Great food, tasty drinks, awesome service even when I didn’t have reservations and sat at the bar. Tried the raviolis and the lobster filled salmon. Salmon cakes and clam chowder to start. Everything was tasty, they brought sourdough bread and parm cheese separately but it was a nice touch. 10/10 will be back again. A little pricy but worth it.
Excellent food and service. Perfect scenic view and lovely live jazz piano playing. It’s such a gem in the waterfront of Oakland Jack London area. Watching the water taxi ferrying between Alameda and Oakland was quite interesting. Food- clam chowder was tasty and creamy , I could go for another cup. Raw oysters from British Columbia were fresh and sweet. The house made sauces were great pairing with the oysters. Rockerfella oysters and fish and chips were also fantastic. Crispy and not too salty. Fish was juicy inside with sufficient temperature heat. The string fries were very good. Blue cheese Romain salad with bacon were crisp and delicious. Overall very satisfying meal in a beautiful sunny afternoon .
Celebrated NYE at Scott's having their flash fried octopus, seafood pasta, and lobster stuffed ravioli with a special holiday bourbon cocktail. Everything was tasty to delicious, service is a real class act, and the atmosphere is like being lost in a painting. I don't need to reccomend Scott's it's a staple here in Oakland, one of the few operations keeping JLS alive, but I can't reccomend them enough.
Excellent food. Great waiter. Thank you. We had 15 people wedding reception
This restaurant has a great location. The views of the water are nice, and it has many quiet seats for a romantic evening meal. I visit here occasionally with my Darling, and we are always well-catered to by the team. The food is so tasty, and the presentation makes it even more delightful. There's a parking garage nearby, or you can hire a ride service. Either way, I like the trendy area with many sights and activities. There's a free shuttle across the waterway to what appears to be an excellent spot for a walk. It's a very active area around the restaurant, so I plan to make a day of it on my next visit. So one of my favorite places to visit over the last couple of years.
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 - Located in the heart of Jack London Square, this seafood restaurant is a true gem. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with stunning views of the waterfront. The seafood was fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the visit. From the perfectly seasoned dishes to the friendly service, it was a top-notch dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy delicious seafood in a fantastic setting!
This has to be one of the best seafood spots I've been to. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was great, had a table with a view of the water and sail boats. Best of all, the food was amazing. Everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommend the Clam chowder, one of the best chowders for sure. I also ordered the bear salad which was not only delicious but also had a great presentation. The banana bread pudding... 😋 Was out of this world. Highly recommend everything on the menu! They also surprised my mum I with a rose and a complimentary sherbet served on dried ice. Awesome experience. They also printed out a photo of the experience and gave it to us!
We had several opportunities to have dinner and lunch in this restaurant. It never disappointed us. Fresh food, perfectly cooked and presented. Highly recommended!
Took my parents here for their anniversary. Excellent service & service. Beautiful view of the bay! Had the fliet and it was perfectly prepared. Great time had by all.
Was the best. As always. We go every year for our Bdays 🎂 . Four of us. At least 6-7 years or more.
We came here for lunch on a Friday. We had a really big group, and they were able to set us up on the patio. This is definitely one of those places where you're paying in part for the view of the waterfront. The food was definitely good as well, everything was just $5-10 more than it should have been. I did note they have a stated dress code, they didn't enforce it with us so it might more apply for dinner? If I was in Jack London Square again I would definitely consider eating here if I was in the mood for seafood.
FANTASTIC!!! We took my Dad to Scott's for his 90th Birthday and everything was top service. The food was excellent, the service was beyond exceptional and so was the view. They also served fresh begniets with every meal. The best part was the Live Jazz during Sunday Brunch. I'm looking forward to going again!
The place was great, food was delicious and the service was excellent!! We had a great time celebrating my birthday last night. Thank you for the birthday surprise (rose, sorbet and souvenir photo). It made my birthday celebration memorable and extra special. And to our server Alejandra M who did an excellent job taking care of us, thank you very much!
