The staff was AMAZING!! The food was really good too! Lobster ravioli was delicious and the lobster risotto was good. Our server Yesica was pleasant, happy, sweet, friendly, extremely helpful and attentive… wonderful! We will be coming back again!
We had pizza with artichoke, mushrooms and half prosciutto which they were able to do. Everything was great. The cheese was extra chewy, which I consider a good sign. The mushrooms had bite to them. Half of a large was just the right amount for me. We had a spinach salad with candied walnuts which was just the thing to start us off. Our waitress was kind.
Just enjoyed the most delicious dinner in a gorgeously lit garden setting under the stars. A nicely dressed couple celebrating their 52nd anniversary dining right next to me! A wonderful experience, great service, and the owner is a delight. Highly recommended!
Very good , clean and you can walk everywhere! I always recommend it to my friends and they continue to go to those hotels every year
Ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was legit. Solid place to order a pie for sure. Plus our server was very sweet.
Amazing food and great service. Will definitely come back.
Amazing Dinner. Definetly will go to Roberto's again. Food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Seafood chowder was one of the best.
My husband and I honeymooned in Ogunquit just over five years ago, and tonight we returned with our one- and three-year-old. Let me tell you—it absolutely lived up to our memories. Everything was divine, and the service was above and beyond. When my one-year-old daughter kicked over my full glass of wine, our incredibly kind and generous server simply said, “What? Nothing happened,” cleaned it up, and replaced it with a full glass within seconds. The owner, who is such a kind and genuine woman, seated us herself and set the tone for the entire evening. And the food… oh my goodness, the food. As two former foodies now limited in how often we can go out with little ones, this meal was a true gift. I took home the last few bites of my lobster pappardelle because I couldn’t bear to leave them behind, while my husband ate every drop of his cioppino. Together we devoured the carpaccio, and it was perfect. The kids’ linguine came with two huge meatballs in red sauce that instantly transported me back to my Italian grandmother’s kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. All I can say is thank you to the owner and staff at Roberto’s for giving us such a wonderful evening on our last night of vacation. We’ll be back.
Front porch intimate romantic meal with excellent service. Lobster Pappadelle off the hook- cooked Al dente with wide homemade noodles- creamy buttery sauce with plenty of tender lobster. Seafood Fra diavolo equally as delicious with perfectly cooked pasta in a nice spicy sauce with tender lobster, shrimp and scallops. Get the blueberry pie - warm and so sweet on the tongue with whipped cream. Add in some cold draft beer and wine and coffee. Highly recommended!
My boyfriend and I dined here on a sunday night. We got the seafood risotto and the lasagna as entrees, and caesar salad and garlic bread as apps. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was incredible. Our server Flor was attentive and so polite. Would 100% recommend
The food was fantastic! I have had many gluten free pizzas over the years and this was by far the best I’ve had. Crispy, light and delicious. My daughter and I shared a mushroom and pepperoni pizza and my husband had the regular margherita pizza. He loved it.
We had the sunset special this evening and it was a great experience for us Maria and Cece did a great job providing service to us.
Outstanding service! We sat at the bar, very quaint, nice gas fireplace & the bartender was wonderful. We had antipasto- phenomenal, chicken catchitori & seafood caprinno- both amazing! Would definitely go back! 💯
We’ve been coming to Ogunquit for 7 years, and this was our first time trying Roberto’s — now we’re wondering why we waited so long! We loved it so much we came back two nights in a row. The kids’ menu was perfect for our little ones, and the main menu had some real standouts: the mussels were absolutely huge and delicious, the chicken parm was excellent, and the swordfish was cooked perfectly. But the true star of the show? The blueberry pie — it’s an absolute must! The owner was also very gracious and fun to talk to. Setting expectations for food options is important in a beach town, but Roberto’s exceeded ours.
Went for the first time tonight. We were seated promptly. FLOR our server arrived promptly to take our order. She was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious.
Really great spot to sit outside and enjoy delicious pizza! Went with 7 people and ordered a few salads and 3 pizzas; it was more than enough food and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. This was our second time here and we are definitely looking forward to going back!
Great food, drink and right in town. We went there for our anniversary and was not disappointed. We made reservations which I recommend.
Let me talk about the food first. The pasta is homemade and the portion size is incredible - far better than anything you can order in the North End. I wound highly recommend you to order fish as it is just that fresh - being near the ocean. Now the service - every person we talked to from the host to the server was not just friendly but inviting - a true sense of hospitality. The only thing I wound say for critiques is to arrive early as it can get kind of noisy. The bolognese was incredible but it did taste different than when I was Italy - the pasta though you could taste how it was homemade Lastly, the desert - I swear it was the best Tiramisu I have had in a long while and the bread budding - it was the again incredible with portion size
We had a wonderful dining experience at Roberto's tonight. Our hostess Mikaela greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile. Our server Gus was so accommodating and friendly. The food was fantastic! We will definitely be back and will recommend Roberto's to our friends.
