVA Roofing, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Prescott Provision, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, making us feel right at home. The staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, which featured a delightful array of dishes. The food itself was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was crafted with precision and care, highlighting fresh, local ingredients. The flavors were well-balanced and truly memorable. I particularly enjoyed the seared scallops, which were perfectly cooked and paired with a delicious, seasonal vegetable medley. Overall, Prescott Provision exceeded my expectations in every way. It's clear that they take great pride in their culinary offerings and customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in the area.
I have been there two times. First time I came in with low expectations and was absolutely blown away. I ordered the beets appetizer, rib eye steak, and pistachio desert. All three were literally the best food I may have ever tasted. It reset the biochemistry in my dopamine system. The food blew me away. The service was extreme. I never knew someone could get that deep into the details of the food. Second time I came in with very high expectations and was somehow blwon away again. I ordered wagu short rib balls sauce and had a del Monaco steak followed by a strawberry rhubarb tart. The rib balls were descent but the Del Monaco was just impossibly good. The truffle sauce on the side was soooooo good. The desert was also very good. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I feel like I am eating at a restaurant like Dorcia. Well done chaps.
Wow this place is great. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Started with a homemade burrata with smoked & fermented chile peperonata wich was excellent. The cheddar popovers were light airy and fresh with a fantastic crème fraîche butter. The raw oyster were fresh and had a kick with persian cucumber, yuzu, dill pollen and homemade habanero hot sauce. The special app of the day was a lamb terrine that I can't stop craving more of. For dinner I had a daily special mediterranean fish with homemade caponata and a fantastic homemade sardinian pasta that was similar to israeli couscous but better but was toasted. My wife is a vegatarian and called a head of time. Chef Vinny created a sweet pea risotto with a mix of wild and toasted mushrooms. She said it was the best vegetarian dish she has ever had. Cocktails were fantastic Highly highly recommend.
I only have two restaurants that I frequent, and recommend to others. I am proud to say, Prescott Provisions is the proud owner of my third choice. PP is located in Tonawanda right across from the canal. They have outdoor seating and the views are amazing. Just a note make reservations early, because these seats fill up fast. Don't worry if you missed out on sitting outside. You can still enjoy watching the walkers, bicyclist, or the boats from the inside. Tim was our server and he did a great job. His personality is fun and engaging. The way he explains the entree's and the cocktail selections. Is on another level. When you get your entrees or drinks, it's exactly how he described it to be. For this evening we ordered- Brussel sprouts- nice and crispy flavored just right. I was nervous about the mustard seeds, because they can be overwhelming at times. But that wasn't the case here, it was a nice touch to the dish. Lamb ribs (special)- This was a appetizer and it was quite tasty. If you like Asian foods, you will like the soy bbq sauce they use to glaze the ribs. I definitely was licking my finger tips on these. Wood roasted chicken sausage- I love polenta so I had to order this dish. The sausage has a light flavor to it, and it was just ok. But for me, I feel it's out of place to be a dinner entree. This dish would be perfect for a breakfast or a brunch entree. Smoked lamb shank- Literally, with the twist of the bone the lamb shank deconstructs into a mountain of meat. Mixed with the bbq lentils, every bite was delicious. The bbq flavor was not overpowering. They almost reminded me of bake beans, but more subtle. In all the PP was really good..I'm actually looking to make another reservation right now. I suggest you do the same soon.
The steak special was a grade 9 wagyu steak which is comparable to A5 Japanese wagyu and it definitely lived up to its name. It was very delicious insanely tender melt In your mouth steak with mushrooms and truffles grated on top. The waiter knew an enormous amount of information about the food on the menu and was able to answer all questions we had. I personally recommend you come here and let the chef work his magic it was an amazing meal. I will definitely be coming back here again.
Prescott's Provisions offers a cozy, welcoming vibe with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Their menu features a creative mix of American comfort food with a modern twist. The dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, and the staff is attentive and friendly. It’s a great spot for brunch or a relaxed dinner.
