Beautiful spot on the water. People are always friendly. Bar staff is busy but you don't have to wait too long. Upscale and on the pricey side for Oswego.
I had the most AMAZING beef satay with tabouleh, grilled pita and tzatziki! SO delicious! We had a lovely meal on the patio. It started to rain but it didn't affect our wonderful evening!
When I went, I only ordered drinks, did not order food but the atmosphere of the place was very nice. There's a bar area that overlooks the water and they have a fire pit type deal too, the view alone was really nice. Great service too, bartenders were very friendly and talkative. Made for a very nice expierance.
Oswego's finest dining, cocktail, and live music venue. Right on the inner harbor makes it a nice spot to enjoy those world famous Lake Ontario sunsets. Well managed and adequately staffed. Menu is delicious. Inner restaurant is gorgeous and acoustically designed for good conversation at every table. Indoor and outdoor bars and dining set ups, give you nice options. Top entertainment from local artists. Highly recommended!
They have a great food menu. You also can't beat the views of the river and lake while dining here. Very friendly staff as well. A must visit restaurant/bar if you're in Oswego.
Great bar setting. Tia made a wonderful margarita. So refreshing on a hot day!
Jorge absolutely stunning looks and personality made me feel like family!
Great night! Food, served super fast delish!! Grouber tacos ,beet salad, ragging river egg rolls! With music 🎶 Condersenders.
Delightful atmosphere; excellent wait staff; yummy food. Thank you Yari R!
Had a great experience, Jack greeted us with a huge smile and the service was great. Thank you again, will definitely be recommending to friends n family
Food was delicious, Jorge came out and suggested apps, Trey was great!
My fiance and I hosted our graduation dinner here last year (Dec 2016). It was a large party - around 15-20 people - and the staff handled it so well. The food was good, but we were more impressed with the service given that it was such a huge party.
My husband and I had dinner outside on Friday evening. Our waitress was Skyar and she was great. The food was outstanding. I had the Mediterranean pasta dinner and my husband the prime rib (Hugh). I noticed the bus boy cleaning tables very quickly. We will go back. The atmosphere is like no other dining experience in Oswego.
Hostess Alessia is the best!! Definitely coming again from the Oswego Tiki Bots!!!
Had a wonderful dinner with family at Alex’s on Wednesday night. We ate outside and the temperature was nice enough to be enjoyable. This is the second time this year we have traveled from our cottage in upstate NY, 60 miles to enjoy an Alex’s dinner. Would highly recommend to anyone. Will be back again next year!
We love the Dockside Bar and grill. They have 2 very attentive bar tenders that make the best drinks. They are very friendly.Their names are Tia Westberry and Vikki. These girls go above and beyond to make your experience a great one.
Waiter was very polite, overall great guy. Food was amazing. Definitely recommend going. Will be going back.
Alessia was such a wonderful hostess. She told it was her first day. What a great first day. Loved her. So friendly!!
Our waitress was amazing. We had 15 people and were able to have separate checks. Ever yr hint was served hot and with a smile
Julia was awesome!! Was there for my birthday with my sister. Very personable and great service. Thanks again!
We didn’t eat, but Jorge took care of all our needs. Food looked and smelled amazing, will eat there on the next visit
The food was wonderful but our waitress, Julia, was even better! Had a great night and can’t wait to come back!
Jorge is the bomb! Bar staff is great. Highly recommend you try this gem on the water!
We had a great time here with yummy food and drinks at a good price considering the lovely view. Very friendly service too!
Great service. Salad didn’t come with the peaches, but who cares. It was tasty! Great atmosphere with a nice vibe!
Went to the soft opening and had drinks and appetizers. Service and the food was served quickly and hot, tasted great.
