I come here for the village veggie. The food and the people that work here are fantastic and personable. Also, might be the best veggie wrap I've ate in a while, not to mention the oatmeal cookies and the chai tea w/ horchyatta whao game changer. You may get the opportunity to meet one or more Gallus Domesticus, aka chickens/roosters, at no additional charge! My younger offspring introduced me to this location, and I am so glad! Public restroom available, gender neutral (love that); humans using mobility assistance devices can access services in order area easily. I am not clear on whether or not the restroom facilities are easily accessible to folks using mobility devices, (I only used one and there are two available), so if this is you, maybe call ahead just in case. Also, parking is limited and clearly assigned to each business. Additional parking can be found across the street or nearby with a little effort.

This is one of our favorite places in the area. Years ago we found the little park across the street and had a picnic with fast food we bought elsewhere. Since discovering this place, it's the only place we frequent. The wild fancy roosters strolling about and crowing give it a special touch and the food and service are absolutely top notch.

Second time to the Cafe. The food was good once again. I was caught a little off guard when I asked for an empty cup and the person behind the counter asked me why I wanted the cup. When I told him that it was for the drink that I order he asked me if I needed it for my soda. When I told him it was for the prosecco that my wife had ordered, he handed me the cup. He may be trying to limit the use of plastic.... but still a little odd in my opinion. Overall, a good experience.

Honestly, I've been here plenty of times and the service is always good and so is the food. Both the staff and the customers have always been nice and the place is very welcoming. They change up the theme of the place to match the season so the inside is always different, and the pasties inside the case change as well bringing you something new to try.

Ari, the person who took our order, is one of those people whose personality, graciousness, and kindness just lights up the room. We ordered two BLT's and they were just perfect iterations of this time-honored treat... My wife, who is very particular about her mochas, pronounced her mocha here as, "the best I have had in years"...and that's saying something (grin) as we are well into our 70's. The pastries, (we got a brownie, a peach croissant, and a cinnamon roll) were fresh, delicious, and among the best we have tasted... If you visit this delightful place, be prepared to be very happy for your choice!

They have the best cookies in the sacramento area. I am obsessed with their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. It is pure perfection. I have never had a better cookie. Small coffee house with food that's cooked. Decent prices, good food, with good portions. They seemed a bit understaffed the day we went there, and it took longer than expected for us to get our food, but we were happy with the results. I would certainly go there again.

The cafe uses Java City coffee which was my favorite local coffee chain before they were killed off by the likes of sbux and Peet's. Secondly, their sandwiches are pretty good, the service is usually prompt and is always courteous. The ambiance of the dining area is mellow, local art on the walls, but the outdoor eating area is why I chose this place, the local chickens of old Fair Oaks. They run the lil town. And they know to hover around because people toss scraps. You shouldn't, and please don't, but the chicken have come to expect it so they're always around. And they're majestic too. Not those Foster farms puppet looking bland chickens, heirloom chickens with plumage and vibrant colors. Oh yeah, the cafe... Umm, eat here when you're around.

I really like this place. Like someone started earlier, friendly staff here. Coffee is good. I had a lovely lunch here the other day. I haven't eaten breakfast here but from what I see on other people's plates now, the eggs look perfectly scrambled, bacon looks crisp. A lot of variety in muffins. People here are enjoying a leisurely time. It is nice and relaxing with soothing music. I recommend trying it out. And you get to see this lovely community.

Dope little coffe/deli/market in old town fair oaks. The oldschool feel of this place is really cool. With its false front and murals even down to the oldschool Thunderbird parked out front. Has a good selection of sandwich options and the coffee is terrific. Pop in if you get a chance.

Nice little place to stop in old fair oaks. Coffee, muffins, breakfast burritos and paninis. Service was very friendly. Exactly what I'm looking for. I just had breakfast. I'll have to come back and try lunch.

The turkey panini sandwich was spectacular! However, $15 for a sandwich is a bit extravagant. And it’s just a sandwich, no sides, no add on’s. And no drink. So you decide, is it worth it?????

I recently moved to Fair Oaks in November 2024, and in the past few months, I’ve visited this deli three times—and I’ve really enjoyed each experience. While I personally wish there was a bit more variety in the sandwich options, that’s just a personal preference. The sandwiches they do offer are solid and have never disappointed. So far, I’ve only tried the sandwiches, not the baked goods, but everything in the display case looks absolutely mouthwatering. It’s clear they take pride in what they make. What I appreciate most is how much this place feels like a true part of the Fair Oaks community. There’s a real sense of local love and support here, and it’s easy to see why—it’s a place people genuinely value. Looking forward to many more visits!

This place is really cute but it's often very crowded. I sat inside and outside before. The staff is friendly. They're very busy. The coffee's great good price point and the food is pretty good and they have a lot of options.

