Red Steakhouse Pinecrest has officially earned a top spot on my list of favorite dining destinations. From the moment I stepped into the sophisticated atmosphere, I knew I was in for a treat. I started with a house salad. Nothing plain about it, the candied walnuts and raspberry dressing kicked off a start to a great meal. The star of the show was the filet mignon. Cooked perfectly as I ordered, it was melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with flavor. It was, without a doubt, one of the best filets I've ever had. The sides were just as spectacular. The whipped potatoes were creamy and decadent, and the broccolini, was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Both spectacular complements to the meal! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the donut holes arrived. Warm, fluffy, and coated in a dusting of powdered sugar. They were the perfect sweet ending to an already outstanding meal. Service at Red Steakhouse Pinecrest was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided a memorable dining experience. I’d say Red Steakhouse Pinecrest is a must-visit for any steak lover!
Exceptional dining experience! Had an anniversary dinner and the extra touches and service were amazing. Thanks for a great meal!
One of the best steakhouses in Cleveland. Top notch service and consistently good steaks. Have visited multiple times and never had less then fantastic food and service. In addition, the dessert menu is outstanding as both the donuts and molten lava cake is great. For special occasions or entertaining clinets there are few places better.
Had the pleasure of dining at Red Steakhouse this past weekend in Orange, with my stepdad and sisters. We enjoyed dinner on the roof top and it was such an amazing vibe (We loved it)! Megan was our server/bartender and she was a delight as well as the food and drinks! I made up my own margarita with mango and passion fruit purée and let’s just say I’ll definitely be BACK!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. Just excellent. My son and I had NY strip steaks and they were 14oz of amazing. The Caesar salad, green beans, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes were excellent compliments. If you can go here for dinner, even if it is only once, I highly recommend that you do!
The salmon with pesto, the brocolini, and the beignette style desert with raspberry and chocolate sauce was 😋🤤
It's been awhile, but consistency is clearly the standard. Ryan was awesome, so were the stuffed peppers and the oysters. Very nice wine selection. EXCELLENT experience from the greeting at the door, to the service, to the food to the atmosphere.
If you're looking for a wonderful evening out, put RED at Pinecrest on your radar. Our server Matt was very attentive and helped create a special evening! Give the Double Cut Pork Chop a try, delicious! And to top off the night, warm homemade donuts!
Red was absolutely amazing. We went for my boyfriend's 30th and the food was amazing. Our server Chris C. Was probably the best server I've ever had at any restaurant. He was super informative and made lots of suggestions that were helpful. My boyfriend usually orders steak rare and Chris said to order it medium rare because the fat will have better rendering and we were shocked how much better the taste and flavor was. Top notch food and service. Highly recommend.
What an amazing experience my hubby and I had at RED The Steakhouse last evening for Valentine’s Day❣️ We loved the ambience of the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious! They took special care of my olive oil allergy, which was very much appreciated. Joel, our server, did an exceptional job of taking care of us! We can’t wait to come back in the near future.
This was an awesome experience. My server, Matt, was super nice and welcoming. For my meal, I had the C.A.B. filet, which was amazing. For my sides, I had the mac and cheese and the fingerling potatoes; they were both fantastic. I really, really enjoyed my meal, and I would totally come here again.
4 year wedding anniversary and my and I loved it. Food was great and service was great. Seating and atmosphere was wonderful. Half off wine Thursday for those that enjoy. Salmon was great. 2 large chicken breast with the chicken parm, great.
Haven't been here since COVID, and now they have a new location, and the food and the menu just as amazing as always. But what's always most amazing, is the service. You don't spend $296 on oneself, yes, that was just for me I had to spoil myself, and not get phenomenal service. Curtis was absolutely a gentleman and a scholar. I left out of there with their new single barrel whiskey which was used for my Manhattan. The temperature of the steak and the char were to perfection. The pasta I ordered that was supposed to be the short ribs, came with very little meat, I explained this to the manager, without fail he took it back and added more meat for me. No questions asked with a smile on their face. Thank you red's at orange.