Always a great time at Dockside. Jorge and staff go above and beyond to make it special. Great food too xx
Upon walking in the inside of restaurant is amazing! We chose to eat on the patio outside as they had live music and it was a summer night! The girls that seated us were amazing and checked on us two or three times. We had a small communication issue but the managers from the restaurant and bar both went above and beyond for a minor flaw that really i didn't expect! The atmosphere and vibe were just what we were looking for on a summer night out! The staff are amazing and our waitress Bri was outstanding! She made our date night out great and gave us the best service! In the customer service world i always say if you have or make any mistakes it's how you overcome and everyone here did just that! Thank you for a wonderful night and we will be back as we are new to the area from another state!
I had a great time at Dockside. Dave was cooking and our food came out fast and was cooked perfectly! We had the gator bites for the first time. They were delicious. I will definitely have to order them again next time I go.
Went to dinner on a Friday evening. It was crowded but we were served in a timely manner. I had the beet and mandarin orange salad with chicken. It was one of the best salads I've ever tasted. My husband had the Skipper sliders - he raved about them. Our waiter was Jack and he was wonderful.; very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place and will definitely return.
Julia is the best, most awesome server on staff. She made us feel welcome. And even recognized national gay uncle day for my son.
Incredible service!! Even though there were like 40 weddings going on and we weren't in most of them, Julia was incredibly attentive, friendly, and personable. 19/5 stars!!
Several friends and I are in Oswego for several days staying in the nearby marina waiting for good weather to sail onward. We came here after visiting several other restaurants in the area and had the best experience of the visit. The food was delicious, especially the tuna which I had, and we were able to find our favorite beers on tap. We especially enjoyed our charming waitresses, Sophia and Halia. They're enthusiasm was very refreshing and lifted our spirits.
I had a great experience, apparently I was the first pickup order, but I had gotten the Strawberry & Peach Buratta and it was the best salad I’ve ever gotten. The staff were very friendly, the views outside looked stunning. I will continue to order from here, doubtlessly.
Awesome new addition to the Oswego restaurant line up! Great alligator bites and the chicken was very tender and juicy. Staff were amazing Jack was very friendly and helpful. Awesome view, and good volume of music. Not loud. All in all I enjoyed the experience and will be back!
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Dockside Bar & Grill with friends! We were lucky to get the perfect table with a beautiful waterfront view—an ideal setting for a relaxing evening. The beach-inspired menu hit all the right notes, offering fresh options that perfectly suited the laid-back vibe. The entire staff was warm, attentive, and professional. A special shout-out to our waiter, Jack, who made the experience even better with his friendly attitude and excellent service. If you're in Oswego, be sure to put Dockside Bar & Grill at the top of your must-do list.
Soft opening was great. Jack was our server and very attentive and personable. Food was delicious! Come check out their menu and outside patio, putting green and games for some fun with friends!
Dockside Bar and Grill offers a dining experience that perfectly captures the charm of Oswego’s waterfront. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and efficient, attentive service that sets the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable meal. The food is a standout—thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Whether you’re there for a casual lunch or a sunset dinner, the menu offers something for everyone, and each dish is served with care and quality you can taste. What truly sets Dockside apart is the setting. Nestled right along the water, the views are nothing short of spectacular. The laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to unwind with friends, enjoy a date night, or simply soak in the beauty of the harbor. One small note of feedback: while the bar service was friendly and efficient, we did find the mixed drinks to be a bit on the lighter side. A little more balance or potency would elevate the beverage experience to match the excellence of the food and service. A special shoutout to our server, Keziah, who made the experience even more memorable with her warm demeanor and above-and-beyond service. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our visit—an absolute gem! With its combination of great service, delicious food, a stunning waterfront location, and standout team members like Keziah, Dockside Bar and Grill is a must-visit when in Oswego.