Very good service, food and drinks! Appetizer was the bruschetta with added prosciutto on the side ( really good). We got the special which was wagyu beef with truffle topping. I also got the chestnut ravioli. We added tequila to the cocktails which worked perfectly. For dessert we got the Spanish vanilla cheesecake which had hazelnuts and whipped cream+ cinnamon on the side. Overall really good! Would come again.
We had an excellent meal here. It’s not cheap but it was worth every penny. We had salmon, pasta, burger and steak. We had the brown bread for dessert it was all delicious! My husband and just dined here again; we shared 4 appetizers and the focaccia bread, excellent! I didn’t get pics this time but we will be back!
My husband and I chose this charming spot for our 2nd anniversary dinner, and it exceeded our expectations! We started our evening with speciality cocktails recommended by our waitress that did not disappoint! I had the Gin Blossom that was perfect for a 98 degree day. With a perfect blend of gin, elderflower, and prosecco, this drink is satisfying and refreshing. My husband ordered the Trentino Manhattan that, according to our Waitress, stays as a staple on their menu. And rightfully so! If you are a fan of classic cocktails, this will reignite your love for them. For our appetizer, we indulged in the golden Kaluga caviar "tater tots," which were a luxurious and delightful twist on a classic comfort food. The caviar added a rich buttery contrast to the crispy, golden tots, setting the stage for a memorable meal. Our main courses were equally impressive. We had the Waygu steak with black truffles, a special that night, and it was a culinary masterpiece. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the black truffles added an earthy, decadent flavor that elevated every bite. We also enjoyed the tender striploin, which was juicy and flavorful. The ambiance at Prescott's Provisions is both casual and sophisticated, perfect for a special occasion or a regular night out. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, making our anniversary dinner feel even more special. Overall, Prescott's Provisions provided an exceptional dining experience with its creative dishes and welcoming atmosphere. It's a place we'd highly recommend for locals or anyone visiting the area! We look forward to visiting again!
A Masterclass in Craft: From Artichokes to Rambo Knives. If you are reading this and you are a foodie… "just go" You do not need to read this review. You will not be disappointed. I’m lucky to be able to travel the world devouring beef tartare, and in my opinion that is the purest way to gauge an establishment. I can tell you right now, this place is elite. I am visiting from London, UK, and have spent my entire career working in hospitality. Since I am only in the city every six months, we intentionally over-ordered to see what the kitchen could really do. From mise en place to sauces and purées, every detail landed. A flawless guest experience. The Standouts: Starters: The octopus and prawns were both top tier tens, but the artichokes were on another level. That sauce was liquid gold. Absolute perfection. And of course, I would not have troubled you to read this if the tartare was not bursting with flavor and the beef jerky garnish genuinely inspired. Mains: We had the hanger and the strip. Both were seasoned and rested to a world class standard. There is a primal joy in commanding a Rambo style steak knife through meat this good. Sides: The Swiss chard stole the show, creamy and crowned with a crisp crumb for contrast. The buttery mash alongside it grounded the plate beautifully. The Finish: Our waitress, Leah, described the dessert with such genuine love for food that we could not resist. Pistachio, bananas Foster, apple and caramel arrived in perfect harmony. The tableside French press coffee sealed the night with depth and clarity. A precise final note. Vibe: Crisp, clean, modern decor with warm wood and a classy, confident swagger, but still somewhere you could swing a cleaver. The high ceilings and open kitchen take center stage, giving the room an electric pulse. I loved the contrast of the intentional interior against snow pressed to the windows and river grit swirling outside. I will definitely be back in the summer to see it in another light. Service: The entire journey was exceptional, starting with the hostess and carried through by Leah and her commis waiter. Her professionalism, deep knowledge of the menu, and attention to the guest experience were phenomenal. You can clearly see Head Chef "Vinny" Thompson has mastered his craft. That passion flows through the team and onto the plate. This restaurant is a true 716 gem that creates lasting memories and a serious taste bud awakening. An absolute 10 out of 10 dining experience. It gets busy, so book ahead… then go have some culinary fun with that blade.