I had a great experience at Red’s. My bartender, Victor, was amazing—fun, conversational, and made the night even better. The Old Fashioned was one of the best I’ve had—smooth, balanced, and strong. I tried the meatballs, which were packed with flavor, and the cauliflower, which had a great taste but the texture reminded me more of steamed vegetables. The wings were also a highlight—the meat was literally falling off the bone. The rooftop is beautiful with a nice view of Pinecrest—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. Plus, they have a $10 happy hour menu that offers great value for the quality. Overall, solid food, great drinks, and excellent service. Like this review if it was helpful. 👍
My daughter took me here for my Birthday! Absolutely Beautiful, Customer service was great and the food was great also, I give this restaurant a 10 I will come back again.
12/12/2025 - Early birthday dinner and as always RED never disappoints. I can eat here once a week if I could afford it. I can't so here we are. Rest assured tho, ot is worth every penny you'll pay! Thursdays are 1/2 priced bottles of wine 🍷 My steak is always seasoned and cooked to perfection. I always ask for steak sauce but never use it. It's not needed here. This was my 1st time getting garlic butter topping. It was good. Again, not needed, but wasn't mad at having it. The side items here are probably the truest, most shareable in size compared to other steakhouses like this (except for The Strip). The bread is magnificent. Everything is! The service was spectacular as always. I just love this place. 5/10/2025 - Came here for an early Mother's Day dinner. It was great. As usual I have absolutely no complaints. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I walked out. Everything was absolutely great. The food is always on 10. The service didn't disappoint either. Atmosphere was great. It was busy but not overwhelming. It didn't interfere with the timeliness of our service at all. August 2024 - We were here to celebrate my husband's promotion. Everything and everyone at Red's is amazing. It never disappoints. Our steaks were prepared and seasoned perfectly 👌🏽 The side items could easily feed 3-4 people. The bread and that parmesan/oil mix concoction is 🔥 I ate so much bread I actually didn't eat half my food. It was soft, fresh, just out of the oven, and mixed with the blend, it was heaven sent. My taste buds were in a land of pure bliss. I had a filet mignon. My husband had a ribeye. Both regular C.A.B. not the prime. They were great. Our side items were cream of corn (not on the menu), Mac-n-cheese, and truffle mashed potatoes 😋 All delicious. All are making me feel good. The cream of corn was good, but I've definitely had better. It has a breaded topping. It was a little too soupy for me, but it was still not bad. It just wasn't so good that I would feel compelled to order again. The mac-n-cheese was 5 stars 🌟 Not 1 negative thing to say. The truffle potatoes, same, 5 stars 🌟 They honestly have the best potatoes in the steakhouse game. My husband had a cocktail called strawberry mash. 🍓 We are not big on alcohol but we were celebrating, so why not! Well, it was strong! Must've been the gin because they didn't hold back. The bartender did not disappoint! Lastly, they comped us an order of fried powdered donuts with a trio of sauces (chocolate, caramel, and rasberry). We were already so stuffed we weren't sure we'd be able to squeeze out of our booth. These sent us over the edge. They were great! June 2024 - RED is quickly becoming my favorite steakhouse locally. I have never had a bad experience here. My reservations are always easy, I'm seated immediately, the service is amazing and the food is great! Our waitress was so very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and the day's specials, and customer oriented. I don't think we ever asked for anything because it appeared before we realized it was needed. She was great. They have a house made steak sauce, but you don't need it. I'm not sure what's all in their steak seasoning, but you don't need sauce at all. It's seasoned to perfection, so you'll have no problems without sauce! I had the CAB filet 8 oz and my husband had the CAB Prime Ribeye 12 oz. The green beans have a lot going on in them. I'm still not sure all they threw in the pot, but it worked! They, too, are seasoned perfectly. I can't believe I had a few scraps to take home because I wanted to eat all of them. Last but not least, the truffle mash potatoes are my favorite potatoes. None of these side items beat the steak, BUT these are very close 2nds. Oh the warm bread they bring with that parmesan olive oil mix is the bomb 💣 To finish up this review, I went to RED in Pinecrest but I'm willing to bet you buying me dinner that any RED location is going to leave you with a big corny smile along with your pants unbuttoned to make room for more food! Ok, stop drooling and make reservations. 😤
Outstanding in all categories. The food was amazing with substantial portions and full of flavor. The steak was legendary! Mac and cheese was delicious and plentiful. Salmon was scrumptious 😋. There are no obvious weaknesses. Will definitely return. 💯
I celebrated my 30th birthday here with my friends and it was amazing. This was my first time here and I would honestly recommend everyone dine here at least once in their life. The ambiance was nice and food was delicious. The sides are large enough to share. In our party of 4 we were able to share 3 sides amongst all of us and still have some left over to take home. Our server Curtis was a joy to have and he was so helpful and attentive. I would recommend this place for a special occasion or just night to splurge on dinner.
