Tbh this place hits on all cylinders. I only gave them a 4 for atmosphere cause people may have a inside preference and seats are limited. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes and they did not miss. I had a side of bacon and sausage and both were cooked to expectations. What i loved the most is that the person who i assume is the manager or supervisor continuously does his rounds to each table and ask how is everything and engage in conversation with customers. Was blown away by this place and glad i chose to visit on a whim. They definitely have me as a customer if im looking to eat out for breakfast.
Our first time here. Coffee was smooth. The scramble eggs were cooked perfectly, good sausage patties and my husband liked his bacon. We both had the avocado toast and were thrilled with our choice. We've tried a lot of different avocado toast out there and this was top notch. Chunks of creamy avocado, red onion, goat cheese and kalamata olives. So, so yummy. Can't wait to go back and try lunch
The food is delicious and fresh. Staff is really nice and the service great. I have had the Greek salad and the breakfast quesadilla and would get either one again
Nice, small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch all day. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were delicious with just a hint of cinnamon. The decor is very whimsical with little figurines lining the walls and just made it feel like a down home mom and pop restaurant. I would definitely recommend to my friends to go there.
Came here one day for breakfast, because this place has won a lot of awards, I've heard about it for a while, and it was just time to check it out. So we arrive, get seated, and start ogling at the reasons behind the name of the restaurant. Salt and peppers, Everywhere. It's honestly very pleasantly overwhelming. Shelves upon shelves upon shelves on every wall, every pillar, the windowsills, even the front counter. It was very cool. I was a big fan. It certainly made for endless amounts of looking around during the entire meal. Service was really good. There was only one server when we got there upon opening, but she was really efficient. Really friendly. No issues with service. As for the food, it was so good. I can't remember which omelets we got, as they were specials written on the chalkboard, but overall, their omelets were great. A good amount of egg, a good amount of filling, and something nice that not a lot of places do, an accent of what's inside decorated over the top of the whole thing. Very classy. Very delicious. Sides were great, too. Great amount of char on the potatoes, cooked all the way through, seasoned just right. And the hash browns were mega crispy on top, like a super version of Waffle House. Very good. I also got a side of an everything bagel, which was very toasty and very well buttered. Overall, this was a very good breakfast spot. A lot of spots are kind of lackluster nowadays, but this place had a lot of luster! I will definitely be back.
My mom and I decided to eat at this establishment before venturing to Lake Eola for a morning walk. The breakfast at Shakers was fantastic! I had the vegetarian omelet with hashbrowns and a homemade biscuit and my mom had a giant croissant with a side of bacon. I ordered a breakfast sandwich to-go for my son. The staff was friendly and attentive. The plethora of salt and pepper shakers throughout the restaurant adds a nice warm and welcoming touch. I found that the food was reasonably priced and the portions were healthy.
Orlando, FL. So Steve’s mom collected salt and pepper shakers. Anything that reminds him of his mom is a comforting thing, so I knew he’d love this place and boy did he ever. He took pictures galore and sent them to his brother and his high school buddy. They loved the place too. Food was good and plentiful, service genuinely sweet and attentive. Mushrooms were old and decrepit. I took them out of my salad. But everything else was delicious!
This place is SOMETHING else! I've known about it for maybe a month and think I've been there over half a dozen times. The food is just incredible every time with such reasonable prices. The cinnamon pancakes are a must order even if you just end up taking them home you have to try them! And the salmon Benedict blows my hair back every time despite having ordered it a few times already.
Arrived but the inside was full so we decided to eating outside. Waitress was helpful and friendly during our order. Even though they were busy orders came out quickly. Everything we ordered was spot on. The eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. We also had an egg salad sandwich and a mom’s meatloaf sandwich and both were Wow. The cinnamon rolls pancakes were very good also. Service was great and sitting outside was nice. Overall very enjoyed having brunch here.
Went here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was friendly, we were seated very quickly, and the food came out fast as well. The quality of the food is amazing. I also love the shakers theme, it’s definitely something unique to the central Florida area.
