Nice clean room. Only queen beds available. Good sized mini fridge but no microwave in room. Housekeeping only services room every other day unless you ask. Would stay here again.
The king room is very nice, big, wood floors. Appears very clean. Bathroom is very clean. Not much around us not a busy town. This is an edit You can hear every door and person in and out of rooms and hallways. Room 117. Someone came in above us and it sounded like a herd of elephants. Very loud. Every step I think there’s not enough insulation between floors.
Beds were very comfortable. I thought the rooms were pretty big and clean. TV had some good channels. There is a fridge but no microwave. The receptionist kindly upgraded our room and was so friendly when we checked in late. She was also working the shift the next morning cleaning the rooms with a huge smile on her face. Please give her a raise! The staff is working so hard. Breakfast wasn't bad either. I'd stay here again.
I stayed here only 1 night and I did not have time to partake of the hotel's amenities. I did have breakfast and it was the usual breakfast food. I gave it 5 stars because the property seemed to me to be cared for and clean. My room was spacious for a hotel room. The bed was comfortable for me, which I realize is subjective. It was a good location for me and all of the staff I interacted with were friendly. I would stay here again.
After a week in New England leaf-peeping, spent our final night at the Best Western in York. It was conveniently located off the Interstate, but in a quiet area. The rooms were excellent and all the amenities, as well. Breakfast was particularly good. Also thought the shower was excellent. The price was great and definitely worth it.
I've stayed here a few times and I would definitely recommend it. The rooms are very clean they offer a large hot breakfast! There is an indoor pool and an elevator. Friendly staff. The location is good. It's close to the kittery outlets and York beach.
This is an older property that's currently being renovated and, so far, they're doing a great job. Our room was apparently recently redone and everything was fine. Bed was comfortable & good selection of pillows. Lobby area is impressive; complimentary breakfast was as good as you'll get at any hotel (better than most) and room rate was very reasonable. Everyone we dealt with on the staff was friendly & helpful. We missed having a microwave in the room but it was available, if needed, in the lobby area. Could use some shrubbery on the outside (probably coming soon) and I wish they had a hot tub, but those aren't big deals. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Very close to Nubble Lighthouse, in case you'd like to visit.
Room was clean, breakfast was good.
We went back again this summer. It is still excellent. I'm glad that we returned. Clean nice room, free breakfast, pleasant employees. It's close to beaches, stores and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Our stay at York, Maine Best Western over the weekend was awesome. This hotel is attractive, well maintained both inside and out. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The Staff is professional, attentive and pleasant. We were surprised to have Staff in the breakfast area asking us if we would like coffee or tea and served us...with a smile. We would definately stay there again.
So pleasantly surprised how very nice this Best Western is! It has been very well updated and modern, in a nice location although not near the water we did not mind, comfortable beds and room was quite large, good variety of exercise machines in the exercise room, very nice pool area too and young staff were always professional and cheerful. Excellent hotel overall! Nice variety in breakfast meal too.
Loved the new look and renovations and the breakfast is great. Beds are very comfy and rooms are clean. Staff is very friendly. An affordable price for only being a 5 min drive to the beaches and kittery outlets. Def will stay again!
Decent hotel. The person who checked us in was very friendly. The shower is nice and they even gave us free toothpaste because we forgot ours. The breakfast is pretty good, typical hotel breakfast items. The only downside is how far you have to walk from the elevator to get to some of the rooms, we had to walk a pretty long ways and open 3 doors to different hallways which was kind of challenging with our luggage.
Very nice and kind people. Breakfast looked great. My daughter got a bagel. Beds were comfortable. Bedroom and bathroom were clean except for the trashcans had food at the bottom under the bag and the floor was not vacuumed well. But for the price great experience. In the middle of york and kittery so plenty to do. Pool was rated a 8 from my daughter.
I want to give this place some love. I’m giving it 5 stars for excelling at its category of hotels. The facility is older but nice and clean. The rooms smell clean too. The shower was really nice. Other reviewers have complimented their breakfast. We didn’t have time to sample it but thought I’d include a photo of their “menu board.” When’s the last time you saw that at a hotel?! I did peruse the selection and it all looked nice. The hotel is close to the Interstate but it was quiet. We will definitely return!
We stopped on our way out of town. We don't usually stay at Best Westerns after staying at 2 that were questionable. It was storming and late at night, so we tried it out. Overall, the area was good and easy to get to from the interstate. The staff was friendly, rooms were nice and clean with no bad smells, which is always a plus. The breakfast was really great and surprising. The lobby was nice as well. I would definitely stay at this location again.
This hotel saved our life after we were displaced by the Hyatt in Braintree/Boston. It is located in a nice area in York, with lots of quaint shops and restaurants and even a nice outlet all. We visited during Fall so the weather and surrounding area were extra nice. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff was friendly, plenty of parking too. I loved it.