The food was delicious, now you are going to break the bank but so worth it. Chris, he was an excellent server and very informative on the menu and wines, and he brought a special decorative birthday dessert for me to share with hubby. Tonight was definitely fun and exciting. Thank you, Chris.
We had our 13 year anniversary here yesterday and the service and the food were amazing. I got the New York strip prime and my wife got the 8oz Filet. Sides were Mac & cheese and scalloped potatoes. All delicious, we’ll be back.
This isn’t my first time at RED, and obviously won’t be the last. I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed it yet. Well, here we go!! The food was phenomenal. We started with the tots and the shrimp scampi (not pictured). My mom and I both ordered the Prime CAB New York strip. The meat was cooked to perfection. I asked for medium and got a medium. The marbling in the steak was on point. The taste is delicious. Our server was very attentive, and she brought us these fried donuts when she found out it was my mom’s birthday. Thank you RED for another wonderful experience.
We've been to places like Ruth Chris and Hyde Park, and i will say that Red has by far had the best steak. I will even say best food in general when it comes to dining. We went here for our 2nd anniversary, and I honestly have zero complaints. To start, I got the rum punch! If you are a fruity drink kind of person, this is for you. I tasted mostly grapefruit, which I like. The bread came out next, which was hot and fresh from the oven and a garlic breadcrumb oil based side to dip it in. This was a fantastic start as we waited for our food! Appetizer, we got the crab cakes! I was skeptical about a tomato base sauce, but it was more sweet with a light tang. Putting the arugula, pickled pepper, and sauce on top and eating it all together with the crab cake was just divine. It's really a good pairing. Main dish, I wanted the filet mignon, but the gnocchi also tickled my fancy, so yes, I ordered TWO entrees for myself. The steak was 100% the best steak I've ever had from any restaurant. I got it medium while him rare, and they were both cooked to perfection with a melt in your mouth consistency. We ordered no sauce because our 1st time at a new place we want JUST the steak flavor, and I'm glad we did it like that. Although, the sauces looked tempting. Gnocchi: I will DREAM about this. The duck was tender and the sauce had a buttery lemon pesto taste. I melted in my seat when eating this. I've had duck once before, and it tasted gamey which turned me off, but this dish made me a fan of duck again. The dish was just prepared so well. We were going to order dessert, but they came out with an anniversary dessert of 4 beignets with caramel, raspberry, and chocolate dipping sauces. The beignets were so warm and pillow soft inside with that slight crunch on the outside. It's just....so delicious. From start to finish, I was impressed. Went on a Saturday summer night at 7pm. Parking in pinecrest is horrible, but they do have a valet. It was nice enough for us to park and walk 10 minutes though. Reserve online for an easy process getting seated! They do have rooftop dining outside or on the ground outside as well. 1 drink, 1 appetizer, 2 8oz filet, 1 gnocchi entree, 1 side truffle whipped potatoes cost us $222 without tip! WORTH EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR! Will go back!
