Service was great and food came out pretty quickly. We had this at an event that they catered and were anxious to try the full menu. We tried the Queso Fundido which was tremendous. Served with chips (right amount of thickness and crunch) and fresh tortillas. Great way to start the meal. I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, meat was cooked well and was great. It also featured a fresh cooked Jalapeño which was the spicy I like. The kiddo had a burrito which was huge and gone by the end of the meal. The wife had the empanadas which were tasty too. Elotes were good and the refried beans are extra tasty. We will be back.
I am from NYC and was visiting OKC with my daughter and she said wanted to try Birria tacos. Many of the Mexican places we looked up didn't have them and then we found RevMex so we gave it a try. We loved everything! The popcorn was addictive, the chips and salsas were flavorful, and we had the mango shrimp ceviche as an app which was delicious! My daughter LOVED the birria tacos and my el pastor and carnita tacos were soooo good! The corn tortillas were so light, fluffy and fresh, some of the best I've ever had! BUT THE STANDOUT of the entire meal was DAVID, our server. His suggestions and friendly conversation and professionalism was 10/10! I hope management knows how lucky they are to have him! When I come back to OKC next month I will definitely be back, and will have to try some margaritas next time too🙏🏻 Thanks for a great meal and experience. 🌮 🌯 🥑 🇲🇽
Having walked by on a few visits to town, I had the expectation that this was the kind of taco place where you order at a counter, can only get bottled drinks, and maybe had a salsa bar. Instead a found a more sit down restaurant experience with decent service and excellent food. I had the steak which came with fresh corn tortillas and black beans. I don’t like places that charge for chips and salsa but I lucked out that during happy hour it’s free. The spicier salsa had an odd flavor but the regular salsa when mixed with it was great. Highly recommended if you’re nearby and I’ll likely visit again for a burrito since I was struggling to choose between it and the steak.
🌮 Rev (formerly Revolución) is one of the best spots for Mexican food in a city filled with great food options! 🍺 The tacos are made to order and cooked to perfection, the menu has great variety, the drinks—including their selection of margaritas and beers—are on point, and the atmosphere is a total vibe. I had the fish tacos this time and they were fresh and flavorful, as always. The slaw was crispy and the tortilla was warm and exactly the right texture. 🍿 I’ve always experienced great service at Rev and love the unexpected twist of seasoned popcorn served at your table when you arrive. 🤤 And when you go, don’t sleep on the chips and queso.
Everything was great. The service and atmosphere is kind and attentive. Our food was delicious. Even my 5 year old could eat the queso. Order the Stoplight. I loved the red salsa my hubby loved the green. The popcorn is fun and tasty. My husband loved the spicy fried shrimp taco. My daughter got one chicken and one beef taco off the kids menu and loved it. I got the Mexican pizza. Pretty good. Burned on the edges and a gross surprise of brown crushed peas. It was edible but I will order tacos next time. We will definitely come again. Maybe warn people about the yucky peas or just omit them, it's weird. Prices were good. Going to try the margaritas flight next time without kids.
We went to REV Mex for a Monday night date night, and it didn't disappoint. For a fun and casual date night, I recommend ordering the Stoplight (red salsa, queso, and green salsa), and then getting a variety of tacos to try. We ordered the chicken tinga, cauliflower, and birria tacos. Definitely get the elotes! They were heavy on the lime with it, which is how I prefer it. They also serve complimentary spiced popcorn.
Arrived just before 6 pm on a Rainy Saturday Evening - to our delight no crowd or dinner rush. Decided to start off with Nachos Libre for an appetizer with Draft Beer and Cocktails for starters. Finished off with an Order of Baja Fish Tacos and Birria (3x) To-Go. Excellent food at a reasonable price! Staff was excellent!
Unfortunately, they do not have complimentary chips and salsa. They do offer a spiced popcorn/kettlecorn. I recommend their Birria tacos. Those three tacos are scrumptious, and there is enough for someone to take one to-go. If you don't like onions, then you can order the Birra tacos without. The wait staff were prompt and willing to answer our questions. I did notice the smell of tires when I walked into REV Mex, but that's it.
Great atmosphere! Margarita flight was amazing, gave you 3 different margs. And the carne Asada add on to the nachos was a great choice!
Great dining experience on 12/2! The service was great between the bartender and servers. As well as manager on duty who was out helping the crew. The house margarita is one of the better ones I've tried in the area. The mezcal selection is better then most restaurants as well. The popcorn that is offered complimentary was tasty. The Fiesta platter was a great sampler, was amazed by the amount of food included. The fried fish taco as well as the pork taco were both flavorful and fresh. Have recommended to friends and family and will continue to.
