Numero Uno is a long-standing, family-run Cuban restaurant known for its authentic flavors and friendly service. Customers rave about dishes like Ropa Vieja and Pernil, with Daniela being a standout server. Parking can be tight when busy, and some find the decor outdated.
Tip: Try the lunch specials for good value. Be aware that parking can be limited when the restaurant is busy.

I was really wanting a place to get bistec empanizado and decided to try this place since it said it was on the menu. The food was delicious and the service was so friendly. We also got the yucca frita, which was so tasty. The parking lot and restaurant are very small, but worth a stop!
My wife and I have been going to Numero Uno for many years....a destination for us because we now live in Oviedo...but we still love visiting and enjoying the great food. Our favorite is still the Cuban Sandwich....best we've ever had. and our server, Marien, is awesome.....keep up the great work!
This is probably the best cuban food in Orlando. I always get the same meal, chicken, rice, beans and sometimes Dessert. The flan is usually good.
Numero Uno in Orlando is a must-try for authentic Cuban food. The Tamal Cubano was a moist, rich appetizer, and the Pernil De Cerdo Asado (roast pork) was incredibly tender and flavorful with tangy mojo. The entire dining experience was made exceptional by our server, Daniela, who was attentive, friendly, and provided wonderfully personalized service. Highly recommended!
If ur ever in Orlando and u want really good Cuban food , great service come here please . The food is fire 🔥 and service is awesome! Highly recommended!
I went to pick up a catering service for the company I work for. The food was delicious and scrumptious. 100% recommended. The service, atmosphere, and friendliness were superb.
Was greeted/sat immediately after entering the restaurant. Wait staff were friendly and helpful. My meal was prepared correctly with my special request. Food was flavorful and not over seasoned.
Went for brunch!! Every we ordered was off the chain!!! Steak encebollado, pepper steak, ropa vieja, chicken I'm citrus sauce. The cafe con leche was AMAZING!! The people who working there were nice and presentable.
Quaint authentic Cuban spot. We were traveling through, and craving Cuban Cuisine. I found this spot not too far off the highway on Google Maps. The atmosphere walking in indicated we had made an excellent choice. The food was so good we cleaned our plates. …and of course forgot to take pictures. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken empanadas. Which is amazing. He doesn’t care for chicken. He had steak with onions and yucca… and cleaned his plate. As did I. I had the arroz con pollo. It was truly one of the best I’ve had. We also had the croquettes and the house made sangria. I couldn’t resist their bread pudding. Next time we come through, we will certainly be stopping here again. Oh, I almost forgot. …they have vegetarian options here too
Numero Uno is my favorite Orlando Cuban restaurant for over 30 years. Still the best Ropa Vieja I've ever had. They're Cuban sandwiches are great, too.
Gracias Yami, Mariel, Nelly por todo! Great experience my first time. Loved all I had💯💪🏽🔥😎
Great place… can’t believe we never tried it until today! Food was fresh and flavorful. The service was thorough and proactively advised us on the items that would meet our dietary restrictions (vegetarian).
Incredibly authentic Cuban food, Cathy was a friendly and approachable server.
A hidden gem next to Downtown orlando. Costumer service is phenomenal. Everyone helps you feel at home. The vibes and energy are always on point, with lots of smiles and great hospitality. The food quality is amazing, and the flavors, spices, smells, and plate presentations are wonderful. You just can have enough. Great place to go in alone or with company. Highly recommend it.
A restaurant with history, very tasty and typical food, good flavor, the attention is on another level, I highly recommend them
Great food and service! The staff were very friendly!
My husband and I were visiting Orlando for business. We decided to stop here because it was near our hotel and we passed it a few times during our trip. The food was incredible! The staff was very friendly although our waitress didn't speak much English and it was difficult for her to understand us at times, she was very nice. We're definitely planning to go back when we return to Orlando in a few weeks.
Woooow …best cuban food i had in my life Not an exaggeration !! I have been to Miami and NY many times …nothing like this! Definitely coming again

Great food, great service and a very nice restaurant. You can tell it’s been there a long time which makes it even more enjoyable to visit. The family has been running the place for 40 years. That tells me they’re doing a lot of things right! Give them a try when you’re in Orlando.
The Food Was Amazing!Authentic Cuban Flavor and a 5 Star Service! My New spot to come to when in Orlando. Parking could be a little tight if the place gets Busy.