Took hubby there for his birthday. Food was excellent. To my surprise had beignets which I typically only buy in New Orleans, they were delicious. I will revisit
My husband and I had a fantastic experience at Red tonight! My husband started with the mussels and enjoyed them, and I had the steak tartare, which was amazing. For entrees, my husband got a NY Strip and I had the ribeye, and we share roasted mushrooms and galette. Everything was incredible! For dessert, we had the tres leches cake and s’mores pot de crème, both of which were delicious. Everything, and I mean every single thing, we ate was out of this world. Our server, Mark, was warm and welcoming. He answered all of our questions and was very patient. We will definitely be coming back in the future!
Lovely restaurant with such excellent service! The lobster was delicious, the appetizers, including the calamari and charcuterie were extraordinary. The steaks were large and exceptional. The desserts were wonderful as well!
Loved the atmosphere, the food was SPECTACULAR! We had the cocktail shrimp and calamari for appetizers. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and the mushrooms and poutine roasted potatoes were delicious! Maybe a little too much rosemary in the potatoes, but that's to taste.
Shout out to the bartender, Purple Rain(drink) was so good. I love the shareable sides. The waiter was awesome and knowledgeable and helped us make decisions.
I’ve dined at nearly every high-end restaurant in Cleveland, and Red Steakhouse in Pinecrest Plaza is truly one of the best! The elegance of this restaurant is unmatched, with a modern and beautiful design that creates an inviting atmosphere. The cleanliness is impeccable, adding to the overall refined experience. The service is exceptional—some of the best I’ve experienced in a long time. Our waiter was outstanding, and the professionalism of the entire staff, including their dress code, was remarkable. This is exactly how a high-end restaurant should operate, setting a standard that many others fail to achieve. Now onto the food—absolutely phenomenal! From the appetizers to the entrees, everything was perfect. The steaks and lamb were cooked to perfection, flavorful, and truly unforgettable. Compliments to the chef—10 stars for the incredible dishes! I highly recommend Red Steakhouse to anyone who values top-notch service and exceptional food. This is, without a doubt, one of the finest quality restaurants in Cleveland. I’ll definitely be back!
This is my first time ever dining at Red’s steakhouse, and I must say it was a very positive experience everything I tasted it had the uumm yummy factor. I wasn’t really interested in the bread, but I was curious about the saucer that we were supposed to dip the bread in and once I tried it, it was so delicious. I ended up eating two pieces of bread when I thought I didn’t want one. The crab cakes were delicious and my steak was amazing, seasoned and cooked to perfection, it was pricey But it was very nice and did not disappoint in any way so I look forward to returning on my next special occasion because it’s worth it in every way
My husband and I dined at this establishment, traveling 90 miles to do so. The journey proved worthwhile. We had a 5 PM reservation and were seated promptly. Our server, Jose, introduced himself and provided water, informing us that bread would be served shortly. Indeed, the bread and olive oil were exceptional. We commenced with crab cakes, which were delicious, albeit somewhat small. The entrees, however, were generously portioned. I selected the prime rib eye with pepper sauce, while my husband chose the braised short ribs with tagliatelle. Both dishes were outstanding. The steak was the best I have ever tasted. Jose's service was also commendable; he attended to our needs efficiently and unobtrusively. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
The food was fantastic for our company party of 40 people. Service was slow tho. Reservation for 7:00 had Appetizers set out when we got there. Meals came out at 9:00. Will try again with 2 to 4 people. Very friendly staff
We had a group of 17 for a friend’s birthday dinner at Red Steakhouse, and everything was incredible! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect for a celebration, and our server Curtis was absolutely amazing. He handled our large group effortlessly—attentive, friendly, and on top of everything the entire night. Everyone left happy and impressed. Highly recommend for any special occasion or night out.
We was a party of 7 we were there to celebrate my son 24 birthday. Everything was very nice food, service, but the manager had an issue with us taking pictures with flash so we went outside to take pictures while we wait for our meals. He made a comment 5 more minutes like we was working for him.