Great fresh food with a twist. I would call this a Texmex fusion style restaurant. The staff was very nice and attentive. The guacamole was my favorite. It was fresh and tasty. The radishes served on top gave it an extra crunch. The beef quesadilla was loaded with meet and huge. The fundido was great...a bit too much chorizo for me and I wished they had a vegetarian option with portobello mushrooms instead. Social distancing was possibly and the restaurant was very clean.
Excellent food and service. Loved the Queso Fondido Skillet and the Margarita flight for the fall was awesome. Dog friendly patio.
This place is pretty dope I had an amazing time. The drinks were great the food was awesome and it was a nice experience to have such great customer service! Kudos to the bartender I can't remember her name and Isaac he's the bartender to at the bar. The one thing I love the most about this place is they have phone Port Chargers so you can plug your phone up while you sitting at the bar.
Went here for the first time for a bachelorette party. It wasnt very busy and it was a nice atmosphere. Definately a very casual place. I ordered two tacos and they were some of the best tacos I've had. They were very tiny but two filled me up and they were only $2.50 each a la carte. Others ordered the nachos and they were huge and really good. The chips and salsa comes with a charge but its pretty good. Weird at first because the salsa is warm, but it has a good flavor. I would definately return and split the nachos or get more tacos. The server was extremely slow but he did have a large table to wait on.
Walk, run, bike, bus, or hoverboard your way to REV Mex! Absolutely ideal experience from the welcome to being recognized as a first-timer by our server, Jordan. She made sure we knew the concept and menu as well as a few reasons to come back again to get us started. I had the REV Salad with tinga chicken and it was soooo good (and also very large!) while my wife enjoyed the Hawaii 5-0 as a bowl. And, the food experience begins with a complimentary bowl of their mildly addictive house popcorn. Thanks, Jordan and REV Mex for a fantastic lunch experience.
Chicken tinga and fried fish were amazing. I LOVE popcorn and it was gorgeous. My server was pleasant and I enjoyed my table that had the sun directed on me, but not in my eyes. I felt like a happy cat basking in the sun with a full tummy of tacos and popcorn. Ps. It smelled funny (chemical maybe? Or a bad batch of popcorn?) When I walked in. But my experience was not affected.
In between very good spiced popcorn by default at the table, and delicious Fondue Carmel Rice Crispi-ish desert we were giving to try as 1st timers; we were impressed. The baked fish taco was my fav of the variety I tried (baked fish, fried fish and chicken). Atmosphere was visually awesome and had good music. I prefer eating without a big tv screen near my face but that’s personal opinion so no downvotes. Music is loud, but that is also a good privacy of conversation tool which makes its one room w/ a bar in it, open style very bearable without hearing or being concerned about being heard with regards to stranger’s conversations. Very cool Sign. Cole was a friendly attentive server. That cheese appetizer was great. It did get unmelted fairly quickly. Could use some type of thinning agent to keep it a little more liquid. If you are even close to the fence on this one, go! If you found this helpful, please “like”.
Friendly staff, delicious good, yummy margs and the popcorn oh my!
Amazing tacos, cool atmosphere with a good selection of drinks from the bar. Fast friendly service with several TV’s for watching games. Plenty of parking and a amazing food. The popcorn appetizer is incredible. If you like tacos you should check this place out.
Great place for margaritas! Had their seasonal Fall flight - all 3 were tasty & enjoyable. The bartender was fantastic & made excellent recommendations - screwed up and didn't get his name. Definitely recommend!
Amazing customer service, and super delicious food! Every person dining there for the first time gets a free Horchata Rice Krispie desert 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area!
Delicious and inviting. My order came out slightly off, but they immediately fixed it. They were lovely and the food was fantastic!
We had one the best waiters ever. Shout out to Gauge, you're awesome. Food was amazing. Highly recommend. Definitely will be back
Really good tacos and drinks. My fish taco was huge. Michael the bartender is great! I recommend the Jalepeno Margarita
Good food, great service. This is one of our go-to date night spots. Baja fish tacos or crispy cauliflower tacos are delicious. The Stoplight appetizer is a hit. They have seasonal/rotating margaritas that are always good. We have really enjoyed the servers over the years, good folks. We'll be back! FYI, the AC is strong inside (works very well) so if you're cold-natured, bring a jacket.
Love this restaurant! My boyfriend and I are obsessed with the popcorn they bring out before you order!! You can order it by the bag to go! Their corn tortillas as very fluffy and taste amazing!
Amazing little spot near downtown OKC! REV Mex is a hidden gem — great food, great service, and great prices. The atmosphere is fun and inviting, and the staff really make you feel welcome. I especially love that they serve free popcorn instead of chips — such a unique twist! Definitely a must-try if you’re in Oklahoma City.