Shakers is the kind of breakfast spot that makes you smile as soon as you walk through the door. The quirky decor, with salt and pepper shakers covering every nook and cranny, gives the place a fun, whimsical vibe that instantly sets it apart. But the real magic happens on the plate! The food at Shakers is nothing short of spectacular. The portions are massive, so come hungry! Every dish is beautifully presented, showing off the vibrant colors of the freshest ingredients. You can really taste the quality in every bite! I was lucky enough to have Reese as my server, and she was an absolute delight. Her warm and friendly demeanor made the meal even more enjoyable, and she went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that combines quirky charm with top-notch food, Shakers is a must-visit. You’ll leave with a full belly and a big smile!
What an amazing little place. The food was AMAZING, so tasty and fresh! Everyone raved. about their food. The chicken salad with the cranberries and walnuts was to die for. Fresh chunks of breast meat. The sandwiches were so big that we had to take half home. It felt like our grandma was hiding in the kitchen cooking every meal. Everyone was happy and made us feel like we were family. We can’t wait to return. This is a MUST if you are in the Orlando area.
Dont miss the value in the Quesadilla and Avocado Toast. So many items like shortrib meat with potatoes, and so little time. You will most likely find Shakers on a wait. But the highly skilled and attentive staff will also get your served in record time. The food comes out so frequently, you can almost pick your item from looking at everything going past you.
Very good food! My husband had the special breakfast quesadilla. It was delicious and they should definitely keep that on the permanent menu. My French toast was good as well. We came on Sunday morning around 10 am and we were able to be seated immediately. They also had parking but it is limited. I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area
My boyfriend and I visited while on our anniversary trip and we’re still talking about it a week later! We sat outside to enjoy the weather and the inside was also very packed (Sunday afternoon). The cinnamon roll pancakes were so good and bigger than we imagined. The berry fruit bowl was refreshing. Our server, Mercedes, was awesome! She checked on us multiple times and gave us great recommendations on places to visit that we ended up having a great time at later on in the day. Shakers Cafe is now a requirement every time we’re in Orlando!
My wife and I came to the out of the way restaurant (from the interstate) expecting it to not be crowded. But, this place is hopping. Had excellent food. Because it was crowded, the wait time was a little late initially, but service was fast once it got started. I might try to come here again if I am in the area.
I've been going to Shakers on Sunday for about a year. Chakeres is my breakfast go to spot close to my home. Most the time it's just me and a friend other times I meet my family. Everybody I've introduced to this place has loved it. My favorite meal is the sausage and biscuits it comes with one biscuit cut in half with gravy one egg one bacon one sausage. I also recently tried the cinnamon roll pancake. 🤎
If you’re on business and want to getaway from all the noise from work, this is a hidden gem to be shared to the world. Had the privilege to speak with Chelsea the owner, and how she’s hardworking making this spot a cozy one for all not only for snowbirds and locals, but for the ones like me who come from time to time to Orlando. Amazing team leader, and a great host.
This was such a cute little spot! They have both outdoor and indoor seating. The variety of shakers as decor on the walls is such a cute theme, hence the name Shakers American Café. The food was extremely fresh and let's just say they aren't greedy with the bacon! We found this place on Yelp and are so happy we found it, we'll be back for more 😉
I was simply looking for breakfast. Google said this was close. I am so glad it did! Food was fantastic!! Meat lovers omelet was so good. The staff were so good and friendly. (Almost thought she was flirting 😂). The Shakers were really cool, brought back memories of ones my grandmother's had. I look forward to returning.
Savana was incredibly kind and patient. Service was on point, the food was great, and the whole theme made the experience fun. Definitely coming back again.
Great breakfast place. Everything on the menu is worth trying. Try a grilled biscuit, it's worth the carbs Wonderful, friendly service.