We had a wonderful night at Roberto’s tonight. Marco was a great waiter, personable and attentive. We arrived early and that was no problem. The dining room was spacious and quiet. But the also have outdoor seating if you want the porch. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.
I was a little nervous to come here due to the current rating, but I enjoyed my dining experience here! My parents live in the area and come here often. There’s valet parking, which is convenient as that area can get difficult to park in. Service was friendly and efficient, and the dining room we sat in had light and airy ambiance. We all enjoyed the salad appetizers and our mains- and the drink portions were generous!
I had dinner at Roberto’s last Monday with my boyfriend, and the experience was absolutely spectacular. From the very beginning, the service was excellent the staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel truly welcome. For my starter, I had a lobster bisque that was rich, creamy, and full of flavor honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. My main course was a pasta dish, perfectly cooked and clearly made with fresh ingredients. To finish off the meal, I enjoyed a key lime pie that was simply amazing the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The prices were very reasonable for the city and the quality of the food. Without a doubt, Roberto’s is a restaurant worth visiting, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
We had such an amazing experience. We had a party of 6 for my friend’s wedding party, we did not have a reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. The food was incredible, drinks were kept full and they treated us like royalty. Definitely recommend this gem!
The service was excellent! The lobster bisque was delicious. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was out of this world. Some lobster mixed with a cheese blend stuffed inside, so much lobster on top in a creamy sauce. Definitely plenty of lobster for some in every bite of my dinner. I thought the price was good and have eaten there before and will go again. Delicious and Wonderful!
We were hesitant to come, given some of the reviews we read. But we are happy we took the chance. The service was attentive throughout the dinner. Our water glasses were filled and our utensils were replaced at the appropriate times. The dishes we ordered were perfectly executed. Among the three of us, we ordered the veal saltimbocca, eggplant parmigiana, seafood scampi, lobster ravioli, and jumbo shrimp cocktail. We loved all the dishes. The shrimp was truly jumbo! The flavors in my veal saltimbocca were well balanced. The desserts were also magical: the ultimate chocolate cake contrasted well against the lemon cake. We also liked the ambience. Not noisy at all, even though the restaurant was 70% full. We highly recommend this restaurant.
We stopped in one afternoon around 4:00 for a drink. We were staying next door so it was convenient. The restaurant is beautiful outside. We sat at the bar which was peaceful and welcoming. I don’t remember our bartender’s name but she was excellent. So welcoming and friendly. I had the white sangria which was refreshing and delicious. My husband had a glass of red wine. We planned to come back for dinner another day but never made it. I recommend at least having a drink here if you are in the area.
Great restaurant in a beautiful town. We have been here twice and really have enjoyed it both times. The first time was just us two and everything was fantastic. We sat at the bar and had great drinks, a phenomenal dinner and the best mixed berry pie. The second time we came with a party of 6 and things went well but could have been better. The dining room was very nice, comfortable and well lit. Our waitress was kind and polite but because we came off season and it was a busy night, she wasn’t very attentive. She brought 5 pieces of bread and one plate of oil for 6 people. No big deal, we asked for more bread! The drinks came out after a short wait. I asked for my martini dirty but it wasn’t, but it was a good martini. We ordered apps, my seafood sampler was very tasty, very much enjoyed it. It had a clams casino, oyster Rockefeller, and crab cake. Our second set of drinks came, my martini was dirty this time. But the rum drink my family ordered was very different then the first round. The waitress said a different bartender made them, she did offer new drinks but they declined. I got the veal bone in chop for dinner and it was cooked perfectly and was a very large portion, highly recommended. My date and I split the mud pie, it was the best dessert I have had in awhile. We like Roberto’s a lot and will definitely come back. This is a great place! If you liked my review don’t forget to hit the thumbs up!!
GREAT Food and Ambience. Service was willing, but mixed, so I knocked down the rating by 1 star. Worth a 2nd try.
The pizza was good and the servive was fast. We stayed outside on the patio with the chairs and it had very nice plants and scenery. The pizza here also could have rivaled Papa Ginos thin bread with good fresh cheeze.
Good Italian food. Their Ceasar salad with the crusted parmesan on top is delicious!
Reservation was not available when we arrived and service was disorganized however food was good and we enjoyed eating on the front porch. Menu has lots of options and daily specials.
Excellent appetizers, good selection for the kids and a nice mix of seafood and Italian dishes. Attentive staff and quiet ambiance even with our big group of 12.