If you’ve been to La Parilla (the restaurant previously occupying this space), pretty much all the decor is the same, however the food is better now, if much more low key. We went last Friday and there was live music playing on the riverside patio so the place was packed. Definitely due to that, the service was good but they could have used a few extra hands to serve food or just hang around the patrons because there were a ton of us! Honestly the crowd seemed to be the same as the previous times I’ve visited, a mixture of locals and tourists enjoying the gorgeous riverfront sunset and more than a couple of drinks. We were seated promptly and I had a virgin Vodcolada (frozen cherry pina colada but non alcoholic because I wanted to skip the headache) and unsweetened tea (there was no sweet tea option, maybe later 🤞🏻). For an appetizer, calamari, and we ordered our food at the same time: a galley burger for me and grouper tacos for my partner. I think we were both surprised at the smaller portion sizes but by the end of the meal we were full. My Galley burger was definitely the better of the two meals, the grouper was a tad dry, even if they were going for crispy. The galley burger was just about perfect, even though I had to use every inch of my cloth napkin to keep my fingers from being greasy. Even so, we tried a s’mores cookie for dessert which was very good. As far as room for improvement goes, I would like to see more entrees, as all the “entrees” were salads or handhelds unless you ordered an appetizer as an entree (which there were plenty to choose from). I don’t mind the smaller portion sizes portion sizes, but I did feel like the Press Box and G.S. Steamer’s menus had a wild night and that’s how this little menu came about. We’ll definitely be back to try more. 🙂
My friends and I went for dinner and drinks last night and it was one of the best girls nights we have had yet. From the atmosphere, staff, drinks, & food it was a great experience all around! There was a large area for outdoor games, fire pit, indoor/outdoor bars, and lots of unique food options including alligator bites. Gluten free options available as well! We shared the tuna, shrimp, river rolls, & flatbread. Everything was delicious but the tuna was outstanding! 10/10 recommend!
Met some friends for drinks & lunch on 8/3 we sat outside, where there was a lot of seating and a pretty view. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Loved the food, presentation and the Grouper Tacos were awesome, was nice to see you offered fruit as a included side that had a generous amount of melon and watermelon. The afternoon acoustic music added to the relaxing Sunday vibe.
This place is warm and friendly and the employees seem really happy and enthusiastic about their jobs. The grouper appetizer is delicious and it's a beautiful location. I realize things have changed and social norms aren't what they used to be but allowing a patron to be on speakerphone really loud the whole dinner affects the other customers. Considering that this isn't a super cheap restaurant, let's keep some kind of standards it's s easier if the staff just pays attention to these things and then handles it with the customer without waiting for people to complain. It keeps the atmosphere nicer.
Service was spot on, very attentive and observant. Food was extraordinary and arrived in the proper order and in due time. The drinks, from a multitude of beers, wines and mixed drinks, down to the virgin cocktails and sodas arrived quickly and refilled without hesitation. Myself and my fiance will definitely be returning and will be encouraging friends and coworkers to come experience fine dining by the water
We met some friends for dinner Friday evening. The restaurant was clean and beautiful. We were immediately greeted by two hostesses that were kind and welcoming. We were sad that it was such nasty weather, but the gorgeous fireplace near our table brought warmth and ambiance. The staff was accommodating and friendly, we never waited for anything. Our server’s name was Skyler and she was awesome. I will definitely ask for her next time we go in. The drinks were fun and tasty and there was a nice variety. The food was fantastic! Everything we had was absolutely delicious and so fresh. We each had something different yet all were equally amazing. Oh and the bathrooms-spotless and well stocked. 5 stars for sure! I can’t wait to go back!
Excellent atmosphere and amazing food!!! The food and drinks taste so good!! If you’re not at Alex’s you aren’t anywhere important. Kasey was our bartender and did a great job with service. Food taste so good it will make your tongue slap your tonsils out!!!!
Eight of us went to dinner on Thursday night 8/4/16. We enjoyed it very much. We all met at the outside bar and had a drink, the bartender was very friendly and enjoyable. We were then seated inside (it was way to hot to sit outside). Cara was our waitress. She was sweet and very attentive. We all enjoyed our meals very much. I had the vodka sauce riggie with chicken it was delicious. Most others had a steak and they said everything was great. I would recommend Alex's to anyone who enjoy a good meal with a great atmosphere.