We were visiting Orlando on a trip, and was searching around for a local breakfast place and came across Shakers. It looks very homey when going in as there are, as their name suggests, salt and pepper shakers EVERYWHERE in the restaurant. There are shelves with unique ones, and each table has a unique set as well. The place is somewhat small, but has a nice quaint feel which leads to fast and efficient service. While we arrived during the busiest hour of 12 PM, we were seated within 10 minutes which is impressive as most places have you waiting over 45 min - 1 hour. In terms of food, it was very good especially for the price. They have a lot of unique special options for breakfast and lunch which are worth looking into. For myself, I had the 3 egg omelette meat lovers - which had a lot of meat cooked to perfection. Bacon and sausage was crispy, and roast beef has a ton of flavour and was not dry which is a problem for a lot of places. My fiancé had the salmon and eggs benedict - which was perfectly. I wouldve wanted thinner slices of salmon as it could be a bit overpowering but thats personnal preference. It could also be on the saltier side so Id recommend to have it without capers if your sensitive to it albeit they add a unique flavour. Our son had 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, and 2 slices of french toast. The french toast is pretty popular as its made on a brioche bread which is ideal, crispy on the outside and buttery on the inside. They were a bit eggy, but still tasted yummy! Id highly recommend to anyone around ;)
This is one of those hidden jems, that seem like urban legend but is real. The decor and atmosphere allow for a slow paced meal with plenty of conversation, but once you tase the food... All that goes out as its soo good you don't want to stop until you've cleaned off the plate. Come for the food stay for the atmosphere
Orders lunch for myself & 8 others for work lunch, one was a special order. All were ready for pick up on time and each choice was made according to request. Great job!!!
Great food & service. My favorite local breakfast spot in College Park.
Shakers American Café is a gem of a breakfast spot! It has a cozy, intimate setting with a wonderful family, mom-and-pop vibe that makes you feel right at home. The cinnamon roll pancakes are a must-try—absolutely delicious and the perfect indulgence. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. A great place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or brunch. Highly recommend!
Our new FAVORITE breakfast joint in all of Florida! The food was phenomenal! I ordered the Avocado and Bacon omelet with hash browns and their homemade biscuit! The omelet was perfect and STUFFED with bacon, the hash browns were cooked crispy like I love, and the biscuit.....OMG! My boyfriend ordered the Maple Glazed Pork Belly Benedict with home fries! OUT OF THIS WORLD! Our waitress, Becky, was the bomb-diggity! She even went the extra mile and found us packets of Heinz ketchup! They offer Humts on the table, and we joked that it wasn't "real" ketchup simce we grew up in the Midwest! The atmosphere is fun and very clean! The s&p collections all over the restaurant are fun to check out! The portions were large and the prices were fair! We can't wait to go back!
Amazing atmosphere and kids friendly place with definitely 💯 delicious tasty breakfast 🍳 and very welcoming staff , i would recommend the hash corned beef and turkey bacon and the pancakes were such a fluff melts in mouth , reminds me of japanese buttery pancakes 🥞, also i got a fruit cup for my baby and i was very impressed they didn’t bring me the slimy standard fruit cup we get even in fancier places but they have impressed us with a fresh cut of pineapple 🍍 and cantaloupe and melon and big red grapes 🍇 that my little one has enjoyed, and I don’t remember the name of another delicious meal we got but the picture attached will tell you how great the quality of food in there , this will be our spot for family weekends and specials 🥰i want to thank everyone there from chef to waitresses to the lady who welcomed us for the great quality atmosphere you have presented, and i could see it in all guests over there they were happy and smiling, keep the amazing work going 💪 We didn’t forget to order the warm cinnamon roll and christmassy flavor of hot chocolate! Top !🥰
I heard wonderful reviews about this place and still I was skeptical after seeing the menu. However, my sandwich was amazing!! I ordered the chicken avocado melt and my God, perfection!! Even the sauce that was on it, some sort of mustard concoction (and I hate mustard). They don’t skimp on avocado either, it was literally pouring out of my sandwich. The chicken was a tad dry but I will absolutely be back and will get the same exact thing.