This appears to be an older establishment that has undergone a remodel. Everything was very clean, from the lobby to the room itself. We requested a room near the elevator and were accommodated without an issue. The staff were friendly and professional. The beds were comfortable and slept well. The continental breakfast was plentiful, and most importantly the coffee was really good. For the price we paid for the room, it was definitely a good choice.
Our family experienced a wonderful two-night stay at the York Best Western. The staff was very friendly, our room was very clean, the beds were comfy, and all was very quiet at night. The breakfast selection was presented well, and there were plenty of hot and cold options to please all of us. Our children also enjoyed the great pool area. We will definitely book here again when in the area.
Have not stay here in years because the motel was getting a little old and tired looking ,but I took a chance staying there after reading a few reviews on a few travel sites and I was glad that I did . The look of the building had been totally redone with a very pleasant look out side ,the lobby and breakfast area had been freshen and enlarged , and let's talk about the rooms new configuration making them very welcoming and the bathroom they put in new tubs and marble vanities . Not only was I pleased but so we're my very picky son and daughter in law .
This was our second stay in this hotel. Our king room was spacious, clean and bright. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and courteous. The complimentary breakfast was extensive and plentiful with coffee available in the lobby 24/7. It is about 3 miles from both beaches with plenty of restaurants, a grocery store and drug store close by. Also available is an indoor pool and a workout room, neither of which we used during this stay.
Kelly at the front desk was absolutely AMAZING! She was kind, courteous, efficient and went out of her way to make sure our stay was flawless. My family members can be quite trying at times, with multiple questions and requests. Kelly was so patient and responsive, we cannot say enough good things. The rooms, pool area and hallways were impeccably clean. Amazing stay, thank you, Kelly!!
Beautiful hotel! Nice and helpful staff. Clean rooms. The pool is great. Delicious breakfast. Would definitely recommend staying here. It's queit and out of the way, no crowds.
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Our room was on the ground floor and was the first room in from the back entrance, so it was very convenient getting our luggage into the room. We found the bathroom floor to be cold on our bare feet, but we laid down a couple of towels and got along fine. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. I would recommend this hotel for anyone travelling in the York, ME area.
It was a nice hotel but was lacking some of the basics. When we checked in, the receptionist told us there was no housekeeping. We could get the room tidied up upon request if we stayed over 5 dats. Also, the mattress was okay, but the pillows were horrible. I know that is a difference of opinion, but they felt like felt like they were only half filled with feathers.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Needs some updates and another nightstand. Breakfast room is small when hotel is full. Breakfast is typical, a little bit of everything. The hotel in the common area is very warm. Room had good working air conditioner though. Would stay here again.
The check-in was quick and easy. The desk clerk was very friendly and professional. The in lobby coffee was always fully stocked. Our beds were beyond comfy. Our room was clean. Breakfast was ok, it would have been better if people weren't piling up trays with food and leaving only to return minutes later to get more. Their was also too much horse play in the pool and it wasn't being monitored. But I would definitely stay there again. A great value and very close to York Beach and the Kittery outlets.
A little off the beaten path, but worth it in a pinch. The room was "clean" but you could find plenty of sticky spots and there was random non-food debris like plastic clips and stuff. Seemed like the kinda cleaning a 22 year old dude does before a girl some by. It LOOKS clean. Staff helped me every single time I needed anything. Room was well laid out. Fridge, desk and chairs, coffee maker, AC worked well. Only thing that really sucked is that I got a room next to a hallway door and so it was slammed all the time. It woke me up at least 10 times each night.
Hotel has clean amble size room and bathrooms. Just updated outside and inside lobby, also added an elevator which was very convenient. All the staff were great and the breakfast is also very good with a variety of food items. We have been to this hotel before and will definitely go back. Good value for the money.
Stay was wonderful, unfortunately breakfast was huge disappointment. Odd texture to scrambled eggs, homefries were not fully cooked, breakfast sausage was indigestion waiting to happen. Coffee and pastry was great, but before a big day at the beach or shopping, you usually want a heartier breakfast. Aside from that, everything else was great, very clean, and staff was friendly.
Great hotel for the value. Loved the pool - small but cool, clean and deep at the deep end. Breakfast was standard. Room was spacious and the fridge bigger than some others. Not fancy but clean, well maintained and great for a overnight stop during a road trip. I would stay here again.
Clean and accessible. Small fridge in room. Hot water. We didn’t use the pool or fitness room but they have them. Beds are ok comfortable, not super plush. Breakfast is fantastic. Great selection of hot and cold choices. Some protein too, not all carbs.