Went Friday with my mother for my birthday. The atmosphere and the food was phenomenal the lobster dip is delicious. The sever Skylar however could use alot of improvement. She had a trainee with her which she sent to the table by herself which was fine the trainee was very nice. Another blonde waitress mainly took care of us. I saw our waitress Skylar walking around doing alot of nothing while our table was full of dishes and my coffee was empty. The trainee had cleared some dishes but her trainer I don't think was much help to her as she was rarely around. Skylar only came once to see if we needed anything .the other waitress filled my coffee which I told her and she laughed then she came to give us our bill that was it. She was not attentive at all and she gets all the tips the trainee doesn't get any I wouldn't have left Skylar anything but my mom is nicer than I am if not for our server I would have given five stars
Drinks were a little pricey. Through no fault of their own, staff was shorthanded and made for some long waits for drinks. Unfortunately the bar, (the outside bar at least) closed at 10pm to accommodate a wedding party which the bartender said was the norm. so we had to settle up and venture from the hotel and find other places to hang out and spend our money.
View was great. Our server was great. Another server was French kissing and eating off of some guy's plate at the bar,in between going to her tables. And as we were heading out, a girl of questionable legal age, was stumbling around in her heels drinking a seltzer, and then walks behind the bar and takes an entire bottle of liquor... Employees saw her and didn't stop her, I can only assume she worked there and was drinking at work?
Food was just ok. Nothing really stood out. We ordered sliders, a burger and grouper tacos. The sliders were dry but the burger was cooked well. The f grouper tacos were alright, a little disappointed. The tortillas provided didn't hold and the meal needed to be deconstructed and eaten with a fork which is fine. The service was, however amazing. The staff is really great and the atmosphere was nice too. Would eat here again, but I think I'd try another place in the area first.
Went out for our 21st anniversary after hearing good things. Our waitress Tara K was amazing, friendly, efficient, and super considerate of us and making sure we were well taken care of. Now the downside had trouble locating the restroom, so asked at the bar. Bartender (Tara H) waved her hand, said rudely, "It's on the left" then turned her back and walked away. Otherwise, we had a very nice time and will be returning.
Five stars for the location, the beauty of the establishment and the service. You really can't have a better location than this: on the Oswego Canal by the Oswego River and at the entrance of Lake Ontario. The restaurant takes advantage of this location by having a large outdoor seating area with an outdoor bar. Also the inside has lots of big windows all around so you can enjoy the view even when inside. The decor is pretty and sober. It is a very large restaurant. We sat at the indoor bar and our bartender, Lyndsay, was attentive and conversational even when busy. Note that the restaurant is attached to the Best Western Hotel. They have a full bar yet the wine menu is limited and common. The food menu looks interesting. As it was Friday we ordered the special, Prime Rib. It was cooked correctly but it lacked flavor even when dipped in the Au Jus and the horseradish sauce. It comes with a side salad which was a nice mix of mesclun and had a good dressing, I ordered it with balsamic vinaigrette. We ordered double side of vegetables instead of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The vegetables were steamed properly yet lacked flavor and presentation.
Interesting and unique food and drinks, but quite pricey for what you get.
Nice atmosphere for a restaurant in a Best Western. The beer and wine selection is weak. The food is standard fare, but well executed. The setting on the canal is really the main attraction especially when the weather is nice.
You'd expect better service for the high prices but our waitress never even came back for second drink orders. Never brought any condiments including ketchup for the burger and also brought the wrong drink order. Food was good and atmosphere was great.
Slow beverage service...ordered chardonnay..got pinot ..was told our house is different than other places.. but when she brought my new pour. It was actually chardonnay. Not the service I expected for a $ 235 meal. Constantly had to wait to flag down the server . Food was just ok.