I enjoyed myself here. Our waitress was awesome and super helpful in choosing best dishes. The nice photo and comp sorbet after dinner was so lovely. The music on the piano was great too! Nice touch, I can’t wait to visit again!
Great ambiance near the ocean. I felt like a man of means. The staff was courteous, and they had a grand piano and artwork inside the restaurant. Great place to take a special someone if you are trying to impress.
We were lucky enough to work an event here. The food and atmosphere was top notch. The staff treated us very good. I can't wait for our next event here. Dj/photo booth.
Very nice upscale place with a casual feel. The food was incredible and the service was nothing short of amazing. They have food and drinks for a range of taste pallets, so should be able to please everyone in the group. If I'm ever in town again I will definitely be returning.

Great seafood restaurant with water views in Jack London Square. Great ambiance with unique decor, good views and a live pianist. Good seafood and wine selection. They offer a tasty sorbet for birthdays with a birthday candle, and even take and print out a photo of you that you can take with you— very cute! Overall, I’d say this is one of my favorite restaurants in Jack London Square!
Everything I ordered was 100% Delicious....staff very helpful and polite. Love 💘 loved my server Charles was my server he is very efficient and so helpful...everything he served us was 100% delicious..I'll be returning real soon! I have told all my friends to go and try it out they open 300 to 900pm....Great atmosphere...love the 🎶music !
Scott’s had a swanky supper club vibe, and sitting by the window almost made it feel like we were on a ship. Beautiful views, gracious staff, delicious food. I can’t wait to come back!
Hadn't been here in years. I'm glad that we picked this place for my aunt's birthday brunch. It's a Wonderful restaurant with quality food. We were there for a Sunday brunch for my aunt's birthday they serve a wonderful jazz brunch with a great piano player. The strawberry mimosas are delish. The Beignets are a must-have. I ordered the halibut and was very very pleased with my meal. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful waterfront views. Classic restaurant 🌟
Dined in for a birthday celebration. The buffet offered wonderfully tasty options: asparagus/carrots, scalloped potatoes, chicken with creamy sauce, steak, salmon and ravioli. I easily could've gobbled down seconds and third LOL! Salad was served at our individual seating with a delicious vinaigrette; as well as water and iced tea. Coffee was offered later. The rooms were well lit, several views of the Bay/marina. A gentleman was playing the piano during the last hour out on the main floor, lovely. It was rather nippy such could be attributed to the fluctuating temperatures Mother Nature has thrown at us thus season. I enjoyed myself nonetheless and will definitely return!! Superb food, waitstaff, piano, bar and what I believe was the option to make purchases of the meats/seafood.
Delicious food and excellent service. My birthday friend received a rose and a photo. .
Fabulous location in Jack London Square on the water with views of the marina. Excellent service. Terrific food. They had a great quartet singing carols at Christmas and you could see the lighted boats. Really lovely. Comfortable seating.
Kimmy and I stop by for lunch. Provided sunny spot on patio. Enjoyed grilled octopus and spring salad. When in jack London square highly recommend stopping by Scott's seafood. Kimmy gives two paws up.
Scott’s Seafood in Oakland delivered such a great experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and the service was warm without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere is relaxed but still feels special, with a view that makes the meal feel above and beyond, like a treat!
Attended a wonderful birthday luncheon held in one of the private dining rooms. Setup and wait staff impeccable and accommodating. There is valet parking and convenient parking garage across the way. Glad to see Scott's holding their own as an iconic seafood specialty, ever more so, to this day.
The food was very good. I want to return and try other dishes. The service was top notch, by far. My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary. Nearing the end of the dinner, we were presented with one rose each and had a photograph taken by the hostess. They must have printed the photo in the office, it was returned in a small folding card. Very cute addition.
Had a great experience eating at Scott's. Great view of West Alameda and the water. Food was excellent, I really enjoyed the sword fish and shrimp appetizers. Some one in our group had steak and they said it was good as well.