Solid Cuban in Orlando. Visiting with the wife and had a hankering for Tostones. Ended up getting a Cuban sandwich as well as The Ropa Vieja. Sandwich had a good flavor, though I wish there was more Mojo in the pork, witch was a little light in ratio to the ham. The stewed beef, however was tender and savory. Definitely the highlight for me. Congri was also great. Wife got the Arroz con Pollo (dark.) I tried a bite and was also impressed. We split a Tamale which had a soft light taste and the meat was very well seasoned. Can't speak to the building (we got UberEats) but the food was better than any Cuban I have had since moving to Knoxville, and I think my Grandpa (Rogelio Castro) would concur.
I recently dined at Numero Uno in Downtown Orlando for the first time, and it was a remarkable experience. The Pollo Asado I ordered was delicious, meat fell off the bone good and seasoned to perfection. Kudos to my friend Mike for suggesting this place! What also stood out was the thoughtful seating arrangement and the warm, attentive service from the staff. It's rare to find a place that ticks all the boxes. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu. Definitely a top recommendation for anyone in the area.
For the price point i will definitely recommend. The pernil was flavorful and the rice was good. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because they were arguing amongst the employees and that was a little stressful. This Cuban restaurant fell like being back home but my home is PRico.
Decided to stop in for lunch with my mom, since we were waiting for a later appointment nearby. Parking is a little tricky but does the trick. Service was wonderful, unfortunately their coffee machine was broken, so we were unable to try their coffee. The lunch special was good. We had Palomino Streak and Churrasco steak, both with mixed rice and sweat plantains. The mixed rice was a bit hard, at least to us. Especially considering we arrived before 12pm noon. 4 stars- service due to no coffee ☕️ available
The sandwich I had was O.K. I've definitely had better; but, and this is a Big BUT! The price was awesome 👌 the service was superb and our food was ready fast. I think the roast beef had a bit of freezer burn, definitely wasn't as fresh as I'd hope. Definitely catch the lunch specials though, your wallet will thank you 😊
Solid Cuban Restaurant! I finally decided to drop by after months of planning and the place did not disappoint! This is a Family owned restaurant that has been open for more than 40 years. The food is absolutely delicious and authentic. I had the Currasco with white rice, black beans and yuca. It was outstanding. The steak was cooked to my chosen temperature and the seasoning was on point. This dish was so freaking good. My companion had the "Fiesta Cubana" plate, which had Ropa Vieja, Boliche and Masitas de Cerdo, it was delicious and very flavorful as well. They also bring you a few slices of Cuban bread with butter as an appetizer, which was great. Their prices are very reasonable and they also have daily specials. This restaurant is definitely a must try. The decor is great and the service is outstanding. I had a great experience here and will definitely return.
Service is fast and friendly, ordered the steak with onions which was good but not great and the tostones were small and a bit overdone. The 1/2 chicken was also okay but could of had more flavor. The flan was very good as were the natural juices. Overall good value but the food could have been better.
Great food and atmosphere. Service wasn’t too friendly and welcoming but the food made up for it.

Everytime I go here around lunch time, I feel like my I’m at my grandmas house, simple meals yet so delicious for their prices good for the amount of food you receive. Definitely worth coming back for more!
Got a craving for Cuban food and found this place in the SoDo area and thought to stop by. Loved the decor and the service was awesome however I ordered a Media Noche and to be honest it wasn't that great. I didn't like the taste and the composition of the sandwich. I also would mention to possibly change the meats up or something else to help the sandwich taste better. All in all because of the service I will come back and try something else on the menu. You should too.
My pernil was terrible. When the plate arrived, I thought I had vaca frita because that’s what it looks like, shredded pork fried with onions is what I got, and the server said that is how we make it here. Disappointing.
Food was descent. Not bad at all. Staff was very friendly. Parking is very limited. The rice had hard pieces of fried rice. My wife didn’t like that at all. Portions are not that large for the price.
For first time not a great experience, the waitress was not welcoming, saying what do you want, the pallomilla was very dry, didn't taste freshly made and not even hot... for being served in 5 minutes... very disappointed!
Ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches and then looked and tasted like they were made hours in advanced and reheated later on. Bread was burnt and stale and pork was hard and dry. This was the most disgusting sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Place is called Numero uno, but they should change their name to number 2 because that’s what my meal tasted like
My wife and I ordered masitas de cerdo on the lunch special and rhe online menu said it was 9.99. When I went inside for pick up the manager at the front told me it was 12 dollars each. When I explained the website menu said 9.99 and asked for it to be offered. He said no because we would come back tomorrow and take advantage of the false advertising on the website. That’s not how you do good business and blame the customer for your lack of updating the menu. The food portions were very small as well. The most important thing is good business and we won’t be coming back again.
I came here for lunch, based on amazing reviews. For one, this isn’t authentic Cuban food. The servings are for children. Beginning with the bread appetizers, they brought 4 little breads, one for each of us. I ordered arroz con pollo. And received flavorless yellow rice with chicken guisado. My husband ordered a palominos steak, the black beans was mainly liquid barely any beans. Definitely will not come again nor recommend
Extremely disappointing! The free Bread and butter had more flavor than anything! The sangria was like drinking grape juice. No fruit, no ice,and it was cloudy and tasted like cinnamon! I ordered bistec empanizado and the steak had no seasoning. The white rice was the only thing that didn't disappoint me.
This place has been here from the 1980s, I think its time they move to a new spot. This is so old bugs on are table yes roaches. I have never said anything like this before on a review. I know everyone loves this place cuz it's old school. Time to move on. There's no way Health Inspectors have not found violations
As a cuban-american grew up in Miami enjoying my cuban abuela's cooking and of course the delicious cuban restaurants. This restaurant is NOT cuban food! The flavors are not your traditional cuban flavors. Should be called Latin restaurant.