I recommended this restaurant to a large group of my colleagues and we all had dinner here. The service is very quick and concise with your orders. They are very good with their drinks. I had the birria tacos myself and they were authentic and incredible. I want to say we had a group of 11 to 12 people and our ticket was max of $350. The atmosphere, it’s just as amazing as it’s food.
We did a girls night here and it was good. The popcorn instead of chips seems like a unique idea to standout from other Tex mex joints, however, I like just having chips and salsa offered. Which you can purchase as an extra here! Our server was pleasant. The bathrooms were okay. I ordered the Firebreather burrito (which any of them you can make into a bowl) and it was spicy but good! For a drink I ordered the margarita flight and the flavors were interesting. I opted for a classic margarita because you can’t go wrong with that. Theirs was good and had a kick to it. Parking was plentiful and I’d take my kids here if we went back.
Great experience! Food was great service gas great Rodney our bartender was great! Would have gotten a 5 but..... i was a little disappointed with the size of some the drinks looked more like tall shot glasses. Other than that the seasoning in the food was great the queso fundido was great, the salsa had great flavor. The big popper was the best. My wife really enjoyed the birria tacos could be a little more crispy but the flavor was on point.
So I'm giving 4 stars really because of the drinks we had, should be 5 but the food is why I'm only giving 4 ⭐. Food wise everything was okay. The burritos are a nice size for the price they just need to add more meat rather than all those beans. When you've tried a lot of different tacos you expect the majority of them to be bomb, yet these were okay. Birria tacos were a lot more greasy than I'm used to. Everything food base could use more seasoning or some type of spice. I feel like it could be 5 ⭐ if more flavor was added to the meat. Now, the drinks we had 👀 OMG bomb, I had the Kiwi, do you love me? and my partner had the frozen house margarita. 🔥 🔥 If you're looking for a new place to try with some great drinks go here.
Really awesome place! Great employees full of great energy. Loved the colors and layout of the restaurant. Has indoor and outdoor seating, along with a bar in the center of the room. I absolutely loved the free popcorn they give! It was sweet and spicy, so GOOD! The best burrito was 100% the spicy miso. It’s there for a limited time, so GET IT WHILE YOU CAN! So many amazing flavors! The bulgogi burrito was good & flavorful, lots of juices! The Taki-Riot was decent, could have used more takis and LESS beans, it was bland in my opinion. The sweets were a little disappointing. The rice krispies were very hard. One of the four was soft and delicious! Two were decent, and the other was a rock. Didn’t really taste like horchata. The churro bites were good, could have used more powdered sugar. Overall good experience! Will be back and try the tacos this time!
There rc party pint drink is amazing and strong. The food was good. The birria tacos were the best out of the food we ordered. The fajitas werent very seasoned. The atmosphere was fine it wasn't too loud or busy. Our waiter was very nice and attentive.
Fun place with good drinks and a somewhat lean but good food menu. The staff is generally good and know their stuff. Plenty of parking out back. Queso and other appetizers are good. The Elotes (chile-dusted corn dish) is very interesting. Tacos are good. I like El Burro. The place is usually very loud. Patio seating is quieter, but it's not a scenic part of town.
Atmosphere is relaxed. The food was delicious. All came out in a timely order. Half of my group loved the free popcorn. The flavor wasnt a hit with everyone. Its a unique taste for sure. Over all very pleasant afternoon meal. And not bad on the bank acct either. (Added bonus: they offer crayons and kids menu to color.)
Rev Mex has good food. They have good drinks. I love coming her for Taco Tuesday. Coco's Burrito Seasoned ground beef, cilantro rice, pork borracho beans, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and chipotle ranch Carne Asada Marinated skirt steak, onion, cilantro Fancy Queso
Was craving tacos and queso and drove by Rev! They were packed so I ordered it to go. They had my order ready fast. The queso was thick and creamy and chips were super crispy. The tacos were good, but didn’t pack the punch of flavor I was looking for.I
pretty good food and a fabulous vibe! the burritos are enormous!
For me, it was just okay. Very Americanized Mexican food. I ordered empanadas and they came out looking great, but the chicken inside was so bland it could have participated in January 6th. The service was very good and the place looks cool. The food just needs a little more seasoning.
I received recommendations for this place so we decided to try it out one Friday morning. The atmosphere was pretty fun and lively but the food was seriously lacking everything. I ordered the Chilaquiles, it came with lots of chips and hardly any egg. I like to try Chilaquiles when available however this is by far my least favorite place for it. They also bring popcorn instead of chips, that was different.. and not in a good way. What's worse, they don't serve coffee but don't allow outside coffee? I hadn't planned on bringing my own coffee as I assumed they sold coffee there but was annoyed to learn that they prohibit outside coffee when they don't even sell it to begin with. With that said, we didn't have a horrible experience but it wasn't memorable either.