Service here was very laid back but quick and efficient. We ordered the charcuterie board and mussels to start. Those were delicious although the charcuterie board could use better crackers. Next came the main course. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were flavorful, as were the brusselsprouts. I was very underwhelmed with the amount of crab meat included in my $65 entree especially since you had to pay for sides separately. Overall it was a good dinner. We left full and happy and that’s what matters on your anniversary, right?
It was decent. We had fun the steak and sides (which were potatoes and corn) were very good the sides were my favorite. The shrimp was ok not like the absolute best for the price we paid I want my food worth it. The food was good but honestly way over priced for something you can get at another restaurant. Service was good we also got shots and they weren't strong they were kinda watered down. I’ll go back if I have extra money and I don’t care where it goes to
I visited Red's Steakhouse a couple of months ago, and my experience was underwhelming. I found the food to be overpriced for what was offered. While it wasn’t terrible, it didn’t leave a lasting impression. I would definitely choose other Steak House for a superior dining experience.
Everything was top notch. My experience was amazing. Excellent customer service, excellent food quality and presentation, and the atmosphere was delightful. The decor is simple, but comfortably elegant.
Great atmosphere. Good place to dine in or sit at patio or group gatherings. Delicious food and wonderful service. Nice steak and vegetables. Must try their donuts which is more like beignets with dipping sauces. Must eat them while they’re still warm!
Solid steak house experience, professional service level and nice ambiance. Drinks menu is interesting. I had the cucumber cocktail - good but a bit strong! We ordered a fillet and the chicken and a twice baked potato and salads. Everything was delicious. At the end we were surprised with 4 homemade pastries and sauces - a nice touch for a special birthday dinner.
Our food tasted great! I had the braised short rib pasta dish and was delicious. Services was pretty slow but the restaurant was pretty big too (maybe they were short staffed?). However, we booked a reservation at the wrong location, and the hostess was so kind to find an open table for us. The manager was also very helpful when we tried to find a gift card someone sent to us on our phone. Overall a great experience!
The service was top notch, and the calamari appetizer was fantastic. The steak was OK. Not worth the 64 dollars.
I got a filet mignon on Thursday and it was delicious. The food was amazing. The place is kind of cold and I ordered an aperol spritz and the bartender thought orange juice goes in an aperol spritz orange juice does not go into an aperol spritz FYI.
So this review is not going to give you a great breakdown of the possibilities of the restaurant as we came here solely for dessert (we did have one appetizer, their special bruschetta with artichokes - it was really good). As far as the desserts - really disappointing. We tried 3 desserts: 1 - Black Tea Honey Cake - it was ok; 2 - Opera Torte, was also ok; and 3 - Pear Tart - really disappointing, the taste of star anise was so overpowering, we had to send it back. Kuddos to our server for taking it off the bill. Speaking of service, really good and timely. Red might be great for steaks and I can't comment on that but definitely will not be back for desserts
I don’t want to go into many details but my server was great. And here is a pic of my medium well steak that I should have sent back and got a refund for. I had already sent it back because it came out very medium and the manager agreed but for it to come back looking like this for $70….. can’t say I was too pleased, especially with a $1300 bill 🥺 Oh and the scallops were ABSOLUTELY amazing!
Prices are very high for average food. The pasta and meatballs were not good. I've had better frozen pasta. My husband did enjoy the calamari appetizer. Will not go back. Meal was not worth $200+ for 2 people.
I love RED. Their food is fantastic. Their steaks are amazing. The service is wonderful. AT DINNER. We went for lunch today and were shocked by how small the portions were. I ordered a tomato and mozzarella salad for $14. It was 3 slices of half a tomato and 2 slices of fresh mozzarella. For $14. Not even a whole tomato. No greens. $14. The rolls were also approximately 1/4 size as normal. The steak was great as always (even if slightly overdone). I just couldn't believe they kept the same pricing for the salad at lunch and make it approximately 4X as small as the dinner portion. I thought I was being punked.
We were severely disappointed in our experience with Reds. My husband ordered the filet surf n turf and it was like rubber and tasted like it was old and his steak was over seasoned. I called to let the manager know and he basically said sorry about your luck but we don’t care. We spent nearly $300 and had some really bad food and will never go back.