Although the hotel decor is a bit dated, it was perfectly adequate and clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable and I got a great night of sleep! My kids had a great time in the pool. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very nice staff clean comfortable rooms. Breakfast has a lot to be desired since covid. Recommend driving less than a mile to nectar cafe for a wonderful breakfast. It is a good trailer so I went and brought back to the room for my wife and I.
The hotel itself was fine. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Room was clean other than what looked like a dry blood stain on the sheet. I would imagine it's hard to see every little stain when laundering that many sheets. Hotel employees were very friendly. Our only gripe had nothing to do with the hotel, but just the rude people slamming doors and yelling up and down the hall after midnight.
The room was very neat when we got in! Fairly spacious, plenty of towels and soap. People at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Best Western is always a solid stay.
Rooms were older but clean. Adequate ac units for the size of the room. Pool was small and very salty but the kids loved it. We couldnt access a bathroom directly from the pool, we had to go through the lobby. Staff was very friendly. Location is has great access to all that York offers.
Just fine rooms in a location that was very convenient for that area (York/Kittery/Portland). Room size was very generous. Free breakfast was meh, coffee was good enough.
Paid for a Queen bed room.... got a full size bed...we were tired and it was too late to try and switch rooms at this point. Carpet, fixtures, and room outdated. Bathroom was OK. Lots of noise from the other rooms. Overpriced, in my opinion. Everything in the area was sold out, so it was just a place to lay your head. Don't expect an amazing experience.
Hotel is old, noisy but it was extremely clean. Bed mattress was old and mattress was sunken down in the middle between the top and bottom of the bed. The shower when we could get to work was nice.
Other than the room smelling funky and a few random hairs in the bathroom, it was okay.
After checking(staff was very nice) in went to our room and discovered a bed bug on the pillow, then another crawling on the bedspread. Called the office and we were given another room. The room was ok except for cobwebs on the ceiling corners. I think housekeeping needs to be improved. Never was contacted by the manager.
This place is wild, not necessarily in a good way. The bedroom was adequate, things were tidy enough but there were ants in my room, the hallways smelled like pee and I know it’s trivial but their one microwave doesn’t even have a rotation plate. While I’m grateful to have found a place after driving around for 2 hours, knowing that I checked in at 3am and will be out before 11am, near $200 is a lot for a single queen laid out like a studio flat with a small water closet. The staff was very kind although I wasn’t told the price up front, which sucked, but again exhausted. I don’t know hotel protocol for room rental but it does seem absurd to charge the full rate given they’re vacant rooms, let alone charge $200 for a single person room even if it was a regular rental. So while it’s adequate and the woman up front knew the trick to get the microwave working (buttons weren’t working), the smell, the ants, walking through a hall of increasingly strong pee smells and I am now laid in bed smelling maybe cigarette smoke seeped into the wood? All in all, fine in a pinch but definitely needs a deeper clean. The fact that they don’t clean nightly (only your third stay) for the cost is just way too steep. This is probably the only place I’ve ever checked every inch of the room, keep everything up off the ground and wear shoes if I’m not in the bed.
The property is old, poor cleanliness and foul smelling carpet. Unmotivated staff and the breakfast attendant removed everything just a minute after 10 am, without asking those present in the room if they still needed anything. Prices exaggerated, considering how much they offer and that the rooms are cleaned only on request.
** BUGS ** During our visit there were bugs crawling all over the floors in the lobby and breakfast area. Did not see any in our room but I would definitely look! Hotel does NOT meet BW plus standards-- this is a blue at best.
The rooms were unclean and unsanitary. I had booked two rooms for my family, including an infant, and I don’t feel that their health was safe here. First, each room had odd smells - one had a stale body odor scent while the other smelled of mold, ammonia, and incense. There was also crud baked into crevices including the lamps. Worst of all, there was a mysterious rust-colored stain on one of the mattresses. I hope it wasn’t blood! Don’t stay here. There’s Microtel down the street and a newly renovated Hampton Inn a few minutes away in Kittery. Neither of those has filth in every nook to touch or mystery-stained mattresses to sleep on.
I stayed there in august of 2022. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I called and asked if an early check in was available, the front desk was very nice and accommodated that. When I got into the room there was a stain on the comforter, the room had an odor to it, there was previous guests belongings left in the room, there was a large amount of hair between the box spring and mattress and there was a makeup brush and necklace between the other box spring and mattress. I did not notice these things until later in the evening because I initially had just put bags in and went out for the day. I spoke to the front desk manager. He offered me a new comforter and for housekeeping to re clean the next day. I asked for a discount which he offered 15% and proceeded to explain that the cleanliness of the room was my fault because I asked for an early check in which rushed housekeeping. This obviously made me angry. He continued to argue with me so I walked away. He ran down the hallway after me SCREAMING at me to get out. I was appalled. I did not end up leaving. I just kept walking and once I got to my room I did not hear from him again. I have never had ANYONE scream at me like that ever. I was mortified. Especially from management. I used to work for a best western. Best western should be ashamed and embarrassed to associate themselves with this location. Absolutely embarrassed.