I was told by a co-worker about Alex's and was so excited to try it. The atmosphere is great, beautiful view, and food was good. But our waitress Kelcey was awful. She got drinks to us fairly quickly and took our food orders....but after that she was nowhere to be found. Someone else brought our food out to us after at least a 30 min wait....he asked if he could get us anything else and I said we wanted to order more drinks and he said he would get our waitress. We didn't see her again until we were finished eating. We asked for boxes and seperate checks and it took 10 to 15 min and the checks weren't even seperated as we asked. We waited at least 10 more min to give our payment to her and she was still not coming back so we walked up to the hostess to pay. When I expressed how disappointed we were about our experience she hardly even apologized and offered us nothing. Between the 4 of us it was over 100 dollars and we were not offered a discount or like a dessert for the road....just a half hearted apology...not sure if i would go back again.
The service we had was not good. We waited far too long for water. Far too long for our drinks. One of the drink orders was wrong. Waited far too long for our check and the box. There was live music and the views are the views. The food was fine.
Food was good service was not great the appetizers came out pretty quick but main course took quite a while drink orders took longer than food orders bar was backed up we played some outdoor games but there was hardly no bar tender in that area so to get a drink you had to pause your game and go wait 20 min to get to the bar and another 10 -15 to get service being that the outdoor bar only had 2 bar tenders one of which’s first day was today on alumni weekend I was really hoping this would be a new experience as Alex’s on the water was not good hence why they closed but this new bar seems to be the same with a new name disappointed for sure they are new and that comes with some pains so I’ll give them another shot
We had made reservations, and upon arrival realized that the restaurant was part of a hotel. The reservations were not needed because there were plenty of tables available. The waitress was lovely and checked on us several times throughout the mall. The food was underwhelming. If I had to compare it, I'd say the quality was no better than Wendy's. It was a little disappointing to say the least.
The food was good. thats all, was greeted by a host that said “we’ll try to make a spot for you” and rolled her eyes. one of our orders were not taken until we said something to the, manager? not sure who’s running the show here because everyone is unprofessional. i’d eat here again but it’d be takeout. food is good service is not
First the good, ordered the steak & lobster. the steak was an excellent cut and cooked just the way I ordered. The atmosphere was perfect, on the water, warm night and a cool breeze. The waitress was attentive and warm & friendly. BUT the not so good, They were out of lobster, (go figure) along with 2 other entrees. they substituted 3 (yes 3) shrimp for the lobster tail. My wife ordered the Greek salad and it looked more like a side salad than a entree and we waited 1 hr 10 min for our food. All in all it was a great night with friends and family but for the top dollar you will pay there are much better meals to be had in the area.
We stayed at the hotel where this located. We ate their our first night. Food was pretty good and the waitress was very pleasant. Later we went back for drinks only. Thehostess seated us and said she would let the bartender know and he would be over to take our order. There was maybe 6 people at the bar. He was drying dishes and just kept staring at is. The waitress we had earlier saw us and stopped at the table. She again said she would tell him we were waiting for drinks which she did. Again, nothing. Finally I walked over and asked for two drinks. I sat back down thinking he would walk out from behind the bar and bring them. That didn't happen! He set them on the bar and stared at us again. I got up, got our drinks, drank them and left. Horrible service at the bar if you don't sit right at the bar. A table 3 feet away and he couldn't serve us! We didn't go back. GS Steamers next door was 100 times better!
1 star for the setting, but that's like complimenting someone on their child's good looks.1 star for the manager's attempt to make things right but we had to summon her.The waitress really should have sent the manager over after we told her of our complaints.Food was more of a Perkins quality if it had been proper temperature upon arrival.Waitress was inattentive and could have helped the situation by letting us know the cause for the extreme delays in all phases of service.Mr Broadwell, hire someone who knows what they are doing and STEP AWAY. It is clear that time in the food and hospitality world has not improved your industry skills. You can put this place on the map, not just the river if your ego would allow it. Disappointed.