Unfortunately, we have the worst dinner at Red. The steak was not a prime cut and was not prepared well. The green bean side dish was undercooked and frankly bad. We were very disappointed and feel the restaurant has gone downhill.
Every year right before Christmas, our group has a tradition of dining at Red for a special night out. Historically, we’ve had great experiences—good food, good service, and a festive atmosphere—and we typically spend close to $1,000 per visit depending on wine. Unfortunately, this year’s experience was very different. We were seated at a high-top table in the bar area on Saturday night between 5:30–7:30 PM, right next to the bar. The area was already loud with people talking and football playing on the TVs. We noticed there was little to no Christmas music being played, which felt unusual for the season. At a very low volume—barely audible beyond our table—we briefly played Christmas music from a phone. Within about five minutes, a man approached our table and abruptly told us to turn the music down because he didn’t like it. His approach was abrasive and rude. He did not introduce himself, nor did he explain his role. Only after the interaction escalated did I ask if he worked there, at which point he said he was the General Manager. That alone was a poor start to the interaction. To avoid escalating the situation, we immediately turned the music off. After taking a few minutes to process what had just happened, I went to the hostess stand and asked to speak with the General Manager, Eric, to better understand the situation. During that conversation, Eric stated that no guests had complained and that he personally did not like the music. He also mentioned that the owner is Jewish, which he offered as the explanation for why there was little Christmas music being played. That comment was concerning and unnecessary. Bringing religion into a guest interaction in this context felt inappropriate. In today’s environment, it’s difficult to imagine how a comment framed around religion would ever be acceptable in a customer service conversation. Throughout the discussion, Eric showed zero accountability for how he initially approached our table and continued to argue rather than listen or de-escalate. This was not a policy issue—it was a leadership and professionalism issue. As regular patrons who visit a couple of times per year and spend meaningful money at this restaurant, we will not return to this location as long as Eric is the General Manager. A General Manager can make or break a guest experience, and in this case, he directly cost the restaurant repeat business and revenue. Attention to ownership: I strongly recommend reviewing this incident. The interaction should be visible on camera—we were seated at the bar-adjacent high-top table during the time noted above. This was a completely avoidable situation that resulted in lost customers. To be fair, there were positives. Our server was excellent, and the Assistant General Manager who later checked on us was professional, respectful, and handled himself well. Bottom line: This entire situation could have been avoided with a simple, respectful introduction and a polite request. Instead, it was handled in a cocky and unprofessional manner. I hope ownership takes this feedback seriously, as leadership behavior directly impacts customer loyalty and revenue.
I took my wife and daughter to Red in Pinecrest for my wife’s birthday, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. Despite noting the birthday in the reservation, reminding the host, and the server acknowledging it, the service quickly fell apart. When I asked for help with the wine list, the manager approached saying, “I am in the middle of something right now and I can help you if this isn’t too long.” Not exactly the tone you expect at a high-end steakhouse viewing bottles over a $100 each. The hamachi crudo tasted far from fresh and lacked any balance or acidity. Our entrées—two medium-rare filets, chicken parm, and sides—took far too long to arrive, to the point that staff repeatedly reassured us the food was “coming out shortly,” even though we hadn’t asked. When the steaks finally arrived, both were medium-well instead of medium-rare. They had to be remade, leaving the sides cold. The corrected steaks were the right temperature but lacked Red’s signature sear, seasoning, and care. By the time they arrived, my daughter was already done eating. Dessert was another letdown. We ordered the bread pudding, which was gummy and tasteless, to accompany Red’s typical complimentary birthday donuts, but they never appeared. When I asked, both the server and manager confirmed they still offer them. The server even claimed he “didn’t know it was her…” until I reminded him he had wished her a happy birthday at the start of the meal. We’ve celebrated birthdays and special events at Red for years, but after this experience, we’ll be choosing other restaurants moving forward. Very disappointed.
