Dad’s Kitchen never misses. The Hot Blonde grilled chicken sandwich was absolutely incredible juicy, perfectly grilled, and packed with bold flavor with just the right kick. Every bite was satisfying and balanced, not overpowering. Great food, fun atmosphere, and consistently solid service. If you haven’t tried this sandwich yet, it’s a must. We’ll definitely be back!
5 stars because I really like their food...normally. This time I had the HOT BLONDE chicken sandwich. I found it be be pretty dry and tasteless...could have used at least salt and pepper. The bread was very thin and unable to hold the chicken and produce long enough to take a bite. It came with just a small amount of avocado, and I was thankful for that because there was no mayo or other condiments to relieve the dryness. Since I had a side salad, I used the remainder of my salad dressing to "liven" things up a bit. My husband had the Cowboy burger and loved it. Wishing I'd ordered it or the French Dip instead!
I highly recommend Dad’s kitchen to everyone I know and anyone looking for a great recommendation of where to visit and eat in the Sacramento/Fair Oaks area. Besides the friendly staff and great food, Dad’s kitchen provides a great ambiance for a meal and fun time with family and friends or for an event. 10/10 recommend Dad’s kitchen for a casual stop in to watch a sports game or gather with your people for a meal. You’ll probably end up hanging out longer than expected thanks to Suhky, the owner, and her amazing staff.
Best Brussel sprouts! It was our first time grabbing dinner and the burgers did not disappoint. We'll have to sit on the patio next time as it was so lively and fun sounding out there.
I’m typically not a fan of Chicken Caesar Wraps, but this place cracked the code for me! The grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, Caesar dressing, croutons, and tortilla with those cheese flakes on it, exceptional. The service was great and the atmosphere has good vibes. I’ll be back soon for that Chicken Caesar Wrap.
Walking into Dads Fair Oaks feels like stepping into a real-life episode of Cheers—I just haven’t spotted their “Norm” yet. Maybe he’s on vacation… maybe it’s me? Every person here feels like a friend you just haven’t met, and the owners are constantly cooking up quirky, fun events that keep things fresh. The service? Always on point. The vibe? Immaculate. Honestly, it’s impossible not to love this place. Go once and you’ll be a regular before you know it.
Ordered the Hot Blonde Grilled chicken sandwich & the cowboy burger. The grilled chicken sandwich is an elevated BLT. The only way to describe this sandwich is perfection! Juicy not dry and ton of flavor! The cowboy burger was the same cooked exactly right. The fries are life changing! Unlike any other French fries at an American restaurant they had a crunch with bursting flavor. The staff were on top of it and the customer service was phenomenal!
The food, the chill relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff are all amazing! Best burgers in town! Great specials and huge selection of rotating cold beers. 5 stars
We had a family dinner on Saturday evening (the evening before Father’s Day) and everyone enjoyed Dad’s. Burgers, pastrami hotdog from the specials menu, deep fried pickles, brussel sprouts with bacon, beer, mixed drinks, sodas — we had a little bit of everything! Great server, service. A grand time was had by all.
We love going to Dad’s Kitchen with our family, have had several Mom Birthday Brunches there, but our latest venture required extreme flexibility from Dad’s and they delivered in spades! We had a Class of 2025 pre-cruise dinner there on Thursday night. We did not have an exact number of patrons, nor a pre-set menu, and we all had separate checks. A tall order, but they treated us like family, as they always do, and gave exceptional service to our large (50ish on the patio) group. Our server, Ryan, was outstanding. Perfect place to celebrate your larger group event!
This place is awesome all around ! The service is top tier ! The owner , Sukhy bartends 5 days a week and she’s a total vibe. I got Dad’s Burger and the Buffalo wings ! Both were excellent. This place feels like home, and all of the customers are just as welcoming as the staff. The food and drinks were so good at dinner that I woke up the next morning and tried their brunch too! Dad’s Breakfast sandwich is a MUST! I’ll definitely be back
Before i say anything else, order the cheese curds. The friendly staff was on point and a shout out to our waitress Courtney who seamlessly moved from table to table taking orders and actually taking the time to interact with patrons. We ordered the fish & chips (delicious tarter btw) and the meat loaf with mash potatoes and Brussels sprouts( i think we would opt for a side green salad or steamed veggies next time just because everything was so flavorful) We are excited to come try their brunch!
Dads Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the Sacramento area. They have amazing food, friendly staff members, and a great atmosphere. My favorite dish here is Dads Burger. It is seriously the best burger I have ever had! I recommend trying the onion rings to. They are big and taste amazing! They have a good selection of beers on tap as well. Justin and Noah were my bartenders my last night and they were both excellent. I definitely make it a point to come here every time I am in Sacramento. You will not be disappointed.
Overall it was pretty good...it's the best Fish & Chips I've had in the Sacramento area. The fillets are actual real fish fillets, and the batter is thin. So you actually get more fish than batter. The batter could use a little more flavor...but overall it was very good.
Friendly servers. We were a large group 10. Food took time but we were a large group. I had the Hot Blonde, would definitely recommend. Food came out hot and all together. Parking was in front and side of building. I am glad this location is still open, this was my first time at this location.
Our first visit was luke warm at best. Kenna was a great server, super friendly and informative. The chicken fried steak was over cooked and chewy the over medium/hard eggs were supposed to be over easy and the toast was a crouton with cold butter on it. Kenna was able to get me new toast. The tots & the gravy were excellent though. The breakfast poutine was just tots and gravy with shredded cheese my wife thought it was alright. My daughter enjoyed her burger. The bottomless mimosas were tasty and there was a decent selection. The food was not great this visit. Better luck next time
Waited almost 30 minutes on the patio area for them to take our order. Then when it came out for our large party there were multiple mistakes. The guy bringing the food just shrugged and said that what was on the ticket. There was a lot of confusion with the order and cross contamination (gluten allergies) some of the orders. Then at the end they didn't split the check like we'd originally asked. The whole ordeal was 2 hours and yeah... I like the atmosphere, people seemed friendly, food was OK, but yeah long waits and multiple mistakes left a bad taste in our mouth. Maybe they were just understaffed today or just having a bad day, but this was the first time and probably last time we'll be visiting here. On a positive note, my wife with a gluten allergy didn't get sick so they did a good job not contaminating her food.
They’re in a death spiral if they don’t hire a chef. French dip was literally steak-um and they forgot the buffalo sauce on the buffalo chix sammy. Decent fries!
We went on a Sunday morning, it was pretty empty. Our server took about 5 min to come over and ask us what we wanted to drink. We ordered a Coors light and a bloody beer with Modelo. Was told the Modelo blew and it would be a long time. So we said just do the bloody beer with Coors light. He brought back just a Coors light. I said it was okay just bring a cup of tomato juice. I was brought the smallest cup. Both beers were warm. We got our food chicken fried steak and the potatoes were cold. The portions are very small and the meat tasted frozen and they still tried to charge me 10$ for a michelda. They did comp both beers once we complained. Won't be back ..we were bummed thought it would be pretty good.
Oh no, I'm not exactly sure what went wrong, but we ended up waiting on the patio for a good 20 minutes before my friend had to go get her own menu. It took another 25 minutes just to receive two salads, and to top it off, they forgot the french fries. The service was poor and the food left much to be desired.