Robertos is long-standing nice Italian restaurant in Ogonquit. The restaurant appearance is pleasant, but the architecture is such that the volume is very loud. Our server was very pleasant and accommodating. Appetizers included beet salad, which was very enjoyable as was the house salad. The Caesar salad was good, but the portion size was deficient. Minestrone soup was very tasty as well. Our main course was seared halibut which was well prepared and very tasty. Veal saltaboca which was ordered by three people was very tasty with a delicious sauce. Veal parm was only rated as good. The only desert ordered was the flourless chocolate cake, which was exceptional with two small scoops of ice cream and really enjoyed by all. Robertos was a nicer restaurant for Italian food that is certainly worth a repeat visit and one that we frequent yearly when we are in town on vacation.
I can see how they've been in business so long. The location is beautiful albeit a little cramped in the side dining room. The attentive and friendly service never felt rushed. As the dinner crowd packed in the noise level felt more friendly than a nuisance. Every one had a blast. I was extremely satisfied with the meal as everything was way above most regional Italian-American standard fare. I'd only dock it a star because two glasses of wine and a cocktail for almost $50 is a little absurd. They'll get ya there. Otherwise it was a delightful dinner.
Tried this place even though the reviews were not great. I will say we ate at Roberto’s pizza not the main restaurant. Unfortunately you could tell the quality was just not there. The dough was so thin and clearly did not have time to rise which leads me to believe it was frozen. The service was great and the outdoor dining was cute but for a $28 14 inch pizza … do better
Fabulous meal (🩷 homemade lasagna & side salad) Great atmosphere! Server Mark was rude to us and we did not feel welcomed with outside dining. I’ve dined there several times and always had a fabulous time!
Roberto’s was a nice atmosphere for dinner with the family. The food was okay, but I am comparing it to Italian restaurants in Boston which is why the 3 star rating.
The seafood was overcooked during my visit, resulting in a texture that became tough and rubbery. While I acknowledge that the evening was likely quite busy, it appeared that the order was delayed excessively on the warming station.
Nice establishment, clean and appealing. The staff is friendly and attentive and caring. Beverages were good. My wife and I both had the garden salad 👍 with their homemade Italian dressing 👍🥰👍. My wife had the lobster risotto which she loved. I had the chicken parmigiana with linguine which, I hate to say, was the worst I've ever had. It was barely room temperature and the seemed like it had been hammered to the consistency of shoe leather. It looked appetizing but I struggle with every bite and only got half way through and gave up. The linguine was hot and palatable but the parmigiana sunk the meal and ruined the experience. My wife tried a bite and said, " How can you eat that? Send it back!" I probably would have, but we had tickets to the Ogunquit Playhouse so time would not be on our side. I really hate leaving bad reviews, but the dish was bad. However, the overall experience was good and we just might give Roberto's another try.
This was an underwhelming and mediocre experience. We wouldn’t go back—there are so many better options in town. Portions were very small for the high prices, and the food was just okay. The wedge salad was just lettuce with a few red peppers and red onions. No tomatoes or bacon. Boring. The veal saltimbocca was very small for $34! The gratin potatoes that came with it were raw in the middle and inedible. The ‘pasta trio’ (at $28) could have come from the prepared foods section of a supermarket for less than half the price. Don’t waste your time and money here. I am editing this further to respond to all of the misinformation below. No bread was served or even offered. The wedge salad had no prosciutto whatsoever. I did not have pasta with the veal—I had potatoes, which were raw and inedible. The pasta dish was large enough—it was just not very good. Maybe instead of spending so much time arguing with your customers and promoting falsehoods, you could focus on improving the experience and the food.
Food was decent but small portions, pricey but that’s to be expected. What was unexpected was walking in to find the owner/supervisor/manager (unsure of exact role) berating a member of the wait staff in view of the entire restaurant. We would have left right then if it weren’t for lack of parking elsewhere. We were waited on by the staff member who had been yelled at, and had nothing but a positive experience with their service. Hopefully our experience was an exception, rather than the norm.
Have been to dinner at Roberto’s a number of times while visiting Ogunquit. It was always good. Not this time. My wife and I both had two different chicken dishes. The chicken was not tender and appeared to have something like freezer burn marks. The bread was stale and our server never came back to ask if we wanted another cocktail. Not a good experience. Our server was very late greeting us after we were seated and was not attentive during any part of the meal. I blame the owners for not properly training servers how to properly serve guests. Sorry to say we won’t be back. There are too many other choices that are much better.
Very nice atmosphere, but I’m giving only two stars because of my inadequate dinner. I ordered the ravioli with Lobster. The ravioli was a few fairly flat pillows with little flavor, but the lobster was most disappointing, they appeared to be from baby lobster claws maybe an inch long with barely any meat whatsoever. I could barely even see them. Not at all what I expected for the price for an Ogunquit restaurant.
