Excellent visit for date night. Both meals were amazing, she ordered short ribs and I had the burger. I'm not normally a "order a burger at a nice restaurant" type of guy but had to try it based off other reviews. I can definitely say I'm happy with my choice. She raved about the short ribs and after sampling them, I would have been every bit as happy ordering them for myself. Will definitely be going back!
My friend rented the private room which has a garage door to the outside which allows for a lot of natural light. Minimum spend to rent this is 500. My first trip to darios was unsuccessful as they were understaffed and closed seating early. This visit made up for it with delicious food and amazing dedicated service. All the entrees we had were great. It was hard deciding which I preferred between the shrimp spaetzle, short rib and the duck ragout. Out of the desserts it was easy though. My friend had ordered one of each and the clear winner was the creme brulee. The others were 4 stars, but the creme brulee was the 5 The appetizers were all good as well, though the escargot I might have preferred with some cheese. They were swimming in garlic butter. It came with Bread service so that was nice to have something to dip with it Pro tip for the instagram lover: They have a these nice backdrops to take photos with. We did ours with this large green one which made for pretty group photos. Ask your server Parking is street parking. It was a bit difficult to find it, but there are side streets as well.
Always love visiting for brunch! Tasty beers, classic french options and a relaxed atmosphere. Loved the crepes and the croissants. They offer limited chocolate and almond. So yummy!
Dario's is one of the best restaurants in Omaha! Pictured below is their charcuterie, the seafood crepe, and mushroom risotto with scallops. Everyone one of these dishes was prepared perfectly. I also love the steak frites at Dario's. If you're a beer drinker they have an extensive selection. Go now.
This is a great little place. The food is excellent. Pay particular attention to the specials, too. The standard menu is great, but some of their specials are truly outstanding. Along with the food, the service is very good, and the beer selection is great fun. They claim to have one of the best selections of Belgian beers around, and they live up to that claim.
I went here for Valentine’s Day and it was awesome! I wanted to try the regular cheeseburger, since I am a slightly picky eater, but they had a special menu for V Day. I had the Cupid (Brasserie) burger, which had pork belly, fried leeks, pomegranate aioli, and more. I was skeptical at first because I haven’t had most of those things before, but the taste was off the chain! I also got a Belgium beer in a spherical beer glass, which was cool.
While my wife and I were finishing up the last minute planning for our wedding, my mom asked if we could have a brunch the day after the wedding. With a weeks notice and 18 people to feed, I was in a panic. Erin at Darios took all the weight off my shoulders and provided the most amazing event for my wife and my family. We gave her full license to do as she pleased and the spread was unbelievable. Now all my mom can talk about is how she cant wait to go back for brunch next time she is in Omaha. thank you for rounding out our magical weekend
Wow! Top notch quality and service! I had the banana nut French toast and my wife had "Meurette." 2 perfectly poached eggs, tiny baby mushrooms, bacon, caramelized onions, and red wine sauce. That was phenomenal.
I had brunch here recently and adored the salmon bennies. I’ve never in my life had better salmon. I’ve had a lot of salmon.
Food is delicious and the server was the most helpful I've ever had at a restaurant. He understood my friend's food allergies perfectly and was able to help her navigate the complicated situation she found herself in. Definitely worth a visit.
Great food and fantastic service!. The short rib was the best I have ever eaten. Huge selection of beers for every taste!
One of the best meals I’ve had in a while!
Everything we tried was delicious. The flavor and texture were well balanced. - The parsley garlic butter in the Dario’s Moules Platter is so good that I would take shots of it. - The Short Ribs were very tender and paired with the Pomme Pure was a perfect match. - The Duck breast had an incredible crispy skin and the breast cooked to perfection. I would like to have it with a sauce that offset a bit the gaminess of the duck, but the Au Gratin Potatoes sides helped do that. - Finally, if I were looking for value, I would definitely go with the trout. Equally delicious but IMHO, the dish with the most value. Dario's has a great variety of Belgium beers on tap. All the beers are +$10. Finally, the service was very good. Server was attentive without overdoing it. We didn't feel rushed and it was a relaxed environment.
French-Belgium style food. The menu always has something unique on it. The specials always change so you can get a try at different types of foods. I've had the cheese and charcuterie several times and have never been disappointed. The beer selection is great. They have my favorite beer which is difficult to find. I always recommend Dario's to people coming into town. My only issue (and it isn't anything bad) is as a larger guy the seating is slightly cramped. Still the food is way worth it.