We hosted our post-wedding luncheon at Scott’s, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was perfect, and everything was organized beautifully. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous and well-balanced portions. We had a customized menu, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the entire event easy to plan. Communication was clear throughout, and the whole process went very smoothly. It’s an excellent place for a small gathering of around 20 people—highly recommended.
We had a very lovely lunch overlooking the water and our server was excellent! She asked us if it was a special occasion and we said yes! She made it extra special. This is a great place for a leisurely meal. The ambience is old school special. I enjoyed my clam chowder and the appetizers were a hit.
We came to Scott’s Seafood - Jack London Square to celebrate a birthday and had such a great experience. The food was excellent, the service was attentive and genuinely welcoming, and the waterfront views at Jack London Square made the night feel extra special. What really surprised us was how thoughtful they were for the birthday— they brought the birthday boy a birthday sorbet, a bottle of wine, and even took a group photo for us. There was also live piano, which added a really nice touch.
Went on Valentines day mid afternoon and Jordan was our server, she was great
Some of the best oysters to date. Got a dozen for the table then went light with their seafood salad, which was very nice, then went straight for 2 great deserts (Pecan Pie and Cheese Cake). Coffee was fantastic. Had a window seat with a great view of dive bombing pelicans. Fun experience. Will explore the bigger fare next time. Service was good but very ok....from the host to the waiter to the bussing service...most had a very sober demeanor which really makes you wonder what management was like.
We came here to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Old fashioned cooking. Lots of creamy sauce, hearty meats. The wine list is ok. The service was great, attentive but not intrusive. The location is great. Our parking validation did not work but there is a big safe garage next door.
Great option for a special occasion weekend seafood brunch place. Can accommodate private parties with private rooms with views of Jack London Square. Pricey for the quality and variety of seafood. Dessert options were limited and once gone was not replenished at the dessert buffet area. While the omelette and meat carving stations were manned, had to track a staff member to get a ice cream sundae to be made for you. Nice live jazz band will play your favorite songs if you ask with pleasure. Be sure to validate your parking ticket near the front door before you leave. Parking is discounted, but still pricey. #KidFriendly in terms of having high chairs. But there is NO diaper changing table in the women’s restroom!
The staff is very polite, humorous, and personable. I enjoyed talking to them and experiencing their service. The atmosphere is beautiful, and you can have a lovely view of the bay from your seating area. The food was delicious, and flavors roamed gently around your pallet, with every bite. I was not keen on the number of plates that carried mashed potatoes as a dish. I felt this is a high-end restaurant, and mashed potatoes are a filler, not worthy of the entrée price or pairing. Dessert was delicious. The banana bread pudding with ice cream and sauce, just melted perfetto! Grazie!
Old school, charming, and fun! We just had drinks at the bar, before having dinner somewhere else. But I have eaten here before. This should place just has fun vibes. I love how the bar is lit up. Our cocktails were delicious, and the wait staff is very friendly.
Way above average for lunch, dinner, cocktails or meetings. Easy parking. Great service! I do wish they had a bit more non-seafood selections and a more imaginative dessert menu. But that being said I have NEVER been disappointed here
The food is pretty great, just don't expect a flawless experience. Some small thing has gone wrong each time I've been here, all relatively minor (minus the overcooked medium well filet that was supposed to be rare...); Enough to dock a star, but the overall tastiness, live piano player, and lovely view keep it at a solid four. I tend to be more forgiving than most, so given the price point, some people may find their experience falls a smidge short of expectations.