Truly exceptional. Stunning atmosphere, food and service. Absolutely our new favorite restaurant in WNY. The charcoal grill and oven put out mouthwatering steaks and charred sides. The bartender, meat station and pastry chefs were incredible, and clearly dedicated to their craft. We'll be back, often.
Prescott Provisions in Tonawanda is one of those rare places where every visit feels special. The food is always superb — thoughtfully crafted, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the kitchen takes pride in every dish. Whether it’s a small plate or a full entrée, everything we’ve tried has been excellent. The service is just as impressive: friendly, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. The staff truly adds to the overall experience and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, with just the right balance of casual and upscale. It’s perfect for a date night, a dinner with friends, or a special occasion. Definitely one of the best spots in the Tonawanda area — we’ll keep coming back!
One of my favorite spots in Buffalo. Beautiful, simple, clean design inside. Great staff and excellent food. Gorgeous plating and they do a great job of taking things you know and reimagining them. Great selection of wine. Can’t go wrong with the popovers and one of the steaks or other meat entrees - always perfectly cooked. Good portions, you won’t leave hungry lol easy to forget about this place because it’s north of the city but it’s really a pretty easy quick drive from downtown
One good thing about this restaurant is that a lot of things are made from scratch, which is nice, and also likely why the prices are quite high for the portion size... I could see if it was high quality organic food but it's not. If you go on a weekday after 6:00 you may have trouble finding a parking spot. Service is always good. Food doesn't take too long either. The artichoke appetizer was pretty good.. nice crunchy coating on the artichokes and the sauce was very lemony. The rib appetizer is delicious when it's fresh and not reheated. The ribs are tender, not fatty, flavorful, just fantastic. The focaccia was also outstanding, soft, buttery, the perfect amount of crisp on the outside and the butter that was served with it was unbelievably delicious! The dauphine was to die for. The texture was phenomenal, lightly crisp on the outside soft and creamy on the inside, super flavorful. We both said we would order extra of those next time. The bigoli pasta had a bit of a chewy texture, but the sauce was great. Slices of garlic, basil, Rich flavorful sauce, not sweet at all. I loved the white cheddar popovers, the inside of them had a wonderful soft stretchy texture, with a browned crisp outside, had a really nice flavor and a dollop of cheesy butter?( I'm not sure ) but it was really good. My friend said the mashed potatoes were five stars, super smooth and creamy. The steak was...meh. we both said we've had better steaks from Carrabba's or even outback. The summer corn ravioli with truffles was okay, It had a creamy sauce that kind of reminded me of Alfredo sauce, the corn was fantastic, fresh and tender, delicious. The ravioli was homemade but rather bland, and the truffles were also very bland. Definitely not Worth $40 in my opinion. The brown butter cake with caramel and toffee came with a side of vanilla gelato, and fresh cherries. Sooo great !! The passion fruit chocolate layer cake with gelato was also very good, the passion fruit layer was very flavorful, the cake was moist and soft, the texture and flavor of everything was great. Definitely very pricey for small portions so be prepared for that. Also, when we placed our order we also ordered a pizza to go, when we left they brought the pizza out and it was completely cold. The pizza was actually pretty good.
Food was excellent. My boyfriend had the strip steak and I had the salmon. Unfortunately, the metal chairs are uncomfortable. I hope they update them in the future.
This was my 4th time dining at Prescott's Provisions, and this last time really solidified that this is one of the best restaurants in Buffalo. Go in a group because you're going to want to taste the whole menu as that's the best way to enjoy the experience. We went in a group of 8 so really got everything. Started with focaccia with mortadella, oysters, tartare, tuna, and ordered the ravioli as an appetizer. Paired with a gin martini and I was happy happy. But what really wowed me this visit was the wagyu steak special. Best steak of my life.