An absolutely beautiful venue. Very kind staff. Extremely disappointing food. Fast food would have been better. It was actually comical at how bad it was. Each of us ate about 3 bites. We ordered the Greek pasta dish, a seafood flatbread and a Cesar salad as entrees. Greek pasta had maybe 3 strips of chicken and a bottle of olive oil and over dried roasted veggies. The flatbread was a congealed mess of mozzarella springer with one or two shrimps cut up. The Cesar salad was literally just romaine and tomatoes. No cheese. A lovely $85 we threw in the garbage.
So disappointed, we came here for date night and everything was so great except the service. The music, the view, the food; all exceptional! But our waitress Talia never gave us silverware (went to the bar to get it), we never received bread, and I never received my salad with my surf and turf. Such a beautiful place but service is everything. Will try again someday I’m sure.
The restaurant is very nice looking and the service was good but the food was….pretty bad.
Had three different people ask us uf we had been helped after beeing seated. Ordered drinks that took 10 plus minutes to get. Was not very busy. Had a food runner bring us someone else's food. Then ours came out and was delivered to the wrong table. Fortunately they did not touch anything. The clue should have been there were three people at the table and he brought out two dishes. So they finally get a waitress to come over. She picks them up and delivers them to us with no explanation. Now the food. My wife had the chicken sandwich with onion rings. Did not come with mayo, tomatoes, or pickles and it was cold. Waitress gave her the mayo and said they were out of tomatoes and pickles? Really, in the middle of the summer? She offered to have the cold sandwich re-cooked but we were in a hurry so the dog will get half. The onion rings were clearly the bottom of the bag. There were three full onion rings and a bunch of broken pieces. I had the chicken club. It came out warm and it tasted good and the curly fries were good. The bacon was very musshy and of course no tomatoes. Disappoining, won't be back other than to sit at the bar and have an appetizer as the view is nice.
Me and my husband were visiting family, we live out of state. Unfortunately everything was underwhelming, the hostess stand is nowhere near the front entrance. My MIL got a mojito that tasted like nothing. I got the strawberry and peach salad that had no peaches on it and everyone else’s dish was underwhelming, wings were not crispy. When our food came there was no utensils at our table. I think over all there are a bunch of better locations in the area.
My family and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time while in the area. It was a beaut day so I wanted to dine somewhere that had outdoor seating and this place looked perfect. Upon arriving we put our name down on the list and were told the wait was 15 minutes. We waited about a half hour. After being seated there was much confusion on who would be waiting on us. We also requested a kids menu and were told they were out of them. They were also out of some of the items on the menu. We ordered got our food. My husband and I got burgers. They were on the dry side. The Asian salad was very saucy. The Curly fries were good. My son got 10 chicken wings that came with 1 blue cheese. When he asked for a second one we found out when we received our bill we were charged an additional $1.50 for it, also $1.50 for a small cup of bbq sauce for the dry burger. We were also very surprised by the price of the kids menu, especially the box mac and cheese with fries for $12.50. We did enjoy the outdoor scenery and games. The restaurant has a lot of potential and I wanted to love it but unfortunately they dropped the ball in many areas. Very disappointing.
This place could be the gem of Oswego. It has the best river view in the city. The place is clean and the decor is very nice. That is where it ends. We recently went there with our family. We were there 2.5 hours waiting for food. This could be acceptable on a busy night but, there were 25 people in the entire place. The food came out barely warm and wasn't worth the wait. My wife complained about the taste of her soda to only to learn that it is a generic soda. My suggestion is to stop trying to be some high end place and get back to the basics. Buy a fryer, come out with a mid line diner menu, hire a great line cook, and you will have them backed out the door. With that view, a fast staff and simple food, you could be that water front stop people would visit often.