I have visited Scott's on many occasions but never for a reception for a restaurant. This was quite a joyous occasion and I really appreciated how nicely the restaurant was decorated in the back and how it was all set up. Overall it's definitely would be a great option for hosting events in the future
I visited this restaurant and ordered the clam chowder soup for myself and the chicken tenders with fries from the kids’ menu for my 4-year-old. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any activities or entertainment for children, and the first issue was that my soup arrived much earlier than my son’s meal. He became more restless and hungrier, so I ended up walking around the restaurant with him to keep him entertained. By the time I could eat my soup, it had gone cold and thick (although it was very warm and delicious at first). When my son’s food finally arrived, there was no ketchup on the table, and it took a while to get it. In the end, my son didn’t eat his food at all, and I had to eat my soup cold. The positive side was that the server noticed what happened and kindly removed my son’s meal from the bill, which I appreciated.
I came here for a community service benefit dinner. The menu is simple , salad , grill chicken or salmon and ice cream , and coffee. I would expect higher standards if i dine in with their restaurant menu.
The service left a lot to be desired, one waitress for at least 6 tables. Brunch is supposed to come with beignets but they never came so we had to ask for them and they told us they'd already brought them out when they hadn't. When they arrived they were undercooked and doughy. The food was generally mediocre. I might be interested to try their prime rib dinner on Sunday and hope there is more staff available but I wouldn't go back for brunch again.
Honestly here is the deal. I could have given this place a 4, maybe 5. It is by a harbor, nice view and atmosphere. My go to is clam chowder and calamari when I try a new place. The clam chowder was very good~ The calamari TASTE was excellent. No dipping sauce and it had a superb taste. However, I had to chew each piece like a piece of fat. I told the waiter and he said he would tell the manager. Never heard from him again except to bring the check. No apology, no offering to bring another plate. I am willing to try again as the food tasted fantastic, but I'm going to make known what happened this first time. Hopefully I'll be able to give it a better rating.
This is the first time we go to a restaurant that has no bottled water - sparkling or flat, nothing. Just filtered water. We were shocked. Stay away from the clam chowder, both Manhattan and New England. The Manhattan clam chowder tasted like tomato vegetables soup. Watery. We were lucky to find one small clam. The New England tasted like Campbell’s canned soup. Guess how much it cost for a tiny cup? It’s $13 each! Seriously? The bread was cold and hard even it was sourdough but still ... the butter was just simple butter. The wine list was such a poor wine list which is not unacceptable when you are so close to the wine country. The restaurant needed to be remodelled. The hostess was “super dry”. Ambience - not a perfect place to take your date. On the other hand, the lobster and steak was good as well as the swordfish even though it was a little bit dry and salty. Not very impressed by the restaurant. The Scott’s in Orange County Though no longer there had better food, service and ambience.
The restaurant is beautiful, service is great and the atmosphere is welcoming. We were there on a Sunday so we enjoyed the live jazz music. I ordered their herb crusted halibut which was fresh and delicious, highly recommend. My dad ordered their sword fish which he requested to be seated instead of covered in crab and batter as originally prepared since he can to have batter nor crab. The swordfish was a huge disappointment, it was clearly a frozen piece of fish which was shocking considering this was a seafood restaurant. Our mistake was not asking if it was fresh of course but for a $45 piece of fish at a seafood restaurant, we expect freshness. Our server was lovely and gave us a free dessert, we were just sad about the swordfish. So, if you order fish, I’d ask if it’s fresh before confirming your order.
The reason for the overall 2 stars is because, they're not the same. Scotts was much better when they had the ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET. $80 and you can stuff your face with a little bit of everything from the menu. BRING BACK THE BUFFET SCOTTS (speaking for us that know)
Our first time here and extremely disappointed. Service was great. The place looks nice and festive. Loved the live piano and the view was just amazing. The food, however, was awful. The calamari came drenched in butter- not even crispy. The fish and chips that our teens ordered was not very good. Crab salad was not that great ( I was excited to try it- it should have been amazing). The only thing that seemed fresh were the veggies that came on each plate. Most of our plates were full of food when we asked for them to be cleared. Nobody asked why we didn’t eat much. Still, we had a good time there and normally, I wouldn’t even write a review but since the meal cost almost $400 for our group of 4, I felt I needed to. The food should be better for that price.