One of the best meals I’ve had in Buffalo in a long time. Tried serveral different appetizers and two main dishes. The beef tartare was some one the best I’ve ever had. The Focaccia bread with prosciutto and butter is a must have. Oysters were so fresh. Caviar and pork belly also amazing. Lobster Pasta was homemade and the sauce was delicious. The fries I had as a side for the burger was some of the best French fries I’ve ever had in my life. Dessert was homemade. I can’t believe I haven’t tried this place sooner. Our server Nick provided top notch service and was very knowledgeable. I was very impressed.
We absolutely loved our whole experience! We came as part of our company holiday celebrations at Twin City Massage and left full, happy, and laughing our butts off. The decor is gorgeous and we all agree the bar top is worth staring at the whole time (because we're weird like that). Beautiful!
Made reservations here at the last minute on a Friday night. They dont do fish fry so we figured we had a chance. IYKYK. Got a table for 2 at 5 pm no problem. We'd decided to just do small plates and cocktails. That was fine with them, yay! But our waitress Leah let us know splitting a large plate would have been fine as well. This restaurant is simple but beautiful inside. During the summer they have outdoor seating as well, but on a stormy January night it was warm and welcoming. We started with the Sheep's Milk Burrata and Durham Wheat Foccacia with delicious butter. The burrata was served over eggplant caponata with some incredible prosciutto on the side, topped with a crispy parmesan crisp. The two were amazing together and was even delicious for the diner who hates eggplant. There was no rush with food, drinks came out quickly, and after we'd had time to finish our first two plates (plenty for two to share), we got our Wood Grilled Lamb Kabob and Brussel Sprouts. The kabobs were actually 3 good size ground lamb patties. These were served with pickled delicata squash, and an herb and seed salad as well as a yogurt dip. Crazy good. This place is perfect for a special event, or a quick appetizer and a drink. The wine list is 25+ pages long with bottles ranging from $30-ish to $15,000 per bottle! They also have nice wines by the glass. Desserts are crazy good. We got the Brown Butter Pistachio Cake topped with Bananas Foster and Espresso ice cream on the side. Don't "consider" this restaurant, DO IT! We spent time over our cocktails planning our next visit! And we loved our waitress Leah. Sassy, friendly, and let us know about all the scratch made, in-house and local ingredients. She's stellar!
As a pastry chef, this is my favorite restaurant in Buffalo. The food is incredible, and I love that dessert is never an after thought here. The atmosphere is alive and electric. If you want a quiet, intimate space, this is not the spot. But the hustle and bustle, loud laughing, and excellent cocktails will for sure show you a good time when you are there. 5 stars, never a bad meal, and the staff is so accommodating and kind. Great job Team Prescott!
Great experience. Clean and sophisticated flavors. One of the best beef Tartars in the area, fish is always delightful and cooked to perfection with sauces that you would like to scoop with a spoon (that is brought to you with other silverware, so no need to feel awkward to ask for one), because leaving the sauce is the crime. Pastries are next level and made fresh in tglhe house. Tonight was for Basque cheesecake and poached in Amaro pears - lovely.
My first time here; one of the best meals that I ever had, our server Leah was the best. From the small plates that we had of golden kaluga caviar "tater tots" and the beets to our large plates of Duck sausage a'lorange, duroc pork and honey nut squash ravioli; all the food was perfect. Also the cocktails were amazing.
This place is in my opinion the best restaurant in town. I have been here several times and had many different dishes, all of them were amazing. The drinks are also fantastic. The service has always been amazing. The specials are good and the menu changes often. This is my favorite place to go for a birthday or anniversary.
Everything was fantastic! The arancini was perfectly crispy and full of flavor, and the Bigoli pasta was so good I ordered another one to take home for the next day. I don’t remember the name of my dessert, but it was phenomenal too. Great service, delicious food, and a great spot overall — can’t wait to go back!