Shakers was such a great experience. So much so I forgot to photograph the rest of our food. All which was so so delicious. I had a lemon raspberry muffin with sausage links. I wanted one to go but completely forgot. Take my word for it... EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. We had no leftovers 😁
If you are looking for a cute little place with delicious American style cuisine, Shakers American Café is the way to go. This small restaurant offers outdoor seating and it has a pretty decent parking space, when you go inside the restaurant you’ll realize why they called it Shakers and it’s because they have the biggest collection of salt and pepper shakers decorating their walls and tables. Their customer service is very good, as soon as we step in, the manager approach us quick and after greeted us she took us to our table right away! The waiters are friendly and knowledgeable and they help you if you have any questions about the menu and also they have menus on the walls that shows you the specials they have. Food portions are very good size and delicious. If you come to Orlando Florida to visit for couple of days, then make Shakers your breakfast spot and you will experience good flavors, great customer service and nice indoor and outdoor seating areas to enjoy a great breakfast or lunch. Highly recommended! Please click on the like button if you find this review helpful, thank you!
I’ve passed by this small cafe many mornings passing through Collage Park. I wanted some grits and was too lazy to cook my own. Small cute cafe on Edgewater Drive, the service and excellent and the food was just as good. They even served real butter with my grits. Not that fake mess..❤️😁😁
Eggcelent breakfast, including old standbys made great and unique menu items like different hashes and omelets. Also many baked items. It can get expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Delicious food and a nice staff! Check out their enormous collection of salt and pepper shakers on the walls and a different set on every table
Was my 2nd time here, Great breakfast, quality food and kind and smiling servers. The sausage patties are the best A must stop in and try.
Visited for brunch on a Wednesday. Seems like a local favourite with a variety of brunch and lunch classics and shakers specialities. The server- Dominque was very friendly and understanding of food allergies - gf and vegetarian and also gave her personal recommendations from the menu- which were delicious. Save room or share the cinnamon roll pancake.
Great experience. The food was delicious!! My order for confused with a different dish; the server immediately took action. The owner stopped by my table and apologized, and didn't charge me for the meal. I’m Definitely coming back; regardless of whether it was one mistake, it got corrected and appropriately handled. I recommend this place for sure!
Such a cute little family restaurant! Their name is from the 100's of salt and pepper shakers on the tables, and on all the walls! Their breakfast is always the Best! 🥓🍳Now they're also serving Mimosas!! 🥂
Sunday brunch for three. Short wait for an inside table. Hundreds of decorative salt and pepper shaker sets for decor. Very cute. Service - friendly and excellent. Coffee - a little on the weak side but hot and topped up frequently. Food - this place has some serious breakfast fu. Highly recommended.
First time and now I now why Shakers is a staple of the College Park Orlando area. When you walk in you’ll immediately know why the restaurant is named “Shakers”, as hundreds of salt-n-pepper skaters adorn the walls. I ordered the maple-glazed pork belly eggs Benedict with hash browns and it was delicious! Serving portion was perfect too! Staff was friendly and our waitress was on point with checking on us from beginning to end. The place isn’t too big, maybe enough for 50 people or so. We went on a weekday but I was told the weekends are jam-packed, so get there early if you’re heading out on a Sat/Sun. Even for a Thursday mid-morning, it was moderately busy, but we sat down right away and if not for conversation, could have easily been in and out of there in under an hour. Certainly recommend and definitely will be going back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute little place. I had the corn beef hash with 2 eggs, hash browns and wheat toast and everything was delicious 😋. The server was super nice and the food came out quick. My sister had the crab asparagus Benedict with grits and cheese and a friend had the avocado bacon omelet. Will go again.
Our first visit this morning has been a great experience. This is a fairly small Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating along the side of the building. Today, since it was our first visit we tried a few extra things with our breakfast entrees. We ordered a fresh baked cinnamon roll $3.99 to share and it was enough for 2-3 people and very tasty. For breakfast we ordered the Annie’s Apple Omelet with Chopped apples, goat cheese, raisins and bacon with a side of hash browns and a grilled buttermilk biscuit $8.99. Very flavorful, fluffy and unique. We will definitely order again. The Chorizo and Goat cheese omelet with side of home fries and grilled buttermilk biscuit $10.99was flavorful and lightly spicy, just right. We also ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla $10.99with was a good size, grilled crisp and just perfect. We also ordered a side of corned beef hash $5.99 which was lightly grilled also. Our server was Emily and she is absolutely delightful and helpful with deciding what to order. Emily is enough reason to return, and the food is pretty amazing.