One of the worse restaurant experiences. We made reservations for a very special occasion while visiting Ogunquit. It was recommended by a friend . Food was very average. We waited for our meals for an hour and half . After all the wait - they didn’t even had what I ordered and I was left with no dinner . Ridiculous! Seems like stuff didn’t know what they were doing. It’s not a cheap restaurant but our table cloth was dirty and lemon in a $40 meal was served with a sticker on it . Whole experience was just awful . We went to a different restaurant(Front yard) for deserts and it was lovely . Wish we had our dinner there.
Service was horrible. Employees were ready to go home. For 300$ for a party of 6, you would think they would be more accommodating to your needs. Wedge salad was SMOTHERED in dressing. Then they had the AUDACITY to put an 19% gratuity tip. I will NEVER go to this place again. I would rather have a night of ramen noodles on the couch. Maybe hire people that care about your business rather than just getting the medicore food out. Never again as a local will I come here . Disgusting
My friend and I dined at Roberto’s last weekend, hoping for a lovely evening. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant and cost us $200. We were seated on the front porch, which was lovely. But after 15 minutes with no service, my friend went inside to remind the staff we were there. No worries, we weren’t in a hurry. A few minutes later, our waitress arrived and took our drink order. We asked for lemon drop martinis but were brought cosmos. When we tried to clarify, the waitress insisted that’s what we had ordered. There seemed to be a language barrier, but she eventually agreed to bring the correct drinks, for a total of 45 minutes until we received our drinks. We shrugged it off at first understanding it was a busy evening. Appetizers came slowly, but once our entrées arrived, I had no silverware (it had been cleared and never replaced), and our appetizer plates were still on the table. My friend had to ask for help again, we needed silverware to begin eating-The woman who brought the silverware—who also turned out to be the owner—rolled her eyes when I asked for Parmesan cheese. She sent over the maître d’, who wordlessly started spooning cheese onto my friend’s dish without asking who wanted it. I had to stop him to get some for myself. By that point, our food was cold. My chicken Piccata was poorly prepared, and my friend’s eggplant Parmesan was inedible bc it was cold. We asked for both to be boxed up. So far it wasn’t the greatest of experiences but not bad enough to write a long review, that is until the check came and we were asked if everything was good. We politely said it wasn’t and explained the obvious reasons why. We asked if something could be done about the drink error. But Instead, we were shocked to have the owner return, raising her voice and threatening to call the Ogunquit police if we didn’t pay. I’m not joking. We were stunned, as we never refused to pay—we had simply asked for consideration after a long list of issues. The owner was belligerent, defensive, and dismissive. She even told us not to tip the server if we were unhappy. Despicable behavior for an owner. She was so enraged she accused us of “complaining all night”, as if being forgotten and given the wrong drinks etc was our fault. Then when we mentioned the couple seated behind us had walked out due to the wait, she snapped, “That has NOTHING to do with you.” Wow. If it was my establishment I would *want* to know if I was losing customers. It’s clear from other reviews that this isn’t the first time this has happened. The owner has previously responded by saying guests should’ve “spoken up”- in this case we did, but she was completely unwilling to listen, and deflected by saying maybe we’re just not the restaurant for you!!! Dismissive again. She turned it on us and made it as if we complained about everything, yet neither of us are complainers. Look at my other reviews, I love to give five stars!!! Sorry ma’am you are wrong! The porch was beautiful and the drinks were well made (once corrected), but none of that made up for the rudeness of the owner or the poor service. Sadly, we won’t return and can’t recommend Roberto’s to others.
Very disappointed, eggplant parm. Was hard had to use force to cut it. Sauce had no flavor, chicken parm. Was very thin seem like it came out of a frozen tv dinner box, only good thing was the service and app.
Unfortunately, our evening at Roberto’s was the absolute worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We were unaware that a police officer had entered the kitchen and arrested an employee which left them short handed for the evening. We were a party of 10 arriving on time for our 6:00 reservation. Our server never mentioned there could be a delay serving our dinner, but instead greeted us stating they have a “rule” that we had to order any appetizers with our dinner orders. After getting us our drinks and taking dinner orders, we waited until 7:55 for our food. We were never updated with any information about the delay. Then, to top off the horrible service we all received, an 18% tip was added to our bills. One person in our party refused to pay. If the server would have had the courtesy to let us know there would be a 2 hour wait for our meal, we would have had the option of leaving. She never came back to our table once after orders were placed. No apologies, offers for free dessert or beverage or something to show us they care about their customers was attempted. There are too many options in Ogunquit to ever visit this poorly managed restaurant.
Food was not cooked correctly. Pasta was a la dente and a little too hard. Egg plant was overcooked and you needed a steak knife to cut it. The middle was mushy, I will NOT return here. Now I know why Angelina’s is ranked so high
Food was terrible, service was awful. Got our food before utensils, got served drinks before water. $200 for three very small entrees and 3 drinks. The drinks were good. Only one person at the table ate their full meal. Truly disappointed as this is our first night here on vacation.