This is our favorite restaurant in all of Buffalo for any special occasion dinner. The menu is always changing seasonally to keep us coming back and everything from the small plates, to entrees, to cocktails is always 10/10 delicious. We've never had a single complaint. And the service is top notch as well. They are so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, they can help you choose exactly which food or drinks will be perfect for your taste preferences. We keep thinking we should branch out and try new places, but it's hard to want to when every date night at Prescott's is the best food and service we can imagine. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was our first time at Prescotts, all I can say is that everything was Great! We had the oysters and caviar tater tots for appetizers, the flavors were amazing. The swordfish schnitzel, hangar steak and truffle ravioli were cooked perfectly and again the flavor combinations were perfect. The pistachio cake wax next level and the Manhattan was on point! Highly recommended, wait staff was engaging and helpful with menu.
The steak special, pork, and burger were all delicious - my mom said it was the best burger she’s ever had. Our server (I think Connor?) was wonderful and the kitchen was very accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Patio was lovely but definitely gets a lot of sun on half of it. We would love to eat here again!
Prescott’s is one of our go to choices because the food, service, and atmosphere are always top notch! I would normally recommend making reservations if you are planning on dinner. They have a large indoor and outdoor space but it fills quickly. I would always opt for the patio if you can. The food is phenomenal. I think we’ve tried most of their small plates and quite honestly the small plates are the standout on the menu. The artichokes are my guilty pleasure and I think I’d cry if they ever got taken off the menu. Some of our other regular favorites are the aranchini and focaccia. The mains are still good, don’t get me wrong. The pastas are great and their steak is always fantastic. They typically have a steak meal on the menu and then a special.. always get the special, it’s so good!
This place is out of this world. This is easily one of the best restaurants on Buffalo. We went for our anniversary and every aspect of our meal was delicious. We didn’t want to stop eating it was so good. Also we left satisfied and not overly full which is good. Worth going here as it was a top 5 meal we’ve ever had!
It was my birthday last night and a snowstorm lol. I have never been to this restaurant however I am so glad that we ended up there. The service at the bar was outstanding by Mark, who explained every dish off the menu from the top of his head. The waitress, Elizabeth, could not have been more pleasant. The food was astronomical, and the kitchen was pristine as I was able to go in the back and say hello and thank you personally. I highly recommend this establishment for the ambience, the friendliness, and the atmosphere as it was one of the finest places I have ever been. They strived to make my birthday a beautiful evening, and it absolutely was everything I could have ever wished for. Please check out this establishment and don’t pass it by as it will be a fantastic experience.
Great place for date night. The parking is for clown cars only but there’s a lot across the street. Our service (Connor) was excellent. We started with oysters, and though they don’t offer cocktail sauce, the pepper topping was delicious. The wood fired pizza could have used a bit more sauce, but that’s just our preference. Still awesome. They had a waygu special with truffles and it was top notch. Dessert though, out of this world. A cake with pistachio bark and a quinelle of superior vanilla ice cream. Drinks were prompt & perfect ratios. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
Went to celebrate my birthday. Very happy to see a restaurant in Tonawanda so busy on a week night. On the negative side, it was so loud that we couldn’t hear each other talk. The chairs could also be more comfortable. Wish I was in the mood for wine. The options were expansive. The beer list very limited and $9 for a can of beer is a bit much. We shared the cod dinner and strip loin dinner. The strip loin was rare as we ordered and delicious the sauce amazing. Came with a potato and asparagus. Only two spears. The cod was perfect! Crisp skin, moist and very goof. It came on top of garbanzo beans in a chili sauce and a mouse of some sort that wasn’t very flavorful. I liked the cod so much that I would probably order again with a salad. Highly recommend the pistachio cake with warm caramel sauce, whipped cream and pistachio ice cream. We will return but full disclosure, for the price point, the fine dining restaurant over the bridge is a more classy, cozy, comfortable experience
Service was great and the location is also very good, right on the canal. Our drinks were good albeit a bit pricey. Didn't have a chance to get food as they don't serve dinner until 5pm which seems a little weird but the menu looked pretty good. I would say that the food would also bit a little pricey unless perhaps it's of the absolute highest quality. Won't be able to find out until next time though.