Shakers breakfast restaurant is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with friendly staff ready to welcome you. The menu is extensive and offers a variety of classic breakfast options, including eggs, pancakes, and waffles, all cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The coffee is always hot and fresh, and the freshly squeezed orange juice is a must-try. What sets Shakers apart is their commitment to good service and a inviting environment. Overall, Shakers is a fantastic breakfast spot that should not be missed.
I finally found a place to eat Breakfast that takes me back to NYC !!!! They cook real jomefired potatoes with options like grits, hashbrowns and the eggs are cooked perfect to order, the wait staff is soooo friendly. Anyone from NYC this is the place to eat. The lunch menu and soup option will blow your mind. This place has real food with real chefs and cooks that know food.
We visited this restaurant for lunch and found it bustling, which initially made me worry about the wait time. Typically, I prefer a quick lunch experience. However, to my pleasant surprise, we were seated almost immediately, and our food arrived swiftly thereafter. The meal was outstanding. I chose the Greek salad with potato salad, deciding against adding protein. It was both satisfying and wonderfully flavorful.
This place has great food, PERIOD. Awesome service with classic cafe breakfast and lunch options. Very good and a must visit for quick food and a appropriately priced menu. Thanks Shakers!
This is a little hole in the wall in College Park, Orlando area. Shakers is named after, well, all the shakers they have in the store. The ladies taking the orders were great. I got the Maple Glazed Pork Belly Benedict (pictured) my husband got the Beef Short Rib Hash (not pictured). Both were delicious. Great little spot to visit.
Our first time and it was great. Our server, Alexis, was sweetand guided me in trying their special. It was the avocado omlette with a biscuit and potato cake. My son had the buttermilk pancakes and the portion was huge and super yummy. The coffee was definitely great. The place is clean and very welcoming. I love all of the salt shaker decor. Can't wait to go back.
Hotel offered a carb bar for breakfast and Google searches said this was the happening place. Was it the best breakfast ever? No. Was it quaint and kind? Yes. Food was ok. We asked if the biscuits were mad in house and told yes. I think that means the frozen package was opened and they were baked there. But price was good and it was fun to see how many Mr and Mrs thanksgiving salt and pepper shakers were hiding on the walls.
I found this place on Google and saw that they had amazing reviews. This is a small place with a Limited parking area. 10am on a Saturday morning I was surprised that we were able to find a spot to park. But we did. Walking up we saw lots of ppl eating outside and standing outside the door, but thankful as soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated inside. They have a lot of options on the menu but the Short Rib and Hash listed on the Breakfast special board had my attention because it was different. I was originally leaning toward the corn beef and hash. The short rib dish came with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese. The other order we had was the Brioche French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. It was very busy here during our visit but the waitresses did an amazing job providing great service. Once we put our order in, it took less than 10 mins before our food was already on our table. Both of the dishes were great. The Short Rib was diced and tender. Had excellent flavor and the potatoes n carrots that came with it was … wow. That’s all I can say. The only thing about the potatoes were that they had slightly too much salt , but it didn’t ruin the meal. I can’t wait to come back. I now have a new fav breakfast spot in Orlando.
Our server, Savanah, was great! Pleasant and so attentive. Loved my salmon eggs Benedict. Will be back when on this side of town
Themed after salt and pepper shakers! They have them displayed everywhere, and a diferent set at every table. They use the original menu because the owners swore to never change it, but they suppliment this with a special board full of great and creative options! Service was friendly and the coffee was actually great! My only complaint is I couldn't swap my bread out for something.. not a huge deal, but it's an allergy, and I would have loved an option for gluten free or a small upcharge for fruit or something. It was also kind of expensive, I spent about $40 with tip for two custom (moderately constructed) omelets and 2 coffees. That's just today's prices but still hard to stomach! Nice place to sit outside as well - cool ambiance.