Room was dirty. It was clear it was not cleaned between guests but rather just tidied. We found numerous long black hairs between the bed sheets upon arrival. Bathroom was very dirty. Hairs, dust and dried liquid was coating the base of the toilet. Behind the toilet was clearly not swept and tree was dried brown liquid splattered on the counter near the sink. It wiped off easily with a tissue. We were so disappointed as this hotel had a great rating on Hotwire. We slept on top of the comforter for fear the bed sheets were used. Great water pressure in the shower ad a decent fitness rooms. There were some positives here however we just can't get past the dirty room. Basic cleanliness is a must! The pool had a layer of slimy grime across the bottom. We were disappointed.
Room service left my door ajar and accessible to anyone who walked by. It appears everything is here but my trust and piece of mind is broken. I was gone from 7am-midnight working a wedding and this was the most stressful way to get home from a long day.
Very poor experience. The room was musty and the smell would not air out. The heat was broken so it was cold at night. The shower was not clean and the shower curtain had a orange stain on it. Really wanted our infant to experience a pool for the first time but it was cold. Not heated at it stated on the website. The breakfast looked nice but when we tried the eggs and potatoes, the seasoning was so off we couldnt eat it. We are truly disappointed as we paid over $200 for the room :(
The lady at the front desk was unconditionally rude to our family, not only using prohpanity but also not allowing us to talk to a manager or give us a number. We also paid for 2 rooms both with queen size beds and were promised those said beds but only ended up receiving a full sized bed. Overall a bad experience and would not recommend for anyone.
Very sad that this hotel has the best western name on it. We stayed there in May ,we were relaxing the room when my wife noticed a bug crawling in the bed . The only thing worse was how the management dealt with it. Please choose a different place to stay.
I accidentally booked my stay for the wrong date. Not only would they not give me a refund, they wouldn’t even let me transfer that credit to the proper date. Unbelievable
Hotels smells like someone has been smoking in there for the past 10 years, either that or pee... the room are not clean, stain on the bed sheets, we had to change room for a slightly better/cleaner room. Breakfast is "ok" if you don't stay more than a night. Staff is friendly.
Overall, this hotel was horrible! The lobby was nice. The front desk staff was pleasant, but not remarkable. The hallway to our room on the first floor smelled like pickles and our room smelled like a combination of pickles and urine. The room was incredibly damp and all the lamp shades were rusty because of the excess moisture. We had a king bed with pull-out sofa bed. There were no linens in room for the sofa bed, so we had to request those. When we pulled out the sofa bed, it was covered in crumbs and debris, so we just refolded it, covered the couch with the linens and my daughter slept on that. The AC unit was LOUD. The room was vacuous and dull, not comfortable or homey. The room was so horrible we stayed out late in town and walked York Harbor Beach until after dark and then went to see the Nubble Light in the dark - the lighthouse was lit up for a special occasion. We ended up sleeping and leaving early, that's it. I would not recommend this location to anyone. We stayed at the Dock Side Inn with ocean views for almost the same price the following two nights. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else!
Desk clerk very rude and disrespectful. Hallways and rooms smell like throw up and cat pee. Doors don’t work. Very uncomfortable beds.
I had a pre paid reservation, when I arrived I showed the employee the email of the reservation and it was acknowledged. Today I woke up after a horrible night's rest due to the mattress springs bulging into my back all night and pillows that are so flat they may as well be non existent I got charged two times for possibly the worst best western I have ever experienced. I tried to resolve the issue and the employee told me I would have to wait until tomorrow bc there's no manager present. Problem is I have to check out tomorrow and fly back to San diego and now out 800$ for a subpar hotel room edit: so it's two days later, my birthday, and flying back out west.. I have not heard a thing back from best western my account is over drafted and having to figure out how to make this trip as comfortable as possible with a negative account making my way back home. I planned this trip accordingly and this extra 350$ charge has absolutely ruined my birthday and trip home.. any company I've worked for in the past would of resolved and made good on this same day. They should consider removing best from their name. I am disappointed to say the least.. will never utilize their services again. Wish they had 0 star option.
An old lady at the front desk was extremely unprofessional to my mom, refused to give her name and managers number. what happened to customers always right? threatened to call the police INSTEAD of giving the number to her, and was saying profanity’s to her. the hotel has an odd smell, first floor like cat pee second floor like puke. there were 2 other lady’s who were working at night that were SO very helpful during our stay. broken furniture and bad beds, and the towels are horrible. definitely a waste of money to stay at in such a nice place in york.