I'll start by saying that the food we got was very good and I'd have given them a 4 if the service experience had been better. We had to wait almost 90 minutes after ordering to get our meal. We didn't get drink refills or updates on the order. They also ran out of wine glasses. I had to ask for a manger to resolve these problems and we never do that. After getting the manager, we did get our meal. The manager took one of the meals off the bill and gave us a free dessert. I'm not sure I'd be willing to try going there again, but perhaps this was just a bad night for them.
This was awful. I'd give zero stars except you can get a cheap bottle of wine made by someone else and enjoy the view if no one is smoking nearby. My food was cold, soggy and undercooked. The waitress couldn't be bothered to pay attention to us... not that it mattered when she did.
Wish I could give this place 0 stars but 1 star will have to work for now... This is bar food from down the street (Steamers Bar & Grill), repurposed and made to look different and sold for 2x the price. This is the 2nd time I've been to the place (and absolutely the last) and each time I took two bites of my food, sent it back, paid for my drinks and left. It's honestly absurd that their entrees are all $30-40! My $15 undercooked, gristly, deep fried chicken sandwich and "truffle fries" (McDonald's seriously, seriously, has better fries) were so horrible I could only take one bite, which was a huge piece of fat. And then I look and the chicken is pink in the middle...I lost my appetite. My wife got a "Caprese salad" which was so hilarious it almost made me angry. It was, no lie, 3 pieces of deep fried zucchini, 3 slices of mozzarella and some shredded cabbage (or something) for $12... This place is shameful and they need to lower their prices. Otherwise they gonna be going DOWN. This is a Best Western hotel, guys. Come on, now. Not impressed.
The hostess was extremely rude and demeaning. She should definitely not be in the restaurant industry. She ruined a 70th birthday party and we instead gave our business to Vona's. Management should train staff better because it's a reflection on them and word of mouth travels fast.
Although the view is beautiful, the food and service are lousy. I had a filet mignon this evening that I couldn’t eat because it was so tough my jaw actually aches from endless chewing. After spitting the meat into my napkin and giving up, I told my waitress I couldn’t eat it. She replied she would let the chef know. I wasn’t offered a replacement and was chrged full price for a steak I didn’t eat. I won’t be returning.
Terrible service. Food was overcooked, rubbery and had no flavor for $30 a plate. We were trying to be polite and patient while telling the server and the staff was nothing but rude for no reason. We saw the waitress no more than 2 times throughout our 2 hour time there and received nothing but attitude from server and management. We were also told to " Never come back " after asking for the bill. We used to love this place so its really disappointing to be treated the way we were.
Horrible service. The excuse is usually the kitchen staff. Although that may the the case sometimes, what I have experienced is a poor wait staff as well as hosting staff. You're not going to be impressed with your food either. Good things come to those who wait, is not always true. The view is great if you sit outside.
Went on a date night. The venue itself is phenomenal and that’s about it. Made a reservation, show up, still a 20 minute wait. No big deal. It’s busy, we’ll let it slide. Then the true colors surface. Was sat down with no menus. We had to get a menu ourself. Had to stop a waitress to tell them we needed one more menu. After we ordered we got the appetizer after 30 mins. The entree came another 30 mins after that. Hour in total. The girl serving me spills the oil from the pasta on my new shorts. The chicken pasta is more water than oil. The whole process and food was a joke and over priced. Come here for drinks and views and leave it at that.
Very expensive. Make sure you have money for sure. The food wasnt anything special to speak of. Tasted ok but not worth what we paid. Maybe in coming weeks things will improve and may try again. Who knows.