What's not to love about a place that has creative breakfast grub? American style breakfasts can be so repetitively monotonous. Not here. Highly recommend the smoked salmon benedict as well as the pork belly benedict. The pancakes are delicious and the hashbrowns cooked up nice and crisp. 4th visit. Each time has been as good as the last. The daily specials, as well as their everyday breakfast items, are always spot on. The service has always been fast and friendly. It's not a huge dining room, so if you have larger parties you may want to plan a little in advance.
Always on point. good food, great service, fair pricing! I do wish they served stronger coffee but no big deal!
I’ve always believed in supporting local, family-owned spots, and this place reminded me exactly why I love Mama-and-Pop restaurants. I stopped in for breakfast the other day, and the experience was everything you hope for in a neighborhood gem—warm atmosphere, welcoming staff, and a genuine sense of community the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they take pride in what they do. I had the chance to talk with the manager, Jason, and he made the visit even better. He was incredibly nice, personable, and engaging with my family, which set the tone for the whole meal. The hospitality was truly on point, and the food matched the service—fresh, hot, and full of flavor. I’ll definitely be back, not only for the great breakfast but for the kind of service that makes you feel right at home.
What a vibe this little restaurant has. No fuss good food with a relaxed atmosphere. Made me realize that I hadn't been in a joint with such good feel in a long time. They stayed authentic to what they do best, good food. Good times. Will definitely return
The wait staff was friendly. My food was fresh and served quickly, even though they were getting busy. The manager was attentive, making sure people had what they needed. I was very happy with the entire experience and will definitely be back. I would love to try their lunch.
It’s a cozy restaurant close to downtown Orlando. Great place to experience a different atmosphere and try for breakfast. They have a good selection of breakfast meals all very delicious. I tried their eggs with sausages very delicious but too salty. The only downside of it was that the water tasted like tap water with no filtration. Overall it is a good place to try once in a while.
Took a minute to realize the name was due to the saltnpeppa shaker collection, not an homage to a protestant sect. Warm and friendly setting with good Quick breakfast.
Tasty food, tiny and busy place but they’ve doubled their capacity with outdoor seating. They make breakfast fun again instead of the same old same old. We got the pork belly Benedict, cinnamon roll pancakes, and avocado toast (all are on the specials menu but my understanding is they don’t change their specials). We got a side waffle as well which was yummy too! (Not pictured). 15 minute wait to be seated, 15 minute wait for food. Everyone was pleasant and food was great Will come back 4.5 stars
The area is nice. I always drove by wanting to go so today my husband chose this place for us to eat. They have dining indoor & outdoor. We chose indoor since it was chilly outside today. The other customers were a little awkward being that they looked at us like we were aliens walking in. However the staff was so nice & diversed. Now on to the food!!! It was so good. The prices are reasonable. They had free refills on certain drinks. Definitely recommend & I’m definitely coming back to try more of their dishes.
A quaint little diner run by a lovely couple. Pork belly Benedict was really good. Substituted the English muffin for biscuit and it was still so good. Sides of mushrooms and spinach were good as well, though it could do with far less oil. Overall a lovely Sun brunch. Easy parking on the sides. Will def be back for more. —- UPDATE: came here a second time for pancakes and also ordered some sides. Pancakes were done just right without too much chocolate chips. I specifically requested and reiterated thrice that my side fry of mushrooms, onions and spinach be done with less oil. They however still came drenched and dripping in oil. Why do you need that much oil?
What an eclectic place. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many salt and pepper shakers in one location. My partner and I stopped in for lunch. I went with the classic patty melt, which was absolutely amazing while my partner deferred and went with the soup and chicken salad sandwich, which they say was amazing.
Enjoyed our breakfast. Hubby had crab and asparagus omelet and I had the chorizo and goat cheese omelet. Hubby's was cooked great. Mine was a little over done. Potatoes were the star of the plate! Biscuit was dense but very moist and I got it grilled which added a nice crisp to the outside. Overall we enjoyed our visit and the service was outstanding!