Our first time here around noon with maybe 4 other tables occupied. The vibes were great, but our food and service left something to be desired. The rice and tacos had little flavor, and while they were decently sized and looked good, not much seasoning. My shrimp taco was supposed to be Nashville spicy and was not at all. The chicken in my husband's fajita chicken taco had no marinade or seasoning. Our service wasn't bad per say, she wasn't overly friendly either, more like bare minimum. They serve popcorn which is kind of quirky, and we ordered the usual chips and dips and they were the best part of our meal.
We ate here for brunch. We saw it driving by and decided to stop. Their patio has unbrellas for shade and is dog friendly, which was nice. The popcorn is different but in a good way. I ordered the loaded tater tots, too much meat for me, but im sure others wouldn't agree. We also ordered the breakfast burrito, and both were okay. The service was great and not too noisy being on a busy street. Just not someplace I would try again.
The food is hit or miss I feel. The free popcorn is a 10/10 amazing. The Cheese Dip a solid 2 tasted like melted velveta honestly worst cheese dip ever, my Taco the Carnita was a solid 9, while my corn dish was a 2, our order of Birria tacos was a 1 truthfully the worst I ever had. Service was excellent, restaurant looked nice. If they had better food this place would be amazing. I'd never go back to many other great places to go...but it is a good 3 out of 5 stars for me. Excellent service and clean saved me from leaving a lower score.
Cool vibes. Hipster tacos. Unfortunately rice and beans where bland and dry. Tacos where good tho. Pop corn was awkward. Paid for chips and salsa...wierd. Presentation was great tho. Food could definitely use more spices. Wait staff was pleasant.
Atmosphere and service were ok. The "Fancy Queso" is regular queso with a spoonful of pico or something similar added to it...not so fancy! The manager/owner went around asking everyone if they were enjoying their food. I thought that was great until he skipped me 3 times. I didn't even have my RBF on! The complimentary popcorn is odd. I'm at a Mexican restaurant, chips and salsa is what I think most people expect.
Pros and cons, because I went with a group and this is my conclusion overall. PROS:Very good location, Fair parking, very friendly crew, the menu is fair if you looking for a drinks, tacos VEGAN options and salads. CONS: Chicken-Friend Carne Asada dinner hasa lots! a potatoes, Horchata drink to sweet, quesadilla to plain, side small sauce on the side, for 10 bucks, can be better. MY FAV:try Cecivhe appetizer!! The best!, queso fundido, and the Pinnaple Cinnamon Margarita super good!.Also Love popcorn with Valentina, and Fajitas always good if you dont know what to order.
Great atmosphere! Ordered the Mexican pizza, didn’t love it. Tortillas were soft and I’m not sure why they gave me a pizza spatula when there are no plates? It was like meet stuffed into uncooked flour tortillas. However the taste of the food on point.
As a couple, we walked in about 6:30 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was far from full. We were seated next to a very loud table of 5 people who had been drinking for some time. The waitress was far from attentive and my order was wrong. She never corrected my order even after telling her it was wrong. She came by to see us so very little that I had to go to the bar and ask to break a $20 because the waitress never came by to pick up the tab and give us change. I ordered a burrito which was so greasy that I didn't finish it. We had been to this restaurant before and had largely positive experiences. This is probably our last trip to this place.
The food was really good. Just kept having to ask for things. Like water, napkins and the extras I ordered with my food. ** Came here to edit. So I returned and they literally avoid helping. Came back just to order to go, there was someone here at the stand when we first walked in. They sat them and never came back. Literally stood in the door, no one came back. Five minutes someone comes from the back and ask if someone has spoke to us. Nope. We give him the order and it's twenty minutes later no food. Is the place packed? No. Did we finally sit and actually asked for water. Nope. Did another couple come right in and get help. I mean they didn't even ask and was greeted with water at least. Man this place sucks and too bad the food is good. Forty minutes later left with no food.
If I could leave negative stars I would. To start though, the ambiance is cool and gastropub-ish. The drinks were good and our server I believe her name was Eddie was AMAZING. however the way management treats people is laughable and the food was less than mediocre. There was a beautiful back lady out in the cold on the patio by herself. If I had to guess I would assume she was homeless. I asked the server if she could go take her order and put it on our tab. She said absolutely! Next thing I know the lady on the patio is leaving. Panicking that she wasn't going to get her food I was about to go after her. Before I could, the manager and possibly owner comes over to inform us that he had asked the lady to leave and they are unable to serve "people like that" unsure if he was referring to the possibility that she was homeless or her race. I was flabbergasted. Either way, I am so disheartened and disgusted with the way this situation was handled. The icing on the cake was when I went into the restroom, this was the photo posted in the bathroom. Unless you support discrimination and bigotry don't eat here.