My family and I are staying at a nearby hotel and stopped in for dinner this weekend. Started off okay we were sat in the patio near the water. We ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately I have to say that the waitress was very short with us and once our food came out I began to eat my grilled chicken club and half way through I realized the chicken was not all the way cooked the center was raw and rubbery. I did not mention this to the server bc mistakes happen sometimes. We were going to pay as usual and move on with our night. When the bill came the initial receipt said $ 66 and some change. My husband put his card down the waitress took it and upon returning we were given a bill that read $129 with our card information on it meaning she charged us double what our bill was. I brought the receipt to the waitress and showed her it was wrong and she acted annoyed and said it didn’t go through yet. She took the bill and our card and walked away before I could finish talking to her. When she returned with our card for the second time it read 69$. No apology, no explanation. Just a have a good night and she was gone as quick as she came. My husbands card has two pending charges now. 129$ and 69$. As someone who has worked in the industry the lack of customer service and empathy towards the customer was shocking. The waitress acted as if we were the problem. Not to mention I consumed RAW chicken and I didn’t bother her about it. Also after reading several reviews all negative ones mentioned how bad the service was. Restaurant needs new staff that’s for sure!! The waitress are rude and unprofessional.
RUDEST BARTENDER EVER. Took 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. My friend ordered first and the bartender spent a solid minute staring at the drink because she thought something was floating in it. Then I ordered my drink and she hesitated and said, “to be completely transparent with you, that would be really annoying and I don’t want to do that.” I have NEVER been denied service because the bartender didn’t want to do it. I told her I didn’t want anything else and she rolled her eyes at me and walked away. I told the bar manager about it and he was nice and made the drink for me, but overall an incredibly disappointing experience.
Disappointment with a view! Three of us stopped in last Thursday night, not very busy, half the seating outside was empty, entire inside empty as it was a nice day. Top dollar price for freezer food. Raging river rolls tasted like they were straight out of the freezer and into the microwave. Maybe a handful of calamari for $18. Fried fish also tasted like it was pre-breaded and out of a freezer. Drinks were great. A few Moscow mules. Service was terrible. Took 15+minutes for our drinks every time. Our waitress was often no where to be found. Had asked for ketchup from three different waitresses, none of them ever brought me back. Eventually I asked a hostess and she came through for us. This location is cursed. Great view and atmosphere with trash food and service.
Horrible! My girlfriends and I decided to have a girls night out at this establishment. When we looked at the menus, we were shocked at how high the prices were. Regardless, we decided to stay and order because the atmosphere was so nice. When our food arrived, one of our friends meals were cold. The server brought it back. By the time her meal was returned, one of my friends and I were already done with our dinner. She literally sat there and watched us eat while waiting for her meal to be returned to her. The manager told us that the cook was “yelled at” for the indiscretion but not one penny was taking off of our friends check. Very disappointed with our experience and especially so for my friend. I will personally never eat here again.
I was impressed at the upscale decor. Then came the shocking surprise that it was tied to a Best Western. Form there came the awe of a beautiful covered patio with a view of the river and lake. The stage was set for greatness, but then... I really wanted to give a higher rating because of the awesome outdoor bartender, but I was so disappointed in the food that I would rate it in my bottom 5 of worst seafood dinners. I've been traveling for 21 years and always pay full price, tip over 20%, and then if there were any issues, try to leave evidence of what was wrong and point it out for the kitchen staff to correct for the future, which I did. Captains Broiled Platter... Sounded good, looked good, and failed to meat even the most remote expectations. Shrimp, scallops, haddock, and lobster claw were all extremely overcooked. The haddock was so bland it required salt, pepper and tarter sauce to still remain dry and unimpressive. The grilled squash was cooked well, but again, needed seasoning. I think the worst was the lobster claws. When you crack open a shell and a dry rubbery piece of meat has shriveled to half its size that butter doesn't help, you know there is a problem. A picture is worth a thousand words.
Food was good, scenery was great service was awful. Waited 15 after receiving our salads to get dressing for them in the 93° heat. Then waited quite awhile for a refill on our drinks. Then the bill took awhile to come and we waited for another 18 min for the waitress to come back and take our payment. We ended up get up and paying with the manager who only said sorry about that. Very unfortunate as this is a beautiful restaurant.