La espera fue mucha. Se llena por ser bueno en precios, ambiente familiar, variedad de platos pero pequeño para el volumen de personas.
The restaurant is very small, compacted, and too many people for a small atmosphere. Restaurant needs to be updated, remodeled interior & exterior, however the decor interior is cute due to all the collection of shakers. The food taste is ok, the portions are reasonable, and the price menu is affortable for quick brunch.
Went here while visiting Orlando. Despite the reviews I read online I found that this food is mediocre at best. Maple bacon glazed pork belly was neither braised or Maple glazed. The pork belly was so chewy I couldn't eat it. The so called glaze was actually Maple season dry spice that was heavy-handed and put on the top of eggs. My English muffin was Burnt. My husband crab and asparagus omlet was ok. The asparagus was not prepared right.
So to rate this place from one dish .. ok I had cinnamon pancakes 🥞.. Pros: LOVED the I believe they must drizzled a cinnamon glaze when cook it gives a layer of different textures to each bite . Little crunch little fluff and big in taste. Cons: The one item I'm concerned with was the hasbrown ( see pic) look at the textured almost rounded as if not natural . The way it broke apart was not of a natural potato.. I'm willing to say they buy this and it has fillers. I love hasbrown but this one skip it something is off here . Skip coffee and hash . $30 just for me alone when adding hash side , juice and turkey sausage vs regular. I dont eat breakfast out much . I hope this is not the new norm for breakfast .
Vibe was kitschy and cute. Food was so so and service was pretty bad. We went on a Sunday morning, so it’s understandable that it took 25 minutes to get our food. Sort of. It took another 15 minutes and multiple requests to get all the items to the table, including toast, syrup and hot sauce. Waitress was very nice but somehow kept disappearing. And if you want a coffee refill, good luck. Glad we tried it but won’t be back.
Mid at best. Very crowded and cramped and loud, with an extremely long wait for the food, Table wait was just 20 minutes it's a weekend and I get it. the food was very greasy, bland and in my opinion not worth waiting for. I specifically did NOT like the hashbrowns. My family I went with were mixed in opinion. My mom disliked her oatmeal and it looked dry and undercooked. My dad loved his shortrib hash. My grandma said hers was just okay. My husband also said it was mid except for the biscuit. He liked the biscuit. But we will not come back.
I was honestly pretty disappointed with our visit at Shakers. The server was good but seemed overworked and the food had mold on it. When we brought the mood to the attention of the manager she comped that item and left it on that, nothing else. She seemed annoyed, frustrated, and unapologetic like she wanted to just get us out of there.
I used to order here a lot during covid and the food was good. Not sure what happened with the quality. It was really busy given it is a weekend but I was disappointed in the food. It was almost inedible with the exception of the omelet. The omelet was ok but lacked flavor and seasoning. Everything else was undercooked. The grits weren’t cooked well and seemed to be filled with lots of water, it had a soupy consistency. I ended up throwing majority of the food away. I will unlikely visit again. Paid about $20 for breakfast. The place is also very small.
I came on a Friday morning for breakfast and asked to sit outside to enjoy the nice weather. I waited 30 minutes before anyone came out to even ask if I’d been helped. The waiter went back inside and never returned. I ended up placing a pickup order just to get my food in 15 minutes, faster than the table service. Terrible service, and definitely not worth leaving a tip.
We have been before but not for some years and as you will see my review previously was 5 star. This visit was shocking 1hr wait and if the food was good I will wait 1hr. This time cold food and over done and burnt no point was we asked if all OK or everything taste OK. I pointed out my pork was all fat and they knocked $4 off would I go again no 25min drive for poor service and food.