We drove out to Prescott’s because it had won a Best Of award in a Buffalo magazine I was reading. The restaurant is beautiful, its right on the water. You can eat outside but it was raining when we went. They had delicious cocktails made from their well stocked bar. We chose 3 dishes and shared them between the four of us. The grilled octopus was my favourite, it was charred just the right amount. We also had salmon and finished off with a mushroom pizza. The space was bustling and will definitely go back this summer.
Food and service were phenomenal! I had the pork belly after much deliberation but the server promised us it was the best around. He was correct! Artichoke apps did not disappoint either. Only 4 stars because we wanted to purchase gift cards but they aren’t available. Yet.
The food is overpriced for the quality. We ordered lobster roll, tagliatelle pasta and foie gras mousse. Lobster roll was delicious, everything else was the average. Pasta had way too much of acidic notes and I wish the mousse was just a regular pate. Also we noted that the website had outdated menu. Amazing service though. They really try to make you feel welcomed.
Definitely recommend making reservations if it's a weekend as they are pretty busy. We were able to sit outside on their patio which was lovely. Our waiter was incredible. He explained the menu in great detail, answered any questions we had, and made sure everything was to our liking. Of note, their menu does change with the seasons but they have some items that remain throughout. We went with a smoked Mozzarella ball appetizer... amazing!!!! And for our main dishes, I had salmon with smoked carrots and my boyfriend enjoyed a shrimp pasta dish. Although, the food was good I don't think I would get the same items again. Overall love the atmosphere and look forward to the next visit.
Had a wonderful dinner here. Started off with the popovers, which were topped with prosciutto. For dinner, I had salmon. Two others in our party had the cod and one had the short ribs. My salmon was very flavorful and cooked well. All other meals were reportedly excellent also. Our server was excellent, very friendly, and had great suggestions. Definitely looking forward to warmer weather when we can enjoy their patio.
We went there for the first time yesterday. The service was wonderful and very attentive. Our only real complaint was that the covered patio was freezing where we were sitting, and I definitely didn’t dress for being “outside” because I didn’t think we would be (especially since our reservation said “indoor” dining) We were also sitting on metal chairs which made it worse. They did have one of those outdoor heaters on the ceiling but they didn’t have it turned on. The food was good but also got cold really fast.
The Oysters and Cow Burrata Bruschetta were amazing as well as the Halibut and Lamb entrees. The best dishes we had for a long time. Creative, beautifully presented and mouth watering. The desserts wonderful. The service was quick but could need some improvement , The metallic chairs were not my favorite to sit on. We can definitely recommend it if you want to have a good food experience. Assuming the summer time experience in front fochten river will be exceptional.
It was our first time here, food was amazing. We tried the beets salad which was wow and the truffle pizza. For dessert we got the dulce de leche chocolate mousse cake, that was also delicious. The service was disappointing though. Everything took too long and the server was not too nice.
Our server Tim was so friendly and knowledgeable. Great vibe, a little loud inside. Food was delicious with a few tweaks (burger was very undercooked/red and king salmon was close to raw on the middle, even though that was “medium” for the chef). In all we enjoyed the experience. Octopus appetizer was delicious!
I first went here a few years ago and did not have the amazing experience that so many others have raved about. However I’m so beyond happy I went back tonight for another chance. While it is a pricier meal it didn’t disappoint at all! We got the caviar tater tot which was amazing along with some non alcoholic beverages which was a plus! I went with bartenders choice and she made a delightful punch that was flavorful and sweet but not overpowering! My husband got the steak and I got the duck special which were both absolutely amazing! Mine had a sweet/sour cabbage with it that was so amazing! We also finished off with the pistachio brown butter cake and that was amazing! Not only was our food amazing we were lucky to have Leah as our server, not only did we get great service but warm, personable conversation as well! I couldn’t wait to make mention since it was such a great and impressive experience from our first time and I’m so grateful for giving another chance! The only reason I docked a star is because the metal chairs are terribly uncomfortable. I would have loved to be just a bit more comfortable for the price point of the meal. Other than that I would definitely recommend coming here!