So sad to see that it will soon be closing. Service was fantastic and the food was great. I would have enjoyed some additional choices without so many sauces...there was not much for the pallet that wasn't in all kinds of sauce. There were four at our table, beer options were fantastic and we all enjoyed our meals.
My wife and I were visiting from California and we wanted to have a nice french dinner. The ambience, the back ground music was just fantastic. We started with a pot of muscles, out of this world and then we ordered the pork shoulder, huge and very tender. My wife and I only had a taste of it, we felt it was a little too heavy for our taste. When the waiter, Cody, checked on us and saw that we didn't care for the pork. He tried to see if we would like to get something different but we just decided to get desert. Now mind you we did not ask for anything special or taken off But to my pleasant surprise Cody on his own decided to remove the pork from the bill even though he knew that we were only visiting from California and are probably not coming back just because we live out of state. Now that's service for you. He didn't take it off in order to entice us as return customers he took it off because it was the right thing to do without being asked to do so. That was incredible GREAT JOB !!!
Wine selection was great and very reasonable. The mussels were fantastic. I also had the burger and it was a top 10 burger. I heard the trout and the crepe was great from others I was with. Very casual and fun.
What an amazing restaurant! I had heard about Dario's and even driven past, not knowing that the most delicious burger and beer selections awaited me inside. The Dario Burger was quite possibly the greatest thing between 2 buns I have ever eaten, and their selection of Belgian beer had me feeling like I was in Brussels. I will be back soon!
“Delicious food, classic steakhouse” The place is old school! A throwback from another era. The location is kind of out of nowhere. I came here with my brother and father in law and his brother during our annual trek to the Berkshire Hathaway meeting. We were not disappointed! Food was very good, reasonably priced, and the service was good. This may be our favorite..
Dario’s is one of my favorite Omaha restaurants! They have a very solid menu of regular dishes, and always some creative, beautifully executed specials. They have amazing mussels, frites, short ribs...the list goes on. We have always had excellent service at Dario‘s as well. Friendly and warm without being overbearing. Great wine list, and very unique decor and barware. It’s the special little touches in addition to the delicious food that keeps us coming back time after time.
Wonderful evening at Dario's last night. It was like walking into an authentic brassiere in France. We felt like we were back in Paris enjoying a delicious cozy meal. Service was impeccable thanks to Laurie our waitress and bartender from Mississippi who knows how to mix a true Sazerac and French 75. We will be back!
Superb. This is the kind of place you take your mother-in-law and order escargot, and show off. The service is spot on, and the food is indescribably good. I highly recommend this place to the foodie who has a little bit more to spend on a meal, or that special occasion where money is no issue.
Top Notch Dining! Dario's is awesome! We popped in for a Saturday night dinner and were VERY impressed. My wife insists on getting food recommendations wherever we eat. Our server, Emilio was spot on! He suggested the perfect meal for her, a Croque Madame...ham, gruyere, fried egg. Delicious! I had the Cote de Boeuf, a tasty steak dripping with compound butter. Excellent! Emilio also helped me with my beer flight. Their beer list is an amazing offering of German, Belgian and similar beers...a large selection of them. I was familiar with many of them but others were new to me. I selected a couple but wanted to try some new ones as well. Emilio took the time to learn what I liked in a beer and then suggested some that would fit my taste but would also allow me to try some new, wonderful beers! Food was excellent! Beer was excellent! The beer list was FAR too large to sample all of them so we'll definitely be back to sample more. Prices are $$-$$$. But every penny is worth it! With food this good, a beer list like this and the service that Emilio gave us, you CANNOT miss getting to Dario's. You won't be disappointed!
This place is a magical little retreat from the mundane. It's a cozy, dark, quiet, and relatively small place - but none of that detracts from it. If anything, it all contributes to the incredibly welcoming ambiance and atmosphere of the place. Everything I've tried on the menu is an absolute delight. From a steaming pot of Moules Provencal and some of the best Pomme frites (Mussels and french fries) I've had, to a stellar French Onion soup, and everyhting in between. The prices are reasonable, the staff provides great service, and the food is always on point. Definitely worth checking out if you aren't already a regular.
Dario's is our anniversary tradition. You van never go wrong. They accommodate our every need from flowers in the table to special food orders. Our water glasses were never empty. The food was absolutely spot on. From the soups to entrees and dessert to follow, all was delicious, at optimal temperature and efficiently delivered. The wait staff really care to make the experience memorable. Dario's is a must when in Omaha.
Phenomenal service, tasty cocktails that are thoughtfully made, great beer and wine selection. The menu, while may seem pricey, is worth it. Had the charcuterie to start with local noms (so good) followed by steak and frites, ordered medium and it was PERFECT.