This place is an absolute joke now. I used to love this place and stopped in for breakfast whenever in the area. Food was always hot and fresh. Service always great and fast. It has def changed since the ownership changed from the look of the reviews. I walked in and sat at a table, waitress greeted me with a smile and asked what I would like to drink and left to bring me coffee. The good part of the visit was over at that point. I had to ask for a rag to clean the dried syrup with napkin stuck to it off the table. No biggie it can happen. She took care of it for me. I ordered the short rib hash which came with eggs and a biscuit. Food came out pretty quickly and it was pretty obvious why as soon as I took a bit. Potatoes were raw and covered in grease. Not undercooked but raw all the way thru. The biscuit which was more like an old roll then a biscuit was hard as a rock. I brought it to the waitresses attention and she was very apologetic which was appreciated. She offered to bring me other potatoes but I politely declined. I mean I kinda gave up on it at that point since that was the quality of food that came out of the kitchen when they weren’t even busy. I asked for the tab and she brought it and apologized again. When I looked at the tab the food was still on there. I fully expected to pay for the coffee and assumed they would take the rest off at the register. I walked up to the counter to pay and mentioned the the other server that the food was sent back and not eaten at all and he repeated the total to me. I said “so the food was sent back because it was raw and not edible and I am still being charged?” And he simply said yes. I paid the tab and went to walk away, got half way to the door and was called back by a woman from the kitchen. I walked back explained what happened and she said to ask for her next time when I came back. Really?? I am assuming she was a manager or something of the like. I asked her why I would come back after being made to pay for a meal I could not eat. I told her I would not be back and turned to leave quietly. She continued to call me but I had wasted enough time and $25 in this place. I am sure after reading some of the other bad reviews and responses that there will be a response from the owner so let me save you the time. Becky, I am not coming back and won’t ask for you. To simply respond to a bad reviews with “come back and ask for Becky” is not gonna fix the problem. Maybe more time in the kitchen making sure you don’t send out cold greasy undercooked food and less time with short pointless responses to bad reviews might help. Just my opinion after that plate of garbage your kitchen put out.
I have been coming here since I was a kid and me and my wife came in a few weeks ago as usual. (We try to come in a few times a month) The restaurant just seemed off between the waiters not being up to par and the food being not so delectable. Since the new owners things have been steadily going down hill and have been trying to change what was working for years. The head chef destroyed any flavor in the food by “trying new ingredients” and my food should be fairly solid not a liquid falling off everywhere. Food came out cold and was told by one of the only people left from the prior owners to please not give up on shakers. I unfortunately have to say after 3 bad visits I can’t justify having to sit down and wait for a bad meal.
Ditto: (screenshot) So disappointed with quality of food and lack of experience with our server (though I think I’ve seen her there before?). As some other reviewers mentioned, the quality has gone down hill. I use to look forward to eating at Shakers and bringing friends over, too. However, I will no longer return. Unfortunately the eggs were drenched in cooking oil, but my children were hungry so they eat it anyways. I had to send back my quiche; it was old. The eggs had texture - and almost tasted - like chicken. I don’t know what has me feeling nauseous now after “eating” here; the two bites of quiche or the concentrated orange juice 🤷♀️ And yes, how do you burn yet undercook hash browns? These we oily too, maybe this is what got me feeling sick. Super disappointing. Also, not a very kid friendly establishment aside from providing high chairs. I was hesitant to write this review and just not come back, but I am feeling sick by the food. Literally.
We had a really disappointing experience at Shakers. I came in with my family of 6 and we were seated right away. It then took 20 minutes just to receive menus, and when they finally arrived, the server seemed confused and asked if we had already been helped. During this time, at least five parties who arrived after us were seated and given menus immediately. We ordered drinks and waited… and waited. Every table around us that came in after us ordered, ate, and left while we were still sitting there. A side of hash browns and a side of potatoes were brought out and then sat on the table for over 20 minutes with no food following. Eventually, two of our kids received the single pancake they ordered, and the rest of us were still waiting. After over an hour, before any real rush even started, we still did not have our food. At that point, I had to get up and ask to cancel our order because literally everyone around us had already been served and left. I offered to pay for what had come out, which cost us $27, and there was no manager available to void the order. Very poor service, lack of communication, and no management support. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
Really sad to see this place go downhill. Been going there for years. Favorite spot. But it got sold. And I went there for the first time in a few months. Food was cold, biscuits were hard as a rock and nobody came to ask us how the food was. Not good. Won't be back. Sad.