Food was great, server was incrediblely slow and inattentive. The most disappointing thing would be making Reservations for "indoor seating" only to be sat on uncomfortable patio furniture.
Dined at Prescott’s recently and found the staff friendly and efficient, but unfortunately the metal chairs were so uncomfortable you could hardly enjoy your meal. The food was unique and prepared nicely, but the noise level made conversing a definite challenge. Because of the echo factor, some patrons had to almost scream to be heard, and you felt like you were a part of other people’s conversations. Even though the food and drinks were unique, and the setting on the canal was nice, all in all it’s not worth a return visit.
Their menu sounds good and when the food is properly seasoned it tastes good, but they are too heavy handed with the salt! I wish they would lighten up so that I could enjoy the food. I came back after several years and was hoping that they had addressed their over salting issue, but they haven’t. Their desserts are amazing, but I don’t think I would go back.
Wasn’t really a fan of the food. It was ok but for the prices the cooks on the meats were rough at best. And the noodles dishes were drenched in butter. All of the dishes were lukewarm by the time they hit the table. The dining area noise levels made it difficult to converse with the rest of the table. Overall it’s mid for the cost.
No rolls, no salad! Steak was ok, some green stringy vegetables! Hah a hamburger that had so much junk on it I couldn’t pick it up to eat it! Very pricey! Potatoes were runny. Food was cold! Waiter never came back to ask us how are food was. Would not recommend.
I can't speak about the food due to the fact they confirmed my reservation made Dec 20th. Reconfirmed the reservation Jan 2 then the system then cancelled the reservation on Jan 2 that was for Jan 3. Contacted the restaurant, they would not honor my reservation and claimed that the system over booked and that I should have called to confirm. yet they want you to use the online system. Do not use the online reservation system!!!! Thanks for ruining my 60th birthday.
OVERPRICED! for what we received. We love the experience of fine dining and are foodies and ABSOLUTELY don’t mind spending $ on QUALITY food but this was NOT WORTH IT. Duck duck goose was SALT SALT HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. The duck sausage had an off pudding taste to it as well. My husbands pork dish was the same(I believe our blood pressure went up and we did not even finish our meals). We were asked about our meal and told her it was salty but that was it. As we left the restaurant we our friends they asked us would we come back and wr all ageeed NO! My husbands pork dish proceeded to come home and warm up some leftovers from the previous night and I was too salty too irritated to join him!
The atmosphere was great but the food quality and taste of the food was disappointing. We started with two small plates. Our friends ordered the beet salad, which was good and we ordered the scallops which were good as well, all beit ,very pricey for two small scallops and a squash puree and a sprinkle of caviar. Then it was downhill from there. My friend and I ordered the Duroc Pork. It was beyond extreme on the salt level. My wife had the duck duck goose; extremely salty and just flat out did not taste good. We were asked how everything was going but it felt like someone asking you " do you want help washing the dishes" when they really hope you will say no or don't really want to help. I told our server the meal was salty and it was not even acknowledged as if I didn't even utter the words. Like many in western NY, we have been to many places to eat locally and around the world. We could never recommend this restaurant for the disappointing main courses . The cost is not commensurate with the taste. There are way better options across the canal.
Went to dinner yesterday with my girlfriend and we were the first ones to get a table. She ordered the bigoli and I ordered the wagyu special. The food took 30 minutes to get to our table and we weren’t checked on for 15 minutes after that. The special was advertised medium rare and I received a well done steak. My girlfriend’s pasta was undercooked and the sauce was broken and had way too much lemon juice and it was unbearable to eat. The lobster in the pasta dish was way overcooked and chewy.