Good service, good food and a nice atmosphere. I usually dont order the chicken when I got out, but the chicken confit was exceptional. We ordered steamed mussels, escargo and a few glasses of wine as appetizers and were not disappointed. For entrees we had the aforemention chicken, bouillabaisse and steak fritte. The food tended to be a tad too salty, but my family and I tend to find most restaurant food salty. Would visit again.
Some of the best things are found in unexpected places, and this is one of them. Popped in for a birthday dinner and fell in love with the food preparation, the wine selection, the staff. The trout is delicious! Highly recommend, it's now a stop every time I pass through Omaha.
I highly recommend this place! My wife and I ate there for the first time today for brunch. We got the Belgian Toast and Nicoise and both dishes were delicious. The attention to detail for every ingredient really stood out. The atmosphere made us feel like we were sitting in one of our favorite spots in France. We’ll be going back soon...many times.
French European "medium" is our "rare"... which is fine by me, but I think folks should take that into account when ordering there absolutely out-of-this-world delicious hamburger! I never thought a hamburger could be considered fine dining. At Dario's, it certainly can be. Their soups are to die for! And their salads refreshing and delicious beyond imagination. The staff are great - no pressure in terms of freeing up tables, they are really helpful making decisions over what you'd like to eat. Not pushy. Just very helpful. I do hear people Rave about Nerf special beers, though I can't say for myself because I don't generally drink beer. I have never seen an unhappy face on any guests there. I really appreciate living just a few blocks away from such a delightful restaurant!
Dario's is the neighborhood spot you just keep coming back to. Love the ever changing seasonal specials, the fabulous selection of Belgian Ales and good, by-the-glass, house wine selection. We have had many items off the menu and have never been disappointed. A few standouts are the FRENCH fries...you will find nothing better in town. The hanger steak in prepared with a rich sauce that will make you wanting more, the mussels are hands down the best in town. Thank You Dario for a great menu, excellent preparation, and a very professional and attentive wait staff.
Beautiful place. It's casual, but the food tastes out of this world. Had my first mussels here and they were AWESOME. The burger was crazy, crazy tasty and juicy and cooked medium rare for real. :)
I enjoyed my experience a lot there. It's a great fancy restaurant the didn't break my wallet. I went here for my one year anniversary with my girlfriend and she loved it as well. I had a duck breast and she had a lamb steak. both of them were amazing and we had escargot which was surprisingly good. I would highly recommend this to anybody.
My husband and I love trying different and new restaurants in Omaha and surprisingly, had never been to Dario's until last night. WOW! I can honestly say this is in my top five restaurant experiences in my life. Our waitress, Angie, was amazing. She described the dishes flawlessly and really took her time to make us feel valued as customers. We ordered nearly all her suggestions and they did not disappoint. The pork shoulder for two was the most tender and delicious I have ever had. On top of all that, between our heirloom tomato tasting, salads, entree and desert the timing on which they served us was impeccable. I believe, based on this experience, I have found my new favorite restaurant in town!
Overall we had a nice meal. The service was very friendly. The decor was enjoyable. They do well to accommodate gluten free needs of my wife which is always a bonus. We enjoyed the meat board to start and were not disappointed. We each got a burger and apparently they brought me the wrong burger. I didn't notice and ate half of it. They offered to correct it and I said it was fine, they still offered free dessert so why not, we enjoyed some ice cream. The pricing is a little high but overall a nice time.
Went here for mother's day brunch and it was nice. I'd guess it's more Eastern French, pretty heavily influenced by German flavors. Still all really tasty. They allowed my party to use the back room on mother's day which made it really special to have the whole back room to ourselves.
We arrived at 5:30 pm which is not long after they open and still waited for 2 hours for a table outside! Although they do not take reservations we did call ahead on 2 separate ocassions to let them know we had a party of 8 and wanted to be seated outside and what time we would be arriving. Our server was great and the food was good except my steak was undercooked which I guess is better than overcooked. Lemon cake was tasty. If we were not there for a special ocassion I would not have waited that long it wasn't worth the wait.
Brunch on Sunday on the patio. For the number of tables and 3 servers service was pretty poor. One table next to me waited 25 minutes for anyone to come over. It took me a long time to get a coffee refill, and i even asked 3 diff employees. My food was good - croque madame sub potatoes lyonnaise. The coffee was abhorrent. I mean, like Folgers bad. I would expect a restaurant like Dario’s to have decent coffee for $3 a cup. Overall not great, but not sure if the service was bad because of shortage of staff or… because of this I didn’t give 3 stars.