I go to this deli on a regular basis and it is usually very good but today the breakfast burrito was not good. The potatoes were frozen hash browns, the sausage was under cooked, the onions non existent. The oatmeal cookies were very grainy and way to sweet, the pecan bar was hard. Like I said very unusual for this place

I have driven by this coffee shop for years and never stopped inside. The on beyonce's awesome this place is obviously a stable of Fairoaks. Their sandwiches looked amazing and the service seemed very friendly and efficient. That being said for coffee house we ordered 3 coffee's kappa chinos and I should have been warned when they gave them to me in huge to go cups. The coffee tasted burnt there was too much foam and everyone in our party was very displeased.This coffee shop does supply plenty of nice places to in Drake drinking bag coffee though and I will return in the hopes that my coffee was a fluke

I usually come for their sandwiches. I tried their cobb salad and it was serves with shredded taco lettuce. Kind of strange since they don't serve tacos. So if you are looking for a green, leafy salad, I don't suggest getting one from them. However, they do offer a good BLT and drinks (that I have had in the past). Counter service is friendly and the food comes out in a timely manner.

Right in the heart of old fair oaks.. Been coming here for a long time and have always loved it, but not so much today. Coffee and baked goods were good as always. However I wanted to get stuff done and they had distracting elevator playing.. Why? no one comes here for music. They all also have no problem with dogs.. Not service dogs, being in the cafe. I usually wouldn't have a problem with this, but there was a couple with a lab that kept jumping on the table.. Lastly one of the staff was wearing a half shirt. By this time I was not happy and this was kind of like the last straw. Staff should at least wear shirts that cover their bellies.

I used to adore this place though I rarely come due to my insanely busy schedule. However they seems to have a habit of forgetting what you order. I’d have gave this place a five stars. But after having my drink forgot for second time in row, I don’t think I want to come back again.

The person who took our order was super friendly, however they messed up our order twice and the lady (long straight black hair thick red glasses) acted annoyed when I told her and was not patient at all with my Deaf parents. Food was ok, but I won’t be back thanks to her attitude.

Great coffee and food but do not go there if you have limited time. Went in for lunch, ordered a super basic bagel sandwich, after waiting 20min I asked about it, they hadn't started making it. It wasn't really busy either. I had to get back to work so I left without it. This isn't the 1st time I've had an issue with the casual pace they do things. I'll still go there, just not when I have somewhere to be.

A place with so much potential.... Very cool location and a neat little spot to get some coffee and food. I had an Americano and my wife had a caramel macchiato. We also had some baked goods and a bagel. Everything was tasty with the exception of my wife's coffee, which she didn't really like. Where this place fell short however, was in their customer service. The lady behind the counter wasn't very friendly and seemed upset about taking our order. It was almost as if we weren't welcome because we weren't regulars Really threw off the whole cool vibe the place had when we walked in. What a bummer.

I realize this is partly due to bad customers leaving their trash in a place where it's pretty much self service. But staff should be cleaning and checking as well. Also, the food was meh. Not that great, kind of boring, WAY overpriced for what it was. You could get the same thing at a Safeway deli for $5.00 less. The last part that really set my teeth on edge - we saw a rat in broad day light. Which usually means there is an infestation somewhere. The chickens were cool, but there is a whole bench area covered in chicken poop that they should really clean off because it's in the seating area, and while I know rats are attracted to chicken coops because of the food source, I feel like they should be trying to mitigate that as much as possible. I know one of the employees saw the rat as well. Not much she can do about it. But I hope the owners shift toward a more cleanliness focused mind set. Staff cleaning tables and getting trash taken out more frequently could help some. Personally, it's a cute cafe but I will not be going back.

I have eaten here on many occasions and have rally enjoyed the food. However there was one instance where it was VERY busy and it appeared to be short staffed. When I got up to place my order I felt as if the cashier was IRRITATED at me for being there. I placed my order, and then was able to find a seat. When my order came out, the young lady that brought it to me said it was something other that I had ordered, but she was off and running before I could catch her. So I found another server and told here that I had received the wrong order, she took in the back and was irritated that she even had to do that. When she came back out she said in a very terse tone that "you got the right sandwich". I was so taken aback that I have not been back since. Too bad as I live in the area and enjoy patronizing local business.

Ordered a mocha, and the taste was not good. You would be wasting your hard earned money buying an espresso beverage at this cafe. The lady who helped us was rather rude. It's not a place we will be returning to. The coffee they serve is from Java City, which we found at convenience stores.

Was there a change in ownership? This place has really gone down hill. Sandwiches are a waste of money. I don’t mean this lightly, you’ll get a better sandwich at subway

If they don't have certain ingredients they should tell us beforehand I would have gone elsewhere. Serving me Whole Wheat instead of Whole Grain sucks I know the difference. Not having Sprouts when ordering does matter bringing a sandwich without ordered ingredients is kind of insulting a bit. Also, light Mustard means light NOT nonexistent. While I do appreciate working people but it's best to be forthright because our food, well.....it does matter.