Dario's is a cozy little spot right in the heart of Dundee with scrumptious food and a fantastic beer selection. I don't have a ton of experience with French cuisine, but I can confidently say everything I've tried is delicious. It came as a bit of a surprise to me, but their cheeseburger (specifically the Brasserie burger) is incredible, might be the best in town. As a beer fan, I love their beer menu, which primarily serves up Belgian styles. I'd go 4.5 stars if I could, the only ding is price. I appreciate that you pay for quality, but I still wince a bit when I see the check.
We sat at the bar and had Dario's Cheeseburger, which was delicious. They 'warned' us that they cook it to a true medium, which a lot of people would consider rare (meaning we generally overcook our beef). It took a little adjustment but the flavor was great, and the fries were absolutely awesome!
I ordered the hamburger and received rare burger having heard they have one of the best in town. The waitress was happy to cook another and delivered a completely new plate with new fries. The new burger was cooked medium as desired. As for the taste it was not for me. The service was very diligent.
The selection of Belgian ales is outstanding. They also have a terrific hamburger and perfectly prepared mussels. Apart from this I have found it overpriced. The food menu has nuts in many things, which would be nice if you loved them and is not so much if you don't.
I got the french onion soup and it was excellent. I also got the Hanger steak and it was tough and chewy, french fries were hot and crisp, vegetables were good. My lady got the salmon and it was good, but the rich sauce upset her stomach. The staff personel were excellent. Would not return just for the soup
The atmosphere of this place is very good. A place to slowly enjoy dinner. When we arrived we were told that the restaraunt was closing early. We arrived at 7:20pm. Our party was dining at 7:30. We were told by the host that all orders had to be in before 7:45pm. I had looked at the menu in the morning, but the menu was not the same when we arrived. Fewer options and no mussels, even though they were on both the appetizer and dinner menu earlier in the day. One of our party had the salmon and thought it was well prepared, another had hangar steak and felt it was tastefully done. I made a mistake ordering the chef burger when I wanted mussels. It was a mediocre burger, especially for a $20 price. I had a very delicious, unique beer and enjoyed that. The service was very good. I would like to give this place a 2nd go round. I was hoping for more.
The atmosphere was average with good background french music. I had really good French onion soup. However my wife had the Hanger steak that was very tough and salty. We wished there was an option to the french fries that came with it. Would try something different if we come back. Too expensive for what you get.
First let me say the food was good, but not great. $27 for a tiny piece of salmon, no bread, no soup, no salad just the fish and a few pieces of potato. Service was okay. If you are hungry or on a budget i would avoid. Had to stop at another restaurant after so i wasnt hangry the rest of the night.
great atmosphere... nice waiter. we ordered the steak & frites which took a long time, and arrived COLD to the table. luminear cocktail was overly bitter and undrinkable. must have been an off night for the chef and the bartender. unfortunately, i cannot say that i will recommend, unless you ask for your food to be delivered HOT to your table (oddly, they said the "plate" was hot... the food was not!) sorry...
This place had terrible service, took 30 mins to get our drinks. After we ordered Dario's burger and fritts, took another 30 minutes. Our fritts were burnt hard to eat, my burger had one bite of onions. When we told the mgr about our experience she said burnt fritts were up to their standards, as far as onions we should of had 1 oz. each, which we didn't. This was my 1st and only time I would go there, took nothing off our bill. We didn't even eat a 1/4 of our food each and cost us 77.00 bucks for terrible service, burnt fritts and no onions on our burgers. I will spead the word how terrible my experience was. McDonald's fries are much taster and never burt and they are not even a high class restaurant.
Well for all the good reviews I was very disappointed. Had the French onion soup which was bland. Then the short ribs and duck stroganoff. They were recommended by the waitress as being the best on the menu. Short ribs were greasy and the duck stroganoff was bland. I'd rather eat at Arby's, better tasting food and alot cheaper.
While eating there for my birthday, my guy and I were trying to celebrate. We had a couple and their son seated next to us, who had a full on policy debate about us while we were trying to eat. It was bad enough to have the three of them dissect our relationship, socioeconomic status, my choice in the special (among other things) - but to be blatantly rude about all of it was another. Once they left things escalated while a waitress (not ours) repeated every word we said to a couple in a booth that was now also interested in our conversation. Yes I could hear everything everyone said. I know I cannot control rude customers but the staff should not partake in also making us feel extremely uncomfortable. As this was a second visit, we will never be returning.
